@touchofmxgic location: Greywood Forest
Ruby had lived a lot of places, but Greywood she was quite fond of. Perhaps it was simply because she didn't have to hide as much. The supernatural were known here, and there was comfort in that. Or perhaps it was because she'd been reunited with some of the people she treasured most throughout her long life. Either way, Ruby was at peace.
Greywood Forest was somewhere Ruby had yet to explore. She enjoyed the outdoors, of course, but setting up the boutique had been more of a priority. It needed a complete overhaul, and she'd ordered plenty of higher end clothing. She paused her walk to admire the stars and heard the sound of familiar footsteps, though Ruby hadn't heard them in years. "Hm," she said quietly to herself, shifting downwind to pick up the scent.
Vera?
A moment later, Vera did indeed appear. Her senses hadn't been wrong in two hundred years, Ruby supposed it was unlikely they would be now, although part of her wished they were. "Vera," Ruby said quietly. The last time Ruby had seen Vera, they were breaking up due to 'work.' Admittedly, she had no reason to believe Vera was lying about the reason, but work was of little interest to a wealthy immortal. "You live here?" After a brief pause, Ruby added, "I moved here recently. I didn't expect to see you again, frankly." Silently, she hoped Vera would ignore the hint of emotion in her voice.

"No? I think it's pretty fascinating and also thinking about the ways we can ethically use cuts of woods without, I don't know, chopping down a whole forest, you know? But these speak to a very old style of building, but look at me rambling on, sorry I guess I get nerdy about architecture of any kind," she admitted. "But yes, kind of, bringing some of it and also thinking of how we can do it without being so massive, you know? I don't know, it makes more sense when I'm sketching it out on paper."
"Because despite us being in a library, some people fare to read, especially the signs. They're like invisible to them. But that's a shame, I love poetry and animal shaped cupcakes. I wonder if they gave up on cupcakes overall or just the animal shaped,"she said, more thinking out loud than anything. "I think it's pretty exciting, actually. I'd love to be here all day," she admitted. "We could switch places for a day," she teased. "I'm sure you'd do a great job helping Bennie at the store."
"Timber farming." Revel repeats the words as they read over the words in the title." Can't say I know much about the subject, never really been familiar with the topic and well, woods have never been a particular interest of mine but I'm sure that it is exciting." Not really, but Rev like Athena and who were they really to talk ill of people's interests.
"Oh that's interesting, so you are hoping on-" Revel pauses, frowning slightly as they think it over." Bring some of the timber to cardinal? Am I getting it right?"
They look back at their cart, sighing." Unlike you, there are some that don't follow the rules of the library. You'd be surprised by just how many books are left without care on the tables, I don't know why people just don't leave it in the cart, makes my life easier." Revel glances back at her." Today's picks are poetry, a book on how to assemble animal shaped cupcakes and a few romances. As you can see my job is quite exciting."

Technically, Mateo wasn't open yet. It may even be another month before that happened, at this rate. But when one considered the sheer number of years that he had squirrelled away money with the one day of owning his very own shop, a month seemed almost far too soon. That was practically tomorrow, in Mateo's timeline, and so naturally, his nerves were tense with the need to make sure everything synched perfectly.
Which was why, this was now the third time he was taking down the wooden sign he had spent hours on already. This one had been hanging up for only seven hours before Mateo knew the name just wasn't going to work. The last one, his detail on the letterings had been too ornate and difficult to read (in his mind), and the original hadn't been eye-catching enough.
Why now? Why open the shop here where nobody knew who he was, or the quality of his work? Why when the man he loved had already picked someone else to move on with? It was highly irresponsible and stupid and crazy, he was throwing away literal decades of money on yet another whim that could have seen far more success back in Salem, where the locals had known he was accomplished in his crafts. And yet, Mateo had carted himself across country for a man he still couldn't have, and threw away his nest egg for this flash-in-a-pan chance of a shop he had never actually thought he'd go through with. He was not the type of man that did this sort of thing, yet here he was.
Mateo unhooked the wooden sign and clutched it to chest in one arm as he carefully went back down the ladder at a snail's pace, his eyes trained on the ground while a thousand different scenarios of how one could hurt themselves coming off a ladder flipped through his mind. But finally, his shoe touched blessed ground and he sagged in some relief, pushing glasses up his nose. That had been a close one. Mateo turned then, and nearly jumped a foot in the air, stumbling back into the ladder and barely managing to regain his footing before he and it toppled over.
"Goodness, you startled me," the man breathed, staring at the person before him. Mateo had to adjust his glasses once more, this time with a slightly shaking hand. "Can I.. can I help you?"
#elian & mateo#;; you tell me time has done changed me that's fine i've had a good run ✍️#a thousand years later

