Caleb's return
Caleb's return has finally been officially teased, but I'm still seeing a lot of folks confused about how he can return. Personally, I think the last chapter of the story sets his return up perfectly and might even suggest why he has been gone so long.
So let's get into it!
(This is going to get fairly long and include a handful of screenshots as supporting evidence, so follow below the cut)

So, in the last chapter, "Prologue to tomorrow - Eye of the Storm", the MC hunts down fragments of an Aether core that can manipulate space, called the Spatium core.
Right after Jenna points out that the center fragment of the Spatium core is still missing, she pulls MC to the side and tells her "there is more" before sending her the "Ever Secret Investigation report" and revealing there is information regarding what happened at Grandma's house in the report. The way Jenna leads into the topic suggests that a Spatium core fragment may have been involved, which could certainly explain how Caleb survived!

In the next scene, MC is outside, it starts raining, and the eye appears in the sky. This time the color of the eye bears a striking resemblance to Caleb's eyes. The MC says her heart responds to that eye. "The CALL I hear becomes clearer." The MC also says that behind the eye lies the power of the aether core.

It's not just the visual resembelance that connects the eye to Caleb. The teaser of Calebs's return being titled "When Home Calls" seems to be a pretty clear callback to that "call" the MC heard from the eye at the end of the last chapter. Especially considering it was the last thing to happen in the story before the update that will bring Caleb's return.

Of course, we dont yet have verification that the eye is connected to Caleb. However, it's noteworthy that the first eye's first appearance (chapter 1, story 9) is when Caleb was checking in on MC. It first starts raining unexpectedly, then Caleb calls, and when they hang up, MC notices the eye outside her window. (Originally, it was assumed by many this eye was related to Sylus, but Sylus uses Mephisto to spy, and since Sylus's release, there has been no indication that the eye is related to him.) Perhaps this is top secret military tech (funded by Ever) Caleb got access to thanks to his work at the DAA.

Now, about the Aether core that the MC sensed beyond the eye...
We don't know for sure whether Caleb was part of the same experiments as the MC, but it seems likely. From the "World Underneath - Sealed in Dust" story we know that MC and Caleb were both taken in by Josephine at the same time after the Chronorift Catastrophe. In her report, Josephine implies that she never planned on kids and took in the MC primarily due to guilt from the experiments. So it is unlikely she would have chosen to take in a random boy for no reason.
Some of the wording in the story imply there were more test subjects. Based on the nature of the project, I would guess the other test subjects are either children that displayed similar conditions/symptoms, or children they placed modified protocore/aether core fragments in attempting to recreate the results they got from the MC, their subject 001.
If we accept that Caleb could have been a test subjects, there is a fair chance he has an Aether core, or something like it.

Now for some theories!
My guess is that Caleb recieved the missing Spatium core fragment during the experiments.
While the Sylus chapters more or less confirmed Ever is ultimately behind the explosion, their motivation is unclear. Were they just tying up loose ends, or were they trying to also trigger the MC's/Caleb's aether cores?
Wether intentional or not, it seems likely Caleb survived the explosion thanks to the Spatium core. Now the real question is, where did it take him? We know that the spatium core has the power to create what are essentially pocket dimensions built from dreams or memories. Could he be trapped there? It could explain why he hasn't returned all this time despite being alive. Will the MC need to go in there to get him out?

What if unlike the space the MC got trapped in with Zayne that was built on his nightmares, Caleb's space is built on his dreams...? And the MC seeing it is the catalyst for their relationship shifting?

Nonprofits & Social Media Presence
Connor G
Social media is a vital resource for the success of nonprofit organizations. AIDS project Rhode Island is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting people with AIDS and spreading awareness on the issue.
On Instagram, they have almost 700 followers. However, their posts typically get views within the 20-30 range and minimal likes. They have 917 posts, and the last one was in September of 2024, which means they are active but not consistently posting. https://www.instagram.com/p/DAa-e8DNPS_/?igsh=ampjaWcwMXQ2YWN6
On Facebook, they have 4.2k followers, however they still get a minimal amount of likes on posts, sometimes even 0. They have many posts and their most recent was December 5th, 2024, suggesting that this is their most active social media platform. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/162B8wZLRr/
Twitter is similar to Instagram with less than 500 followers, very few likes and the views rarely breaking past double digits. They have 1,223 posts on Twitter. However, the last one was made in June of 2023, suggesting that it has been abandoned for other platforms.

