I'm absolutely gutted.

After only a single entry in the blank back of my 2025 day-free, I've noticed significant bleed-through with my fountain tip pens. Not to mention the amount of time that it took for the ink to dry in the first place.

I guess the complaints about the new paper aren't completely unfounded. I thought that it was only the 5-year books or the larger books that had the new paper, but scrolling through reddit shows weeks and original users struggling as well.

I feel as though I've only just started to sort of get comfortable with fountain tips and I was really enjoying the experience.

But that experience, paired with struggling to be comfortable writing in a smaller book, is causing me a lot of heartache I wasn't expecting.

I had barely found some peace in my planning system, and now I feel like I'm out to sea again. I don't even know how to process this. I love my books. I don't want to give them up.

Another journal completed. It's been a while since my last one so this feels like A Big Thing. Started this in late April around the time I failed practically all available conventional systemic treatments and figured it was time to clear inner cobwebs and properly talk things out with my interior demons - because if not now, then when?

Along the way, i found that i've still got plenty to say and am excited to be pouring into my new Hobonichi (at last!!!) notebook (still with the old Tomoe River paper omg 😭).

So I was trying to source that kinda thin bible paper ( Scritta paper). For my bible bind of Manacled And since I think you have to be a publisher to get any decent amount of paper. I found Tomoe River paper makes a decent substitute for that thin paper. It’s just see through enough that it’s not distracting. I found mine on Amazon but I’m sure any paper specialty website will have them.

also Ridoc from the Fourth Wing series is as brown as can be (hair eyes skin signet) and he's a fun and funky guy.

Both the kaweco brown cartridges and the yama-guri ink have shading and it's 🤌🏼🤌🏼 the fact you can see it clearly on the medium nibs is lovely.

(I wanted the Espresso twsbi with broad or 1.1 nibs but they were not available 🥲)
