So…
Some of my songs are not really TWST…should I upload them anyway?
I mean I could tie it to TWST, but I don’t want all my songs to be related to TWST…I kind of want to make this an everything blog as much as possible…
But anyways.
I finished the song I’m working on and it SLAPS!!!! One of the longest, hardest projects I’ve done. Definitely went outside of my comfort zone for this one…
Can’t wait to show you all!

How Long Does it Take to Grow an Apple Tree?

The light requirements for apples may change between different varieties, but apple trees generally need about 8 hours of sunlight every day during the growing season. An apple tree in the shade takes longer to grow and will be spindly, meaning there will be a higher chance of breaking and bending when it starts to bear fruit.
Though sunlight is important during spring and summer, apple trees won't do so well in heat over 32 degrees Celsius. They make up for this by being more resistant to cold, with some varieties capable of surviving in winters as cold as -40 degrees.
Remember that for pollination to happen, you must have more than one apple tree. If the neighbours also have an apple tree, or wild crab apple trees are growing in the area, this should be enough, as long as they are within 30 metres or so from your tree. If that's not the cause, you must purchase two trees to grow apples at home.
Dwarf vs Semi-Dwarf vs Standard Trees
If you have a relatively small garden or want to grow your trees in pots, then a dwarf apple tree is the best fit for these conditions. They will usually grow up to 1.8 or 2.4 metres in height and need about the same amount of space around to thrive. They can start producing fruit a couple of years after you're done planting.
Standard apple trees are much larger by comparison, as they grow up to 8 metres in height and need a lot more space around them. It will take about 4-6 years to start growing fruit, but the wait is worth it, as they are the most productive apple tree type out there.
Semi-dwarf trees are between the standard and dwarf varieties in size and time needed to produce fruit, so they're a good alternative.
Growing an Apple Tree From Seed
It may take a while to see fruits from an apple tree growing from seed, as you will need to wait a long time, somewhere between 5 to 10 years. Keep that in mind going forward, as it is risky, and the apple seeds rarely run true to type. Even if you saved the seeds from a nice apple you enjoyed recently, there is no guarantee that the apple tree you grow from its seeds will produce the same type of apple, which will take years to find out.
That being said, there is a strong sense of accomplishment when you grow an apple tree from seed. You never know; maybe the fruit you grow will taste even better than the apple you ate to make this happen. If you want to make it happen, try the following steps:
Gather as many seeds as possible, as the germination rate for apple seeds, is a mere 30%; you will need plenty.
Place the seeds in a plastic bag with a damp paper towel, leaving the bag open a bit. Put this into your fridge for about six weeks, ensuring the towel stays moist.
Once that time is over, you will notice some seeds have sprouted. Move them into small pots, planting them, so the sprouted part is just above the soil's surface.
You could also plant them outside, but their chance of survival will be smaller, so it's best to keep them as seedlings in pots until they reach about 15 centimetres high. Once that happens, you can replant them outside.

Challenges of Growing Christmas Trees
Like the magic of the Christmas season, the humble Christmas tree is a gift that brings beauty and life to our homes. Burkholder has a big supply of Christmas trees this year, even though 2022 brought significant challenges for Christmas tree growers. Those challenges resulted in some places experiencing a shortage of fresh trees due to the supply chain and weather conditions in certain parts of the country. We will explore the challenges of growing Christmas trees this year, what the industry is facing, and where you can get a live, fresh Christmas tree this year.