One unavoidable reason for the lack of interaction is the limited scope. By being a Rhode Island based organization, it really limits the people it serves from all people with AIDS down to just locals in the smallest US state. While this is an inevitable setback, there are still ways to have a more successful social media presence.
My biggest suggestion would be to make more videos. A majority of the posts I found were infographics or flyers announcing events, but there was very little to interact with. By making videos and relating more to the public, it would be far better for engagement and make the organization seem more human and approachable. It would also help to have more personal stories. From the posts alone I have no sense of what they’re fighting for, just that there are a lot of events and fundraisers going on.
It would be helpful to have pinned posts on their social media accounts that explain what they do and link to the websites to help accessibility. All of the platforms feature a link to the website in the bio, but having it included in posts would be a benefit, as posts are likely what a viewer will see first if not looking for the account already.
A channel metric for Instagram specifically would be utilizing stories. It is an avenue that reaches more people and is not as formal or choreographed as a full post due to its temporary nature. It is also a highly used feature of Instagram and would be beneficial to keep up with. A channel Metric on Twitter and Facebook would be the Communities. Communities are a more collaborative form of social media as they allow people to interact with each other. This creates a stronger connection amongst members and will likely help the growth of the charity by attracting people looking for a sense of belonging in the group. A behavioral metric to track on all platforms would be the click-through rate. With links to the AIDS Project RI website and other affiliated websites, it would be helpful to track how many people view the website and from where they reached it. This will tell them from which website they are getting the most interaction. For an advanced metric, using tracking where your views are coming from within the websites is vital. By knowing who views what, it can be determined whether the posts have the effect of reaching the intended audience.

What is the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Cloud (VDI Cloud)?
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Cloud Explained
Virtual desktop infrastructure, or VDI, is the use of virtual servers to provide and maintain virtual desktops.Operating systems are centrally located and made readily available to end users via VDI.
How does the VDI cloud function?
In virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), a hypervisor divides servers into virtual machines, which in turn host virtual desktops that users can access remotely from their devices. These virtual desktops are accessible to users from any location or device, and the host server handles all processing. A connection broker, a software-based gateway that stands between the user and the server, is how users connect to their desktop instances.
Advantages of the VDI cloud
Accessibility: Users of VDI can access their virtual desktops from any place or device, making it simple for employees to access all of their files and programmes and conduct remote work from any location.
Security: Data is stored on the server rather than the end client device in a VDI setup. If an endpoint device is ever stolen or compromised, this serves to protect data.
Cost Savings: Device hardware requirements are decreased as work is moved to servers. Because older machines can run virtual desktops at a lower cost, new hardware will need to be purchased in the future.
Centralization: The centralized format of VDI makes it simple for IT to patch, upgrade, or configure each virtual desktop in a system.
Disadvantages of the VDI cloud
Requirements for highly skilled IT employees: DaaS (Data as a Service) or a cloud-based VDI would be an option for a small business to put up the actual VDI server. If this is not the case, a qualified member of the IT team will be required to install software, maintain servers, and perform other tasks.
High initial investment: VDI hardware and apps can be costly. You might need to collaborate with a specialist to plan the transfer of your workforce using special, specialized programs, or you might need to switch to distinctly new apps.
How can VDI be implemented?
The scalability and excellent performance of HCI are a perfect fit for VDI’s resource requirements; hence, larger companies should consider this when planning for VDI implementation. Yet, for businesses that just need a few hundred virtual desktops, building HCI for VDI is probably not necessary (and would be expensive).
Here are the best methods that should be followed when installing VDI:
Recognize the needs of your end users: What performance needs do your users have? Users who use graphics-intensive applications require a different setup than users who only require access to the internet or a few basic applications.
Implement a pilot test: Most virtualization providers provide testing tools that you can use to run a test VDI deployment prior to deploying your resources; this is required to ensure that you’ve provided your resources efficiently.
Limit your provisioning: Capacity planning should be done in advance, utilizing a performance monitoring tool to understand the resources that each virtual desktop consumes and to ensure users are aware of your overall resource consumption requirements.
Get Your Network Ready: Since network performance and VDI performance are so closely related, it’s critical to understand peak usage periods and prepare for demand surges to ensure adequate network capacity.
Summary
For medium- and large-sized enterprises, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) is crucial. The cost of acquisition is reduced, and management is consolidated. Despite the fact that it must be operated by highly qualified people, it is nevertheless more accessible and offers better backup security than conventional desktops.

