What if I assigned them a Pokemon team like the nerd I am. And explain them. Send help?
Tumblr media
Pure Vanilla:
In order from first to last caught: Ampharos, Umbreon, Altaria, Audino, Uxie, Reshiram.
Of course Flaaffy would have to be his first pokemon, while he was still a little field boy. They basically grew up together and have a really strong bond that allows for mega evolution.
Pure Vanilla caught Eevee when he was also really young. And I'm dragging Shadowvanilla in the room now but eevee is our "wolf and sheep" symbolism stand in. His eevee was really aggressive and Pure Vanilla originally found them trying to hunt his herd of flaaffy. Eevee didn't evolve for the longest time, even after building a better relationship with Pure Vanilla. It wasn't until Truthless Recluse's time in the Spire that eevee evolved into Umbreon (between episode 7-8). Eevee/Umbreon was instantly very affectionate with Shadow Milk. Even after leaving the Spire he still visits Shadow Milk, often with messages from Pure Vanilla.
Altaria was also a childhood pokemon Pure Vanilla caught. Swablu is a stand in for the Blue Birds in Pure Vanilla's idles. Not many people know, but Pure Vanilla is a very good singer, and it's because Altaria helped teach him!
Audino was a pokemon Pure Vanilla caught at Blueberry Yogurt Academy. He and White Lily received one in their healer classes. (White Lily's is a shiny).
Uxie just gives Pure Vanilla vibes, and is the guardian of knowledge ahem truth. Also the design similarities with the closed eyes. Thematically very aligned. On his travels Pure Vanilla encountered them and Uxie sensed their dormant soul jam. For a while Uxie remained hidden and just followed Pure Vanilla around. They eventually revealed their presence and let themselves be caught by him to accompany his travels. Formerly trained by the Sage, Uxie was released into the world after Smilk was captured by the Witches.
Reshiram appeared when Pure Vanilla fully awakened his soul jam. They were asleep in their stone form for many years. They originally belonged to the Sage of Truth before their renouncement of the truth. Was actually very happy to see their original trainer at the spire to Shadow Milk's dismay.
Shadow Milk:
In order from first to last caught: Meowstic, Gengar, Ninetales, Hoopa, Kyurem, Magearna
Meowstic was from Shadow Milk's original team as the Sage. When they were an Espurr the Sage helped them control their powers as to not hurt them. Now they assist Shadow Milk in his other realm, and stayed with Truthless Recluse while they were in the tower.
Gastly was a playful pokemon that the Sage entertained. They haunted the academy the school he used to teach at. They eventually evolved into Gengar and became capable of mega evolution. They are still fond of games and help Smilk terrorize... er entertain people who enter the Spire.
Ninetales is the last member of Smilk's original team as the Sage. And I recently learned that they are found in a place called the "Blueberry Academy terrarium" in one specific pokemon game dare I explain more??? In another game it was also found on the highest peak in the region, which I will use as a reference to the Peak of Truth. I was having a lot more trouble choosing Smilk's pokemon because they couldn't just be haha silly or uh oh powerful they had to be a kind of mix between the two. More often than not he isn't a brute force kind of person either. Ninetales I think is a good balance between all these. During their time with the Sage Ninetales was their blue variant but gradually turned more purple after Smilk's corruption.
If you've watched Hoopa's movie you'd know this is a little chaos maker who loves being a little brat. Smilk and him are on the same wavelength as powerful beings who were sealed away and love a little bit of disrupting society. Definitely spent a lot of time with Candy Apple cookie as a kid they love causing mischief together.
Kyurem appeared after Smilk was corrupted but before he was imprisoned. After absorbing Reshiram they helped the Beasts wreak havoc on the continent. They were frozen away by the witches after Smilk was sealed away in the tree.
Magearna was actually the Sage’s creation. He created the mechanical body and then imbued Magearna life with the soul jam. Magearna stopped functioning however when the soul jams were split. It’s body was left in the spire and forgotten. When Pure Vanilla entered the spire they gradually came back to life. They were able to fully function after the fall of Pure Vanilla. Truthless Recluse found them in the spire and took care of Magearna during his time there. Magearna is now fully functioning again. Wherever Smilk goes it’s not far behind. As annoyed as he acts with its presence, he still harbors some care towards his creation.

