first of all, the way karina's fans are babying her and defending her so fervently is baffling to me. that woman is 25 years old, and you seriously think she's enough of an airhead to not know what all the symbols on her post mean, ESPECIALLY during election season??

first reason karina's post was a mistake: SK's democracy is extremely young. we've only had 13 elections, with 3 dictators (4 if you count YSY's short martial law last year) and practically every other one being jailed or tried for corruption. so the chance that the candidate you endorse (regardless of party) ends up being a corrupt piece of shit has an extremely high success rate. second reason: this is not a normal election. YSY was impeached, and people are VERY angry at him for the mess he caused last year, and the fact that karina endorsed his party is. just wow.

this is not to say that LJM (blue party) is a good candidate. he's literally being investigated for corruption and a shit ton of other things so if you think this is me endorsing him or the DPK....no 😭

karina has the freedom to endorse and vote for whoever she wants, but that does not absolve her from the consequences of her actions. stop treating her like she's a child that didn't know any better. if she's adult enough to vote for and publicly support the conservative party, she's adult enough to take the heat for it.

idols are not perfect angels that can do no wrong. they are humans with human flaws and biases, and they SHOULD take accountability when they do something wrong. a half-assed apology on an exclusive paid platform or a corporate statement doesn't cut it. personally, my morals and beliefs are more important to me than supporting a celebrity.

No, nobody is forcing anyone to do anything. Fans are free to unstan him and leave fandom. That's why he's had his fan exoduses over the years. That's why this current situation is making a lot of people unstan him and leave fandom. 90% of his fans love him despite his public image and persona. Think on that one for a while...

However, it would be a bit disrespectful of you not not acknowledge the history here. Why we're still here after all these years of bullshit, of hate directed at us and attempts at invalidation. You would be amiss to not acknowledge what these fans are really giving up. That they've given up on Louis, that they have no faith in the future anymore. That the sacrifices they've made in order to stay a fan hasn't been worth the while. That seeing a happy ending for Louis (and for Harry) isn't something they see happening anymore. That the fight for injustice and closeting in the music industry isn't making things any better. That Sony is winning. That having more out and proud queer role models who can help normalise queerness and break stereotypes aren’t happening. That the fight in him and light in him is gone. A fight that we used to fight together as a team, is no more. There's no fight in him anymore, because he's abandoned it, abandoned us.

Leaving isn't easy. Fans don’t want to give up on him and leave with a heavy heart. Fans want him to fight, to be better, to do better. Fans are allowed to want better of him. Fans who criticise and call him out are welcomed in this fandom. Even if Louis is suffering, that doesn’t mean he has to take it out on others. That also doesn’t make his actions and behaviour okay. We're allowed to be disappointed in him, and keep supporting him. We're also allowed to leave.
