Hi I read your tags and I’m glad someone agrees with me about Blue and Lisa being similar! I’m actually thinking about writing an au where Blue is Lisa and Noah is the Creature, Orla as Taffy like you said, possibly Henry as Lit Mag bro? Was thinking I could make Neeve the Janet / have her be Orla’s mom instead of Jimmi and it could play off themes similar to Blue in BLLB when she’s dealing with feeling abandoned by Maura but a more concrete version of that grief, Gansey doesn’t really fit any of the chars (I did temporarily think about making him Creature but I just think dynamically Noah will work better for that) so I’m debating between having past Bluesey so she’s mourning her mom and him or leaving it out and just focusing on Blue x Noah I kind of don’t have anyone to bounce ideas off of for this (also I watched the movie three days ago and adored it so thoughts are a jumble!) so wondered what you thought lol
DUDE I’m so glad someone else hopped in on this train (one passenger. it was me) THIS AU IDEA IS SO GOOD..i had gone the Basic route and was blueseyfying it but Creature Noah makes so much senseā˜¹ļøā€¦both forgotten and abandoned then remembered and loved. yeah you’re cooking for sure!!!! this is making me want to rewatch LF which i should’ve done in the first place cause i’m clearly not done eyeballing them under a magnifying glass lmao. i actually need to reread trc too who am I kidding… anyways i’m fully on board with this idea. seated in first class even…TAKE THE WHEEL

I was quietly working on two new items for my shop Strange One. in Second Life, inspired by the movie Lisa Frankenstein šŸ„¹šŸ’œāœØ I did my own spin on the bench from the end of the movie (complete with book and pose) I added a plaque with a quote from the poem by Percy Shelley, and Lisa's tombstone! I actually started making them for myself because no one else has so far inworld, but then I thought maybe others would like them so here they are! I have set them up on sale at the Strange One mainstore for 99L each for the upcoming Sugar Spooky Mainstore Crawl from October 1st to November 1st! I've never made furniture/decor before for the store so it's a first for me! šŸ„¹šŸ’œ I'll have them set to regular price after the event is over~ There is also free candy if you want some! šŸŽƒšŸ’œ š“£š“Ŗš”š“²: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Wavepaw/83/87/61

twig faq to answer all of the asks i got regarding my liveblog
Q: holy shit twig turned out bad huh A: yeah
Q: should i read twig? A: no. it's bad
Q: what about the parts of twig that were good though? i noticed that there were parts of twig that seemed awesome before everything suddenly exploded A: okay let me elaborate. the first ~13 arcs of twig are really really endearing when they're focusing on the lambs. when they're being about the lambs, they range anywhere from "cute" to "extremely fun" to "genuinely super compelling" to "shit that made me cry (positive)." we have high points such as:
12yo sylvester lambsbridge fumbles 3 people with crushes on him harder than anyone's ever fumbled in their life in the span of like 7 hours maximum
sylvester lambsbridge does transhet biopunk brokeback mountain
wildbow writes rose thorburn but if she were a hardass trans girl (she's the one doing transhet biopunk brokeback mountain with sy)
gordon dies and lillian copes by taking some of sy's drug that gives him turbo-adhd
helen is there
sylvester lambsbridge experiences what i earnestly believe to be one of the cruelest things wildbow has ever done to any of his protagonists
lots of other stuff, i'm abbreviating here
but the reason i say the first ~13 arcs of twig are good when they're focusing on the lambs is that twig is prone to slogging, strikingly mediocre fight scenes--sy can't fight for Shit, but wildbow still insists on describing, like, sylvester trying & failing to hit someone with a wooden plank with the same gratuitous, lengthy detail as taylor inventing a spider-based saw trap for someone. and unlike the spider-based saw trap, it's not interesting to read about. the arcs take an episodic format, and what this means is that virtually every arc goes on way too long, contains at minimum 40% more tediously detailed fight scenes than are actually necessary, and then leaves you feeling jarred when wildbow inevitably timeskips to the next arc just as the prior one was really getting into the emotional swing of things. i also have a (quite possibly subjective?) sense that twig wasn't as well-developed and thought-out as, e.g., pact, and oftentimes the setting conceit (1900s biopunk frankenstein-y british empire) doesn't feel like it's hitting quite as hard as it should.
