"Shishishi! This is so fun!" Luffy's laughter echoed through the air as he effortlessly knocked down every marine in his path, his fists moving with lightning speed and precision. The thrill of the fight fueled his excitement, making the whole experience an exhilarating adventure.
"You know this was supposed to be a stealth mission," Zoro stated as he also assisted Luffy by slicing the marines.
"Who needs stealth when you can have this much fun?" Luffy replied with a grin, his laughter booming even louder.
Zoro shrugged, realizing that sometimes the unpredictable nature of their captain was what made their adventures truly unforgettable.
"Hey guys!" Usopp called over as he was in a different hallway, his voice filled with urgency. Luffy and Zoro quickly turned towards him, their excitement momentarily replaced by concern.
"Apparently the marines found where we hid the Thousand Sunny," Usopp said worriedly, his eyes darting around for any sign of a possible escape route.
Luffy's expression hardened, his laughter fading as he quickly formulated a somehow plan in his mind. "We can't let them get to our ship," he said firmly, his determination igniting a fire in his eyes.
Quickly, they made their way to where they had hidden their ship, sprinting through the hallways with unwavering resolve. Luffy's fists clenched, ready for another round of exhilarating combat, while Zoro unsheathed his swords, prepared to slice through any obstacle in their path as well as get lost for the fifth time.

"Miss Y/N! Are you alright?" they asked, their voice filled with genuine worry.
As you turned around, you saw one of your subordinates standing behind you. Their faces were pale and filled with terror.
"Yes," you muttered, uncaring about the subordinate's expression. "What is it now?"
"I- I came to tell you that the straw hat crew has infiltrated your base," the subordinate stuttered, their voice trembling with fear.
"And what does that have to do with me?" you asked nonchalantly, leaning against the nearest wall.
"Mr Anstis has placed you in charge of the case," The subordinate quickly explained, nervous at your intense staring.
You cursed under your breath before you dismissed them, annoyed at the sudden responsibility thrust upon you. "Fine," you grumbled, pushing yourself off the wall. "I'll take care of it."
"Will you need support?"
One sharp glance left the subordinates sweating. "I can take care of them by myself," you replied, your voice laced with confidence and a hint of arrogance. "No need for support."
The subordinate then nodded and quickly left your office, leaving you to devise a plan to handle the straw hat crew's infiltration on your own. You knew that relying on your own skills and cunning would be enough to handle the situation, and you were determined to prove it.
As you stood up to check which weapon you could use to attack the straw hat crew, your hand grazed a knife that was placed irresponsibly.
You looked down to find your hand smeared with fresh blood, a deep cut on your palm. The pain shot through your body, but you clenched your fist to hide any sign of weakness. Despite the injury, you knew you couldn't let this setback deter you from your mission to take down the straw hat crew.
Unconsciously, you pressed your nails into the wound, causing a sharp jolt of pain to surge through your hand. The blood continued to flow, staining your clenched fist, but you refused to let the agony weaken your resolve to defeat the straw hat crew.
“Don’t do that!” A high pitched voice yelled from behind you. People just loved sneaking up to you.
You turned around to look at the person at your eye level but there was no one there, you then looked down to the funny looking reindeer. Its wide eyes stared up at you, concern evident on its face.
“You’re only making it worse,” the reindeer said, gesturing towards your bleeding hand. “Let me help you before it gets infected.”
You looked from the small reindeer to your desk where there were the bounty posters of every straw hat pirates.
One of them especially caught your eye, Tony Tony Chopper. His innocent face stared back at you from the bounty poster, reminding you of the reindeer in front of you.
"Tony Tony Chopper," You said out loud, the reindeer jumping at your voice.
"I - I don't know who you're talking about?" The reindeer said, sweating more and more by the second.
"It's not everyday someone sees a talking reindeer. Even if you aren't him, I could lock you up and use you for entertainment," you replied, gesturing at the weapons you had lined up.
"But I suppose I could spare some time to hear what you have to say," you said with a sly smile, lowering your hand and allowing the reindeer to approach.
You sat down on your seat and placed a footrest beside you for the reindeer, creating a temporary makeshift chair.
The reindeer hesitantly came closer and reached for its bag, pulling out a small first aid kit. "I may be Tony Tony Chopper," it said, carefully cleaning and bandaging your hand.
"Really? I didn't notice," you said sarcastically, leaning most of your head weight against your other arm. His huge hat was one of the things that made him stand out.
"So Tony Tony Chopper, what are you doing in my office?"
"Umm, I was looking for a place to hide to regenerate my energy and your office was the only one that was unlocked," Chopper explained as he finalised his treatment.
You, again, cursed under your breath as you remembered that you forgot to lock your door before going on your lunch break.
"All done!" Chopper said happily, your clean bandaged hand was a testimony to his hard work which made him extremely happy.
You looked at your carefully bandaged hand, feeling a wave of relief wash over you. As the reindeer expertly tended to your wound, you felt no pain at all.
The bandage was secure and comforting, and you couldn't help but admire Tony Tony Chopper's medical skills.
"Wow, your doctoring skills are no joke," you replied, fascinated by Chopper's work incomparable to the messy job that the Marines do.
"Really? You don't have to lie! I'm just doing my job as a doctor," Chopper squealed, doing a little dance. "But I'm glad you think I'm good at it! It feels nice to be appreciated."
You smile at his comment before standing up from your chair and walked over to your collection of weapons while Chopper placed all of the unused equipment back into his bag.
"You shouldn't move that arm for about two days and apply this cream three times a day," Chopper instructed, placing a tube on top of your desk.
Picking up a dagger from the list, you looked at the rather happy reindeer.
"Why are you helping me so much? Didn't you hear that I have to take care of your crew?" You explained gently yet the reindeer's expression didn't change.
"Luffy always said to help someone even if they're our enemy," Chopper said with a small smile.
Speechless, you placed the dagger back on the shelf and leaned against a wall, contemplating Chopper's words.
"I'll... I'll let you go and make sure this never happened if you leave quietly and quickly," you offered to the reindeer.
"Really?" he squeaked, smiling brightly. "Thank you!"
Chopper then ran over to you and hugged your leg tightly, expressing his gratitude once again. As he released his embrace, he gave you one last joyful smile before hurriedly scampered out of the room, leaving you alone with your thoughts.
You flopped back on your seat and sighed heavily, feeling a mix of emotions. Part of you was relieved that Chopper had accepted your offer and left peacefully, but another part of you couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt for betraying the Marines and assisting the Straw Hat crew.
Glancing at the knife on your desk, which was covered by Chopper, you slowly picked it up, feeling the weight of the decision you were about to make.
You hated feeling a mix of emotions. Feeling emotions in general was a bother to you but all of them at the same time had you wanting to puke.
Feeling overwhelmed by the conflicting emotions, you impulsively threw the knife in frustration, and to your surprise, it lodged itself firmly into the wall.
As you stared at the knife stuck in the wall, more thoughts came into your head.
You should have killed him when you had the chance. His soul would be useful in the future but you just had to be soft and let him go.
"Shut up," you muttered to yourself, dropping your head to your hands.
The decision was made, and there was no going back now.
"No way! We caught one of the straw hats, Tony Chopper I think?" You heard someone say outside the room.
Your heart skipped a beat as you realized that the consequences of your decision were about to catch up with you.
You quickly ran out of your office and listened to the voice of Chopper struggling. Though it didn't take you long to find them.
The scene made you shiver. Marine soldiers kicking the unmoving reindeer on the blood-filled floor.
"Hahaha! Look at them, they look like a fish out of water!" A boy laughed joyfully yet his actions were not reflections of anything joyful at all.
"Please Stop!" you pleaded with them but it was like no words went into their ears.
Their laughter was a torment in itself. How could they be this cruel? You thought of that moment for years yet you never got an answer, even when you returned the favour.
It felt bittersweet. Though you knew you wanted revenge and you got it.
"Oh! Miss Y/N! We got one of the strawhat pirates right here!" One of the marines said, laughing as he displayed the reindeer as a prize.
As they moved away, you could see how badly damaged Chopper was. Chopper's body was covered in bruises and cuts, his fur matted with blood. His limbs were limp and twisted at unnatural angles, evidence of the brutal beating he had endured. His eyes, once full of life and warmth, were now dull and filled with pain.
"He looks like a fish out of water!"
As soon as those words were spoken to you, you felt your legs move as though they were on automatic pilot as you dashed towards the marines. You raised your right hand and immediately the two marines' faces changed from joy to horror as they realized what you were doing.
If you were a marine on this base, you would know what happens next.
"Wait Miss-" their voices were cut off as the two marines dropped onto the floor lifelessly, their bodies hitting the blood-stained ground with a thud. The room fell silent, the only sound being the heavy breathing of Chopper and your own racing heartbeat.
The taste of revenge was bittersweet, but in that moment, it was the only thing that brought you any semblance of satisfaction.
You rushed over to Chopper and picked him up, shaking him slightly to wake him up. His eyes fluttered open, filled with a mixture of pain and confusion, but as he looked into your eyes, a flicker of gratitude and trust appeared.
His eyes darted from you to the marines on the floor, a mix of fear and curiosity in his gaze. "What happened to them?" Chopper asked, his voice barely a whisper, as if he couldn't believe what he was seeing.
"Nothing happened," you said, standing up with him in your arms. "They won't be bothering us anymore." You couldn't bear to tell Chopper the gruesome truth, but you vowed to protect him from any more harm.
"Where are we going?"
"I'm taking you straight to your crew," you stated, running in a pace that wouldn't shake the reindeer in your hand. "They'll take care of you and make sure you get the proper medical attention you need."
"What about you?"
"What about me?" you asked, a hint of exhaustion and vulnerability in your voice. "I'll be fine," you reassured Chopper, even though you weren't entirely sure yourself.
"You won't. They have cameras across the base and they must be seeing you with me, which would consider you a betrayer to the marines and the government."
"I know," you replied, your voice steady despite the growing unease in your gut. "But sometimes, you have to make a choice between loyalty and doing what's right. And right now, taking care of you is the most important thing to me."
There was never any loyalty between you and the marines and you never do the right thing. You needed a place to stay and they needed someone to experiment with.
Why are you helping this dog anyway? He's more useless than you are. Don't tell me it's because he reminds you of your previous self.
We picked you for a reason Y/N, don't make us regret it.
"Y/N?"
"Yeah,"
"We've stopped moving,"
"Oh yeah, sorry," you said before running again, realizing that you had momentarily lost focus.
The urgency of the situation snapped you back into action, and you continued sprinting towards the location of Chopper's crew, determined to fulfill your promise and keep him safe. . . .

"It's been ten minutes, where is he?" Usopp said worriedly as he stood on the deck of Thousand Sunny, scanning the horizon for any sign of their doctor's return.
"It's okay, Usopp," Luffy reassured, patting him on the shoulder. "I believe in Chopper. He'll come back. He always does."
"Yeah but it's been twenty minutes now," he said, checking his watch, "he might be-"
"Don't say that, he might be just caught up helping someone in need," Luffy interrupted, his voice filled with confidence. "Chopper has a big heart, and he wouldn't leave anyone behind. Trust me, he'll come back."
"You're right," Usopp said, walking over to sit down on the grassy patch.
Luffy followed him and Usopp pulled out a scroll out of his bag. "I found this old scroll while searching for you guys before," Usopp said, unrolling it and studying the words.
"It looks like a riddle," Usopp muttered, resting his chin on his hand.
I wear a facade of charm and grace, but beneath the surface, I'm a villainous face. I manipulate and deceive, I take pleasure in your grief. What am I?
After a few minutes, Luffy opened his mouth and said, "Isn't the answer evil?" Usopp looked at him in surprise and nodded slowly.
"Yeah, that makes sense. The riddle describes someone who pretends to be good but is actually malicious. Evil fits the description perfectly."
"Where did you find it?" Luffy muttered, slowly losing interest.
"I found it at the marine base," Usopp replied, his eyes still fixed on the riddle. "It must have been placed there for a reason... Perhaps it's a clue to something important."
"I think I know-" Luffy started, but then a voice made their attention divert.
Curious, Luffy and Usopp turned around and ran over to where everyone was standing. They looked in the direction everyone was looking at and their jaws dropped in shock.
They saw a marine officer running towards them with Chopper in her arms, his body covered in bruises and blood.
"Chopper!" Luffy exclaimed, his heart sinking at the sight.
The rest of the crew, on high alert and armed, quickly surrounded the marine officer, demanding answers.
Usopp's hands shook as he reached for his slingshot, ready to defend their injured friend. "What happened to Chopper?" Usopp yelled, his arms shaking with fear.
"I'm sorry," the marine stated, her voice filled with regret, "I couldn't reach him in time, but he needs medical attention."
The crew looked at her with distrustful eyes, their anger and worry evident.
"Why should we trust you? How do we know you're not responsible for Chopper's injuries?" Nami questioned, her voice laced with suspicion.
"I understand your skepticism," the marine said, her voice filled with sincerity. "But he helped me bandage my injury before he got caught with other marines. You don't have to believe me, but please, just take care of him. He needs medical attention."
Even though they were still unsure, Nami quickly walked over and took Chopper out of her arms, carefully cradling him.
She looked at the marine officer with a mix of caution and concern, but there was a glimmer of trust in her eyes. "We'll take care of him," Nami said firmly. "But if we find out you had anything to do with this, you'll answer to all of us."
The marine nodded, "Thank you, though if you tell anybody about this encounter, I'll find you and I will cut your throats," before turning around to leave.
Though she stopped when she heard the squeaky little voice again.
"Wait!" Chopper weakly called out. Everyone turned their attention to the injured reindeer, shocked to see him conscious and speaking. "It wasn't her fault... I... I ran into a trap... she saved me... I got caught by myself."
Chopper's words hung in the air, leaving the crew with more questions than answers.
"She can't go back," Chopper said, his voice filled with sadness. "She's betrayed the Marines by saving me. If they catch her, they'll punish her. That's why she risked herself to bring me back to you."
The crew eyed the two of them for a second, their expressions softening as they witnessed the bond between Chopper and the marine officer.
Then Luffy's loud chuckle came in, breaking the tense atmosphere, and they all looked back to see Luffy sitting on the railing of the ship, his wide grin spreading infectious joy.
"Well, if Chopper trusts her, then so do I!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with unwavering confidence.
"Well, Marine officer, do you want to join my crew?" Luffy asked, his grin widening.
The marine officer's eyes widened in surprise, a mix of emotions crossing her face. She glanced at Chopper, then back at Luffy.
"I shouldn't," she started, her voice filled with hesitation.
"Why? Are you scared of the sea or something?" Luffy pressed on, cocking his head with curiosity.
"I'm a marine, of course I'm not scared of the sea, but I'm a marine, which means you guys are my enemies," she explained, her voice tinged with uncertainty.
"But as a sign of gratitude, I'll buy you guys time. I'll delay any pursuit from the Marines while you make your escape. Consider it my way of repaying the debt I owe to Chopper."
Luffy nodded and stretched his hand all the way to her as if he wanted to shake her hand.
With a smile on her face, she took his hand and shook it firmly.
"Wrong answer!"
Before you could even process what he said, she was sent flying towards the ship and landed head first, the impact leaving her dazed and disoriented.
"You're coming with us whether you like it or not!" Luffy laughed as the Marine officer started to lose consciousness.
As your vision blurred and darkness enveloped your senses, the sound of Luffy's laughter faded into the distance. Unconsciousness took hold of you, leaving you unaware of the crew's decision and the fate that awaited you as a member of their unconventional pirate crew. . . .

Straw hats x cat! reader
Summary: You were just playing around in your room and one of your spells made you a temporary cat. request=open requested: <yes> <no> wc: 1,120 ft: straw hats
⭑First of all, Luffy would call out your name EVERYWHERE.
⭑If you didn't respond, he would use his Gum-Gum Fruit to climb the crow's nest.
⭑But, sadly, he didn’t see u. But instead, a small cat sitting on top of the merry’s head.
⭑He’d used his gum-gum powers to go to the cat and would tilt his head to the side due to confusion.
⭑But no worries since he’d smile and try to pet the cat.
⭑Would honestly forget about you and would just wanna play with the cat (which IS technically you...)
⭑The next day though, he'd try to look at the cat again (HE WANTS TO PLAY!!).
⭑Though when he saw you, he'd be happy again!
⭑Would invite you to look for the cat with him but give up 5 minutes later.
⭑You promised Zoro to spar with him after lunch.
⭑However, when he arrived at the crow's nest, a cat was waiting for his arrival.
⭑He won't pay mind to the sitting cat, instead, he'd use that time to train.
⭑But, the sun is starting to set and the cat hasn't moved an inch. He's getting pissed.
⭑Would mumble a curse and say stupid. But the cat meowed at him.
⭑He FINALLY looked at the cat and said, "What?"
⭑You'd growl at him and scratch his pants.
⭑He was honestly deciding to kick you but noticed your similar features and FINALLY REALIZED.
⭑Would laugh at you and pet you. He also realized that he likes cuddling with you!
⭑Poor man, save Sanji from this hell.
⭑When he didn't see u in the dining hall eating, he was worried.
⭑Would asked Robin and Nami if they saw you, but both the girls said no.
⭑After everyone left to do whatever and Sanji finally overcame his breakdown, he saw a small cat standing at the center of the table.
⭑He was honestly angry at first. Who's cat is this? And don't they know that they shed a lot!?
⭑But when he took a closer look at you and a super deep inhaling, he finally realized it was you.
⭑"Is that really you, Y/n?" he said.
⭑You meowed back, happy that Sanji recognized you immediately.
⭑He'd pet you and hug you (He wanna spend time with you ok? Especially if ur taller than him. NOW HE'S LARGER >:))
⭑The rest of the day was just u sleeping on the counter, occasionally getting pets from him.
⭑You were hanging around Nami's tangerine trees, trying to hide from the sun.
⭑She finally finished drawing the last island that you guys went to. So, of course, she wanted to rest for a while.
⭑And what better way to do it than to eat one of her tangerines?
⭑She took a step forward but was blocked. She looked down and saw a little kitty sleeping.
⭑She cooed on the sleeping cat and picked it up gently, scared to awaken it.
⭑Nami would then go to her office and lay you on her desk, admiring your sleeping form.
⭑She would take a piece of paper to put every question she has for you and try to communicate with you.
⭑When she finally noticed that the cat was you, SHE WAS SQUEALING!
⭑She was kinda sad that you can't turn into a cat at will though.
⭑Ussop was bored and was just walking on the green grass.
⭑Suddenly he tripped and fell. He then would look back and notice a cat sleeping.
⭑The cat, who was formally sleeping stretched its body.
⭑Ussop, honestly, was scared at first. He WAS sure there wasn't anything lying around. But when he turned around, he sent out a relief of sigh.
⭑"It was just a cat," he had thought, "WHAT IS A CAT DOING HERE?"
⭑Bro was shaking. Though you just glared at Ussop, disturbing your sleep.
⭑Would sit down and play with you.
⭑Bro exhausted you and got you back to your human form quicker than 24 hrs.
⭑W Ussop
⭑Chopper was reading a book in his office when he heard some scratching on the other side of the door.
⭑Chopper opened the door and saw you frowning.
⭑He immediately recognized it was you. From your features to your smell.
⭑When I tell you his eyes were sparkling, it was SPARKLING.
⭑He invited you to his office and tried to talk to you. Since he was an animal by heart, it was the easiest to talk to him.
⭑You honestly had a good fun chat with Chopper.
⭑He told you fun facts about cats and how they used to be worshipped.
⭑Honestly, 10/10. Just come to Chopper.
⭑Robin was just hanging around the deck of the merry. Reading as she pleased.
⭑Until she heard some meowing beside her.
⭑She looked down and saw a cat. Though it was her first time seeing it, she felt a sense of familiarity.
⭑"Y/n?" she spoke.
⭑You meowed back, happy that Robin noticed you.
⭑She made a few jokes about you staying like that forever. (It made u scared and u started meowing faster.)
⭑Robin chuckled and used her devil fruit to tickle you.
⭑And from exhaustion, it made you turn back to normal. YEY!!
⭑Now, whenever someone from the crew gets turned into a cat, Robin just needs to exhaust them, and they'll turn back to normal.
⭑You were gonna surprise Franky 'bout being turned into a cat.
⭑You weren't looking in your direction and fell into a massive tub of cola.
⭑Franky saw you and used his mini hands to save you.
⭑You stuck your tongue out to the cyborg man who was in a state of confusion.
⭑"Owh! Y/n! This is SUPPPERRRR weird!" he said.
⭑He'd honestly play with you in your cat form. I mean, he's superrr excited!!
⭑He also got u back on ur normal form. YEY!!
⭑Brook felt something heavy on top of his head.
⭑He tried taking off his hat and feeling his hair, but nothing was there.
⭑It's when Brook lost his balance and you fell on his hands. (Thanks to his great reflexes)
⭑You had a smug face when you saw the skeleton's shocked face.
⭑He'd just forget about it and make a welcoming song for you though.
⭑Jimbei was just steering the ship when he heard meowing behind him.
⭑He saw a cat that was sitting down.
⭑Jimbei thought that it was somebody's pet. And since he was the newest person in the crew, he had no right to throw the cat.
⭑He picked you up and put you on his shoulders. The clean breeze hitting your fur.
⭑You fell asleep on his shoulders and woke up on your bed, feeling a sense of exhaustion on your hands and legs.

Thoughts on being friends with the Straw Hat crew.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope you’re an energetic person because with Luffy as your friend, there’s never going to be another peaceful moment. He’s always dragging you and all of the other Straw Hats into an adventure.
Speaking of energy, he’s got a lot to spend so you can expect him to ask you to fight or play with him a lot. The same way he’s always playing with Chopper and Usopp, you’re now included in the mix.
Gives surprisingly good advice at the least expected moments. You could be sitting quietly and suddenly, he’ll run over to you and provide you with a profound and perfect solution to a problem you mentioned to him two days ago.
However, don’t expect him to have good answers for everything. Sometimes, the best he can offer is “maybe you should have something to eat?” And that’s okay, duality is something you learn to expect if you’re friends with Luffy.
I feel like Luffy is the kind of person to share clothes platonically. Not his hat of course (unless it’s a special/rare occasion) but his shorts and vests are up for grabs. He just thinks it’s cool being able to swap clothes with his friends.
Definitely the kind of friend to give you a huge hug after you’ve been apart. Even if it’s just for a couple of hours, you can still count on a tight embrace when you reunite. He just misses his friends when they’re not around.
This guy will give you the most insane presents you’ve ever received. Whether it’s a shiny rock, a marine’s hat, or a bug he picked up, you never know what you’ll be handed next. Best not to ask where he got things from though…
That one friend you can’t take anywhere without being prepared for anything that might happen. A simple dinner? You’re going to have to be prepared to run when no one can pay for the amount he ate. A walk along the beach? Now he’s fighting the seagulls. It’s always an adventure.
Nap buddies. No elaboration needed. If you enjoy taking naps, wherever Zoro is is the best place to be. Luffy usually leaves him alone when he’s resting so that means you’re likely to be left alone as well.
He’s also the perfect person to train with. He’s got an insane workout regime so don’t even try to keep up with him but being in his presence is a good motivation to try harder.
Speaking of, he’s a lot like Luffy in that he’s very motivational. However, unlike his captain, he’s a quiet inspiration. He might not say it often but if you ever get a few words of praise from Zoro, take that to heart. He really means it.
Says the most out of pocket things sometimes. He won’t even react to it. One minute you could be relaxing together, the next he’ll say something like “hey, have you ever smelt your own burning flesh?” and never elaborate.
At the same time, he’s also that one friend that, while he doesnt say much, when he does speak, it’s either really profound or stupidly funny. There’s no inbetween.
I feel like Zoro’s weirdly good at noticing when people close to him have habits that harm them in some way like biting your fingernails or chewing your lip. He’s also good at pointing out when you’re doing something like that so you can stop.
Amazing at keeping secrets, if only because he usually forgets he’s meant to keep whatever it is secret and just assumes everyone else knows so there’s no need to talk about it.
In the same vein, Zoro will remember the most obscure details about you. You could tell him there’s a spot on your back that burns in the sun easier than everywhere else and a year later, he’ll remind you to cover up that spot when you dock on an island.
The single best person to go clothes shopping with. She’s got an eye for fashion like no other and will always give you honest feedback on any clothes you try on. Just be warned that she’s not paying for your clothes. That’s on you.
Oh my goodness, a second hand shopping queen! She knows all the best places to get good quality and high end clothes for discount prices. It's great going shopping with her.
Despite Sanji being the cook, I feel like Nami’s decently good at baking. She’s got a bit of a sweet tooth in my mind so, as a result, she knows how to make sweet stuff.
That one friend who is brutally honest with everyone, regardless of whether she knows them or not.
Following on from that last headcanon, you might have to bail her out a lot. She has a tendency to say the wrong thing to the wrong person and get in trouble. Good thing she’s got her friends for backup.
I feel like Nami has a habit of getting absorbed in her work and forgets to take breaks. If you want to help out, set up your work station next to hers and remind her to take a break whenever you do.
