I know this won't be a popular opinion anywhere, but I don't think cops are inherently bad/don't believe ACAB.

You don't have to agree with me on that, and that's fine. But I was essentially the target of a racist, homophobic cop when I was Wednesday's age, and it ruined my high school life. The case was bogus (I involved myself with a seriously unstable girl, and long story short, since her accusations were false, the case had to be dismissed...I will go into it all in a different post). The cop admitted to me that it was bogus, after it was all over and I needed to pick something up from the station. He was a shitty, shitty cop.

There was a campus cop at my university who I befriended. He was a cutie**, too (🫠💦💦💦💦💦 but he was married 😭). He helped me so much while I was there, especially after I'd gotten assaulted by someone I'd been seeing at the time. I hadn't transitioned yet and was still presenting androgynous, and he knew that I was seeing that abusive girl. He treated me with kindness and respect; he was LGBTQ positive (we had another baby transman that I knew of at uni, and he too was protected and unbothered). He made me and my other girlfriend feel safe, which is what cops should be doing (it's literally their job). And that was in 1992, two years after that bad cop from my town wanted to see me put away for a crime I didn't commit.

There are some good cops out there, just like there are bad ones. So to me, becoming a cop (or like others have written her as a 'private investigator', who yanno...would be working with the courts and cops sometimes) for Wednesday wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. In some places, in order to become a CSI, you need to be a cop, and Netflix Wednesday has obviously shown interest in that area (shadowing a crime scene photographer/CSI, pestering Donovan about the case, acting like a CSI cop by telling him to run the DNA on the claw and bloody rag).

I mean...there's a real basis/reason for why in Afterburn, Sheriff Galpin gives her the Deputy Sheriff star for her birthday. 🤷🏽‍♂️

**He actually looked like Deputy Travis Junior from Reno 911 💀 And he collected action figures, like I did at the time. He had a garage full of them because he was a comic book nerd. If he hadn't been married...👀 YUH DAMN RIGHT I would've ridden that one hard, and I wouldn't have cared that I was 18 and he was in his early 30s. 😭🫠💦

...Oh, and then there was the state highway patrolman who stopped me during a storm warning. I was speeding to get home and he let me go after I answered his questions about the miniature cat-o-nine-tails I had hanging from my rearview mirror. He let me go because of the storm, but if there was no storm and he would've asked, I would've.

Fandom fic thoughts no one asked for:

I am highly, highly against Wednesday having any dialogue in which she speaks like her parents to her loved ones, i.e. all of that "Mon cher!" garbage towards Enid. It's cringey:

1. It's traditionally romantic and excessively cheesy, and [Ortega's] Wednesday is not. She just isn't, and y'all should know better. ETA: In regards to love, her parents are like Pepe Le Pew and a willing/enamored skunk (I forget if Pepe ever found his equal, but I do remember the girl cat got 🧠 'ed into behaving like Pepe usually does, which gave him a taste of his own psycho stalker medicine...ah, we had some fkd up cartoons back in the day). Wednesday would be like Michigan J. Frog...animated with only one person, in private...and that's still not a guarantee that she would ever want to emulate her mother, with whom we know that there are severe issues between them. Ridiculous, exaggerated displays of affection define Gomez and Morticia. To have Wednesday behave like that would be sacrificing the one thing that keeps her from turning into a total clone of them.

She can end up wanting to have love and a partner, and even a family, but that does not change the public mask [of a narcissist], and the notion that she would be perceived exactly like her mother upsets her. Direct reasons aren't given by the show, but by how they interact, we can see that Wednesday believes that 'everything is a competition'...but it's not [Morticia's] accomplishments that she rattles off that are the problem; it's somewhere, Wednesday picked up some terrible, terrible "I'm not good enough, I will never be as good as she is" blows to her psyche. From Wednesday's POV, she believes her mother is a narcissist (her self-awareness of her own narcissism is for its own post); only a narcissist would purposefully break someone else's chances of either being equal to or surpassing their greatness, and they get envious (and ego hurt) when it happens.

(...God, now I wanna program Ortega's voice to sing the fkn frog's song 🤣💀)

2. She doesn't want to be like her parents, and that would just...make her be more like her parents. This is the most major personal growth theme in the whole of the show, and it can't be ignored, otherwise it just turns Ortega's Wednesday into a generic iteration of a 'Wednesday character'. If it were one drabble or fic, alright, that's AU, but I see it in nine out of ten Wenclair 'drabbles' (if you can call straight-on dialogue shorts drabbles...we did not, back in the day) that clog up my fyp.

3. Her parents are extremely cultured and speak those love languages/romance languages as a whole together, to each other. Enid is not that kind of cultured at all (she can't spell, has bad grammar, and is just not interested in the same things Wednesday is). Enid would think it was cute, too, and Wednesday doesn't do cute, either (ever! EVER.**).

4. Again, Wednesday doesn't want to be like her parents, and it would be unfunnily mortifying to her to speak like that in public and in front of other people, even if she were fucking Enid. In private? See #1 and 2.