Issues With Growing Christmas Trees
Over the past few years, the live Christmas tree industry faced several challenges, ranging from the supply chain to climate. One issue affecting many businesses across the United States is continuing freight/shipping/logistics/supply chain slowdowns. In addition, some places that sell Christmas trees, but purchase them from other sources, like farms, are experiencing issues with getting enough trees shipped to them in time. Another reason for a potential shortage is the climate and weather.
The summer of 2022 was arid, with many countries experiencing drought. These drought conditions significantly impacted plant development. Growing Christmas trees requires, patience, as trees take around ten years to mature and need specific soil conditions to thrive: if the soil is too wet, issues like root rot occur; if the soil is too dry, the trees can get stunted. Because of the dry summer earlier this year, Christmas tree farmers had to tap into other irrigation methods to keep their supply healthy. As a precaution, farmers often plant more trees than necessary to mitigate losing trees. However, the length and severity of this year’s drought may have resulted in limited Christmas tree stock.
Burkholder’s Christmas Trees
If you want a place to get Christmas trees, visit Burkholder’s Holiday Market. We have a large collection of live Christmas trees to purchase. This year, we will have a more extensive selection of live Christmas trees, including a new species and more small trees. While plenty of trees are available, you may be wondering which species to get. Different species of trees offer characteristics that some people may prefer while retaining the qualities of a good Christmas tree. Below are the different species we have available at our Holiday Market.
Fraser Fir
The Fraser fir is native to the Appalachian Mountains in the Southeastern U.S. The Fraser fir is one of the most popular species for Christmas trees. Named after Scottish botanist John Fraser, the tree has several characteristics that make it a good choice for a Christmas tree.
Strong limbs to retain shape
Soft, dark-green needles so your fingers will stay safe hanging the ornaments
Mild, pleasant fragrance, which is good for people with allergy concerns
Compact form and size for easy transportation
Turkish Fir
The Turkish fir makes an excellent choice for people looking for a more exotic Christmas tree. Turkish firs are native to a single region in the entire world, Mount Ida in northwestern Turkey, and have traits that make this species an increasingly popular choice for homeowners.
Short, deep green needles that stick upward, revealing a bright, silvery underside and creating a flashy two-tone effect

A waxy texture to the needles helps restrict fragrances, which is good for those with allergies or sensitivities
Sturdy branches give the tree a conical shape, with a dense foliage
Fraser-Balsam Fir
For those interested in the classic, traditional Christmas tree, look for a new tree we have available at our Holiday Market: the Fraser-Balsam fir. The Fraser-Balsam cross fir is a hybrid of the Fraser and Balsam fir trees, with the benefits and characteristics of both species.
Shiny, waxier, dense needle coverage and retention
Durable, sturdy branches and structure
A nice fragrance, giving you a pleasant, festive aroma without being overpowering

IF MONEY GREW ON TREES
If money grew on trees, wouldn’t that be a good thing? Then everyone would have money, right? Not really—here is a more realistic scenario. Laws would be passed regulating the growing of money trees. Only the government, certain wealthy people, and large corporations would be allowed to grow money trees. The money tree seeds would be coins, which if planted in rich enough soil, would grow into large trees with paper money growing on the branches. Genetically engineered money trees would produce larger yields of money. The trees would be fertilized with the sweat of underpaid and overworked migrant workers. Derivatives would be sprayed on the orchards to guard against hedge-fund managers. Police would scour the countryside looking for illegally grown money trees and destroy them. Anyone who was caught illegally growing money trees would be arrested, and long prison sentences would be meted out to anyone growing or possessing money who was not approved by the government. Some people would try to grow their own money trees, and hybrids would be developed that were small enough to be grown indoors. A black market would develop which would give non-law-abiding citizens the money they needed to buy things they didn’t deserve, like food. The police would search the pockets of anyone they thought looked suspicious, and if they found any contraband money in their pockets, they would be arrested. Huge orchards of money trees would be surrounded by high fences and armed guards. The orchards, ostensibly run by the government, would actually be run by organized crime. Politicians would warn of the dangers of other countries growing their own money. Any country that tried to grow money without the consent of the oligarchy would be invaded and their money trees sprayed with Agent Orange. Any land that had money trees growing on it would be confiscated to keep the world financially secure. Large military bases would be set up to keep the money orchards safe from marauding poor people. The Supreme Court would rule that because “money is speech” anyone who wanted to practice free speech would have to pay heavy taxes, which would lessen the effect of the rabble being aroused by keeping all those annoying poor people from voicing their stupid and unwanted opinions. Anyone who disagreed with the ruling class that money is speech would be labeled a terrorist and assassinated or sent to Syria or someplace even worse for extraordinary rendition and enhanced interrogation. Of course, we know none of this could ever happen because money doesn’t grow on trees—it’s printed on printing presses.IF MONEY GREW ON TREESIf money grew on trees, wouldn’t that be a good thing? I feel bad for MC :c don't know what Rook will do with that info but he certainly isn't the most trustworthy... also i hope your back is okay!
OH YEAH, MY BACK IS FINE :D
Yeah, not gonna lie MC is in some serious pain. That’s what happens when humans interact with Spirits for too long (lol)!
I admit, Rook certainly does NOT seem trustworthy at first glance. But since Rook had to fulfill the deed first, I’m gonna trust in the fact that he’ll do use it for good...hopefully.
But just to be clear...he isn’t your enemy, but he certainly isn’t your ally, and he’s not in between :).
