i stayed awake until i came full circle - palisade ficlet

Figure didn’t even try to go back to sleep. Sometimes, you woke up from a dream and knew that was a bad idea, if it was even a possibility.
So instead they creeped out of the crew quarters, down the hall, down to the kitchen. Chamomile tea was a quick fix, something to take off a bit of their nerves at least even if they couldn’t taste it. Mug in hand, they walked over to the media room.
They were still so in their head that they didn’t hear the sound of the TV until they opened the door. Inside was Cori, reflexively going for the remote. “Figure! I’m sorry, was I too loud, I can turn it down.”
“No, no, I, uh, didn’t even hear it.”
“Oh. Then, what’s up?”
“I couldn’t sleep.” They gestured with their mug. “You mind some company?”
“No, uh, go ahead.”
He took a seat in an armchair. “What are you watching?”
She gave him a small smile. “Seeing Through the Nebula.” She grabbed the remote and unpaused it. “It’s another Mirage romance movie. I’ve seen it probably a hundred times.”
“Must be a good one then.”
“Yeah, it is,” she said softly.
He’d been expecting a little more enthusiasm. Instead, the sad edge to her voice made Figure look at Cori more closely. She was under a blanket, three or four of her stuffed animals pulled up next to her, with a box of tissues on the end table between them. She wasn’t meeting his gaze, but Figure could see red rims around her eyes.
“Cori,” they said, “...is everything alright?”
Cori swallowed. “Yeah. Yeah, I’m fine, don’t worry about it.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, I’m sure, Figure.”
“Okay,” they said, putting their hands up. “Just checking.”
“Right. Uh, thank you.”
Her eyes were fixed on the screen. A room of flamboyantly dressed people danced, music swelling underneath it.
“I just,” Cori said, “I couldn’t really sleep either.” She glanced at them, just for a split second. “Have you… been thinking about the Dust stuff?”
“Yeah. I, uh, keep dreaming about it. Like I’m still back there.”
She nodded. “It was pretty freaky.”
“That’s for sure.” Freaky was an understatement, especially for how real it felt - the way that even now they could feel their captain’s jacket around their shoulders, that they’d memorized the layout of the ship they commanded. Cori didn’t need to know that, though. “It’s been sticking with me.”
Cori nodded again. “I get that. Things are hard to shake off. I keep thinking about it too.”
Slowly, he said, “About your dad?”
“Yeah,” she said weakly. Figure watched her take an unsteady breath. “It was awful. I know it wasn’t real, and he’d never do that, he always wanted to help people, I just- ugh.” She pressed the heels of her hands to her eyes.
“Hey, I’m sorry-”
“It’s fine,” she said, shaking her head. “It wasn’t real. Just that thing messing with me.”
“It wasn’t real,” they agreed, even as something pulled at them. “And you don’t deserve to be treated that way, ever. Like you’re… just a pawn. You’re not, Cori.”
She shot him a weak smile. “Thanks.” She looked back at the screen. “It wasn’t real, anyway.”
“Still.” On screen, Figure watched the dancers swirl. “The worst thing about it for me was just… all of you being gone.”
“Figure,” Cori said, her voice thick.
“I could barely stand it. Every time I dream it, I’m so relieved when I wake up and remember you’re all okay.”
“We are. I wasn’t dead there, anyway.”
“You were. You were, I just… it just wasn’t real. And I could save you.”
“It wasn’t real,” she agreed. “We got out of there.”
“We did. Thanks to you.”
She smiled again, almost embarrassed. “Yeah.”
Still, the images flashed in his brain. The pin with her wings; the Paramyrion limping into the flight bay; Cori throwing herself into danger; her puking on the command room floor; the way she’d looked at Elle when Dust’s images cleared, disbelieving and angry and nauseous, fists balling as they slipped away.
“Cori,” Figure said, “if I ask you to be careful, will you be?”
“I’m always careful, Figure-“
“Okay, are you, though?”
“Well, it’s not like I’m trying to get hurt.” She looked pained. “It’s just… what’s that thing Eclectic says? Arms are cheap?”
“Jesus, Cori-“
“Can we just leave it?” She had her eyes screwed shut. “Please?”
“Sure.” They breathed. “Sorry. I don’t mean to push.”
“I’m sorry too. You’re not- you’re right. We’re just… we’re all soldiers. I want to keep you guys safe. I want to keep everyone safe.”
Suddenly, she looked so small. Curled up on the couch, a sad and distant look on her face.
“Hug?” Figure asks.
She laughed, and it came out a little wet. She stood, took half a step their way, and leaned down to wrap her arms around them. They were antsy about their body these days, worried about scratching people or not knowing their own strength, but Cori squeezed them tightly like she wasn’t worried or scared or even thinking of them as any different
She smiled when she pulled away, and Figure did the same. “Thanks,” Cori said.
“Same to you.” As she sits back down, they nod to their mug. “I should have asked, do you want any tea? I boiled some water, it’s probably still warm.”
She looks at the mug, thinking. “Do we… still have any hot chocolate packets?”
“Hell yeah we do.” They stand.
Cori laughs. “Thanks.”
“My pleasure.”

