Headcanons for Urd with a mature/independent S/O

Firstly, Urd would probably prefer a S/O who’s more on the mature side and fiercely independent. Two qualities he values highly not just in a partner, but anyone he has to interact with in general.

Despite taking time off here and there to watch operas, he’s still the de facto ruler of all vampire kind, and technically the entire world in its current state. He also has all of Russia to govern, and even for someone who doesn’t need to sleep that’s a huge undertaking. He takes his own responsibilities and duties very seriously, so not having to coddle someone is a huge plus for him.

Regardless of whether his partner is human or vampire, he’s been around for a very long time, and there’s very little, hardly anything left in the world that can shake him.

Urd, being so high up on the food chain, isn’t easily cowed. At all. He’d let you lecture him on small things that are fairly inconsequential, partly for the novelty of it and because it entertains him from time to time to see you worked up. Partly because maybe he does kind of have a thing for being dominated.

However there are certain boundaries which you must not overstep. At least early on in the relationship. If you show a degree of level-headedness, he might appreciate your input on certain topics. Again, the fact that you’re quite independent and very mature helps a lot here.

I can’t say that Urd would ever feel frightened. By anyone or anything. He’s lived way too long and he’s far too powerful. For him to be afraid of someone or something, it’d have to be so earth-shattering that it would turn the very nature of his world on its head. I emphasize his because looking at the state of the world in OnS currently, he’s hardly fazed. So not just the world in general.

Unless you have some amazing power that can, idk, vaporize vampires (even a Second Progenitor) on the spot, chances of him being intimidated by you, regardless of whether you’re human or a vampire are very low.

He’s not against putting you in your place if he feels you overstep your boundaries. As patient and as tolerant compared to other vampires as he might be, he’ll still only tolerate so much.

But again, he’s not completely closed off to your suggestions or the occasional lecture. Whether he takes it to heart, depends though. If he’s in a decent mood and willing to humor you and let you take the wheel, he’s open to it and will follow your lead here and there.

Urd does somewhat enjoy these moments. As someone who everyone typically looks to for solving problems, help, advice, orders, its a refreshing breath of fresh air for someone to sit in the driver’s seat for once and take charge.

The burden of so many huge responsibilities weigh heavy on him from time to time, even if he never shows it to anyone, perhaps even to you. At least not explicitly. You can tell when he starts to grow weary and mentally tired from attending to all his duties, and watching opera as a means to relax just isn’t cutting it.

This is the perfect opportunity for you to step in and take charge, like lecturing him about his uniform being crooked or something else that’s small and easily remedied.

He might smirk and ask you to straighten it for him if it bothers you so much, enjoying your take-charge-attitude and dominance.

The fact that you aren’t meek and challenge him makes the relationship more exciting. While Urd might not appreciate unwelcome critiques about his leadership (and honestly how can you, when his territory is the most peaceful we’ve seen in OnS?) but if you criticize his taste in opera? Oh boy. Be prepared.

Urd would definitely enjoy it if you challenged him intellectually, as it provides a stimulus that’s rare but a welcome shift from the mundane boredom that all vampires experience. 

Shit talk his taste in opera? Call him a basic bitch for hosting Phantom of the Opera when you’re in bed together? That man’s never bottomed so fast in his undead life.

I try to put you in the worse mood, ah.

A/N: Urd/Sai. Part of that Saiferi I made entitled, When I’m down on my knees you’re how I pray. I just love complicated bordering on fvked up relations like this okay. And ONS is a fertile ground for me to plant my sinful headcanons without feeling guilty.

Rigr was indifferent to most things. except for one: Urd Gilles.

While half brothers and living with each other, they were not close, for Urd found him repulsive and insufferable. After spending most of their time in childhood together, Rigr was convinced he didn't really need anything else if he could have Urd by his side. However this desire turned into something bordering on obsessive. Rigr found this quite amusing because as a person who was rarely moved and interested in things, at last he had found something that could light his heart on fire.

Urd for his part could not ignore him as well. Not if Rigr announced to everyone that he would only take Olive-skinned, green-eyed and blonds as lovers. This carefree statement did not really put Urd off, but the rumors that spread after the declaration did.

