ableism is shockingly common in the neopets community, especially with the release of today's chapter. it was bad enough that certain groups reacted negatively to the library faerie being a wheelchair user despite us previously never seeing the lower half of her body. but now that tavi's been revealed to have lost her leg up to the joint in a climbing accident i've seen some really nasty comments regarding it.

someone saying they "take issue with too much of our real world bleeding into our make-believe one" especially is so incredibly callous. are disabled people suddenly excluded from escapism in fantasy because this person can't stand to be taken out of their fantasy where everyone is like them?

and trying to smokescreen blatant ableism with "well i'm just worried about the creator of the design! they probably weren't asked about these changes and i'd be pretty upset if someone changed my character to be a cripple- i mean disabled!" is honestly even more pathetic. even if TNT did create new disabled characters instead of being creative with minor characters that had zero plot relevance (or even art of their lower half in the case of the library faerie), they probably wouldn't be well received by these people either. insert obligatory "you just changed/made this character to check a representation box" comment that would happen whether it was an existing character or a brand new one.

i'm honestly disgusted with this kind of response, especially given how well baelia and ozzy's mental disabilities/disorders were received. baelia was already a metaphor for a lot of things, one of which being chronic illness and disability given her inability to fly or use magic. so why is the reintroduction of two (2) physically disabled characters who had no relevance before this plot such a grievance to people?

A helluva sorry-ass trip

This is what apology tour should be called because that's what it was, mindblowingly maniacal and childish at the same time, literally WTF was that? Did two dimensions really collide like the Mandela effect theorist claimed? Have some of us shifted from an old reality of mature outlook and we need to get with it and allow ourselves to be conditioned to be in agreement with the tone of this story? Or are we just being gaslight?

Are we truly suppose to buy that Blitzø has this many exs and all of them believed themselves to be in a serious relationship with him and all of them are this hurt and this large quantity of them are willing to go way out of their way for this party?

Isn't Blitzø only in his mid to late 30s?

Wasn't he a busy and seemingly decent person living with his family circus for the first 20 or so years of his life?

Since when was Stolas his ex and why does he accept this title? Why did he feel the need to let him know about the anti Blitzø party? Where's his realisation after his sulk in the last episode where he gave Blitzø a choice but not really, the awkwardness at Ozzie's, or how their transactionship started, that this wasn't a thing?

This would be the perfect time to let us know how out of touch Stolas is, that not so deep down he's that little prince who pointed a stranger out that who he liked, then that stranger was bought to his castle for him to play with.

Near three decades later he has failed to assess that fond memory and still sees this person as his friend. He's someone who sits at home and learns ideals from dramatic tv shows, a big change from miserable, planned out life he would rather not acknowledge .

But no, that's not what we get.

Stolas tells us all the things he really want from a relationship and they're things that he could apply to anyone, totally impersonal to Blitzø.

Stolas sees romcom cliches, he's lonely, he wants what he sees for himself and Blitzø didn't live up to any standard he set, he claimed to atleast want the basics of a companionship, but for Blitzø, since when? The ambush? The few times he made doe eyes when he weren't looking?

We are supposed to make a judgement based on how pissed and miserable Stolas is and the fact that their are a bunch of like minded others, not taking into account that they all have a different story to tell yet we have plenty of Stolas x Blitzø to look back on to make a fair judgement.

Stolas is immediately flattered by the first person to make a move on him, infront of Blitzø, and they have fun together, invaldating all that the story tried to push recently. Blitzø could truly be anybody, so who at this point could watch this and still believe that Stolas is hopelessly in love?

The entire episode was yet another attempt to have us forget all we have seem of Stolas being the commanding and powerful presence who holds all the cards. Helped further by not one person giving a hoot that they're in the presence of royalty, yet agin.

Combined with yet a further attempting to give Blitzø pseudopower by reminding us that he's sexually active and outgoing.

It's clearly important that Verosika would fail to mention Blitzø stealing off her then leaving her stranded and dumped, clearly this could be a reminder that Blitzø is at the bottom of society and has had to be rutheless and maybe even a user to work his way up, but no, he was simply always 'that guy', that outgoing fun guy everyone just liked, a lowly imp that could make a sucubus fall in love and can even score royalty, but as we know, unfortunately this all now works because dispite lore being established, hierarchy means SFA.

None of this gives more power to those at the bottom or takes from those at the top, it just tells us that the classing system is a whole lot of nothing even though this also isn't the case at the same time.

The start of the episode was a perfect example of narcissistic coersion and grooming, it should be used in universities worldwide.

Place side by side the Blitzø x Stolas content from the earlier episodes, where Stolas hit up Blitzø whenever he pleased, spoke so dirty he had even Blitzø cringing, was more interested Blitzø's presence than quality time with his daughter who no longer lives with him and this all started when Stolas cornered Blitzø into sex upon him being caught stealing.

Remember these things as Stolas now tells Blitzø how inappropriate his regular and unchanged behaviour that was supposedly attractive is, he us sarcastic and gives him the silent treatment, yet will speak up to rant at him though arguments can only go one way.