Like the Sun and the Moon
Chapter 5: A Mother’s Sorrow
Chapter Index
As the last rays of light finally disappeared behind the horizon, Makoto gave a quick prayer at the shrine, apologizing to the god for what was about to ensue.
Inosuke sat impatiently waiting, his irritation growing by the second. All he’s been doing since pairing up with Makoto was waiting and he was getting annoyed. He wanted to fight, not sit around!
“Hey! Kontomo! How much longer do I gotta-!” but he cut himself off as the sound of rippling water caught their ears.
Eyes darting to the shore, Makoto stood up, placing a hand on the hilt of her katana.
“Inosuke, remember what I told you during Final Selection?” she whispered, creeping over to him.
“Nope!” he grinned, anticipation building up in his veins.
“I can’t fight head-on, so I’m leaving this part to you,” she informed, before jumping off and disappearing into the shadows.
“That’s fine by me! You go and hide and I’ll show you why I’m the greatest!” he cackled, running towards the shore and swinging his blades.
Jumping out of the water, the demon landed behind Inosuke. Swinging her webbed claws, he easily dodged and sliced off her arms.
Watching her stumble back, Inosuke cackled at her pained yelp.
The demon was soaking wet with unruly long, black hair. It looked almost like kelp as it stuck to her slimy, bloated skin. Her kimono hung loosely on her frame, and what had once been a pale pink was now muddied and discolored, turning rotten shades of green, brown, and gray.
She reeked of lake water and decay, but there was also some kind of sweet, underlying iron smell that seemed to surround them as well. It was faint, so faint Inosuke was a little surprised he even noticed it, but the combination of it and the demon burned his nose.
“Ugh, you smell as gross as you look,” Inosuke gagged.
“I won’t let you…” she muttered, repeating it over and over again.
“I won’t let you separate me from any more of my children!” she stretched, revealing large whited out eyes and a mouth full of pin-like teeth.
Regrowing her arms in an instant, she charged at Inosuke once more, slashing and screeching. Her voice was loud and ear-piercing, causing Inosuke’s ears to ring.
“They’re mine! They’re mine! I won’t let you take them!” she screamed, causing Inosuke to flinch every time he got too close.
“They’re mine! I took them fair and square!” she screeched.
She was so loud Inosuke was starting to get a slight headache. Pushing himself off a tree, Inosuke flew straight at her.
“Beast Breathing, Sixth Fang: Palisade Bite!” he shouted, slicing off her arms.
Stumbling back, she was just barely able to dodge his attack. Getting her mouth sliced instead of her neck.
Panting heavily, the demon was starting to feel drowsy, making it hard to think straight. She was just fine a little while ago, so there was no way she could be this tired already!
That was when she smelt it. A delectable smell.
Before the demon could react, however, Inosuke flung at her once more. Still recovering from his previous attack, the demon’s kelp-like hair flew towards him. As if it had a will of its own, the clumps of slimy black hair reached for Inosuke in an attempt to tie him up. Overwhelming fear only filled her, however, as Inosuke easily cut through them, flying closer and closer.
“Nooo!” she shouted, his cackle ringing in her ears as she shielded her face with her arms.
Squeezing her eyes shut she could hear Inosuke shouting his attack when the sound of metal banging against something hard rang throughout the air.
Opening her eyes, the demon found an extremely large turtle-like creature blocking the attack with its shell.
The delicious smell from earlier was now gone too.
Landing between Inosuke and the demon. The turtle’s body was an amalgamation of human body parts. It had the head of a child whose face had started morphing into a turtle, and its neck and limbs were covered in thick scales. On its back, it wore an extremely large shell, the ridges looking like that of a baby’s face.
“What the-!” Inosuke cursed before the she-demon cried out.
“My baby!” she howled before multiple sharp pricks pierced her back.
Whipping around, the mother demon found multiple darts stuck in her, but not who shot them. While she pulled them out and threw them to the side, the turtle demon didn’t even realize it was also shot while it threw a punch at Inosuke. Despite its size, it was much faster than its mother.
As the fist grew closer, Inosuke felt a cold thin metal wrap around his torso that roughly pulled him back. Twisting his body into a backflip, the metal released him and allowed him to land safely.
“Sleep Breathing, Third Form Modified: Dream Catcher, Catch-and-Rescue!” Makoto breathed.
She was out of breath and dripping in a cold sweat. Where had that turtle come from? She was so focused on staying hidden while wafting the smell of her blood around the island that she hadn’t noticed it emerge from the lake.
Looking up, Inosuke found Makoto’s back to him with the hilt of her sword in her hands. He watched in awe as the 12 toothed metal wipe snapped back together with a flick of her wrist.
That’s when he noticed the cut on her forearm.
“I’m sorry Inosuke, are you alright?!” she shouted over her shoulder, eyes never leaving the pair in front of her.
Snapping out of his daze, Inosuke hollered, “I didn’t need your help!”
“And why are you bleeding?!” he demanded, charging back towards the two demons.
“You don’t have to concern yourself with that, we have to defeat these two!” Makoto responded, dodging the question while looking for the demon’s weaknesses.
“You didn’t answer my question!” Inosuke snapped before getting cut off by the turtle demon.
It lunged at them, aiming to crush the two demon slayers under its fists when they dodged.
Stumbling, the mother demon cursed, “You brat! What did you shoot at me?!”
She was starting to see double and the world seemed to spin. Each breath she took seemed to grow shorter and shorter, and gravity on land only grew heavier.
“The lake! I need to get back to the lake!” she panted, panic settling in her bones.
“You’re not going anywhere!” Inosuke declared, running towards her only to get intercepted by the turtle again.
Jumping back, Inosuke growled, “That stupid thing is annoying!”
Charging at it once more, his blades only violently rang out as they hit its back or arms.
“The stomach! Its weak point is its stomach!” Makoto shouted, readying her sword as she realized it was protecting its soft underbelly.
“I already know that!” Inosuke shouted, charging towards the demon once more.
Steeling her nerves, Makoto didn’t have time to overthink or hesitate. She knew what she was getting into when she decided to become a demon slayer, Sanemi warned her countless times.
Turning her sword to herself, the two demon’s snapped their heads to her. The smell of her blood drew their attention away from Inosuke.
Instantly, the strong smell of flowers flooded their noses. Lilac, Jasmine, Lavender, and Roses among the disgusting amount of scents. It was so strong, even Inosuke could vaguely smell the floral scent hidden under the iron of blood.
The mother demon was practically crawling at this point towards the lake as her child’s movements slowed. Bringing a hand up to cover its nose, the turtle demon let out a loud roar.
“Inosuke now!” Makoto cried, grabbing the hilt of her sword and running forward.
“Don’t tell me what to do!” he hollered.
“Beast Breathing, Second Fang: Rip and Tear!” he shouted, slicing the turtle's belly open.
“My baby!” the mother demon screeched, looking over her shoulder.
Landing on top of the turtle, Inosuke’s eyes were barely able to catch the blur that sped past him towards the remaining demon.
Reaching out for the now shrinking turtle, the demon’s eyes widened as she was suddenly surrounded in a soft, floral mist. In front of her, was herself. The image of who she was before becoming a demon. In her arms, she cradled the child she had lost many years ago.
“Yoshi…” she croaked, only to snap back reality.
“Sleep Breathing, Fourth Form: Sleep Paralysis,” Makoto whispered, slicing the demon’s neck in one, swift motion.
Rolling to soften her landing, Makoto stood up. Looking back as the mother demon’s body collapsed to the ground, her head didn’t fall far.
“Yoshi…!” she cried, tears pouring from her eyes.
“No, please! Please stop! You’ll kill ‘em!” she begged, trying to drag her body towards Inosuke and the tiny turtle.
“The hell ya yapping about?!” Inosuke snapped, realizing Makoto had played him.
She had planned this. She used those special smells of her to mess with the demons while Inosuke fought. While hiding, she pinpointed their weaknesses from their fight and planned accordingly. But the worst part?
He didn’t sense a single drop of bloodlust from her during their entire fight.
Following the demon's outstretched arm, Makoto turned to the crying turtle under Inosuke’s foot. The mother demon was desperately reaching for it, but the sleep darts Makoto had shot into her body had already taken effect.
Sheathing her sword, Makoto made her way over to Inosuke. Softly pushing him aside, she ignored his irritated comments and picked up the crying turtle. The two demons were already disintegrating when Makoto placed it into its mother’s arms.
Cradling it close, the mother demon cooed, “Shh, shh. It’s okay now, mommy’s got you.”
Despite turning to ash, the mother demon felt no pain as she held her little one close. Rubbing its head, she sang to it lovingly. Its cries softening until they were nothing more than whimpers and gurgles.
Watching the mother demon sing her baby to sleep, Inosuke couldn’t help but feel a strange sense of Deja Vu. The fuzzy memory of being held flashing into his mind. There was a gentle smile that sang something to him.
Kissing her baby one last time, the two’s bodies disappeared. The gentle breeze blowing specks of their ash away.
“It seems… like her baby was of her own creation…” Makoto whispered, her voice lost in her throat.
Controlling her breathing, she stopped the bleeding on her arm. Kneeling down, she simply watched the ash fly away.
Watching the mother demon so desperately cling to her baby reminded Makoto of painful memories. The image of her mother and younger siblings flashed into her mind, but it was nothing compared to that memory.
The most agonizing pain shot through her chest as she remembered everything that happened that night.
Swallowing harshly, Makoto’s throat burned and she was finding it hard to breathe. Gripping her haori sleeve tightly, it took everything she had to not break down right there.
Standing up, Makoto’s hoarse voice snapped Inosuke from his thoughts.
“They’re coming up now,” she forced herself to say, turning to the lake.
Following her gaze, Inosuke waited and watched as nothing happened. About to call her out for lying, he cut himself off as the bodies of seven to ten children slowly floated up from the lake’s debts. All under the age of ten, they were bloated and rotting, clearly drowned.
“I think she tied them down to the bottom of the lake with her hair, the demon I mean,” Makoto explained.
Refusing to turn and let Inosuke see the tears that threatened to spill, Makoto instead pulled out her sword. Flicking her wrist, she easily expanded the blade before turning her head slightly towards him.
“Inosuke, I’m sorry, but can you do me a favor?” she asked, voice softer than normal.
“Why should I?” he huffed, crossing his arms.
“Please?” she simply said, pausing before adding on, “I… don’t want their parents to see them like this.”
Thinking for a long second, Inosuke reluctantly caved in.
“Fine, but only because I’m just that awesome!” he proclaimed, freezing when Makoto finally turned to look at him.
“Thank you,” she smiled. It was sad but warm; genuine and full of gratitude.
Inosuke’s eyes widened behind his mask at the sight. The rising sun casting a halo behind her, and for a second, he thought something otherworldly was standing before him.
After barring the victims of the mother demon and her kimono, Inosuke and Makoto soon left the town. Walking side by side, he silently watched Makoto from behind his mask.
She seemed to be fine, acting the same as she before everything, but Inosuke now noticed a melancholic aura she seemed to have. He wondered if it was something that she had always had, or if he just now noticed it because of the demon they had slain.
Crossing his hands behind his head, Inosuke’s mind wandered back to the demon holding her baby and the memory that had flashed through his mind. He couldn’t help but ponder on where it had come from, and why he suddenly remembered it. If he really focused, he felt like he could almost hear the words that soft smile spoke.
Suddenly screaming, he startled Makoto as he gave up.
“That’s too much thinking!” he growled, frustrated.
“What is?” Makoto softly pried, tilting her head.
“Nothing!” he snapped, a puff of steam blowing out of the boar mask’s nose.
They were quiet after that, Inosuke busy grumbling under his breath. After a minute of this, Makoto took a deep breath before running in front of him. He merely gave her a confused grunt as she walked backward, hands behind her back.
“Inosuke, I wanted to thank you,” she started, only confusing the boy more.
Bringing her hands close to her chest, Makoto looked away ashamed, her cheeks tinting the slightest shade of pink.
“You see, despite being a swordsman, I’m not really good at confrontation. If it were just me up against that mother demon and her child, I’m not sure I would have survived,” she explained.
Looking back up at him, Inosuke felt his stomach flutter at Makoto’s smile. She had smiled at him before, but the way her lips pulled up and her eyes made little crinkles made him feel like he was air.
“Thank you for being there, I couldn’t have done it without you,” she laughed, causing the boy’s heart to skip a beat.
“Stop that!” he suddenly shouted, catching Makoto off guard.
“Huh?” she blinked confused.
“What’s with you! You’re so weird! Stop making me giddy!” he babbled, rushing past her.
Just like when they first met, Makoto was left behind not knowing what just happened. Staring at him surprised, she was only able to catch bits and pieces of what Inosuke was shouting about. Despite this, a tired, yet amused laugh slipped past her lips as she chased after him.

