SERI i was like this reading your tag-essays. literally you explained it so perfectly and there was massive context i'm missing (seriously i need to read more ! era stories fjdjsk)

i remember what prompted my post was your tags about how Ritsu is shown "in rei's shadow" on the only card they share (on Ritsu's side) and then the whole conflict in Black Snow, some thing i noticed from reading random stories here and there is that Ritsu really hates being referred as Rei's little brother.

Besides the obvious abandonment and neglect for Ritsu's feelings, there's also the constant comparison with someone who's supposed to be someone to naturally look up to, who is unfortunately a genius of sorts, and as a little sibling myself it's so understandable if he gets tired of that bc it's like adding salt to an open wound. (i mean, a giant deep wound considering *gestures to everything you mentioned* oughhh)

And btw you don't sound like a hater at all, Rei's fatal flaw is being deathly allergic to asking for help (as to not burden others) and speaking his true feelings. and yeah....

And yeah ritsu feeling like he's stuck in rei's shadow is very much one of those other somewhat less significant problems with their relationship I mentioned. But there's literally so much going on with them
