Question for Tumblr Agents:
Do memes become artifacts? At some point they have to, right? How does the Warehouse store problematic meme-ifacts?

Oh, I've been meaning to say this - when I met Gareth like the other week he was talking about the fact that there WAS a planned Warehouse 12 spin-off show that was being discussed during production, and I'm SO SAD nothing came of it because WE COULD HAVE HAD MORE WOOLLY!
Yes! @warehouse13pod had an interview with Jack Kenny where he revealed that little tidbit. Apparently the execs at the time didn’t think that a woman HG Wells would get the views.
Which I OBVIOUSLY beg to differ??? THE Jaime Murray would get SO many people to watch the show. And then we’d have more Woolly!

Woke up to these lovely messages today. We don’t have a ton of followers on YouTube, because it’s not our primary posting platform and the number of views there don’t get counted as download/listens on our stats. But we keep it up for easy sharing, and I’m so glad we do. Because it helps our pod reach people who otherwise wouldn’t know about us. So grateful to be able to reach people who connect to what we’re doing. -JN #ladypodsquad #warehouse13 #podcast13 #warehouse13pod https://www.instagram.com/p/B32qxv0HyEL/?igshid=hte99zq78kl2

If you like W13, you may enjoy a podcast about it called Podcast13. You can find some more info at @warehouse13pod
Endless Wonder
I just finished re-watching Warehouse 13 and doing so now 5 years after it ended, it’s mind blowing how well put together all the aspects of the show are. I mean putting aside the closeups of the cellphones, the stories told don’t feel aged and still relevant. I started rewatching it as an escape and... it’s just. It’s a show about endless wonder sure but more than that, it’s a show about family. About finding family and that even those families are far from perfect. From a storytelling perspective, I think the show actively works to subvert the viewers expectations and does so in a way that only enhances the world it creates. It’s just a fantastic show, and I’m sitting here like why isn’t it talked about more? Because it checks all the boxes and just it’s a show that feels like home.

W13 1x11 “Nevermore”
So @warehouse13pod released their podcast on “Nevermore” and it FULLY got me back into the trans Myka headcannoning. I got so into everything all over again that I rewatched the episode yesterday. That whole thing is gold and I’m just gonna make a list. Anyone is free to add to it, or send in their own opinions if they wish to remain anonymous.
*Trigger warning that at least one HC refers to eating disorders. This one will be in italics in case you wish to skip it, since the references are in order of appearance on the show.
Warren’s use of the word “kiddo”
We could take this as Warren merely thinking of Myka as his forever child (as many parents tend to do). But what I latched onto is the fact that it’s genderless. He can use it in a way that might annoy Myka (she’s definitely an adult who wouldn’t appreciate it that much, especially with how strained their relationship is already), but not offend her.
It’s also way to keep her gender identity at a distance. Like he doesn’t have to acknowledge her as a woman, just as his child.
When Warren brings up that Myka has “starved [her] hunger nerve”
I see it as a call to her past. With how Myka described her household as a place with “the tough dad and scared kids” I find it very plausible that she developed an eating disorder. To an extent, she still struggles with it as an adult and the ingestion of sugar.
Her mother calls both her and Pete guests.
This, for me, is odd. If her parents had moved, I would understand it more, but this is the place Myka grew up. To be a guest in her previous home makes me think that she wasn’t very comfortable there and it was very apparent to everyone involved.
Myka mentions a force of habit to lie to her parents.
Most people have lied to their parents at some point or another. With Myka being trans and having unaccepting parents, the lies would probably increase, becoming a force of habit to keep herself emotionally (and possibly physically) safe.
This dialogue--
Warren: If you’d been a boy I’d’a called you Sue. (something about Johnny Cash and how it’d make them tough)
Myka: Well, I’m sorry I wasn’t a boy.
Warren: I’m sorry I wasn’t a father.
Jean: He has regrets.
Myka: about me?
Jean: Yes. About his life.
Myka has clearly avoided her parents as much as possible in her adult life. Not knowing how to fix it, they just left her alone, even though (as Warren said) they have regrets about how they parented and treated her.
Honestly, I think he’s a tad delirious when quoting Johnny Cash and a bit more lucid with his confession.
The Blue Willow Sky
I’ve talked about this a bit here, but I really do see Warren’s revisions of his original novel as a coping mechanism.
When he first started writing it, it was for him. He considered publishing it, but realized he couldn’t let it go quite yet. So he decided he’d edit it for awhile.
Then, as Myka came to terms with her gender and started to come out, his book twisted into something that now, he deeply regrets ever having written. That version was burned.
When Myka pulled away emotionally and eventually moved away physically, Warren started to realized he’d been wrong to treat her in such a manner. The revisions of his book took all kinds of turns, until he finally settled on the one Myka read aloud to him. By that point though, he was exhausted. Exhausted by the book due to the emotional toll it had taken on him, so he told his wife to burn it and never looked back.
It wasn’t until Myka read it to him, that he realized it might’ve brought them closer if he’d apologized by showing her what he’d written. As words and prose are known language between them.

okay so we know like, her delusions and stuff were actually real, but like, what is your official headcanon opinion on Claudia's mental health? Do you think she does have any mental illnesses?
lol it’s like you know I just watched 1x04 “Claudia”… and maybe you do. ;)
Not to mention that @warehouse13pod brings this up on their podcast about that episode as well!
I’m gonna start with, I’m not a doctor, I didn’t go to school for psychology, and I also have no diagnosed mental illnesses of my own. I work closely with and have friends who have mental illnesses, but that’s as close as I can get, so nothing I write here is anything official, just what I can possibly see.
For Claudia, losing her family like that (literally all of them when she was 7-10) in such traumatic ways, I definitely think she probably has some PTSD.
Spending time in the mental facility– even though she checked herself in and out of her own volition– is portrayed as something she did not benefit from and may have even checked into one of the more sketchier facilities. I know a lot of places are perfectly safe and good, but I do know someone personally who was checked into a facility that was not exactly up to par with its treatment, so this is a plausible scenario.
She probably suffers from anxiety and bouts of depression. Anxiety over where to live and go when she ran away from a broken down foster system. She had to take care of herself at 16 and that causes a lot of internal stress.
She may even have abandonment issues, because even though none of her family intentionally left her, she was a child when the forced separation occurred, meaning the effect probably scarred her pretty deep.
Do you have any headcanon opinions on it?