✿ Closed starter for Eli (@touchofmxgic) at Bird's Garden.
The late afternoon light filtered softly through the windows of Bird’s Garden, casting golden patches across the tiled floor and the curling leaves of potted vines. The air smelled faintly of rosemary and fresh earth, mingling with the distant hum of wind chimes from the back door.
Jinhwan was kneeling beside a cluster of lavender, gently snipping a few sprigs for a small order, when he heard the bell above the door chime. He turned to look at the other, smiling when he was who it was. He'd seen the other a few times around town, and with a lovely little crow! "Oh, hello." The Witch said softly, standing up and wiping the dirt off his hands. "Where's your little friend?" He asked, referring to the other's crow.

Closed starter: Elian ( @touchofmxgic ) Location: Aperture Photo Lab
How the hell had he managed to do this? Dimi kept wondering that as he stood in front of the door to his dark room, sighing in defeat. After turning the lab upside down trying to find the key to the dark room, which he had used earlier that day, Dimi had come to a very unhappy conclusion: he'd locked it inside. Since using the key, Dimi hadn't left the lab, so there was no way it could anywhere else but here somewhere, and the only place Dimi hadn't looked as the dark room. It had to be there. Already he was making plans to change the lock because right now it was the kind where you didn't need the key to lock the door from the inside, and that was what proved to be his downfall in this moment. But that was something to worry about in the future. Now he had to work on getting the door open.
The most immediate response was to call a locksmith, but that would just be so expensive. But then Dimi was struck by a sudden inspiration. Earlier that day when getting coffee at The Ceramic Cup, he remembered seeing the bulletin board there where people posted things like advertisements for events and services, help wanted signs, and the like. One of the fliers he'd seen had been for someone who did odd jobs, and Dimi had taken down the number just in case. If he'd been a witch, he would have thought it was some sort of precognition, but since he wasn't, Dimi chalked it up to being the one lucky thing that had happened to him today. So he called the number, quickly introducing himself and then launching into a brief version of what had happened. "So I guess I'm wondering if you could take the door off its hinges," Dimi finished. It seemed like an easier - or at least cheaper - solution.

"Hello" Zeke grins at the other as he makes his way into their home, without being invated, "I was making a potion and suddendly run out on a couple of ingredients, come to check out of maybe I could borrow them from you?" he explains as he makes his way into the other's ktichen, "But while I'm here how about a drink first? Catch up? Here’s a closed starter for Elian Rose | @touchofmxgic Morning at Onyx & _'s Residence
Onyx came across the odd job flyer at the notice board outside one of the local businesses. She kept the information near the phone for weeks now, before finally deciding to contact them. The room in question that she needed organised and painted, is a space that Parker invited her to use as a home studio. Unfortunately, she’s not at the point where she feels inspired to play for leisure like she used to. However, she figured that sprucing up the room would push her into using it as intended. For now, the room acts as a storage for her instruments, which are still in their protective cases from when she moved in 2 years ago.
Onyx had just gathered some old sheets when the doorbell rang. Glancing at the watch on her wrist she notes the time. Tucking the sheets under her right arm she heads to answer the front door. “Elian Rose, I presume?” She queries, then steps aside to permit them entry. “I’m Onyx, thanks for taking on the job.”

