🍁 - What is this oc’s favorite season?

chunky’s favorite season has to be autumn all the way!! 🍁

he really loves the crisp autumn air and the colorful leaves, as well as wearing cozy sweaters <3 it inspires him to make recipes that remind him of the season, so there’s plenty of warm hearty meals at the table from him!

he also likes to spend time with the people he loves, though that’s all year round rather than just autumn LOL

OH this is a great question! i haven’t thought about this with nassy before so this is a fun excercise >:]

i honestly think nastasia’s favorite scents would be foresty scents, maybe even like the way it smells outside after the rain? it makes me think of her for some reason! and it would make her think of home <3

as for like food-related scents, she loves the scent of fruit and sweets both!! she’s got a sweet fang after all!!

i think she’d also love those candles that smell like “moonlit night” or “forest” or something to that nature, it’s hard to describe the scents but she’d love them methinks!

According to one of your works, I noticed that Luke, Leia and Ezra were almost best friends when they were teenagers. And how is Ezra doing with Han. Do they have any dislike for Leia (Han's Love/Ezra's best friend)

I assume this is in reference to the "what if Ezra was around for the rest of the rebellion stuff"? Here's some further thoughts on how he would fit in with the OT trio :]

Han and Ezra get on each others nerves, being around each other is a constant ego measuring contest. Han brings out Ezra’s cocky side and they like to sound off against each other, but it’s mostly all banter and neither of them are ever seriously ticked off by each other. In fact, they like to play sabacc and other card games together whenever it’s just them kicking around base.

Leia and Ezra are besties ofc, I like to think they would’ve been pen pals throughout most of Rebels, and now they’re back in person face to face they spend a lot of time together just chatting. I like to think as teenagers they often confided in each other about the difficulties they faced in their respective roles in the rebellion, and they continue to be emotional rocks for each other later on. They also have a pretty banter filled relationship but it’s less vulgar than it is with Han.

As for Luke and Ezra… we’ll you know me, I’m on that skybridger bullshit haha. No notes there.

As a quad they all get along pretty great. Ezra brings a little silliness to the vibe, as well as a fair bit of emotional wisdom.

Could you analyze Thalia's relationships with the twins?

Thalia has a very unique relationship with both Artemis and Apollo.

We'll start with Apollo, since he's the one she (indirectly) interacts with first, in The Diary of Luke Castellan.

She meets Halcyon Green, son of Apollo, and a seer who was cursed by Apollo for revealing the future, even though Apollo warned - and I quote - that doing so would "anger the gods".

I won't go into detail on Apollo's end of this, because @fearlessinger has already made a BANGER of a post discussing Apollo and Halcyon Green, so go check that out if you haven't already!

With this in mind, you'd think Thalia would be less eager about meeting Apollo face-to-face for the first time. Instead, though...

"Wow," Thalia muttered. "Apollo is hot." "He's the sun god," I said. "That's not what I meant." - Chapter 4, The Titan's Curse

Of course, out of universe, this is very likely because Rick wrote TTC first and Diary later, but in-universe, it's interesting the think about - especially when we look at what Halcyon tells Luke, and ergo Thalia about finally understanding what Apollo meant.

Luke takes it the wrong way. He ends up solidifying his resentment towards Hermes, towards the gods, which leads him down his dark path.

Thalia, however...I believe she took it a different way.

He took back the book and wrote, You have an important future. Your choices will change the world. You can learn from my mistakes, continue the diary. It might help you with your decisions. “What decisions?” I asked. “What did you see that scared you so badly?” His pen hovered over the page for a long time. I think I finally understand why I was cursed, he wrote. Apollo was right. Sometimes the future really is better left a mystery. - The Diary of Luke Castellan

Now, Thalia can't see what Hal is writing here, but I think she's smart enough to pick up on the context clues. She wouldn't be able to get the full picture, but but she knows that; 1) Hal was scared of the vision he had of Luke; and 2) He's written something about Apollo, and Luke is disagreeing with him on it.

Putting those together, Thalia no doubt concluded that Hal's figured out why he was cursed, or at the very least has understood something about the gods, and about Apollo in particular.

I don't think she came to this conclusion quickly though. After all, she would no doubt have a hard time believing that something truly bad was in both of their futures - but what about when she comes back from the tree? And finds out that Hal's prediction had come true?

She was likely upset he hadn't warned them, probably stewed in her anger for a while, before really thinking about it.

And in doing so, I think she came to the conclusion that Hal had learned what Apollo warned him of - that sharing the future can have disastrous consequences. So I think, because of Hal's understanding, and armed with her own about the future he told her and Luke of, she came to understand Hal, and therefore Apollo's perspective.

Warning them likely wouldn't have helped. That's how prophecies work. If something - like the Great Prophecy - is destined to happen, then it will. Hal learned this, and took it to heart by not telling Luke and Thalia, because it would only cause more damage - it would throw everything out of balance.

So Thalia is free to make remarks about how hot Apollo is lol And get called out on it by Apollo in The Dark Prophecy lmao

yes yes i know apollo "flirted" with her but 1) he immediately reminds her that they are siblings and ergo tells her there's no chance he'll go for her and 2) yes he does make that one comment about her in TDP, but again, he's trying to prove to us the reader that he's a horrible person and as you can see in TTT, he makes absolutely ZERO remarks when they meet again because he's dropped the facade by then. critical thinking is a virtue <3

As for Artemis, we have much less to go on here. But I'll try!!