Really good with makeup and especially doing makeup and face care routines on others. If you need somewhere with your eyeliner or just want to have a spa day, Nami's your girl.
I feel like Nami would enjoy making jewellery from the treasure she finds. It increases the price if and when she decides to sell so it's a win-win. If you've very lucky, she might even gift you some jewellery she's made.
Feeling homesick? No need to worry, Sanji’s on the case. He’s somehow got a cookbook from your hometown or island full of things to make that taste like home for you.
Always doing little touch ups to your appearance, whether it’s adjusting your collar or tucking your hair back. Of course, he’ll always get the go ahead from you first.
Super empathetic. Somehow, he always knows how you’re feeling and will do his best to help you feel better.
However, just because he knows how you’re feeling, that doesn’t mean he always knows how to help. He’s good with comforting people generally but when it comes to something more nuanced, he can struggle at times due to not having much comfort in his life.
Speaking of comfort, he’s that one friend that always checks in with others but is super out of touch with his own feelings and health. Keep and eye on him in return and he’ll be very grateful.
If you like reading or writing, Sanji will ask you to help him make a cookbook or two. He really wants to compile all of his favourite dishes and figures the best way to do that is by making a book. He's just not sure how to go about it and would be grateful for any help you can provide.
He really loves spending quiet time with his friends one on one. Life with the Straw Hat's can be chaotic and loud at best so it's nice being able to relax in companionable silence for a change.
His love of gossip is only rivalled by Nami's. It's something he picked up from the Baratie and he loves being able to share lots of juicy stories with you.
Definitely the mum friend. Some might say it’s Robin but I think it would be Chopper. He’s always keeping an eye on everyone and trying to keep them out of harm’s way as much as possible.
However, this doesn’t mean he’s not a very chaotic influence as well. Once he lets go of his doctor’s instincts, he’s roughhousing right alongside Luffy and Usopp.
This one is more for the readers who experience periods or menstrual pain but if you ever have cramps, he’ll curl up into a ball that you can press to wherever it hurts. This goes for back pain as well if period pain isn’t an issue for you.
Speaking of back pain, Chopper is amazing at giving massages. You might not think it with his hooves but he’s light enough that he can stand on you in one of his smaller forms and really work out any kinks in your back.
I feel like Chopper does have the bad habit of giving unprompted diagnoses and can be a bit naggy regarding healthy living. It’s just because he cares though.
The fastest way to find out if Chopper considers you a close friend is if he asks you to tell him stories. It doesn't matter if they're exciting or not, he'll listen attentively because you're the one telling it.
Love, love, loves doodling on his friends hands and arms. He claims it's so he can practise marking skin for surgeries but he really just likes seeing a visible sign of the fact that he has friends.
Will use you as a reason to get sweet treats, especially if you like sweet stuff as well. Otherwise, he'll use the excuse that “it's a hot day and you've been really active so you should have something to make sure your blood sugar isn't too low, I'll have something too to keep you company!”
Robin is definitely that friend who will make a comment about getting rid of anyone who annoys you that you’re not sure is a joke or not. She does mean well, she just has a…unique way of expressing it.
In the same manner, she knows so many facts, both relevant and completely obscure, that you’ll never have to look far for information.
This sort of follows on from my headcanon about Chopper’s role as the mom friend: Robin is the cool wine aunt. Sure, she cares about her friends deeply, but she’s happy to take a backseat and watch the chaos unfold rather than try and prevent it.
Definitely a daydreamer. She’ll often gaze off into the distance while sailing between islands, clearly lost in thought.
Robin likes memes, especially dark humour ones or ones that Facebook mums would post. That's just the sort of thing she likes and if you're her friend, you'll be shown all of those memes.
I feel like she has a collection of weapons from different cultures stashed away somewhere. If you ask to borrow something, she'll be more than happy to show you how to use it most effectively.
The most responsible driver and happy to drive you wherever you need to go. However, she will be assertive when the traffic's particularly bad so hang onto your seats and buckle up!
I feel like Robin is good at sketching things quickly and accurately. She has a good eye for detail and, if you ask her to draw something, she'll pull together a drawing in a matter of minutes.
Need anything made for you? Franky’s the man for the job. No questions asked (other than what’s necessary of course) and he’ll work tirelessly until it’s perfect. There might be some interesting design choices though.
I think if you’re a creative minded person or have a talent for designing things, Franky would value your input in his designs.
One of the most chill people to hang out with one on one if you’re not super chaotic like Luffy. He’s very adaptable when it comes to his energy levels and will match the mood of the room.
Franky would absolutely be a theatre fan. While that might seem out there, it just makes sense. He’s already got a flair for theatrics and music so it would be right up his alley.
He’s a great listener. If you’ve got ideas or just need to talk through, he’s a good sounding board. He’ll also do his best to give feedback or advice where it’s required.
Franky is weird through proxy. Hanging out with Robin a lot does that to anyone so if you have strange hobbies or interests, you'll hear no judgement from him!
Following on from my headcanon that he'd make things for you, if you like collecting things or cosplaying, or just need props for something, this is the guy to ask. He'll get a few reference pictures and make an amazing replica for you.
Franky has a knack for photography. He's not really sure how he acquired this skill but he's certainly not complaining. If you ever want some “professional” photos done, just ask him and he'll be more than happy to help.
Jinbe loves talking about books. If you're a fan of reading or just want to listen to him ramble for once, bring up books and you're set.
Jinbe plays golf. I’m sorry, I don’t make the rules. He knows it’s not everyone’s thing but he’d enjoy it if you tagged along for a game every once in a while.
He enjoys carrying his friends around and giving them piggy-back rides. He’s got the height and strength advantage, and it makes him feel like even more of an unofficial dad than he already is.
Prone to spouting quotes or sayings from ancient generals and philosophers at random moments. They’re always relevant to what you’re saying or doing though so that’s something.
In the same manner, he’s always got motivational posters laying around. You know those cat ones that way things like “hang in there” and “believe”. If you ever want some for yourself, he’ll happily help you pick out the perfect (purrr-fect) one.
Jinbe’s very good at giving advice. Unlike Luffy who gives good advice sporadically, Jinbe’s a lot more reliable. He’s got a lot of life experience to draw from.
He does, however, try to fix everyone’s problems for them, even if they don’t ask for help first. He only has your best intentions at heart but if you’d rather just talk things out or deal with things on your own, you’ll have to tell him that.
Always checks in on you before bed. It’s his way of making sure everyone he cares about is safe. If you want him to join you in your nighttime routine, whatever that may be, he’ll be more than happy to spend the time with you.
Day 5-
OP Tony Tony Chopper x Platonic!Reader - Gingerbread House
Summary: You help Chopper put together a gingerbread house after everyone else goes to bed.
Warnings: Pure fluff, very short, platonic relationship
You stirred in bed to the sounds of rustling elsewhere in the ship. You were ever the light sleeper, and tended to wait until everyone else was sound asleep before laying down yourself to ensure a good rest. Not tonight though, aparently.
Tiptoeing down the hall, you noticed the lounge light on. Who could be up at this hour? Rounding the corner, your curious scowl faded into a warm smile. There was the Straw Hat doctor, sitting in one of the dining chairs, boosted by a stack of books, and leaning over the table, a frustrated grimace on his face. He had something caked in his fur and smudged on his nose, and from the crumbled bits of cookie architecture in from of him, you guessed it to be royal icing.
"Chopper," you called out, giggling and stepping toward him. "What are you doing up so late?"
His eyes darted to you, startled, and then even more panicked. "G-Go away! You're not supposed to see! It's a suprise!"
"Are you making a gingerbread house?" you asked, ignoring his distress. "Do you need any help?"
The boy shrunk in his seat, surely blushing under all that fur, and nodded slightly. "I just...I wanted to surprise everyone with a gingerbread house, but I misjudged how hard it'd be to put it together...especially with hooves." You couldn't help but let out a hearty laugh, which only frustrated him further. "Oh, shut up, (Y/N)! That's it, just for that, you can't have any when it's done! Not a single gumdrop!"
"Oh, stop," you snickered, sitting down with him. "Let me help you. What are you stuck on?"
"Well..." he trailed, eyeing you suspiciously. "I can't get the pieces to hold together, and if I put too much pressure on them, my hooves break them." He explained, shoulders slumping, disheartened.
"Tell you what," you smiled. "How about I hold them together, and you put the icing on the seems? That way you can move on and don't have to worry about it falling apart while you do something else."
The boy thought for a moment before nodding excitedly. "Yeah, okay!"
With that, the building stage was done before either of you knew it, and Chopper was already halfway finished decorating the 'front yard' of the house. The cake board was dotted with bits of icing with gummy trees stuck in them, gluing them down, and the pathway to the door was lined with candy pearls. Now that your hands were out of the way, Chopper was free to decorate the roof, which he'd been incessantly telling you how excited he was to do. Yet, when the time came, he hesitated.
"Chopper, what's the matter?" you asked with a curious smile.
"I feel guilty," he confessed. "You've been so helpful and I was such a brat to you earlier. Now I'm getting to do all the fun parts while you do the hard work." Your gaze softened at his deep consciousness.
"Well, that's alright, buddy." you chirped, booping his nose. "I knew what I was signing up for."
"But..." he mumbled, shrinking into himself again. "I want you to do some fun parts too." Suddenly, he perked up, shoving the messy piping back into your hands. "I know, I know!" He beamed. "How about you do the icing, and I'll do the candy! Deal?"
Your heart began to sweel with admiration for the little guy. He could be so selfless, so sweet. "That's a deal, Doc."
── .✦ Zoro:
The deck of the Sunny is peaceful. The sun is warm. The sea is calm. A perfect day.
And Zoro has just fought a sea king.
You're watching from the side, arms crossed, lips pressed together, trying to stay cool and composed. Like always.
But Zoro walks past you, shirt still off, a little cut on his cheek, sword resting against his shoulder and he scowls at the deck like it personally offended him.
That’s it.
That’s the moment.
Your brain breaks.
You lunge at him without warning “Zoro!”
He turns his head, barely reacting in time before you wrap your arms around his neck, jumping slightly so you can hang off him, nuzzling your face into the side of his jaw.
“YOU WERE SO COOL!! You chopped that thing like shing shing BAM! My big strong grumpy samurai baby!”
He stiffens “Oi! What the—”
You grab his face between both hands, squishing his cheeks together like dough.
“Look at this face! So serious! So brave! So slicey! UGH!!”
You start kissing his cheeks, nose, forehead, even his frown line like you're on a mission.
Zoro is frozen. Arms hanging in the air like he doesn’t know what to do with them.
“…Did you hit your head?” he finally mutters.
“No!” you say, still kissing him “I just... I have a thing!”
“A thing?”
“Yes! I get aggressive when things are too cute or too cool or too brave! Like when Chopper does his little dance or when cats squish into boxes—and now you!”
He gives you a blank look “So… you're calling me cute?”
“No,” you say seriously “I’m calling you the cutest deadly thing I’ve ever seen and I want to eat your face in the most loving way possible.
“...What.”
A few feet away, the rest of the crew is watching like it’s a new show.
Luffy’s grinning, sitting on the railing “He’s gonna explode.”
Usopp is pale “I’ve never seen her like that. That’s terrifying.”
Sanji’s cigarette hangs from his lip, forgotten “He doesn’t deserve that level of affection, but damn if I’m not jealous.”
Robin chuckles “So, this is what she’s like when the mask slips. Fascinating.”
Back to Zoro who now has you hanging off his front, kissing under his chin while mumbling things like “my battle bear” and “look at this terrifying angel”.
He finally puts a hand on your back, awkwardly “…You’re seriously not joking.”
“Nope,” you chirp, grinning like a lunatic “I’m so proud of you I might die. Look at you! Protecting everyone without hesitation. You’re amazing.”
He stares at you. Then down at his swords. Then at the deck.
“I just killed a sea king.”
“And it was HOT.”
Zoro groans and hides his face behind your shoulder.
Later on you’re sitting on the grass, your head in his lap, Zoro finally having managed to drag you somewhere quieter. Sort of.
He’s sharpening his swords, jaw set, pretending he’s not enjoying the way you keep sneaking kisses to his thigh.
“You done acting weird?”
“Nope,” you say, immediately reaching up to pinch his cheek again “You’re mine now. This is the price.”
Zoro sighs, annoyed.
But he doesn’t move your hand.
Instead, he glances down, and there’s a tiny hint of a smirk at the corner of his lips.
“You better not do this in front of enemies.”
“No promises.”
“…Tch.”
You grin and tug him down for another forehead kiss.
And this time, he lets you.
── .✦ Sanji:
You’ve been good today. Calm. Collected. You kept your hands to yourself through breakfast, through a minor skirmish with Marines, and even through Sanji’s dramatic backflip dodge while holding two plates of soup.
But now… Now he’s plating dessert.
He hums a little as he swirls whipped cream into perfect little peaks.
His hair falls over his eye just a bit, and there's flour on his cheek.
You try. You really try.
But no... You’re losing it.
“Sanji—” you say, voice tight.
He turns with a warm smile “Yes, my love?”
You’re already marching toward him.
“Oh no,” he says, eyes wide with anticipation “Is it time?”
“It’s time.”
You slam into him like a heat-seeking missile, arms wrapping tight around his middle as you squish your cheek against his chest.
“TOO PERFECT. TOO BEAUTIFUL. TOO TALENTED” you shout into his shirt.
Sanji laughs and drops the whipped cream just in time to catch you with both arms.
“Mon dieu, you’re doing it again. You’re going to kill me with affection.”
You grab his face “GOOD. DIE WITH LOVE.”
You start smothering him in kisses: forehead, cheeks, chin, nose, ears, rapid-fire smooches with increasing intensity.
Sanji nearly melts.
“Chérie, please, my heart can only take so much—”
“Look at you!” you cry, squeezing his cheeks “Your stupid little smile and your perfect food and your gentleman act! You’re SO ANNOYINGLY AMAZING!”
He practically purrs “Say that again.”
“You’re the most beautiful, talented, wonderful man in the world and I want to chew your stupid perfect face like a mochi bun.”
He gasps softly “Marry me.”
“I might do.”
“Then we have to arrange it all.”
Later that evening, you’re sitting peacefully on a chair, flipping through a book.
Sanji walks past you carrying a tray of tea and pauses.
He glances over his shoulder.
You glance up.
There’s flour on his sleeve.
His shirt is rolled up to the elbow.
He’s humming again.
You’re holding it together, but barely.
He smirks “You okay, mon amour?”
You stare.
He walks closer “You’re looking at me like I’m a chocolate cake with legs.”
You slam the book shut and launch up, but before you can pounce, he spreads his arms wide like an invitation.
“Come here, ma chérie. Ruin me.”
You leap into his embrace and he spins you around, laughing as you kiss his face over and over and over.
“You’re shameless!” you giggle.
“I’m in love,” he says dramatically “If your kisses were a drug, I’d be long dead.”
“I will squish your cheeks into dumplings and feed them to seagulls.”
“Please do.”
“You’re too pretty, it’s unfair.”
“I’ll ugly it up a little. Give me a day.”
“NO! I love your face, I’d wear it like a scarf if I could.”
He fake-swoons “Do it. Take it. I’m yours.”
“Is this… normal now?” Zoro mutters as he watches you pin Sanji against the wall of the kitchen, attacking him with affectionate nibbles and kisses while he happily takes it, hands holding your waist like he’s never been more at peace.
“Unfortunately, yes,” Nami says, sipping her drink “They’re like this almost every day.”
Brook hums “Yohoho! True love is terrifying.”
Robin smiles behind her book “At least it’s harmless. Though, she did try to bite his nose once.”
“She did bite my nose,” Sanji calls out helpfully “It was magnificent.”
Zoro turns away, muttering, “Get a room.”
“We have a room!” Sanji replies “We’re just taking the scenic route!”
Hours later, you’re snuggled on the couch in the kitchen, your head on Sanji’s lap, while he runs his fingers through your hair.
“You good now, love?” he asks gently.
You sigh “I think I emptied the tank.”
He leans down and kisses your forehead “You can refill it tomorrow. I’ll be ready.”
You open one eye “You really don’t mind when I get like that?”
He smiles “Mon amour… I live for it.”
You smile too “You’re gonna regret saying that.”
“I hope I do,” he says “Over and over again.”
── .✦ Law:
Law is reviewing maps. His fingers tap against the table in a steady rhythm, eyes darting from note to note. His crew has just docked at a remote island, nothing dramatic today. Just calm preparation.
You're leaning against the wall, watching him.
He’s focused. Serious. In control.
You normally admire that about him.
But now?
It's making you suffer... a lot.
His eyebrows furrow slightly. He mumbles something about currents and wind speeds. His lips move with precision. His fingers glide over the paper and...
... and that’s it.
You break.
“Law” you say, voice suspiciously innocent.
He hums without looking up “Mm?”
You walk up behind him slowly. Too slowly. His head lifts just slightly, eyes flicking toward you, narrowing.
“…What are you doing?” he asks flatly.
You don’t answer.
You leap onto him from behind.
“AHHH—”
He jolts forward a little as your arms wrap tight around his neck, your face burying in the side of his head.
“YOU’RE SO SMART. SO FOCUSED. I WANNA BITE YOUR BRAIN THROUGH YOUR SKULL—IN A LOVING WAY!”
“WHAT—?! Y/N—what are you—”
You pull back only to grab his face and start kissing it in a fury. Forehead. Nose. Cheek. Jaw. Temple. Eyelid. Repeat.
“SO! SMART! AND! SEXY! AND! SERIOUS!”
“Are you having some kind of episode?” Law says, voice strangled.
“Yes,” you gasp “It’s called cuteness aggression and you’re the disease.”
Minutes later, Law is leaning back in his desk chair, defeated, while you sit on his lap like an overjoyed little goblin, hands on his cheeks, staring at him lovingly.
“You’re not supposed to be like this” he mutters.
“Like what?” you blink innocently.
“You’re usually calm. Rational. Controlled.”
“I lied,” you say sweetly “That was just the bait phase. This is my final form.”
Law sighs and covers his eyes with one hand “I can’t do diagnostics like this.”
“Sure you can,” you whisper, kissing his nose again “You just need to adjust to your new life. With me on your lap. Forever.”
He mumbles something that sounds suspiciously like “help”.
“Too late,” you say “I’ve chosen you.”
“You’re insane.”
“And you’re perfect. Look at this little line between your eyebrows. It’s my favorite. Can I kiss it?”
“No.”
You kiss it anyway.
He tries to work. He really does.
You're sitting nearby. Quiet. Reading. Acting like a normal person again.
Then Law says something offhanded, like, “The odds of ambush are low, but possible.”
You immediately drop the book.
You spin in your seat.
“Low but possible? SO. ARE. YOU. That’s you. You’re a low-chance rare-drop man. A mythic legendary boyfriend. I’M GOING TO KISS YOUR EARS.”
“Please do not kiss my ears.”
You pounce again “TOO LATE!”
You squeeze his face gently, tilt it like he’s a confused doll, and begin your assault.
He groans “This is emotional terrorism.”
“You love it.”
“…I don’t hate it.”
Later that night, you’re laying together in his quarters, the world quiet, your head on his chest. He’s stroking your back slowly, finally calm again.
“You’re weird” he murmurs.
“Yup.”
“I liked you better when you were pretending to be emotionally stable.”
You smile into his shirt “Liar.”
“…Yeah,” he mutters “I am.”
You lift your head just enough to look him in the eye “Do you want me to stop?”
He hesitates.
Then, softly “…No.”
You grin “Good. Because I was going to keep doing it anyway.”
He presses a kiss to your hair “Of course you were.”
── .✦ Ace:
Ace drops out of the sky like a meteor, lands on the deck with a dramatic crouch, and tosses a flaming Marine cannon overboard like it’s a beach ball.
Everyone cheers.
You’re already running toward him.
He stands up, beaming, shirt half open, flames still curling off his shoulders.
You throw your arms around him like a tackle.
“BABY!! YOU LIVING INCINERATOR! MY FLAMING HERO!!”
He laughs, wrapping you up tight “I missed you too, firecracker!”
You grab his cheeks.
“I am going to smooch you so hard your freckles become stars.”
“PLEASE DO.”
You slam kiss after kiss to his face, and he laughs through all of it “Wait—no, don’t stop, I’m just surprised! You’re usually the calm one!”
“That version of me is dead,” you say seriously “You dropkicked a cannon midair. I’m going feral.”
“Finally!” he cheers “Join me in chaos!!”
You bite his cheek lightly.
He gasps “I’m in love.”
The rest of the crew watches you both clinging to each other like human Velcro, nuzzling and giggling and attacking each other with affection.
“It’s like watching two puppies roll down a hill” Marco mutters.
Thatch wipes a tear “Beautiful. Gross. But beautiful.”
Ace is now spinning you in a circle while you repeatedly yell, “YOU’RE SO STUPIDLY HOT, IT MAKES ME ANGRY.”
“YEAH?! GOOD! I WANNA BE HOT FOR YOU FOREVER!”
“STOP SMILING LIKE THAT YOU HANDSOME PIECE OF SUNSHINE!”
“I CAN’T, YOU’RE TOO CUTE WHEN YOU YELL.”
Later, Ace plops down beside you, sweaty and soot-streaked after another skirmish. He opens his arms wide.
“Do your thing” he says.
You blink “What thing?”
He grins “You know. That thing. The... 'aggressive cuddles and I-want-to-chew-your-face' thing.”
“Ohhh, you want the full package?”
“Yes please.”
You tackle him to the ground instantly.
“MY BEAUTIFUL DUMB IDIOT. MY FLAMING HOT DORK. MY BRAVE EXPLOSION HUSBAND.”
You kiss his forehead.
Then both cheeks.
Then his jaw.
Then you pause.
“You smell like smoke and sea salt.”
“Romantic, huh?”
“You smell like danger and I love it.”
“I love you.”
You pause again “Ew. That was corny.”
“You just licked my face like a cat two minutes ago.”
“Fair.”
At night, lying in a hammock together, he holds you tight against his chest. The wind is quiet. The sea gentle.
He brushes his fingers through your hair.
“You really don’t get embarrassed?” he whispers.
“Not when it comes to you” you murmur back.
“Even when you call me a ‘beautiful flaming dumbass’ in public?”
“Especially then.”
He grins into your hair.
“I like this side of you” he says.
You look up “You mean the clingy one that kisses your nose in front of your whole crew?”
“No,” he replies softly “The one that doesn’t hold back.”
You smile.
“Then you’re stuck with me.”
Ace kisses your forehead.
“Good. Because I’d set the world on fire before I let you go.”
── .✦ Chopper (+ Zoro):
“Okay, next patient,” Chopper says proudly, flipping his clipboard “Let’s see Y/N, it’s just your check-up!”
You sit on the exam table swinging your legs “Yup! I’m ready, Doctor Tiny Genius.”
“I told you not to call me that” he mutters, hiding his flustered face behind the clipboard.
You lean down and whisper, “But you are a tiny genius.”
“Stop iiiit,” he whines, blushing, “I’m just doing my job!”
You watch him waddle around the room with his little doctor coat and stethoscope.
He’s so smol. So serious. So determined.
You can’t hold it.
“Chopper,” you whisper “Come closer.”
He looks up, confused “Huh? Why?”
“Come. Closer.”
“Are you okay—?”
You snatch him right off the ground and CRADLE him in your arms.
“TOO CUTE. TOO KIND. TOO FLUFFY. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH I’M GONNA EXPLODE.”
“W-WHA—?!” Chopper’s face is glowing red “W-WAIT! I—I’m your doctor—!”
You rub your cheek against his fuzzy face “You are my doctor AND my emotional support reindeer. Let me love you.”
“You’re squishing my antlers—!”
“They are precious and I would die for them.”
Chopper flails, but doesn’t really try to escape. He’s used to this. You do this at least once a week.
“I’m gonna tell Zoro!” he threatens, kicking gently.
“Zoro loves it. He thinks you’re cute too.”
Zoro is leaning against the doorframe, watching the scene unfold.
You cradling Chopper like a plush toy while Chopper pretends to be mad but actually leaning into your touch.
Zoro sighs... and smile.
“You’re enabling her” Chopper says accusingly.
Zoro shrugs “You are adorable.”
“Not you too!” Chopper squeaks.
You smirk “See? I told you.”
Zoro walks over and gently ruffles Chopper’s hat “Deal with it, doc. She only does this to her favorite people.”
Chopper freezes. Blinks. Looks between you and Zoro.
“R-Really?”
You nod and boop his nose “Only the elite get aggressively snuggled.”
He goes completely red, squeaks, and buries his face in your shoulder.
“Okay... but just for five more seconds.”
You squeeze him tighter “Ten.”
Later, as you finally let Chopper go, he adjusts his little coat and clears his throat.
“I’m still your doctor” he says sternly.
“Of course, Doctor Cutie.”
“Don’t call me that! …I mean, you can, but—wait, no, don’t make it a thing!”
Zoro pats his head on the way out “Too late.”