My Savagez part 6

Word count: 5K
Warnings: fluff angst 18 and older type of vibe
I woke up the next morning and I hurt everywhere, the good kind of hurt. I stretched my limbs feeling new in my skin. I had a smile that wouldn’t quit. I rolled onto my back and realized I was alone in the bed. I could hear them outside laughing and talking and it made my heart swell, we all were happy! I needed this moment to myself, to let this new me take over. I closed my eyes remembering the flashbacks of last night, I bit my lip and quickly released it. Ouch, they were swollen. I traced down my tummy as it growled and gently pressed my sex. Double ouch! I squeezed my legs together and smiled bigger. I grabbed the pillow and squealed into it to muffle my giddy girly self. My arms and legs flailed as I couldn’t contain my laughter. I was so..almost complete? I frowned at the thought as I sat up thinking of how Harrison had only gave us privacy to work out the issue Tom threw in our path. Did he know it just naturally carried out the way it did? Or was he feeling like I picked Tom over him to change me forever? I covered my face remembering how loud Tom and I were. Mostly me..here I was over thinking things again! I touched the right side of our bed and I remembered him coming in not too long after we had finished. He must have been outside the entire time, hearing us, waiting to come to back. I closed my eyes remembering him kissing my skin and calling me angel. I sighed as my mood lifted back up and my smiled returned. I loved when he called me that, it melted my soul to him. I went into the bathroom and turned on the shower. I looked my new body over and blushed again at how much different I felt now and how different I felt in both of their arms. Harrison treasured me and let things just happen naturally. Tom owned me in a protective instinctive way and controlled as much as he could around us. They were who they were..my savagez!
I got dressed and tried my best to cover up the love marks that Tom left on both sides of my neck. The light bruises my hips would fade soon, same as the teeth marks under my left breast. I strolled to the door with my phone snapping pictures of them eating breakfast and laughing. How did I get so lucky? Tom raised his eyes to me first. “Sneaking pictures of us?” he asked as I strolled over to them. Haz smiled gently at me then looking at Tom “At least your awake for these” my mouth fell open as I realized he knew I snuck a picture of him “How?” I asked blushing. He winked at me and laughed at my expression. “Don’t worry angel, I took one of Tommy sleeping for you as well, it’s only fair to me” he said patting the seat next to him. That earned him a look from both of us. Tom snatched my phone from my hands and punched in my code. “How do you know my code, I’ve used it once since I’ve been here?” I asked wide eyed. “Background check confirmed your mums date of birth” Tom said nonchalantly as he shook his head at the pictures and kept going until Haz snatched it back handing it to me. I looked down at a sleeping Tom with me asleep peacefully at his side. I slid it over again expecting to see Haz sleeping next, but instead it was us two sleeping and Haz with a shit eating grin, next a naked me with a naked Tom hovering between my legs as I held his face.
It was moments before Tom made love to me. I ran my finger over it amazed at the memory it held. “Your welcome angel” he said kissing my face and I closed my phone realizing he was looking at it with me. “Mate, she might be grateful but I’m thinking your creepy taking pictures of us from the windows like papzz do famous people” Tom laughed loudly until he seen I was staring into space, overthinking again. “I’m sorry, I seen it as a moment for you, I was trying to help you anyway I could angel” Haz said low as we sat quiet. “It’s actually sweet and I’m grateful Harrison James” I said before I looked at him. “I’m just sorry you stayed away so long, I wanted you just as much” I sighed heavy as my tummy growled breaking the mood. Tom got up to make me a plate as Haz kissed me softly.”Don’t worry, we have plenty of firsts and forever to get to them angel”
We spent the next few days just getting the feel for one another, how to work around each other and with each other. Tom has to sleep closest to the door no matter left or right and he has to face the entrance if we went to the resort to eat, he was always on alert. Haz wasn’t too different in the sense of sleeping or eating, they said it was the way of a soldier. Never turn your back on what you can’t see coming. But Haz was a cuddle bug and Tom preferred to do the embracing. Haz liked hot showers and Tom was like me, cold with a touch of warm. Tom liked sports cars, Haz preferred crotch rockets. We learned our likes and dislikes. Our hobbies, movie preferences, favorite food, colors, passions, places we've been and where we wanted to go. I surprised them both when I told them I taught dance lessons at a shelter for teen runaways and kids in between foster homes. They looked at me like they didn’t believe me.
“What that didn’t show on your background check?” I laughed at Tom who looked the most surprised. “Actually no, but I guess it wouldn’t if you were doing it for free” he said kissing my hand “I’ll make sure you open a new one up at home, perhaps you can open it as a business vs a shelter, it don’t sound safe” he said laying his curly brown head in my lap. Haz did the same but looked up at me smiling with more of an understanding but still making a joke “Yeah and after hours you can dance for me while I make it rain” he said goofy wiggling his eyebrows up and down as I ran my fingers slowly through both of their heads of hair “I’m well rewarded for how I already do things” I sighed thinking of all the kids I’ve met over the years. All the smiles and hugs I earned! “Trust me it’s not easy to get broken kids to smile let a lone dance in a shelter, where no kid should have to be, but so many are. All different ages and backgrounds. It’s never easy with them but I’m persistent because once they do try it and learn some steps, those small moments of happiness can block out the heartache that brought them to the shelter. I always start off with something easy like the cupid shuffle and as I get a line or two going more and more make their way in. That usually ends up into requests to learn a hot new dance out like the “KiKi challenge” to “In my feelings” by Drake. And that turns into something for the kids to look forward to and hope for another day. It also helps me knowing I could help make a difference in their day, same as my mom. If I put up a fancy building noone who I want to help would come, think about it, think about all the lost kids I can help just be kids even if it’s for a few moments in a day, a few days a week” Harrison buried his red face and hid his emotions in my tummy. Tom sat up on his elbow with a look of admiration. “Wow, your amazing y/n, I’ll never be able to tell you enough tiny dancer” he kissed my thigh and layed back down in thought. ”I learned to dance as a teenager, both hip hop and ballet. I’d like to do that again, reminds me of before life changed, when life was fun” I felt my belly do that flip flop thing picturing Tom dancing to the music I do. “What about you Haz?” I asked soft wondering why he hid from me. “You’ll just have to show me, I have two left feet, please just drop it y/n” he laughed yet still covered his face.”I’d love to show you Hazzy, it’s my way of expressing my feelings and make others feel. It’s never been sexual, but it’s helped me with confidence in myself. I learned so much from watching my mother. It’s just who I am, I’m the artist of sorts, it’s my outlet to let go and just be, just be me” I smiled lifting his face to look at me. I wanted to know where his mind was, he looked a little sad and hopeful at the same time. His eyes told a story. I’d find out another day.
There was nothing to debate when it came to where we were headed after this. I was going to live with them on the coast of the Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles or in London where they stayed often, it was agreed without words, where they went, I went. We honestly didn’t have a weird or awkward moment. And for the remainder of our stay we didn’t get sexual. I was thankful because my kitty needed a rest. I think they both picked up on that when I wouldn't even ride a jet ski solo and opted to lay out while they played. The week flew by! Toms brother’s Harry and Sam would be here tomorrow midday with the Yacht Tom called for moments after out faithful collision. I was nervous to meet them but a quick face time chat let me see that all four of them were closer than ever. I wanted to give my savagez something to remember this place by so I went to the other side of the island where there were unique items for sale. I had us t-shirts made that said Savagez. I found a necklace for Harrison that was the shape of an angel wing and engraved on the back it read “For he will command his angels to guard you in all your ways” Toms necklace was harder to find but it was perfect. I found him a Miansai Dove Pendant with St Christopher to protect him and bring him peace when he’s away from me. **(side note, since they actually wear these now we can thank ourselves for the gift) :) **
As I returned to our bungalow I could make out the large sleek black yacht in the distance. I walked to the edge of the railing to get a better look with my bulging eyes “Holy shit!” I yelled to Tom below me as he was talking to two younger men, I assumed his brothers. They were loading our bags into a smaller boat that matched the yacht. “Wow, usually I’d say men make up for what they lack in the bedroom with their big toys but I can’t crack that joke with either of you” I said as Harrison laughed from behind me as I stared at it feeling awestruck. He wrapped his arms around me and I rested my head against him. “It’s beautiful isn’t it y/n?” he said soft as he swayed me in his arms. “Absolutely but it’s a bit much for a boat, why not just rest on that thing verse ever coming here, it’s like your own personal island?” I said giggling at it all. “Well angel, that place right there is more of our home and hub all in one, It’s why we named her “Home”. All four, now five of us will be on that beauty more than we’ll care to be. It has everything you need and more. Our own theater, indoor pool, complete with a waterfall. It even has a helipad to land the chopper on. We each have a side of the yacht to ourselves, believe me you’ll understand once your cooped up long enough with us” I turned in his arms “If you each have a side where will I stay?” I pouted playfully and he held my face “Lets see, Harry has the port side, Sam has the starboard side, Tom has the bow and I have the stern..humm, you’ll just have to make due on that speedboat down there. It has its own personal space inside.” I smacked his hands away as he laughed at my not amused face. “I’ll just stay here then” I teased pushing him gently away “Noway love, I’ll never let you go, your stuck with me forever” his sky blue eyes pierced mine and I felt myself falling more for him “Forever sounds perfect” We snapped a picture of us kissing as Tom walked up with Harry and Sam. They looked like Tom in little ways but not each other. Tom handed my phone to Harry and told him to take our picture. They both looked confused as Tom and Haz kissed each cheek. I looked at Tom in horror as I realized they knew nothing about me and him or Haz and myself or all three of us. “Don't worry guys, we have lots to talk about at dinner tonight!” Tom laughed kissing my hand as he pulled me behind him. They both shrugged their shoulders and begged to stay on land a little longer. Haz winked at me letting me know he meant what he said about not always loving that yacht. We took a few more pictures for memories and walked to the resort for our fill in dinner!