Frost Oil
Difficulty:
Journeyman alchemy. While alchemy trainers do not teach this recipe is classes, copies of it can be bought in markets or from alchemists in Hillsbrad Foothills. Goblins are known to trade the rare recipe for a sum of gold.
You Will Need:
Four young hops of Khadgar's Whisker, before they have flowered.
One Dragonsteeth leaf.
One wide-mouthed jar.
One crystal vial, for bottling.
A neutral oil such as fish oil or olive oil.
Personal protection equipment. Gloves, goggles, mask, close-toed shoes, and appropriate labwear.
Recipe:
To brew a vial of Frost Oil, one must first gather the necessary ingredients: four mature hops of Khadgar's Whisker and a single leaf of Dragonsteeth.
Khadgar's Whisker, a grass-like herb with clustered olive green shoots, bears conical, papery hops at the ends of each mature stalk. These hops must be carefully harvested before the plant flowers.
Dragonsteeth, in contrast, is a sage herb imbued with properties of both flame and frost. This sage herb must be asked for permission before plucking its leaves; if amenable, it will drop its leaves to the ground for collection. Any attempt to forcefully remove the leaves will result in a painful, biting grip as the plant folds two leaves inward. Once collected, the reddish portion of the Dragonsteeth leaves will turn waxy and translucent within minutes or hours.
To begin the brewing process, the four Khadgar's Whisker hops must be crushed together with a neutral oil such as fish oil or olive oil until a smooth, consistent paste forms. This mixture is then frozen solid in a jar. Only once ready to add the Dragonsteeth should the jar be thawed.
Holding the Dragonsteeth leaf by its silver end, carefully light the red tip aflame with a match. As the plant material melts like candle wax from red to silver, immediately plunge the silver end into the thawed oil mixture. The oil will ignite for a moment with red flame, but do not be alarmed. This step is natural to the process. When the flame dies down, the silver leaf will smoke and disintegrate to ash, infusing into the oil and transforming it into Frost Oil.
Results & Effects
Frost Oil is a captivating substance, both in its striking visual appearance and in the potent elemental effects it imbues upon weapons. This light blue oil possesses a thick, viscous consistency, clinging to any surface it contacts. The pungent aroma of menthol emanates strongly from Frost Oil, a crisp and biting scent that evokes the very essence of winter's chill.
A weapon coated with this oil takes on an almost mystical appearance, as a layer of shimmering frost forms along the length of the blade or bludgeon, transforming it into an implement of primal cold. When such a weapon strikes true, the power of Frost Oil is unleashed, inflicting not merely the expected wound, but also the cruel bite of frostbite that rapidly numbs and blackens flesh. Victims struck by a Frost Oil-enhanced weapon often suffer debilitating cold damage that lingers long after the initial trauma of the blow.
In the hands of a skilled combatant, a weapon anointed with Frost Oil becomes a fearsome instrument of elemental power, capable of chilling the very blood in an opponent's veins and sapping their strength with each strike.

it is late and i am sleep deprived and i have worked up the nerve to post part of my wip.
so here goes, this is a scene between my main characters. here goes. posting this for people to see.
“You ready?” I ask. She nods slowly. “Are you?”
“I hope so,” I respond. We walk into the final training room, where Madame Cytherea, our new instructor, is standing in the center talking to the other trainees. “You are late,” she tells us, her voice shrill. “Sorry, ma’am,” I respond, hurriedly. I thought class started at 8:00, it's only 7:53. As if to prove my thought, another group of trainees walks in the door.