You lean over and whisper to Zoro “I’m gonna dress him up as a little surgeon plush next time.”
Zoro smirks “I’ll hold him down.”
I Don't Want to Move On (Sanji x Reader)
_____ Pairing: Sanji x Female Reader Summary: When Sanji leaves you to marry Pudding, he shuts you out, and you don't know how to forgive him when he returns. Warnings: SPOILERS for Wholecake Island Arc, Angst to Fluff A/N: (h/c) = your hair colour [One Piece Masterlist] _____
You stop and look up, the quiet of the space between you and him bringing forth an awkwardness you were not used to. You were on the Sunny, in the doorway of the kitchen and your boyfriend was facing you with deep remorse reflecting his eyes. Or was he your ex now? You didn't know; you didn't even want to think anymore.
He had left you for her. He had hurt you. And no matter if his reasoning was credible, in the end, he had shut you out and left you to pick up the pieces. You know now that Sanji's family - if he could even call them family - were nothing of the affectionate and caring sort. No, they were emotionless and unkind, arrogant and vain; nothing like the man you loved.
You know that this whole scenario probably brought more agony to Sanji than it did to anybody else. But it didn't change the fact that you didn't know how to face him anymore, or how to talk to him. The words he spoke to you when you had finally caught up to him were raging in the back of your mind. Words that though perhaps false in that moment, still brought pain to ever hear from his lips.
"It was all an act... I could never love a low-life like you."
Was it really? Was it really all an act?
Then what were the nights spent buried in his arms, warm and safe and adored? What were the days spent laughing in the kitchen, the generous caresses and murmured words of devotion? What were the quiet moments spent together, where you thought you needed nothing more than him and his love? What were all the promises and bold whispers?
How many times have you heard him say "I love you" and how many times have you returned the sentiment? Hundreds and thousands of kisses were exchanged and a million times your hands held his. So many times, he pledged his loyalty, looked only to you, caressed only you. How many times had you seen that spark of joy and light reach his eyes, because they reflected the tenderness in yours?
Was that all an act too?
Now you found yourself avoiding him, and his faint calls of your name. You and your crew may have escaped Big Mom, and your friends may have found forgiveness for Sanji's actions. But you didn't know if you could do the same so easily. How could you when his words were spat like fire to your heart? How could you when he left you to marry another woman?
How could you when he shut you out so easily?
"Lov-" Sanji freezes, cold sweat on his face as he looks at you. He had never seen you look to him so devoid of the emotions he was so used to seeing. "[y/n]..." his words are a murmur, hesitant and ashamed. You fight the tears that want to travel down your face at the sight of him. He seemed lost, even when he had retaken his solace back on the Sunny and Luffy's crew. He looked pale and worried and regretful. But was that all an act too?
"Please, can we talk?"
Your heart tugs low at his words.
"I- I don't know, Sanji." His eyes spark just for a moment at the sound of your voice directed at him, after days on the sea without even an utterance. "You hurt me, you left me, I-" You swallow harshly as you watch the way his brows furrow in what seems like genuine pain. "I don't know how to move on from that."
You turn away swiftly, trying to get out of the doorway and out of his presence but Sanji is quick to his senses. He reacts desperately, holding your arm in his hand, causing your movements to halt. You look up at him, the tears now rolling down your face mirroring the ones brimming in his eyes.
"Please love, I don't want to move on from you..."
.....
When you arrived at Zou along with Luffy's group after the exhausting events at Dressora, you never thought you would find your boyfriend missing. Never did you dream.
And yet that was your reality.
Nami had rushed to you alongside Chopper, her bright facade faltering once she saw you and her Captain. She had flung herself into Luffy's arms, but her tearful eyes looked only to you.
"I'm sorry...Sanji's..."
Her words and actions already caused the rhythm of your heart to stutter but when she showed you the letter you felt it slip from your chest.
'I've gotta go see a woman. I'll be back.'
The words on the blank sheet of paper were plain and simple. He would be back. But who was this woman, and why was she of such importance he leaves without a trace or word to you?
It is Luffy who breaks the silence.
"Does, 'gotta go see a woman' mean... he's gonna get married?"
Your heart tugs fiercer at your Captain's words, and Nami is quick to strike his head in vexation. "Luffy!" She scolds, before offering a hand to your shoulder in comfort. "That's not necessarily the case..." You look up, and Nami avoids your gaze in regret, you know that there is something else she wants to say. "... but it seemed like he was determined."
"But he's with [y/n]! That's not allowed!"
Nami chastises Luffy again for his insensitivity but you quickly cut her off. "Nami," she looks at you in surprise at the calmness of your voice. "It's fine. He said he'll be back, didn't he?" She nods hesitantly at your words as your crew looks at you in concern.
"Then, he'll be back."
Your friends all stare, unsure of what to say, but as Brook speaks up, you feel your hopes wither slightly. "But, [y/n]-san, the bride is the Emperor's daughter. Of course, Sanji refused the marriage immediately. But that's what troubles me." The apprehension inside of you churns more and more. "It won't be easy to decline such an invitation. What do you think Sanji would do in a situation where he cannot escape the marriage?"
You think of your boyfriend. He was kind, generous and caring. But you had seen instances of him with traces of sadness in his gaze, only for him to brush you off when you asked if something was wrong. He never really knew how to accept the love that you so willingly offered him, and only time made him better at it. But this: this marriage with the daughter of an emperor too powerful for you to even fathom to defeat. You knew the answer to Brook's question quicker than Chopper had replied.
"He's the kind of guy who'll try not to cause us any trouble so he'd try to separate himself from us."
Nami nods slowly, and the ache in your chest builds the franticity within you. "When he tossed us outside, he could've gotten away too. When he wrote the note, I think he'd already made up his mind to go by himself." She meets your regard and you see the discomfort in her irises. She can see your concern, but it soon turns into a fierce resolve.
You had to at least try to get him to open up to you; to talk to you.
You would do anything for Sanji. You had to go see him and stop him. Surely, he was not doing this of his own free will, surely there were layers to this marriage and he obviously had his reasons why he must concede to them. So, when Luffy had shouted that he would go meet with Sanji and talk to him, you had agreed instantly despite the anxious murmurs of the crew.
"You're facing an emperor!"
Their concerns were valid but your worry for your boyfriend was more significant. He would never hurt you, or that's what you thought when you had joined Luffy, Nami, Brook and Chopper on your journey to Whole Cake Island. Surely he would open up to you as you had done to him so many times before. Surely he would come to his senses the moment he laid eyes on you. You could not fathom anything otherwise.
How wrong you were.
.....
When Sanji saw you, Luffy and Nami, for a moment his heart was overcome with hope, but it diverted immediately to utter fear and despair. His heart rate raged against his chest and in the presence of his brothers and father, his trepidation only grew.
Why were you here? Why were you here where he could not protect you?
When Luffy had flung himself onto his carriage with his wide smile and optimistic words, his mind could only pitch what was on the line. His hands were set to detonate if he even desired to leave, those on the Baratie were in jeopardy and you; the crew. He could not let you live a life under the rein of an emperor he knew would show little mercy.
He loved you; God did he love you.
But you just couldn't be here.
When Sanji had kicked Luffy from the carriage, you had watched, heart in your throat and completely stunned. You could hear Nami shouting at Sanji, "Hey! What are you doing Sanji-kun!" But when Sanji met eyes with you, he knew the only way to get you to leave; the only way to protect you was with words that would make you despise him.
"Get packing, you low-class pirates!"
You are voiceless at the way his eyes could contort to a way that shone with such disdain.
"My name is Vinsmoke Sanji. I'm a prince of the Germa Kingdom! I'm sorry for keeping it a secret. I thought that it'd make you miserable. The difference between our standings couldn't be clearer. If I stay here, I can spend money and use soldiers and servants as I like. Going back to that crappy ship with you... or staying here, marrying Big Mom's beautiful daughter."
Your heart falters as you hear the words slip his lips.
"It's pretty obvious which is a happier life. Don't take the note seriously. I won't go back with you! I can't believe you've come all the way here."
There is a silence that lingers on your behalf, and the way Sanji looks to you - to all of you - makes you want to wither and perish. You can hear Luffy shouting to Sanji in complete denial of his words, anger morphing on his face. Sanji approaches slowly as Luffy refuses to go away, and even as he leaves the carriage his expression does nothing to falter.
"I don't know what made you come, but I appreciate that you took the trouble. Having said that, if you really think about me, you should've done the opposite. Rather than being with you guys who are poor and weak, it'd be better to be part of the rich and powerful Big Mom Pirates. I'll be happier-"
"SHUT UP!"
Your words reach the air, interrupting your boyfriend's words before you can stop yourself. Sanji's heart lurches at your anger-tainted words, and yet he finds himself silently begging that you would leave quietly. However, you are too hurt to answer his prayers. You rush forward, past Luffy and Nami who calls your name hesitantly. You move until you're in front of Sanji, hands balled into fists by your side.
"Shut up! You can't mean that! Sanji-" Your words start to wilt the more you see his unbending stare remain on you, piercing and urging you to hate him, but you wouldn't. "How can you say that, Sanji? I know you; I know this can't be what you want. Just tell me the truth, we won't run, we'll fight whatever it is that you are fighting. You don't have to protect me from anything... I just want to be with you. Please Sanji, I love you, I know you love me too-"
"You actually believe that?"
You freeze when Sanji speaks to you, eyes unwavering, shaded expression, persuasive words. "What? Sanji stop, what are you-" But when you look up he is looking at you in a way you could not fathom to be true. Such contempt and hostility, and a hint of mockery. "You actually think, I care about you? That I want to protect you?" You shake your head slowly as aversion starts to build up within you.
"You're a liability, [y/n]."
"I was bored and miserable with you. The emperor is giving me a chance with her daughter, a woman who could actually make me happy. Who are you to deny me that?" You grit your teeth, anger taking hold of you, as you step forward and grasp the collar of his shirt in your hold. Sanji's eyes flicker with a moment's surprise before returning to the deadpan stare that you begin to despise.
"You're lying," you say, but Sanji does not falter. Your tears start to pour down your face as you look at your boyfriend devoid of his love. "Come back to the Sunny with us, Sanji. Let me in Sanji. Where's the man I fell in love with?" Sanji doesn't think that he loathed himself more than he did the moment he stared back at you, desperately trying to keep his own tears at bay. How could this be the way he says goodbye to the love of his life?
"It was all an act. Of course, I could never love a low-life like you."
At his words, you think you feel something break deep within you. Your hold goes limp on his collar and your eyes are wide in shock. Tears pour down your face, but suddenly you feel numb and you think you can actually hear your heart break. You hear Luffy's rage from behind you along with Nami's shouts of outrage. You can hear the muffled laughter of Sanji’s brothers beyond the carriage at your crestfallen expression.
Nami drags you back to her. Sanji fights Luffy so that he would make him leave too. But you feel so hollow you hardly even register the events that take place around you. When Luffy falls limp to the ground you still look numbly to the man in front of you.
Nami's slap was sharp against Sanji's cheek, but what twisted his insides more was the fact that you did nothing. Instead, you looked at him with the most barren expression he had ever seen from you. An expression he fought to keep from touching your face was placed in front of him because of him. Sanji almost broke, but he could say nothing. "Goodbye. Sorry- we should've never done this." Nami's words are harrowing to his ears, but again he could say nothing. She instantly went to your side uttering comforts but he no longer saw your face.
In his mind, he screamed at you to stay. He screamed that he wanted to be with you for eternity. That he loved you like nothing else in this world. He never wanted to leave you, he never wanted to marry anyone but you. The days spent chasing women were left behind in the past like specs of dust. You were all that had encompassed him. You were all that made him feel worthy of love and life and warmth.
His shock when he learnt that you, actually felt the same was like the feeling of his heart retching free and soaring through the sky. He never thought a day would come when a woman he loved as much as he loved you, could return that same devotion. He was in heaven. Every day with you was heaven. He never even dreamt that a goodbye would come, because he would rather perish than let it become reality.
He had made his worst nightmare come true.
All because he couldn't let you in. He couldn't hurt you. He wouldn't let the burdens on his back be the burden on yours. He doesn't want to cause you misery because of a choice he made or a past that he runs from. You were his angel, and he felt as though reaching out would taint your heart and your outlook on him.
And so, he left.
His brothers laughed and shouted absurdities, but he didn't look back.
"Damn Sanji, you sure had some tasteful women on your crew."
"Yeah call back the chick with the [h/c] hair! If you don't want her I might entertain her for a night or-"
"Shut up!"
Such fury fills him at his brother's words that he loathed their beings almost as much as he loathed himself.
Luffy's words that he would stay unmoving until his return echo through the distance placed between you both, and that is when he lets his tears slip. But his tears aren't for his Captain, they're for you. You and the life he thought he was so blessed to share with you. He had thought so stupidly that maybe all the turmoil he had faced in his early life was because you would be waiting in the future, and be a hundred times worth the despair he had felt.
But of course, it would all be stripped away. You wouldn't forgive him. He wouldn't forgive himself. He would have to live with the fact that the love of his life was gone for good, and along with you, any ounce of love he felt in his heart.
.....
"Stop Dreaming! Will I Marry that low life? No way!"
"That idiot played right into my hands. And fell for me."
Isn't it funny, how you don't realise the damage your words can do until they are thrown back at you?
Was this how you felt when he had thrown your love away?
No, it must've been worse because these were the words of a woman he couldn't love, but you; he had loved you and you had loved him. The words from his fiancé sounded shrill and sharp against his ears, but he could not even compare how he would've felt if those words were from you.
Sanji felt the energy leave him as suddenly as his hopes to move on from you and the crew had come. What was wrong with him? Leant heavily on a wall he listens as this woman berates him for his stupidity. But he deserved it. That's what he thought.
He had left the days of chasing women long ago, but he found himself forcing himself back into the rhythm just to push the thoughts of you from his head.
Yes, I'll cook for pudding-chan.
Yes, I'll just revert to Sanji. The Sanji who loves women.
Yes, I'll forget, I'll move on.
But the dish he made for Pudding was the abundance of favourite foods of his crew. The one in larger quantity was yours. '[y/n]...' Sanji retched himself free of your image for only a moment but his heart jolted laboriously against his chest. He missed you. But then, he'd remember the flash of your downcast eyes shining in utter despondency and in the absence of the love he usually saw in them.
He didn't deserve you.
But when he hears Pudding's words mock him of his love and being. He did nothing but miss you. Miss your kind words and gentle touch. Miss your honest love and your silent comforts. Miss your joy and laughter and the glimmer in your eyes when he cooked something for you.
Fuck, he missed you.
Sanji crumbles, flowers lost from his grip and food long forgotten. He reaches for a cigarette; he was on his last few having gone through them like nothing these past few days. But as he reaches the lighter and flicks and flicks and flicks again, there is no light. When finally, a glimmer of hope prevails and he sees his cigarette catch fire, it is out in an instant by the pouring rain.
The vision of your smiling face is lost along with it.
One tear slips past his face, followed by another. His heartache was almost unbearable as he felt himself move away. Anywhere was better than listening to the words of the woman he was betrothed to. But the place he wanted to be in most was the embrace of the woman he loved.
.....
Now you are standing there, in his grasp and in front of him, but your eyes were filled with a pain he feared he couldn't ever undo.
"Please love, I don't want to move on from you..."
Your eyes meet his and he sees an emotion he had never seen in your gaze: hesitation. You were usually so sure with him, so usually knowing that he was your safe space and your comfort and all you could need. Sanji hates that he had stripped that all away.
You begin to speak but he is quick to cut off your sparing words.
"Sanji-"
"I never loved her."
Your eyes shoot open as his words tumble like boulders from his mouth.
"I- I only love you. Those words I said to you, I didn't mean a single thing. I don't hate you, I wasn't miserable with you, I was the happiest I had ever been and I was stupid to give it up so quickly. I was a coward. I-"
A tear slips lonely down your cheek, but you are surprised when you feel slight anger ignite in your system rather than resistance.
"That's what you think I'm angry about Sanji?"
The man in front of you freezes mid-sentence, his anxious eyes giving way to utter confusion.
“I-“
"That's what you think hurt me?"
You let out a soft, emotionless laugh as you look to the ceiling and back to him, eyebrows furrowed in frustration.
"I wanted you to let me in, I wanted you to let me help you. I told you not to protect me, I told you to let me fight with you but you didn't."
There is a silence that unveils the sentiment of truth in your pain. Your own boyfriend had left you with bitter words, but what had torn your heart to shreds was the fact that you thought he did not trust you to carry his burdens as he did yours. You thought that a relationship with him would concur to you being his person as much as he was yours and yet he had shut you out and walked away.
"You pushed me away."
Your last words to him are quiet, and the pain exceeds what you can hold back so tears start to cascade quickly down your face.
"Sanji-"
He moves before you even have the chance to continue, your broken words causing his own chest to squeeze painfully. He pulls you close to him and in an instant, you are engulfed in his arms and your senses are filled with his familiar scent and warmth. You tremble slightly as you push your face deeper into his chest, and his face buries itself into your skin.
Sanji feels his heart contort painfully as it goes from warmth to agony.
How can a woman such as you exist?
Your kindness he didn't deserve? Your love and consideration he had hid himself from? Your devotion to him? All this time he had thought the words he spoke to you were what caused the distance between the two of you. But you were hurting because he had not trusted that you would accept him and comfort him and carry his hardships as yours.
"I'm so sorry love. I- I just didn't want you to know. I didn't want you to see how pathetic I was in my earlier life. I didn't want you to see me differently. I didn't want to burden you or cause you hurt."
Your tears start to slow and your heart rate steadies as you find solace in the chasms of his arms. "I know that I just-" Your words stumble into your soft cries.
"I just wanted to help you."
When Sanji pulls away and looks into your eyes, he finds in them a glimmer of hope. Could he dare to ask for your forgiveness? When he moves next it is out of all the love he has for you in his heart, all of his regret and sorrow and devotion. His breath is hot against your lips before they connect, deep and soft and passionate. He brings your form closer to him, his touch like fire on your skin.
You finally respond.
A hand carves its way into the depths of his blond hair as you pull him impossibly closer. You move desperately against him and pour all the fondness and misery you held onto into the kiss. It lasted for long moments, the pressing of your mouth to his, the warmth and the love. When you pulled apart his head rested on yours, his affection still lingering on your skin. Your breaths were uneven.
"My love, forgive me."
When his gaze meets yours, it is filled with his pure, honest intention. Yes, the division cast between you may take more than a kiss to heal. Yes, the trust shared between you may have to be built from a hundred conversations and reassurances. But the love that the both of you had was true, and you knew that neither one of you would be moving on from the other. So, you smile tenderly and sadly at him as you tug his face to yours and connect your lips softly and deliberately.
In your mind was one thought.
You'll both be just fine.
Sanji Vinsmoke X Reader
TRAITOR (๑ᵔ⤙ᵔ๑)
masterlist
Our little guy is scared he wont be your little guy anymore.
(๑ᵔ⤙ᵔ๑)The sun was shining so brightly it could probably melt the deck boards if you gave it long enough and that was exactly when Tony Tony Chopper knew something suspicious was about to happen.
He was nestled behind a stack of barrels on the Sunny’s upper deck, peeking carefully through a sliver of shadow, his little hooves clenched into small fists. There she was. Lounging on a beach chair like some goddess of the sea, sunglasses pushed up in her hair, wearing one of those shirts that was definitely not doing its due diligence. Her legs were lazily stretched out, one hand behind her head, the other idly twirling a straw in her drink. She looked so cool. So relaxed. So beautiful. Like one of those models from towns they would pass by.
Sanji, with his stupid swishy hair and his dumb fancy shirt with three buttons undone due to the sun. he just had to show off his chest hair, bleh. He strolled across the deck holding a tall, frosty drink in his hand.
Chopper scowled harder, ears twitching.“Stupid Sanji…” he grumbled, his voice barely above a whisper. “Stupid, tall, twirly eyebrowed, fish cooking, flirt face…..” A pause came to chopper as he couldnt think of any other way to diss him “Jerk.”
“There you are, mademoiselle,” Sanji said, placing the drink beside her with a smooth smile. “Your afternoon special: mango and lime iced tea, sweetened just the way you like it.”
“Ohh,” she hummed with a sleepy grin, stretching her arms above her head, “you spoil me.”
Sanji chuckled. “I live to serve.”
“HE’S SUCH A SHOW OFF,” Chopper mouthed silently behind the barrels, glaring.
She took a sip, then glanced up at him, eyes amused. “You even added mint leaves. Fancy.”
“Well, I couldn’t possibly serve a beautiful lady anything less than perfect. It’s not hard when you always look like you need to be spoiled” He gave a low bow.
Chopper slapped a hoof over his mouth to keep from groaning too loudly. “Gross,” he hissed under his breath. “Disgusting. Barf. Blegh.” The reindeer ducked his head behind the barrels, mumbling to himself.
“She used to say I was the cutest on the ship. She used to share her cookies with me. And read medical books with me. But now it’s all ‘Sanji this, Sanji that.’” He kicked a pebble on the deck and muttered, “Stupid eyebrow noodle man. Acting like he’s so smooth. I bet he doesn’t even know her favorite kind of cookie is the cinnamon ones with the little sugar crust.”
Peeking again, he saw her lean over the side of her lounge chair to pull Sanji closer by the wrist. Chopper’s jaw dropped. “What?! What’s happening now!?”
She was whispering something to Sanji, laughing under her breath, and Sanji stupid smug Sanji was grinning like a cat who’d just been given the whole can of fish. Then Sanji reached down and OH. HE TUCKED A STRAND OF HER HAIR BEHIND HER EAR.
“DISGUSTING!!” Chopper shrieked in his mind, face bright red with secondhand embarrassment. “why would she let herself be tainted by that”
She didn’t even smack him. She just smiled at him and kept sipping her drink like it was normal.
Chopper muttered as he pressed his cheeks with his hooves. “shes going to forget about me and ill never hang out with her again. she will never hug me again”
He watched in growing agony as Sanji pulled up a small stool beside her. They started chatting, laughing about whatever. She even nudged his shoulder with her foot at one point and Sanji didn’t fall over screaming about how she touched him like usual he just chuckled and gently pushed her foot away like they’d done this a million times.
“Oh, come on!” Chopper hissed. “KICK HIM KICK HIM” He flopped on his back behind the barrels, limbs spread out in defeat. “I was here first. I was her buddy. We were besties. She used to ask me for snacks, not prince butt over there.”
Suddenly, he jolted up, hooves clenched with determination. “No. I won’t go down like this.” He peeked once more. “Okay, so they’re talking. Big deal. I can talk, too. I’m a doctor. Doctors are smart. Maybe if I casually walk over and mention something complicated, she’ll remember how awesome I am.”
‘Sanji stood up to get her another drink. Now’s my chance!’ Chopper zipped out from behind the barrels and darted down the deck ladder, little hooves a blur. He sprinted toward the lounge chair like it was a battlefield. He was three feet away, already rehearsing something cool about cranial nerve response and then Sanji returned. With a fruit plate. Chopper skidded to a halt and dove behind a potted plant with a loud thud. Neither of them noticed.
Sanji was kneeling beside her now, taking the empty fruit peel from her and tossing it into a small trash bowl like it was the most natural thing in the world. Her hand brushed his lightly as she thanked him. She didn’t pull away. Chopper curled into a fuzzy ball, nose wrinkled.
“I hate you,” he muttered at Sanji under his breath, resting his chin on his knees. “You stupid tall blond lady stealing cooking nerd.” He sniffed. “…I also made her tea once. And it had honey she said it was ‘the perfect sweetness.’ But I guess that doesn’t matter to anyone anymore?”
Chopper sighed deeply, the tragic sound of a tiny broken heart. “Fine. I’ll let her have her dumb fruit with her dumb cook for now. But next time,” he pointed at the sky, “She is reading a book with me”
Behind him, laughter continued to echo on the deck warm, familiar, and completely unaware of the tiny jealous doctor hiding just out of view. He tugged his little blue hat down lower over his eyes, still crouched behind the barrel. He didn’t even notice that his cheeks were redder than his nose.
“If she asks where I am,” he muttered, voice cracking a little, “I’m gonna say I was really busy doing doctor stuff. Super important. Too important to drink fruit juice or lounge around or whatever.”
he was going to be the one she shared fruit with. Not that stinky cook. …Though he might still let Sanji cut it. He was really good at that. But only the cutting! Chopper huffed again and disappeared below deck.
(๑ᵔ⤙ᵔ๑) The kitchen was quiet except for the soft hum of the refrigerator and the occasional turn of a page. Sunlight streamed in through the window above the sink, casting golden patches across the floor. Chopper lay sprawled comfortably in her lap, his head resting on her thigh, one of her hands idly stroking behind his ears as the other held the book they were reading. This, this was peace.
Finally. He had been waiting all day for this his reading time. She always made time for him. Always knew when he needed a quiet moment. A little warmth. A gentle voice. She was his big sister, as far as he was concerned. Someone he could trust, vent to, cry in front of, and fall asleep against.
