Because I just wrote this all out for a reply, I figured I'd post it for everyone's benefit who hasn't been watching. This is where everyone currently works. Feel free to add or amend if I missed something or got something wrong.
Vic works at the HIDE, which is the cafe at the HOP (Hawksford Outdoor Pursuits), which is a company Gabby owns I think at this point. I think Kim basically gifted it to her because it was Kim's. Laurel is the manager at the HIDE. Matty also works there.
The pub is still run by the Dingles. Charity and Ryan currently own it. Chas is the manager and gets to live at the pub still because the producers hate change. Marlon still works there as chef and Mary, Rhona's mother, works there as well.
Nicola and Jimmy currently run the cafe. They also co-own the B&B with Bob I believe. Jimmy co-owns Home James with Caleb.
Cain still owns the garage. Mack, Sarah and Kammy work there.
I think Mack, Matty and Ross all help out on Moira's farm.
Eric currently owns the shop. Tracy works there. And Jacob sometimes when he's not off becoming a doctor.
Belle runs take a vow now that they killed off Leyla and Suzy.
Mandy runs the salon.
Paddy, Rhona and Vanessa are still at the Vet's Surgery.
Liam and Manpreet moved the doctor's surgery to the village. John works there as a paramedic. Claudette (Charles the Vicar's mother) works there on reception.
Aaron still co-owns the scrapyard (he bought Adam's share) with Vinny.
Caleb has his shipping warehouse whatever business where Robert was trying to work. Jai, Billy and sometimes Kerry work there. And technically he daughter Steph.
I think that's everything...

I can't see this whole kidnap leading to Johns downfall just yet so I could see them going to go down the "he's lost it and delusional" angle with Robert accusing John of kidnapping and drugging him like when Andy was going off at Robert in the pub about how he killed Katie and everyone was kinda like "we believe you think that's what happened but it's not true and you need help"
Yeah something like that probably.
Though I had a feeling Rob was kind of getting through to Vic during the prison visit... but all that "goodwill" might have gone out the window with that slap last night (which was her own bloody fault really - he'd told her he'd barely coped in prison and he'd been having nightmares, don't 'sneak up' on him like that girl! damn)
And Caleb seems to understand him at least... for now... but fauxbert puts an end to that.
Ryan mentioned working with Will AND Lawrence though - so hopefully that means Robert and Mack scenes where Mack believes him.

I cannot stop thinking about this episode--and just rewatched it again tonight lol--and it's so wild to me that Robert hasn't done anything wrong right now and yet John (and Aaron since he's basically silent and non-existent here) and even Vic a bit are sort of acting like Robert's doing some awful stuff already by showing up in the pub with Caleb when John and Aaron happen to be there. So apart from the timeline confusion--he says he's been back a week, but it's the next episode to when he arrived at Aaron's ugly flat.
So basically assuming that it's been a week and he's been keeping to himself at Vic's it seems like since Bob didn't know he was back, what exactly has Robert been doing to piss John off so much? It's literally Robert just existing and it's wild to me that that's not a giant red flag to Aaron and Vic. John brings up the wedding, but for all intents and purposes, Aaron kicked Robert out and told him to leave and went back to marry John. So yeah, Robert showed up with nothing but a hope that maybe Aaron wouldn't marry John and give him and Aaron a second chance, but that didn't happen... so like what's the deal?
Not to mention John didn't say he's worried Robert's back to break them up--he says Robert's back to "bring him [John] down." Again, huge red flag Aaron cause if that's what John's worried about, more than anything else, that's weird. Surely John has nothing to hide? Nothing that an ex con would be able to suss out... let alone do anything about. The paranoia is so thick with John it must be clouding Aaron's senses cause this is not normal behavior.
#i need to shut off my brain for a bit tonight but I am not sure if I'm going to be able to#fingers crossed i can and i'll stop having random thoughts i need to get out#robert sugden#john sugden#emmerdale#chatting about emmerdale