“Class starts at 7:50, on the dot,” Madame Cytherea informs them. “I know this is your first day, but you need to be punctual if you want to succeed.” The students nod, hurrying to their places. “Alright. I hope everyone is here, as we are already three minutes behind schedule.” Another group of students walk in, cowering under her glare. “What time were you all told that class starts?” she asks them, her voice shaking with rage. “Eight o clock,” a nervous girl whispers. She nods. “Ok then. We will wait until then. And class will run ten minutes late.” The entire room groans. “Next time, everyone should show up on schedule,” she reminds them. I make eye contact with Nyx, who shrugs. I scoot my chair closer to hers. “What do you think of her?” I whisper. “Seems sleep deprived,” Nyx murmurs, deep in thought. “Seems grumpy and obnoxious,” I add. “Indeed.”
“Nyx, do you have a nickname yet?”
“No!” she exclaims in frustration. I put a hand on her shoulder. “All I can think of is Madame C,” she continues, her volume back to a whisper, “And that is so basic.”
Nyx prides herself on teacher nicknames. She drove our third year trainer into early retirement. “It's ok. I like Madame C.”
“No, you don't. But you are sweet to lie.”
I roll my eyes. “I actually like it. She is so stuck up the abbreviation would kill her. And if you say it in the careless way you do, it will do its job. And I don't do flattery, you know that.”
Nyx nods slowly. “Madame C it is, then. Since you want me to be basic.”
I grin. “Just try it.” Nyx nods, and straightens in her seat, raising a hand politely in the air. “Yes?” Madame Cytherea asks, her voice thin. “Can I use the restroom, please?”
“You may.”
“Yes! Thanks, Madame C.” Nyx springs up out of her chair, and skips out the door. Madame C’s face turns several shades darker, the veins in her forehead starting to show. I cover my mouth to hide the smile. I was right, abbreviation was the way to go. Nice job. She looks ready to explode. I project the thought over to Nyx, careful not to invade her mind while sending the message. Already? Nyx’s voice fills my head, You were right on the money, Vala. Nice work! My face warms slightly at the praise, and I feel suddenly grateful Nyx isn't in the room, her blue eyes locking with mine…
A cold, bony fingertip alights on my shoulder. I look up to see Madame C, speak of the devil, staring down at me. “You and your friend will not receive special treatment because of your… connections.” I nod, “Of course, ma’am.”
“Good.” The woman straightens uncomfortably, and walks away. Nyx slides back into her seat. “We won’t be receiving special treatment, except for when we do because everyone is scared of you?” We both know the speech. I nod, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. “They realize that your dad won’t protect you, right?”
“Nope. They are convinced he gives a crap about my happiness.” Nyx chuckles darkly. We both know the truth about my father. Related by blood only. I smile stiffly, starting to feel uncomfortable. She notices, and changes the subject. “How is the phasing working out?”
“I’m making progress,” I reply, glad to talk about something I can control. “I got stuck in the wall yesterday, but I managed to escape within an hour.”
“An hour?” Nyx raises her eyebrows. “But I’m getting better!” I protest. She nods sagely. “But you still chose an over-complicated medium,” she reminds me. I roll my eyes. “You keep reminding me. Yo haven’t even chose anything yet!”
“But I didn’t choose matter manipulation.”
I groan, slumping in my seat. Nyx just rests her head on my shoulder. “I could let your head sink into me right now,” I whisper. “You won’t, though,” she responds. I pause. She’s right. As always. “Shut up,” I shrug my shoulder, forcing her off. “You know me better than that,” she replies, and I can hear the smile in her words.
ok i hope that wasn’t terrible. please give me feedback so i can become functioning as a writer, because this is probably bad. idk. someone tell me, tho

[VIDEO: Blake is seen hiding behind a metal crate with Cheren, back pressed up against its side as they peer around the corner, focused on a large cold storage container in the background.
They wait with bated breath for a few, long seconds, occasionally glancing towards Cheren or Rotom. Still, after what must be a minute or so, nothing happens.
“What’s taking him so long?” Cheren gripes impatiently, trying to poke his head over the shorter trainer.