As a non-American whose only experience of jeopardy are screencaps from tumblr and three (3) SNL clips, I don't understand jeopardy at all like? How do you win? You bzz bzz a statement and give another statement and they go wweee like wtf was rhat what's going on what i don't what huh what?
okay please understand i am not making fun of you but good lord i’ve been watching jeopardy since i was about two because my grandma used to watch it religiously and she’d babysit me and my whole family it was like. a bonding time in my youth so seeing someone who thinks this is what it is is like. a bit of a trip. anyway i am going to attempt to explain something that is ingrained into my psyche since childhood for the nonamericans who Don’t Get It please stand by sorry if this is confusing
okay, based on this post i think your biggest point of confusion is actually how the question is answered. what they do is give you a statement and you have to give the answer in the form of a question, as opposed to other trivia shows where you just. answer the question. so think of it this way: if the clue they give you is something like (and i’m giving an answer i think a lot of people will be able to follow) “this pop star, who previously played hannah montana on a disney channel show, reached number one in 2013 with her hit wrecking ball.” the contestant would buzz in and answer “who is miley cyrus?” in order to answer correctly. like, you’re basically answering the question in reverse, which sounds confusing, but you get used to it.
there’s two rounds, jeopardy and double jeopardy (where the clues are worth double the points), and each round has *checks notes because somehow this still confuses me* six categories of five questions each, which can be literally anything. the questions go up in value (in the first round they’re worth $200-1000 each, going up by $200 intervals. in double jeopardy the amounts are doubled), and typically the lower value questions are easier and the high value questions are harder. if you answer it correctly the value of the question is added to your score. if you answer it incorrectly, it’s deducted. the only confusing bit here is that there’s one or two daily doubles (one in the first round, two in the second). if you answer a question correctly, you get to pick the next question that’s read, and if it’s a daily double you don’t have to compete against anyone (there’s usually three people who buzz in if they know the answer. in daily doubles it’s one person who can answer on their own, and they have a bit longer to think about the answer. also, they tend to be a bit more challenging, but that’s not always the case), and you can choose how much money you wager. if it’s a category you know nothing about you can bet nothing, if you think you’ll know the answer you can bet all of the money you’ve accumulated.
at the end of the two rounds, there’s final jeopardy, where the contestants all have to answer one question. they’re given a category and they make a wager based on how much money they’ve accumulated and if they think they know enough about the category. then the question is read and they have.....30 seconds?......to write down their answer. (also the final jeopardy music is iconic if an american asks you a question and it takes you a minute to answer and they start going da da daa da da da da daaaa it’s an inside joke with the whole country) if they get it wrong their wager is deducted from their score, if it’s right it’s added to their score. the player who at the end of all that has the highest score wins and is awarded however much money they won during the game and the opportunity to play again the next day (the other two players are given $2,000 if they came in second place or $1,000 if they came in third).
alright, that’s basically gameplay, or at least how i can explain it to the best of my ability, but i feel like also using this space to like. explain WHY it’s so universal here. so like, jeopardy is one of those shows that’s been running forever, on basic cable. i’m. not completely sure how it is in the rest of the world but we have like, pbs, which is a public nonprofit channel probably most similar to the bbc, but then we have like four or five for-profit channels that tend to be local broadcasts that you can usually pick up on antennas and may not even have to pay for, as opposed to cable packages which you can’t do that with. jeopardy airs on those local channels, so even if you didn’t have cable you probably have access to it. on top of that, it airs every weekday, usually at 7 or 7:30 (paired with wheel of fortune, which is another show that i think is more widely adapted and also i don’t want to get into here), which means it tends to be in the middle of local news and prime time shows that air nationally. so like, culturally, even if you don’t watch it regularly, it’s at sort of a weird time where everyone is usually home but not a whole lot is on, particularly on local channels, so you’ve probably at least caught the occasional episode. also, the show has been on since the 80s (and i think a bit before, but they kind of revamped it and the format hasn’t changed significantly since then, but i digress) and the host (who always struck me as a really good guy btw) just died, so it kind of feels like the end of an era. like i would use my one valid parasocial relationship card on mr trebek because he often ate dinner with the fam, and i think a lot of americans feel that way (even though the dude was actually canadian). so anyway, that’s the quick and dirty overview of jeopardy. it’s a good time