Stolas's tantrum is because Blitzø didn't give him whatever answer or reaction he hoped for when he ambushed him in the previous episode with a choice but not really and he wasn't going to stick around to hear anything that didn't suit him, you know, the respectful thing to do.

Blitzø's every word is wrong, points irrelevant to their fallout are more fuel for this, he isn't heard, respect and his input doesn't matter, so he then goes on to aggressively try and to prove Stolas's criticism wrong by showing how accountable he is by apologising to those he wronged, even when it was arguably unnecessary, firmly letting us know that Blitzø is unspecifically yet definitely in the wrong.

People, if you see this as a good thing, this isn't the way.

Blitzø's accountability was not of his accord and Stolas as good as rubbed his efforts in his face by taking no notice at every stage and attending the Blitzø sucks party for ex's, which he isn't.

People, this is narcissistic abuse.

Another annoying thing was the towards the top of the list was Moxxie, but we saw nothing.

Why?

Because that would be grounds for a decent portion of time and effort as two leading characters may discuss things pivotal to the plot and their own development? A heart to heart and back to the main story? Nothing to do with sex?

Well, there's no room for all that complexity, so here's a few seconds of extras from a better time, with yuri thrown in, that will make up for all else.

Let’s talk about these two.

As many have stated before, the main conflict at the end of full moon was the miscommunication coming from both sides. We as the audience have a key advantage of being able to understand these characters in much greater detail because we are shown their actions and follow their lives. The problem with Stolas and Blitz is that their interactions are mainly focused on a once a month meeting (that revolves almost exclusively around having sex), periodically looking at each other’s pictures on social media (which is not always a great indicator who someone actually is) and some scattered meetings like loo loo land and the harvest moon festival.

All this to say the both of them have not really gotten to know each other the way we, the audience, know them. They instead, I feel, have created a version of who they think each other is and that is where the main source of their miscommunication comes from. The true heart felt feelings and the depth of understanding one another, going beyond romanticism and just who the person is at their core, is not seen on screen between these two.

Stolas has constructed a version of Blitz as a character from one of his romance novels/ soap operas and wants him to be this romantic tough guy who will come waltzing in to sweep him off his feet. He flirts with him endlessly because he thinks that’s what Blitz likes. Blitz has constructed a version of Stolas as a negative embodiment of royalty: assholes, users and abusers, classist, and just like the thrill of doing something considered taboo in their social circles. It is difficult then for these two to sometimes see and take in contradictions to those constructed versions. Stolas does not know about Blitz’s traumatic past that helps to explain a bit about why he acts the way he does and although Blitz does know a bit about Stella, he too doesn’t really know how lonely Stolas is, or the years of abuse he put up living in an arranged marriage trying to keep both himself and Via afloat, or that he just desperately wants to find someone that he can finally be his true self around.

This is why I think the turning point in all of this started the night of Ozzie’s, in particular the scene after where blitz is dropping Stolas off. We get, I believe, for the first time, Blitz being vocally and legitamitely truthful about his feelings. It’s not played as a joke, it is not in response to Stolas saying something cheeky and flirty, it is real. It is a Blitz that Stolas I don’t think has seen before. This is the start of something important, the start of some communication.

Without this event at Ozzie's happening, I believe Stolas would have continued their arrangement, loving Blitz from afar and hoping one day that Blitz will look back at him, and Blitz would have continued to “keep it light” and not change the status quo even though he was having feelings of his own.

Stolas reacts to this truthful confession by doing some intense soul searching and moving forward on the path to telling Blitz some of his own truths and finding a way to make up for wrongs he has done.

This incident at Ozzie’s was the catalyst for Stolas to begin his forward journey.

The incident at the end of Full Moon, where now it is Stolas’s turn to tell his truth (even if there were some problems with his delivery of this) is the catalyst for Blitz to begin his forward journey. To do some soul searching of his own to figure out what he actually wants and more importantly who he wants to be.

Whenever I point out how the narritive of HB is constantly overly woobifying Stolas and how Stella is so poorly written to be a pure evil-for-no-reason angry bitch to victimize Stolas,there's always someone saying ”You just cant accept that women can be abusive too! You're a toxic Stella stan aren't you? You just can't see the good in Stolas! You are making things up just for the hate!"

But actually I don't like Stella at all, I just feel sorry for her wasted potential and the injustice of her being used as a punching bag by viv and insane stolas fans.*deep sigh*

It's funny that Viv fans say that critics are making things up about the shows when, really, their the ones making things up about them. I talked about this before but - the fandom seems to a have a thing for actively trying to come up with headcanons to try and explain or excuse the show's many writting issues.

I've talked about examples before but I ended up finding another one - there was this one user on @arteicetb's video on the full moon who frequently replied on pretty much every popular comment on the video, and their comments were of them defending the writting of Stolas and Stolitz in not just the episode but the whole show.