Harry and Sam were easy going and sweet. They weren’t like my savagez. They were apart of the team but behind the scenes as Tom explained.Harry spoke first “ I’m strategic intelligence, I’m the cool one who researches, analyzes and assess any missions Tom and Haz might be assigned or choose to accept. I’m usually the first one to scout the area and get a feel for the situation. I like adventurous dangers” he winked at me “ Thus, earning his nickname Johnny from Hotel Transylvania” Haz threw his bread at him and he caught it in mid air as they cracked up. I felt uneasy as Sam looked at Tom silently questioning him “Sam is operational and tactical intelligence y/n, he focuses on keeping us safe while on a mission and if things got heavy he is the man who gets us reinforcements and out of shity situations. Even if it means dealing with the politics of it all, it’s why he has a pretty face” Tom said with slight annoyance at his brothers silence. Sam leaned forward looking at Tom, Haz and then to me. Haz held my hand under the table and gave it a squeeze. “Your sure about telling all this to a woman you met less than a week ago?” he stared in his eyes as Tom drummed his fingers on the table trying to stay calm. “Have you ever known me to fuck up and make a careless mistake that would cost us our lives and lose more of the only family we have left brother?” Tom said raising his eyebrows and sitting back against the chair hard, waiting to be challenged more. Sam didn’t back down “Not at all Thomas, but you or Haz also never let a woman in your heart have you?” Sam said with all fairness. Tom clenched his jaw sitting back up quickly. SHIT! Harry cut them off “Like I said SAM, I’m the cool one does research and assesses anything that comes in their paths, FIRST. Y/N has something in common with all of us, don’t forget that brother.” Harry looked at me as he spoke again “I’m sorry that your lost your only parent and have spent so many years alone, we have been blessed with each other, sometimes trusting an outsider isn’t easy but Sam is just cautious, as taught by Tom, forgive him darling and lets start this over, please” he said looking at both Sam and Tom. Haz rubbed the small of my back as I took a deep breath trying to grip my emotions. “Nothing to forgive” I said a little shaky at first. “If you both look after them even when it comes to a nobody like me, then I’ll forever be in debt to you both”
Sam was quick to speak up “Y/N, your not a nobody love, you can bet your ass that your well above a special somebody to get into Tom’s stone heart” he then pointed at Harrison “This man might seem easy going but he breaks just as easy, he keeps himself guarded with humor for a reason” he looked me in the eyes and I noticed they were hazel, unlike his brothers “I mean this to come out in the best way possible” he sighed “Since they both have let you in AND agreed to share you, your already more than deserving to be called family, please say you forgive me y/n” he said looking remorseful at me. “I forgive you Sam” I smiled at him the best I could with the tears of emotions starting to flow. “Now look what you did, you made us party poopers” Harry said loud punching Sams arm. Next thing we knew in burst a loud man to our private dining area announcing himself loudly.
“Did someone say party?” he sang out as he danced his happy self to our table. My eyes were wide as all four of them cracked up calling him Jacob. Tom got up as Haz wrapped his arms around the bigger man. He pulled Tom into there embrace and widen his eyes at me over his sunglasses. “Is this y/n who is stealing the hearts of the men I love so very much?” he bellowed out as if it was an accusation not a question. I stood still unsure of who he was and how he fit into all this. No One mentioned anyone outside of the four of them. I supposed they did have friends in this business. Tom came back to my side and sensed my nervousness. “Late as always Jacob but not when it counts!” he winked at me as Jacob stole Hazs seat. “I trust you brought back my helicopter back in one piece?” Tom asked laughing at Haz trying to move the man more than double his size out of his chair. Jacob ignored all the commotion around him and eyed me up and down. “Good lawd woman you are a sight to behold! If I had known your fine self was here on this island for the taking, I’d of never ever dropped these two vanilla wafers off. Look at you y/n! Those sexy curves and thighs that would make Thor the god of thunder himself jealous, ooooh, no wonder it takes two of them to steal your heart love. Hips like honey, thick and sweet. Tell me darling, are they treating you right? If not, say the word and I’ll drop em outta the sky for you!” he smiled so huge that I busted out in laughter and hugged him outta instinct. “Careful now, once you go big you won’t want these twigs!” he said hugging me back. Tom pulled me away onto his lap as soon as he let go and Haz took my seat punching Jacobs leg hard. We finished our dinner in laughter and with a buzz we walked towards the yacht called “Home”
I did a quick sweep of the empty bungalow and looked out at the beautiful view as sun began to sink low. I snapped a quick picture and then turned for a selfie. When I lowered my hand Tom and Haz were in the doorway waiting on me. They took one last selfie with me and I think we all felt how much this place had changed us, forever. I gave them their gifts instead of waiting, it just felt right. To my surprise they had gifts of their own for me. I can’t begin to tell of all the things that were made that read King and Queen. Two Kings, one Queen for every Hat, robe, towel, shirt, hoodie, sweatpants, cup and more, they had them made together and that made my heart fuller. Haz gifted me a watch with Angel written inside it, made of real diamonds I was sure of that and it had tiny feathers carved along the wristband. He slipped it on and kissed my wrist “In case it isn’t obvious yet, your my angel y/n. You saved me from myself and the pain I’ve lived in everyday, my heart is light as a feather since meeting you and it can only mean your my angel” he said kissing me on the lips softly. Tom cleared his throat and I gave him my attention as he gifted me a bracelet made of diamonds shaped with hearts and stars with a star that dangled from it. I looked at him and before I could ask he grinned at me, scooping me up spinning us around “I wanted an M for mine mine MINE” he growled setting me down. “But I settled for the star, because you are my star y/n, you brought light to the darkest place I’ve been in for so long now and so this was perfect” Tom said kissing my lips and hugging me hard. Haz squeezed me from behind and all three of us stood in peace, embracing each other.
“Come on love birds!” Jacob said from the open window with his chin resting on his hands. He was batting his eyelashes dramatically making us laugh “If you want just stay here, lil homie will be out of gas if we keep waiting on you any longer” he smiled big at me “I named the speed boat lil homie, because ya know, it’s from the yacht home” he said cracking himself up. He started to walk away and yelled back “besides it’s not like you didn’t buy this place already right, tell it see you later not goodbye?”
“JACOB!” Tom and Haz yelled together “We haven’t told y/n yet!” Haz said covering my ears if I haven't already heard! “Huh, your such as ass!” Tom yelled as he darted out after him. “Surprise!” smiled Harrison as I stood shocked and wide eyed with a huge smile. I was speechless as he pulled my hand behind him and led us down to the sand where they all waited. Tom held out his hand helping me up and hugging me tight “Sorry love, we were going to tell you, but in a different way” he smiled against my neck. “It’s okay, I’ll pretend to be surprised when you guys tell me, just put the receipt in a box, I bet I’ll be shocked!” I laughed. Jacob put the boat in gear and Tom poured us all a glass of champagne. Harrison slid me into his embrace and we watched as our newly purchased bungalow faded away. The sun setting made the sky a beautiful orange and yellow mixed with red. But my eyes were locked on Harrisons sky blue eyes. In that moment he was all I wanted. I reached for him and Haz leaned into my face and kissed my lips softly. Tom cleared his throat as my lips parted to welcome his warm tongue that danced with mine, I moaned into his mouth as he kissed me deep and slow. He tasted like bubbly and mint. I needed more! I got lost in his Hazziness yet again as he ran a finger down my neck and over my hardening nipples. He broke our kiss and nipped my ear and slowly bit his way down my skin. His throat making noises under my growing heart rate. FUCK! I bit my lip as Tom squeezed my inner thigh and Haz kissed my hand resting it on his bulge. I squeezed him wanting to bring him back. It took a glance at Tom talking to his brothers to remind me we weren’t alone on that boat, my buzz off Haz made me forget. Harrison smiled at me as I downed my glass and helped myself to a refill. Soon enough we would be.
I started to overthink things in the way I do, as we docked the boat inside. The other three hopped out and started to carry our stuff inside the yacht. The area was lit enough where I’m sure my face was readable as Jacob yelled from the door “Hey Y/N where’s your stuff going?” I exhaled loudly as Tom and Haz looked at me in screaming silence “That's the million dollar question” I mumbled to myself shaking my head. “Let’s flip a coin, love” Tom said easing my growing anxiety. Heads it’s Hazes room or tails it’s mine” he winked. I smiled at him stopping his hand from digging in his pocket “I knew you were an ass man before you picked tails” I laughed kissing his hand still in mine. Haz got off the boat quietly in defeat and went inside quickly as Tom pulled me into his arms. “Tommy, I just meant that I didn’t need a coin to make my choice. I need to spend time with Harrison” I choked out moving my face away from his. I couldn’t take his eyes if they were going to make me feel guilty. I couldn’t help how my heart felt. “You don’t think I already knew princess?” he brought my eyes to his and he was being sincere. “I wouldn’t of stopped you back there if we were alone” he smiled “Haz needs you just as much I can tell, just don’t stay away for too long or I’ll go crazy. We have time, it’s a long way to the states from here” he kissed my head sweetly and led me inside. My stuff was left by the door so Tom picked it up with me and showed me the way to Harrisons side of the three story yacht. The inside was breathtaking as we made our way to the glass elevator and ascended to the top. I tried to take it all in. The main floor was open with a peek at what was a kitchen, a large entry way that read cinema told me where I could watch anything I wanted, I could see light coming in from the setting sun and as I looked up I could see the roof was glass. Tom carried all my bags outside Hazes door and I stood by the elevator chewing my lip as Tom got back inside it. “I’ll see you soon darling” he smiled winking at me as the glass closed. I looked back at Hazes door and took a deep breath walking towards it. I knocked gently without an answer. So I knocked harder.
Part 7 is underway and will be out Saturday/Sunday 08/04 08/05. Thank you for taking this ride with me! I got a lot of love from part 5 and that lets me know your dirty minded like me lol. Thank you to my tags who helped me put out part 6 so Harrison could have 7. Being with both of them yet separate is hard, someone tell Tom to get aboard! :) Hugz darlings! Happy reading