VMware Horizon DaaS for Service Providers
This post has already been read 36119 times!
Many organizations are nowadays busy with questions regarding the IT Cloud. It’s not the question if they want cloud services, but more when and how. Some organizations are still busy with Cloud strategy whilst other organizations are already embracing cloud with services like SaaS or IaaS.
One of the cloud related topics is around the virtual Desktop (DaaS). In this blog article we will be focusing on the VMware Horizon DaaS platform and why this platform is interesting for Service Providers to compete in the DaaS market.
So you are a Service Provider and maybe thinking about or already provide virtual desktops and applications to your customers. How do you provide multi-tenancy or keep the operating roles between you and your customers separated?
What is Horizon DaaS?
VMware Horizon DaaS, formally known as Desktone, is a Desktop-As-A-Service (DaaS) cloud solution built on VMware technologies and solutions to deliver cloud computing to users connected from any type of devices.
The first question around Horizon DaaS I often get from customers, is the way it differs from the Enterprise solutions like VMware View. Although many things are different between the two VMware solutions, they share the same Protocols like PCoIP and Blast. Also the agents within the virtual desktops are the same as in View. Both platforms can be used to deliver VDI desktops in a statefull (Static) or Stateless (Dynamic) scenario or deliver RDSH desktops and applications. Users have to ability to connect to their desktops from the VMware View client or use the web portal.
The table below shows a quick overview of some of the major differences between both products:
In this article I will explain two of most important differences for Service Providers:
Multi-tenancy
Demarcation within the platform
If you want to achieve a multi-tenant environment with VMware View or any other Enterprise VDI Solution, you probably have to have a dedicated environment per customer, resulting in many different environments with a lot of infrastructure components. All those different infrastructure servers must be managed which could be very time consuming.
Multi-tenancy
The VMware Horizon DaaS platform consists of multiple Linux based virtual appliances:
Service Provider Appliances – The Service Provider appliances provides the web based Management Console for overall management of the solution and act as a transit point for enabling SSH access to all management appliances within the data center.
Resources Managers – The Resource Managers appliances integrates with the Virtual Infrastructure and abstracts all specifics to the tenant appliances.
Tenant Appliances – The Tenant Appliances provides the Administrative and User portal to manage and access the customer (tenant) specific virtual desktop environment.
All appliances are managed by the Service Provider but only the Service Provider and Resource Manager appliances are part of the Service Provider network. The Service Provider network is typically a network where Active Directory, DNS and other services from the Service Provider itself are hosted. The Tenant appliances are participating in the network of the customer; this network is referred as the Tenant network.
For security reasons all appliances are connected to a backbone link local (BBLL) network for management purposes. This is a non-routable network within the 169.254.x.x IP range. The Service Provide is able to manage the Tenant Appliances from the Service Center portal (See Management Portals below) over the BBLL, however traffic between the Service Provider network and tenant networks is not possible.
To separate customer environments from each other, different vCenter (clusters), dedicated networking, storage, and compute can be used keeping things securely separated.
Tenant Appliances and virtual machines, either VDI desktops or a supporting infrastructure servers like Active Directory and File Servers, are all participating in the network and active directory domain of the customer. To enable access between the tenant environment in the cloud and the customer on-premises network, a VPN or MPLS can be used.
High Level Overview VMware Horizon DaaS
Management Portals
Another big difference between the two solutions is the way role separation is delivered. With a typical Enterprise VDI solution in a Service Provider scenario, there are a few design considerations:
Is the VDI solution part of the Customer Active Directory?
If the brokering platform is managed by the Service Provider, they need to have administrative permissions in the customer Active Directory.
The way role separation is arranged within the tooling.
How is the customer taking care of the images used in the VDI solution? vCenter access?
What to do with Service Accounts (security issue?)
Horizon DaaS comes with three different portals in total:
The Service Provider Portal (Service Center) is used by the Service Provider and integrates with the Service Provider Active Directory. This portal is not accessible to the customers and is used for overall management of the platform.
Each enrolled tenant in the Horizon DaaS platform has its own unique Enterprise Center portal where the customer can manage their own VDI environment, such as creating or editing patterns (images), creating or editing pools etc. The portal runs on the Tenant Appliances which is part of the Customer network and the customer Active Directory. Customers must use their own AD credentials to access Enterprise Center for administration.
The end-user’s portal also runs on the Tenant appliances. Users are authenticating with their regular AD usernames and passwords. The Service Provider typically doesn’t have an account in the domain of the customer and is unable to access the Enterprise Center and user portal.
Because each portal has its own functionality and the Service Provider and Tenant portals are using their own active directory domain, there is a very clear separation of roles and responsibilities. There is no integration between the Customer and Service Provider Active Directory which is a big advantage.
Conclusion
The solution as described in this blog will make hosting DaaS in a multi-tenant scenario very easy and keeping roles between the providers and customers very clear. Because of its architecture and automated deployment of new appliances, VMware Horizon DaaS is very easy to scale and very easy to onboard new tenants.
If you are not a Service provider but interested in VMware Desktops in the Cloud, there are multiple options from which you can choose:
Contact a Service Provider who has the VMware Horizon DaaS offering. For example XtraDesktop in the Netherlands
VMware Horizon Air based on the same software technology but operated by VMware.
VMware Horizon Air Hybrid mode, based on similar technology and enables unified management of on-premises virtual desktops and applications through a single cloud control plane.