The user made some insaine points but the ones I want to focus on is their point about Stolas' sudden transition of personality in Ozzie's and their take on the hallucianation sequence in Truth Seekers.

I'll first talk about the user's point about Stolas in Ozzie's. The user says that Stolas gradually became less and less lust driven over the course of Season 1 until Ozzie's, which fully shows his change. However, this isn't actually what happens within the show. Stolas NEVER underwent that gradual transition the user says he did, rather, he stayed the same throughout the whole season UNTIL Ozzie's where his personality underwent a sudden shift.

There was no "gradual transition" here, it was a sudden shift that was inconsistant with how the character was previously portayed.

Then there's the user's take on Blitz's hallucination in Truth Seekers, where the user says that sequence shows that Blitz has feelings for Stolas...even though it litteraly doesn't.

If you pay attention to the actual imagery of the hallucination - you'll see it blatantly shows Blitzo being CHAINED to Stolas - as in, that's how Blitz feels about the relationship, he feels like he's chained to Stolas and can't get out. The blush he makes in that scene looks more like a blush of embarassment rather than of any actual genuine affection.

The user is, essintially, making things up about what the story is presenting to the audience to make it sound smarter than it actually is - and so they can defend the show against critics despite there being clear things contridicting their intrepretations of the story.

People say we make things up to hate but they make things up about the show to defend, and that will never not be funny to me.

Loona and Octavia have had one very brief, extremely short conversation where Loona just said “get over it. At least your dad hasn’t disowned you” and via just said “okay” yet thousands of people call them “sisters??”

I actually think Loona abuses and beats Blitzø up as badly as Stella does to Stolas, including throwing objects and backhanding. But it’s funny when it happens to Blitzø??? He even does the same placating behaviour holding his hands up, that stolas did in looloo land.

If Octavia moved in with these people it would just be more domestic violence terrifying her. She looked scared when Loona kicked him after they reunited. Stolas looked worried at his injury but said nothing. As if Blitzø just deserved it?? Then stolas the shitty dad, gets a hug!? It wasn’t Blitzøs fault he didn’t see Octavia break in, or that he simply asked Loona to try at her job and not take it for granted. Then to top it off he was scared to call stolas because stolas might hurt him next. Holy shit he was mistreated terribly. With fans saying ‘that’s what you get for Ozzies’

That moment at the end though was so weird and toxic, I think it’s everything wrong with the show. Blitz and Via wrongly blamed for everything. Is women abusing men funny or not to you, show? Because just like Stella, Loona had no choice but to accept Blitzø as her dad and she has trauma. But you guys said trauma isn’t an excuse? Apologism even? With Twitter user dreamer even saying that “not believing women can physically abuse men like stolas is misogyny actually” and “Stella is the most violent person to exist” (Viv approved btw, wow) but Loona isn’t???

Octavia deserves better than Stolas, better than Loona, better than this show. So does Blitz. We all deserve better.

Thought it was about time to debut this guy!

This is my SBR OC Mr. Crowley, with his stand [Snakebite]!

Small stand explanation under the cut, as well as namesakes and lore!

Stand:

[Snakebite] is a Stand that takes the form of a mechanical snake. It allows its user to imbue one weapon at a time with venom, by attaching the Stand to the weapon. [Snakebite]’s venom causes numbness, blurry vision, and eventually paralysis and blindness. The venom is not lethal unless in large doses. It also acts as a tracking Stand. Anyone hit with [Snakebite]’s venom will become visible like a heat signature to one of the user’s eyes, which will become specialized for that purpose and not function otherwise.

If the user attaches [Snakebite] to their own body, they will be affected by the venom. [Snakebite] also detaches and reattaches very slowly, so switching weapons is not recommended. If [Snakebite] is attached to a projectile weapon (bow, gun, etc) it will poison the projectiles rather than the actual weapon.

You may be noticing that he looks a little similar to Mrs. Robinson. That’s intentional! Mr. Crowley and Mrs. Robinson are brothers. (Their parents have some weird taste in names, huh?)

My idea for his story is that he hunts people who’ve been in contact with the saint’s corpse. Sometimes he does it for money, but usually out of his own will.

The reason for this is that his mother and father were killed by a stand user mad with power, just after Mrs. Robinson was born and when Mr. Crowley was only 10. The stand user spared the children, but Mr. Crowley swore revenge.

He left his baby brother in the care of a family friend, and Mrs Robinson’s backstory continued as in canon, with him never knowing he had a brother or parents other than his new family. Meanwhile, Mr. Crowley sought out answers regarding the person with horrible powers who killed his parents.

Eventually he receives a stand and learns that his parents’ killer probably received their power from a part of the saint’s corpse, meaning he has to kill anyone who has one of those. Little does he know that the killer died a long time ago for their corpse part.

Mr. Crowley is hired by Valentine due to his reputation for never having failed a mark. Valentine intends to have him travel parallel to the race and report back often with any suspicious activity from the racers.

And then the race begins, so we’re caught up to the canon timeline! I hope this makes sense, this whole backstory is still being workshopped so it’s not final.