"Do you think Rigr-sama is sleeping with Urd-sama?"

"I don't know! I've never seen them talk to each other. Maybe. Maybe not."

“Yeah, and Rigr-sama seem to be serious when he announces such! Have you seen how his eyes would roam right after to where Urd-sama is?"

"But they're brothers!"

"Yes, but.. they're not REALLY brothers."

“But they're still half brothers."

Urd inadvertently heard the maids whisper such unfounded rumors to each other one time. And he could only surmise what the whole kingdom must think of both of them.  What would his Father think? Something so unnatural and so immoral could not be allowed to thrive even as a mere baseless accusation, so he decided to confront Rigr.

"Rigr, we have to talk."

Rigr was not listening, he was playfully folding a paper, and was so focused that it seemed like he didn't hear Urd. But he heard him all right. Loud and clear. He just liked to tease him like this, to create an illusion of Urd chasing after him. Maybe make him beg for his attention, and if Rigr got lucky, to force him to touch him.

"Rigr!"

Voila. Urd had grabbed him by the arm and pulled him to look at him. And how Rigr had smiled! A devilish grin painted over his narrow mouth and his stern features softened.

"Stop this folly of yours! Stop announcing to everyone your preference in lovers. It makes me look bad. It will make Father look bad!"

Saitou stared at Urd hand clasped on his arm with an amused grin. Then, he placed his large hands on top of his brothers gloved hands and squeezed. He ran his thumb across the surface.

"Why?"

Urd did not really mind the gesture. He knew perfectly well that this was Rigr's means of riling him up, and he did not want to indulge him.

"Rumors have spread that we.. that we're sleeping with each other."

"Oh? But isn't that great? We did sleep with each other at one point, when you were so scared because of thunderstorm you end up getting in bed with me. You were so cute then. I wonder what happened to you to be.."

Rigr leaned in and whispered, "so uptight now?"

Urd felt shivers ran down his spine at that. He flitted his shocked eyes towards Rigr in panic. He was about to walk away to create some distance between them, but Rigr pushed him against the wall; large hands spread across Urd's heaving chest, pinioning him.

"Ah~ truly a masterpiece, you are."

"You..."

Rigr narrowed his eyes and licked his lips. He withdrew his hand and grabbed Urd's head. Urd was aghast.

"What are you.."

Eyes stern and focused, Rigr ran his thumb across Urd's left cheek to the curve of his high nose and then stopped at the mole near his right cheek. Rigr did this with such aggression and violence that Urd couldn't move because of shock.

“I really love the freckles on your face; They're like galaxies.

"I wonder where else are you filled with galaxies?"

Rigr trailed his teasing eyes slowly downwards. This caused Urd to blush a humiliating red. He slapped Rigr's arm away and stormed out of the room clutching his chest.

Rigr just stared at Urd as he walked away from him. He narrowed his eyes, and focused them on the small of Urd's back. He waited for the door to slam. As the door banged and the hinges rattled, Rigr smiled to himself and sighed,

"I try to put you in the worse mood, ah."

I might be looking too deep into this but Urd looks kind of sad here. I wonder if he cares about Krul. It seems to me that the higher rank the progenitor, the older the vampire (for example Crowley is technically a 7th progenitor and only 825 years old while Saito is a former 2nd progenitor who’s thousands of years old). Urd might have been one of the first vampires Krul ever knew since he’s one of the few vampires who’s actually older than her. Maybe they have a special connection and he is like a father to her. That would be really ironic too considering how she sees the half-Russian Mika like a son and Urd rules Russia. XD

I bet a showdown between Saito and Urd Gilles would be epic. A former second progenitor now some kind of messed up experimented monster vs an actual second progenitor. They’re the only second progenitor vampires so I bet they know each other somehow and Urd thinks of Saito as a traitor to the vampires. Their characters are basically polar opposites. What’s interesting is that the most recent novel of Guren’s LN reveals that Saito was once a second progenitor while the most recent chapter of the manga introduces Urd. Could this just be a coincidence or is there something more to this…