“I don’t know,” Blake hisses back at him, pushing him away. “Just be patient and wait for his-”
A loud, unexpected bang sounds from inside the container, causing Rotom to jolt and whirl its camera towards its front door. You hear muffled shouts that sound like cries for help inside, and Blake’s eyes go wide.
“Something’s wrong,” they mutter, before sprinting out from their hiding spot and frantically shouting to people not yet visible on screen. “Everyone, Cole’s in trouble! Go, go, go!”
Multiple individuals come pouring out from behind the other containers- several of Blake and Cheren’s Pokémon, and the gym leader Clay with his Excadrill. They all dash up to the door, looking panicked and concerned for whoever’s trapped inside.
Cheren scrambles to grab the lock, rattling as he attempts fruitlessly to yank it off the door. “Gah, how do we get this open?!”
Suddenly, Blake haphazardly shoves him aside, a bit more forcefully than they likely intended. “Let me handle this.”
“The hell are you doin’, kid-” Clay tries to grumble at them, but is quickly stunned to silence when the young trainer lifts their leg and kicks the door with an insane amount of force, causing the thick steel lock to snap open like a mere twig.
Everyone’s jaws drop to the floor as the pair of doors slowly creak open, revealing a crowd of Team Plasma packed densely inside. Two pairs of them have Cole and his Dewott restrained by the arms. In the back, you see a man in a purple cloak carrying a glass container holding a strange Pokemon with a V-shaped crest on its head.
The Plasma Sage furrows his brows at the intruder, before clutching the caged Pokemon close to his side and barking out an order to the men. “Seize them! Now!”
In an instant, chaos unfolds, Pokémon on both sides being sent out and engaging in a viscous clash that shakes the inside of the container like an earthquake. Rotom keeps its focus centered on King, camera locked on her as she skillfully bounces around the enclosed space of the container, evading attack and dishing out a few Leaf Blades of her own against the enemy Pokémon.
Rotom is briefly distracted from the Servine’s graceful, violent dance by Cole, who comes scrambling over to Blake’s side now that he’s free from the other grunts’ grip.
“I’m sorry, Blake,” he pants out a reply, the frigid air turning his breath into white puffs. “I guess they finally caught on to me, I don’t know how-”
“It’s okay, it’s okay,” Blake assures him, half focused on him and half focused on the fight at hand. “For right now, we just need to focus on getting Victini back-”
“Oh?” The sage’s voice rings out over the crashes and booms of battle. He’s perched himself up on a wooden crate, a menacing smile on his wrinkled face as he holds a metal rod up to the cage he carries in his right hand. “It’s Victini you meddlers want? Then it’s Victini you get! Witness the power of the god of victory!”
He bangs the rod against the class wall of the sage, causing sparks to light up within it, zapping the poor Pokemon inside. Victini cries out in agony, its crest lighting up a vibrant orange as heat begins to build up inside.
Seeming to realize what’s going on, Blake swiftly tackles Cole to the ground, just as a searing wave of fire releases from Victini’s crest and goes rushing dangerously over their heads. Rotom shrieks, letting itself drop and clatter to the ground in order to avoid it too.
End video.]

Region-Specific Trainer Classes
Note: I didn't bother to look into the games with multiple regions (GSC, the Sevii Islands in FRLG, Kitakami & Unova in SV) so this may not be correct in those specific instances. This is also excluding story-related classes like evil team rankings & Trial Captains.
Kanto: Channeler, Coach Trainer, Crush Girl, Engineer, Master Trainer, Painter, Rocker, Tamer
Johto: Boarder, Bug Maniac, Firebreather, Medium, Sage
Hoenn: Expert, Free Diver, Kindler, Scuba Diver, Street Thug, Triathlete
Sinnoh: has no original classes! All classes introduced in DPP also appear in Johto's Battle Frontier.
Unova: Baker, Boss Trainer, Harlequin, Hoopster, Infielder, Linebacker, Nurse, Nursery Aide, Pilot, Smasher, Striker
Kalos: Driver, Sky Trainer
Alola: Athlete, Bellhop, Firefighter, Golfer, Pokémon Center Lady, Sightseer, Surfer, Ultra Forest Kartenvoy
Galar: Café Master, Master Dojo Student, Postman
Paldea: Courier, Festival Boy, Festival Girl, Kitakami Ogre Clan, League Club, Ruffian, Student

The Sage trainer class in Johto looks different based on which region your game is from, both for gen 2 and HGSS.
