ignoring the news feels like a way to hold onto hope yk?accepting his departure feels like finally accepting that i’m not that child anymore, the one who watched him with wide eyes, believing football was magic and that some players would stay forever. i grew up with him. through every title, every pass, every impossible comeback, he was there, constant, steady, timeless.

letting go now feels bigger than just football. it feels like letting go of a part of my youth, of that version of me who believed things wouldn’t change. watching him leave is like watching time move in real time. it’s not just the end of an era, it’s the end of my era too.