He let out a soft, satisfied sigh, curling up a little tighter, eyes fluttering closed for a moment before popping back open just to look at her again.
She hadn’t said much since they sat down. She’d simply walked into the kitchen with a book tucked under her arm, spotted him reading at the table, and smiled.
“Want to finish this with me?” she asked, gently.
And just like that, he was scooped up and placed on her lap like it was his rightful throne. Because it was.
“Of course I do,” he muttered, pretending to sound grumpy even though his tail was practically wagging.
She just chuckled and opened it to the bookmarked page. Now, a few chapters in, she was reading out loud in a calm, warm voice, her tone changing with each character, even making sound effects for dramatic moments. Chopper’s ears twitched in delight with every exaggerated gasp or sneaky villain laugh she threw in.
No Sanji.
Her fingers scratched gently under his chin. “are you scared of the villain,” she teased, glancing down at him with a smirk.
“I am not!” he barked defensively, though he definitely was.
She giggled. “you always get so tense whenever there is a bad guy.”
“Well, someone has to be,” he muttered, shifting slightly and crossing his hooves. “You’d probably fall for some charming bad boy with a tragic backstory if I wasn’t around to keep you grounded.”
She raised an eyebrow, still smiling. “Oh really?”
“I’m serious!” he insisted, turning in her lap so he could face her directly, tiny hooves pressing into her stomach for balance. “You need someone who can sniff out nonsense.”
She tapped the tip of his blue nose. “That’s what I have you for, right?”
Chopper’s entire face lit up a warm pink.
“I I mean yeah, obviously,” he stammered. “That’s why I’m here. Not because I care or anything.”
She rolled her eyes fondly and returned to reading, and he curled up again, his face still warm but his heart even warmer. The kitchen door creaked open.
Chopper’s ears twitched. His eye twitched. He knew that sound. “Oi, I smelled fresh tea,” came Sanji’s voice as he stepped into the room, towel slung over his shoulder. “Need a refill, beautiful?”
Chopper immediately snapped upright in her lap, nose scrunched and shoulders raised in defensive puff mode. “She’s busy!” he snapped before she could answer, arms thrown wide like he was shielding her from a poison dart. “We’re reading!”
Sanji blinked at the sight of them.
Then smiled. “Oh, sorry, chopper. Didn’t mean to interrupt.”
“Too late, you did,” Chopper grumbled, tail flicking like an angry cat.
Sanji opened the cupboard anyway, whistling to himself like he wasn’t a walking threat to peace. The reader tried to hold back her laugh, but the amused smile on her face betrayed her. She whispered, “Chopper, he’s just making tea.”
Chopper glared up at her, eyes wide with betrayal. “Today it’s tea. Tomorrow it’s child abandonment”
She snorted. Chopper’s ear twitched. He tried to ignore him. Focus on the story. But his hooves flexed slightly against her lap. she looked up. “I promised Chopper I’d finish it with him this time. You know he hates it when we get interrupted.”
Sanji chuckled, and Chopper hated the way it sounded like he knew he was pouting.
“You’ve read that book, what, five times already?” Sanji asked, the sound of him crossing the kitchen soft but ever present. “Still your favorite?”
Chopper let out a loud exhale through his nose.
“She’s allowed to have favorites,” he grumbled, turning a page with a little too much force. “People who’ve actually read it with her would know that.”
She raised an eyebrow, amused. “You okay down there?”
“I’m fine,” he snapped, but it came out more like a whiny squeak. Sanji leaned against the counter, arms crossed, a dishtowel tossed over his shoulder
“I remember when you used to read that one to me,” Sanji said with a teasing grin.
Chopper froze. She giggled, nudging Chopper lightly with her hand. “well you probably were the first i read too.”
there it was. The dagger. Right between the ribs. Chopper’s head whipped up, face twisted into an expression of sheer betrayal. “You what?”
She blinked down at him, still smiling. “I told you that, didn’t I? Sanji and I go way back. Before even the Going Merry.”
Sanji gave a smug little wave from the stove. “She used to patch me up back when I’d get into fights at the baratie. Thought she was some wandering noble or something the way she acted.”
“And you looked like a stray dog in a too small tux,” she shot back playfully.
They both laughed. Chopper stared at them, absolutely appalled. He scrambled to sit upright in her lap, his little hooves on her thighs, glaring at her. “You knew him before me?!”
She jumped, then gave him a soft smile. “Chopper, of course I did. You joined later, remember?”
“But but you’re mine!” he protested, red faced, nostrils flaring. “I mean not like that! I just you’re my friend! You’re not supposed to have any cooler relationships before me!”
She raised an eyebrow. “Are you saying I peaked when I met you?”
“Yes!” he shouted without hesitation. “Absolutely! He’s not allowed to come in here acting like he knows all your favorite books and stories and drinks and and stuff!”
Sanji peeked over. “Relax, little man. I’m not trying to steal her from you.”
“You can’t steal what’s already mine!” Chopper huffed. “I’m her book partner!”
She reached down and cupped his cheeks with both hands. “Chopper. You are very important to me. You’re one of the best parts of this crew”
He blinked up at her, sniffling slightly. “Even if he brings you tea and cooks for you and says weird things with his stupid face?”
“whose face are you calling stupid?!???”
“Even then,” she promised, kissing his forehead.
Chopper slumped back against her, victorious but exhausted. “Good. ’Cause I was about to make a full medical report on how badly allergic you are to flirty cooks.”
Sanji just rolled his eyes and slid a plate of cookies onto the table. “Here. Peace offering.”
Chopper eyed the plate. “…Fine. But you have to read the next chapter in a silly voice to make up for it.”
She grinned. “Deal.”
Sanji smirked. “who am I?”
“ the villain,” Chopper growled, pointing at him. so she read on, switching voices and cracking up at her own impressions while Chopper munched cookies and shot Sanji a warning glare every now and then. Just in case.
(๑ᵔ⤙ᵔ๑)Chopper leapt off her lap with all the dramatic energy of someone preparing for a solo mission. His tiny hooves clacked against the kitchen floor, the book they had been reading now sitting closed and momentarily abandoned on the table.
“I’ll be right back!” he called, puffing his chest out. “I forgot the cinnamon cookies we made yesterday they’ll be perfect for this chapter. No touching the book without me!”
She raised both hands in surrender, laughing. “Wouldn’t dream of it, Doctor.”
Sanji, who had just returned from the pantry, chuckled from across the room. “Hurry back or ill take her all for myself”
“Don’t you dare!” Chopper spun around, jabbing a hoof toward him like a dagger. “She needs me! Not you!” he turned and marched off, nose in the air, grumbling something under his breath about “stupid twirly eyebrows” and “stealing all her attention.”
The door closed behind him with a soft click. As soon as it did, she leaned against the counter, head thrown back in laughter. Her chest shook with it, cheeks glowing. “Oh my god,” she said, wiping her eyes. “He gets so jealous. It’s adorable.”
“Little traitor,” Sanji muttered under his breath, but he looked more amused than offended. He placed the knife down and picked up one of the freshly sliced strawberries. “He was being sweet when I gave him cocoa last week. Cried like I gave him gold. Now I get this?”
“he’s just protective,” you offered with a shrug. “He’s been a little shadow lately. Kind of hard to miss how much he likes me.”
“I can’t miss it,” Sanji said, holding the strawberry up. “He nearly stabbed me with a toothpick when I brought you a plate of toast this morning.”
You grinned. “You’re exaggerating.”
“absolutely not”
she giggled. “He acts like I’m gonna be kidnapped or something every time I talk to you for more than three seconds.”
“Can you blame him?” Sanji asked smoothly, sliding a few bright strawberries onto a small porcelain plate. “You’re kind of everyone’s favorite.”
She smiled, still riding the end of her laughter, as she stepped a bit closer to where he stood. Her arms folded over her chest, amusement still sparkling in her eyes. Sanji plucked the ripest strawberry off the plate, holding it between his fingers “Want one?”
Her brows lifted, surprised but curious. “Sure.”
He brought it toward her lips, gaze flicking briefly from her eyes to her mouth and back again. She leaned in, slower than necessary, and bit the strawberry from his fingers, her lips brushing just barely against his skin as she did.
Sanji’s breath caught, just faintly, but he played it cool. His expression didn’t change much except for the small tug at the corner of his mouth, like he was trying not to smile too wide.
“Sweet, huh?” he murmured.
She stepped just a little closer, voice lower now. “Very.”
The air between them seemed to shift. a really weird feeling threading between glances. He didn’t move back. Neither did she. Her fingers brushed lightly along the hem of his jacket that hits the table, eyes still on his.Sanji didn’t move, eyes fixed on you with a gaze that was surprisingly quiet. Less theatrical than usual. Like something unspoken had finally clicked into place. No over the top nosebleeds. No pirouettes of passion.
“I’m hoping you’ll notice,” he replied, voice lower than a whisper.
You blinked. “Notice what?”
“That it’s always sweeter when I’m the one giving it to you.”
“Mr. Prince, aren't you a charmer, once chopper gets back you'll give him a heart attack” she teased quietly.
Sanji chuckled, but his voice had dropped too richer, softer. “Then maybe we should give him something to really panic over.”
She raised an eyebrow. “That so?”
He shrugged, stepping just a hair closer himself, their shoulders nearly brushing. “Just saying… you’re even cuter when you’re teasing him. And maybe a little when you’re teasing me, too.”
CLACK CLACK CLACK.
Chopper’s hooves echoed from the hallway. “I got the cookies!” came his excited shout.
She quickly stepped back with a sharp inhale. Sanji gave her a wink. She barely had time to recover before Chopper burst in, proudly holding a small container above his head.
“lets get back into it!!!”
No one looked suspicious. Except for Chopper who immediately squinted at them both. “…Why does it feel like something happened in here?”
She ruffled his hat as he hopped into her lap again. “You always say that.”
“I’m always right, too,” he muttered.
Sanji just whistled innocently. She just smiled, holding the book open again with a strawberry still sweet on her lips.
(๑ᵔ⤙ᵔ๑)Chopper was pacing back and forth outside the galley like a doctor about to deliver a terminal diagnosis. Which, in a way… he was. He had to say something. He couldn’t keep letting this nonsense go on. Not while Sanji kept doing that stupid, flirty, soft voiced thing around you. Not while you kept smiling back like you didn’t realize your attention was slowly being hijacked like a pirate treasure chest.
No. This was important. This was personal.
Chopper’s little hooves stomped the deck with purpose as he swung the door open and marched into the kitchen, a one reindeer intervention team. Sanji, of course, was at the counter, shirt sleeves rolled up, humming to himself while slicing peaches.
“Sanji.”
The cook didn’t even flinch. “Hey there, cotton ball. Want something?”
“No.” Chopper’s tone was sharp. Very un tea like. “We need to talk.”
Sanji raised an eyebrow, finally looking down. Way down. Down to the 2’11” reindeer in a tiny doctor’s hat standing with as much fury as he can give off.
“…Is this about my smoking habits again?” Sanji asked dryly.
Chopper took a deep breath. “It’s about her.”
That got Sanji’s attention. He set the knife down slowly. “Go on.”
Chopper marched up to him, head barely reaching Sanji’s waist, eyes locked and blazing.
“She deserves the best, Sanji! Not some loser flirt who thinks he’s charming just because women don’t slap him on sight!”
Sanji blinked. “Pardon?”
“You heard me!” Chopper said, pointing one tiny hoof directly into Sanji’s thigh. “She’s kind and warm and thoughtful and smarter than you even realize! She plays games with me and gives me cookies and listens to me ramble about red blood cells and doesn’t pretend to understand she actually does! And she makes sure I wear my scarf when it’s cold out and never once has tried to use me as bait during battle like some of you!”
“That was once and you were fine,” Sanji muttered.
Chopper glared harder.
“She deserves someone who isn’t just going to flirt with her and then wander off to compliment the next woman that walks by with long legs and a decent neckline!”
“I don’t wander,” Sanji replied calmly, lighting a cigarette. “I appreciate women. Like a gentleman.”
Chopper’s tiny hoof slapped his own face in disbelief. “You’re missing the point!”
Sanji leaned down now, towering like a polite skyscraper over the small doctor. “No, no, I get your point. You think you’re protecting her from me. But what you don’t get, fluffball…”
He exhaled smoke with a slow, smug grin. “…is that no one is stopping me from flirting with a woman I like.”
Chopper’s jaw dropped. “Are you are you bragging right now?!”
Sanji leaned casually on the counter, looking bored. “I’m informing you.”
“You’re ridiculous!” Chopper shouted, throwing his hooves up. “You think just because you’re tall and have a deep voice and twirl vegetables like a ballerina that you can just flirt with anyone and it’ll work?!”
Sanji raised one eyebrow. “…Yes.”
Chopper stomped. “SHE’S DIFFERENT!”
Sanji’s eyes flickered, but he didn’t respond.
“You can’t treat her like you treat everyone else,” Chopper continued, a little breathless now. “She’s not just another pretty girl passing by. She’s ours. Part of the crew. Part of me.” His voice cracked slightly. “She makes me feel like I’m still her little brother even when I mess up. She’s not some girl you write poems about and then forget a port later!”
Sanji didn’t move. The smoke from his cigarette drifted between them like fog.
Chopper’s voice was softer now. “She’s someone worth holding onto. Someone who deserves more.”
The kitchen went quiet for a moment. Finally, Sanji took a slow breath. Flicked some ash into the tray. And then He crouched all the way down until he was eye level with Chopper.
His smirk was gone. No playful glint in his eye. “…You’re right,” he said, voice low. “She is different.”
Chopper blinked. “And yeah,” Sanji continued, “I flirt too much. I know that. But I also know the difference between a passing crush and someone who makes me want to change how I’ve always been.”
Chopper’s ears twitched.
“I don’t flirt with her because I do it with everyone else,” Sanji said, “I flirt with her because I mean it. And if she ever wanted me to stop, I would.”
Chopper stared. Sanji stood again, stretching his back, the moment of vulnerability already hidden beneath his usual demeanour. “But until then?” He turned with a grin, walking back to the counter. “You’ll have to deal with it, Doc.”
He tossed a peach slice down to Chopper’s hooves.
“For energy. Your next monologue might need it.”
Chopper glared up at him, absolutely fuming. This not how he thought this would go. “…That doesn’t mean I forgive you.”
“Didn’t ask you to.”
“You’re on thin ice, cook.” Chopper stormed off in a rage,
The pantry door creaked quietly as you pushed it open. You hadn’t meant to eavesdrop at first (really), but you and Sanji had been tucked in the corner near the spice rack, giggling and flirting in your little secret bubble, when Chopper had burst in like a one man rebellion in a child sized hat.
You and Sanji had scrambled. You into the pantry. Sanji into “innocent chef mode.” and Chopper, full of bluster and big feelings, had delivered what could only be described as a heartfelt beatdown.
You’d heard everything.You waited a beat. Two.
Sanji sighed softly and turned back to the counter, like the moment had never happened.
Which was your cue.
So now, here you were stepping into the galley with a soft smile on your face and love pooling in your chest like sunshine through a windowpane.
Sanji hadn’t noticed you yet. He stood at the counter, one hand braced on the wood, the other rubbing the back of his neck, a bit stunned by everything. You could tell from the slight slump of his shoulders that Chopper’s words had hit deep.
Which made what you were about to do even better.
You sprinted two steps and launched yourself onto his back, arms wrapping around his neck, legs around his waist, giggling into his ear.
“My boys love me sooo much~!”
Sanji jumped so hard he almost dropped the knife he’d just picked up. “ah! thought you left”
You snorted into his shoulder, absolutely delighted. “I heard everything,” you murmured, pressing your nose to his skin. He was warm. Always warm.
“You were hiding the entire time?” he asked, setting the knife down and grabbing your thighs to hold you in place. “You just let me get verbally mauled by a miniature moose?”
“I just wanted to see if there was a reason if i had to scold chopper”
“Your perfume’s all over the spice rack. I should have known you never left” he mutters while steadying you.
You nuzzled into the crook of his neck, pressing a soft kiss there before resting your chin on his shoulder. “You handled him well. ”
Sanji’s arms looped under your legs, effortlessly hoisting you higher. “That’s ‘cause he’s right. He’s got good instincts, even if he’s two feet tall and about to bite my ankles.”
You laughed and tapped his cheek gently. “You really meant all that?”
His voice dropped a little while blushing “Every word.”
You exhaled softly against his collar, smile curling into something gentler than before. “Guess that’s why I’m in love with you?”
Sanji let out a low laugh. “Well I'm in love with you.”
you teased. “All ‘don’t tell the crew yet’ is such BS, ‘I want to take our time, I don’t want to be the center of a love circus on the Sunny.’”
“Because the minute Luffy finds out, he’s going to ask if meat will be at the wedding.”
“…Okay, yeah, fair.”
Sanji set you down on the counter, stepping between your legs and resting his hands at your hips. “You’re worth keeping to myself a little longer,” he said softly. “But not because I’m ashamed.”
Your hand reached up to brush a strand of hair from his eyes. “I know.”
He leaned in, about to kiss you when
“I FORGOT MY SPOON !”
The door slammed back open.
Sanji froze. You froze. Chopper froze in the doorway with his ridiculous novelty spoon raised like a sword… and slowly registered the scene. You, sitting on the counter. Sanji, standing between your legs. Both of you very close. Very suspiciously close. Chopper’s eye twitched.
“…how…. when….”
You winced. “Okay, um Chopper, I can explain ”
“TRAITOR!” Chopper shouted at you, full betrayal in his eyes.
Then he turned to Sanji, pointing his spoon like it was about to channel the wrath of ten thousand thunder gods. “AND YOU ! YOU DON’T DESERVE HER, WOMANIZER!”
Sanji turned red. “That's a big word for elmo!”
Chopper screamed. Then turned and bolted from the room again, yelling over his shoulder:
“I’M TELLING LUFFY!”
You and Sanji stared at the swinging door. “…Well,” you said slowly, “…so much for a secret.”
Sanji groaned, head dropping onto your shoulder.
“what's up with telling ‘dad’”
You snorted, kissed the top of his head, and whispered with a grin. “sorry my love but i guess we should get going”
The Little Things
Pairing: Trafalgar Law x Strawhat Reader
You were walking through the ship’s halls when you heard a familiar voice. “Hey, Y/N!”
It was Chopper, and he was looking up at you with his usual big eyes. “Hi, Chopper!” you greeted, bending down to his level.
Chopper bounced in excitement, his little hooves tapping against the floor. “Do you have any candy today?”
You smiled and reached into your bag. You always carried a few sweet treats with you for moments like this. “Here you go, just for you.”
Chopper grinned widely as he took the candy from your hand. “Thanks! You’re the best!”
You chuckled at his enthusiasm. “I just like to see you happy, Chopper.”
A quiet sound came from the doorway, and you looked up to see Law standing there, arms crossed, leaning against the wall. He was watching you and Chopper, his gaze intense but unreadable.
Chopper didn’t notice, but you felt the weight of Law’s stare. You waved it off, focusing back on the little reindeer. “Enjoy, okay?” you said with a soft smile.
Law watched you for a moment longer, before walking off without a word.
——
The days passed as usual. You continued to bring Chopper little candies from time to time, just because you liked seeing his smile. Chopper had a habit of getting sad or stressed when things were tough, so a sweet little gesture was your way of lifting his mood.
One evening, you found yourself sitting next to Chopper on the deck, enjoying the cool breeze. You pulled out your bag and started to reach for a candy, but before you could open it, you saw Chopper holding out a piece of candy, already unwrapped and ready.
“Here, Y/N,” he said, grinning. “I saved you some!”
You laughed. “That’s sweet, Chopper. But you know I’ve got plenty.”
Chopper giggled, his big cute eyes sparkling. “I like sharing candy with you!”
From the edge of the deck, Law was leaning against the railing, watching the two of you with an unreadable expression. You didn’t notice him, as you were focused on Chopper. Law stood there for a long time before turning and disappearing into the ship’s interior, his footsteps light.
You paused for a moment. It was odd. It felt like he had been watching you, but you couldn’t be sure.
—-
That evening, you were outside again, enjoying the stars. You weren’t sure why you always found solace in the night sky, but it gave you a sense of peace.
You were so caught up in the stars that you didn’t notice Law approaching. He sat down beside you silently, leaning back against the railing. You glanced over and offered him a smile.
“Enjoying the view?” you asked, your voice light.
“Mm,” Law responded, his gaze following the stars in the sky. There was a strange quietness to him tonight. Usually, Law was pretty quiet, but tonight, it seemed deeper, as if he had something on his mind.
“You know, you’re not much for talking, huh?” you teased, nudging him lightly with your shoulder.
He turned his head slightly to look at you. “Not really,” he replied, voice low and calm.
You chuckled softly. “Fair enough. But it’s nice having someone around who appreciates the quiet.”
“Yeah,” he agreed, his eyes softening slightly. “I don’t mind the silence. It feels… more real.”
You looked at him, trying to gauge the meaning behind his words. But before you could ask, he turned his attention back to the horizon, and the moment passed.
——
The island was bustling, and you were taking a break with the crew after a particularly intense battle. The streets were lively, filled with the sound of traders and laughter, but something felt off. You glanced around and noticed Chopper, sitting by a bench in the corner, his face buried in his hooves.
Your heart tightened. You walked over, crouching down next to him. “Hey, Chopper, what’s wrong?”
Chopper didn’t answer immediately, just sniffled, clutching his small hands to his chest. He was usually so full of energy, so this was unlike him.
“I… tried to use the rumble medicine,” he said softly, his voice filled with disappointment. “I thought it would work, like last time. But it didn’t. I tried so hard, but it just didn’t help me.”
You frowned. You knew how much Chopper wanted to be stronger, to help everyone with his abilities, especially after the rough fight. You reached out, gently patting his back.
“Hey, it’s okay,” you said, offering a comforting smile. “The rumble medicine isn’t the only thing that makes you valuable, you know?”
“I know,” he said, voice trembling. “But… I wanted to help. I thought if I could just be stronger… maybe I could be more useful to everyone.”
You frowned, feeling your heart ache for him. Chopper had always been so hard on himself, even though the crew loved him and depended on him just the way he was.
You hesitated for a moment, knowing just how much Chopper loved sweet treats, and how it always seemed to lift his spirits. You had a small bag of candy for him in your bag, something you always carried with you for moments like this. But then, you suddenly realized—you had left your bag back on the ship.
You sighed quietly to yourself, feeling a pang of disappointment. You had wanted to comfort him, but without the candy, you were unsure what else could help.
“Hey, it’s okay,” you said, giving him a reassuring smile. “You’ve done more than enough, Chopper. You’re already strong, even without the rumble medicine. You don’t need to prove anything to anyone.”
But just as you were about to continue, you heard a familiar voice behind you.
“What’s going on here?” Law’s voice was calm, as usual, but there was something softer in it today. You turned to see him standing nearby, his hands in his pockets, looking at you and Chopper.
You blinked, not expecting him to be here. “Oh, hey, Law… Chopper’s just feeling down. The rumble medicine didn’t work like he thought it would, and now he’s feeling a little useless.”
Law’s eyes softened slightly as he reached into his coat. “I happened to have a few of these on me,” he said, pulling out a small bag of candy. “Chopper seems like he could use one.”
You looked at him, a little stunned. “Law… you?”
You couldn’t help but smile at the exchange. Law’s quiet kindness spoke volumes, and in that moment, you realized how much he had picked up on the little things you did for Chopper. He wasn’t one for grand gestures, but he understood, just like you did, how important these small moments of care were.
The air felt lighter now, Chopper’s mood visibly brighter, and you felt a warmth spread through your chest. As Chopper happily munched on the candy, you shared a brief, almost imperceptible glance with Law. His quiet act of understanding had said more than words ever could.
——
Later that evening, you found yourself alone on the deck, gazing at the stars. Your mind kept replaying the events of the day—how unexpected and small the gesture from Law had been. You never imagined he’d take notice of something so simple.
Footsteps broke your thoughts, and you turned to see Law approaching.
“You seem lost in thought,” he remarked, stopping beside you. “What’s on your mind?”
You offered him a soft smile. “Just thinking about today… about how kind you were to Chopper.”
He glanced at you briefly, his usual poker face in place. “It wasn’t a big deal.”
You gave him a teasing look. “Really? Because it seemed like one to me.”
“You seemed to care a lot about Chopper,” Law finally spoke up after a long pause. “You’ve done that before—brought him candy. You… you like making him happy.”
You nodded, slightly surprised that he had noticed. “Yeah, he loves it. And sometimes, he just needs a little something to brighten his day.”
There was a brief silence. Then Law shifted, his voice softer this time. “It’s not just that. I’ve seen the way you patch up Luffy’s wounds before he even asks. How you always save the last snack for someone else. The way you always remember what makes people smile.”
You blinked, warmth blooming in your chest. His words were quiet, but they held weight.
“You care about the little things,” he continued, his gaze meeting yours. “Chopper, the crew, the things that make them happy. I guess… it stands out to me. How you’re always looking out for them.”
There was a brief moment of silence, and you noticed Law glance at you, his expression unreadable but soft in a way that was rare for him.