Thoughts on Monday:
- where did Robert stay after Vic asked him to get out?
- so the vicar? Who is he? Do we like him or?
- Nicola is no longer running Home James? Why is she in the caf? Is Bob no longer there?
- I’d have watched a whole episode of Robert finding out aaron threw out his entire wardrobe and him having to pick out new clothes, picking his life back up, literally having nothing
- Robert’s contacts? They’re criminal, right?
- I like Kammy. Kammy can stay
- have you noticed how John always sort of …leans and slouches and it just looks stiff and uncomfortable. A soldier would’ve had better posture
- Caleb / Robert is a duo I want to see more of
- like Robert could just go into the pub and no one would care! Chas’ pub! Who was obviously in the back room, since Sarah just came out from talking to her… such a missed opportunity.
- I don’t care what anyone says - rob and Vic have my entire heart and I love them

I wrote some very late post- holiday Thursday/friday catch up thoughts:
- God John is a nosy freak and the worst medic (poor Eric’s problems not interesting enough!)
- John on Thursday was just nauseating from start to finish but I take my visceral hatred as good I’m actually responding to his character a bit??? Although him in the pub on Friday was very annoying, and pathetic and embarrassing etc etc.
- The writing for Robert continues to be kind of great and I’m loving this vulnerable open but still a snarky bastard Rob with hints of prison trauma just peaking over the edges. I’m just falling in love with him all over again (aaron dingle is familiar with the feeling).
- Thank god for Caleb seemingly only having had a partial plot lobotomy and speaking some truths and giving Robert a chance 🥹. I will be especially annoyed with John when he wrecks it for Robert - he was so excited bless.
- The robron looks speak for themselves what can I say. Aaron’s endless fondness for Robert will never not be my favourite thing to see. Thank you Danny 🫡
- Poor Vic I do understand why she kicked him out. That whole scene was done pretty well and I’m wondering if we will get a a full prison flashback episode? They do love giving Robert special episodes…

Aaron & John related Emmerdale Spoilers 14-18 April
Monday 14 April
The Milligan family find Steph in the middle of the woods, attempting to dig up Anthony's grave.
Realising that the soil seems undisturbed, they turn their suspicions to John and question whether Anthony is dead after all.
At the woods, Caleb is horrified when he finds Steph frantically digging at the ground where Anthony's body is said to be lying six feet under.
Thrown, the family starts to question whether John's lied about Anthony.

Tuesday 15 April
When Aaron suggests using Chas's bookings for their wedding, Aaron is dejected by John's tepid reaction to the idea. Annoyed not to have been consulted, John storms out leaving Aaron confused.
Aaron's stung by John's lukewarm reaction when he tries to discuss wedding plans with his fiancé. What's up with moody John?

Wednesday 16 April
John apologises to Aaron for yesterday's reaction about the wedding. Aaron is surprised when John seems reflective and eager to talk about his faults in the relationship.
John Sugden's got his work cut out as he tries to make it up to Aaron. With Aaron starting to tire of John's horrible moods, the medic opens up and admits to his faults.
As John admits he has problems with control, is it enough to win round Aaron? Is the wedding still on? And if so, is that wise?
Thursday 17 April
John is awkward when he is put on the spot.
More red flags pop up when Aaron starts asking John about who he wants to invite to their wedding.
When John tries to gloss over his lack of friends and family, will Aaron start to question who he's getting involved with before it's too late?

Friday 18 April
Victoria feels sorry for John. Without him knowing, she formulates a plan to contact some of John's army friends for the stag.
Aaron Dingle's all about wedding plans at the moment and it's causing problems for his fiancé John Sugden who's got a LOT to hide.
As Aaron, his best mate Mack, John and his sister Vic chat in the pub about guest lists and stag dos, the medic tries to stay in the moment, knowing his cupboard is fit to bursting with skeletons and secrets (and no doubt a load more besides).
Seemingly having forgotten how angry John got when he found her poking about in his van when he first arrived in the village, Vic vows to secretly reach out to his old army mates to see if she can cobble together a guest list for her brother.
What will she unearth when she delves into John's past?