Chapter IV.
Thousands of thoughts rushed through my mind at that moment, but I couldn’t manage to process a single one of them. Mindlessly, I stumbled out of bed and threw my still half-asleep body against the wooden door, trying to see anything in the pale moonlight. The cold immediately surrounded my whole body, trying to keep some of my warmth inside by crossing my arms, cowering, when I heard a sound. A muffled grunt. A splash of water. It was only now that I realised, I had left my sword in the cabin. Carefully, I peeked around the corner and there I saw…you. Bowing over a barrel of rain water, washing your arms. You seemed to be in pain, but even in the middle of the night I could see your shortsword…covered in blood. Dawning to me what must have happened, I quietly turned around, moving back into the warmth of the cabin, and just stood there.
Sometime later I must have lied down again. At least there I found myself, in bed, facing the wall, my eyes wide open, when I heard a quiet creak of the door. Amazingly light-footed, you moved across the room, trying not to wake me up, stopping for a moment before carefully moving onto the bed next to me. Probably neither of us closed our eyes for longer than an hour, as the longest night of my life seemingly wouldn’t pass.
At last, the first rays of sunlight started to fill the cottage with bright orange light, allowing me to get up. As I went on to search our supplies for some breakfast, you were still not moving, though pretending to or truly sleeping I could not tell. Only now noticing the cold – the fire seemed to have faded during the night – I put on a thick, white woollen coat and walked outside onto the frosty grass. Utterly tired and constantly feeling the pain from the wound on my shoulder that the bandit left me with sting through my whole body, I wearily moved around the corner to the barrel of water. Only after having washed my hands and face, it came back to me. As I stared into my own reflection, I saw yours. Bloodied. Furious.
The whole trip we did not exchange a single word. I was sure you knew that I knew, but it wasn’t like you to confront problems head on. You were even physically keeping your distance, staring either into the horizon or onto the muddy road. I was just as willing to avoid it as you were, though, and followed your lead. I felt ashamed for not having the courage to say something. I looked at you, still walking, wondering what to say if I could, when you suddenly stopped abruptly. Letting my gaze wander from you to what you were looking at, I noticed a faint cloud of smoke fading into the air. It was distant but it had to derive from something big. Coming to your senses sooner than I did, you rushed away from the road into the woods, hurrying on until we had reached the top of a small hill, to have a clear sight at Darry, at our home. Our burning home. A big cluster of black and grey smoke surrounded the area where our house used to stand, the fire clearly still burning wildly. Then we heard shouts. First one from a female, then shortly after a loud man’s roar. As I was still gazing in shock, you hurried forward, closely followed by me.
We both started to cower the moment we left the forest and entered the plain fields, running to the first stone house that laid open in the fields. Using the walls as cover, we were still about fifty metres away from the village’s palisades but we could already see the fire spreading from our house to the medic’s, up on the hill. Being more acrobatic than me, you swiftly climbed onto the steep roof to get a better look. There were dozens of armed men, holding any villager back from coming too close to the house. I heard a man shouting in agony. You saw the medic’s wife trying to run towards the screams coming from the burning house, screaming and crying herself but being held back by an abnormally large soldier, his armour shimmering in bright blue against the sun.

What is Mondioring dog sport

If you think some dogs are only good for fetching, eating, sleeping, and repeating; you might want to think again. Just like humans, dogs have an organized sport called “Mondioring” or “Mondio Ring”. Mondioring is an obedience competition where the team (the Mondioring dog and the Mondioring Handler) has to conquer. Mondioring is a precision dog sport that one has to watch for himself to really appreciate its discipline.

It is a protection sport that tests the ability of the dog to protect both themselves and their handlers, even through extreme distractions. The successful competition requires extensive training and discipline.
Brief History
Mondio Ring translates into "World Ring".Mondioring is an F.C.I. authorized international dog sport developed in the late 80's by representatives from every major country that has a competition dog sport. It is a combination of the French Ring Sport, the Belgian Ring Sport, Dutch KNPV, and German Schutzhund. The intent behind the formation of the sport was to provide an international competition that combined the best of each country's existing traditions. Titles awarded in Mondio Ring are internationally recognized.

What is Mondioring Dog sport actually mean
sport includes a series of exercises that the dog and his or her handler must execute together in order to score well. Mondioring assesses a dog’s obedience, athleticism, agility, and ability to protect in a mock scenario—not to mention it tests the owner’s patience and dedication to training. A Mondioring dog competes at each level without collar or leash throughout the trial, thus testing the control of the animal. Sports demands of extreme control combine to require that the dog be clear-headed with excellent character.

Mondioring has a unique theme. Each trial (competition) is based on a theme – much like a theatre set up on a field. Props, scenarios, distractions are placed at strategic points on the trial field. While the exercises remain the same from trial to trial, the order and the setup will change with each judge’s own creativity. No two trials are ever alike, thus preventing the possibility of preparing the dog ‘by rote.’This really teaches the dogs to deeply understand each exercise on a conceptual level. The three categories Dogs must go through to win Mondioring Title Obedience tests require the dog to heel for one minute; hold sitting, standing, and down positions, food refusal then retrieval of the judge’s chosen object. Erring is sometimes inevitable, and the more commonly seen fault in this category is the double command. The handler is supposed to signal only once. Any more than that is a deduction. The dog’s willingness and dexterity are put to the test through a series of jumps in the Agility course. There are three types of jumps: palisade, hurdle, and long jump.Protection tests: The dog’s ability to distinguish when and where it needs to attack then defend itself or the handler. A trained mondioring decoy takes charge and assesses the dog. The decoy will try to distract and take away points the whole time the dog is biting. A common fault during this test is the recalling, or when the dog ignores the handler’s signal to stop biting. Deductions are made for every second that passes.
Five important Elements of Mondioring Dog Sport
1 . Mondio Ring Mondioring, though it was intended as an avenue through which working dog enthusiasts could have fun, it is a sport that tests precision, coordination and clear communication between the handler and canine participant. It demands a lot from the dog and handler tandem as well as the trial decoy whose job is to thwart the attempts of the dog to engage him in combat. 2 . Mondioring Handler A mondioring handler has to have a passion for 3 things – his dog, dog-training, and competition. The prospective mondioring handler should first of all have a pre-selected and pre-tested dog with good working potentials. He has to have the resources to provide for his dog’s nutritional and veterinary needs. Working dogs need to be maintained for them to do the job properly and that requires time and money. Yearly vaccinations are a must for all dog sports. Handler's insight - First is to instill discipline in yourself and dog. Sometimes there are days where you don’t feel like training, but you must keep in mind that it’s a necessity. Then there is patience; there are dogs that are slow learners. Finally, you need to have a passion for both the dog and the sport. One can’t be without the other.

3 . The Certified Mondioring Judge In order to be a certified mondioring judge you have to be CREDIBLE and hence, you MUST be or have been a mondioring handler/competitor and MUST have titled your dogs to a given level (depending on the rules of the governing mondioring body for a given country). 4 . The Mondioring Decoy Much effort has been put into the Mondioring rule book to guide decoys from different dog sports into developing a uniform decoy system. The Mondioring system allows the decoy to use a wide array of stressors to assist the judge in evaluating the dog’s working ability. The simplicity of the trial rules allows the decoy to remain true to the core values of dog sport, to test the inborn character of the dog, and the quality of the dog’s education. However, the Mondioring program goes a step further by aiding the judge and decoy in evaluating the dog’s over-all adaptability in changing circumstances. 5 . The Mondioring Dog The dog is the featured character in mondioring. It is preferred that the potential canine candidate display a tenacity to work even under stress (from handler correction, environmental distractions, and decoy pressure), a “happily-hyper” character, clear-headedness and closeness to the handler.
Mondioring Dog Sport Exercises
When competing in Mondio Ring, the dog has no collar or leash on at any time except during the heel on leash. No food rewards or physical corrections are allowed at any time while competing. Points for an exercise will be lost for multiple commands, incorrect commands, or failure of the dog or handler to perform the exercise correctly. There is a 1-second leeway on the outs before the dog is penalized for being slow to out. Control is emphasized from the moment the dog/handler team walks onto the field until they leave at the end. The exercises dog has to go through in Mondioring Dog sport are 1.Heel off leash in a pattern determined by the judge with multiple stops and starts, left and right turns The handler also might be required to pick things up, carry things, go through various obstacles, etc. 2.Long Sit/Down done with the handler out of sight, the dog stays in a pre-drawn position 1 min during distractions. These distractions could be decoys arguing, throwing a ball, running circles, loud noises, etc. The distractions must be at least 5m away.