5. In Afterburn: It pained me to have her let slip the Spanish to Donovan on her birthday, but I did it because it was an unintentional slip, it was in private, and it wasn't a pet name, it was a command. She is very much like her mother in bed, but she also knows that Donovan isn't as cultured as her parents, and thus, she will refrain from that "mon cher/mon amour/whatever non-English pet names" crap.

6. There are so many other things Wednesday could call Enid (or Tyler, or Xavier, or whoever the Hell's she's paired with) without becoming a clone of her mother. Resorting to Gomez and Morticia's horribly cloying phrases is not charming, it's laziness. *channeling my inner Bianca here*

7. Now this goes back to #2 and #4, but on that note: There are obvious issues between Wednesday and her mother, and sounding like her disturbs the Hell out of her (or behaving like her, which is why Wednesday's eyes just about shit themselves in different directions when Fester said that her "death stare of disapproval reminded him of her mother").

It's almost like she has a glass eye.👀 It's there bc the AI picked it up hard I guess & it affected my outputs.

There is no way in Hell, no matter how juicy-tasty Enid's furry twat is, that Wednesday would suddenly decide that she should mimic Morticia.

I know all of this is gonna piss off a whole lot of people, but I don't care. It's not Wednesdaying right to have her call anyone by the same pet names her parents use, no matter how fluffy the relationship is. She just doesn't do relationships the same way her parents do. It's far more OOC to do that than even my pairing her up with Donovan is (which needs its own reasoning, probably in a different rant).

Rant over, and y'all can keep goin', but that's not gonna make the dialogue sound any less terrible and embarrassing.

**Afterburn Wednesday does do 'cute' with Donovan in private, but it's because of the fundamental differences from N/Canon attached to her core personality, i.e. she's hypersexual and has some regression issues here and there. Even still, she has a very hard time calling him any pet names because once again for those in the back: She does not want to be like her parents or associate her love with her parents' love, even as she recognizes that she is a lot like her mother. 🤷🏽‍♂️

(Also, I just read an incorrect assumption. Morgues have blood samples. They don't keep whole ass blood bags like blood banks/hospitals do. Get that right before you write me some Yoko & Wednesday.)

1. Enid would be fun and interesting to explore. It's different, and finding the path towards them can be teased out from canon if you try (him saving her, her saving him from Hyde Tyler). I even have a short and somewhat tender platonic Enovan scene upcoming in the final chapter of Afterburn.

You can think the ship sucks all you want. I don't give a fuck. I'll pair Wednesday or any of the characters with anyone, and I don't give a goddamn flying fuck what you think. Why? Because you can do the same, and I won't give a shit (I might question or dislike the pairing and critique your writing Wyler, Wenclair, but I'll still defend your right to write it).

You can have your problem and cry all you want about it then, because you're a lazy Karen who didn't do her due diligence and just GLANCE at the fucking pinned post I've had up there since the summer of 2023. They have a 39 year age difference.

Satisfying Afterburn is canon compliant. It's designed to slip into canon without disturbance. At this point in the story she is 16, but she was 15 in the flashback with Mr. Fortunato, who was in his late 40s.

Afterburn Wednesday has two behavioral qualities [that she did not express in Netflix canon] when combined makes her unique in the fandom: She's a (functional) stoner and sex obsessed (like her parents). I suppose her self-harm is also an added quality I gave her. She is not your 'Wednesday', and she doesn't have to be.-

Afterburn Donovan/Sheriff Galpin was never in pursuit of her, even though he found her magnetic/charming. Once again, you didn't do your fucking due diligence. It was all AB Wednesday

The Nightshades all fuck each other too, and there are/will be forthcoming stories of actual sexual abuse in there as well (and I'm reminded of Wednesday's attempted rape, but that was a Deleted Scene). I have always, always been anti-censorship in the arts and sciences. I was born into it; my father was/is a polymath scientist/artist/writer/carpenter who immersed himself in banned books and world erotica when he was young. (BTW, my Dad also had a big collection of Henry Miller's books, which I guess might be another reason I'm kind of stuck on Miller's Girl. I'd read Miller when I was younger than Cairo Sweet.) I learned the value of artistic freedom of expression early in life (by the age of 5), and carried that with me through high school when they tried to censor me there as well (for writing a lesbian-themed poem; I was also featured in my state's big name newspaper for my anti-censorship dissent when a sex educator came to visit our high school and some parents got upset over that). I never took being censored in the arts lying down, especially when it came to my own sexual expression as a youth. And yes, I had sexual expression very young, I've been writing smut since the second grade. My followers know this, or should.

My father isn't perfect, but he introduced me to some of the greats who utilized the English language to entertain and sometimes horrify, particularly to the ones whoses voices some shitbag somewhere tried to silence. (I was taken to meet Allen Ginsberg when I was 14, then a few years later I met with him again at my university. ...Damn, that was 30 years ago now. I'm fucking old.)

I don't consider this a misunderstanding, because I knew these people would see the word "intimate" and think that I was just referencing penis-in-vagina intimacy. But I wasn't. I was referencing the platonic canon that exists. It's intimate, in several scenes.