You blinked, unsure where he was going with this. “It’s just… what I do. They’re important to me.”
Law shifted slightly, more focused now. “You always care. Even in the smallest stuff.”
You felt your chest tighten, unsure if you fully understood what he was getting at. “And what does that have to do with you?”
He turned to face you, his voice a bit quieter now. “It’s because I’ve started to care about what you care about. What you love.”
You stared at him, eyes wide as the realization settled in. It was a simple thing, but it felt like a weight had shifted between you. Law, in his quiet, subtle way, had acknowledged that he cared for you, too.
He gave a small, almost imperceptible smile before he added, “I love what you love.”
You weren’t used to crowds.
And right now, that was a problem—because you were very much in one. A particularly sweaty, loud, and increasingly hostile one. The Straw Hats had docked at a lively but rough port for supplies, and in an unfortunate twist of fate, you’d gotten separated from the crew while browsing a small weapons stall.
Now you were surrounded by a group of sneering pirates, each one more obnoxious than the last, forming a loose circle around you like a pack of hyenas smelling blood.
“Aww, what’s wrong, sweetheart?” one of them leered, waving a cutlass lazily at your side. “Cat got your tongue?”
“She ain’t said a word,” another said, voice thick with mockery. “Too scared, huh?”
“She’s shaking,” a third laughed. “Bet she can’t even hold a sword properly.”
They were right about one thing: you hadn’t spoken. But it wasn’t fear that silenced you—it was them. Strangers. Eyes. Loud voices demanding a reaction.
Your throat felt tight. The words—simple ones, just leave me alone—were locked behind a door your mind couldn’t open. So you did what you always did when this happened.
You stared.
Expression blank. Shoulders loose. Breathing calm.
The mask of silence you wore never failed to make people underestimate you.
And right on cue, the biggest of the group stepped forward, cocky and smug. “C’mon, sweetheart. Say somethin’. Just one word.”
You tilted your head and blinked at him slowly.
He leaned in closer, thinking you were cornered prey.
And that’s when he made his mistake.
He reached out—fingertips brushing your collarbone, tugging at your cloak—like you were some kind of doll to poke and prod.
You whispered, barely audible: “Don’t touch me.”
He blinked. “What was that—”
And then you moved.
—
The first crack was his ribs.
You didn’t look strong. That was your favorite part about this whole thing. Small frame, loose clothes, no visible weapon. You’d always been dismissed as fragile, silent, soft.
But that was before your elbow shattered the man’s chestplate and launched him backward into a fruit stand. The market screamed and scattered. In seconds, chaos erupted.
Two more charged at you from either side. You twisted—agile, fluid—and drove a sharp heel into one’s temple while catching the other’s blade between your fingers. Not even a scratch.
He stared at you in shock.
You smiled sweetly.
Then bent the sword in half like it was tinfoil.
“Oh, she’s weird,” one pirate shrieked.
“Demon!” another cried.
You crouched low and pressed your palm to the ground. There was a faint ripple of energy, subtle and shimmering. A deep hum thrummed beneath the earth. Then the cobblestones exploded, launching your remaining attackers into the air like popcorn kernels.
Psychic force, compressed and sharp like a blade of wind. You didn’t need to speak to cast—just focus. Just want.
—
Across the square, the Straw Hats had heard the explosion before they saw you.
“What was that?!” Usopp shouted, ducking behind Franky.
“I think the market’s being destroyed!” Nami yelled.
“Could be marines,” Sanji muttered.
“Could be her,” Zoro said suddenly, eyes narrowing.
“Huh?” Chopper squeaked.
Zoro didn’t answer. He was already walking toward the noise.
—
When they arrived, the square was in shambles.
Stalls crushed. Dust everywhere. Six pirates knocked out cold. A seventh trying to crawl away with only one shoe and his pride in pieces.
And you—standing alone in the middle of it all, clothes scuffed but otherwise untouched, casually spinning a small rock above your palm with lazy telekinesis.
You looked up when they approached. Your eyes locked with Luffy’s first.
You expected him to be surprised.
Instead, he beamed.
“THAT WAS AWESOME!” he yelled, running up to you like a kid seeing fireworks for the first time. “You exploded the GROUND!”
You blinked, unsure how to respond.
Zoro whistled low. “You’re stronger than you look.”
Nami was wide-eyed. “Why didn’t you say anything?”
You shrugged, still spinning the rock.
Robin tilted her head, looking more curious than shocked. “Psychic ability,” she murmured. “Very rare. You must have excellent control.”
Sanji, meanwhile, was clutching his chest. “Mon dieu… she flipped a man with her foot. I am in love. I am ascending.”
You rolled your eyes.
Chopper scrambled up your shoulder, stars in his eyes. “Can you teach me that thing you did with the sword?!”
You raised a brow, then made the rock hover in front of him. He squealed in delight.
Usopp ducked behind Luffy. “Can she read minds?! Wait—can she read MY mind?!”
You smirked. Then deliberately looked at him and said nothing.
He screamed and ran behind a barrel.
And through it all, Luffy never stopped smiling.
—
Later, back on the Sunny, Luffy found you sitting at the railing, watching the sea. The sun was setting, sky turning to amber and pink. You didn’t hear him approach, but you felt him sit beside you.
You glanced at him, then looked away.
He leaned closer. “You okay?”
You nodded.
“You don’t talk a lot,” he said, not as a complaint, just a statement.
You shook your head.
“But you can.”
You hesitated. Then leaned in, gently cupping your hands around his ear.
“I only speak when it matters,” you whispered.
He grinned. “It mattered earlier?”
You nodded again.
He sat back, still smiling. “Good. Then I’ll wait. ‘Til it matters again.”
You stared at him for a second longer. Then reached out, flicked his forehead gently with a little psychic zap.
He flinched. “Hey!”
You didn’t reply. Just smirked.
He grinned wider.
“You’re cool shishishishi,” he said.
And you finally let yourself laugh—quiet, barely audible, but real.
They’d seen your power now. The cat was out of the bag.
But you still had a hundred secrets left to keep.
And the crew?
They were just getting started.
is this love? | monkey d. luffy x fem!reader
you had caught his attention from the moment he met you, and now he knew exactly why. these feelings were both enticing and petrifying, suddenly filled with guilt for being so unprofessional. although, monkey d. luffy has never been a man of tradition...
word count: 6.4k
tags: fem!reader, a lil angsty (brief mentions of insecurity), best friend!usopp and best friend!nami, shifting perspectives between reader and luffy (most of it in luffy’s pov), some suggestive content but no smut, hardly proofread oops, lots of fluff tho! inspired by ‘is this love?’ - bob marley & the wailers :)
the sun hung high in the sky, it's warm rays spreading across your skin, transforming it into a glistening bronze. it was a leisurely time on the thousand sunny, the chaos of battle behind the crew and a ways away in the new world. you finally had time to yourself, taking advantage of the tranquility that lingered in the air. all morning, you participated in self-care activities — from enjoying a long, steamy bath without disruptions from your male crew mates, to dedicating quiet time on the deck to finish the rest of the book Robin lent you while you tanned in your admittedly-skimpy bikini. however, the peaceful silence become suddenly unsettling, your heart beginning to race as you became increasingly anxious. your senses had been already been deprived, the sun blazing just behind the thin layer of your eyelids, the wind’s pace picking up and swarming into your ears. where is everybody?
as if you had summoned them, the door to the sunny’s common area swung open, slamming so hard against the wooden panels you thought it created a dent. three figures emerged carrying vibrant weapons that sprayed a mysterious liquid. before you could react, the salty liquid covered your entire body, small icy squirts piercing through your skin accompanied by shouts and belly laughter.
“get her, Usopp!!” a high-pitched voice rang, giggling uncontrollably as they swarm around you. Luffy and Usopp surround you, boxing you in while you sat there stunned and helpless in your seat. it turns out that Usopp had manufactured a new weapon — although, it’s sole purpose was to terrorize you and the rest of the crew rather than the foes you’d soon face in the new world. Chopper had made himself comfortable while he rested on the shoulders of the surprisingly sculpted man before you, Usopp’s brown skin glistening with sweat and seawater. Luffy stood beside you, his pronounced abs directly in your eye sight as he gazed his pearly grin upon you. the proximity of his heaving, sweaty body beside you made your cheeks flush, hoping the rubber man wouldn’t notice as you stare a little too longingly into his eyes.
the fondness you’d grown for your captain slowly bloomed into an unrequited crush over time — constantly reminding yourself that he has bigger things to worry about than working his way into your heart. the weight of his effect on you was suffocating at times, almost like “an exhausting burden that sucked the life out of me,” you had described to Nami once. it was unnecessarily distracting the way you couldn’t keep your eyes off of him — sneaking glances at dinnertime as he ravaged his meal, always looking for him during a battle to ensure his safety over your own, fumbling over your words and avoiding eye contact whenever he would approach you. his blissful ignorance to your coy advances didn’t make it any better, he always assumed you were just teasing him.
“hey! what’s the big idea, huh?” you griped, shouting at the group for splashing the crisp pages of the book on your lap. Robin is gonna kill me. “i’m gonna wring your neck for soaking Robin’s book! you know she's gonna my head, dumbasses!”
“awww c’mon [y/n]! it’s just a little water! what are you, scared or something?” Luffy teased, quirking his thin eyebrows.
“just a little water, huh? we’ll see about that,” you retorted, shifting your shocked expression to something more sinister and calculated. The sudden change of your demeanor stunned the young men before you, each of them exchanging quick glances before turning tail to flee. before they could do so, you lean over, clutching onto Luffy’s strong arms to steal the water-gun from his hands. the swiftness in which you moved didn’t give him enough time to react, a surprising feat considering how agile he can be. the slick from the sweat-seawater mixture that coated his body caused your hands to slip, gliding across his firm biceps and feeling every vein and scar that marks his skin. you were able to find dry patch on his wrist, clasping it in your hands and ridding him of the weapon.
“hey what the-!” Luffy exclaimed, arms thrown up into the air, leaving him perfectly vulnerable to your attack. you aimed the gun straight at the area between his eyes, the espresso-colored irises following its barrel. ocean water squirts right where you want it, waves of obsidian becoming soaked and falling over his eyes. Luffy shakes his head to rid his eyes and hair of the salty water, directing its droplets to you when he hears your squeals of shock. a large splash hits your spine as Usopp and Chopper team up against you, firing their “ammo” whilst you were distracted. you turned your attention to them, your initial anger subsiding into an invigorating rush of adrenaline as you charged toward them, laughing and screaming.
“Luffy, grab her!” Usopp commands over his shoulder, shielding himself from your relentless attack. before you could comprehend the command, you’re suddenly swept off your feet, kicking your long silky legs as a pair of strong arm wraps around your waist and hoist you up.
“Luffy! put me down!” you pleaded, giggles being pushed out of you as Luffy presses firmly on your stomach. he shifts your entire weight into his arms, hooking one of his arms under your legs as he carries you bridal-style. Instinctively, you wrap your arms around his neck, pressing your bare chest against his, breathing in tandem as he carries you toward the commotion. your breasts graze against the large “x” scarred into his chest, the textured skin creating a sense of friction that causes your stomach to flutter. you hadn’t noticed, but you had been breathing dangerously close to the crook of his neck as you held yourself close to him. selfishly, you wished this silly quarrel never ended, just so you could hold onto Luffy’s touch for a little while longer…
…
Luffy and Usopp had been scheming all morning — huddled and hushed in the corner of the boy’s quarters as Usopp made the finishing touches to his new contraptions. their sudden bursts of rambunctious laughter had earned its fair share of glares from Zoro, who had been resting peacefully in his hammock. they had been compiling a list of unsuspecting victims to test their weapons on — automatically ruling Zoro out as he had seen the finished product. as Usopp went down the list, Luffy gave his opinion on how he think each person would react, giving amused “oooo”’s and “ahhh”’s with each name. when Usopp made his way to your name, Luffy rolled over on his back, holding his stomach as a sweet melody of belly laughter erupted from his lips.
“oh man, she’s gonna be so mad!” he exclaimed, riding through his fit of giggles.
“she's gonna kill you two, you know that right?” Zoro grumbled, peeking at the pair through his dark eyelashes. his arms crossed behind his head, hands cupped in the valley of green tufts to support his neck while he rested.
“that’s why we have to do it! [y/n] has yet to experience a taste of our pranks. c'mon Usopp, back me up here!”
Luffy’s gaze fell upon his best friend, who had still been tinkering with the gun’s trigger mechanism. Usopp’s tongue rested between his lips in concentration, briefly returning it back to it’s place as he looked over to Zoro, “he’s right, Zoro. everyone on the crew needs to experience it. it’s like a rite of passage.”
“whatever. i’m not savin’ anyone’s ass if she bugs out,” Zoro conceded, shutting his eyes for the last time as he finally drifts off to sleep.
so that’s exactly what they did — stealthily monitoring your every move throughout the morning, lurking within dark corners of the ship to catch you in a vulnerable position. and, unbeknownst to yourself, you set the perfect trap when you decided to bask in the midday sun with your funny little book.
now, Luffy carried you in his firm grasp — cradling you close as he dodged the fire from Usopp and Chopper’s offense. the seawater sprayed upon your exposed body caused you to slip from his grasp, Luffy’s fingers sliding from the slick pooling between the creases in your thighs and waist. with every passing moment, his grasp on you became looser and looser. eventually, you were able to break free — using your freedom to take control and tackle Luffy, fighting him for his weapon.
the two of you tussled on the warm patch of grass that coated the deck, arms and legs beginning to itch from the constant scratching. Luffy had fought many dangerous foes before, but they were no match for your strength and determination. he felt himself losing, your thighs pinning his waist to the ground as you firmly parked yourself on his lap. you used one of your free hands to pin his wrists against the pillowy grass beneath the two of you, the other hand spinning the toy gun with incredible ease.
you rested the gun between the small space where his dark eyebrows met, a sly smirk dancing across your lips, “gotcha.”
the air surrounding the two of you abruptly became thick, Luffy’s breath hitching in his throat despite the quickened rise and fall of his chest. why is she so heavy all of a sudden?
the height of the sun once again casted its beaming rays onto you — only this time, you had an unexpected audience. your soaked hair had draped over one of your exposed shoulders, the saltwater accentuating natural waves that ran through it. the suns rays allowed the seawater that coated your skin to glisten, droplets shimmering over the curve of your thighs and boobs and ass and—
wait.
Luffy found his heart racing against his thoughts, thumping violently in his chest. an unfamiliar warmth pooled at the base of his abdomen, sparking into a living flame that kindled and fluttered throughout his body. the warmth suddenly became overwhelming, his cheeks and neck flushing with every passing moment. the blissful fluttering in his belly transformed into an unbearable wave of nausea, anxiety rising in his chest. what the hell is going on???
without much thought, Luffy abruptly twists his hips from beneath you, causing you to lose your balance. you rolled onto the grass, propping yourself up on your elbows as you watched Luffy briskly walk away, the muscles in his back working as he hurriedly swung his arms back and forth.
“hey, are you okay?” you called out, concern filling your chest.
even the sound of your voice put Luffy on edge, worried that you would catch on to his sudden change in demeanor. he flashed you a quick smile over his shoulder, his pearly teeth shining in the sun as they gritted against each other, “yeah, i’m fine! i think i just ate too fast is all. i’m gonna go lie down for a bit.”
the moment he returned to face the rest of the sunny, his smile fell. Luffy made his way down to the boys quarters, finding his bed and flopping face down into the mattress. he released a sigh that could’ve pushed all the air from his lungs had he tried just a little harder. the weight on his chest made him wish that he could do just that, hoping that such a simple remedy would cure his sudden ailment. becoming so overwhelmed by an unfamiliar feeling unsettled Luffy. he had always been so used to being sure of himself — never thinking twice about challenging emperors and soldiers with bounties that dulled his own in comparison.
the thoughts that raced through his mind caused him to toss and turn, ruffling the already-disturbed sheets from beneath him. falling asleep was always second nature to Luffy — the act of simply resting his head was enough to make him drift off to sleep. but now, he couldn’t stop thinking. images of your soaked body flashed behind his closed eyelids, the droplets of water traveling down your navel burned into his memory. Luffy released a loud groan of frustration, palms digging into his eyes as he pulled at the jet-black hair that draped across his forehead. dramatically, he kicked the sheets that became tangled between his legs, limbs flailing and begging to be set free.
Luffy’s thoughts nearly suffocated him, anxiety rising in his throat as he came to the realization that something was seriously wrong. he hopped out of bed, immediately swinging open the door and making his way over to Chopper’s medical ward. his loud footsteps echoed through the narrowed hallway, large feet slapping against the floor as he charged straight to the familiar door. Luffy lingered a while before knocking, fidgeting with his calloused hands as he worked up the courage to admit that he was sick. he was always used to taking care of his crew that he often felt bad for worrying them about his own problems.
“hey Chopper, you in there?” he asked gently, lips pressed against the crack of the door.
a small “hm?” was heard before the sound of hooves scuffling against the wooden floor made their way closer to Luffy. Chopper opened the door, curiously inspecting his captain as he stepped inside. Luffy jumped onto the examination table, the weight of his butt slamming against its surface caused some nearby vials to rattle.
“what’s wrong, Luffy? did you get into Sanji’s knives again? he told you not to do ‘three-knife style’ anymore!!” Chopper scolded, worried that his friend ticked off the ship’s cook. “if you make him mad again he’ll give the rest of your dinner away to Nami and Robin.”
under normal circumstances, Luffy would have entertained the idea, arguing that mastering such an artistic fighting style would only help in improve his chances of becoming king of the pirates. however, this day had been far from normal — nerves once again bubbling up to the surface, making his mouth go sour as his thin brows furrowed together. “i think something’s wrong with me Chopper. like, seriously wrong.”
Chopper’s blue nose twitched as the expression on his face shifted from amusement to concern. panicked, he shuffled his way over to Luffy, grabbing his blue medical bag to assess his condition. he noticed the way Luffy clutched at his stomach, fingers lingering over the small tissue that covered his belly button. Chopper tenderly pressed on his abdomen, testing whether or not his friend is suffering from something internal, “does this hurt?”
Luffy shook his head, sighing heavily as he laid down on his back. “it’s not a stomachache i don’t think, it’s something…different. i can’t put my finger on it.”
“well, what do you mean? maybe if you tell my your symptoms, i can make a treatment plan to help you feeling good as new!”
Luffy smiled at his generosity, mentally patting himself on the back for choosing such a caring doctor to manage his crew. he chewed on the soft tissue inside his mouth, contemplating different ways to list out his symptoms. when that didn’t work, he just let his mouth run, word vomit pouring out of him seemed to be the way to go.
“it all started when we were on the deck playing with the water guns. my heart started to race and my cheeks got super hot, like my face was on fire! my palms got super sweaty too — like way more than usual so that made me even more nervous cause i almost never sweat. and then my stomach — oh my god my stomach — it felt like all of my organs did a flip! i haven’t felt that way since Katakuri spun me around in the mirror world, and even then it didn’t feel nearly as bad as it did just now! i seriously thought i was about to yack all over [y/n] if i didn’t get off the floor.”
Chopper stared at him wide-eyed, his breathing becoming rapid as he worked to piece the puzzle of Luffy’s sudden illness together. as Luffy continued, Chopper became increasingly more nervous, each of his symptoms sounding a little too close to a virus he had done some reading on earlier that week. he had read that the mystery disease came from ingesting a rare bacteria that thrived off of hot, humid climates and the salt from ocean water — which had coincidently been the exact conditions the straw hats had been sailing through for the past few days. Chopper’s “brave doctor” act slowly begins to deteriorate as Luffy continues to list his symtoms, “-and my chest got super tight, like someone was squeezing my heart and wringing out my soul”
tears welled up in Chopper’s eyes, a small trail of snot running out of his blue nose. the sound of his sniffling pulled Luffy out of his thoughts, returning his attention to his furry friend. “Chopper? what’s wrong buddy? was it something i said!?”
losing the battle of fighting back his tears, Chopper began to wail and turned around to flee the room. Luffy charged after him, puzzled as to why he would suddenly burst into tears. it turned out that Chopper was making his way to the kitchen, seeking comfort from Nami and Sanji, who had been preparing the crew’s next meal. the aroma of chicken and vegetables filled the room, the delicious scent traveling to the rest of the ship as the door swung wide open.
“hey! if the two of you are gonna horse around, then do it outside! i’m cooking here-“ Sanji shouted, cautiously swinging his knife to point in the direction of the deck.
“LUFFY’S GONNA DIE!” Chopper cried, ending Sanji’s sentence short and gaining the attention from the chef and his unexpected partner. bewildered, the pair turned to face the intruders, fear becoming apparent on both of their faces.
loud, thunderous footsteps had suddenly come to a halt upon entering the room, Luffy caught the swinging door with his large palm before shouting, “I’M WHAT?!”
“i’m sure that’s not true, Chopper. now what’s actually going on?!” Nami asked, her tone soft with reassurance. she had been chopping carrots and celery to accompany Sanji’s dish, the blade coming dangerously close to her long fingers upon the interruption. Chopper had run up to Nami, seeking comfort in her lap as he nuzzled his face into her thighs, wiping his tears on the pair of denim jeans she wore.
“all of his symptoms line up with a specific virus i was doing some reading on the other week! i don’t have the proper herbs to cure it in my collection! i’m so sorry,” Chopper said, the last part muffled as he hid his face behind his small hooves.
“well what were the symptoms? maybe you’re just jumping to conclusions buddy,” Sanji soothed, his raspy voice always softer when speaking to Chopper. with that, Chopper turned to Luffy with glossy eyes and snot dribbling down his chin, nodding his head for him to share his symptoms. so much for doctor-patient confidentiality.
Luffy huffed a deep breath, preparing for his crew to decide his fate, “fine. i dunno…when we were messing around on the deck, my chest just got real tight all of a sudden — and not from all the running around. it was…different, like an aching almost.” Luffy balled his hand into a fist, mimicking the tightness in his chest. “and my stomach started fluttering and burning, like way deep down. i’d never felt anything like that before in my life. and the weirdest part was that it didn’t hurt, but it actually felt kinda good for a moment…”
the words from Luffy’s rosy lips trailed off as he returned his gaze back to his crew, their faces shockingly calm and…happy? “why are you guys looking at me like that? what’s wrong with me??”
the door to the kitchen swung open once more, Zoro walking in and holding from a half-empty bottle of sake. “sounds like you’re in love,” he joked, chuckling as he brought the rim to his mouth and taking a long swig. Sanji began to berate him for being so selfish, claiming that the bottle he was so carelessly drinking from was meant for “special occasions only, dumbass!”
Luffy blew a raspberry through his lips, “yeah right! i’ve never even had a crush on anyone! that’s just gross, plus that’s Sanji’s job!”
“i don’t know Luffy, what you just described sounds exactly what i feel when i look at my sweet Nami and Robin!” Sanji cooed, his tongue lolling out of his mouth and smooching kisses in Nami’s direction.
Nami, not even flinching at Sanji’s advances, asked more questions to investigate Luffy’s condition, “well, did it happen when you were looking at anyone in particular..?” despite being known for her independence, Nami was very in tune with romance — always picking up on queues and indulging in romance fiction that Robin would entertain her with. the moment she asked the question, Luffy’s demeanor shifted.
“well...kinda. it happened when i was holding onto [y/n]” Luffy said, voice unfamiliarly low and shy. the entire room erupted in laughter, teasing Luffy for sweating something so normal. Chopper sighed with relief, glad to know that his friend wasn’t dying. Nami giggled and punched Luffy’s arm playfully, “you do have a crush, ya dope!”
Zoro slapped his back with an extra-heavy hand, his slight drunkenness causing him to lose control of his strength. something inside Luffy finally clicked, a brief moment of relief soothed his soul before the gravity of the situation came down on his shoulders like a fright train. the cacophonous laughter began to blend into a ringing in Luffy’s ears, overwhelmed with the information. he huffed a quick laugh and turned to make his way back to the boy’s quarters. what the hell?
…
Luffy couldn’t sleep that night, his eyes straining to carve out the grooves inside the wood that lay above him in the dark. everytime he closed his eyes, all he could see was you — the way your hips curved, your pillowy thighs plush across his lap, the small constellation of moles and freckles that sprinkled across your smooth skin. his cheeks flushed just at the thought, thanking every power up above that the room was dark and everyone was fast asleep. the racing of his heart was no match for the speed at which his mind ran, however, disgustingly sweet thoughts flooding his senses.
the brief moments of sleep he did get were interrupted by dreams about you. he pictured the way your warmth would feel beside him, entangled in his sheets and his arms after a long night of peaceful sleep. the rising sun’s glow landed on you just right, illuminating the soft skin on your bare back. your cheeks were colored with a soft, sleepy blush, the rise and fall of your back as you breathed soothed all his anxieties. your eyes had a softness to them that tugged at his heart as they stared into his own with contentment, your dark lashes still heavy with sleep. your plush lips fixed themselves into a smile, mumbling something that was inaudible to Luffy’s rosy ears. whatever you said didn’t matter, as your lips met his and morphed together into a soft kiss. morning breath be damned, he found himself drinking you in, touching every part of you, attempting to commit it to memory. however, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t remember exactly how you felt, the fuzziness of the dream clouding his senses. the dream felt like a warm embrace, a tight grasp that he wouldn’t mind staying in for just a little while longer…
when he woke up, Luffy opened his eyes to the empty spot in his bed — you nowhere to be found. your absence led Luffy’s heart to ache, feeling like he was missing a piece of him. this newfound discovery about himself tied loose ends in his life that he couldn’t quite pinpoint — he wasn’t sure why he always made sure you were okay during a battle, why you were the reason behind his motivations for improvement, why he always caught himself sneaking glances at you during meal and leisurely time. you had caught his attention from the moment he met you, and now he knew exactly why. these feelings were both enticing and petrifying, Luffy suddenly filled with guilt for being so unprofessional. although, Monkey D. Luffy has never been a man of tradition.
