Finally started watching Columbo and it’s actually great. I didn’t expect to like it considering it takes the whole whodunnit aspect out. Even the whydunnit or any other “dunnits” are pretty much laid out before the titular character even shows up. But it’s quite interesting, thanks in no small part to Columbo’s charm.

Side note: I didn’t expect Peter Falk to be so attractive. Like, the pictures floating around come from later seasons where he’s got major dilf vibes but he’s just as handsome on episode one.

Anyway, it’s free to watch on tubi. Only thing it’ll cost is time, considering the length of the episodes. More like movies…

Honestly I can tell you finding out art was made by AI really does immediately, legitimately sour it for me, like people will trot this out as a Gotcha for anti-AI people but it's just making it clear they don't consider art to be the conversation that it is lol. It's similar to the way Harry Potter immediately soured for me because engaging with it while knowing the kind of heart Rowling is writing from changes the way the work feels; there isn't any moralizing or whatever that I have to do, it's easy to drop it because it's rotted in my hands.

A very large portion of what is interesting to me about art is thinking of why the creator chose that instrumentation, or what made them want to make the thing in the first place. Finding out I've been talking to a wall completely removes an entire third of the force that art is to me, and I can't argue that anything about art or its consumption is Objectively Correct but I can argue it's fucking boring lmao

I like to think that Vulcans who come to understand that Humans just can’t try to process emotions the same way as them, it’s just healthiest to let it out in harmless ways, decide that venting and stuff should be taken just as seriously as Vulcan’s meditation time, and will encourage the Humans around them to complain about what’s upsetting them

I recently bought an art book on Caspar David Friedrich, whose emotional work stuck with me since I first saw it in a museum years ago. Over the course of a few weeks, I read about his life and at the same time did studies/interpretations of many pieces. It was a really enjoyable and fulfilling project; here's a good lot of them together :)

I was happy to see many people enjoyed Friedrich's work+my interpretations while posting them individually. It took way too long, but I FINALLY set up a print shop for some of these + some other pieces for those who expressed interest. Thank you so much!

you know, sometimes I forget that Twst is actually an isekai that starts with the protagonist getting run over by an inexplicable horse-drawn carriage. and every time I'm reminded is a delight because that's AMAZING.

idk maybe its just the jason todd haterisms in me jumping out but i think making tim and dicks relationship solely about "the guilt dick felt over never being there for jason" really devalues their relationship and all of what they lived through and experienced together