3.Food Refusal the dog is thrown 2 pieces of food (usually meat or cheese). The dog must not eat the food, and if it is “accidentally” thrown into dogs mouth, he must immediately spit it out. The field is also baited with 6 pieces of food, in strategic locations (i.e. by blinds, jumps, area dog runs over during send away, etc.) The throwing of the food can be done in various ways, such as of a plate the thrower pretends to be eating from or in another manner that might fool the dog into thinking this isn’t a food refusal. 4.High Jump the dog jumps a hurdle on command, then does a return jump on command and comes to a heel position by the handler 5.Palisade the dog jumps and climbs over a wooden wall which has a sloped backside, so there is no jump straight down to the ground. 6.Long Jump the dog jumps a PVC/metal “key” long jump on the ground 7.Positions the dog is told to sit, stand and down in a pre-drawn order. the handler is 15m away. points are lost for creeping forward during the positions, or failure to perform a position The main requirement here is that the handler has a direct line of sight to the dog, however, the dog might be on uneven ground, next to strange objects, etc. 8.Thrown Retrieves the handler throws the item at least 5m, on command the dog retrieves the item and presents it to the handler. the retrieved object can be almost anything not metal or glass, or dangerous to the dog with a max weight of 1kg. 9.Scent Discrimination At the beginning of the competition, the handler is given a small dowel, 10x2x2cm. During this exercise, they place it on the ground 30m from the dog. After placement 4 other dowels are placed in the same area, then the handler sends the dog to find the correct dowel and retrieve it. 10.Send Away the dog is told to run in a straight line away from the handler until called, then it returns to the handler, distance is 40m 11.Face Attack the dog is told to attack a decoy who is facing him about 50m away behaving in a menacing fashion using a stick, without/recall. There are also obstacles between the dog and decoy that the dog must go over or through (not around). 12.Face Attack with accessories the dog is told to attack a decoy who is facing him about 50m away behaving in a menacing fashion using various items. These could be a hula hoop, caution tape, cones, anything that might impress the dog but wouldn’t hurt them. There are also obstacles between the dog and decoy that the dog must go over or through (not around). 13.Fleeing Attack the dog is told to attack a decoy who is running away, without/recall after the bite/fight. The decoy fires a gun when they bite. 14.Defense of Handler There are two decoys during this that mill around the field, argue with people, jump up and down, etc. Pretty much anything they can think of to cause the dog to bite too early, or bite the wrong decoy. The handler might also be told to do various things such as walk to a certain point and pick an item up then carry it somewhere else and put it down or lay down on a stretcher that the decoys are carrying. At some point one decoy will come up and shake hands with the handler, this is the decoy who will ultimately attack the handler. They leave after shaking hands and the decoys can continue to mill around or one might go hide. Eventually, the decoy will come back and attack the handler, usually while the other decoy is trying to keep the dog's attention or even lure them away from the handler. The dog must bite the attacking decoy and fight them until commanded to out, then after a brief guarding period recall to the handler. 15.Search, Hold and Bark with Escort The dog finds the decoy who is hidden somewhere on the field, not necessarily in a blind, and barks to indicate the decoy has been found. The handler approaches and commands the decoy to come out of the blind. After exiting the blind the decoy is escorted around the field by the dog, with multiple attempts made to escape. 16.Stopped Attack This is done exactly like the fleeing attack, however, when the dog is about 1/2 way down the field a flag will be held up. Depending on the color of the flag (red or green) this will be the stopped attack or not, and the handler must recall the dog before it bites. More points are earned the closer the dog is to the decoy when it is recalled. 17.Guard of Object the dog is told to guard an object, and the handler goes to a place out of sight. The handler does not participate in any way again until it is time to retrieve his dog. The decoys try three times to steal the object, and the dog stops the decoy each time by biting. As soon as the decoy begins to move away from the object, the dog lets go to remain close to the object he is guarding. During one of these attempts, the decoy can carry an object to confuse the dog as to which object it is guarding, or attempt to prevent the dog from biting. Points are lost for biting to soon, allowing the decoy to move or completely steal the object, guarding the wrong object (allowing the other one to be stolen), being drug away from the object, etc. If you think your dog can do Mondioring Dog Sport Mondioring has grown steadily in the United States since the first trial in 2000. There are several full member clubs and a variety of other clubs forming around the country. Trials are held regularly and provide an opportunity to earn titles in this fascinating sport. Mondioring titles are recognized internationally. Each year the organization in America, the USMRA, sends a team to compete in the International Championship of Mondioring in a different country in Europe. An interesting note is that international competition is quite "do-able", as we are still a relatively small organization in a new sport. Read the full article

Sign of the Times | Self-Para
When: April 9th, 2017
Where: Tigger’s Flat, Palisades Park, Maldette Manor’s sound booth
Notes: After spending a creative hiatus by himself, Tigger seeks help for his big project and gets cheered on from the sidelines.
Warnings: Hella feels.
Just stop your crying, It’s the sign of the times.
It was early morning when Tigger sat at the piano, his sister had gone to work. The inspiration had finally struck him after months of what he called a creative death. It had happened right when PB had passed, where writing a song became a chore, where sitting at the piano made him lethargic, but today...was different. It was as if something--or someone told him to try again. He played around with the keys for a moment, playing old tunes and everything in between until he heard a melody in his head. He wasn’t sure where it came from or how it came about, but he played the melody out loud and it was as if he had started breathing again.
We gotta get away from here, We gotta get away from here.
The lyrics came in bits and pieces to the boy, the first chunk happened in the middle of his history exam. It was the worst timing but he could just hear the melody and the lyrics flow so well together. It was a distraction that he couldn’t get out of his head. He could feel the itch in his hand as he ached to write the lyrics out word for word. He ended up rushing through the test in order to write it down in his notebook afterward, though--he knew he’d have to kiss that A goodbye and say hello to a B...Bs get degrees, right?
Just stop your crying, It'll be alright.
The second instance happened during music class. He wrote the lyrics done in a casual manner, attempting to look like that he was taking notes, when in reality, he just couldn’t get the bridge and the chorus out of his head. He had found himself softly singing the song to himself as he walked home. Passersby looked over at him with smiling, intrigued faces. He had been approached by a neighbor who told him that they missed hearing his melodic voice from the windows. He smiled in return and nodded in agreement.
They told me that the end is near. We gotta get away from here...
It was 2am when he finished the last part of the song, his eyes welling up with tears. Tigger was sitting in Palisades Park by himself, with the exception of the occasional person walking their dog or homeless person. He sighed to himself and looked up at the stars twinkling above, a smile on his face. He finally found his muse again and he wondered, if PB had come to him from the great beyond and lent him a hand by finding this inspiration. His green eyes went back to his orange notebook filled with words and a melody and he knew he could call one person to help him.
Stop your crying, baby. It's a sign of the times. We gotta get away.
Naveen was unsurprisingly awake at 3am as he, too, had finished a song that had inspired him out of the blue and Tigger was incredibly grateful that his fellow British pal lent him his studio as the school’s wouldn’t open for another 3 hours. Both boys spent the next 5 hours playing the instrumentals of the song, sleep didn’t seem to come to them so easily. Finally, Naveen encouraged the curly-haired boy to take a go at singing in the studio. Something Tiggs hadn’t done in so long. He stumbled in nervously, taking a breath as the instrumental began. Nav encouraged the boy with a thumbs up.
We got to get away...
The experience of the first few minutes was emotional. His eyes were closed as he sang through the first falsetto, his voice grew stronger and louder at the chorus, before he slowed it back down. He could just feel the song running through his veins, he could breathe the song into his lungs and it all just felt--right. At the bridge, he was practically rocking back and forth on his heels as he could just feel every beat, every note, every vibration in the floor. But, what he and Naveen didn’t expect were the high notes he’d belt out, that followed the bridge and part of the chorus.
Somehow, Tigger felt a presence with him, a familiar reassuring warm reassuring hand. He knew very well that Nav was on the other side of the glass and just the thought of knowing PB was there, even for a moment, brought tears to the Cheshire lad.
"We got to—we got to—away! We got to—we got to—away! We got to—we got to—awaaaay...” Tigger belted out with such force, tears began to spill down his cheeks and he continued to power through until the final “away” and held the note until his voice cracked.
“That’s what I’m talkin’ about!” Johnny exclaimed excitedly. “WOO!” Tiggs had been so lost in the music that he didn’t get to hear the encouragement from beyond. The other boy standing across the glass was in tears, wiping his eyes before Tigger opened his eyes and sobbed out. “I-I did it...”
Nav nodded with a watery smile as he spoke into the mic, “You fuckin’ nailed it, mate.” Tigger re-docked the headphones and walked out, holding out his fist for Nav to bump, but both boys were so overwhelmed that they laughed and hugged each other tightly. “I’m proud of you, Tiggs. PB, he’d be proud of us.”
Tigger nodded, “I think he is, too.”