I do wonder what job Robert will eventually get, I’m disappointed things won’t work out with Caleb but he’ll have to have something to do for plot reasons as he can’t just exist in scenes at Vic’s house and then occasionally at the pub. I’ve seen someone say it would be funny for plot reasons if he could become a mechanic again but I’m so out of touch I don’t know who owns the garage now and if they’d allow that.
I'll be honest I barely paid attention to anything that wasn't Robert today and I'm just as out of the loop as you regarding most things but I assume it's still Cain, maybe Charity is involved? I dunno, like I said I zoned out at certain points, either way hard to see the garage being an option. Is the salon still there? Let him channel his inner Bernice, gossiping while shampooing hair

Could you gif Aaron’s reactions/defending Robert in the pub scene, for example:
- “Maybe it’s best we don’t do anything [about robert]”
- “I do know how tough it can get in jail”
- His reaction to John telling Vic to tell Robert to steer clear of them
- Aaron looking annoyed/being quiet every time John said about Robert
- Aaron nodding along when Caleb is defending Rob
(Only if you want to btw no pressure!)

20th June Scene 5
Woolpack. Mary bringing over food: And here's your lunch. Everything all right? John: Yeah. Yeah. It's just Robert being back has put me right off my food. Mary: Well, maybe a good lunch will make you feel better. Vic: I get you're worrying. About Robert coming back. John: Well, can you blame us after what happened at the wedding? Vic: I guess not. But it didn't end too great for him either, did it? John: He got what he deserved. They should have thrown away the key, not let him back out. Vic: I just hope he's learnt his lesson. Robert and Caleb come into the pub. Robert: I'm getting these. Caleb: Honestly, it's on me. Robert: Hope we can join you for a drink? John: Yeah, course. If it's to say goodbye. Robert: No, actually it's to celebrate the job Caleb's just given me. Vic: That's amazing news. John: Why would you give him a job? Caleb: I turned him down at first, but he doesn't give up easy. Said he'd work the first couple of weeks for free and then I'd only have to pay him if I keep him on after that. Robert: I gave him an offer he couldn't refuse. Knew you two would wanna be the first to help me celebrate.

" ... But Another Gaining Me As An Enemy!"
Friday 12th February 2021
Part 1
Hello again folks! Hope you've all had a lovely Valentines weekend! I apologise for this post being up a bit late, it's the only time I've had to watch the episode and I of course wanted to celebrate my own Valentines Day. Anyway, I know I'm going to be a little bit behind, but if all goes to plan, I should be caught up by Thursday's episode. I just want to thank you all for being supportive and patient with me.
But not delaying it any further, let's focus on the first episode of Friday evening. Firstly lets focus on Chelsea and Lucas. The previous episode ended with Lucas threatening to kill Caleb after finding out the truth behind Chelsea setting him up. In this episode it appears as if Lucas is still eager to get back into his daughter's good books. He arrives at the house, informing both Denise and Chelsea that if she can re-book the flights to Ibiza, he's willing to go. (Even though he knows full well that it'll be for delivering drugs!) Denise seems a bit shocked and voices her concerns that he was going to go after Caleb. For a split moment I question whether Chelsea knows that Lucas is aware of her trying to set him up, but of course my question is answered much later on. After excusing himself from his visit with Denise and Chelsea, Chelsea notices her phone has gone missing, suddenly it comes to their realisation that she last had her phone when her Dad was there. He had simply took her phone, knowing her pass code and attempted to find Caleb's address. This is where Denise has to tell her daughter everything, informing her daughter that Lucas knew about the drugs but the one thing he didn't know or understand was why, but now he's found out about Caleb, in his mind, it all makes perfect sense.
However, now Chelsea realises her Dad knows anything, she finally puts him straight. She storms round to her Dad's apartment and demands to speak to him, luckily it looks as if Lucas hasn't got his hands on Caleb just yet, as each time Lucas has been round to his house, he hasn't been there, but of course that doesn't mean he's going to stop looking for him. When they get inside, Chelsea decides to be brutally honest with her Dad informing him that everything she had said and done had been lies. Even using the horrible words that it brought her sick to her stomach having to act as if she loved her Dad, but deep down she still very much hates him to the core for what he did. She explains how his actions in the past have effected her life, how everyone looks at her with dirty looks as if she's the one to blame, not him. You can tell that the truth appears to really hurt Lucas, he apologises for making his daughter's life hell and begs that if there's anything he can do to make it up to her, he will do so. To which she then responds by informing him that if he doesn't go to Ibiza and deliver the drugs as originally planned, it won't be just her life at stake but quite possibly Denise's life also. She informs him that if he leaves Caleb alone and does as he's asked, that will be the only way he'll be able to make things up to her. Now this leaves me asking whether Lucas actually will go through with delivering the drugs? What do you think? Something tells me that something is going to happen and Lucas will be caught red-handed and sent back to jail. What do you guys think? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