Day 8: The Importance of Walkable Cities
August 23. University Village, Seattle.
There is something about American cities that is so.. pedestrian unfriendly. Every time I go to a big city for co-op, being car-less, I always manage to find myself walking, awkwardly, either along or under a freeway flyover. And in the latter case, the experience is often a rich combination of sight, sound, and most specially, smell.
Today, again, I find myself being fooled by a two-dimensional map, only to realize the only way forward is along a flyover. (Perhaps city maps can develop a way of telling people when there are sudden elevation changes, like when a stretch of road becomes a flyover and the land on its either side suddenly falls fifty feet.) Maybe I should mention that there IS a sidewalk along the road. But that does not make the journey pedestrian friendly at all. All that I felt while walking there, despite the beautiful scenery, is how out of place I am as a pedestrian, among all the cars that are zooming by. Nevermind the scenic views from the flyover, I don’t think they were framed intentionally for pedestrians.
But that was just the beginning. As I walked along the road, I see my destination right below the flyover. On the map, the University Village is indeed right next to 45th street, and I didn’t for a moment think about how I was going to get there from the road adjacent to it. You just cross the road and taa-daa! It should be right across the road, no? No. The flyover ends somewhere at the end of the university village “block”, but there is no way for pedestrians to simply cross the 45th street to get there. Instead, there was a parking lot right under the flyover, and pedestrians have to walk along the perimeter of the parking lot to get to the PEDESTRIAN entrance to the university village.
Now, a university VILLAGE, one would think, is somewhere near a university and most probably accessible by foot. But to my horror, that is not the case. Yet, there is a surprising amount of people here. Students, families, elderly people. Did they all get here by car? I did not see a single pedestrian walkway into the village from any neighborhood, not to mention from the university itself. It really might as well be an outlet mall in suburban Ohio. There is indeed, a huge block of parking garage beside the entrance. So I guess that says it all - the village, is indeed a village and village literally.
And this is not the first time I experienced pedestrian inaccessibility in Seattle. Yesterday, when I was trying to get to the Frye Art Museum, Google Maps had told me to get off the 512 metro in downtown and take a walk to the museum. I should have been mentally prepared when I saw the walk included crossing the I5 interstate highway. This time, I was walking UNDER the flyover. But as always, I am of the few awkward pedestrians walking alongside cars that are zooming by. What the hell am I doing here, was all I could think. This place is certainly not meant for pedestrians, even though there are sidewalks. Perhaps from a urban design point of view, there would be a logical way of explaining why that sidewalk is not pedestrian friendly. First off, the area was dark, being under at least 10 lanes of road. Secondly, the heavy industrial pillars supporting the flyover highway did not look friendly. Thirdly, the area was not well-kept. There was trash on the floor, and the area smelled of trash and urine. There was also no greenery. It was apparent that this area had been neglected by the local urban planning department.
The reason I am lamenting at length about pedestrian inaccessibility is this is not my first encounter with this problem in the United States, and each time this happens, it makes me question the social acceptability of my mode of transport, and of myself. Does walking in such a place suddenly render me a homeless, pathetic person? Is there a social stigma with not driving, is there a social stigma with simply, walking?
There are so many things that I like about America, but every time I come to a new American city, my excitement and anticipation is always met with disappointment with pedestrian accessibility. I guess this is why people have been looking to places like Amsterdam in Europe, because they do a much better job at making their cities pedestrian friendly. I had never given much thought about how important it is, until I experienced what pedestrian UNfriendliness feels like.
If Edward Hopper’s paintings convey desolation in the American manmade landscape, then there has to be a painting that conveys the existential crisis faced by walking in an American city.

Assignment 1 Task 1. Briefly explain the meaning of strategic leadership of human resources. Why is this important to a principal? What would this look like in practice? Use your readings and other resources to support your response. Task 2. Based on the policies you have read; do you believe that the development and implementation of policy is important to acquiring and leading human resources on your campus? Briefly explain why or why not? Task 3. Interview a principal, based on questions in tasks 1 and 2. Take notes, as needed. Write at least a half page reflection on what you learned from your interviews, discussing any differences, additions, or confirmations that were discovered. Interviews can be held face—to—face, by phone, Skype, or other accessible platform. (It is not required that the principal you interview, work in your school district). Task 4. Based on DAA (LEGAL), a district should not discriminate against an employee, based on a set of protected categories. In addition, this policy also states that a district has a duty to maintain a working environment free of harassment. In your role as principal, discuss how you would ensure compliance with both aspects of this policy. Why are they both an important part of your leadership? How could adherence to this policy, or lack thereof, impact your campus culture? A new principal of a high school begins to review the campus master schedule and notices that there are several teaching vacancies that must be filled. He calls a staff meeting and discloses this information to the staff, in order to inform them that he is working to resolve classroom—overcrowding issues. Later on that day, the principal discussed with his campus administrative team that the current staff appears to be aging, and he would like the interview committee to focus on hiring younger staff members in order to invigorate the environment. Based on this, he advises the team to pay close attention to younger candidates, or those likely to be younger candidates, when reviewing applicants. One of the staff members states that she has the perfect candidate; however, she thinks that he may have been engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a minor, which was in violation of the law. Despite this, she ensures everyone that the applicant is a very good person. The principal proceeds to prepare the posting, and submits the necessary forms for approval. The district posts the vacancy on the district website. Being that there is a preferred candidate, the principal suggests filling the vacancy in the next 5 days. Based on your knowledge of policy, list some of the concerns with this principal’s actions. Refer to the specific policy that supports your concern. Briefly explain how would you address the ethical concerns and decision making in this scenario. Task 6: Policy Scenario 2 A teacher at an elementary school observes a large bruise on one of her student’s arm. She immediately asks the student if he is ok. He says yes, and responds by saying that he fell off of his bike. Later that day, the teacher over hears the student telling his friend that a relative, who stays at his home, hits him every day for no reason. The teacher informs you, as the principal, of this. How should you advise the teacher? Support your decision using policy. As a campus principal, what would you do to ensure that your campus staff is cognizant of the reporting requirements related to abuse? Why is this important? Assignment 1 Task 1. Briefly explain the meaning of strategic leadership of human resources. Why is this important to a principal?

