okay haiii haiiii sorry I was doing things haiiii haiii

okay I'm gonna talk about Becket because I really really miss him like really really bad I'm noty going to lie I was genuinely crying earlier and bugging scotch and my other friend about it because. I miss him a lot. my husband off at war. okay anyways.

okay Becket is GENUINELY one of my very favorite characters ever. I've been reading his comic, The Weekly Roll(on webtoon and CME_T's instagram), for roughly ? Four years now? I can't make an exact number due to (vaugely gestures) but I have been following for a very long time now and love them so very much. The Weekly Roll boils down to a hilarious dungeons and dragons found paneled comic in monochrome. Honestly it's absolutely WONDERFUL. There have been SO many time I've burst out laughing/giggling because of this comic, and even rereads make me laugh like I'm deranged, I LOVE it extremely. It's better on every reread and there are so many little details and continutity things that just make me go "woahh." It's so good. Anyways, there's A little over 150 chapters, but since they're each just four panels, it's about three hours to read the whole thing in one sitting(I have timed it before.) I reread it every now and then, if you break it up you can span it over a little while actually, but it's SO GOOD.

okay sorry about the actual comic. I love this comic. it's so ososososososo good. anyways. BECKET. Becket my beloved. Sir Becket is the human paladin of a Murder Hobo party; the Straight man, basically. WHICH IS ALSO FUNNY because he is CANONICALLY M-spec which I LOVE SO MUCH. ermmmm ermmmm. becket. anyways. he's literally so awesome and someone I haven't actually got to ramble about before. I don't want to ruin the magic. anyways. can I just preface how fucking great this comic is again. it's so good pleaasseeeeee pleaseeeeee you should read it. you should read it btw. you should read it. it's such an easy read and the characters are so wonderful and the storylines are so good PLEASEE you should read it. cough. anways. uhmmm. So he's the straight man Paladin of an adventuring party that later gets named The Bucket Brigade. The other members, Trevor, Grogna, Torvold, and later Klara, are absolutely WONDERFUL. Trevor is a wild sorcerer gnome, a pyromaniac and likes to eat shrooms and break the fourth wall. He;s a chaotic mess and I LOVE HIM. Grogna, is the silent half orc fighter who really like blood and stabbing. She's actually Trevor's girlfriend as well which is so neat. they are so neat. Grogna is so neat. Anyways. Torvold, is the dwarf necromancer! He's frankly just a menace. I love that guy. would you believe me if I said he had a wife and kids. anyways. Klara, is the Teifling warlock that we don't really know much about! Despite being a warlock, she's actually Beckets second half when it comes to keeping the party not killing all over the place! (EXPLODES INTO EXCITMENT AND ANGUISH CLUTCHES MY HEAD AND SCREAMS) okya where were we. uhmmmm.

god there is so much I want to say but ermmm I also really really really want you to read the comic because it's so good and I really love the pacing and just everything about it. uhmmmm but I can't force that so since you most likely? won't read it it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to spoil. but I do I am staring at you with THE GREATEST BIGGEST EYES. you should read the comic tbh. methinks. erm . anyways

Brazil seeks European trade advantages in return for Amazon protection

The EU wants environmental guarantees in case a future Brazilian government stops trying to protect the Amazon

Brazil will push the European Union for better trading terms in return for offering environmental guarantees over the protection of the Amazon rainforest, according to a diplomat with knowledge of the EU-Mercosur trade deal negotiations.

Brazil felt targeted by a “side letter” added this year to the trade deal struck in 2019, adding environmental guarantees to the original accord, they said. The new Brazilian government of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who has made bold pledges of environmental stewardship in contrast to his predecessor, has taken its time to come up with a response.

But the South American trade bloc Mercosur will prepare its counterproposal this weekbefore meeting with EU negotiators in August in the hopes of closing the accord by the end of the year, two Brazilian diplomats told Reuters.

The sources said Brazil would also seek new exceptions to opening government purchases for foreign firms in the health industry, public-sector construction and green technology.

Before The Tale of Peter Rabbit became a well-loved children’s book for those in England, and eventually spreading further, it was a story created for one special boy. Beatrix Potter was very fond of her last governess, Annie Moore, who had left her position in order to get married. The two women kept in touch and Beatrix was known to send Moore’s growing family illustrated letters featuring many animal friends. When Moore’s eldest son Noel fell ill, Beatrix wrote him one of her famous letters and Peter Rabbit was born.

The idea of publishing Peter Rabbit didn’t come to mind until it was suggested by fellow author, Canon Hardwicke Rawnsley. Despite Peter Rabbit’s monumental success presently, Potter’s story was rejected multiple times and she ended up publishing it herself in 1901, though it was a limited quantity and sold within her social circle. To no one’s surprise, however, it was a big hit! Frederick Warne & Co had rejected the idea the first time around but quickly reconsidered, if Beatrix would do the illustrations in color. This she did, and the first edition was published by Warne in October 1902. After that, the story took off, and is now a “must have” on children’s bookshelves.

To commemorate 100 years of the original Peter Rabbit picture letter of 1893, Frederick Warne & Co created this 1993 limited-edition commemorative box set in a limited edition of 1175 copies that includes a copy of the original Peter Rabbit letter and facsililes of her privately-printed edition of 1901 and the first deluxe Warne editon of 1902, all printed and bound by the venerable William Clowes Limited. Although it’s a facsimile, it was made to look and feel exactly like the original. It’s very convincing! I chose this book as my first staff pick not only because I like her artwork but because it looked like it might’ve been an original.
