okay. man. it's been a rough couple of days and so far the immediate fires seem to have cooled off for now. we're not still dealing with the aftershocks and some shit stirrers, but that's another topic i might get to later. (this got long so i'm putting this in a whole other reblog and under a cut)

content warning: abuse, sexual assault/harassment, suicide, grooming.

falseeyed has good videos on the subject, though doesn't cover all the nonsense that's been going on twitter right now as he's relatively reputable for not dealing with gossip. khyo has talked gossip, but may use inflammatory words to describe the situation. this is what i've been seeing thus far.

roughly a month ago, the niji en ex talent selen tatsuki has posted an mv and cover of the song "last cup of coffee" written by lilypichu. i'm not sure when it was taken down by management, but roughly within the next 24 hours it had been privated by management, and selen had tweeted out that management privated the video and to repost it because so many dragoons had worked hard on it. if i recall correctly, she had gone silent soon after this tweet for a month. the silence was only broken by a tweet of selen saying that she was the hospital for an accident. she also tweeted out she was out of the hospital, and thanked everyone for their concern.

eventually, dragoons were worried for her wellbeing since her tweet about leaving the hospital was the last tweet they've seen from her. #whereisselen was trending on twitter for a couple of days, with dragoons asking just for a health update.

meanwhile, during this silence, selen on her past live account dokibird had been active, though she too also went quiet for a spell until she finally broke her silence on february 5th, saying she would not be silenced, and explained that she was being bullied from within and that lead to her stay at the hospital for an attempt. she then went to say she would return to that account.

a couple of hours prior, nijisanji english posted a lengthy termination notice, claiming that she did not follow correct copyright procedures and as a result, damaged the company's reputation. this went over as well as a lead balloon. here is the statement. this is a thread about why the statement is ho horrifically bad at what it does.

the other problem is that, in the statement nijisanji english had posted was how they inplicitly stated that the bullying came from the other livers. almost IMMEDIATELY set off a witch hunt, where fans were harassing enna and millie for one innocuous tweet millie had made out of concern wrt the "last cup of coffee" removal debacle, and enna for an out of context clip someone took of her membership stream.

because of when niji english posted this, there were parts of the world that had no clue. selen/doki herself didn't know until a friend told her. the wording of the jp statement explicitly throws the livers under the bus. this is a thread in japanese explaining the language difference between the two statements and why en fans are upset (you will have to use a translation tool to understand this if you do not speak japanese).

many en livers took temporary breaks from social media in light of the sudden news; vantacrow had to continue his birthday stream even in light of the news. many livers also were silent, luca kaneshiro being chief among them (the liver i closely follow). livers also had streams they were continuing to stream at a normal time. it was a trainwreck.

furthermore, some fake leaked screenshots were posted, claiming that aster was the bully, having also bullied scarle. this is ironic, as aster's personality doesn't seem to be the type to bully others. this was also proven fake, and aster and scarle both tweeted matching tweets, likely in solidarity.

the alleged leaker of these fake screenshots was luca kaneshiro, and a couple of other shit also popped up with him. an ex mod claimed he abused her once he got into nijisanji, having known him in his past life. i believe the same person who posted these allegations also posted in the nijisanji subreddit. the post was later deleted by the user, and the user deleted their account.

the problem with these allegations, however, is that there is evidence dating back to a previous life of hers where she did groomed a 16 year old by doing erp in vrchat. this was, allegedly, luca's past life. she later posted screenshots in order to prove the allegations. take what you will with the thread with screenshots. this is her initial post on the matter.

(personal opinion: i don't believe what raziel says because why would she bring this up now when the trainwreck of niji en combusting is prime on everyone's minds? i smell someone trying to put gas on a fire and drag someone who is a victim of the niji bullshit through the mud. but i digress.)

so far, however, in spite of all the drama, dokibird is doing excellently. i can't say the same for the state of niji en.