Day 7: inaccessibility in American cities
There is something about American cities that is so.. pedestrian unfriendly. Every time I go to a big city for co-op, being car-less, I always manage to find myself walking, awkwardly, either along or under a freeway flyover. And in the latter case, the experience is often a rich combination of sight, sound, and most specially, smell.
Today, again, I find myself being fooled by a two-dimensional map, only to realize the only way forward is along a flyover. Maybe I should mention that there IS a sidewalk along the road.
Instead, there was a parking lot right under the flyover, and pedestrians have to make a round along the perimeter of the parking lot to get to the PEDESTRIAN entrance to the university village.
Now, a university VILLAGE, one would think, is somewhere near a university and most probably accessible by foot. But to my terror, I realized that is not the case. Yet, there is a surprising amount of people here. Students, families, elderly people. Did they all get here by car? I did not see a single pedestrian walkway into the village from any neighborhood, not to mention from the university itself. There is indeed, a huge block of parking garage right by the entrance. So I guess that says it all - the village, is indeed a village and village literally.
Now, this is not the first time I experienced pedestrian inaccessibility in Seattle.
The reason I have been lamenting at length about pedestrian inaccessibility is this is not my first encounter with this problem in the United States, and each time this happens, it makes me question the social acceptability of my journey, and of myself. Does walking in such a place suddenly render me a homeless person?
There are so many things that I like about America, like the vastness of its natural landscape, and the roads that stretch on forever. But not in the city. I guess this is why people have been looking to cities like Amsterdam in Europe, because they do such a good job at making their cities pedestrian friendly. I had never given much thought about how important it is, until I experienced what pedestrian UNfriendliness is.