As he walked along, it would appear that the salvage operator was just another consumer here to see what was on offer or trade. There was plenty to see, plenty to buy- half of it crap he didn't even know the uses for and doubted he ever would. He wasn't interested in any of it, not really. Indeed, Jesse wasn't at the night market as an interested buyer or anything to finagle over. He wasn't there for the products, he was there for the people. Specifically, the strange people uniquely different from himself.
Of course he wasn't being obvious about it. Jesse made all the right moves to make it look like he was just as anyone else wandering around. It wasn't a good idea to bring attention to one's self around these type of people, there was no telling what they may say or do. He may be a little reckless and troublesome, but he wasn't outright stupid. There was some common sense buried in there. This wasn't his first rodeo, either. Jesse had been doing this for the past several months- casually weaving through the throng of market-goers to clock their faces and actions, only getting more and more frustrated as the nights wore on. Greywood was certainly a hotbed of supernaturals, sure, but so far none of them had been the right one.
"Oh, Vera," Jesse drew up short as he came upon the woman and focused on her. One of the many Pattersons running around. The two of them, however, encountered each other long before Greywood. She'd come across him some years ago in his hunt and, funnily enough, was the reason he was there now. She'd told him he might have some luck here- it seemed like every walk of life went through Greywood at some point or another. "Uh- hey, actually, now that I got you here," Jesse stuttered awkwardly, briefly, as he suddenly dug into his front pocket, "I found this today in an old stovetop... Thought you might, I dunno, be into it or something. I'm just gonna throw it away otherwise." After a few seconds of digging, he finally produced a silver bangle. He assumed it was someone's lost bracelet. "Don't ask me how it got there 'cause--" here he merely lifted his shoulders like 'beats me'.

Elian Rose, our Cillian Murphy, is looking for their former lover!
They’re a witch or human, and are said to look like Hugh Dancy, Ben Whishaw, Vera Farmiga, UTP. You do have to contact Poe @touchofmxgic before applying!
This muse would be 40+. Around their late 20's Elian met this muse, it was the first time they fell in love, it was something new and while everything in them told them not to confess their feelings they did and for 5 years they were together, they would consider some of the happiest. Something caused them to leave and break things off (this could be related to Elian's secret or even something else!). Elian still carries the pedant given by this muse and while they did have other relationships that only lasted briefly, they still think about them.
01? connection available.

Despite a long life, there were few people Ruby genuinely cared about. Perhaps that was expected as an immortal, you adjusted to the heaving loss, and it forced you to reanalyze your ability to connect. Truthfully, she hadn't put loads of thought into it, but Vera was on that limited list. Even now, Ruby didn't particularly like the idea of her ex coming to harm, either emotional or physical. Maybe that, too, was part of immortality. Once you cared, you truly cared forever. What a burden, Ruby thought, trying to disguise the conflict in her expression. "Your home town, of course," she murmured, confused as to why she did not remember that. Greywood was a mysterious place. "Are you happy to be... home?"
At the question, Ruby paused for a moment. "I heard rumours about Greywood, that there were many of my kind here. It seemed like a decent place to be for a few years, I suppose. Would you prefer that I leave?" The question was direct, but if it was Vera's true home, Ruby would entertain the thought. "It's nice to see you again," she added, although the pain was not so nice.
Vera.
How long had it been since she had heard that voice utter her name? It felt like forever now." Ruby?" The witch stopped in her tracks, her cat following along the trail leaving the two of them be.
" Do I live here? It's my home town." She adds in disbelief, hadn't she told the vampire? She was sure that she did but Greywood had this way of leaving peoples memories even when mentioned maybe that was why Ruby didn't remember." Well, I guess you will see more of me now since I also live here." Vera grows quiet, feeling a pain grow in her chest." I didn't expect to see you either since last time." The witch isn't sure what it is, maybe it's hurt that she had been holding unto all these years, all those times together coming back,
" What brought you to Greywood?" Vera finally asks, there was no point in just standing there awkwardly.

