I never actually thought about what happens with person’s body when they are bedridden, but then I saw how my great-aunt took care of her husband and wow that was touching!! What are your opinions on Wilson (from Don’t Starve)? 👀

First impression:

I actually really liked Wilson off the bat, even though I didn’t know who he was! When I was like 13 I ran a roleplay account (for a character completely unrelated to ds[t]) and I was so intrigued by him.

I loved scientist characters at the time so much, but being 13, I couldn’t exactly buy whichever video games I wanted (plus I wasn’t much of a gamer at the time, and plus plus my parents were pretty strict about how many video games I COULD play) so I admired him from a distance!

When I finally did play DS a few years later I just loved Wilson soo much… his silly nature truly did captivate me. The final nail in the coffin was when I made a plush of him LOL that just seals the deal for the character once I do that

Impression now:

I still love him so much years later 😭 not to mention he makes me so nostalgic. Even if I don’t actively post or fixate on him, I don’t see a world where he doesn’t have a special place in my heart

Favorite moment:

honestly the best Wilson moment for me is in the Cyclum puzzles, when he sees Maxwell and immediately starts a fist fight 😭 it’s just so funny

Idea for a story:

I will be so honest I’ve been running so dry on story ideas for any media, so for this one I got nothing 😭

Unpopular opinion:

Dunno how “unpopular” this is but I really don’t think he’s a bad scientist, or that he’s unintelligent. I know he is portrayed as failing a lot but I think Wilson’s just like. Experiencing the scientific method. Like it’s normal for science to be frustrating and also for things you try to fail, I think. Not everything you try will explode into your face like with Wilson buuuut

Favorite relationship:

platonic obviously but the way Wilson is portrayed with Chester in the shorts is so ❤️ that’s his ouppy <3

Favorite headcanon:

my most pervasive Wilson headcanon that was borne from aside canon stuff is that his family was wealthy, but they have completely cut him out of the family and left him with almost nothing, thus the state of his home (tbf I made this before I knew he canonically got scammed) and as an explanation for why he doesn’t ever mention his family in game or anywhere else
