Tbh I'm more of a Marvel kind of guy, but I have always said that Superman is my favorite DC superhero by far

And I loved the new movie with all my heart because despite the writing being clunky at times, the Hope and kindness of it have emotionally affected my heart <3

But it was when I saw this bright, colorful, kind superman saving the squirrel that I thought to myself:

"Ah, shit, we really are in crisis, aren't we? And it's serious, very serious"

Like, during Pa Kent's part (if you have seen the movie you'll know) a guy in the cinema at my side was sobbing, but like openly sobbing and I almost asked him if he was ok but I decided to let him have his moment lmao

I fucking hate being employed this shit fucking sucks I wanna go home

#just had a meeting with my boss #I thought I was doing pretty good because I’m trying my best but she laid out my sins in front of me and told me to lock the fuck in #girl I AM locked in what do you want from me #I work two days a week sorry I’m not a fucking master at this #pretty much all I’ve learned is that I’m far too anxious for this job #the incident she laid out were either human error (which is fair) something due to my anxiety or something straight up did not happen?#like I had no recollection of some of the things she noted I swear to god I am being honest #and I can’t take even the lightest criticism so this was a nightmare for me #she said ‘I’m not in trouble�� but fuck it sure feels like it!#she made me feel like a burden and a failure which y’know… isn’t ideal #honestly all I can say is that I’m trying my best #I don’t love this job but I like the people here and also the job market is in shambles so it’s this or nothing #anyways I was holding back tears but I’m fine now #we are in hell

little storytime because I thought it was relevant

so in my spare time, (and to get in some volunteer hours bc college in rough) I'm an afterschool teacher person. I allow these kids to ask me anything they need, because shutting down curious kids stifles creativity and if there was an emergency they're less likely to come to me y'know all that good shit I'm a good teacher blah blah

This girl comes up to me. She's about 10, maybe 11, 13 at the MAX I don't remember the sweet thing's age exactly. She has a phone, unrestricted (which is another topic but not my point) and shows me a TikTok (also another topic and also not my point) of the famous Elon Nazi salute (how I found out about it actually) and when she saw my face pale she asked me what it meant because she didn't understand bEcAuSe ShEs LiKe 12 but anyway

I have to weigh my options here. Do I tell a 12 year old girl that isn't my kid about the real things going on in the world or do I leave it to her parents?

I did my best. I told her that what he did is a salute that people a long time ago did, and they used to hurt people if they didn't like them.

Her little face dropped, and she told me how her father's been doing it too.

A 12 year old. Is living in a Nazi family. We are in hell.