…
the past few days had been a blur for Luffy, constantly lost in his own thoughts. he started becoming hyperaware of every little thing, making sure that every time he saw you he was presentable. Luffy started grooming himself — showering more than once week, spending more time in front of the mirror to tweak his wild hair so it sat just right. with the bouts of self-confidence came insecurity as well, overanalyzing his posture and facial features. the scars on his face and chest suddenly the only thing he could think about — wondering if you thought them to be impressive or gross, seeing them as a mark of failure and weakness rather than a symbol of survival and determination. he traced the rough edges of the scar on his chest with his calloused fingertips, analyzing the fusion of pinks and reds that color his chest. this particular day he decided to cover it up, buttoning his shirt just above his scar to conceal it from the rest of the crew, embarrassment and shame pang in his chest.
conflicting feelings wrestling in his mind and chest began to take physical tolls on Luffy — deep purple bags weighing his eyes down from the lack of sleep. he decided that he finally had enough of this senseless torture, deciding that today was the day he would tell you exactly how he felt. Luffy’s impatience led him to believe that jumping to confessions would finally allow him to marvel in all the good things love had to offer. he couldn’t wait for you to be in his arms, to carry you around on his back, to kiss you anywhere and anytime that he wanted. he couldn't wait for you to be his.
Luffy figured he would pay the only person he thought would be the most well-versed in this thing called “love” — his ship’s cook, Sanji. despite having a questionable past when it comes to romance, Sanji could actually be captivating, making suave advances at all kinds of women over their years of travel and succeeding. Luffy wandered into the kitchen, finding Sanji sharpening his knives in preparation for dinner.
“hey Sanji. can i ask you somethin’? Luffy asked, resting his elbows on the pristine table cloth as he took a seat. Sanji put his knives away and returned his attention to the young man, cautiously approaching him as he wore a solemn expression.
“sure, what’s up?”
“how can i tell [y/n] i like her? i mean, i don’t wanna scare her away but at the same time, i just can’t stop thinking about her! she’s so pretty I’m worried she wouldn’t wanna be with someone like me...” Luffy trailed off, getting lost in his sorrows once again.
Luffy’s uncertainty threw Sanji for a loop, scrunching his curly eyebrows in confusion, “since when do you care about what people think? just be yourself, Luffy, you have nothing to worry about. i’m sure if [y/n] didn’t like you she wouldn’t have joined the crew”
“well yeah but what if she doesn’t like like me? what if me telling her i like her scares her away and she’ll never be a part of the crew again?” Luffy threw his face into his hands, pulling at the stretchy skin around his cheeks in exasperation.
“if that’s the case, then treat her to a huge bouquet of flowers! women love that flashy shit,” Sanji claimed, taking a long drag from his cigarette. “i’ll even help you bake her a cake or something. sound good?”
“hell no, you’ve got it all wrong!” Nami exclaims, wandering her way into the kitchen for an apple to snack on. “women don’t just want ‘flashy shit’ Luffy, especially not [y/n].”
“wow Nami, that top looks darling on you!!” Sanji exclaims, scurrying over to her to get a closer look. brushing off the compliment with a simple “thank you,” Nami continues her string of advice.
“look, since i’m the closest to her i think that you should just be yourself. all [y/n] truly wants is honesty, and if you tell her exactly how you feel, she’ll be understanding no matter what.”
and it was true. Nami had easily become your best friend the moment you stepped foot on the thousand sunny — the both of you confiding in each other free of judgement. it was Nami and Usopp who had listened to you pour your heart out about how you truly felt about your captain. there were nights where you cried into her lap about how lonely you felt because you thought he would never reciprocate these feelings, believing that he couldn’t afford to make the room in his heart to love you more than just platonically. you believed that you’d be stuck in the friendzone forever, your bottled feelings gnawing at the walls of your heart bit by bit until it was entirely consumed by loneliness. Nami kept these moments in mind, internally screaming as she couldn’t wait to watch this relationship unfold. you idiots have no idea.
“once you’ve gathered your thoughts, then you can tell her how you feel. but until then, i’d lay low for a while — that way you don’t jump her the next time you see her. but don’t completely ignore her!”
Luffy hadn’t expected to take Nami’s advice, but it made sense as she was the closest to you. he brought her into a tight embrace, squeezing the petite woman’s frame as he chuckled a giddy laugh into her ear, “thanks Nami! who knew you were so good at this stuff?”
“yeah well, this therapy is gonna cost you about fifteen hundred berr—“
“SEE YA!!” Luffy shouted over his shoulder, cutting Nami off before she could set her price in stone.
…
you hadn’t seen or heard from Luffy in a few days, which wouldn’t worry you under normal circumstances if he wasn’t acting so…strange. your captain has always been cooky and silly, but this behavior was different. the times you had seen Luffy, you flashed him a soft smile, a peaceful, friendly greeting. however, his eyes would just go wide and avert your gaze, something akin to fear flashing in his dark eyes. when you tried to confront him about it, he would brush you off and say it was just leftover stress — but the way his lips pursed and how he avoided direct eye contact let you know that he was lying. after that conversation, you resulted to avoiding him as well, embarrassed to seek him out when it was very clear that he did not want to see you.
the loneliness and shame was eating away at you, every day a piece of you withered away as you mulled over what you could’ve possibly done to receive such treatment. all roads led back to that moment on the deck, where you got too comfortable, too carried away and let yourself do something you knew you shouldn’t have. it was too much, why would you ever think that was a good idea?
you made your way to Nami’s room, trails of dark grey running down your cheeks from the mascara you had cried off. upon opening the door, you caught a glimpse of Nami and Usopp laughing about something before they directed their attention to you. Nami’s warm smile quickly faded, patting the cushy space next to her as she invited you over. the moment you shut the door behind you, the tears returned tenfold. all the pent up frustration and anger came pouring out of you, strong streams of salty tears surging from your eyes.
“i think Luffy hates me,” you said, voice strained from choking back a sob. you filled them in on all the gruesome details, spilling the guilt and honest frustrations you felt and how you blamed yourself for his behavior. Nami immediately regretted the advice she gave to Luffy when she saw the state you were in, never imagining that you would’ve been this devastated. her and Usopp exchanged quick glances, warning each other not to reveal too much so they wouldn’t spoil Luffy’s confession plan.
“oh [y/n], i promise he doesn’t hate you. boys are just dumb sometimes, especially the ones on our crew,” Nami joked, chuckling lightly to ease the tension that lingered in the air. you huffed a breathy laugh as you wiped your nose, tucking your hair behind your ears to avoid getting the trails of snot into it.
“i think he’s just going through some personal stuff right now,” Usopp reassured, twisting the tiny frills of your shirt between his fingers as he lay sprawled out on Nami’s mattress. “trust me, i know what it’s like to have Luffy hate you for a while, and this just isn’t it. just give him some time and he’ll come back around.”
their kind words put you at ease, the stream of tears drying out slowly as you collected yourself again. “thank you guys, i needed that.”
the pair gave you soft smiles, continuing to keep the mood alive by cheering you up with filling you in on the predicament Usopp got himself into earlier that day.
…
the sunset marked one week since this whole predicament began, Luffy finally ready to confide in you about how he truly felt. he had prepared a whole speech — each line carefully crafted with Nami’s help to describe exactly how he felt, not wanting to miss a beat. he couldn’t afford to forget anything, as one tiny mistake could result in catastrophe. Luffy had never prepared this much for anything, not even when fighting warlords and emperors. you had superseded all of them, your attention and feelings more important than his own.
Luffy recited his speech over and over again in his head, making his way to your favorite spot on the sunny in hopes of finding you. the second he laid his eyes on you, however, his mouth went dry and the words suddenly scrambled together in his head. his attention was fixated on the way your face glowed against the orange horizon, the breeze blowing your hair behind you and putting every feature on display. you leaned over the railing, resting your elbows on the wooden edge as you drank in the smell of the seawater. your glowing eyes turned to meet Luffy’s, your face stoic and glum as you turned back to face the setting sun.
“fancy seeing you here,” you stated sarcastically, your words lacking any form of amusement as your frustration returned.
“can i talk to you about something?” Luffy said, his voice suddenly small and nervous. the tension in his voice had been unexpected, causing you to turn around and meet him face-to-face. you crossed your arms over your chest, nodding your head in his direction as a sign of permission for him to continue. Luffy took a deep breath, collecting his thoughts properly to restrain the word vomit that built up in his throat. although, his nerves made him feel like he was about to actually vomit.
“first, i want to apologize for the way i’ve been acting these past few days. it was never my intention to make you upset or mad at me or anything. i did it because…” Luffy paused, fidgeting with the hem of his shorts. god, this is so weird.
“because…?” you asked, the anticipation eating away at you. your heart thumped violently in your chest, throat beginning to sting as your nerves returned.
“because i like you, okay? like more than i should — and if i’m being completely honest, i didn’t even know i could like someone like that. but when I’m with you, i feel like i have a purpose. and of course I feel that way with everyone else, but you’re different!”
Luffy took a small step forward, gently grabbing your hands and holding them in his. “the moment i realized that i actually liked you, something inside me clicked. it felt like everything suddenly made sense and a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders. i felt like i could breathe again and i was free. hell, i’ve been having dreams about you ever since — but nothing weird though i promise!”
the way he threw his arms up in defense at that last sentence made you laugh, all of the dizzying stress releasing through your nose. you hadn’t realized it, but tears began to flow from your eyes. but these were tears of joy, tears of relief that everything you had beat yourself up over for the past week was all in your head. all you could do was stare at the man before you with a beaming smile and teary eyes, your brain short-circuiting as you took in every syllable that left his mouth.
“i’m so sorry, [y/n]. i never meant to make you feel like i was avoiding you on purpose, i was just finding the right things to say. i really don’t wanna screw this up, so — if you’ll have me — i want to be there for you. i want to be the person you wake up next to every morning, the person you can come to and share everything with. i want to be yours and i want you to be mine.”
Luffy’s thumb grazed your cheek, wiping away the tears that ran down your face. you leaned into his touch, gently pressing your lips into the palm of his hand. the intimate gesture caused Luffy’s cheeks to burn a bright red, a hopeful smile forming across his lips.
“took you long enough,” you teased, redirecting his hands to your waist as you draped yours around his neck. “i’ve loved you for a long time, ya know? i was just waiting to see if you’d ever come around, dumbass.”
Luffy could no longer contain his excitement, hoisting you up by your waist and spinning you around in the air. your playful squeals were quickly silenced as he brought your lips to yours, drinking you in with every touch and taste.
many people made the assumption that Luffy was born under a lucky star, attributing his success to destiny and fate rather than the determination and strength he put forth. that claim had always pissed him off as it made him feel like he was cheating the system entirely. however, it wasn’t until he held you in this moment that he finally understood what they had meant.
i could get used to this.
teehee i’ve been wanting to write for luffy for sooooo long but never knew what to write about. then this idea came to me like an epiphany and im so glad it did!
Can I please request reader gifting sanji a new tie. It's one of those gimic types (shaped like a fish or with a naked lady underneath type) and he appreciates the gift so he has to wear it but reader keeps gifting him increasingly ugly ties until sanji eventually breaks and has to tell him that while he loves the gifts he can't take one more ugly tie.
(Sorry for all the sanji! I definitely have a favourite, hope you don't get bored of writing for him <3)
Anon, do not apologise. I too, like you, have an obsession with this man. I could write about him for DAYYYYYYS.
I really liked this prompt^^ as a lot of fun to write.
Enjoy!
Tie-ranny
Sanji x reader
The first tie was a joke. You swore it was a joke.
It was a silk monstrosity in the shape of a koi fish—glossy, orange, and just the slightest bit too anatomically accurate. You found it in a tiny market stall on an island known for its quirky fashion, and you immediately thought of Sanji.
Because of course you did.
The man wore suits like second skin, cooked like a god, and smoked like a noir protagonist. He had style. He had grace. He needed a stupid tie shaped like a fish.
So, naturally, you bought it.
You approached him in the galley after dinner service, when most of the crew was lounging about the deck, nursing full stomachs and half-lidded eyes. Sanji was wiping down the counters, still wearing his signature black shirt and that sleek, boring tie.
Time to change that.
“Sanji,” you chirped, hands behind your back. “I got you something.”
He glanced up, smiling instantly. “For me? Mon amour, you shouldn’t have.”
You snorted. “Trust me, I probably shouldn’t have. But here.”
You revealed the tie like it was a weapon. The way his smile twitched said he wasn’t sure if it wasn’t.
He took it gently, inspecting the silky koi fish with a kind of cautious reverence. “...It’s a tie,” he said, after a beat.
“Not just a tie. A statement.”
Sanji paused, then let out a light chuckle. “It’s definitely saying something.”
You wiggled your eyebrows. “You hate it.”
“I love it,” he said quickly. Too quickly. “No one’s ever given me a tie before. I’ll wear it tomorrow.”
You blinked. “Wait, really?”
“Of course.” He smiled at you—warm, charming, and with just a hint of terror behind the eyes. “Merci, my dear.”
You were kind of joking. But now you were also kind of obsessed.
The next morning, Sanji wore the tie.
He actually wore it.
Full suit. Polished shoes. Orange koi fish flopping limply down his chest.
Zoro nearly fell overboard laughing. Usopp asked if it was cursed. Luffy tried to eat it. But Sanji—oh, bless his elegant little soul—kept his head high, his tie straight, and served breakfast with the air of a Michelin-star chef who had absolutely not lost a bet.
You were delighted.
He was doomed.
You gave him a second tie a week later.
This one was a standard black, but when pulled, it flipped up to reveal a tiny cartoon woman in a bikini winking suggestively. Sanji paled when he discovered this—after wearing it to serve tea to Robin and Nami.
He wore it for three days out of sheer politeness.
The third tie played “La Cucaracha” when touched. The fourth one glowed in the dark. The fifth? A neon green knitted monstrosity with googly eyes stitched on like some kind of haunted seaweed.
You were testing him now. You had to be.
And Sanji—poor, noble, increasingly sweaty Sanji—endured them all.
But something in his eye had started to twitch.
-
Sanji didn’t cry.
But he did sigh like a man who had seen war.
“This one sparkles,” he said faintly, holding up tie number six between two fingers like it might bite. “It’s—bedazzled.”
“Exactly,” you grinned. “It matches your sparkling personality, Sanji-kun~”
He blinked slowly. “I don’t sparkle.”
“You do in my heart.”
He paused. “...That’s very sweet,” he said, voice hollow. “Excuse me while I go make dinner and question everything I’ve ever known about fashion.”
The next time you docked on an island, you dragged Zoro along on your usual supply run. Not because you liked him (you didn’t—he was a menace), but because he owed you a favor and you wanted a pack mule.
You didn’t expect him to actually get into it.
“Oho,” Zoro said, plucking a tie from a dusty clearance bin like it was Excalibur. “This one’s got a cat riding a shark. That’s a power move.”
You gasped. “Oh my god. And look, this one’s got… is that a chili pepper? With sunglasses??”
“Hell yeah it is.”
Suddenly, you and Zoro were in the middle of the store, doubled over with laughter, holding up increasingly cursed neckwear like you were art collectors discovering lost masterpieces.
“What about this one?” Zoro asked, barely holding it together. “It’s a chicken. But with abs.”
“Sanji would hate that.”
“Then we’re buying it.”
It became a game. A secret mission. Operation: Drive Sanji Mad With Fashion.
The tie haul that day was devastating:
One with a holographic dancing skeleton.
One that said “HOT STUFF” in flaming Comic Sans.
One with googly eyes that rattled when he moved.
A skinny tie that looked like a strip of bacon.
You didn’t even try to hide your glee.
And the worst part? Sanji still wore them.
Maybe not with pride. Maybe not even with dignity. But with a kind of resigned, tragic elegance—as if he’d accepted this was his life now, a living shrine to the gods of bad taste.
“Y/N…” he said one afternoon, when you handed him a tie shaped like a squid.
“Uh-huh?”
He looked at you. You looked back, all innocence and sunshine.
He opened his mouth.
Closed it.
Sighed.
“…Merci,” he whispered, like it hurt.
Back on the Sunny, Zoro leaned on the railing, watching Sanji stir soup with his squid tie flapping obscenely against his chest.
“You think he’s gonna snap soon?” Zoro asked, sipping his drink.
You leaned beside him, smug. “I’m giving him three more ties. Maybe two if I find the one with the whoopee cushion.”
Zoro grinned. “Let me know when you go shopping again.”
The alliance had been forged. The chaos was escalating.
And Sanji?
Well, he was hanging on by a thread.
A very ugly thread.
--
The final tie was the ugliest thing you had ever seen. Which is exactly why you bought it.
It was fuzzy. It was fluorescent. It had two giant googly eyes, a felt tongue that dangled like an accusation, and a built-in squeaker that wheezed every time it moved.
Zoro saw it first.
He stared at it for a long moment, then simply muttered, “Oh, he’s gonna die.”
You nodded solemnly. “Or finally confess his sins.”
You presented it to Sanji after dinner, the rest of the crew scattered and full and blissfully unaware of the oncoming storm. You held the box like it was a precious heirloom.
“Sanji,” you beamed. “From me to you.”
He froze. You saw his soul briefly leave his body before he schooled his face into that familiar, worn-out smile.
“For me?” he said, voice soft like a dying man’s last words.
You nodded with dangerous excitement. “It squeaks.”
There was a long silence as he lifted the lid. His face didn’t change. Not at first. But you saw the exact moment his spirit cracked.
His eye twitched. His cigarette drooped. And then—very gently—he closed the lid.
“Y/N,” he said.
You blinked. “Yeah?”
“I love you.”
You froze. “Wait, what?”
“I love you,” he repeated, fast now, like he was running downhill with no brakes. “I love your smile and your laugh and the way you talk to my soup like it’s alive. I love your voice in the morning and how you hum when you’re bored and yes, even how you and the mosshead formed some unholy alliance to torture me with these godforsaken ties.”
You were completely stunned.
Sanji took a breath. “But if you give me one more tie that squeaks, glows, sings, or looks like it crawled out of a clown’s nightmare—I will burst into flames. And not in the charming, smoldering way. In the literal spontaneous combustion way.”
You opened your mouth. Then closed it. Then blinked. “...So you’re saying you do like them?”
Sanji stared at you.
You grinned. “You do!”
He groaned and buried his face in his hands. “Mon Dieu, please spare me.”
But you stepped closer and leaned in, voice soft now. “You could’ve told me from the start, you know.”
“I didn’t want to hurt your feelings.”
“You’ve worn a tie that said ‘Grill Me Daddy.’ I think we're past shame.”
That got a reluctant laugh from him.
You reached into your bag and pulled out one last item—not a tie this time, but a sleek, dark blue one with a subtle embroidered pattern. Tasteful. Elegant. Something that actually matched his wardrobe.
He blinked. “Wait… this one’s not hideous.”
You shrugged. “Well, I did get you like eleven gag ties already. Thought you earned one nice one.”
Sanji looked at you like you’d just handed him the moon. “...Thank you,” he said quietly.
You smiled. “You’re welcome, Mr. Grill Me Daddy.”
He groaned again—but this time, when he tugged you in for a hug, he didn’t let go.
Anon: Yandere Hc’s for the Strawhat Pirates (Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, Franky, Brook)?
Little information that Chopper and Brook are to be read as only platonic as I will not write anything romantic for them. Chopper for hopefully OBVIOUS reasons and Brook because… well, personally I do not see myself attracted to a skeleton.
Tw: Yandere themes, possessive behavior, obsession, delusional behavior, clinginess, manipulation, guilt-tripping, paranoia, overprotective behavior, stalking, threats, violence, abduction
Yandere Hc’s
Monkey D. Luffy
🍖If there is one thing that Luffy has proven to be, it is that he is arguably one of the most stubborn people to exist out there. If he wants someone to join his crew, he isn’t just going to take a simple “no” as a sufficient answer and he will be persistent until either his crewmates have stopped him from recruiting every moving being on earth or until he has convinced the person he has wanted to join. That which I just described is the textbook experience that you have with Luffy. His fascination manifests before his obsession does but even then he is already someone you are unable to shake off and even asking some of his friends, people like Zoro and Usopp for example, will just shrug you off and tell you that it is at this rate easier to join the crew than to demotivate Luffy from trying to recruit you. One of two scenarios can now happen. Luffy wins you over with that adventurous and hopeful charisma that he carries around without being even fully aware of it or you continue denying him, meaning that his obsession develops despite you not being part of the Straw Hats at that point and which I will elaborate further on in the abduction part. A little headstart though, Luffy is delusional.
🍖Luffy is very inclined towards physical affection, it just comes naturally to him. That is one thing that immediately gives his feelings away even before he realises them himself. There’s a lot of excessive touching. A breathtaking hug every morning when he sees you, your presence brightening his day up more than the rays of sunshine. The way he clasps your hand in his whenever there is something that he is just itching to show you. And then there are those curious touches, much more tender in comparison to the normal eagerness always displayed such as when his fingers brush over your lips, his eyes much more dazed as he stares at them before he snaps out of whatever just possessed him. Him being delusional is actually interesting as Luffy is emotionally not really dumb. In fact he is actually able to sense most of your emotions at one point but it doesn’t always occur to him that he might be the cause of negative emotions to you. After all Straw Hats are on this journey to fulfill their own dreams as well as supporting each other’s dreams. Finding out that you don’t wish to be part of that dream anymore would hopelessly break his heart.
🍖Jealousy entails a certain amount of insecurity which isn’t often something that Luffy experiences. Perhaps his delusional and carefree attitude enables him to keep that smile even if you are surrounded by other people as he is feeling very secure in a relationship. Far common is that he is a victim of his attention-seeking clinginess. For Luffy it is natural to share every experience with you as this is part of the joy that he is feeling. For you that may not be the case though as you might prefer to have some moments for yourself or to simply talk to others without thinking too much of him. None of that is necessarily bad… for like five minutes. There is a countdown that really starts ticking the moment Luffy notices that you are doing something without him and sometimes the crew places bets on how many minutes he can hold out on before he inevitably walks over. Actual jealousy usually happens once Luffy actually senses intentions from the other part in which case he is very swift to join the interaction and declare very openly that he is already your boyfriend. None of his behavior could be labeled as anything intense or threatening though.
🍖If there is one big difference between Pre-Timeskip Luffy and Post-Timeskip Luffy then it is the way that he deals with threats. In itself the captain lets you fight your own battles as a victory of yours is a joy he will experience for you and celebrate with you. However, Luffy has also experienced the trauma of losing Ace, who uttered during his last moments that he regrets not seeing Luffy achieve his dream. That is a scar Luffy will never truly recover from and he is prone to almost PTSD-like symptoms when the triggers happen. If he senses that you’re struggling he would already be fast to try to rush to you but it is when he witnesses you heavily wounded on the ground that he suddenly finds himself transported back to Marineford with all the shouts and the sound of cannons going off, the heavy feeling of Ace’s dead body in his arms. His Conqueror Haki just bursts out of him as he shouts your name to the point where he even knocks out some of his own crew members who can’t stay conscious before he launches himself over to you, a tunnel vision taking over that can only concentrate on you and whoever your opponent is if they’re still standing.
🍖Now, freedom is an integral part of Luffy’s very being. He doesn’t see the need to restrict you even though that partial naïveté fueled by his delusions can bite him back if you truly are unhappy with him. Once you have joined the crew of your own free will though, you aren’t going to be able to leave anymore. Especially once Luffy’s obsession kicks in and he becomes aware of his feelings for you. Instead he would rather chalk up any other excuses instead of facing reality that you do not wish to be part of this journey and his dreams anymore. If you never planned on joining to begin with, things might be a bit more difficult to justify but Luffy can do it nevertheless. After all you have been copped up on an island your entire life so you cannot know the joy and the world filled with wonders out there until you try. If you should have ever mentioned to him about your curiosity of the world out there or about a secret wish to sail out there and explore the world, your words are going to come back for you terribly as Luffy will interpret them as your real wishes that you just have to hide due to the stigmatization against pirates or because you think yourself as bound to your island.
