rio couldve just taken nicholas when he was supposed to die. it probably would have been easier for agatha, actually, given that she never actually knew the kid that way. it would have still been difficult, but a much easier goodbye.

but rio, instead of taking the easy route, took the chance to show agatha she could be good.

she let agatha get a chance to be a better mom than her mom was to her. she gave agatha a chance to see that she was more than just a witch killer. she gave agatha someone who didn't see evil in her, but only good.

she would lose agatha either way, but instead of giving herself the possibility to eventually come back, to possibly be with the love of her life again, she chose to - even for a short time - let agatha see in herself what rio saw in her.

she was willing to play the villain if it meant giving agatha a chance.

The cookie hyperfixation Is hitting STRONG. And now I have angst for you.

I was listening to No One Mourns the Wicked (and just with this information you kinda get what I'm on about) and BAM. IDEA. (Pure fanfiction AND, again, not exclusive for ships)

Imagine:

The situation takes place after a semi-redemption arc for the Beasts; they fought alongside the Ancients and the Gingerbrave gang to stop Dark Enchantress Cookie and whatever she had going on, they found some of the "humanity" they lost with their corruption and actually developed a bond with their respective counterpart.

And, in the end, they had to make a choice and decided to sacrifice themselves, both to make amends and also because they were tired of living as the Witches' little experiments for centuries.

So they died, saved their new friends and asked them to not reveal what happened to the rest of the world, they didn't want to spread confusion and everyone thought they were the evil guys so what's the point?

So now the Heroes are back in their lands and have to tell the story to everyone, how they defeated both Dark Enchantress and the Beasts cookies and everyone rejoices! Everyone is happy! They make big parties because Earthbread is finally free from darkness and they're safe!

And the Heroes are there, standing on their little podiums, watching with a little smile that doesn't reach their eyes, nodding at people waving at them and answering as they can the millions of questions, pretending not to hear all the bad things their subjects are saying about the 5 "wicked" cookies...

Soooo, apparently, someone by the name of "nyuuzyou" recently scraped tons of fanfics off of AO3 and posted them to various generative ai database sites. It seems like fics which were only viewable by people with profiles were safe, so a bunch of people are locking their accounts. I don't know if I'll be locking mine yet, but if you've been using AO3 as a guest, you may want to sign up soon. If you do have an account, and your fics were victims of the scrape, you might be able to file a copyright claim. This reddit post seems to have most of the information, including what works were scraped and where the data was posted.