In gen 2, the Japanese and Korean sprite showed a man holding his hand in a prayer motion. In international releases, instead he has his arms crossed possibly to get rid of religious imagery.
In HGSS, the international sprite is unchanged from the Japanese one. And instead the Korean one is heavily changed. It’s likely this sprite was changed so it resembled a korean monk instead.

Funky, your transportation expert for the Pokemon Trainer AU
...Somehow, I don't have a witty comment for this one, but guarantee I am excited.
Funky is one of Diddy's uncles through his mother, and perhaps the one that dispenses some of the more graspable wisdom amidst the family. Unlike the others, he's not a part of the Unova league or even a renowned pokemon trainer in any form. He began his gym challenge much like his older siblings and father before him had, starry-eyed and excited for what awaited, but when he came to face his second gym, he suffered a devastating defeat. Although Funky's pokemon were able to be healed back to tip-top shape, the experience led to him resigning from the gym challenge altogether. As a result, he was encouraged to set his eyes on other pursuits.
Funky is a Unovan native, but has ancestry in too many regions to name here. He's been to all sorts of different regions, and in present day runs a business that provides both air and sea travel as well as a beachside shop for those hoping to take advantage of the endeavors Unova's coasts provide.
His team consists of:
Blaze (Growlithe, male, Relaxed nature)
Crush (Tirtouga, male, Lax nature)
Sage (Pansage, male, Docile nature)
Stripes (Basculin, female, Jolly nature)
Dewey (Ducklett, female, Hasty nature)
Caril (Ferroseed, female, Timid nature)
Some additional fun facts:
-Yes. The first three pokemon in his team are referencing exactly what you may be thinking.
-Design-wise, Funky mostly takes after his appearances in the DKC games. Trainer and character-wise, there's bits and pieces of Gym Leaders Marlon and Skyla as well as the male Swimmer class.
-Immediately following The Incident™, only one other person knew what happened simply because they were the only person Funky felt like he could tell. (It was DK.) Funky himself was the one who ultimately spilled the beans a few months later.
-Funky is the second youngest among his siblings. As a result, he may or may not have a mild case of middle-child syndrome, but he actively tries to avoid letting it spoil his relationship with his siblings and parents.
-Blaze was the only pokemon he had for the longest time. Stripes and Sage came along right before that fateful second gym battle, and Funky only gained the rest later on.
-The pokeball Funky has in his alternate artwork is my own interpretation of a modern jetball from Legends Arceus. We were in for a decently long line of regular pokeballs if I'd given him one too, so I wanted something that more signified his role as the regional transportation that could be used instead of just having the protagonists use fly. (Also I forgot the polka dots lmao.)
-When he was younger and still going to the Trainers School, he managed to convince his entire class that the Battle Subway was cursed while they were on a field trip there. He does not regret it to this day.

re: champion title and efforts
Because Rosa waited to challenge the Elite Four and Iris on her own terms, beyond just “oh, I’ve earned all my badges and challenging the E4 and the Champion is just natural progression”, she ended up handling the championship title a bit better than others who earned the title when they were far too young. Of course, there was still the pressure from all the responsibility, and from now having to be the poster girl for the Unova League, but it wasn’t as overwhelming as it could be, especially if she had jumped in completely unprepared and in the poor state of mind she’d been in right after she won her eighth badge.
It helps that she turned over with Iris, who also became Champion at a young age and was more than happy to share tips on how to deal with the media, the stress, and all of those crazy Champion things that a girl in her late teens wouldn’t normally think about. Additionally, the years between the events of the Plasma Frigate/Giant Chasm and Rosa actually becoming Champion gave her enough time to start dealing with the trauma from said events. While still nowhere close to ideal, she was in a much healthier emotional ( and even physical ) state by the time she challenged Iris. She did face some struggles stemmed from public perception during her first year with the title ( which is a separate piece found here ) but she eventually managed to overcome them.