for all of these reasons, i wouldn't have rated the first ~13 arcs of twig any more generously than in the 3.5-4 star range while i was reading them, but that's still an overall rating of good. i wouldn't still be thinking about some of the things from the first ~13 arcs of twig if they weren't overall good. if all of twig was the same quality as the first ~13 arcs, i would recommend it to people who i feel like could tolerate the pacing issues & would feel reading about the lambs was worth it.
but. BUT. BUT-
Q: so, twig turns out really bad, huh? what went wrong? A:
it is not all the same quality as the first 13 arcs. it turns out really bad the last 7 arcs are actually atrocious
the first thing that comes to mind if you ask me "what went wrong with twig" is that wildbow tries to write a trans woman as one of the main characters, and he does it badly. miss jessie ewesmont, my new favorite girl whom we need to get the fuck out of a wildbow novel. i think she was written extremely well--and in fact one of the top 2 characters in the book--prior to wildbow trying to handle her coming out. i'd even say the foreshadowing for it was perfectly well done and enjoyable. but after she comes out, during the last 7 arcs of the book?
you know how trans women are often victims of being treated as undervalued, disposable girlfriends, who are expected to coddle & cater to their partner's every whim while receiving effectively nothing in return? and you know how trans women are often treated as if they should be grateful for receiving (what is often less than) the literal bare minimum? and you know how trans women are frequently treated as if it's completely implausible for anyone to find them genuinely attracted or desirable, let alone worth pursuing or putting effort into?
yeah, the last 7 arcs of twig contain untold tens of thousands of words of wildbow reinventing all of that from first principles. this is a subjective experience, but it genuinely felt worse to read than amy dallon. at one point, the Disposable Trans Girlfriend in question literally says "i appreciate you not killing me" after she gets stabbed in her sleep by her boyfriend, sylvester. it's beyond parody. i've never said "WE HAVE TO HIT WILDBOW WITH HAMMERS" more in my goddamned life than while reading the last 7 arcs of twig. Transmisogyny Fucking City. it's a completely unforgivable and miserable reading experience.
and speaking of unforgivable and miserable reading experiences involving bigoted handling of a main character...onto Item No. 2 on the list of writing decisions that ruin twig! the ableism.
wildbow wants all of the lambs to--due to being ill-fated human experiments--have set expiration dates. one of the Main Points hanging over the entire narrative of twig is that every single lamb is, in all likelihood, going to die of complications from the way they've been experimented on before they're even twenty. two of them do die from those complications before the story is even halfway over: jamie's entire mind & sense of being is regularly taken out of his body, and one day, the doctors can't get it back in. gordon is a ~15yo with the heart problems of an elderly man, and they kill him while he's still young enough to make one of his last acts begging to see his dog one last time. it's good. it's tragic, it's interesting.
the problem is that wildbow's decision for how to depict sylvester starting to experience end-stage complications is to...turn sy into an ableist horror movie trope villain. sy hears The Devil telling him to kill his friends, and he just fuckin' blacks out and then comes to like "oh no...what's all this blood on my hands." i'm talking "mental illness is a Demon that can Possess You and make you an Evil Serial Killer" levels of ableist writing. like wildbow straight up turns sy into the joker from the movie joker. it's like that one "insaaaaynenene....assyyylum..... cray-ay-zeee...Insaayne" tiktok, you know the one. it's why he stabs his disposable trans girlfriend.
