Sprout and Big Leo were created on Earth! Though their kindergarden was incomplete before it was abandoned in the start of the war. Homeworld didnt think anything would come out of it, but surprise surprise something did- an entire batch of Larimar! Except they were all missing a right arm

Big Leo took on the role of leader of this batch, and joined the side of Earth. Big Leo and Sprout grew particularly close since they also had the same gem placements.

War kept happening, gems shattered around them until it was just Big Leo and Sprout left out of their small kindergarden batch. Then something from the sky, a light or a sound or, a song? Big Leo sacrificed himself and used himself as a shield to protect Sprout, gems corrupted all around including Big Leo, who corrupted in Sprouts arms.

Sprout was the last gem on earth for years and years, and made it his duty to poof and bubble the corrupted gems so they caused no further harm to the planet. He avoided capturing Big Leo though, too many feelings towards that one.

In spare time he carved the temple. Though while in show the temple was of obsidian, this temple is going to be of Avocado Toast, the fusion between himself and Big Leo to remember him well.

Then to his luck and surprise, there was a gem still cooking in his old kindergarden, Poptart! An overcooked larimar but another larimar none the less, from his kindergarden, with the same gem placement as himself and Big Leo. Suffice to say Sprout was super happy to have someone else on earth with him, especially a gem from his same kindergarden with same gem placement!

Anyways, I chose larimar since that gemstone in particular is a bit special to me. In addition, in show larimar "carves ice sculptures for the diamonds" but for these guys I decided to extend that to carving more than just ice. They can also carve rock, wood, ect, and act as a subcategory in architecture department! They can summon chisels, swords, and other sharp things from their gems for carving or yknow, poofing- fighting-

so there's roughly four levels of power that you get from the sun and moon as a human

1.) no powers- normal human

2.) born with it- rapunzel's healing magic/glowing hair/likely stays healthier by default. varian has remnants of moon magic from the blast in the dark kingdom 25 years ago through quirin being directly shot by it, but because it was so many years after the blast before varian was born, the effects on him are milder (both due to that and also due to the moon being inherently less powerful than the sun) so, the stripe, more resistant to injury and that's why he didn't die during qfad cuz he was walking through that blizzard for way too long to be fine ok i'm rolling with this. and maybe he has insomnia because of it, and in high stress situations his eyes look a little too blue to be natural. strange but definitely not "my hair glows and heals people" type weird.

3.) stolen magic- both moon!cass and rapunzel's hair being indestructible via tbea fall under this category. (rapunzel didn't want this but since she did inflict it on herself i'm counting it in this category.) VARIAN- buckle up people this is gonna be a long one. so flash forward to cassandra's revenge. varian's cage has been brought in and rapunzel and cass are dueling it out. the moonstone cracks, this time varian catches the shard, but in the chaos of battle no one really notices and varian barely realizes what he did until he's headed home. he experiments on it later in secret, trying to harness its power into something akin to what project obsidian was, but it keeps failing and he doesn't know why. turns out- the moon's power (also the sun's too) only works on living organisms so basicallyyyyyyyy it needs a human host. (SIDE NOTE- in this au quirin stays dead in the amber because of that reason- the decay incantation just doesn't work because the amber isn't alive) varian kind of figures this out but he doesn't really want to try it on himself because a.) the rocks haven't exactly been a high point in his life, and b.) the reason he kept this whole project secret in the first place was because he didn't want team corona thinking he was doing nefarious things with it and turning against them cough cough cass and sporting this wouldn't keep it secret whatsoever

i haven't thought the next part out too well but he turns to trying to summon Moon herself somehow for answers because at least he has a lead with this. and i want it to happen at the great tree but i don't really know why. anyway he summons her, how, i don't know

4.) possession- okay so basically varian and moon don't hit it off at all. varian's extremely bitter about the rock situation that yknow. destroyed his home and indirectly led to quirin's death and moon-