Afterburn Status Update

It's fucking hot in here and I can't sleep/write/do anything but stare at the wall after that spider attack (LOL) so perhaps for the 2 people who are interested:

Yes, still working on the last chapter of Satisfying Afterburn. Made some decent progress now, after my dog passed and there's no more having to take care of him 24/7. This whole damn year, coupled with the shit with the neighbor bullshit really fucked with my creative output. But it will be finished before year's end, I believe (and I know when I want to release Part 1, but I DON'T WANT TO JINX IT so I'm telling no one until all of the scenes are placed). I'll be messing with the soundtrack, because I think I've decided on a new song for one of the more important Wenovan scenes (and I need to add in Thing's Wake song and the Britney Spears one).

But as I mentioned in said aforementioned spider attack post, I'm already working on a soundtrack for Afterburn 2. I told one fic wife that I think 2 will have a lot more world building in it, as well as history re: the outcasts in Jericho/Goody Addams/Joe Crackstone. It will be very, very Nightshades heavy. Both the newbs (Wednesday & Co.) and the olds (Morticia & Co.). I fucking love Chancellor...but I also love Xavier's father, Vincent Thorpe. Both older men will be involved with AB Wednesday in their own capacity. No, it's not that...girl is super faithful to Donovan.

I had already planned to bring Pugsley and Morticia to Jericho pre-all of the W2 leaks/filming commencement, so AB Pugsley will be attending Nevermore...with Wednesday Jr. 🐕🐾 But ABW is going to absolutely despise what occurs with Morticia. Clash of the fucking Titans there 💀

Not sure what else I am willing to say, other than there will be distasteful shit in here again, but nothing to do with sex (but there will be a fair share of smut in there too): It's the Goodmen parts that will make people uncomfortable. My readers will have to remember that these are characters, some based on or patched together from real people; real racists, real bigots, real Trump Loyalists pieces of work. And in some places I will want to illustrate how disgusting these types of people are. Some of the whole cultist bigotry thing will be addressed with Gideon and Morningsong, but the worst of it will be with the Goodmen bunch and the Breeding brothers.

Sounds like a lot of heavy stuff to cover, but I'll be sure to keep the humor in there too. Maybe some soft serve for the fic wifey.

Meh I feel like these little explosions have just piled up and piled up and have prevented my creativity to thrive. I won't have what I wanted finished for tomorrow (though I plan to have something published).

I have a whole story here with Afterburn 2 & 3 and its world pretty much built, but the real world sucks so much ass and has sucked ass for me since last year.

I apologize to those very few waiting for Afterburn 8. It will come, and I will keep writing beyond 8 (I need to). I have some Jairo (and their story/world) on the stove as well. I've got other non-Afterburn/non-UVCniverse stuff I want to write too. ETA: Being the ornery empath that I am, my brain (and body) is fried from all of the pain in the world. Forgive the repetition and the small mistakes I will make.

I hate this world. But I'm supposed to be getting a fat box of Wednesday stickers for my funky Turkish album today, so there's that.

Did you care? I'm sure you must care about this social issue too, since you care about the environment so much. But as to your Ask, I just have to say:

Not only that, but AI has helped me immensely. It's not just therapeutic and entertaining, it's useful to me. Four+ fucking stories I've had lingering in my bare bones notes here because my fucking ex dumped my shit have been researched in ways that I could not have done myself with so little time to weed through a shit ton of Google results to decide if they're good or bad (science and history, I'm writing a dystopian novel...well, more than one). Gemini will gimme the summary AND its references. And I'm not fucking dumb, so I can recognize a bad link (like that idiot "film critic" who said Jenna Ortega was headed for an Oscar nod for WSSF 🤦🏽‍♂️).

I'm trying to write down as much as I can before I die, which could be sooner than later if they take my medical away. If that means I have to use ChatGPT to find out what was happening on a certain day Manhattan (and the world) in 1912 before the Titanic sank while some other fuckface is using it to create dick photos, I'M GOING TO USE IT. I need to put the images in my head down, and I don't have the time or the hand power to do that anymore.

Anti-AI people are becoming like the preachy vegans; while the cause is noble, it's also futile. You're not going to be able to stop people from using it, from the lowest form of frivolous pursuits (ours) to the larger companies now using AI for every damn thing.

I've been using AI since the very beginning here. The app used for all of the "comics" I used to do literally has AI in its name. I used it in the audio plays too, and am using it so much that I DO pay a little bit a month to be able to use sites like ElevenLabs.

ETA: I was almost done with this post before my thumb slipped and fucking deleted the almost-done version (I just needed to post one more photo...it had tags and everything, but I didn't save that version). So you get what you get, and TLDR; For you and the others who hate AI, I'm just gonna have to be one of those assholes next to the other asshole who just doesn't have it in me to deprive myself of convenient knowledge or entertainment. 🤷🏽‍♂️

And it was designed in a very meh way, especially the figures that come with. I'm not going to be using those figs. I have my own, but I'll probably buy some custom pieces for the flooring and Enid's side of the room (she needs more plushies).

And as much as they're gonna use it for their purposes, Imma use it for mine. There's gonna be cop jizz all over that bed.