As Champion, outside from her normal league duties and her blooming acting career, she often finds herself working on projects that help foster strong bonds between trainers and pokémon, or that protect pokémon from harm. She creates the Bring Us Together foundation to support Sage Rood and the former Plasma members in taking care of the pokémon separated from their trainers during the Plasma liberation and tracking down said former trainers so that they can be reunited. Additionally, she funds and helps establish pokémon reserves in areas that are frequented by poachers, such as the Moor of Icirrus and White Forest, to protect these vulnerable pokémon from being hunted or killed. She also finds herself making frequent appearances at the Aspertia Trainer’s School to talk to young hopefuls about the importance of a trainer’s bond with their pokémon and to take some of Cheren’s classes out to Floccesy to capture their first partner.

Character information
Name: Thomasin 'Tammi' Belmond
Age:  29
Gender: Cis woman
Pronouns:  she/her
Species: Werewolf
Face claim: Halston Sage
Character Occupation:  Personal trainer/ gymnast/ gymnastics teacher
Neighbourhood of residence: The Lookout
Affiliation: Holloway Pack
Length of stay in Holloway: All her life
Character summary:
Thomasin affectionately known as Tammi, grew up in Holloway and it's the only life she's known. She was abandoned as a baby and taken in by the pack. Most of her childhood was spent with an older lady who said she was close to her mother, though as she grew, she spent time in group house with other young wolves.
Growing up as a werewolf, life was always simple. Tammi knew who she was and she knew that one day she’d be a wolf like her mother and father. When she was fifteen, she would often look after the other wolf children during a full moon. She was responsible, she knew everyone in the community she'd grown up in and she would always be asked to do things by older members of the pack.
In her later teens, she was tasked with keeping the younger wolves save and secure on the full moon. Unfortunately... she did not leave herself enough time to tie herself up and she could feel herself starting to turn. Thankfully she managed to leave the house before she turned. The children were frightened, but unharmed. Tammi on the other hand did not make it to a secure place and was attacked by confused humans. She was scared, confused and backed into a corner... so her wolf lashed out. She killed three men that had been camping that night. It’s something she will never let go of and something she carries with her every day.
Tammi really struggled with her guilt and pain more than she showed and she dropped out of school at 17 after getting a job a the local gym. She’s been there ever since. She's an energetic and athletic person and she doesn't hate it. She knows a lot of the guys from the pack and those that she doesn’t know, she makes quick friends with. It’s just a job. It pays the bills and Tammi isn’t looking for anything else. She has her friends, she has her pack. She doesn’t need to over complicate her life.
Since she was a child Tammi competed in local gymnastic competitions. It helped with the extra energy she had as a wolf and she was a natural. Though she wouldn't exactly admit to the judges the advantage she had from being a werewolf. She was told it was her mother's passion and Tammi became obsessed with it, wanting to feel close to her. She loved the attention and even now, she loves the sparkling dresses and the routines. She practises a lot in her spare time even if she is getting older now. She teaches a gymnastics class on a Saturday afternoon and a dream would be to make that a full time career. She's just not sure how to get there.
Some might describe Tammi as a little audacious. She’s bold and ahe can be considered unpredictable, her past not helping her emotions. She has never fully let go of that guilt or forgiven herself. Although after what happened in her early teens, she has a need to be safe and secure. This is something she longs for in Holloway.
In her early twenties, she found out that her parents did not abandon her, they had gone out on a full moon and never returned. Not many in the pack talk about their disappearance but it has always been in the back of her mind. And with recent events in town... she wonders if this has happened before.