(okay so vague incomplete backstory for moon. when edmund literally tried killing her in that same blast 25 years ago because she was deemed corrupted, she survived but it left her critically injured. gods have no known way of dying ad no one knows how to kill them, but they also have no way of healing from injuries, so that wound is still just as fresh as it was 25 years ago and she's in so much pain. the rocks are somewhat akin to blood/tears, and i think the way i'm going with this is that the only way gods CAN die/be born anew is by making contact with another god, aka the rocks chasing rapunzel/sun. so moon's body is trying to destroy itself as, ironically, a survival instinct but her mind isn't aware of it, to her it's just her blood tearing up the earth.) anyway things get heated and varian gets forcibly possessed out of moon's desperation for someone to understand what she's been through, so in the flash of a few seconds varian gets 25 years of unimaginable pain, all of her memories and thoughts, and the full extent of her powers. but being possessed by a literal god is way more dangerous than, say, being possessed by something from our world, like a ghost or small magical artifact (think: ulla) so i'm REALLY not sure how much damage that would do to varian, the human, even for the few seconds that moon's outburst lasted, but i'm guessing some pretty bad burns (think: cass's charred hand) and some level of mental damage. the longer you stayed possessed by a god, the worse it gets, so eventually you would just. die from the strain

this goes for the other levels too, to some extent. like cass's health will get increasingly worse over the months and if rapunzel tries to use too much of the sun's power, she'll start literally burning up cuz- cuz sun. sun hot. (side note: moon HATESSSSS cass for taking her stone, cuz not only does humans having the gods power drain the gods of energy and health too (sun can stand this more because she's inherently more powerful- she can take it but moon CAN'T), but cass stealing it and telling the sun to take a hike disrupts moon's subconscious decision to try and rebirth herself by colliding with sun) (zhan tiri's pissed off by cass's decisions too and she's constantly trying to make her and raps interact for her portal thing yada yada when honestly all cass really wants to do is get away from rapunzel and never look back)

i think it's possible that if moon realized why she was trying to collide with the sun, she COULD possess him and just ram him into rapunzel like a bulldozer, but that would definitely kill him and rapunzel too, so as long as moon stays ignorant, they're both fine-ish. she might could convince him to take the shard for himself for some reason but idkkkkkkkk. would definitely be a lot safer than outright possession but it would not have the same level of power as someone like cassandra, moon would have no reason to make him do this though and i seriously doubt that varian would take it for himself unless out of severe desperation

The Eye 👁️ - Take Me To Church: despite being first on the playlist i actually struggled a bit to find a song that would fit, but i felt like TMTC had some really good lyrics for the Eye (“I’ll tell you my sins so you can sharpen your knife,” “let me give you my life,” etc)

The Lonely 🌫️ - To Be Alone: i feel like this one is pretty self-explanatory. even though it’s technically about being with another person, it really emphasizes the “no one else is around” vibe. also…like, the title. yknow?

The Desolation 🔥 - Arsonist’s Lullaby: again, even more self-explanatory. the theme and lyrics of burning and fire and destruction. very Agnes Montague coded.

The Buried ⚰️ - Work Song: this one was mainly chosen for the chorus lyrics. “when my time comes around, lay me gently in the cold dark earth. no grave could hold my body down, i’d crawl home to her.” it feels very reminiscent of Daisy and Jon crawling out of the coffin.

The Vast ✈️ - I, Carrion (Icarian): for me it was either this or Sunlight, since both have references to Icarus and falling from the sky into the ocean, which all scream Vast. but I, Carrion places more emphasis on the actual fall, the wind rushing by and watching the sky expand, so i felt it was a better fit.

The Dark 🌑 - Son of Nyx: this one was hard. all the songs that i felt like could fit the Dark better I had already assigned to other fears, so this one is really off vibes and the title alone since SON doesn’t actually have lyrics. i still think it fits though, as the song does have a very “dark” feel to it.

The End 🪦 - Abstract (Psychopomp): originally i was going to assign the End to All Things End, but i actually feel like this song fits better. it feels so close and zoomed into the actual theme of death. “the fear in its eyes, gone out in an instant.” yeah…very End vibes.