The next thing I need to talk about kind of entwines two families, Mick, Linda, Jack and Max. So the first time we see the Carter couple, of course they are still fretting about Tina, even after hearing from Shirley that she's not had any luck in locating their sister, they still cling onto the hope that eventually Tina will be found. Also, it looks as if Mick is slowly getting back to some form or normality after revealing everything to his wife over Christmas/New Year. Today however looks as if he'll be going back to the police station to review his statement. Whilst the Carter's have this going on in their lives, it looks as if Max is visibly struggling. Jack has been concerned about his brother after learning that he had a visit from a clairvoyant the previous day, he voices his concerns to Rainie, but of course she seems to take everything as a joke and just belittles Max, stating that she's not surprised how much of a down spiral he's taken after everything that happened with Linda. Realising that speaking to Rainie isn't going to make things better, Jack leaves and eventually finds himself back at the police station, as he chats with a fellow colleague about the type of day they're having, his colleague informs that he's dealing with a child sex abuse case - only when another police officer enters the room, from the hallway Jack sees Mick sitting in the room, which of course answers so many questions. He's visibly shocked by seeing his friend and finding out what he knows, but somehow this may be able to put Max's mind at rest.
After hearing Jack's concerns, it looks as if Rainie takes it upon herself to check on her ex-husband. She happens to mention that him losing his wife and having many failed relationships, as well as losing two children and the others living elsewhere, it's no wonder he's having an emotional breakdown. She suggests keeping Abi for one extra night, just to help him out. Later on in the episode, unfortunately, Max has drunk himself to oblivion. He's clearly feeling lost, depressed maybe, Jack manages to find his brother before he causes harm to himself or anyone else, its then when he's convinced his brother to back inside that Max opens up about how he's feeling. Losing Linda seems to have tipped him over the edge, he confesses that he actually loved Linda and still can't understand why she would choose Mick over him. It looks as if Jack is finding it hard seeing his brother struggling so much the way he is, perhaps it wasn't for him to tell, but I personally believe he informed Max out of concern for his brother. He drops the bombshell that it wasn't because him that Linda ended things, to which Max looks really confused, as if he knows his brother is hiding something from him. Jack reveals to his brother that the main reason Linda chose to stay with Mick was because Mick was sexually abused, and she chose to stand beside her husband. Now part of me believes that Jack had no right to inform Max about the Carter's personal life, regardless whether he had sworn Max to secrecy. The way things are going, it's only going to be a matter of time before the whole Square knows about Mick. Of course they'll be sympathetic, but that is something that Mick never wanted, he never wanted to be the subject gossip of the Square, he didn't want people's sympathy, he doesn't want people looking at him differently, as a victim. The only thing I think now is that Max is probably going to fight even more to get Linda back, now he knows the truth, but it will only make Linda more suspicious, and when she realises both Jack and Max know about her husband, she's going to flip!! Will Mick's secret be safe? What does this mean for Max now? Is he going to fight for the woman he loves? What do you guys think?! Please feel free to let me know what you think.
--
The final thing I need to mention is Sharon. The episode begins with Sharon being woke by horrendous banging, of course she's only going to act as anyone else would, on edge and grabs something to defend herself with. As she opens the door she sees two work men carrying huge boxes, looking as if they're either delivering things of simply packing belongings away. They reveal that it actually turned out to be Kathy who hired them to remove her belongings. Kathy is a worried Mother, lashing out as her new daughter-in-law, believing that Sharon knows more about Ian's disappearance than she's letting on. As much as Sharon still tries to defend herself, Kathy is desperate for answers on the whereabouts of her son. Interestingly, when Kathy and Sharon continue to argue in the Vic, a solicitor turns up out of the blue, informing Sharon that she has documents to sign. But the most interesting piece of information she gives is that Ian is actually her client, and as of the previous day he was alive - much to Kathy's shock. She pleads for the solicitor to share any news, a phone number or address for her son, but of course under client confidentiality, she's unable to give her the information she's desperately after. Looking at the documentation, Sharon reveals that Ian has decides to annual their marriage - which to be fair, was to be expected, but the the next big shock is that he has also signed the Queen Vic over into her name. Sharon is now legally the owner of the Queen Vic! Of course, these leaves Kathy reeling, claiming that Sharon now has everything she's ever wanted and it's all because of her son! Part of me does feel sorry for Sharon at this point, okay she did try to kill Ian by poisoning him, but she still has no idea where he's disappeared to. I feel for Kathy also, as learning that her son was poisoned by his wife and now he's vanished, who else would be to blame?! But it may look that Sharon won't be in the Vic for long.
Later on, Mick and Linda are both sat in the Vic, Linda looks over at the bar at her ex-friend and can't seem to understand why she is looking so cheery. She overhears Karen mention that Sharon is celebrating something - Linda is curious as to what exactly she has to be celebrating over. She suggests to her husband to pick up a takeaway for them and informs him she'll meet him at home. As Mick agrees and leaves the pub, Linda approaches the bar. Sharon is happy to see Linda, it looks as if she's wanting to get their friendship back on track, even though Linda can't forgive her friend for framing Tina for Ian's attack. Sharon pleads that if there was anything she could do to make up for it, she would. It's then Linda drops the big bombshell, as she swoons over the Queen Vic bust, she informs Sharon to sell the pub back to her family - hinting that it'll be the only way to make up for what she's done. At first, Sharon seems very reluctant, especially considering that it's been finally been made legal in her name, the last thing she wants to do is lose it. But Linda blackmails her, if she doesn't sell the Vic over to the Carter's, she will go to the police and not only tell them what Sharon told her, but she'll also drop Phil into it also, as the police have been wanting to get their hands on Phil Mitchell for a very long time.
It looks as if Sharon has a big decision to make, she has been backed into a corner and knows that there's possibly no way out, other than selling the pub back to Mick and Linda. She wouldn't really want Phil to go down for something she was also involved in, would she? Her relationship, connection, history - whatever you want to call it - with Phil is far too strong for her to turn her back on him. What will happen next? I know you guys are fully aware, but I am super excited to find out what happens next. I'll be posting part 2 tomorrow. The way this week is turning out, there's possibly going to be a post every day this week! I know this post is a bit long and I apologise for rambling a bit. I hope you've all enjoyed reading. Please feel free to leave me a comment or a send me message about the soap and where the current storylines could be heading, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Enjoy the rest of your day folks and I'll be back tomorrow with Part 2! Love you all xXx

