I’ve been doing a lot of thinking the past few months and what do you think of ESFP!Tweek? Same functions as ENTJ but messier you know?

Alright, so a general disclaimer here: beyond INTJ, I have never really given much of a crap about the other personality types. And even with my own type, I never really put all that much stock into it, same way I never really put much stock into being a Leo or a Rooster. It’s always just kind of been for fun. So, if there’s anything I miss in this response, that would be why.

As for ESFP vs. ENTJ…hmm, I suppose you could make a solid argument for Tweek being an ESFP instead of an ENTJ. What kind of wrecks this for me is that just about everything I see regarding ESFP types is that they are committed to creating and maintaining harmony. And Tweek…really isn’t. Not that he’s violent or overly aggressive, or anything of that nature, but he doesn’t really seem to give much a crap about peace and harmony beyond his own experiences. He’s not a mediator; he’s more of a problem solver. He’s not really there to appease people or calm them down. Honestly the only person we see him trying to calm down is Craig in TFBW, which you have to admit there are extenuating circumstances there. He seems to be more interested in adverting absolute calamity than creating/maintaining harmony. All of the problems we’ve seen him try to fix at the ones that could directly impact him. (Or that felt like they could; North Korea nuking the U.S. and Kyle pushing the M.A.C. thing while Trump!Garrison was in office were both instances that would have drastic, far-reaching implications.)

There’s also the fact that they’re described as “thrill seekers” and as disliking rules and routine. I don’t really consider Tweek a thrill-seeker. He’s obviously more wild than Craig “Nice And Boring” Tucker, but we’ve never seen Tweek actively seeking out those sorts of activities. Him joining in with the LARPing games are pretty much the closest thing. His favorite ride at the carnival/fair is the Ferris Wheel. He’s not really living life in the fast lane.

The more I read about ESFP the more I can’t really see it fitting Tweek. At least, not the way I read him. There’s several mentions in the material I’ve found that refer to ESFPs doing pretty much anything to avoid conflict---Tweek doesn’t do that. Cartman’s franchise plan pissed him off? Tweek dropped Coon and Friends immediately and without hesitation. And it wasn’t his immediate instinct to resolve his conflict with Craig. Instead, he stayed mad and stuck to his convictions. Literally nothing in that shows Tweek as committed to maintaining harmony and resolving the conflict quickly.

Maybe that’s just me misunderstanding ESFP. Like I said, I never really gave a crap about the MBTI types beyond fun little memes regarding the one I typed as. For me, the ENTJ type just fits Tweek better. But that’s a personal preference, and you’re welcome to have your own.