The Corruption 🪱- It Will Come Back: this one too is based very much on the over all vibes as well as the literal lyrics. the idea of showing something kindness (being a host) until it will not leave feels very much like an infestation of sorts. where do we draw the line between a lover and a parasite? yeah this is Jane’s song.

The Flesh 🥩 - Eat Your Young: do i even have to explain? i can see this one also working for the Slaughter, but the Flesh is all about meat, eating, cannibalism, etc. “it’s quicker and easier to eat your young,” “i’m starving, darling,” “old and young are welcome to the meal.” it also touches on how people just want to consume, to own, and to have.

The Slaughter 🪖 - Nobody’s Solider: another one which is pretty self-explanatory. the fear of being seen as nothing but a tool for violence, the disdain for fighting. it’s an anti-war song, ofc it’s perfect for the Slaughter.

The Hunt 🐺 - In The Woods Somewhere: fun fact this song is actually the reason i decided to make this playlist. i just felt like it reminded me so much of when Basira had to hunt down Daisy in s5, putting her out of her misery. it just radiates Hunt vibes as well with its lyrics, both the pov of the hunter and the prey. “i turned and ran, to save a life i didn’t have.”

The Spiral 🌀- To Noise Making (Sing): this one was also a bit tricky but i actually think it fits pretty well, though it does lack the sense of fear that a lot of the others capture better. the idea of singing without a rhythm or purpose but just to make noise feels very Spiral-esque. also the obligatory “how would a melody describe itself?”

The Stranger 🎭 - Foreigner’s God: it was a tough choice between this and Someone New, but i think FG has a lot more of that fear and heartbreak that the Stranger stresses. A few of the lines are just so Stranger it’s ridiculous. “always a well-dressed fraud,” “wondering who i copy,” “all that i’ve been taught, and every word i’ve got, it foreign to me.”

The Web 🕷️- Swan Upon Leda: the Web was also a bit hard for me to pick because i was so caught up in the mindset of the Web being arachnophobia, but then i realized that such a big part of it manipulation and the loss of control over your own body. That control and loss of bodily autonomy is obviously a theme in this song, so i think it fits.

The Extinction ☢️ - All Things End: i actually wasn’t going to include the Extinction in the playlist, but i just felt like ATE fit it so well, i threw it in there anyways. the idea that all things are finite, everything will end, and we will all return to dust we were made from can feel pretty End (like i said, i was originally going to assign it to that one) but it just feels so much bigger than one person, and much closer to the Extinction imo.

Jumping back on the Wereworld/Wolf King train again, I wanna talk about some controversial (?) takes I had after finishing the books - but please don't come at me, I'm just a new fan expressing some thoughts I had, and this is such a small fandom and I genuinely get excited to hear what anyone might have to say about it, so feel free to debate or discuss with me :)

So, speaking in regards to the books for a moment: I gotta give credit where credit is due, because goddam is this a decievingly rich world. I mean, I went into it expecting the usual fanatsay stchick, but the amount of lore and world building that went into creating Lyssia is breathtaking. I touched on this in my previous post, but I'll mention it again - having a world for your characters to inhabit that feels lived in, that feels like you, as the reader, with some context could inhabit yourself, is such an excellent starting point for any kind of fantasy, I can't begin to go into it or we'd be here all day. Having a fantasy land with all kinds of different, fleshed out cultures, their own kinds of history, and a range of different topographys and being able to tie it all together into a cohesive world that only lends itself to the narrative, but strengthens it? Incredible, astounding work, and these books do it well. Lyssia feels akin to something like Alagaiesia from the Inheritance Cycle, with its vast range of locations and diversity of characters, and its something I really started to appreciate the further into the series I went.

Now, I want to speak about the characters for a sec, and their relationships with each other in particular. Individually, I think Curtis does a really good job of fleshing out his characters in a way that really wants to make you root for them - I have to be honest, I didn't really connect with Drew when I watched the TV show, but the moment Tilly was murdered in the book and he fled to the Dyrewood? You best believe I was sat for the horrors this boy was about to go through.