and it's baffling because: 1. wildbow wrote worm. you'd expect better from him when it comes to writing mental illness. but his skills apparently stop short of being able to depict a character with psychosis without making it cartoonishly ableist. but also, 2., sy doesn't only start becoming mentally ill at the end of arc 13! the previous arcs do very clearly establish that he's extremely codependent with the other lambs and needs continuous support to avoid experiencing life-threatening mental health episodes. he experiences dissociation, he struggles with severe memory loss, he acts erratically, he has self-injurious tendencies, he hallucinates, he talks to himself in public. prior to the start of arc 14, all of that is written with perfectly amenable levels of nuance and empathy towards sy. i wouldn't describe it as glowing representation, or anything, but it's by no means egregious.
but after arc 13? change of plans. now he's the joker from the movie joker, and we have to watch while his friends chain him to an armchair so he doesn't go around randomly cutting peoples hands off in a murderous fugue state.
it's bad. it's extremely bad to read.
the third item regarding how/why twig becomes terrible is a lot more simple to summarize: it becomes almost entirely about the previously mentioned sloggy fight scenes as opposed to about the lambs. and when it is about the lambs, it's often terrible to read anyway, due to the aforementioned issues with the handling of protagonist sylvester lambsbridge and his disposable trans gf. the plot becomes incoherent and uninteresting to the point where it's not even worth the effort of attempting to summarize how or why. everything that made twig good more or less entirely disappears from the story, and things that make it fucking awful are added.
Q: okay but lets say i have something unfixably wrong with me and i want to read twig anyway. wheres the best stopping point? arc 13? A: yeah it's arc 13. it's not a satisfying stopping point at all though. nor is the rest of twig prior to it really worth it. just don't waste your time. go read a good book, like pact, instead
Q: what the fuck is up with helen? A: :)

Neoreviews for the Skeith?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Out of the four (4) dragon Neopets we have, I gotta say, the Skeith might just be my favorite. It's not my favorite aesthetically as it's fairly underwhelming compared to something like the Draik—no real markings makes the body very plain–but what it lacks in design it makes up for in personality. Skeiths instantly stick out as one of the heaviest Neopets, and have a gluttonous, lazy personality to match (they can even eat non-food items on the site itself). They're like the personifications of the greedy, princess-eating parts of dragons, and I love it.
In terms of design Skeiths are fairly straightforward. Outside being fat, the main thing that stands out are their noses; while the majority of their features are standard dragon ones, they unexpectedly have an almost dog-like nose, making them feel like the pug equivalent of dragons. It's honestly great, and I just wish the rest of the design had more interesting twists like that. That said, there's nothing wrong with what what we got, either.
Tumblr media
Customization-wise, I honestly can't decide if they came out on top or not. The design itself remained virtually unchanged aside from larger tail spikes, but the pose changed drastically, going from quadrupedal to bipedal. I don't mind them being bipedal necessarily, but at the same time them being quadrupedal really made them stand out among the other three bipedal dragons. I also think the super plain design works better when they're quadrupedal, as there's more focus on the yellow accents and less focus on the unmarked stomach area. Also, one fist is bad enough, but two is right out.
Favorite Colours:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Royal: I talked about these guys once before, but these are just great designs. The Queen of Hearts design for the royal girl is just so fun, and it looks great visually with the white base and yellow/red accents. I also appreciate that both designs are good and feel equal, unlike some royal pets where one design is clearly better than the other.
Tumblr media
Biscuit: Biscuit tends to be one of the more boring Neopet colours, so it's really surprising that the biscuit Skeith is so good. Not only does it have beautiful shading and great texturing, with gooey chocolate chip spikes and a nice crumbly cookie base, but they went the extra mile by making it so it took a bite out of its own arm in boredom/hunger. It's just perfect for the species and it even comes complete with crumbs on the chin. I don't know why they went so unnecessarily hard on a biscuit pet of all things, but pop off I guess.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Halloween: Another one that just fits the species perfectly. The Frankenstein's monster look is great and reads really clearly, with a nice alternating tan and green palette that break up the Skeith's normally solid-colored body. The only thing is that I'm not sure if I like the clothes (a shirt and shoes but no pants just feels weird), but those are optional wearables anyway so it doesn't really matter. Also the underside of the wing probably should've been tan, but that isn't a big deal either.