The trio were still inside the cargo wagon in the next morning each of them lying on the top of a hay cube. Jin who lied with his back against the room turned his back down and felt down on the ground waking up with the fall.
“Ouch,” Jin wailed, then sat up on the ground looking out of the open gap to see a green landscape with pine trees as the train was passing by. Jin leaned his back against the hay cub he had fallen off before and crossed his arms behind his head sighing. Jin glanced at Yi, which lied on the hay cube on the other side diagonally to him and across from the open space. Jin noticed the girl had been sleeping with her head over her arms, making him smile ardently and he got up on the top of his hay cube again now lying on his belly, then lied his cheek on the hay with his eyes directed at the open gap, where he could recognize that their train was slowly curving, soon he could see the sun far on the horizon being mirrored on the lake that appeared on the landscape. Jin was amazed by the sight he had at the moment, then he gazed up at Yi, which was asleep, then he reached his arm to her feet, but before he touched it he warped his face unsure if he should wake her up or not. Jin took his arm back and dropped it beside the cube looking down at the floor.
“Why am I hesitating?” Jin questioned himself, then looked back at the girl again, then he sat up looking at Kai, which was resting. “You’re acting like a real doofus Jin” Jin told himself, then noticed Kai lifting his head up looking up at the raven-haired boy. “Sorry boy, I didn’t mean to wake you up” Kai gazed at the boy normally, then Jin moved closer on his cube to the dog. “Do you think I stand a chance with her?” Jin questioned the dog, which moved his ear forward at him, making Jin raise his left eyebrow unsure what that meant. “Yeah it’s weird, I don’t have anyone here to talk about this topic, beside you,” Jin told the dog, which put his tongue out for panting, then Jin held his hand in front of the dog for him to pick up Jin’s scent, then the dog approached the boy and lied his head down on his lap, rolling his eyes up at the boy.
“Nice boy” Jin complimented patting the canine on the head. “Maybe….I should give it a try in telling her how I feel. What do you think, boy?” Jin asked watching Kai lick his nose and raise his head up at Jin. “Well many things can go wrong on this trip…..I mean, I’m not frightened of spending the rest of the trip with Yi together and having the pain from her having reject me, if that would be the case….honestly that would be terrifying.” Jin mentioned with a shocked face at the thought of it, while Kai widened his eyes while holding his ears pointed. “Yeah, you’re right. Maybe I should wait a little longer?”
“Wouff” The dog barked loud.
“What? Bad idea?” Jin asked observing Kai look behind the boy, then Jin looked back to see the hay cube of Yi suddenly near the open door of the wagon setting the boy in panic. “Yi!” Jin screamed in terror, causing the girl to wake up and cry as she noticed, where she was and she could see their train was passing over a bridge, which was far away from a lake, where the bridge stood.
“Get away from there!” Jin yelled racing at the girl, which got down from the cube which from her jump slide out off the wagon falling down into the lake. Yi’s sock got stuck on a metal bar, that was attached to the body of the vehicle, then Yi tried to pull her leg up, but she couldn’t.
Jin grabbed Yi on the sides of her belly to help her up, but he also noticed Yi’s long sock was attached to the bar.
“My sock is stuck, I can’t get up” Yi warned, then Jin placed his hands down on her leg and tried to remove it from the bar.
“Why you’re wearing socks in the summer?”
“My feet are always cold” Yi mentioned watching Jin trying his best to help her out.
“Gosh, now there’s a thread attached to the bar” The boy complained, then Yi looked back at Jin to see how he was doing then she wide her eyes in shock. “Oh no”
“What?” Jin asked looking up at the girl.
“We’re going to collide with the bridge’s palisade!” Yi blurted out anxiously, then Jin looked at the side to see how close they were getting to the palisade, then Jin leaned his head down and bite the thread off managing to free Yi, then Yi looked to the danger zone along with Jin and the raven-haired boy pulled Yi on her arm to fall down at the lake along with him.
“Ahhhhhhh!” Yelled the two teens during the fall into the lake.
“Keeeeeeeeepp youuurrrr feeeeet dowwwwwnn!” Jin cried trying to stabilize himself in the air, so did Yi try which quickly got in the correct landing technique afterward both teens splashed into the water and Yi stuck her head out coughing hard.
“We did it Jin! We’re survived!” Yi cheered looking around her looking for her friend, which didn’t appear at the surface. “Jin? Jin?!?” Yi called for the boy, which she couldn’t spot anywhere, afterward, she stuck her head in the water to see Jin falling into the deep and Yi plunged into the deep following the boy, that sank toward the pole of the bridge and before he crashed against it Yi picked the boy under his arms, then bounced with her feet on the metal shoving herself away from there while carrying the friend with her.
Yi reached the shallow of the water, then she placed her arms around Jin, then Yi used her legs only to swim forward while carrying the friend.
“Hold on Jin, we’re almost on land” Yi assured a little worried swimming straight to the land, where she recognized a person sitting with a fishing rod at the edge of the lake. Yi saw the person and cried out loud to call the person’s attention.
“Help!” Yi exclaimed earning the attention of an elderly woman, that looked at the lake wondering from where the sound came from and saw Yi approaching. The woman dropped the rod and got up from the ground and observed Yi arriving with Jin, then the woman got into the water and helped Yi push Jin on the ground, then Yi gazed at Jin in shock from seeing him unconscious. Yi moved Jin’s head aside, then looked all over his body trying to figure out, what’s the next step.
“CPR! I need to do CPR!” Yi mentioned placing her hands together over Jin’s chest, then looked up at his face, which didn’t move a muscle yet and Yi gulped frightened about the situation.
“You have to thrust hard my girl”
“And…...what about mouth to mouth breathing?” Yi asked looking at the senior, which moved Jin’s head up a little then she opened the boy’s mouth and she leaned down at his face, then stopped and retrieved her head back.
“Wait a second,” The woman said placing her middle finger and her thumb into her mouth to remove her denture making Yi wide her eyes in surprise.
“Uh…..”
“Keep this somewhere my darling” The senior babbled and started breathing into the boy’s mouth, making Yi warp her face at how estranged she felt at seeing that. “Press on his chest” The woman ordered and Yi placed her hands over her friend’s chest and thrusts firmly on the body while counting under her breath. The woman observed Yi working on the chest compressions, then after a short break she did again the mouth to mouth breathing Jin starts to breathe and cough while the two rescuers watched the boy sat up while coughing hard.
“Argh damn it….” Jin complained holding his hand in front of his chest nearly ending in tears from the coughing, then he looked at a relieved senior and an overly happy Yi, which embraced the boy tight.
“Thank god you’re alright Jin” Admitted the girl lying her hand under his chin, while Jin looked with wide eyes in surprise at Yi’s reaction.
“Did you save my life?” Jin questioned the girl, which nodded.
“I was terrified as I saw you didn’t appear on the surface, but I’m so happy that nothing more happened to you” Yi confessed making Jin smile, then he looked down at his pants, where there was a denture standing.
“Uhm why is there a denture on my pants?” Jin asked, then the woman picked the denture up and placed it back into her mouth again.
“I couldn’t perform a mouth to mouth breathing with those in it,” The senior mentioned followed by a chuckle, making Jin wrap his face in disgust at the imagination of the woman performing CPR on him.
“Did she?” Jin asked his girl friend, which grinned at her friend in an apologetic manner and Jin twisted his face as he was about to cry, then he sank his head into the lake again, which confused the woman as she saw Jin doing that.
“What is he trying to do?” The woman asked looking at Yi, which shrugged her shoulders although she knew exactly why Jin was doing that. Yi pushed Jin by his collar away from the water, making him sit down on the ground still shocked about before.
“Just forget about what happened, just focus on your well-being now,” Yi noticed tapping on his wet shirt.
“I still need to get a check-up at the hospital”
“You’re crazy” “No, I’m serious. The first two 48 hours are critical after a drowning incident. I could get pneumonia, an infection or even a heart failure”
“Okay since you’re in the medical school and know about that we can pass by the next clinic, we find on the way” Yi promised the Chinese boy.
“Thanks,” Jin told the girl, then got up while helping her up gently.
“You two arrived at a good time here. I’ve caught fish to make my home-made fish noodle soup,” The senior mentioned holding up a Tupperware, where she had put fish in it.
“We sort of didn’t even have breakfast” Jin mentioned looking at Yi.
“I can make you two pancakes, if you want,” The elderly woman offered looking at the two teens. “You can dry your clothes at the fireplace a little”
“Too bad I left the suitcase in the train” Jin mentioned earning a nod from Yi, which then widened her eyes as she realized someone was missing.
“By the way, where’s Kai?” Yi asked and looked up at the bridge along with Jin.
“Maybe he stood back in the train” Jin mentioned seeing Yi sank her head down in sadness, then Jin placed his arm behind the girl. “We will get him back, don’t worry” Jin assured and looked at the senior while keeping caressing his crush’s back.
“Come on you two, I’m going to show you, where I live,” The senior asked walking further followed by the two teens.