WELCOME TO HEXMORE, SOPH (32/GMT). HEXMORE WAS FOUNDED BY WITCHES, BUT IS NOW HOME TO, TAMMI BELMOND (HALSTON SAGE). SHE/HER IS a 30 YEAR OLD WEREWOLF. BORN IN HEXMORE, ILLINOIS. THEY HAVE RESIDED IN HEXMORE FOR ALL THEIR LIFE, WHERE THEY WORK AS A PERSONAL TRAINER AND GYMNASTICS TEACHER AT THE LOCAL GYM. THEY CONSIDER THEMSELVES TO BE AFFILIATED WITH THE MACHLACHLAN PACK AND THE DISAPPEARANCE OF HAZEL MORA HAS LEFT THEM WORRIED FOR THE SAFETY OF HER OWN FAMILY.
Name: Thomasin ‘Tammi’ Belmond
Age:  30
Gender: Cis woman
Pronouns:  she/her
Species: Werewolf
Face claim: Halston Sage
Character Occupation:  Personal trainer / gymnastics teacher
Affiliation: Machlachlan Pack
Length of stay in Hexmore: All her life
Thomasin affectionately known as Tammi, grew up in Hexmore and it’s the only life she’s known. Her family has resided in the small town for centuries and are longstanding members of the Machlachlan Pack. She is the youngest of three siblings and most of her childhood was spent with her older brother and sister. Though as she grew, so did her rebellion and she spent time in group house with other young wolves.
Growing up as a werewolf in Hexmore, life always made sense. Her parents worked hard and they were well respected in Hexmore and the pack. Tammi knew who she was, she knew that one day she’d be a strong wolf like her mother and father. When she was fifteen, she would often look after the other wolf children during a full moon. She was trained well and responsible, she knew everyone in the community she’d grown up in and she would always be asked to do things by older members of the pack.
In her later teens, she was tasked with keeping the younger wolves safe and secure on the full moon. Unfortunately… she did not leave enough time to tie herself up and she could feel herself starting to turn. Thankfully she managed to leave the house before she fully became her wolf form. The children were frightened, but unharmed. Tammi on the other hand did not make it to a secure place and was attacked by confused and frightened humans. She was scared, confused and backed into a corner… so her wolf lashed out. She killed three people that had been camping that night. Her family may have covered it up with their status in town but it’s something she can't let go of and something she carries with her every day.
Tammi really struggled with her guilt and pain more than she showed and she barely graduated from high school. She knew she wasn't going to go to college and she found herself a job at the local gym. She’s been there ever since. She’s an energetic and athletic person and she rather likes her job. She knows a lot of the guys from the pack and those that she doesn’t know, she makes quick friends with. It’s just a job. It pays the bills and Tammi isn’t looking for anything else. She has her family, her friends, she has her pack. She doesn’t need to over complicate her life.
Since she was a young child, Tammi competed in local gymnastic competitions. It helped with the extra energy she had as a wolf and she was a natural. Her parents always wanted their children to be more than just wolves, they encouraged them to have hobbies and interests outside the pack. Though she couldn’t exactly admit to the judges the advantages she had from being a werewolf. She loved the attention she got from competing, and even now, she loves the sparkling dresses and being prasied. She practises a lot in her spare time even if she is getting older now. She teaches a gymnastics class on a Saturday and a dream would be to make that a full time career. She’s just not sure how to get there.
Some might describe Tammi as a little audacious. She’s bold and she can be considered unpredictable, her past doesn't always help with her emotions. She has never fully let go of that guilt or forgiven herself. Although after what happened in her early teens, she has a need to be safe and secure. This is something she longs for in Hexmore and the disappearances aren't helping.

Edan Gelt is Back | Navigating Aging Fitness and Wellness with Grace
In the distant past of 2017, I embarked on a challenge that saw me sweating through 30 unique workouts in 30 days, all while diligently chronicling my fitness journey on a blog. The motivation behind this endeavor was twofold: to test my physical limits and to generate content for a fledgling fitness app that had me hooked on the thrill of the challenge.
Fast forward six years, and that blog page still exists, patiently waiting for fresh content. Why, you ask? Well, because fitness has become an inseparable part of my daily routine, and as I approach the big 5-0 in a few short years, it's more than just a workout—it's my mental and physical sanctuary.