A PeopleFinders Opt Out Strategy That Works
The PeopleFinders opt out process is not as simple as it looks.
We understand that if you’re someone who doesn’t want to be found on background check sites like PeopleFinders.com, learning how to opt out is very important.
But most people simply follow the opt out process on PeopleFinders.com and call it a day.
However, it’s crucial to understand how the site operates and acquires your information if you want to achieve your overall goal (keeping your personal information private).
Doing this will help you understand how to protect your information now, as well as keep things private in the future.
Whether you bristle at the thought of a stranger knowing your email address, or simply want to hide select information, taking control of the information displayed on sites like PeopleFinders.com is a great place to start.
What exactly are you opting out of?
Before you go through the PeopleFinders opt out process, let’s first talk about what the site actually is and how it operates.
According to the site, PeopleFinders is a top “Data-as-a-Service (“DaaS”) provider for consumers and businesses seeking detailed insights on people, places and things in the United States.”
Apparently, PeopleFinders is one of the largest owners of public records in the US with information on nearly every adult in the country. The company essentially acts as a database by aggregating information through, “unique access to other unique data sources”.
While the site doesn’t go into much detail about the channels that PeopleFinders accesses in order to gather data about those in its vast database, one can surmise that it’s a combination of public records, publicly accessible information from different social media platforms, and more.
This process is shared by a lot of personal information aggregation websites, which we have dealt with frequently as well. Most of them share a lot of the same tricks when it comes to finding information.
So what’s the point of Peoplefinders.com and sites like it? Those in favor of sites like Peoplefinders.com say they can be a great tool to provide some initial research into a person.
Whether you are looking to hire an employee and want to make sure that their resume is accurate, or verify that your parent’s care-taker is who they claim to be, background checks can be helpful.
However, many more think that these sort of sites go too far in what they make available. Not only is the amount of information concerning, but the ease that it can be accessed.
It’s also important to keep in mind that these sites (particularly the more DIY versions like Peoplefinders) aren’t always accurate. This is one more reason to go through the PeopleFinders.com opt out steps.
A common question
Issues with PeopleFinders.com are not uncommon. While most people wonder how this site gets their information in the first place (answered above), many others want to know if this is even legal.
Unfortunately for you, yes it’s legal. Unless the information is obtained using illegal methods, site like PeopleFinders can operate free and clear of legal backlash.
If you’re someone who values their privacy significantly, this obviously isn’t what you want to hear. The best thing you can do is learn the game. Understand the entire PeopleFinders opt out process, and how you can protect your information better in the future.
There are limits to what these sites can do legally. All of them have to honor your opt out request. Take advantage of this and use some other simple tricks (covered below) to make sure you don’t have to worry about this sort of thing anymore.
The PeopleFinders opt out process – step by step
Peoplefinders.com gives users the ability to block their records from showing up in the databases that they control by choosing to “opt out”. However, this feature does not include blocking information from third party databases.
After clicking the link above, enter your information and find the current listing for your name. Once you find the correct entry associated with your name, click that entry then choose “opt out my info”. From here you will type in your email address to verify your identity, and complete peoplefinders opt out process.
There is one big caveat to be aware of with this process. While submitting this opt out request won’t remove your information from third party sources, it will likely block what people will see associated with your name when this site comes up as a search result.
However, to really prevent people from seeing this kind of personal information from sites like PeopleFinders.com, you need to come up with a long-term strategy.
The most effective strategy by far is one that focuses on building up your online presence to ultimately suppress those results that you don’t want people to find.
The most effective strategy
Let’s talk about why simply going through the PeopleFinders.com opt out process is not enough, and why some additional effort is needed.
Today, everyone gets Googled. As a matter of fact, over a billion names get Googled every single day! So, when search results that share private or unflattering information start appearing when your name is searched, it’s time to take action – because someone is definitely going to see it.
Unfortunately, your options for recourse are limited.
In the case of dealing with an entry on PeopleFinders.com, you do have the option of petitioning the website to block your information through their “opt out” feature. However, this doesn’t mean that other sites similar in mission won’t share this same private information in the future.
Remember earlier when we said a lot of these sites use the same strategies? Well, if PeopleFinders.com got your information, there’s a good chance another site will too.
That’s why after completing the PeopleFinders opt out request, it’s important to get started on the most effective long-term solution to this problem.
The great thing is that this process doesn’t have to be time-consuming.
How to do it
Once you’ve gone through the PeopleFinders opt out process, we recommend you follow a specific process to keep your information from being seen in the future.
The first thing we do is encourage people to build out their personal brand following SEO best practices. We take great pains to thoroughly explain each step in detail, so that you understand how to do it and why each step is important.
From a high level, the basic principles revolve around these three steps: scan, build, and monitor.
Scan
While we already know that one search result is your entry on PeopleFinders.com, do you know what else is out there? As we discussed before, there are many other sites like PeopleFinders that you need to be aware of, and scanning for them is how you do this.
To properly scan, you can manually type in your name to Google (or another search engine) to see what the top results are for your name. Make sure to search incognito as your results will be slightly biased based on your search history and open accounts.
Make note of rankings for pages that are important to you. If you want, you can streamline the scanning process by automatically pulling your results and tracking them with our free DIY tool.
This will help you stay aware of site similar to PeopleFinders if they start to rank highly, or show up anywhere in your search results.
Build
To build an online presence that shares accomplishments and information about you that you want others to see, start by creating (or optimizing existing) professional profiles on what we have found to be the strongest social media platforms.
This will help you outrank and suppress any listings from sites like PeopleFinders.com so your information isn’t seen while you go through the opt-out process. Again, our free DIY tool shows you the best steps to take when creating social media accounts that you want people to find when they look for you online.
In addition to these profiles, it’s also a great idea to create a website for yourself. The whole reason why you need to request an opt out from PeopleFinders is because you aren’t in control of the information.
With your own sites and properties, you get that control back.
Take all of the steps necessary to give your sites and profiles the best opportunity to rise in the search result rankings. Building and optimizing profiles and sites that you control is important, but it’s a process that takes time.
If you want to get the full effect from this strategy, be prepared to continue updating these properties and even building new ones regularly. This part of the process is huge for dealing with sites like PeopleFinders that you don’t want others to see when they look you up online.
Monitor
Once you’ve built your initial foundation, you must commit to monitoring your presence regularly. Staying on top of this will help you protect yourself from unwanted information listings and give you the ability to opt-out of sites like PeopleFinders.com immediately once they show up.
Also, once you have created your your profiles and website you want to keep an eye on them to make sure they are ranking well. Unfortunately, manually monitoring everything can become quite time consuming.
This is why we highly recommend using our free DIY tool to help you monitor what search results are coming up for your name.
If a site like PeopleFinders.com shows up you will be notified quickly so you can opt out and protect your information.
The newest feature in our DIY tool (the social scanner) also lets you monitor your Facebook and Twitter accounts for any posts that you’ve made that can be polarizing or offensive.
Whether you choose to use BrandYourself’s services or not, find whatever method works best for you to keep track of how your properties are ranking, what others are posting on your sites, and how frequently you are posting high quality content.
The value in being proactive
While the main goal of this post is to show you the best path when going through the PeopleFinders opt out process, we hope we made it clear how important it is to be proactive.
We recommend that you learn more about how to control your online reputation and the implications it can have on all facets of your life.
If you want some help making sure everything stays private, make sure you check out our free DIY tool. It will give you everything you need to stay on top of PeopleFinders.com and sites like it. Freeing up time and using the features available means you won’t have to rely on the PeopleFinders.com opt out process entirely.
Remember
Discovering that (seemingly) personal information is publicly available about you online is not the end of the world – even if it feels like it is. Start by using the PeopleFinders opt out method, and then get on top of things so you don’t have to play catch-up in the future!