Episode Thoughts…
It’s so nice to have Robert back in the village. Now if only everyone else would think so. What the fuck Bob?
I really do like getting to see a more vulnerable Robert. It’s not something we always got to see a ton of before so I hope they really explore it this time. It seems like they will.
It’s interesting watching him switch between trying to put up that front and then just dropping it all. Like he puts on his happy fake smile to talk to ungrateful Bob and a little bit Vic and then as soon as she walks away his face falls. And then obviously with Caleb he’s all Mr Business man until Caleb tells him he knows exactly who he is and then he drops all the pretense and is just honestly begging for a chance. Ryan’s playing it really well.
Speaking of Caleb, thanks for not being a hypocrite for a minute. It was so nice to hear someone defend Robert. Can he keep doing that? Cause yeah, killing your sister’s rapist is something they should all understand. I know John’s going to get to him next week but it was nice to hear today at any rate.
That little swagger with the arms and everything when Robert walked into the pub kind of reminded me of the Robron/Vanity dinner back in the day I think.
Loved that little eyebrow raise at Aaron. And all of Aaron’s facial expressions. Him trying to say he knows what it’s like in jail in his softer voice before he switch back to no he can’t be around us. His nodding and fond looks at Robert having a little win there. Keep it up Danny.
John…ugh. Haha. He’s just so bothered. It’s actually very funny. But I do hate that he just keeps speaking for the both of them.
Also I like that Aaron’s plan to deal with Robert when talking to John was just to do nothing. Haha. He wants him there, he just can’t say it.
The nightmare at the end was really interesting with the overlay of the prison sounds. It does kind of make me feel like we might get a proper flashback at some point. I would like that. Still hoping everyone’s theories about sexual assault will stay as theories because that’s just the last thing I want and the last thing the show needs right now. The nightmare sounds didn’t sound like that either so 🤞
Wish Vic hadn’t thrown him out immediately. I know she was in shock but it was a little harsh. He obviously was horrified he did it.
Overall, really good episode for him. I can’t wait to see more. I love having him back.

