Hace 18 años se lanzó el Wii. Consola casera lanzada por Nintendo. Como consola de 7ma generación, compitió con el Xbox 360 de Microsoft, y el PlayStation 3 de Sony. Nintendo declara que la consola tiene de blanco a un público más extenso que el de los demás. Para el primer ¼ de 2016, Wii tenía la delantera en cuanto a ventas mundiales, delante de PlayStation 3 y Xbox 360, con más de 101MM de unidades vendidas; en diciembre de 2009, la consola rompió récords de ventas para un solo mes en Estados Unidos.

Although, I can't exactly let nintendo off the hook.

Yes, 20 per year is a better value than buying these games one by one on virtual console. However:

VC was already somewhat overpriced for being just. ROMs.

I wouldn't have bought CluClu land on VirtualConsole.

VC lasted... forever? Not yearly? it's annoying to not have an option to permenantly own individual games from NSO.

It's still pretty stinky to overcharge for online multiplayer, which SHOULD be free, and then make up for that with Technically-Good-Value retro games.

At least old games are so small that it actually is pretty reasonable to beat every good game available through base-tier NSO in only one year.

Hey, why the fuck weren't the NES NinjaGaiden games in the NinjaGaiden Master collection? You know, if I'm complaining about literally anything anyway. THey're NES GAMES, and they even chose a version that REMOVED the ability to unlock them!!! oug. head hurt. I took my adhd meds too late today and it's fucking with me. my sleep scheudle is in ruins

I always find it hilarious and stupid how people calculate the supposed value of Xbox GamePass

like yes okay i can see here that the highest level of subscription includes nearly 500 games.

However, they list Control and GearsOfWar's ultimate editions as separate games. It has madden 24 and madden 25. Also, you know. Anthem and Bluey the videogame are on there.

That is to say, for a start, it isn't 500 totally unique games which are all great. But that's not even really where I'm going with this...

I feel like the detail that's omitted shockingly often is the fact that the price you pay for these games is PER YEAR. And with so many games, you are NOT going to play enough of them in that time to make the value worth it.

And a big problem with this type of thing is... an acceptable amount of variety will mean that only a small number of people, whose tastes are such that they would want to play most of the good games on the service, will fully get that value, but on the other hand, a lacking variety also obviously limits who it can appeal to.

And if you want temporary access to a bunch of games for a cheap overall price... just buy used games and sell them when your done...?

People keep comparing the price of ALL those games to the price of buying them individually... but buying them individually has NO limit on how long you'd keep them for, wheras gamepass charges regularly. Also, it can just flatout lose games.

Xbox game pass seems like it's nice to have if you already have an xbox console and want the ability to just browse a bunch of games and try them out at no [ADDITIONAL] cost. But it's not a good value... because in terms of the games you're actually interested in playing, you can and should just buy them one by one on their own.

I feel like I do this rant every five minutes and i dont even know what I think im achieivng, am I OKAY?????

At least Nintendo's buisiness model prompted third parties who normally would have released those games through a direct collaboration to just put those games out on their own so we got stuff like the Megamans, Castlevania Advance Collection and Doom 64 released, with better deals than the standardised virtualconsole pricing would have given us, often a variety of enhancements or bonus features due to not being beholden to a specific formula of standardised releases, and in many cases these collections released before nintendo even put their original consoles onto NSO - in fact, Konami, Capcom, and even Sega and SquareEnix have all ported DS games onto switch, while Nintendo hasn't made a DS NSO- which, I mean, I get WHY, but STILL! And their own DS ports have been, what... Another Code Recollection and Pokemon BDSP? 1-2 punch of "nobody cared" and "nobody liked that..."

That said: Capcom just remaster Okamiden already. And where the hell is Megaman StarForce? And legends... and why was battle network so overpriced- Sega you absolute clowns why did you remaster RadiantHistoria on 3DS instead of switch? And give us Infinite Space HD! ANd sonic Rush! SquareEnix listen to me, you WILL put the DS dragonquest games on switch no you WILL those are the ones I actually want to play, I KNOW the NES games are easier to port and the HD2D remakes are easier to market but this is still a better bet than various daylife okay LISTNE TO M- Oh yeah also, uh CHRONO TRIGGER Nintendo, what were you thinking with Mario and Luigi remakes on 3ds. come on. And give us those Zelda games with normal controls. Konami you bastards where the hell is the Silent Hill Legacy Collection? And WHY exactly is it taking so long to remaster Metal Gear Solid 4? DS is probbably a pretty bad example, because that's a console wehre i'm the MOST likely to just play it on the original system anyway. Hell, I did that for Phoenix wright, and I own that game on switch. I don't even really care about ports from DS most of the time... why did I do this...?

Doom 64 and Turok both came out on switch before Nintendo introduced the expansion pack. which is funny.

eugh... i dont lilke gaming subscription services... it just never feels good to pay for nothing but access to a handful of games... no matter how good the value is when you think about it, the knowledge that this purchase is only good for a certain amount of time makes me feel like I'm throwing money down the toilet

Hace 12 años se lanzó el Wii U. Es un sistema casero de videojuegos desarrollado por Nintendo, como sucesor de Wii. Es la primera consola de VIII generación, y compitió contra el Xbox One de Microsoft y el PlayStation 4 de Sony.

El Wii U es el primer sistema de Nintendo con gráficos HD. El control primario de la consola es el Wii U GamePad, el cual contiene una pantalla táctil integrada, botones direccionales, sticks análogos, y botones de acción. La pantalla puede usarse tanto como suplemento a la pantalla principal o en juegos compatibles para jugarse directamente en el GamePad.
