NGL the whole tag thing is disproportionately pissing me off. 20 relevant tags instead of just 5 IS nice and it IS a lot, but making it so additional tags do NOT work in blogs is utter shit. It simply screws with people's way of organizing their blogs. That, and it especially follows the infuriating habit of sites not clearly annuncing major enshittification changes in their standard functionality, leaving users to finding it out on their owns.

I know it's a very niche issue to have and I'm trying hard to find the one positive in the fact that I'll get a good "meditative" activity to do when I'm bored, but going through my posts to shuffle my tags around so I can still find stuff "because shit changes without notice" was not on my to-do list for this month x_x

So uh, since you didn't specify anything I'll just go on a mini ramble of what I've been recently thinking of. It's pretty funny how far this man has come, he started off as just a joke about Big Tiddy Goth BF instead of GF and now he's just, some guy who happens to look like that. It's been honestly very fun shifting his story around and making him into more of a full character. I love having him being the brooding "bad boy" type that gets linked to twink characters but instead he's a giant beefy monster guy.

Uhhhhh, my brain is leaving fast. Too many things on my brain and I don't know how to express them in secluded and in comprehensible ways. Have a scraped sketch of a sleepy Byron for your time :) Thank you!

Emet has felt alienated in one way or another his entire life. Before the sundering, various factors contributed. His level of soul sight canonically got him likened to a member of the underworld according to his side story- I further hc that people generally saw him as spooky. He often stares at aether, following it's flow with his eyes rather than the people around it, which can result in Emet either staring into nothing or staring directly at or through someone in a distinctly uncomfortable way, and when he was young, he would say things that were entirely socially unacceptable about what he would see. And unfortunately, due to his trauma surrounding being perceived and known and spoken about, he can dish it out, but can't take it, which can be very frustrating for others especially before he developed a better filter and social understanding.

In addition, he tends to look like a denizen of the underworld too. He's pale, and could often be gaunt and unkempt before the sundering especially when he was younger due to neglect as a child resulting in him not developing the skills to properly care for himself. This got him some weird looks, and he was often avoided because he simply looked odd.

And then of course there's the matter of neurodivergence. Emet is autistic and was very socially awkward before developing a better, albeit at times clinical understanding of social interactions. He struggles with regulating his empathy and emotions, often giving too much or too little, and he's often irritable as a result. This among several other factors lead him to keep others at arm's length as an adult in order to better maintain respect from others- he can't ruin a personal interaction by being himself if he keeps everything professional.

This isolation made his close friends like Hythlodaeus and Azem remarkably important to him. They perceived him and didn't abandon what they found. This mattered to him more than anything, and of course when he lost them, he was inconsolable, especially in the wake of the sundering when they were far from the only losses. He was left even more alone than before, with only Lahabrea and Elidibus to understand the depths of that trauma.