So Samus Aran started life as a normal human, but didn't remain such for very long. The chozo altered her significantly to allow her to survive on Zebus. So she's at least part Chozo.
A bit later in the timeline, Samus is corrupted by phazon, a substance known to cause radical mutations. She was cleansed of the corruption, but it ran deep - surely there is left over damage or changes of some kind.
Later on Samus is infected by the X parasite and saved with the metroid vaccine, which made her part metroid and fused her to her regenerating and self modifying power suit. With the power suit being part of her body and her new ability to absorb X, she is now capable of mutating her body to take on the traits of the mimic form of any X parasite she consumes.
In total, it is canon that Samus has been modified, corrupted, fused with, or absorbed and taken on traits of a minimum of 15 non humanoid things, ranging from artifical bio weapons to mechanical armor to a literal dragon. If you wanted to, you could also claim every every minor X mimic Samus has ever absorbed. This means that virtually any set of inhuman traits you might care to give Samus on top of her base form of a beautiful woman is entirely justified by the fact that she is a genetic Frankenstein and actively mutating freak of science.
All of this is to say I feel that fandom has not adequately explored Samas' potential in the realm of monsterfucking. Everyone always makes Samus a tall and buff but more or less human character. Give me Samus with tentacles and a two foot long prehensile tounge. Give her mouth that splits her face in half or hotns or wings or claws. Make her unsettling inhuman. This is what I want to see.

Crazy Theory #2 – Wonder's True Identity
Hi again! I’m the one who previously theorized that Wonder’s true identity remains a mystery, and I’m back with more ideas.
1. The Stars
1.1 Red Stars
I went back and checked P5R and P5S—only in P5X do we see a recurring red star symbol. (Okay, technically P5T has it too.) It shows up in the UI, level up screens, and even behindĀ player’s avatar. It contrasts with the black stars frequently associated with Joker .
If black stars = Joker, then red stars = Wonder.
1.2 Stars and Mythology
Greek mythology and astronomy are deeply intertwined—many constellations and celestial terms in the northern hemisphere are named after Greek myths. This aligns with the fact that P3 and P5X use Greek mythological figures for their Personas.
Take Wonder’s Velvet Room attendant: Merope. She’s not just the wife of Sisyphus in myth—she’s also one of the Pleiades (Seven Sisters), a faint star in the Taurus constellation.
1.3 Stars and Fate
Many P5X items are named after stars or cosmic imagery. One in particular, called ā€œFinal Refrain of the Cosmosā€, references the reversal of a star chart, possibly as a metaphor for Wonder’s destiny.
Even if it’s just poetic, the star motif is so deeply embedded in P5X that it feels deliberate, not decorative.
1.4 With The Stars and Us
Stars have always been a part of Persona 5’s aesthetic—UI elements, backgrounds, and even the names of spin-offs like Dancing in Starlight or the credits theme With the Stars and Us.
But oddly, stars are rarely addressed within the story itself. P5X, as a follow-up title, inherits this motif—but here, stars are no longer just visual symbols. Their names and descriptions now appear in lore-heavy items, possibly containing clues about Wonder’s true nature.
2. The Ocean
2.1 The Bottom of The Sea
The Velvet Room reflects the psyche of its guest. Unlike previous games where the Velvet Room had no defined location, in P5X, Igor clearly says Wonder’s room is deep beneath the Sea of Souls.
But this Sea of Souls feels… strange.
In P1, the the Sea of SoulsĀ looks like an infinite void scattered with glowing stars—more like outer space than an actual sea.
So—where exactly is Wonder?
2.2 Reflections
The opening animation of P5X features underwater light ripple effects. In one scene, Wonder fall into a distorted city, rippling like water.