My weeks are peppered with bike rides, covering up to 60 miles, weather permitting (and my neck cooperating), and bootcamp classes at the local gym a few days each week. Yet, something interesting has happened over the years. I've evolved into what I like to call the "modifier." You see, I used to look at those individuals who modified exercises during workouts and wondered if I could avoid going down that road. Spoiler alert: I couldn't. Now, lunges and squats tend to leave me with a knee the size of a grapefruit for the following week, my shoulder occasionally stages a protest, and every so often, I find myself pulling something I didn't even know I had.
While it might be a sign that high-intensity bootcamp sessions may not be the ideal fit for my body anymore, I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet. In fact, this year, I'm pursuing certification as a personal trainer. My passion for exercise has evolved into a desire to help other women who, like me, are gracefully navigating the seas of aging. While it won't be my full-time profession, I foresee my newfound skill set as a delightful hobby.
Now, let's get down to brass tacks. Exercising as you gracefully age is a bit like a well-choreographed dance—one that requires careful attention to avoid stepping on your own toes. Here are some tips I live by, and I hope they serve you well on your fitness journey:
1. Consult Your Healthcare Provider: Always, and I mean always, consult with your healthcare provider before diving headfirst into a new exercise routine, especially if you have any pre-existing medical conditions or lingering concerns. Their insights are invaluable.
2. Baby Steps: If you've been somewhat inactive lately, start with gentle exercises and work your way up gradually. No need to rush; your body will thank you for the patience.
3. Warm-Up and Cool Down: Just like a fine wine, your muscles need a warm-up to get the juices flowing before you dive into the workout. Likewise, cool down to gracefully ease your heart rate back to normal and prevent those post-workout stiffness surprises.
4. Balance and Flexibility: These are your new best friends. Embrace exercises like yoga, tai chi, or balance training to boost stability and reduce the odds of unplanned acrobatics.
5. Strength Matters: Maintaining muscle mass and bone density should be a priority. Use light weights, resistance bands, or your own body weight to sculpt those muscles. Start gently, and let the resistance grow as you do.
6. Cardiovascular Love: Show your heart some love with aerobic activities such as walking, swimming, or cycling. Shoot for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity cardio each week.
7. Listen to Your Body: Your body is a wise sage. Pay close attention to its signals during and after exercise. If you experience pain, dizziness, or shortness of breath, don't be a hero—stop and seek advice as needed.
8. Stay Hydrated: Hydration is your secret weapon. Drink water before, during, and after workouts to keep your body in top form.
9. Form Matters: Learning the right form is like learning the steps to an intricate dance routine. It's crucial to prevent strain or injury. Consider working with a certified fitness trainer who can be your dance partner.
10. Mix It Up: Variety is the spice of life. Keep your routine fresh and exciting by incorporating different types of exercises to engage various muscle groups. Your body will thank you for the entertainment.
11. Joint Care: As you age, your joints can become a tad finicky. Be mindful of any joint discomfort, and adjust your exercises accordingly. Low-impact activities like swimming or stationary biking are often joint-friendly alternatives.
12. Stretch it Out: Embrace the art of stretching to maintain or enhance your flexibility. Stretch both before and after your workouts to ensure your body moves like a well-oiled machine.
13. Rest and Recovery: Your body isn't a perpetual motion machine. Give it the rest and recovery it deserves between workouts. Overtraining can lead to injuries and burnout, and nobody wants that.
14. Footwear Wisdom: Proper shoes are like your trusty dance shoes. They provide support and stability, reducing the chances of embarrassing slips and falls. So, choose wisely.
15. Stay Informed: Lastly, stay in the loop. Keep abreast of the latest exercise recommendations for the gracefully aging. New research and guidelines can be the North Star on your fitness journey.
In conclusion, aging gracefully doesn't mean giving up on exercise; it means embracing it in a smart and tailored way. Your fitness journey is unique, just like you. So, take these tips, put on your workout shoes, and let's continue dancing through the beautiful symphony of life.
