Blaidd meets Big Berserker Lady colored (Elden Ring)
featuring a random tarnished fellow and my barbarian Beth Ravencoft
Also, been forgetting to plug my Patreon from time to time these weeks XD
So here you go
https://www.patreon.com/ArtFrenzy
Its mostly there for people that can and wanna support me to keep making my crossovers, originals and fanart pieces
Back to the piece, Ill copy and paste what I had in the WIP
his was on my to do list since 2022, Added the Tarnished for height reference and ended up adding him to the composition proper XD
For some small context, Beth is no tarnished, and she is basically a "defective lycan blood" in her setting, so she has some werewolf elements in her human form. With both some abilites, mannerisms and weaknesses of the ones of her setting

i don't trust software that makes it a point to mention it was made with itself. "all the graphics in our art program were produced with the art program" "98% of our SDK's interface was programmed in the SDK itself" something unholy about that. you don't see me birthing myself

Now this is a sip I'm excited about. It started as a bit of a vent project, and now it's turning into one of my favorites. Yes the subject was originally me, but it has turned into my character Colin, named after melancholia. So. Yeah he's not super okay. This project is the first thing I'm ever using SAM (the Software Automatic Mouth) for, and it will probably end up being one of the first projects I animate for. It's really simple, writing-wise, but I love it so much. It's my baby and you all have to love it.
Audio transcript: I'm sorry. I know I'm bad to look at. I'm rotten. Empty. Broken.

If you were to transfer the code of the Biografts into a text medium, there would be several notes written by Subspace at like 3AM, so stuff like;
"I have no idea what any of this does, but if I delete it the whole system crashes." "This is a complete mess but I'm not bothered enough to fix it right now." "I do not know which unholy god I contacted to make this work but gods am I glad for it"
(mostly inspired by those videos of people going into the code of games/softwares and finding devs screams of agony)

Leave it to World Champ Game Co. to find the edge of a pretty established sub-genre and push past it into something weird and new. This is Cybermetal (2022), an unholy fusion of cyberpunk, heavy metal and black magic. In an alternate timeline, a heavy metal band sacrifices Ronald Reagan on stage to resurrect their dead guitarist and eventually, the gates of Hell open and demons conquer America. In the wake of their victory, they turn a Midwestern city into Pentagram City, a place isolated from the rest of the world by walls of hellfire.
Being cut off meant a greater reliance on analog tech, like radio and walkie talkies and a LAN called the Pentaweb, but citizens of Pentagram City also have access the cybernetics developed during the Hell War to combat the demons. The neuronexus makes skill learning easy (think the Matrix) and combat slow and personal (the tech basically makes the user flicker on a different frequency of reality, so fast weapons just pass right through). In addition to humans, you can play as mutants, demons and husks, which are sort of cyberzombies created in the wake of the Y2K bug.
The software system provides lots of cool skills (turn your headbanging into a deadly weapon!). There’s crafting, there’s cyber surgery, rules for gang creation and management and long-term gang projects. There is a bunch of source material on Pentagram City and so, so many passing references to heavy metal. It’s sort of shocking that A. Adam fit all this text in and had room for so much gnarly art, B. That the art in question is as aggressive and unrelenting as CyBORG’s, but also of a totally distinct temperament and C. That the game is so smoothly playable — it uses a percentile skill system and does everything you’d expect from a tightly designed modern light rules set.

In the words of Haversam of Novac,
Smootheskin–
but no, seriously, where is? the wrinkle? the melting sphynx wrinkle? where is the "poorly skinned chicken" vibe? where is the "the old flesh was rend off the bone to make new from under a much hardier carcass to show for the current state of the world"? thing? "we may look dead, but we've yet to let go of life and it won't let us the easy way anyhow" feel? where? is the sex appeal charm???
I mean this with every fiber of my being but whoever was in charge of designing the ā€œghoulsā€ for the Fallout tv show should be jailed and given a life sentence with no chance of parole
Tumblr media
Look at how they massacred my beautiful ghouls! Deadpool looks more ghoulish than him! There isn’t a wrinkle on this mfs body! This is just a man who lost his nose!

The writers are cowards for not giving us gross looking ghouls!