@touchofmxgic (elian)
Carefully and slowly, Mateo steered his vehicle down a moderately rocky dirt path obviously rarely used, with a map sprawled open across his steering wheel. He kept squinting ahead, then back down at the map, trying to make certain this was where he should be. A wrong turn already had made him half an hour late as it was.
At last, the trees on either side of the car thinned out until he was in a clearing. A rather (what he'd consider, anyway) storybook vision of a cottage was smack dab in the middle. There were flowers and vines grown all over it, and a rather charming rock wall with a wooden gate.
This must be it! Though, Mateo was surprised it wasn't more dark and mysterious — potentially haunted! — like its owner. But that was the beauty of Elian; they were so surprising.
He parked, crumpling the map aside for now. Already, he could picture what type of furniture might suit this place, and he hadn't even seen the inside yet. It definitely needed a picnic table in front. Mateo went through the little gate, delighted by all the different vegetation there was to see as he went up the little walkway. Once before the door, he paused to try and fix himself up a bit. Licking his fingers, he tried in vain to slick back the unruly salt-and-pepper locks and then smoothed down the front of his shirt, hoping he was presentable enough.
Finally; knock, knock, knock.

✿ Closed starter for Elian (@touchofmxgic) somewhere near Eli's cottage.
“Get on over here, you son of a-!” Linden’s voice echoed off the quiet streets as they tore down the dusty path at the edge of town, boots thudding hard against the packed dirt. Up ahead, a flash of scruffy fur darted through a thicket of weeds, tail wagging like this was all a delightful game. “I swear to God, if you don’t stop-!”
They didn’t realize someone was in their path until it was almost too late. With a half-yell and a sharp inhale, they skidded to a halt just inches from colliding with the unfortunate bystander, boots kicking up a cloud of dust around them. “Oh, shit. Sorry about that.” They paused just long enough to glance back over their shoulder, eyes scanning for movement. “You seen a little dog ‘round here?” they asked, gesturing wildly in the direction the mutt had gone.

"No, don't worry, I'll grab it when I get back," Vivek said this over shoulder, laughter in his tone, shoving his way through the front door of Windsor Sporting Goods with a big box in arm. Of course, not paying attention to where he was going went about as well as one would expect; he collided with someone.
"Oh, excuse me," Vivek was quick to apologize, turning to face them as he kept the box from dropping. "Are you okay?" But then the man did a double take, once he saw who it was. "Alice?"
Vivek stepped out from the door, allowing it to close behind him now as he smiled. "Hey, I didn't know you were back.." He cleared his throat. "Not that you need to check in with me or anything," the man tacked on, hugging the box with both arms now. "I just... wasn't expecting to see you." They never could quite get on the same page of things, and whenever they tried, something or other always came up. Things were complicated, in both their lives.

Nadia had found a comfortable friendship with Alice since her return to Cardinal Hill. The two enjoyed getting a ton of snacks and watching Tales from the Crypt, or on harder days, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Today, she felt in the mood for a mix-up, so Nadia decided to let Alice choose. "I completely get you, now that it's summer, I am at the pool all day. I was thinking we could get our usual snacks and then maybe head to Rewind Rental before my place?" They loved their job as a lifeguard, but it still took a toll on them. Some days nothing happened, she'd sit in her chair under the shade, the whistle dangling from her neck. Even if nothing happened, their eyes were constantly scanning the area for anyone in danger, causing her to only want to be still for several hours after work, laughing with a friend. "What do you think?"
starter for @bitethvhand location: Somewhere around Cardinal Hill
" So-" Alice starts clapping her hands together. enthusiastically." What do you want to do today? It's friday night and my evening is wide open! I'm expecting us to have a fun filled evening, you don't know how much I need this." She sighs a bit too dramatically just to make it obvious." I just need a night to forget about work and everything else."

Elian Rose, our Cillian Murphy, is looking for their frenemy!
They’re a witch, and are said to look like Mads Mikklesen, Idris Alba, Olivia Coleman, UTP. You do have to contact Poe @touchofmxgic before applying!
This muse would be 40+. Someone that Elian knew from childhood, probably around the time that they went to live with their grandparents. They would get to all sorts of troubles together, it was someone that Elian cared for deeply and still does. They lost contact when Eli left but would cross paths once in a while, something happened between them that soured their friendship and hasn't been the same since. It's complicated and messy, often ending in trying to see who is best. I would be open to plot more about their relationship!