It feels as if both Wonder and the world he inhabits are submerged.
2.3 The Trial
The Velvet Room’s ā€œSea of Soulsā€ challenge gives a reward called Stardust. Oddly, this has little to do with the sea—but everything to do with stars.
Stardust refers to cosmic dust scattered throughout space, formed during the Big Bang, and often carried to Earth by comets or meteors.
3. Desire
Desire is a central theme in both P5 and P5X. The tagline for P5X is literally: ā€œTake back your desire.ā€
One day, I noticed a shop bundle named: ā€œInsight Into Wishesā€. Wishes? Whose wishes?
The bundle contains items used to summon Phantom IdolsĀ . Looking into these idols’ backstories and Co-op events reveals something strange:
Their Phantom Thief forms are direct manifestations of their deepest desires:
KotoneĀ wants to skate—her phantom thief form is a graceful figure skater.
Leo idolizes heroes—his phantom thief form is a tokusatsu-style superhero.
Mushibi wants to escape reality—herĀ phantom thief form is a bold virtual avatar ā€œYuiā€.
Minami wants to become a nurse—herĀ phantom thief formĀ is a nurse.
HarunaĀ loves puzzles—herĀ phantom thief form is an explorer.
Runa is obsessed with Shichi-kun—herĀ phantom thief form is a furry.
Mayumi dreams of being a race queen—and herĀ phantom thief form is exactly that.
All their desires are granted—by Wonder.
Stars. The ocean. Granted wishes. My crazy theory is this:
Wonder’s true identity… is a star that fell into the sea.
That’s why his Velvet Room attendant is named Merope—not a Frankenstein reference (as in ā€œmade beingā€), but a star in the Pleiades constellation.
That’s why the navigation symbol in the Metaverse isn’t just an ouroboros—it’s a meteor with a trailing tail of fire.
And that’s why the opening animation shows Wonder falling from the sky, engulfed in flames, crashing into a city submerged in water.
Like a shooting star.
And that’s why Igor says, ā€œYou possess the power to awaken desire in others.ā€
After all, what could stir up desire more than a shooting star?
This might even explain why Wonder’s Persona, JĆ”noŔík, looks just likeĀ false godĀ :
White, gold and red color
Inorganic appearance
In P5, P5S, and P5T, we’ve seen that human desires can give birth to gods—twisted ones, too:
Yaldabaoth came from lazy desires.
Demiurge came from the desire for wish fulfillment.
Samael came from desire for self-protection.
So maybe… JĆ”noŔíkĀ isn’t just Wonder’s Persona. Maybe it’s a new false god, born through Wonder—the fallen star who grants desires.
Oh, this is an interesting theory! I particularly like the connection between shooting stars and desires that you make here- that’s a really good point about how they could be related.Ā
I believeĀ ā€œwishesā€ is one way that the items used for gacha pulls have gotten translated, which explains (at least partially) the name of the ā€œInsight Into Wishesā€ item that you bring up? Not that I think it necessarily negates that part of your theory, I just thought it was worth mentioning since you were talking about it.
I do think there’s also one connection you seem to have overlooked here. If your theory involves two points: 1) that theĀ ā€œSea of Soulsā€ Igor claims the Velvet Room to be under isn’t the real Sea of Souls, and 2) that WonderĀ ā€œfell into the seaā€, doesn’t that, itself, seem like it means something? It makes it sound less like Wonder fell intoĀ ā€œthe seaā€ as a general concept, and more like Wonder fell into whatever this Velvet Room is located in, if it isn’t the Sea of Souls. In fact, it makes it sound like Wonder might not have originated from this world at all, even if he lives here now.
Alternatively, if it really is the Sea of Souls, and it just looks different because it’s been decades since (and a different world from) P1, your theory could still say something interesting about Wonder, because what would it mean to fall into the Sea of Souls? Maybe that has something to do with his visions? It’s definitely an intriguing concept to think about!