you do not understand the love in my heart for anime harpygirls. if i could be a harpy i would. my hands aren't important. i have wings. it's better.because you have to hold things with the little bent elbows on the end like they're little paws covered in feathers. that's the pinnacle. the way that harpygirls groom their feathers usually as some sort of gag or physical comedy or blatant excuse for being horny but i'm fine with that because i will always be horny for harpies. and the way that we've all unilaterally agreed on chestwraps for harpies, the single hottest article of clothing, with the wings providing the color contrast that a jacket would normally provide, mimicking the effect of the S+ tier "chestwrap with a big jacket" combo,, but the visual balance is restored due to the big talons, meaning that overall a perfectly balanced design where verything exists in a perfect harmony. the fact that harpygirl colors are blue! green! purple! those are the harpy colors! and they're all perfect! sometimes you get harpies designed to mimic actual birds and they're literally peak because how do you design a character carrying the visual traits of a bird into a human design conveys a lot about how much you love the bird and what traits on the bird you deam critical. and they're versatile!!! you like knifeplay? they got talons. you into tickling? feathers, baby. you like... egg stuff? not for me, don't understand it, but i've got great news about the amount of harpy egg porn on the internet. you want art of a cute girl screaming at people? harpies. there;s nothing they can't do. no, that's a lie. Man I tell you, another heavy day in my production job. And on top of that, pollen season. There goes my allergies smh. Well, at least I get bit of a break, have some food with me, and I can finally watch today's episode. Let's see what we got! *sees thumbnail* 😶 .....I haven't even pressed on the video and my theorist senses are tingling already

Wow, this. This was absolutely fantastic omg. The writing in this was so good and I loved the tidbits of animation we got, like when Mario and 4 were picking up the pages to clean! This was somehow brilliant, and this is coming from a long-time viewer.

It' crazy's awesome that they brought Wolfychu back to do some lines this episode, and I was right about the Waggy cameo from Shadow (YES!). Also, EVAN! You make the cover of the manga? It looks SO GOOD, dude!! As always, great work with the writing on your end 👏

I've already mentioned Melony but we have to talk about the boys. Both Mario and 4 had good intentions to help their friend out. "I would do anything to not lose my friends" and that's exactly what 4 did. The algorithm has been affecting him so much that he didn't want Melony to go through it either. So, he went overboard with the crazy advertising and such, but he still cared for his friend. And a touch of self-doubt and insecurity from IGBP is back because he thought he wasn't doing enough. What good of a friend is he if he can't help out? The savior complex in him would say that he isn't good enough to help Melony, to "save" her from the low viewer retention. That he isn't enough, so he went desperate to have anyone take a copy of the manga. This isn't just about selling a book, it's that he's worth the friendships he has and they can always come to him if they need anything.

He doesn't want to lose them.

Ofc Mario cares so much about 4, they've known each other for years. Best of friends. If anything, Mario would know everything's not fine with 4's actions and thoughts in general. It's why the line, "SMG4, you're better than this! You've done enough damage" from Mario to 4 hits so hard. 4 was back to the "None of you understand the work I do" moment from Mar10, relapsing, and Mario needed to remind 4 of his true self, the one that cared for his friends without perfections. That instead of helping as 4 sees it, 4 was hurting Melony unintentionally, and he has to open his eyes to see that. Two sides, indeed.

Curious that the episode ended with the not "go cuckoo crazy" lesson instead of what 4 said. Goop!4 would eventually happen, bc at this point, yes. But what Mario said is exactly what 4's mindset is rn. 4 is bottling up his emotions and trauma and as long as he doesn't think about it for too long, everything's fine. As long as he doesn't reach that breakpoint, he's fine. In some way, he learned his lesson after IGBP but not quite. For one, he still doubts himself with the guilt of IGBP on top of it. And two, nothing is letting him move on from his trauma. His in-universe audience isn't letting him, Puzzles during WOTFI wasn't letting him, the memories he's been suppressing wasn't enough.

Why does he go through the extreme? Bc he thinks that it would solve everything for him. Like how he locked Puzzles in prison, thinking that Puzzles would remain there when we all know a prison escape is bound to happen. Like the Meme Factory itself was an elaborate trap. Whatever it takes to protect himself emotionally, as he's under the line from having a meltdown, he's fine. But what is that line? What is his breaking point? The thing is he wouldn't known, as shown in this episode, thinking he would still fix it. Everything's fine, he's fine.

And y'know what the cherry on top is? That, other than 4 and Mario enjoying the manga, Boopkins and Luigi were the first to be interested in Melony's creation, regardless of popularity. Very representative of Kevin irl and the deeper significance of IGBP.

