It’s time for the rewatching of this movie.
The best movie ever tocapture passage of time and the sweet melancholy of always knowing that death is coming.
Я жду и не могу дождаться этого сна, в котором я опять увижу себя ребенком и снова почувствую себя счастливым оттого, что еще все впереди, еще все возможно…

Hey! I'm fairly new to Star Wars and I've been wanting to read some of the novels, but I'm at a loss of where to start. Do you have any recommendations? What should I for sure read and is there anything I can skip? I really like how you've set your place in the fan base, you for sure know what you're talking about so I figured you could help. Thank you!
hey friend! welcome to star wars it’s a mess
so there are two families of star wars EU – the legends verse and the disney verse. legends were all the old novels and games before the disney buyout, at which point disney wiped the board clean and decided they were going to reboot canon (to mixed results).
for legends verse i think you want to start with truce at bakara and/or the thrawn trilogy (heir to the empire, dark force rising, the last commmand) – a lot of people consider the thrawn trilogy to be like episodes vii, viii, and ix. they’re very popular, part of what put the star wars EU on the map. (i also really love the jedi academy trilogy, and that comes after thrawn). there’s tons more in legends but this is a good place to start. (im a huge legends fan if you couldn’t tell XD)
for disney verse: this is an unpopular opinion (for some reason???) but i really loved the aftermath trilogy – i thought it was fun to get some after OT perspective with some redshirt-ish characters, people who were in the background. i’ve really enjoyed claudia gray’s star wars novels (lost stars, leia: princess of alderaan, and bloodline). phasma was really good too. there’s a thrawn novel for disney verse too (just called thrawn – people liked him so much he got imported into the new disney canon). my absolute favorite new canon novels though are catalyst, and then the rogue one novelization and battlefront: twilight company, both by alexander freed, who is an AWESOME writer.
i think thats a lot to get started with! let me know if you have any other questions or want some more recs <333333

Tag Game
I was tagged by @erurink , @shippingeruri , @kittyboo8015 , and @danchoupls who apparently all care about my favorite BTS song. Thanks, friends!
1. Which BTS song means the most to you?
I’m so out of the loop with K-pop that I wondered, for a brief moment, whether G-Dragon is in BTS. He is not. Google told me.
2. How do you feel about astrology?
I’m an Aquarius. This means I’m an ethereal creature of wind and mist, a selfish dick-hole, and am secretly from outer space. All of this is 100% factual information.
3. Do you think ghosts exist?
I’ve never seen one. I’m ghost-agnostic.
4. What’s your favorite instrument?
This is very specific and something I’ve never thought about. I’ll cheat: the human voice.
5. Who was the last person to make you really smile?
The random lady at the grocery store who liked my haircut. I’m a pushover.
6. What do you do when you feel vulnerable?
I think you mean, “what do I do when I feel angry?” Usually take a shower, or write. Sometimes just yell at stuff. That’s a favorite.
7. What is the last dream you had?
I have a recurring dream where there are just so, so many more teeth in my mouth than a human should have. Like a shark’s, rows and rows, and they’re falling out and I’m choking on them.
8. Are you a nature person?
Yeah, I very badly miss hills and trees and get a little over-excited when I go places with big open spaces.
9. What’s your favorite thing to do to relieve stress?
Write. Run. Sleep.
10. Do you have any other blogs you’d like people to check out?
I have an AO3 . Other than that, just whatever this is.
11. Marvel, DC, or neither?
I like characters from both, but I’m not super attached to either. I like Deadpool, Gambit, and Batman.
12. What do you want out of 2018?
To graduate. To move. To start my new job. To sleep. Most likely in that order. It would be really cool to make good headway on some writing projects too.
13. Do you hold grudges?
I don’t really hold them, I just let them stay in my backyard for however long they feel like hanging around.
14. Who is your favorite Disney hero/heroine?
Emperor Cuzco from The Emperor’s New Groove.
15. Do you consider yourself a positive person?
Not really. I consider myself a realist.
16. What is something you love that’s underrated?
Driving.
17. What is your dream job?
Good question. Professional hedonist. Or maybe dominatrix. That would rock.
18. If you could live anywhere in the world, where bitch?
In a tidy ranch house in the high desert that the light slants through and the wind whispers by, underneath an uninterrupted curtain of stars.
19. When was the last time you faced a fear and how did it go?
I’m honestly not afraid of much. However, I am terrified of heights. A number of years ago I jumped off a small cliff into water below and did not die. I would be reluctant to repeat this experience.
20. Which would you prefer to read: poetry, fiction, or non-fiction?
I have to choose? I read the most non-fiction of any of these things, but I’m not sure I’d say that’s my favorite.
21. Where do you feel most at ease?
On my balcony in the warm evening air with a beer in my hand.
I'll tag some people and hopefully they’ll be interested- @chuulain @shinjekinootp @erurilicious @ellswritesthings @tocapture @lostcauses-noregrets and @valisi-clark

All about MOTION - analyzing @samdoesarts‘ Linn in action

- art by @samdoesarts
Motion is action, reaction, energy, what’s happening, gestures, dynamics, mobility, exertion, labor, and progress through space. Motion varies with your story. Motion indicators in storyboards are arrows, blurred lines, smears, zooms in and out. Your character is dramatized and embodied as a personality through gestural actions.
In this study, @samdoesarts brings his original character, Linn, to life by posing her in action. In her pose to the right, Linn seems to take an imaginary leap: this is caused by a line of action. A line of action is an artistic concept, an invisible line that captures the thrust and vitality of the movement. By this line, she seems angled to jump with force onto an imaginary object or land.
On the other hand, to the left, Linn is seen to pull an arrow creating this feeling of tension that the arrow will go flying in motion; this is created by the concept of anticipation.
Even by the movement of the hair, Sam is capture this essence of motion in his pieces. Everything lies in the details!
BONUS+++ GLOSSARY
1. 180-Degree Rule: In filmmaking, the 180-degree rule is a basic guideline regarding the on-screen spatial relationship between a character and another character or object within a scene. By keeping the camera on one side of an imaginary axis between two characters, the first character is always framed right of the second character. Moving the camera over the axis is called jumping the line or crossing the line; breaking the 180-degree rule by shooting on all sides is known as shooting in the round.
2. Anticipated Action: A dramatic action frozen in time, the tension mounts, we feel anticipation. We expect the sword to swing or the finger to pull the trigger or the couple to kiss.
3. Camera Motion: Arrows are standard cues, a simple and recognizable way to show motion or progression in a storyboard.
4. Kinesthetic Empathy: A player’s actual movement when responding to action in a game. Leaning into a curve in a driving game is kinesthetic empathy.
5. Line of Action: Line of action is an artistic concept, an invisible line that captures the thrust and vitality of the movement. The line of action can be drawn by artists as the first element tocapture or exaggerate the pose. Tip: Create the line of action as layer 1 so that youdon’t downplay the pose. When you have the full energy of the drawing delete the action line layer.
6. Motion Blur: When your eyes or objects are in motion, the image will suffer from motion blur, resulting in an inability to resolve details. To cope with this, humans generally alternate between saccades (quick eye movements) and fixation (focusing on a single point). How is this biological situation useful in storyboard drawing? How do storyboard artistsuse motion blur? How does a smear function in animated motion?
7. Optical Movement: Optical movement is an optical illusion. Although the image is not moving, it appears to move.
8. Stillness: Stillness is calm, quiet, inaction, and peace. Stillness is the opposite of motion. It can be used to contrast with motion.
