The water of her bath seems to sound incredibly loud after Carlisle's announcement. She wishes to smile, to revel in the way Carlisle adores her. She wishes to tell him the same in return, but instead the bath water has become a murky brown.

That's what they don't tell you about newborns, especially when they're so new; when you tear them from limb to limb, you're bound to be covered in the blood they've recently fed on. Some of it is putrid—stale—others gifting the lingering smell of human blood. The sweet, irresistible scent of a vampire's most coveted elixir.

She's had to deal with it in her nostrils all day, her clothes stained by it. The bath water dilutes it somewhat, but even then it infuses with the steam and becomes akin to an incense.

Every time she closes her eyes she sees Bree's face and so she stares at everything and nothing.

"I know you will," she eventually replies, moving so to grab a nearby comb and pull it through blood matted curls. The rippling water distorts a reflection she refuses to look at. Instead she turns her head towards Carlisle, offering him a smile that wavers. "And I will always protect you."

"Really?" was all he could say at first, it was hard for him to believe if he was honest. He'd been missing, presumed dead, for months and come back changed, a monster, not like her family but an actual one. He caved to the hunger, he'd helped kill someone, he could never take that back. "You still... you're still interested? After everything?" he couldn't really believe it was what she meant, "If you want that, Gabby, I want that. You can be sure about that.".

what if. readerbot met Eclipse. and Eclipse, who is both Sun and Moon combined, also had both Sun and Moon's collective love for readerbot all stuffed into one big stupid silly baby brain. and what if Eclipse also had absolutely zero self control and immediately turned into a pile of big soft mushy love dovey feelings as soon as he made eye contact w readerbot. and meanwhile readerbot, who has not been clued in on the fact that Sun and Moon are both head over heels for them, was struggling hardcore to process the unstoppable stream of Eclipse's pure unbridled love being beamed directly into their brain with zero filter whatsoever. like what if tho

Anyway fun fact about my design for Ruin:

His Sun/right half on his face rarely has its eyes open because his Moon/left half has more alert eyes (ex. can zoom in, detect danger, night vision, etc.), but he only ever opens his right pair of eyes when hes relaxed or wants to analyze the situation (as his right pair can scan things) :3

This fact also applies to Sun and Moon (+Eclipse) :D!! Its always been a funky hc of mine (not really "mine" since im pretty sure this is common :>) that DCA models have facial recognition and can store large amounts of information, but Moon models tend to have extra stuff as previously mentioned in the example (Moons are just extra /silly)

Sinc Eclipse inherites a lot of things from Moon, Eclipse's lower pair of eyes have the mentioned zoom, detection, night vision, etc.. But his main eyes can only scan.

Though, this does take a lot of their battery (Eclipse and Ruin, however, can go on using it daily since they have a higher battery count), so its usually off when working hours are over. :)

Esme stands, unable to do anything but watch Jasper's thoughts flicker across his face. Amongst the burning, Esme can hear the breathing of her coven, the soft crunching of snow beneath feet as they shift, no-one wishing to approach the two in fierce disagreement. Esme can't help but hold her own breath, the decision given to Jasper not the only cause of such a reaction, but the decision of the wolves regarding Bree's safety and the impending arrival of the Volturi.

Jasper's answer releases that caught breath. Not a moment later, she takes Bree lightly by the wrist assured, from the girl's behaviour at their initial meeting, she won't try to run nor fight. The fear is still in her eyes, curling into grey clouds with every panicked breath she takes.

The only comfort comes in the diminishing sound of a crackling fire accompanied only by the lessening of the pungent smell that is burning bodies.

Esme keeps herself and Bree close, but distant enough from Jasper to ease any tension the two of them may have regarding each other. "If it comes to that, please just stay safe." It's a way to say she loves him without outright saying it. She assumes everyone in the coven knows she loves them all dearly, but Esme shows up with her love differently to meet every member's needs.

Finally, they arrive at the boundary so immaculately maintained between the wolves and her coven. She stays behind Jasper, bringing Bree to her side so that the girl does not appear hidden, thus lending herself to suspicion. Esme can hear the various twigs snapping beyond the invisible divide, see paw prints within snow that are too large to be dog prints. Falling snow obstructs beyond perfect vision, but there is breathing amongst the sound of snow flakes hitting already settled snow. They are close; only time will tell if they will help aid her coven one more time.