Now, the relationships - Hector and Drew? Beautiful. Gorgeous. Best guy friendship I've seen in so long. That's Drew’s bestie, you touch him and he won't just rip his own hand off, he'll rip yours off too. But on a serious note, I really enjoyed their friendship in the first two books, and while I did also enjoy Hector's corruption arc, I missed having our boys together in one place, because they don't really interact after the split in the second book until the last one - and I think it's a crying shame, honestly, because while Drew manged to find so many other allies, Hector was his first friend, yknow? There really was a level of trust and understanding between the two that Drew never really manged to find with anyone else, and I'll always be a little sad we never got to see more of that.

Now in terms of romantic relationships, here's where I come out with my potentially controversial take (?) - so, personally, I am not the biggest fan of Drew x Whitley.

(I'm sorry, I have no idea if this is blasphemy or not, this really is just me as a new fan putting putting my thoughts out here, so please bear with me if this is like a heinous crime or something)

Look, I really like them as individual characters, I do. Drew starts out a farm boy and ends a real king, Whitely starts out an experiences trainee and ends up a badass woodland scout at the end. Both fantastic. But in terms of shipping? It felt really abrupt, I'm gonna be honest.

I cant be the only one who thought there was a vibe between Drew and Gretchen, right? Like there was definitely something there, and it's expressedly mentioned by more than one character at a certain point?

Look, I'm a sucker for a good enemies-to-rivals-to-lovers ship. That's my kryptonite, and these two had it going strong for them. When they finally became friends, and started becoming more comfortable around each other, and you could see the way being around the other was enough to invite change in their personalities? Loved it. Their lowkey flirty banter at the beginning of book two? I had my ass sat for what would be the most entertaining romance amid the political fantasy aspect of the series. So, well and truly, imagine my surprise when Gretchen gets whisked away in the second book, and Drew sets out on a journey to bring her back while going against every other person telling him he can't, only for the two of them to never interact again until the very last book? It felt like all the time it took for them to finally get aping and trust each other in the first back faded into insignificance, and while I love Trent I do feel like Curtis tried to replicate what Drew and Gretchen had in half the time and with a lot more exposition, because as far as I can recall, we don't see much of their time in the Dyrewood together, and are only told they eventually get over their differences and fall in love, which felt rushed and kind of...shallow? So I couldn't find myself getting too invested, if we're being honest here. (And Gretchen becoming a feral warrior ready to get her hands dirty was truly the most invested I've been in a character's development in a while, like I was cheering her on everytime she leveled up and did something badass)

Even putting ships aside for a moment, I think the biggest weakness of this series was seperating the main three (Drew, Gretchen and Hector) after the second book. While they go on to have really good arcs, and I truly do mean that, because the people they start out as and the people they end up as are such stark contrasts to each other, but still manage to be a cohesive progression of their character arcs under the circumstances, is such a phenomenal display of an author having a good understanding of their characters it makes you feel a little proud by the end, honestly - splitting those three up was a terrible decision to make. You could've had a main trio on your hands, who played off of each other incredibly well and managed to make each character interesting in their own right - I guarantee you if these books had gotten half as much reach on tumblr as they should've it would've totally been a thing.

I think I'll touch on Whitley in a separate post, because this one is already getting way too long - but these are some of my more detailed opinions, I guess? Feel free to discuss, again, I've loved seeing and hearing from the folks who interacted with the last post I made, and it makes me happy to see that the fandom is still thriving :)

Part 1

You were sent on a mission to investigate Senator Shockwave's every move by the Senate. They had suspicions him and about his ideals and made a mess of their future projects, and so you had been hired to oh, just kill him or not they did say it was your choice of course.

Your only task? Be a spy for the Senate, and investigate and report any suspicious actitude or activity from Shockwave.