🍖Sharing is caring, a philosophy that Luffy properly embraces with you around. Some of the Strawhats are actually surprised just how much he shares with you as there are things that Luffy usually doesn’t offer to others, even his own crew. Food is obviously part of it as he frequently offers you bites of his portions though he also graciously indulges in your own plates. His treasured Strawhat is another part that he often shares with you, specifically when you’re angry with him, when you’re stuck in your own sadness or when you’re recovering from an injury due to a fight. Smiling is a sign for him that you are feeling happy so he is acting silly the moment he realises that he hasn’t seen you smile quite in a while. Alternatively he just pinches your cheeks in order to have you smile. The moment the Thousand Sunny docks at a new island, Luffy is with both of his feet already on the ground ready to explore whilst his arms stretch out to reach you and drag you with him. His Devil Fruit, even before the truth appears of what it really is and the powers that it holds, already means that whatever distance you may try to create, Luffy is able to close quickly.
Roronoa Zoro
🟢This green-haired swordsman is not only terrible when it comes to directions, he just also happens to be incredibly dense in regards to figuring out his own feelings. Zoro’s focus so far in his life has always been found elsewhere. The first buds of his obsession emerge slow and steadily which is perhaps why it is so difficult even for many other of his crew to realise that Zoro has fallen in love with you. Whether it is how he unconsciously finds himself laying down on deck where you currently are, somehow feeling more at ease when he hears your voice which even helps him dozing off quicker only to wake up eventually when you move elsewhere, the silence alarming him of your absence without him even being aware of it. Then there is this subtle need to show of in front of you despite the fact that so far Zoro has often trained all by himself as he suddenly moves parts of his daily training up on deck where you can see him, his eyes every once in a while drifting over to you to find out if you’re watching him or not. He will never get over the fact that Sanji of all people helped him realising his love for you, the cook unable to deal with Zoro’s obliviousness anymore.
🟢In his own ways Zoro also happens to be somewhat clingy, though that term means something very differently if compared to people like Luffy or Sanji. It is more silent hovering than it is glueing himself actively to your side, the clinginess that entails that he is always a few steps away from you or at the very minimum prefers to have you within his vision. In general Zoro is the silent but intense presence, someone who doesn’t speak up unless he really has to. With his love comes a dedication, you found even call it a duty, that Zoro immediately vows to uphold and that is to protect you. With that view that Zoro upholds, a conflict can arise though simply because during dangerous situations or fights he tends to take the front seat and doesn’t allow you to hold your own during battles. Worst of all is that his bluntness leads him to openly admit that he doesn’t want you to fight on your own whenever you confront him about his behavior. A part of him thinks that you don’t have to risk your life when he can join in and protect you but his choice of words can hurt your feelings. That harsh bluntness of his tends to hurt your feelings a lot if he isn’t careful.
🟢Similar to Luffy, Zoro isn’t really breathing jealousy with every inhale that he takes. He is secure as he values loyalty and expects you to uphold those values too. There is a subtle possessive hint though, obvious in the subtle glares that he throws at your direction whenever there are other people surrounding you. If you are his that means that others have to keep their hands off. It is a simple principle in his mind which is why he is all the more pissed at every idiot that doesn’t follow such an easy concept. Zoro is nothing but harsh and scary as soon as another person thinks that they can get away with flirting even if it has been clarified to them before that you already have a boyfriend. A hand is resting threateningly on one handle of his sword, his eyes sizing up the poor idiot who at that point might already be trembling in their boots. On the other hand he gets competitive whenever you express amazement and admiration for someone else, especially when it comes to their strengths or when the person you are admiring is named Sanji. In that case he gets somewhat childish and in some cases he outright asks for a fight to prove that he’s stronger.
🟢Typical for someone who is on the more protective side most of the time, Zoro is already more alert with the people you surround yourself with. That doesn’t mean that he can’t have fun and indulge in some good booze, just that it isn’t easy to push him into a state where he actually drops his guard fully when he is with you unless both of you are on the Thousand Sunny. Generally speaking though, Zoro never takes things lightly when it comes to your safety. The mere utter of a threat with no actions yet involved can quickly lead to a situation where he has already shed two of his swords. God forbid if someone actually attempts to hurt you or even succeeds to injure you as such a thing will not be spared. No, in fact it ends with blood splattered all across the floor. The one thing that can be given to Zoro is that he is incredibly hard but ultimately always fair. He only takes lives that he deems as irredeemable as he has had his fair encounters with evil and malicious presences throughout his journey so he is actually able to tell desperation and blind anger apart from pure killing intent. Still, a punishment must still be served as a warning to never even attempt to harm you.
🟢An abduction is not something that Zoro could afford. How would he even do that if he is constantly on a ship with an entire crew? Even he isn’t dumb enough to believe that this would work despite what the stupid curled eyebrow may think of him. If you are a member of the Straw Hat Pirates then there is really no need to think too much either as you are going nowhere. Most conflicts on the ship usually involve the Love Cook and if things simple start to seriously get on Zoro’s nerves then there is the easy yet effective method to swing you over his shoulder and simply carry you to the training room where he will simply lock himself in with you and you won’t get out until he lets you. You have to be someone he has known for a long time so that pretty much means that you either have to be part of the Strawhats or that you happen to tag along for a longer part of their journey as I don’t see Zoro developing an obsession otherwise. If you don’t belong to another crew and go through thick and thin with the Strawhats it is likely that Luffy extends an invitation for you to join his crew which brings with it that stubborn behavior and inability to accept your rejection so easily.
🟢Bad news is that he often drags you along with him when the crew docks on to a new island and is off to explore it which means that both of you end up lost together. The good news is that at the very least Zoro somehow always manages to never lose you and even if the both of you do get separated, ironically he still finds his way back to you to then have the audacity to act like you are the one who got lost from him. Normally Zoro really prides himself for being quiet and level-headed but all of that is thrown out of the window the moment Sanji is in the picture who is notorious for flirting with women left and right. Because you are off limits for the cook as you are already taken so whenever you are called an affectionate nickname by the cook all members of the crew already know that a new brawl is incoming. Zoro never really gives his feelings much thoughts after the initial realisation that he wants you either. For him all that he is experiencing and feeling is the way it is supposed to be. After all you are the first person that he has ever loved that way so he has no way of comparing nor noticing that some of his feelings go too far.
Nami
🍊A burglar by nature and one in name on her bounty poster just as much, there is going to be a certain mindset that Nami brings with her. She is a lady who is used to stealing what she wants, to treasure all gold and berries. This is a thought process that transcends the previously simple boundaries of all that glitters and glows and milds itself to fit the obsession she has for you. There is a very good pinch of possessive attributes that Nami brings with her, one that now includes you as you are counted as one of her priced possessions. She very much is a no-nonsense person and she makes that abundantly clear to even her own crewmates that you are her lover. She stakes claim as she is the one who is in love with you, is the one who made the first move on you and is also the one who has pretty much bargained you into a relationship with her. When it comes to such matters, Nami is nothing short of persistent and it is not uncommon for her to often bargain with you when there are things the both of you don't agree on. It's not all fun and laughter though as Nami has preferences for things to go her way, perhaps because she is surrounded by so many idiots all the time.
🍊Precisely because she is surrounded by many crewmates who are often more muscles than brain that she is on a daily basis forced into being one of the few responsible ones who actually think situations through. That is why she is on an aware spectrum in regards to her own obsession. She doesn't show it when she is around others or even when she is with you but it does take up a lot of space in her mind the moment she is alone. Part of her is disturbed of the way that she feels and thinks of you, marked by her own past and the many things that she has witnessed on her journey. She herself used to be caged, trapped in the greed of a cruel man and it is something she has learnt to not be an experience solely she has made. There are lots of cruel and terrible people and creatures out there who cause suffering to satisfy her own greed and even if she can be very blunt and tough, she is not like those people. A balance is important for her as her love for you is at the end of the day genuine. Whilst she is normally used to be on the receiving end of someone's affection, her attempts to show to you that you still mean the world to her are sincere. You are worth more than her treasured berries.
🍊In a relationship with Nami it is actually very likely that you are far more on the receiving end of jealousy than she herself is. Who wouldn't swoon over a woman as beautiful as her after all? Even if this wouldn't be a factor Nami would still be not prone to jealousy. She knows that she's attractive after all, her confidence has grown since she has joined the Strawhats. If she is one thing then it would be possessive yet that is different than being jealous. Something that belongs to her should be a sign of others straying away, that is the way that she likes to see it. A little bit hypocritical for she is a thief and doesn't respect such boundaries but you are a person and not an object to be stolen away after all. If there is going to be anyone who hits on you then Nami is very quick to put her foot down and that with a force that even terrifies her own crew. The orange-haired girl is infamously feared even amongst the toughest people on her crew and that for reasons. That wrath is something she doesn't spare anyone from, especially those who dare to flirt with you. Usually she is still simmering with anger even after she successfully scares someone off, leading to subtly possessive touches.
🍊There are more than enough people already who blindly storm into fights, even enjoy them. Something that Nami still doesn't understand fully to this day but she has always participated in major battles as she too is part of the Stra Hat Pirates. She relies on her brains more than she does on her muscles and she isn't quite as reckless as someone like Luffy though. In a situation of such fights though with another crew she prioritises safety and survival over a complete victory and if both of you are on a similar scale of strength than she usually insists for the both of you to stick together. Nami has been fighting alongside the crew many times and she knows that others would only be slowed down if the two of you would interfere too much in their battles, especially those who prefer handling battles alone. Her willingness to defend you against injustice and mindless cruelty burns brightly though and every careless comment normally ends in a swift hit and an apology from the individual who is already sporting a bump. One thing you have to give her and that is her unwillingness to let someone degrade you or talk you down, all the more if you aren't the type to stand up for yourself.
🍊Assuming that you are part of the crew and that willingly then there are very little worries she would have. Her obsession is one that takes time after all as love like this demands the ability to be vulnerable which isn't always easy for her. Sure, she has been learning to be more openly when it comes to the matters of her heart but she has spend half of her childhood trying to carry the weight of her entire village all alone on her shoulders. It is this weight of being all alone and carrying so much responsibility that she still occasionally expresses, especially once her feelings start acting up. If you wouldn't be an official part of the Straw Hats and her obsession would hit her, she finds herself in a much bigger conflict. Her possessive attributes wouldn't let her rest in peace ever and she would probably try to manipulate you into considering joining her crew, even trying to force people with little manners to behave a tad bit better as she doesn't want you to be weirded out. Ultimately I don't see her abducting you though even if it would greatly break her heart and end in her being permanently bitter to hide her pain. It is terrible after all, the pain of being trapped and she knows that.
🍊Are you the type who keeps count of the money you spend or the gifts you receive or gift to others? Because Nami most certainly keeps track of such things and this often comes back to bite you majorly when there is something both of you don't agree on. It is then that she always brings up those topics and it is an active attempt to persuade you into agreeing with her to stop any further arguments. Always remember that Nami is not the type who gives without expecting anything in return. No, it is very much a mindset that one hand washes to other with her and she often even calculates such things so that she always has an upper hand against you for such situations. It is one major thing where her controlling behavior shines through as she always wants to have the last word. Another thing to keep in mind is that Nami is blunt and doesn't sugarcoat anything so if she criticizes something about you then she means it, even if she realises after that she probably could have said it a tad bit nicer. Your entire wardrobe goes through a major rebirth under her as Nami redesigns it after her own sense of fashion and she makes it so that every outfit of yours from that day on matches her own.
Usopp
🌱Usopp is a nervous mess when he is around you and no matter how much he tries to play it off, everyone knows. He can talk of great tales of his heroic acts as much as he wants, it doesn't change the fact that around you his insecurities hit him full force. It borders on pathetic and pitiful as he probably practices in front of the mirror what he wants to say the next time you are around only to fumble completely when that moment happens. In his own nervous state it probably happens more than once that he blurts something out that has you tilt your head questionably, especially since it almost always involves something about you and that has you wondering how he knows that. Truth is that Usopp observes you a lot and takes note of small habits you subconsciously do and other quirks that you express without being fully aware of it most of the time. God, he knows that it sounds creepy but he can't do anything that he has a habit of peeping and his excellent eyesight really only enables him more. He refuses any claims that he is obsessive though even if it is the truth. He just doesn't want you to think of him as weird or creepy as that would be a personal nightmare.
🌱As fond as you are of Usopp even despite his somewhat uncanny ability to note and remember pretty much everything you said or did once he starts observing you, there are some glaring flaws. His habit to lie is somewhat infamous and though most of the times it is overall harmless, you have noticed that he starts lying the moment you confront him about pretty much anything. There are few things Usopp hates more than potentially disappointing you and in any attempt to dodge that, he starts lying his way out of it. It happens when he loses something that you entrusted him with or when he failed to do a task that you asked of him. Everything would just be solved if he would simply admit to it as you wouldn't treat it as a big deal yet he always gets so defensive for some reason and you don't even know why. The trickiest part is that he does it even if he doesn't want to do so and it is the fact that he does it so naturally that often disappoints you more than anything. It often leads you to ignore him for a couple of days, essentially threatening him with a heart attack until he comes almost crawling back and apologises, finally admitting his wrongdoings.
🌱Jealousy is going to be a problem that Usopp finds himself confronted with far more often than he would ever be comfortable to admit. Yes, he may have come far from where he started over two years ago in his small village. Yet it changes little in the overall scheme of things. There are so many pirates out there who excel in abilities he could only hope to achieve, there are such people even in his own crew. Really, it shouldn’t affect him as much as it does as many of those abilities simply come from Devil Fruits or from a body that is not human. Still, whenever you express such astonishment for Luffy’s abilities or for Jinbe’s skills as a Fishman, it is hard to ignore that churning hole within his body. Most troubling is that Usopp never wants to admit his feelings to you so he pretty much just waits there, feeling increasingly more uneasy the longer such interactions last. If his fidgety behavior is anything to go by, it is more difficult not to notice. If someone points it out to him though? He just laughs it off. Laughing it off only to later on talk in self-deprecating ways about himself when the both of you are alone. It really isn’t a good way to deal with it but he does it nevertheless.
🌱A great warrior of the sea. That’s his wish. A wish that he has made what feels like an eternity ago. No one could deny that he hasn’t grown since his adventure has started but simultaneously no one can also say that he hasn’t grown since grown completely fearless. He’d like to label it as him just being more sensible though, especially in comparison to monsters like Luffy or Zoro. If you get stuck with Usopp during a battle you better have a good amount of stamina as the both of you are going to run a lot. Cut him some slack as Usopp is a sniper and not someone made for brawling so if he is pushed into a situation where the fight turns into hand-to-hand skills he has to gain some distance to shoot. It’s a far too common experience to feel his sweaty hand grabbing yours as he starts dashing away with you in tow. Such memories never remain as fond in his mind. Actually he feels a great deal of shame for them later on even if things still turned out right in the end. Still, he cannot change that he is not anything like Jinbe, Zoro or Sanji. He is not build like them so he has to fight and survive in his own ways. You… You understand that though, don’t you?
🌱Usopp tends to be desperate and desperation can take very different forms. As a member of the pirate crew there would be little thoughts he would have to make in regard to an abduction. Still, even if both of you were to sit right next to each other that is no guarantee for Usopp to feel reassured. Insecurities can plague him after all even if the both of you were to be as physically close as possible. Especially if you have expressed disappointment in him or he at the very least believes that you think that way. That often leads to him spiraling down a dangerous rabbit hole that he struggles to climb out of. What he needs is reassurance but instead of asking he chooses a coward’s way at times. One strength of his are his many gadgets and in any way to soothe his nerves it happens that he invents something that forces the two of you to stick together. You’ll never forget how one time both of you had to spend nearly an entire day handcuffed together because he acted like he lost the keys. Ultimately Zoro had to slice the handcuffs apart, that is after Usopp nearly fainted when the samurai gave the both of you a terrifying grin in an attempt to assure both of you it would be fine.
🌱Let’s talk about his gadgets once more because even though Usopp sometimes uses them for bullshit reasons, he has gifted you just as many useful things. Especially if both of you have no outstanding skills in comparison to other members will he craft a lot of things for you to survive on a battle field. Absolutely terrified when you are actually mad at him as he’s initially too terrified to approach you. Instead Usopp has found another way to attempt his first apologies. He just uses his slingshot to fire little gifts and letters your way, making sure to not accidentally hit you unless he wishes to madden you even more. The little trinkets that he fires at you are pretty cute but you learn quickly that he needs to learn to face his fears. That usually means that you let him dangle until he approaches you in tears. The beginning of the relationship is one awkward mess as Usopp cannot get his nerves to calm down. His movements are awkward, his palms usually sweaty when he touches you and the first kiss is one huge mess that he doesn’t want to be reminded of. It gets better over time as he gets more comfortable but one fall back into his insecurities brings him right back to the start.
Vinsmoke Sanji
🍝As shallow as it may sound, gaining Sanji's affection often requires only one thing which is to be of the opposite gender. Without knowing his tragic past this sounds quite horrible but from first observation this seems to be the case. You are treated with the same fondness that Sanji treats Robin and Nami at the beginning when you join the crew, the same blatant favouritism and the same affectionate nicknames. However, you connect on a deeper level with Sanji than anyone expected and there is a slow shift that Sanji himself doesn't seem to be aware of initially, his behavior around you suddenly different than what other women usually receive from him. It all comes crashing down during one moment where the both of you are alone. It could be that you catch him in a vulnerable moment, it could be the situation but with reversed positions or it could even be a simple smile you give him that suddenly leads him to his epiphany. That is when everything falls into place and his obsession fully manifests in that second, his heart bursting with a love that he has never felt before and one he can't help but wonder he even deserves for a split second.
🍝The very next day he seems to be a different man for you and everybody notices this. Sanji has a high standard when it comes to how he wants to treat you and that already borders on unhealthy at times as he can really push himself if he doesn't fulfill his own expectations he has set for himself. Two things that instantly stand out are his obsessive behavior and his clinginess. Everything about you is committed to mind and when I say everything I mean everything. It is a thin line between being flattering and disturbing, especially when you figure out that Sanji somehow has accurately figured out your three sizes despite you having never told him this. His clinginess is equally overwhelming at times. For Sanji such closeness is a must as he is in a constant state of euphoria when you are around. It is utterly addictive to the point where he actually experiences something akin to withdrawal symptoms when he goes for a few hours without having seen or held you once. His focus slips through his fingers more often as his mind can only think about you and his mood gets quickly more trigger-happy until he quite literally feels sick with unease and longing.
🍝Jealousy comes as natural as breathing to Sanji and that is by no means any exaggeration. He is hyperaware when you are around and he is just as hyperaware of your surroundings as danger could come for you at every moment. One glance that lasted longer than two seconds can already be a justification enough for Sanji's jealousy to flare up. If beyond simple glances nothing else happens you are able to pull him back and redirect his focus back to you. Once someone does approach and starts a discussion you can only mentally pray as that is the point of no return. That is the moment where Sanji is quite literally fire and flame as he is prepared to kick every man's ass if they dare to flirt with you. It isn't even funny when he gets like this. No, the unfamiliar intensity that you witness in such moments is unlike anything that you have seen before as this is different than the jealousy that he used to express back in the days over Nami and Robin. One time you ask him why he acts that way. Initially he's silent as he takes a whiff of his cigarette before before he finally answers you, telling you that he doesn't trust men. When you ask him if he doesn't trust himself by that definition, he stays quiet.
🍝Men cannot be trusted. That does include him as well. Sanji doesn't trust himself with you. He feels like he is going to fail you one way or another. Has this not been what he has always been? A failure? The words of a father can ring loudly even years later and that is what haunts Sanji at night. He is not as simple as some way think he is when they initially look at him. There is lots of trauma and issues that have yet to be solved but he has made it his goal to never let you know that. That is a burden he doesn't wish to bother you with but such unresolved trauma and the insecurities that come along with it resurface full force in situations of great desperation. Sanji is fully prepared to throw his own safety away when it is your life that is endangered and during battles that overprotective paranoia fully shows itself. He tanks all the blows meant for you, he fights your enemies and all of that so recklessly that you are torn apart between ferocious rage and suffocating guilt. There are few things more jarring than seeing Sanji so heavily wounded whilst you have little to no scratches yet somehow he still has the audacity to fuss over your small cuts whilst he is about to bleed out.
🍝Once a member is always a member. That is one realisation that even Sanji has made after Wole Cake Island and he is eternally grateful for that. Obviously that spells in big bold letters that you won't be able to just be able to go your separate way either which is another very relieving realisation of it all. Yet despite both of you being on the same ship all the time, Sanji still follows you around all of the time. The constant doting behavior can get suffocating at times as even the slightest complaint of yours is immediately something Sanji feels the need to fix. In any attempt to get some privacy at times you sometimes just lock yourself away in your own room only to quickly realise just how seriously affected Sanji gets as a result. He won't outright barge into your room but his unease gets the best of him within the next hour where he is knocking on your door and asks if there is anything he can do for you. Sanji is already at a point where he is fully enveloped by the relationship so any minuscle hint that you may think of breaking it off will immediately have him on his knees in front of you in raw panic and fear. He'll do better! He swears it on his life!
🍝Everything about you is prioritised and Sanji all too willingly pushes his own physical and mental health behind. The constant fear to fail you and to not be enough is a looming threat that follows him around constantly. Every small mistake he may make is often enough to have him question his own self-worth. You underestimate just how extreme this is until you witness it yourself as even the simple sentence of yours that you would prefer your juice with more fruits can lead to such a self-destructive thought process. Nothing can destroy someone more than their hardcore perfectionistic expectations they have for themselves and Sanji is this kind of person. His own infatuation blinds him, makes him discard his own wellbeing as long as he can assure that you are safe and happy and it shows over time. The amount of money he spends for you and the constant effort and time that he puts in for you affect you too as you feel a deep guilt for not being able to do the same for him. What you don't seem to understand is that one simple kiss would be more than enough for Sanji as he holds your love in the highest regard. One he has to prove himself to be worthy of every day.
Tony Tony Chopper
🩺Chopper is essentially still a child if we're looking at it and that definitely shows from the way his obsession takes hold. Depending on your age he is either going to see you as a sibling or, if you're about Robin's age or even older, as a mother figure. Shunned by his own kind long before he even devoured his Devil Fruit and essentially only saved by the kindness of Hiriluk and Kureha on Drum Island before he was taken in by the crew. The Straw Hat Pirates are his new family but with you Chopper seems to develop a special bond. As he is the closest to you that implies that he is often following you around, very much like a child does with their older sibling or their parent. Whenever he is scared, upset or angry then you are the person that he always comes running to with teary eyes and wobbly lips as he tries to supress the urge to cry. Sometimes he clings to your legs and doesn't let go which ends with you walking around with him clinging to you. Whenever there is a reason to celebrate then he also comes running to you with stars in his eyes, almost vibrating with joy and excitement that everyone managed to survive and that the crew has managed to successfully defeat another foe.
🩺He is of a pure heart and his feelings follow that example which leads me to believe that he probably doesn't recognise that he is somewhat unhealthily attached to you. After all for him you are his comfort person and the person that he can always run to when there is anything that bothers him. It's that attachment that leads to some separation anxiety, especially when the both of you get separated on an island and he doesn't know where you are and how you are. If it ever happens that you suggest for both of you to be on separate teams it is not uncommon for Chopper to actually start crying. Not even out of manipulate purposes but simply because he doesn't want you two to be in different groups and for that away from each other. It's a heartbreaking sight so you always cave in and take him with you. Often you have to carry him though as he is still somewhat upset afterwards, essentially starts sulking a tiny bit. As the doctor of the crew there are some overprotective tendencies which lead to him putting band-aids on you the moment you lightly scrape your skin. After battles that means that you walk around covered in colourful band-aids.
🩺Whilst Chopper is neither very intense nor acting like a bratty child, he is a little attention-seeker at times. It's not in his nature to be jealous as he is a doctor and possesses a lot of compassion within his heart. There is no cure for jealousy though, especially if you treat someone the same way you treat him. Credits to him though, despite being delusional he knows when he should stay quiet. I imagine that during the Punk Hazard Arc with all the children he might have gotten somewhat jealous during the calm moments where you doted on the kids and played with them yet he never got mad at you nor them. It's usually after everything is over and safe that he starts expressing his jealousy. It's quite silly though because he is just too adorable even when he tries to look mad. Normally he just turns his back on you, sits down and crosses his arms over his chest. All of it within your vision though so that you clearly see him and then hopefully approach him. Chopper is quick to forgive though, especially when you bring him cotton candy or compliment him which then leads him to do his silly dance as he bashfully denies your kind words.
🩺If you want to talk about a doctor who is fully prepared to take lives then Chopper is not the person you are looking for in One Piece. He upholds the oath of saving lives and not taking them and his role within the crew is to support as good as he can as there are others who take the frontlines and fight. That doesn't apply that he sits back and does nothing if someone is threatened or attacked whilst he is watching but it means that he never goes for the death blow. If both of you get in danger and you happen to be someone who relies more on offense then Chopper is always prepared to take care of your injuries when the fight is over. It's not necessarily a good idea to have Chopper around you if you are a strong fighter as he despises to see you get hurt so if you fight a difficult battle and get injured a lot then Chopper starts bawling his eyes out, absolutely terrified for your life. The poor pal even falls asleep on your stomach when the fights are over and you are left to be treated by him, afraid that something might happen to you otherwise if he would leave you alone in your room. Occasionally he overdoes his treatment though which ends in you looking like a mummy.