Episode Thoughts…
Favorite part of this episode was just seeing Vic get to be on Robert’s side. And he was so grateful to actually have someone in his corner because he was so ready to just leave and he forced to deal with it on his own and then there she is telling him to stay.
His little “thanks for standing by me” broke my heart because he’s so not used to that and especially not now. 😭
And their hug. 🥰
I was nervous for a second when he started talking about the most recent attack that they were going to make this all about that so I was relieved in a horrible way that it was more than that because I really want them to dig into what he went through in there the last six years.
Let’s have a special therapy episode with prison flashbacks for him. That would be good. He deserves it.
But no it was good seeing him say he would think about therapy and Vic bringing it up in the first place.
It’s interesting seeing this version of Robert. It’s sad to see all of his confidence and bravado kind of stripped away but also kind of nice aside from how he ended up this way. And that confidence is still there in certain ways. He knows he can do the job for Caleb but he’s also just so eager, not to prove himself so much, but just to do a good job. He just wants to make the best fresh start he can. Even seeing him admit to Jai that he was struggling a bit because things had changed while he was inside. Old Robert never would have done that.
So fuck John for taking all that away from him. I hope Caleb realizes him blackmailing him over this is at least a little bit of a red flag. Also Caleb should hire him back at some point because you could tell he really didn’t want to fire him. Again…fuck you John.
I want Jai and Robert to be friends. I love that Jai is just so thrilled at the idea of someone being more of a village pariah than he is. But he needs to join with him instead of putting him down to make himself feel better.
The end bit with Vic breaking up the fight and telling John they’d be done if he called the cops made me very happy. I’m so glad she gets to back the right brother finally. And I want to see John spiral more.
Robert is just there trying to get on with his life, get a job and do it well and make a fresh start. Other than like being in the pub at the same time as them the other day and showing up at the flat for two seconds, he literally hasn’t done anything and it’s not his fault if Aaron can’t keep his eyes off of him whenever he’s in the room. Haha. John is so threatened. I mean he should be but also buddy, you clearly have no confidence in your new husband.
So bothered by Robert he isn’t even inserting himself into the Nate story right now. I wonder if Tracy thinks it’s weird he suddenly stopped being there for her.