Thalia only joins the Hunt to escape the prophecy. Which is why I think she'll eventually leave because it was a choice of convenience but we're not talking about that today. However, we DO know that Thalia is close to Artemis not only because she's the lieutenant, but also because Thalia has seen Artemis split between her and Diana during Apollo's trials! I doubt Artemis would allow most of her Hunters to see her like that, but Thalia does! So that's cool.

However...I don't think Thalia would see eye-to-eye with Artemis on Olympus, and ergo Zeus it always comes back to #REVOLUTION doesn't it? lol So I think that is where there will be contention, because Thalia would NOT side with the side that stagnates - she would be on the side that wants change for the better.

She did not join Luke because he went the completely wrong way about it. He abandoned her, and Annabeth, and the rest of their family - the demigods - by following Kronos, and endangering their family. By forgetting who he promised to stick by.

Not Thalia. She has gone through too much to forget such a thing. She will not forget who her family is, even if she has lost so much of it. Even if it will cause a division within the ranks of her sisters

Because Thalia loves her family.

Okay so I feel like they would have gotten together after Spencer got out of prison. Maybe not immediately after he gets out, but still after.

There were definitely feelings before that whole thing happened, from both sides. But considering they had just met and were busy with the whole Scretch thing, not much happened.

After prison makes more sense to me bc of how Luke acted during that time. He did everything to help Spencer in prison and make sure he didn't get hurt.

Luke couldn't have been more relieved when Spencer got out of prison (he definitely wanted to hold Spencer in his arms and not let him go ever, but idk maybe I'm js being extra)

Obviously Luke wouldn't want to push Spencer into a relationship after such a traumatic event, but he definitely would've stayed close to him.

Eventually, after things calmed down and smoothened out more, they would have gotten together.

I don't really have a timeframe (like a season/episode) to give you, because idk I'm bad with time, including fictional time ! But maybe a couple or so months after Spencer got out of prison ?

sunshine kind boy golden retriever characterization of Luke Skywalker my BELOATHED. sooo many fics infantilize luke (esp certain pairings) and i'm just over it. not even just because of power level/scaling reasons. by the time of return of the jedi that is a Man. that is an Adult Man who has Seen the Horrors. of course there is still a silly, goofy, kind, loving side to him but he is a war veteran and killer of millions and the Last Jedi. there is something deeply tragic about his character that the typical fanon and fanfic characterization lacks

luke skywalker as a political animal/activist in the galaxy! i don't think he's on the level of leia (in that i do not think he's interested in becoming a political figurehead or using political power in that way) but he is certainly active and engaged in galactic politics. he wants to learn and he wants to understand but more importantly he wants to figure out how he can bring his unique skills and benefits to advance the rebel cause. man went from farmboy to violent political radical in a weekend that didn't just happen by accident

6. What was the thought process behind their appearance? Did you go mostly for the aesthetic or are there other reasons they look the way they do?

Oh my GOD ok so fun story abt robot, they’re actually the only member of the 6 og dice to not have a canon human appearance. Everyone else either had one in a promo image (warrior, thief, inventor, witch) or has one in game (jester). The most we get with robot is a silhouette! So when it came to designing them, I was. Uh. Kinda flying blind HDJJSKS

That being said, I did make my own “canon compliant” design of them before doing my own stylized thing! Cant remember if I ever shared that one (and I can’t remember where I’ve put the photo…) but they’ve always been a human, to me. Having a human named robot is fun for all sorts of thematic and character reasons- but particularly, it highlights that they aren’t one. It’s something they strive for, or others may see them as (for better or worse), but ultimately not what they really are.

Other than that, my only requirements were a kind of classy, older academia kind of a look. They Look Smart bc they Are Smart, but also bc that polished appearance is integral to the person they’re trying to become!

Argyle sweater vests and bow ties are just,,, Very Robot, to me :]

I also leaned academia rather than computer geek/hacker aesthetic to differentiate them from inventor! They’re both tech nerds, but I wanted everyone to look distinct from each other- hence the lean into a more by the books “intelligent” aesthetic than a tech based one.

Even tho their title is robot.

7. What is an aspect of their appearance that you like the most?

I like their silly cowlicks and tired eyes <3

They try to be prim and polished, but there’s no way to burnish out all the quirky bits that come with being human X]

10. What is their main character arc in the story? Where do they start and how do they develop? Do they get a happy ending or is their story a tragic one?

Getting there, though, is of course a bit of a ride. Robot might seem like one of the lowest stakes character arcs, but theirs is just as important as the others.

What they’re striving for is perfection. Sure, they’re aware humans are imperfect, but they want to be whatever counts as perfect. Do the right things, have the right job, present the right mannerisms, have a life and be a person that’s considered “successful.” And there’s not… entirely smth wrong with wanting that? We all wanna have a good life!

The thing is, though, they often put their own well being to the wayside. Oh sure, they eat enough and get enough exercise, but only so they can have the right numbers on a spreadsheet. They’ve done all this schooling because they “should,” followed this career path into tech support because it’s “what was most needed” nd something they were “good enough at.” They don’t mind doing what they’re doing. But it’s… not what they’re passionate about.

Because following passions is how you burn out. How you lose it all, because you took too many risks. It’s how you get distracted and get caught unawares by any of the many, MANY trials life throws at you.

And by the gods, it will throw them at you. Without mercy.

Robot is very kind. But they’re also very, very cynical. The world is cruel and does not care. Therefore, they will do their part to ease the burden on others. Doesn’t really matter if they WANT to be part of a bigger picture. They’re just a word on a page, a number in a sequence. Better to make themself a better support beam than try to be anything unique.

Their arc is, funnily enough, learning to be a little selfish. Learning they can have and want more than the bare minimum. Learning to embrace being human.

And that, I think, is one of the most important things for everyone to learn.