How much Microsoft Exam dumps are beneficial to pass exam?
I’ve recently passed the 70-534 exam and I truly need to share these experiences since I wish I had this data before taking the exam (and hadn't squandered correction time on material that does not have any kind of effect and does not help much in setting you up for the exam!). Here are a few clues and tips that may help you.
Why this certification?
As described in the title, the Azure 70-534 certification, part of a larger certification (MCP), is actually the latest (and the most complex in my opinion) Azure certifications. The success of this review recognize that you are able to identify cloud and hybrid solutions properly with Azure Solutions, technologies and techniques. Specifically, it brings you to another theoretical and practical broader type of learning. This test is primarily intended to cover all major Azure services and technologies, so all Azure card accounts, including all tools that can be deployed on the premises, such as Azure Site Recovery, DAA Connect, etc.
What do you need to know?
At the time of passing the exam there are still old classic portal and references PaaS services, so the subject and subject measured skills are largely focused on the "classical" Azure PaaS services.
Design Azure Resource Manager (ARM) networking (5–10%)
Secure resources (20–25%)
Design an application storage and data access strategy (5–10%)
Design advanced applications (20–25%)
Design Azure Web and Mobile Apps (5–10%)
Design a management, monitoring, and business continuity strategy (20–25%)
Architect an Azure Compute infrastructure (10–15%)
Microsoft continues to take its time to change the certification exam and have recently changed the structure of this test from last year in November '16. Judging by the new structure of the 70-534 exam, it is clear that the focus will be on the new portal and technologies instead of the old one. So, stay strong, and always check the test page for updates on changes.
Important Tips (...before you start learning)
This is a very difficult exam and requires intensive study.
The test covers all areas described in the survey summary. Literally! There is at least one question of each chapter.
You need a practical Azure experience before attempting this test, there is no way to avoid it.
More than half of the questions currently focus on traditional portal services and mainly PaaS.
Very concentrated (at the time of writing): in mobile applications, WebApps, DAA, SQL, ServiceBus and scaling. If you have no experience with these, you will have difficulty trying out questions.
You must have experience with PowerShell and you need to understand how some watercourse creation and deployment work: web application implementation, deployment of mobile applications, upgrades and automation, etc.
Microsoft recently announced that it will change the review structure from the end of November, it will focus a little more on IaaS and the new ARM in place of the old and classic PaaS website.
Make sure you really need this review, you may want only the certification infrastructure, in which case you want the 70-533 exam.
Learning Resources:
The best resource that helped me was a Test4practice Microsoft study material course. Resources Excellent!! I highly recommend it.
Test4practice and other related chapters for 5 courses. I found this course to be amazing and really helpful, but is not the only resource you need to look at.
Examstraining courses give you a first look, but covers all sections, but do not go too much to explain the depth of all the concepts. However, it is a good start.
Watch videos, as many as you can, especially those with a practical touch:
https://mva.microsoft.com/
You need to READ!! A lot. Here are some references:
https://borntolearn.mslearn.net/certification/
http://www.elearningexams.com/
https://www.test4practice.com/70-534-practice-test.html
You need to know and understand these limits: and Azure services plans. If you master these, you will have 20-30% of questions.
Identify your weaknesses and write them as much as possible. For example, mine were mobile applications, web apps, machine learning and spent more time reading everything about them and even did some testing on the web and the PowerShell console.
You need to buy the Microsoft Test4practice practice exam. Its shows you how to be the test and what to expect. He helped me a lot.
The day before, read about Azure services. Know what they are doing and how they interact with other MS services. Know any tool that integrates to deliver services and to Azure: Recovery Sites, DRM, System Center - Operation Manager, DirSync and DAA Connect tool.
Again, some special problems continue to be repeated by exam questions: DAA, Service Bus, Mobile Applications, Web Applications, VPN Types, Media Services, SQL Azure, Scaled, Disaster Recovery and any Azure it is so good.
Tips for During the Exam:
Reports from all those who have enough time to complete the exam. Well ... you really do not have enough time!
Manage your time accordingly because it has 40 questions in 150 minutes and a large number of case studies to read.
Again, read the case study thoroughly to find the right answers through identifying the wrong answers it is in the summary / operational requirements / technical requirements.
The questions are very complex and take time to answer. Case studies (5-6 Questions for case study) is set so that once you answer you cannot go back. You need at least 20-30 minutes for each case study and there are at least 3.
Take notes and read the limits, sizes and Azure Services plans right before you enter so you can quickly write them on a paper / cardboard review. This will be your "cheat" and take your mind away from stressful issues do not forget during the.
Take your time and again the answers. Many times I changed the answer because I understood more through other issues in the same case study.
For some questions that had absolutely no idea! Use logic and try to eliminate some of the wrong answers. Some answers are far from right, usually 2 are closer to the truth.
Use all the time available to answer, as a good bonus question can make a difference. As he did for me.
The minimum score is 700/1000, so fight for each question you can answer correctly.
Conclusions for passing the exam. For the lazy!
Test4practice 70-534 courses. Just rocks!
The Test4practice 70-534 test engine practical experience for most Azure features is essential, try for yourself at least once.
Know the plans, levels, limits and SLAs Azure services.
Purchase Test4practice Microsoft Practice Test. They help a lot.
See the additional videos and read the important issues mentioned above, from mva.microsoft.com and passin1day.com
