I love that we got to revisit this moment twice during the show, adding layers of context each time. Something I've always appreciated about Steven Universe is its commitment to continuity (character heights be damned). When something is revealed about a character, like a trait they have or a quirk they exhibit, that trait can be seen in them long before the show ever talks about it. I feel like this sets Steven Universe apart from other animated kid's shows of its era (save for a few). There was a real narrative being woven together through each episode that rewarded audiences for paying attention.

If the show were to be renewed, I'd love to see new context and explanations added to the story that can be noticed again upon rewatch.

you know, since people like to make up their own artistic interpretations of the whole "disturbing scary biblically-accurate angel" concept, i think a fun way to play with it would be to go for the butterfly aspect. a winged creature whose wings display countless and countless of eyes. dead, unblinking, always staring and always seeing eyes, made to mimic the eyes of the things you fear the most. the unsettling aesthetic is there we gotta do something with this

a huge pet peeve i have is people not understanding what a phobia is. phobias are irrational fears. If you are afraid of scary clowns, thats not a phobia, the clowns are just scary. of course youre scared of giggles the murderclown. but if the funny clowns scare you shitless, then yeah thats a phobia. if ur afraid of a bunch of holes close together, regardless of context, then yes you have tripophobia. but if ur only scared when those holes are in human flesh?? thats not a phobia thats just scary as fuck!!!! i hate when people use a genuine thing that some people struggle with as a funny personality quirk