You were walking, a silent shadow following him to the Museum today. Suddenly, you lost him from sight as if he just disappeared out of nowhere, You got distracted by a little sound, Where did he just go..? Shoot. You were paid to watch him and maybe kill him and not lose him.. than you see an open door, that could be where he is, phew..

hesitation hits you as you enter the door that is slightly open. As soon as you step inside, the door closes, leaving you all alone.

You see a strange and advanced laboratory. In the middle of it stands a familiar face, the one the Senate had sent you to spy.

You see him working on what appears to be a new invention, but he seems to be lost in the progress...

A long silence is present until Shockwave finally speaks up and breaks the embarrassing silence

Shockwave speaks with curiosity, and with a warm smile, he approaches you. He extends his hand and looks at you with his eyes of kindness.

"Hello! What a coincidence seeing you here! Do you need something?" He says curiously but with a happy grin on his metal faceplates

You don't know how to respond at all, so you just say what came at the edge of your processer.

"Haha... uhmm.. no? My apologies, I may have gone to the wrong room..?—"

You say embarrassingly, hiding the obvious lie in your processor. Shockwave raises his eyebrow but doesn't suspect anything yet. In a soft tone, he replies. His voice sounds friendly and easygoing, just as you heard from reports.

"I doubt there is any wrong room here. And it's alright, everyone makes mistakes, and is there anything I can help you with?"

"Well—no.."

He speaks up, questioning you. Not that you care, but you might as well just lie your way out of this, you should make it quick so he wouldn't figure out your lying..

"Are you sure there really isn't because I could help you if you need it yknow?—"

Shockwave looks at you with curiosity, and his smile remains in his faceplates, waiting for you to reply... You start to feel nervous and uneasy... But why...?

You question, he seems so different to the other senators, not corrupt or anything like that.. so how could they want him dead.., he's so kind, calm.. what the frag?? For the last 6 minutes, he got a bit worried about you not replying.

got some plot bunny inspired by a fuckton lot of dabihawks/dabishig/dabihawkshig/erasershig fic on ao3 lol

so like dabishig has this fwb things going on until probs after kamino in which shig is becoming more frantic bcs he has to be a leader for his league yknow and then hawks has his infiltration mission and shig saw how much dabihawks has the 'Tension' so he's kinda fine dabi u can deal w him however u like and they stopped being a fwb even tho there's some feelings between them but like BOTH are oblivious mofo

and then there's some canon divergence, something something happened to the league, shig found out afo def manipulate him from the beginning what with his quirk being forced upon him so shig be like fuck it i'll tear both afo and the corrupted hero esp hspc (bcs hawks slowly but surely becoming one of his people so he def need to claim hawks from hspc)

somehow someway hawks got hurt while they're in a middle of Turf War against the heroes, re-destro, and some up and coming yakuza and shig kinda gone wild and decided u know what we need help and look ua is def a institution independent from hspc i'll give everything to them as long as they help hawks and them

and like in the beginning the other league didn't want to go to the heroes at ua but their condition got worse and shig kinda fuck it i'll go to them myself if they didnt agree just get the fuck out of the country (which dabihawks got Angry and argumentative about this) and so shig met w aizawa and after a long talk they agree to some deal

and so there's some villain and vigilante rehab program and the league are one of the ppl first trying it and like they stay at ua and dabihawks (who both admitted to eo they have feelings for each others but ALSO AT THEIR BOSS) becoming more possessive w shig esp when they saw how much shig got along w aizawa which makes them both possessive and jealous while shig somehow befriended aizawa and after they slept w eo to release the tension shig kinda complain a lot about dabihawks and his (perceived) one sided attraction and aizawa is very much done w everything

and so like dabihawks plot w eo about how they're going to seduce their boss meanwhile shig in a fwb w aizawa and both complain about their one sided love (shig w dabihawks and aizawa w all might) and then after the war against both afo and hspc dabihawks kinda explode w jealousy and kinda blurted out about their feelings to shig and yeah HAPPY ENDING while aizawa laughing in the background but then shig kinda 'look you're single again now go seduce all might' while all might was there and so after a lot of drama erasermight is a go

5am rambling about Sky cause my sleep schedule is severely wack - includes personal headcannons about lore lmao- everything below the cut so you don’t get blasted with a billion words ✨

Heads up: this is not a fun silly Headcannon. It is

You’ve been warned. There is a cute little doodle at the very bottom of this to make it up to anybody who reads this tho

This mainly pertains to moth players and Eden, I came up with this after watching a few folk’s own lore videos on their sky kid’s backstories and whatnot- imagine

Yknow all the moths you’ve adopted, guided through the world and befriended in the process? Once they enter Eden, that has the potential to determine their entire fate.