OWING to the cant of the vessel, the masts hung far out over the water, and from my perch on the cross-trees I had nothing below me but the surface of the bay. Hands, who was not so far up, was in consequence nearer to the ship and fell between me and the bulwarks. He rose once to the surface in a lather of foam and blood and then sank again for good. As the water settled, I could see him lying huddled together on the clean, bright sand in the shadow of the vessel's sides. A fish or two whipped past his body. Sometimes, by the quivering of the water, he appeared to move a little, as if he were trying to rise. But he was dead enough, for all that, being both shot and drowned, and was food for fish in the very place where he had designed my slaughter. I was no sooner certain of this than I began to feel sick, faint, and terrified. The hot blood was running over my back and chest. The dirk, where it had pinned my shoulder to the mast, seemed to burn like a hot iron; yet it was not so much these real sufferings that distressed me, for these, it seemed to me, I could bear without a murmur; it was the horror I had upon my mind of falling from the cross-trees into that still green water, beside the body of the coxswain. I clung with both hands till my nails ached, and I shut my eyes as if to cover up the peril. Gradually my mind came back again, my pulses quieted down to a more natural time, and I was once more in possession of myself. It was my first thought to pluck forth the dirk, but either it stuck too hard or my nerve failed me, and I desisted with a violent shudder. Oddly enough, that very shudder did the business. The knife, in fact, had come the nearest in the world to missing me altogether; it held me by a mere pinch of skin, and this the shudder tore away. The blood ran down the faster, to be sure, but I was my own master again and only tacked to the mast by my coat and shirt. These last I broke through with a sudden jerk, and then regained the deck by the starboard shrouds. For nothing in the world would I have again ventured, shaken as I was, upon the overhanging port shrouds from which Israel had so lately fallen. I went below and did what I could for my wound; it pained me a good deal and still bled freely, but it was neither deep nor dangerous, nor did it greatly gall me when I used my arm. Then I looked around me, and as the ship was now, in a sense, my own, I began to think of clearing it from its last passenger - the dead man, O'Brien. He had pitched, as I have said, against the bulwarks, where he lay like some horrible, ungainly sort of puppet, life-size, indeed, but how different from life's colour or life's comeliness! In that position I could easily have my way with him, and as the habit of tragical adventures had worn off almost all my terror for the dead, I took him by the waist as if he had been a sack of bran and with one good heave, tumbled him overboard. He went in with a sounding plunge; the red cap came off and remained floating on the surface; and as soon as the splash subsided, I could see him and Israel lying side by side, both wavering with the tremulous movement of the water. O'Brien, though still quite a young man, was very bald. There he lay, with that bald head across the knees of the man who had killed him and the quick fishes steering to and fro over both. I was now alone upon the ship; the tide had just turned. The sun was within so few degrees of setting that already the shadow of the pines upon the western shore began to reach right across the anchorage and fall in patterns on the deck. The evening breeze had sprung up, and though it was well warded off by the hill with the two peaks upon the east, the cordage had begun to sing a little softly to itself and the idle sails to rattle to and fro. I began to see a danger to the ship. The jibs I speedily doused and brought tumbling to the deck, but the main-sail was a harder matter. Of course, when the schooner canted over, the boom had swung out-board, and the cap of it and a foot or two of sail hung even under water. I thought this made it still more dangerous; yet the strain was so heavy that I half feared to meddle. At last I got my knife and cut the halyards. The peak dropped instantly, a great belly of loose canvas floated broad upon the water, and since, pull as I liked, I could not budge the downhall, that was the extent of what I could accomplish. For the rest, the HISPANIOLA must trust to luck, like myself. By this time the whole anchorage had fallen into shadow - the last rays, I remember, falling through a glade of the wood and shining bright as jewels on the flowery mantle of the wreck. It began to be chill; the tide was rapidly fleeting seaward, the schooner settling more and more on her beam-ends. I scrambled forward and looked over. It seemed shallow enough, and holding the cut hawser in both hands for a last security, I let myself drop softly overboard. The water scarcely reached my waist; the sand was firm and covered with ripple marks, and I waded ashore in great spirits, leaving the HISPANIOLA on her side, with her main-sail trailing wide upon the surface of the bay. About the same time, the sun went fairly down and the breeze whistled low in the dusk among the tossing pines. At least, and at last, I was off the sea, nor had I returned thence empty-handed. There lay the schooner, clear at last from buccaneers and ready for our own men to board and get to sea again. I had nothing nearer my fancy than to get home to the stockade and boast of my achievements. Possibly I might be blamed a bit for my truantry, but the recapture of the HISPANIOLA was a clenching answer, and I hoped that even Captain Smollett would confess I had not lost my time. So thinking, and in famous spirits, I began to set my face homeward for the block house and my companions. I remembered that the most easterly of the rivers which drain into Captain Kidd's anchorage ran from the two-peaked hill upon my left, and I bent my course in that direction that I might pass the stream while it was small. The wood was pretty open, and keeping along the lower spurs, I had soon turned the corner of that hill, and not long after waded to the mid-calf across the watercourse. This brought me near to where I had encountered Ben Gunn, the maroon; and I walked more circumspectly, keeping an eye on every side. The dusk had come nigh hand completely, and as I opened out the cleft between the two peaks, I became aware of a wavering glow against the sky, where, as I judged, the man of the island was cooking his supper before a roaring fire. And yet I wondered, in my heart, that he should show himself so careless. For if I could see this radiance, might it not reach the eyes of Silver himself where he camped upon the shore among the marshes? Gradually the night fell blacker; it was all I could do to guide myself even roughly towards my destination; the double hill behind me and the Spy-glass on my right hand loomed faint and fainter; the stars were few and pale; and in the low ground where I wandered I kept tripping among bushes and rolling into sandy pits. Suddenly a kind of brightness fell about me. I looked up; a pale glimmer of moonbeams had alighted on the summit of the Spy-glass, and soon after I saw something broad and silvery moving low down behind the trees, and knew the moon had risen. With this to help me, I passed rapidly over what remained to me of my journey, and sometimes walking, sometimes running, impatiently drew near to the stockade. Yet, as I began to thread the grove that lies before it, I was not so thoughtless but that I slacked my pace and went a trifle warily. It would have been a poor end of my adventures to get shot down by my own party in mistake. The moon was climbing higher and higher, its light began to fall here and there in masses through the more open districts of the wood, and right in front of me a glow of a different colour appeared among the trees. It was red and hot, and now and again it was a little darkened - as it were, the embers of a bonfire smouldering. For the life of me I could not think what it might be. At last I came right down upon the borders of the clearing. The western end was already steeped in moonshine; the rest, and the block house itself, still lay in a black shadow chequered with long silvery streaks of light. On the other side of the house an immense fire had burned itself into clear embers and shed a steady, red reverberation, contrasted strongly with the mellow paleness of the moon. There was not a soul stirring nor a sound beside the noises of the breeze. I stopped, with much wonder in my heart, and perhaps a little terror also. It had not been our way to build great fires; we were, indeed, by the captain's orders, somewhat niggardly of firewood, and I began to fear that something had gone wrong while I was absent. I stole round by the eastern end, keeping close in shadow, and at a convenient place, where the darkness was thickest, crossed the palisade. To make assurance surer, I got upon my hands and knees and crawled, without a sound, towards the corner of the house. As I drew nearer, my heart was suddenly and greatly lightened. It is not a pleasant noise in itself, and I have often complained of it at other times, but just then it was like music to hear my friends snoring together so loud and peaceful in their sleep. The sea-cry of the watch, that beautiful "All's well," never fell more reassuringly on my ear. In the meantime, there was no doubt of one thing; they kept an infamous bad watch. If it had been Silver and his lads that were now creeping in on them, not a soul would have seen daybreak. That was what it was, thought I, to have the captain wounded; and again I blamed myself sharply for leaving them in that danger with so few to mount guard. By this time I had got to the door and stood up. All was dark within, so that I could distinguish nothing by the eye. As for sounds, there was the steady drone of the snorers and a small occasional noise, a flickering or pecking that I could in no way account for. With my arms before me I walked steadily in. I should lie down in my own place (I thought with a silent chuckle) and enjoy their faces when they found me in the morning. My foot struck something yielding - it was a sleeper's leg; and he turned and groaned, but without awaking. And then, all of a sudden, a shrill voice broke forth out of the darkness: "Pieces of eight! Pieces of eight! Pieces of eight! Pieces of eight! Pieces of eight! and so forth, without pause or change, like the clacking of a tiny mill. Silver's green parrot, Captain Flint! It was she whom I had heard pecking at a piece of bark; it was she, keeping better watch than any human being, who thus announced my arrival with her wearisome refrain. I had no time left me to recover. At the sharp, clipping tone of the parrot, the sleepers awoke and sprang up; and with a mighty oath, the voice of Silver cried, "Who goes?" I turned to run, struck violently against one person, recoiled, and ran full into the arms of a second, who for his part closed upon and held me tight. "Bring a torch, Dick," said Silver when my capture was thus assured. And one of the men left the log-house and presently returned with a lighted brand.
