I think Nicky would enjoy gasping "oh mein Gott" in dramatically exaggerated outrage. One day just for fun Neil anticipates it and beats him to it with an even more dramatic "oh mon Dieu" and it starts a (lighthearted) challenge to see who can say it more ridiculously in any language.

They agree it's Aaron when one day Neil is nagging him and Aaron snaps the most exasperated "oh my God" ever known to mankind.

And there was this conversation, helpfully caught on video, of one of Innocent's many great nieces and said polyglot Dean.

"Lolo Tomas?"

"Yes, little one?"

She looked at him thoughtfully, as if she was decades older than her actual age of four years.

"Love nio ba si Lolo Enteng?"

Cardinal Lawrence didn't miss a beat. In perfect Tagalog, he responded, "Siyempre naman. Mahal na mahal ko ang Lolo Enteng mo."

i feel it would be easier for andrew to learn a new language, so i'm leaning french since kevin already knew it.

I know we collectively agree that Hiccup isn’t romantically inclined, and his getting married and having kids didn’t make sense in the epilogue, but consider: Hiccup getting married for political reasons.

She understands why Hiccup is so dedicated to making the Wilderwest better, and holds similar views. She’s a good politician (her job after all, was to be an ambassador). Hiccup likes spending time with them, and the feeling is mutual. They’re not in love, they have their own lives, but they’re dedicated to each other and eventually decide to raise children. They teach their kids how to train hawks and hunt with dragons, riding, history, the Languages, and all the necessary skills of their world. They’re not in love and they’re happy together.

right i have a question for u bilingual lot,

i would really like to learn a language other than english and was hoping to get some possible advice, sort of like where to start, how to keep it fresh in my mind and not something i get bored of a couple weeks from now cause wah wah its too hard

if u guys have any tips please let me know ! im most interested in learning a language like scottish gaelic or welsh, but also i am a classics student and think itd be really cool to learn greek or latin, ofc i'm aware these may be difficult languages to start with so im honestly open to anything !

growing up bilingual more like at some point in life i've incorporated this second language in everything i do and am, to the point i can express how i feel better in this language that is foreign to me than in my own and i don't know how that happened

Friendly reminder that it’s okay to take breaks. It’s okay to not study every day, it’s okay to not immerse every day. Friendly reminder that it’s okay to quit. If something isn’t working for you, you don’t have to push through it. If something worked for you in the past but isn’t anymore, it’s okay to put it to the side for a period of time, or even permanently. Friendly reminder that it’s okay to lose interest in things and quit. It doesn’t make you any less of a person, it doesn’t make you any less of a language learner, and it doesn’t make you any less smart.