Jasper sifts through dozens of decisions, looking for Alice's response. Killing Bree, stashing her in the woods somewhere, calling out the Volturi on their breaking their own laws and aiding multiple other coven leaders. He has no proof, but it makes sense. There was some sort of unspoken agreement that vampires who didn't draw attention could basically do whatever they wanted. Turning mass amounts was easier before technology and social media, Victoria had failed at staying under the radar. She should have been taken out months ago. There had to be a reason no one had stepped in until now.

His own flicker of fear at the conspiracy is too distracting. He misses anything Alice feels. Neither she nor Edward give any clear indication what the right path is here-better to assume there is none. He hates this. Esme's self deprecating and dismissing her contributions will be addressed later. Jasper will ensure Carlisle knows. They'll all likely need some time to settle somehow.

He'll make sure to check on her as well. The look in her eyes her words all of it stings. Reflects everything back at him like he's ninety something, spitting out blood he can't keep down and watching Rosalie look at him with a mixture of rage and commiseration.

"Okay. Fine. Now." Jasper straightens, somehow moving and not breaking. He pivots away from both of them to where the wolves left. It could be suspicious if they were gone, but he hopes the Volturi never cared about either of them. "Our backup is...leave her with me and we'll run north for a day. You'll-you can say I went to look for stragglers." He should've kept trailing Victoria when they lost her out of state. He'd seen the direction she was going and stopped before California state lines.

I’ll write for about anyone from Twilight, though I’m more comfortable with the main cast since theres more about them in the source material! I’m open to requests, though I’m getting through them rathwr slowly due to school.

Currently, I’m only writing for Twilight, though I’m getting back into some older hyperfixations again and am considering writing for them, too :)

I’m always open to requests, and please be nice! I don’t have many hard boundaries for my writing, so despite my first two rules, feel free to request things! If I’m not comfortable with it, I’ll tell you and we can figure something else out/move on :)

I divert from cannon to make my story a bit better (esp regarding the Native American characters in Twilight). I do try to focus more on them as characters in the story so I don’t misconstrue the culture from which they were sourced, though.

Adding on to 4, if there’s something I didn’t portray right/that could be better, please let me know! Again, be kind, but I’m always open to improving my writing and my accuracy. Also, I try to comb over my work every few weeks to make sure I’m not missing any typos, but if you see some, lmk so I can fix them!

"No, you're right." he admitted, "I'm still just... adjusting." he explained, no wonder, as well: not only had Jack been though something extraordinarily traumatic, he'd also come out of that experience something completely different. Who wouldn't need an adjustment period? He refused to let himself sulk, though.

"I do?" he bolted upright? He'd completely missed what Gabriella had actually meant by what she said. Jack stood in front of the mirror only to see his eyes, crimson red, as was now usual. "Oh... I keep... I swear, sometimes, if I really focus on it, I can see them how they used to be." he admitted, "It sounds crazy, right? Vampires can't do that can they? Or the others would, right?" he rambled.

"Something's up. I can tell." Gabriella stated matter of factly, yet her tone was as gentle and kind as she concerning expression upon her face. She sat down beside Jack, brown doe eyes scanning his face as though reading him. Of course she couldn't read his mind the way Edward could (though even he mentioned he had difficultly reading Jack's mind), but she didn't need a special gift to know something was bothering him. Gabriella explained, "You have the same look in your eyes you did when you were human."

They've barely spoken the whole day. It's been another day of training, another day of sparring all for the chance to make it through the moment Victoria and her newborns make landfall in Forks.

Esme, so wrapped up in her own thoughts—terrified more about the townsfolks' lives than her own—can't help but start at Carlisle's voice. She must ensure she doesn't do that on the field; she will be dead before she knows it otherwise.

A hand comes to thread through messy curls, kiss curls framing her face having come loose from the hairband otherwise holding her hair back. A moment later, her features soften with a smile although her lingering anxiety makes it harder than usual to come by. With Carlisle, things come so easily, but not today. Not since Alice's vision and the first reports coming out of Seattle.

Eventually her hand drops so fingers can link with his. Jasper and Edward are fighting. It's easier to be honest and vulnerable when the empath and mind-reader can't pick up on said honesty and vulnerability. They don't need worry clouding their judgement, no-one does.

"And I will never go anywhere." She squeezes his hand, swallowing her impending doom down and away.

She can't know if she's being truthful. The last time he might ever see her alive is on the battlefield.

"I love you, amore mio."