Someone pointed out that some of the villagers had a meeting in the pub to decide whether or not to kill Lydia’s rapist. But somehow, what Robert did to Vic’s is oh so terrible. I hope when Robron reunite, this collective plot behavior is lifted and people actually praise Robert for what he did.
No they had a lock in at the pub to figure out who had killed him and it ended up being a horse. The less said about that whole plot the better.
But, Caleb, Ruby, Aaron, John, Cain, Chas, Moira and Steph and also Joe are involved in a cover up of Ruby killing her rapist father.
So like...everyone's a hypocrite.
I would wager that people like Chas etc, the family are far more angry at Robert for making Aaron sad when he cut him off and wanting him not to screw up what he has with Hero John now he's back because they feel like Aaron has finally moved on, which is understandable if Aaron was actually happy and John wasn't a psycho. But Plot Blindness is a thing sadly.
But yeah no they're still hypocrites because Chas has also definitely said she was glad Robert did what he did in letting Aaron go but also that's why she's annoyed he's back.
But random people like Bob acting like he's some violent menace to society is just dumb.
And obviously John couldn't care less that Robert is a "killer" considering he also is one. He just wants Robert gone so he can keep Aaron to himself and keep him worshiping him as a hero.

One of the problems is it looks like they don’t build on what they have anymore. I know from when I watched that storylines branched out and created more storylines, just from consequences and reactions and such. Looks like they just keep starting new storylines which aren’t connected or are just not organic feeling
That's definitely part of it I feel like. I also feel like even when they do try and create stories from consequences, everything just feels very contrived. Obviously everything is contrived because they're crafting the story but these stories you can feel the pieces moving and you're like "well that obviously happened so that this could happen" even if it doesn't make much sense.
In the case of John and Aaron for example, they had to have John randomly drive off with Aaron's stuff after their road side hook up just so that Vic would have to drive Eric to the funeral so they could meet. There were so many more ways they could have met that would have felt less ridiculous because there was just no reason for John to drive off with his stuff. It only happened for Plot.
Or the stupid bull thing. Yeah it was for the sake of Moira's brain tumor plot but the Mack and John of it all was born out of the nonsensical animosity they created between them because of the aforementioned driving off with Aaron's stuff. They just went through so much trouble contriving things for them to hook up when it would have worked a lot better if they'd just connected over something...anything. Instead it was like "wait...why is this even happening. This makes no sense."
Compare that to Aaron already being involved in the chop shop with Ross and Charity and doing so for the sake of getting money for him and Adam to use after prison, completely separate stories that had proper motivations for all involved and their own consequences and Robert coming into the show with issues with Lawrence and struggling to get him to give him the Home Farm job over Nicola. So it made sense that Ross would steal a flash car. It made sense that Aaron was there. It made sense that Ross would try and bargain his way out of it. It made sense that Robert would concoct his plan to manipulate Chrissy and Lawrence because that's who he is and this was his situation. So yes, lots of things had to be in place for Aaron and Robert to meet but they didn't all just happen out of the blue just for the sake of a meeting. They all worked within layers of their own stories.
I also always use the run up to Aaron's abuse story as a great example of stories building on each other. You had everything with Robert that went on for 9 months or so that led to Who Shot Robert, which led to Chas's PTSD, which led to her stabbing Diane, which led to her cancer diagnosis, which led to her getting treatment and meeting Gordon who was finishing up his treatment. It also led to Diane wanting to sell her half of the pub and Robert wanting to buy it to get closer to Aaron again after his brush with death and starting to come to terms with his feelings for Aaron and his sexuality. And Gordon't initial way in was trying to give Aaron money to buy it instead of Robert. It all just layers together so well. Plus they did a great job with the Gordon retcon in general. They made it make sense for Aaron.
I'm not really watching but I feel like this Ruby stuff with her father that's probably going to go down a similar route just doesn't set up as nicely. I mean sure there's the difference with Aaron being a character with proper history so I guess everything is going to come out of nowhere for Ruby a little bit. But it just never feels like they think about the new characters enough to plan for this stuff. Even if they do, it doesn't feel like it. And with Ruby it goes back to before she even showed up because everything with Nicky and Caleb to do with her never made any damn sense. She was broke and they were separated and she needed money and Caleb was broke but also he wasn't and then she showed up and now they're together again and it was always unclear that they even had any more kids but now they've got an estranged one cause...sure...because Nicky's gone and they needed a kid. And then they came up with all of this stuff with her parents that just don't really necessarily feel baked into the character from the start or from before with Nicky and Caleb. And if they had real forethought about these characters, they might have just had plans to bring in Caleb's whole family as part of that story instead of brining people in randomly after the fact. Like Ruby should have been there in the aftermath of Nicky and the wedding. But she didn't show up for months afterwards.
Things are just not well thought out anymore. And you can see them scrambling.