The moth’s who enter Eden, with or without your help, have to make it through. One way or another. Or, they don’t. They quit halfway through because they’re too afraid, or they don’t understand what they’re meant to do. Some manage to make it through Eden, but then think that’s the end of the game. No more, no seasons, no travelling spirits, no upcoming events, nothing.

I imagine the moths who never fully make it through Eden simply just.. die, in a sense. Their light, their soul, whatever you may call it, was not strong enough to withstand the storm and they simply perish and become one of the many statues trapped there, until you eventually come for your next run and free them.

Alternatively, the ones who make it out but quit shortly after - they were corrupted in some form by Eden - namely, the same power that may or may not have corrupted Resh - the Eden elder and/or king. I have my own theories about Resh too- but that’s for another time. They don’t continue, so their light/wings don’t grow stronger. Almost like an infection, they don’t have the strength to fight off the ‘virus’ (the corruption) as time passes, they remain stagnant and the corruption chips away at them until they ‘die’.

The sky kids who’ve fallen to corruption eventually return to either the wasteland or eden. Those who find themselves in the wasteland deteriorate slowly over time, transforming into crabs or simply dying, their bodies becoming seeds for dark plants to take root. Those who end up back in Eden aren’t so fortunate to have such a peaceful end. And I’m using the term peaceful very, very lightly.

Those who returned to Eden are back in the direct line of contamination from, as stated previously, the same power that corrupted Resh - their bodies rapidly deteriorate and give out on them, their remaining light unable to stay strong enough to stave off death. They don’t remain ‘dead’ for long though, the remains mutating into dark dragons or other beings of pure darkness. They wander aimlessly, trying to find any source of light in the hopes that they can relight the fire they lost, have the hope that - as minuscule as it may be - they can return to the lands of Sky and return to their normal life. The consciousness of the child who’s been mutated remains partially intact, that’s the only reason they’re still hunting down anything that gives off warmth - but they’re not aware of what they’ve become. All they know is that they’re cold, and that other sky kids run away from them no matter what they do.

In other words, the sky kids who don’t make it through are eternally trapped, until you provide them brief respite through freeing them during your weekly/monthly/etc runs. That’s why you see them in orbit sometimes. Those who can’t or refuse to continue perish, to put it very bluntly. I imagine after a certain length of time, their remaining consciousness fades entirely and all that’s left is a monster of darkness, wandering with nothing but subjecting others to the same fate as it fell to on its mind, taking out the envy, anger, and spite that got left behind on the poor souls it finds - those that have wandered where they should never have gone.

Ngl the only reason I came up was this is cause I wanted all the players who’ve quit at Eden, before/in/after, to have a purpose. It sounds bad when I put it like that but idk how else to put it— my old account, I started just before season of dreams started and I quit the same week cause I didn’t want to go through Eden, and I was unaware there was more to the game aside from “fly through pretty world, talk to old spirit looking things, die.” I returned to the game midway through season of remembrance, and I’m very glad I did. I don’t have a lot of headcannons for lore or anything like that, but this is one of them, and as sad as it is- I like it. I love the krill, I love the dark creatures and I love the light creatures too. I feel like the dark creatures don’t get enough love sometimes and I wanted to make something dedicated to them - and, again, it’s sad, but this makes me love them even more- even if I fell asleep by accident while playing that one time and got attacked by the krill and crabs so many times that I got sent to the pity room. Meh.

Anyways, here’s a doodle of my skykid and his buddies to make you less sad 👌