🩺I'm starting to sound very repetitive but assuming that you are already a part of the Straw Hat Pirates then it is very unlikely that you're going to leave the crew anytime soon. The closest we could come to an abduction, and I'm using that term with Chopper very lightly, is when you are still recovering from a major battle and Chopper insists for you to stay in bed and to not move too much. The moment he sees you walking around, covered in bandages, he starts shouting in horror and rushes over to you, hopping up to grab your hand and drag you back into bed. It is possible though for Chopper to form a strong attachment to you even if you aren't part of the crew but are someone the Straw Hats spend a lot of time with on an island. That is when the situation would get a bit complicated though because then he wouldn't want to leave the island without you. That's when he starts being almost a little Luffy as he follows behind you and tries to convince you to join them, telling you about all the adventures they have had and people they have met. Oh, he's going to be on the floor in tears if you refuse and I have a feeling that his crew may get slightly protective of him and step in for him.
🩺Fun fact, the reason why Chopper starts collecting cute band-aids and coloured bandages is because the sight of you after a huge battle covered in nothing but white is far too jarring for him. So in any silly attempts to make everything appear a little less serious he starts using brighter colours to hopefully cheer you up a bit. Not everyone on the Straw Hat crew is too thrilled with those changes though, especially Zoro. The swordsman straight-up refuses to be treated only to be threatened by Robin, Nami and you to get over his ego and let himself be treated by Chopper. When Chopper is in his little form he often wants to be lifted up and he likes it especially when you put him on your shoulders and walk around with him like this. Considering that he has a major sweet tooth, you are forced to let Sanji cook some vegetables for him at times. God, the look of betrayal on his face never stops being amusing as you sit down with him and force him to eat his vegetables. There are traditions that develop over time and that Chopper highly values such as always getting a goodnight kiss on the head from you when everyone goes to sleep.
Nico Robin
🌸She is the most mature person within the entire crew and that definitely is reflected within her obsession. Very differently from how most other Straw Hats would approach their obsession, Robin actually sits back and observes. That’s it and that’s all she does for a very long time. Her blue eyes follow you around when you are on deck and even when the both of you converse you can never quite shake off the feeling that she is looking at you very much like she would look at the ancient writings left behind on faraway islands. But that is indeed what she is doing and not just a mere fragment of your imagination. Robin is actively trying to decipher you and she manages to do so quite efficiently. Mature she is indeed but she is still somewhat creepy with her dark humor and somewhat morbid imagination at times and that is something that people tend to forget about her. She is an archaeologist and she studies you very intently. Her Devil Fruit is a cheat code in all of this as she can essentially watch you and listen to you all of the time. Robin would lie if she were to ever claim that she in fact hasn’t sprouted some ears or an eye within your room a few times.
🌸Subtle manipulation is a way to go for her and quite honestly, it probably works. After all she has gone through a lot and is one of the most knowledgeable people within the entire crew so you wouldn’t be wrong in trusting her advices and words. There is never any harm intended in her words but if you belong to the reckless type of people on the crew she would be more inclined to figuratively try to slow you down a tad bit more and have you actually think before you act. A little bit of doubt is never wrong after all. Her arguably strongest trait is her being overprotective and one look into her part reveals very clearly why she feels that way. Robin has lost her entire island and has spent 20 years of her life running and hiding before she joined the Straw Hat Pirates. Every new island brings with it new dangers and she becomes increasingly aware of that and ever so subtly that ends in her tightening her hold around you. She can’t afford to lose more people than she has already lost and that is why she increases her manipulation in the first place, every word chosen carefully and spoken casually so you don’t suspect anything. There is no shame after all in participating at the sidelines at times.
🌸Her serenity is far more horrifying than one could imagine. Once again I want to remind you though that this woman casually jokes about gruesome deaths so there’s that. Now, in itself Robin regulates her feelings far more effectively than many of the other Straw Hats. She hasn’t gone through all the hardships in her life only to be emotionally unstable as that was something she couldn’t afford. She always had to remain tactical. Yet something that she was also taught during that grim period of her life was that she couldn’t trust anybody and always had to look over her shoulder. Sometimes that distrust shows itself when the both of you are around other people. She is polite but that shouldn’t be mistaken with niceness. This is a common error that people make though which leads to an unpleasant turn of events when they assume that they can flirt with you without any worries. Similar to Nami Robin doesn’t accept it when people ignore that both of you are in a relationship as she is swift to correct such disrespect without raising her voice or losing her smile even when she makes some disturbing jokes or pins someone down using her Devil Fruit.
🌸Honestly, I am convinced that she has had a kill count before meeting the Straw Hats. Forced up to grow in a ruthless environment forces one often to be ruthless in return. She hasn’t gone through met good people now but in her past she has met just as many horrible people and not everyone deserves forgiveness. She is fair but she also knows when to be hard so she is probably on a more willing side to murder people when it comes to you. And once again her Devil Fruit makes her an absolutely terrifying opponent because she can do some proper body horror with her abilities. There’s always that air of efficiency and calmness around her though even as she snaps someone’s neck. Throughout her life she has witnessed enough needless slaughter and cruelty and she does not indulge in such barbaric behavior. No, she finishes a job quick but thorough and that counts for the act of murder just as it does with the tasks that she does in her daily life. Most terrifying of it all is that she always acts so nonchalantly about it afterwards which is always a grim reminder for you that she has been desensitised to such acts as a result of the life that she has led before joining Luffy.
🌸The point of no return in case you are also part of the Straw Hats is when you receive your first bounty poster. That is going to be the point where you are somewhat stuck as your face is known to the public by that point and your bounty would definitely draw bounty hunters to go for you if you were to ever leave the crew. Still, if Robin catches you sometimes falling into doubts she is usually swift to remind you that you wouldn’t be able to live a proper normal life anymore, even sharing bits of her own past to remind you that you wouldn’t be able to trust anyone fully. Her falling for someone who isn’t a member of the Straw Hat Pirates is something that I personally see as somewhat more tricky as Robin is the type of person who requires a lot of personal bonding with someone for her to start feeling something more for them. 20 years of being betrayed and hunted down still have left their traces after all she whilst she has learnt to rely on others by now, falling in love demands a special kind of trust that she hasn’t given to anyone before. In fact this is an unfamiliar territory for her. Why do you think she always tries to analyse you all the time? Because she needs to understand.
🌸Once you are in her heart though, Robin won’t let go of you. I guess in that regard she is kind of possessive though age usually hides it well behind her composed expression and calm voice. She makes you feel stupid at times with all of the things that she knows, especially when you say something wrong and she immediately corrects you about it. If the both of you are teamed up on an island and explore together you are often treated like a child that is about to get lost if not for her. She constantly uses her Devil Fruit powers to guide you back before you get lost or even traps you if you’re about to be reckless and so your own thing, reminding you that you are supposed to stay with her and the rest of the group. There’s something quite obsessive about her fascination with every little quirk that you do. In fact she actually starts a small diary where she writes down everyday some interesting facts or things that she noticed whilst observing you. Her gaze is generally something that you often find on yourself when you turn around. As graceful as she is, she has a creepy side to her and you can’t help but think that some of the comments that she says to you are there to let you know that.
Franky
🔨There’s nothing quite as super as you in Franky’s eyes. Love blinds after all and nothing shines as bright as you do in his eyes. Romance aside, you cannot count on Franky being all too aware of his own obsession with you. No, it’s all glory and glamour in his eyes as he fails to ever realise the extent of his unhealthy feelings for you. Anyone within a radius of five miles will probably be able to hear him clamoring his confessions of love as Franky goes about courting you like he goes about most things in his life. Over the top and extra. The whole world should know about his super hot babe and you can bet that gorgeous ass of yours that he will let them all know. Doesn’t sound too harmless initially until you slowly notice that Franky just doesn’t know when to quit or how to stop. Blame that delusional brain of his for that as any rejection you give him goes into one ear and flies right out of the other. Such is the bliss of a man too blind to see the otherwise uncool truth that would only break his heart and dream. And so he continues with it all, fueled by the belief that one day you will understand. Quitting is only for losers after all.
🔨There’s a good slice of a more obsessive side behind all that shiny metal and quirky inventions that he has added to his own body during the two years worth of training. It’s his skills of building and creating such amazing inventions that do give him an advantage as he can come up with all sorts of machines and devices that can be of great assistance for his pursuit. One of the earliest things that you receive is a tracker which Franky presents as a gift for you. Whilst he doesn’t use it too often it does ease his mind to know that he can always know of your location if an emergency should happen. Similar to Usopp, Franky often finds himself building you stuff when he hears that there is a problem that you have and that he can solve. Instead of inventing something small and practical in typical Franky style he ends up overdoing it and builds so many extra stuff and functions in that it becomes something else entirely then what your initial issue was. You greatly scratch at his pride though when you tell him that you don’t need all the other functions which often ends in quite a bit of a discussion where you eventually have to give in as Franky beats you on the stubborn level.
🔨He’s pretty cool with a lot of people as Franky has little to no shame nor shyness. Walking around all of your life in nothing but underwear will do that to you I assume. Whether this is a good thing or a bad thing though, it has given Franky the ability to be very open and honest when he is feeling jealous. To a certain degree he doesn’t mind when others flirt with you. After all you are one smoking hot woman so obviously everyone would want a piece of you and it makes him proud to know that he’s your boyfriend whenever he hears the compliments. The moment someone gets too close though or starts suggesting stuff is the moment Franky steps in. All loud and super as always as he wraps one huge arm over your chest and pulls you closer to his side and declares proudly that he’s glad to hear that people agree with him that you, his girlfriend, are hotter than a desert. It’s the full package then as he calls you by all the nicknames, starts complementing you himself and starts smooching you all across the face. All that whilst continuing to be so energetic yet still confrontational until the person is visibly uncomfortable and doesn’t know how to act.
🔨Even if you have a Devil Fruit or use a special weapon or Haki, Franky still conjures up another device that you can use in a fight. Considering his style I’d like to imagine that he gives you something like miniature missiles which you can fire at opponents when things get tricky. Still, Franky lets you handle yourself outside and during any major conflicts and fights that the Straw Hat Pirates go through as he has trust in you. As long as you carry the object with the hidden tracker he also always can find out where you currently are if things start taking a turn for the worse. In case that the situation should get dangerous he might just come over and pick you up with his robot, offering as much protection as he possibly can. As enemies get progressively stronger I can imagine him building stronger devices to defend himself and to protect you which might lead to him blowing someone up as a result of overusing the new invention. Otherwise I don’t see Franky really being overly violent and bloody. Technically others would be scared of him as he is a huge cyborg so an average human should by all accounts be intimidated by him even if he isn’t even trying to be scary.
🔨Probably more likely to fall in love with you even if you aren’t a permanent part of the crew when he initially gets to know you. Franky wears his heart much more openly on his sleeves in comparison to some of the other Straw Hats and that enables him to form an obsession with someone who the crew might not have known for too long. Prepare yourself for his loud voice following you around from that day on all to talk you into joining the Straw Hats when the time gets closer for them to part for the next leg of their journey. Do not even expect him to ever stop being persistent as he is pushed by his delusional tendencies once more that if he just pushes through and stays determined, he will eventually reach his goal. Even then he would somehow end up using a tracker to always know if your current whereabouts, especially if you stay on the island he first met you at. Obviously being already part of the Straw Hats makes things a heck lot easier as then he always has you within arms reach and can simply find you when he wants to see you. With all of his different inventions that he builds specifically for you he also always has in mind to keep you happy on the Thousand Sunny.
🔨It’s obvious that you are favored amongst the crew with all the things that Franky keeps on adding to your private room whenever you complain about something. He sees it as a little challenge of some sort, to see how efficiently and how fast he can build something to solve the issue that you currently have. On paper Franky is not even that intense nor restricting as some others but I feel like it is very easy for you to get overwhelmed by him, especially if you’re on the loud and introverted side. Franky is the complete opposite after all, exuberant and all in your face. It’s possible that you find yourself often giving in to his requests and wishes simple because you don’t have the energy to argue back at him. Franky is partially at fault too for not considering that this might be a possibility as that is a problem most delusional Yandere have. It probably needs someone like Robin or Sanji to make the suggestion to him for him to actually take a reflecting step back and ask you. Whenever there is a special event, be that your birthday or your anniversary, Franky goes all out. Fireworks, cannons firing confetti and so much other stuff-one big spectacle essentially.
Brook
🎻Brook is a strange man. He is not that far away from pushing a 100 years yet he is very much in tune with the chaotic and ridiculous antics that the Straw Hats have going on. Having spent decades all alone though, Brook is quite determined to bring you as much joy and laughter as possible. In that aspect he is quite overprotective for as soon as he spots with his eyes that you are sad, he is already there with his music instrument to cheer you up…. Although he has no eyeballs. Those antics tend to be somewhat annoying at times, especially when you actually need time to digest work your feelings out instead of brushing them off in favor of entertainment. Initially you expect Brook to not understand your needs yet surprisingly he apologises and excuses himself. He gives you space yet he still looks after you from a distance. Such small moments help you to remember that he is in fact the oldest person on this crew even though he is not always acting like this. Well, perhaps he just doesn’t want to behave like an old man now that he can afford to be silly again. He has spent about 50 years being closer to being dead than alive after all… Technically he is.
🎻You are going to be younger than him as long as you are a human and the younger you are, the more protective he is going to be. Brook never really had any children or grandchildren but he wonders if this is what it would feel like if he would have had any. Yes, he is aware that he can come across as very unserious at times but there are still little bits of wisdom that he can give you, experiences from his own life that he tells you so that you may know better. Such fleeting moments where he dwells in memories are important if you can learn something out of it but he never gets stuck in the past for too long for he wants to live his new life to its fullest and doesn’t want you to feel the pain of old scars that are still in his heart… Although he doesn’t have a heart. Brook is usually not to restricting as the philosophy of living one’s life to its fullest includes your own. There are his moments though, especially when there is something that has spooked him or if it’s obvious that the current situation the crew is in starts to get risky. In such moments he usually makes sure that you stay within his vision, the unease in the air even if he tries to ease the tension with some bone jokes.
🎻As he takes on the role of a father/grandfather figure, he would most likely feel left out when he realises just how old he is and how much he has missed during his 50 years drifting aimlessly through the inescapable fog. New inventions that did not exist during his times, stars that rose to fame and criminals and pirates that have become greatly feared all whilst he searched for his deceased body. Brook hates feeling left out like this as he understands yet simultaneously doesn’t understand the words that you are saying. So in order to understand so that he may laugh with you and react with you, he is quick to step in as he tilts his body in an unnatural way and cuts into the conversation you’re currently having. May you let him in on what you’re currently telling? There’s always going to be at least one person screaming in horror when they see a walking and talking skeleton, often ending with Brook screaming back in horror as he nearly has a heart attack… Well, actually that isn’t possible since he doesn’t have one. Still, he gets scared too and later on he feels sad that people get so frightened when seeing him which leads to you having to cheer him up.
🎻He would probably be a bit of a helicopter parent if you would ever start developing a romantic interest in someone or vice versa. It is silly considering that you may already be an adult during the journey yet he can’t help it. He’s not outright hostile but he asks a lot of questions, especially if the person in question is around and with every one he leans a bit closer in an unnatural angle. Someone of the crew is going to be a victim of a dramatic speech during such hard times for him as he muses where the good times have gone of you being so small and innocent. He usually avoids people who bluntly tell him that it hasn’t even been that long since he met you. Precious memories were made, okay?! On a battlefield Brook keeps an eye out for you but he isn’t outright interfering with your fights. Everyone has been training for 2 years and got stronger, you included. That deserves respect. Respect that Brook intends to give you yet he is always ready to jump in if things get too difficult for you. It’s likely that if your life is in serious danger that the old man gets serious. He has been given a second chance and this time he is going to defend his family.
🎻Brook is quick to bond with people, his non-existent heart bigger than even those of the living. Forming a bond with him isn’t difficult but for him to form a father/grandfather-daughter/granddaughter relationship with him requires either more time or shared experiences of fighting a difficult battle together. He’d be quick to suggest to Luffy that you would make a good addition to the crew and would be even quicker to ask you if you would be interested in joining. You cannot expect him to let you go after you decline his offer. In fact Brook is actually going to be a stalker for a little while, following you around and trying to change your mind. He nearly caused your heart to stop when you walked home late at night one time only to turn around when you felt a bony hand on your shoulder to stare into the holes where his eyeballs used to be. He has learnt his lesson after that accident and always announces his presence from that day on when he approaches you behind at night. If you have been part of the crew before he even joined then such efforts and worries would obviously not be made unless he would have the sneaking suspicion that you want to leave.
🎻His age sometimes catches up to him whenever you excitedly tell him about something that was invented after his time and all he can do is nod as he lacks any content. In such moments he really feels it in his bones that a lot of time has passed indeed. Ha, you get it? In his bones? Moving on though, he would probably learn your favorite songs and play them on his violin or guitar for you. Whatever music genre you really prefer as he is a confirmed rockstar and for that knows how to play and sing. That’s probably one of his proudest achievements that he often likes to talk to you about after everyone reunites. If you confess to him that you didn’t witness any of it as you were busy training he would be quite literally on his knees for a few moments due to the shock and disappointment. Brook doesn’t demand for you to spend all your time with him but if he wants to spend time with you then he plans to go through with that, especially after big events like Whole Cake Island or Wano. If you have something else to do that isn’t of urgent business though, Brook isn’t above using the pity card on you to make you feel guilty and cause you to ultimately agree to go with him.
Do you think you could do somewhere like where the straw hats + doflamingo are really tired after a hard day and reader offers their lap for them to lay on? And they end up falling asleep? Sorry if it's to much to ask, or if you've done something similar 😅 😭
I originally wasn't going to do this, because I don't really write for OP anymore, but sure! Also, Doflamingo will not be included, as I am not up to that point in the anime yet!
OP Strawhats lying on your lap!
Summary: After a long day, you offer to let them rest in your lap!
Warnings: Innuendo on some, mostly fluff, short
Monkey D. Luffy:
"Ugh, I'm so tired!" The captain groaned, wandering below deck after hours of standing very still at the help of the ship. Nami had condemned him to boredom after finding out how much money he blew on food the past week while in port and he had finally finished serving his punishment.
"You look it," You mused with a small smile. You rolled your eyes as he approached you, dramatically swaying. "Oh, c'mere then, before you fall over."
Luffy cheered, collapsing to the floor, head snuggly tucked in your lap, sighing happily. "You're the best..." He purred, already on the verge of drifting off.
Roronoa Zoro:
Zoro had been crabby all day, he was just tired and it was entirely his own fault. That meant it was everyone else's problem. He was currently ranting at Sanji for something silly when you whistled at him and called him over. "I'm not a damn dog! You can't just-" You patted your thigh invitingly. His shoulders slumped and he came over and planted his cheek against your thigh, not caring for who saw.
"You better stop staying up all night working out." You scolded lightly, raking your fingers through his short hair.
"Yeah, yeah..."
Nami:
"They're all just so dumb!" She groaned, pacing the floors. "You have no idea how hard it is being a secretary to these men." You simply nodded and listened, knowing better than to interject during a rant. "Like seriously, you don't wanna know how much Luffy spent on food while we were ported. And I don't mean for all of us, just for himself!"
Eventually, her pacing turned to standing, then sitting beside you, and finally, she found herself lying between your legs, face snuggled into your inner thigh, anger ebbing in exchange for drowsiness.
"Feel better?" You asked softly, petting her tangerine hair gently.
"I guess..."
Usopp:
You entered his workshop, shoulders slumping at the sight. He was slumped over the workbench again, cheek squished to the wooden surface. You rolled your eyes and approached him, nudging him lightly. "Usopp," You whispered so as not to startle him, though ultimately, your caution was for not.
He jumped, scrambling up into a straight sitting position. "(Y-Y/N)! Y-You can't just scare me like that!" You simply snickered and pulled him up and toward the small bed in the corner. "No, I gotta finish this project-"
"I'll let you lay in my lap." You offered with a knowing smile.
"O-Okay!" He smiled sheepishly, following you, collapsing in your lap without hesitation. The moment he stopped shifting, he began to snore again.
Vinsmoke Sanji:
You had watched him bustle around the kitchen all day, refusing any help offered to him. In the back of your mind, you knew, when Sanji crashed, he'd crash hard. As predicted, after the dinner dishes were finished, he made a beeline for you, hugging you tightly. "I'm so tired..." He mumbled into your ear, voice deep and groggy. "What would be the best way to charm you without exhausting any effort?"
"Consider me charmed." You scoffed playfully, pulling him over to the couch in the lounge before patting your thigh. The way he stared at you, you would have thought you'd just asked him to claim you right then and there. His face was red, eyes glued to your thighs. "Behave yourself." You wanted as he dropped to the floor and nuzzled between your plush thighs.
"Yes ma'am!"
Tony Tony Chopper:
It was typical of Chopper to get sleepy earlier than the rest of the crew, frequently curling up with Robin while the adults settled down to enjoy an evening activity together. This night was different only in one way.
"Ha, royal flush!" You laughed, laying your cards on the table and claiming the cash in the middle of it. You nearly yelped when you felt soft fur brush your calf. Looking down, you found the reindeer climbing up on the bench beside you and curling up in your lap.
"Awe..." You cooed on a whisper, shushing the rowdy rest. "Look at him..."
"It seems I've been replaced," Robin mused with a gentle smile. "How tragic."
Nico Robin:
It was known that on especially hard days, she would welcome you into her lap, uttering soothing words or reading silently while threading her long nails through your hair. But tonight was different. You could tell she was upset, despite her cool nature. When you'd finally convinced her to open up, you found that she was having unpleasent dreams involving her past.
"Can't get anything past you, can I?" She laughed sadly, before her brows shot up in surprise as you patted your lap.
"I know I'm probably not as good at this as you are..." You muttered sheepishly. "But..."
To your delight, she laid down, face up in your lap, and allowed you to play with her hair while she read quietly to herself. "You couldn't be more wrong, this is perfect." She sighed blissfully.
Cyborg Franky:
Franky had been in an awfully sour mood lately, totally uncharacteristic of him. After witnessing him get into a small argument with Usopp over a new ship upgrade thew were collaborating on, you knew you had to have a word with him. "Franky, what's your deal lately?" You huffed, hands on your hips.
"No deal," He scoffed, turning away. "What's it to ya?"
"You're acting like Zoro when he misses a nap." Your eyes narrowed sternly. He sighed.
"I ain't been sleepin' well, okay?" He finally admitted sheepishly. You softened, smiling slightly.
"Why didn't you just say so?" You climbed up on a large crate of ale, sitting at the perfect height, patting your lap. "Come take a nap, you'll feel better."
"N-Nah, I'll be good," He shook his head, cheeks a bit pink. After a bit more convincing, he finally sat on the floor, back against the crate, and rested his head in your lap as you brushed the cyan locks from his eyes and removed his shades. "You were right, this is nice..."
Brook:
The ship was eerily quiet today and for the life of you, you couldn't figure out why. Suddenly, it hit you. You hadn't seen or heard Brook all day long. After asking around, you found him in the lounge, staring at the fish. "Brook, you okay?" You asked softly, tilting your head into his view.
"Oh, yes, my dear. Just in thought." He sighed, empty sockets seemingly tracking the tropical fish as they wandered the glass enclosure. "The only I get, the younger my old friends seem." He admitted quietly and your eyes softened.
You weren't entirely sure how long had passed as you sat there with him, watching the fish interact with one another, or when you'd begun to lean into one another. "Brook?" You asked softly, eyes never looking away from the tank. "I can't do much to help but...would you like to lay in my lap?"
"I'd like that very much, my dear." He replied, patiently waiting for you to get into a comfortable position before laying out his lanky form on the sofa between your thighs. "This helps so much more than you know." The pair of you stayed that way for a while until you began to feel skeletal phalanges lightly digging into the meat of your legs. "You know, since you're in such a giving mood..."
"You're done." You deadpanned, pushing him away.
Jinbe:
You had never had much experience with Jinbe, having only known him for a short while, be he seemed to always know when the emotional atmosphere around him had changed. Thanks to this empathy, he noticed immediately when you'd woken up on the wrong side of the bed. "(Y/N)? What's the matter?" He asked, cocking a brow as you stepped below deck.
"Just in a mood..." You grumbled, coldly brushing him off. Ever patient, he simply gave you a warm smile and let you be. As the day wore on, you both found yourself winding down in the lounge. You grumpy day catching up with you, you dozed off, cheek pressed to his shoulder. Smiling fondly, Jinbe repositioned you, delicately resting your head in his lap, large webbed hand very carefully brushing the fringe from your eyes.