Sorry to ask but is this John a fake Sugden really a killer like it's done that he's now bad and it can not end well for Aaron and him or they can still redeem him. Is he BAD that has to die or get jail time?
I'm not even watching but I need to know and try to undertand WTF that shadow of Aaron Dingle and fucking ass Victoria are being besties and talking about this guy as he was something good. When all my dash has told me is that he had not real sl involving anything but fucking A and having one ugly expresion.
How bad is that Aaron Dingle that is on the show. Like I want Robert to comeback and do not give a fuck about him anymore be like vanity who seem like they were never married make A fight for Robert please make him explain why he was okay with marrying Robert's lost brother. Make it make sense. 😭😭😭
John is (as far as we know now) a real Sugden... not that it makes any difference to the story but I digress.
He is definitely not redeemable - he killed Nate, put his army buddy/lover in a coma (not confirmed but very likely), swapped his and Jacob's coffees so Jacob would get the almond milk one - when he's got a nut allergy - so John could save the day and save him, he swapped out Chas' pain meds with stronger ones so she'd pass out and he could play the hero, he framed Ella for the pills and the stalking (throwing a brick through a window in the pub, cancelling Chas and Liam's wedding by pretending to send an email as Liam) and he says he buried anthony's body - but won't tell anyone where.
But his and Aaron's epic romance was basically - they met on a dating app, arranged to meet up for a hook up, for reasons i don't remember they ended up meeting in robron's layby and fucking in John's stupid van, and then john took off with Aaron's wallet and hoodie. He rocked up in the village because said stupid van broke down - and to give aaron his stuff back (I think), then vic threw herself at him because omg FAMILY. He was a bitch to her and to Aaron - but that's Aaron's thing so they fucked about it.
Then Vic found out and told Aaron john was a sugden, Aaron had a .02 second break down over it where he wanted nothing to do with john anymore - but then john said "i know you want me" and saved his life after calling the police on an illegal fight - and Aaron was so grateful that he basically asked him to move in right away.
john took aaron camping in december and told him about his ex lover in the army and kind of nagged Aaron until he told him he loved him.
They got caught up in the Ruby/Caleb murder mystery thing a bit - but only on the sidelines.
Then chas and liam got engaged and Liam announced their engagement in the pub, they had a party and john proposed to Aaron in the least romantic way possible.
And now they're full steam ahead to the wedding of the year (when their epic love story has had 0 focus and they've only known each other since August last year) and Aaron is constantly declaring his love for him - so you know it's all going to go to shit.
TLDR: John is a real Sugden, a killer, not redeemable, and it's going to end in tears for Aaron sooner or later.