....whoops sorry, I went on rambling for too long. I mean, c'mon, you should know the drill by now *points at bio*. If anything, this episode is the biggest piece of evidence for the goop!4 theory, I'm sure our local co-CEO of the theory Funkii (hey moot!) and other goop!4 enthusiasts would agree, YESSIR. Overall, this was such a sweet episode and I can't wait for more. That's all from me, and remember: numbers always go first!

Not necessarily something abusive on Lily's part, but something that I think causes a lot of problems for Lily.

One of the things that strikes me about Lily's content is just how...old it feels. The references Lily STILL uses to this day being WoW and MLP, two franchises that are basically as dead to the internet as possible. The way that she's so abrasive and hostile to her fans. You can even look at her recent not understanding why people would want her avatar on her streams to emote like a Vtuber or her Pokemon "retrospective" where not only does she really seem to care about the first 3 gens, but she's also talking about how the Psychic type isn't actually overpowered actually, when, like...it's not anymore, that's an argument that's been settled for 20 years at this point and is not relevant to modern Pokemon.

Looking at Lily's content is like stepping back in time, to a much older period of Youtube. There was a time when someone could just get a mic and yell angrily into it and get millions of views, there was a time when creators weren't just commonly, but almost expected to be angry and abrasive and talk down to their fans, there was a time when you could just make content on very, very niche media like MLP and still be successful. But, those times are long, long gone and Lily has refused to adapt or change. The most she can be bothered to do it begrudgingly watch the things that her audience are actually interested in and she makes it like pulling teeth their entire way.

I think a lot of people forget that Lily really got her start as a Youtuber in My Little Pony at the height of Brony fever, but what's shocking to be is just how much she has not moved on from that time. You really get this sense that she just really has not enjoyed ANYTHING after MLP lost its cultural relevance and she's so wrapped up in nostalgia that she both can't risk enjoying anything for fear that it will tarnish her impression of her childhood hyperfixations and refuses to engage with anything that can't make her love it as much as she loves the stuff she was obsessed with as a child.

Lily feels like a relic of an older age to me, like the last member of a long-extinct species just shambling along while everyone waits for the moment it finally expires so they can finally declare it extinct once and for all. It still boogles my mind that she's managed to hang on this long, but you also have to wonder just how long she can still cling on until she's finally left behind once and for all.

Modern audiences expect something different. Successful creators have adapted, recognizing that engagement, relatability, and a sense of community are far more appealing than relentless negativity. The abrasive, dismissive attitude that used to be the norm has fallen out of favor, yet Lily has dug in her heels. Her hostility toward her own fans—her refusal to answer repeat questions, her disdain for audience recommendations, her constant need to talk down to people—is a relic of a time when YouTubers could afford to treat their viewers like idiots and still succeed.

Her audience, however, is shrinking. The kids who once listened to her with wide eyes have grown up. They’ve realized how exhausting her persona is, how her critiques never evolve, how little respect she has for the people watching her. She didn’t grow with them—she stayed in the past, while they moved on. Now, when she’s exposed to newer trends—like Vtuber models that can emote on-stream—she doesn’t understand them. Instead of embracing new ideas, she pushes back, sneering at them.

This all ties back to something even deeper: Lily doesn’t seem to enjoy anything anymore. When MLP was at its height, she at least pretended to be invested. Now? She seems resentful of everything she covers. It’s not just that she dislikes modern media—it’s that she refuses to connect with it, refuses to approach it with anything other than an entitled expectation that it should cater to her exact sensibilities. She doesn’t want to engage with media that could challenge her nostalgia because deep down, she knows nothing will ever measure up.

The irony is that Lily could have survived this shift. Plenty of creators from the 2010s have reinvented themselves—Doug Walker evolved from just “angry reviews” to more laid-back retrospectives, AVGN focuses more on passion projects than pure rage content, even some MLP analysts have found success in discussing broader topics or moving into different fandoms. But Lily? Lily doubled down. She refuses to change, refuses to adapt, and as a result, she is fading into irrelevance.

Her rebranding attempt with CD-Call was a desperate grasp at survival, but it was doomed from the start. Changing your name doesn’t matter if you don’t change your behavior. And Lily hasn’t. She’s still bitter, still condescending, still stuck in the past. At this point, she isn’t just running on borrowed time—she’s a relic waiting to be forgotten.