Have you ever translated the escaflowne doujins called kago no tori by Minato tojima? The art is amazing and I know it's NSFW doujins but the story is so good!
As aĀ matter of fact, IĀ did! IĀ mean, IĀ did one of the books back in the day (15 years ago), when both my Japanese and machine translation were in diapers. It was an unholy amount of work then, even for a doujin. I remember using some sort of software keyboard for kanas and then several dictionaries looking up each kanji. IĀ don’t think the result is much better than what you can get by machine translation today so I’m definitely not gonna post that.
EDIT: Here's a proof I wasn't lying (I looked for it on the old drive backup):
Tumblr media
Anyway, I'm a big Tajima stan, but it was aĀ different time when these doujins were produced and IĀ think we all can see that they are problematic by today’s standards. IĀ was intrigued by the story myself, but IĀ think something like that (which btw. was not uncommon in vanilla shoujo manga of the time) would today put it straight into porn category, without regard to its attempt at aĀ serious story... which is leagues above actual porn but... yeah. IĀ still think it is an interesting and unusual work (especially for an adult doujin) and IĀ would relish the NTR/melodrama but IĀ don’t think I’m gonna translate it at this point. Maybe try asking in the #escaflowne tag? IĀ know there are other people who have done/offered doing translations in the fandom.
This has also to do with my changed attitudes towards translation in general, tbh., as you can see on my stickied post, I’m not doing any new translations currently, just trying to complete the few remaining projects IĀ started. I’m not going to bother you with all that but if anyone cares, more under the cut.
Translating is an ungrateful job for me IĀ found. You struggle for hours between two languages, neither of which is your native tongue, to be, yes, thanked and praised, but also lowkey doubted and compared, accused of attentionwhoring, or straight-out mocked for your language skills. Or you bother people about beta-reading to bring aĀ better-quality product, feeling bad for wasting their time as well. You do this for free, but the product can get freely reposted in groups and websites you have no idea about, edited, or further discussed without your knowledge, nobody would even pause at that. And at the end of the day, no matter how poor the translation is, you spent hours of your time on it, hours that you will never get back. Last thing IĀ need is to be confronted about the contents of the translated work or to see my translation on an 18+ doujin site.
In fact, IĀ don’t need to do or post any translations for myself, my Japanese level after a decade of learning is just about enough to understand what is talked about. IĀ don’t need to exert myself to do anything else, sorry. It’s not like there are no other options in this day and age. But sincere thanks to those who have helped or appreciated the work, even imperfect as it was. I’m grateful for the support and I hope to have another translation up for you, soon (there is less than a handful of things I started translating but idk how many of them I’ll manage to finish).

Would you like to ā€œopen Pandora’s boxā€ and see what other deranged dick-related thoughts plague my mind? 🄓
Or do you want some new crack to enjoy? šŸ¤—
Also you gotta tell me how much stuff you tell your boyfriend about these blog shenanigans! šŸ˜‚
-šŸ‘˜
Feel free to dump whatever unholy concoction plagues your mind, that's why we're here in the first place.
To answer your question, my boyfriend is a software developer working from home. I have my desk right next to his, so we're basically together all day long. That is to say, he witnesses everything. He finds the whole ordeal very funny and loves to be involved.
"Jesus Christ, how would that even...good question, actually. How would it work? Let us consider."
"Did you answer that anon question? Do it now, I want to know what everyone else thinks."
"Did you mention it was my idea?"

Can you please tell me what story points are I hear about them from tech dudes they sound so scary
oh yes lmao. let me answer this publicly so everyone can learn...
in software development there's a work allocation philosophy called agile that everyone either does or tries to do. some people just "do" agile and some people will tell you that agile is a vibe and you can only "do" subsets of it like scrum or kanban or whatever. many people use these terms interchangably and many places end up doing an unholy patchwork of various agile frameworks and hoping for the best.
(or they don't actually do agile at all but adopt agile tools and terminology anyway because that's the shit everyone knows how to use. Big Atlassian has us in their grip...)
in (some) agile work planning, each team divides their session into sprints, which is a fixed length of time for which you pre-determine what you'll be working on and any new tasks won't get picked up or really even looked at until the next sprints. from what I've seen these are usually two-ish weeks but can definitely be more or less. at the end of your sprint, you'll ideally be done with all of the work you were assigned and then get new things to work on for the next sprint.
each unit of work is broken into a story, which is supposed to be a whole anthropomorphized "user story" and not just a unit of work but I've never worked somewhere that adhered to this. sometimes people call them a ticket or an issue instead. it kinda depends on the tool you're using. right now we use a not-jira tool that calls them stories, so to us they're stories! but they're basically just bite-sized work assignments.
each story gets an estimate of how much effort you think it'll take to complete it. (not time, just effort. these are supposed to be different but no one has ever explained how in a way that's satisfied me.) those are your story points. so when you do your sprint planning every <x> weeks, you or your boss or your scrum master or whoever allocates work based on the point total of your stories. let's say that you're usually trying to hit 30-ish story points or so; you might pull in a 13, an 8, a 5, and four 1s for that sprint based on which stories are outstanding. but the next sprint might be two 8s, a 5, three 3s, and a 2.
also I love (and am mystified by??) how these tech dudes are apparently just coming to you to complain about their sprint planning all the time. but I understand. it's rough out here.
