anyway hmmm i'm going to cheat by including a Dick POV section that I am probably gonna end up cutting, because i like it but i also worry that it slows down the dialogue?

excerpt below the cut! the only context that you need is that Dick and Tim have been having the "should Tim call if there's danger in Gotham" argument again (Tim's position is "no"), partly because they both have genuine positions on this argument, but also because it enables them to sublimate an emotional conflict into a work conflict and thus avoid talking or thinking about their feelings, which is a shared pathology goal:

Dick would bet Tim never mouthed off to Bruce like this.  One of the many things that suck about being the knock-off Batman is that none of Dick’s orders really stick.  All of the responsibility without the authority to back it up.  At least when Dick was leading the Titans, they did what he freaking told them. …Mostly. …Okay, sometimes. He’s never been good at losing people gracefully.  Pushing Kory for marriage when she was already pulling away, trying to cling to her instead of letting her go.  Giving ultimatums after Tartarus, when he knew the team already resented his orders.  Making decisions behind Vic’s back, trying to force him to stay.  It’s an ugly bad habit, picked up from Bruce: things are slipping, and your people are mad at you, so you get scared, and then you get authoritative and controlling so you can hang onto them, except you can’t control them, so then they get even angrier and you lose them anyway.   It’s easy to see in Bruce, hard to see in himself, but he knows it’s there.  He barely managed to catch himself in time, with the Titans.   Is he doing the same thing to Tim?  Does he need to back off? But Gotham is risky.  Tim’s always been capable, obviously, but…it’s okay to be a bit authoritative, isn’t it?  Tim should call if there’s someone who looks unusually dangerous.  That’s just common sense.  Dick’s not asking for miracles, here.

Let me tell you all a little story.

My little brother was young, I was young (I don't recall what precise age, but somewhere around 5 for him and 9 for me), and our household at the time was pretty lively most of the time people were home. For reference, our living room, kitchen, dining area, and stairwell were all openly connected, with the only wall residing between the kitchen and then living room.

Our dining area was the access to the garden via sliding glass door, so it was always well-lit during the day, and the furniture consisted of a large wooden table, chairs, and a shelf with a 20 gallon fish tank on it.

WELL ONE DAY business is going about as usual, everyone's mulling about the gaff, when this massive crash comes from the dining room. My mother heard it first, rushing to the scene to deter anyone from approaching the affected area.

I come bolting down the stairs with all the pent-up energy of a 9 year-old boy who heard a catastrophic sound, and when I reach the scene of the crime, I see the following:

My mother, standing towards the edge of the dining room in complete disbelief and/or (let's be honest, it's both) horror, revving her maternal engines to deal with this as well as she can;

My brother, standing next to the fish tank, with a smile that seemed like he had just drank a quart of his beloved chocolate milk (which is another story);

And about 10 gALLONS OF WATER AND THE OCCASIONALLY SPACED DANIO FISH LOITERING CASUALLY ON THE FLOOR, WHO HAD ASSUMABLY JUST COME FROM THEIR 12 TO 12 IN THE FISH TANK THROUGH THE NEWLY INSTALLED ENTRANCE OF A MASSIVE 6 INCH HOLE

Now you must understand, outside of the glass doors leading to the garden sat a concrete patio to stand on (or sit or dance or do whatever you're into I suppose), and flanking that patio on either side is a rock patch full up on well over fist-sized rocks.

See, what had happened, as evidenced by the new resident of the fish tank (a rock the size of my little brother's head), was that my little brother had taken a massive rock into the house, and thought to his little self, 'hm, what can one do with a rock', and then proceeded to SMASH the ROCK into the FISH TANK. WITHOUT HESITATION.

So overall, my brother nearly replaced the 'two birds, one stone' metaphor with 'screw it, rocks'll take out anything'.

im curious whats playing a warlock like? does your patron interact w u? i intentionally avoided warlock and paladin cuz im playing a dark urge (their name is raktum its "blood" in telugu yippee) and i didn't wanna complicate it too much

i really wish your patron interacted with you sdfsdfsd but no they don't. there don't seem to be any major non-battle/build differences to idk playing a wizard or sorcerer (anybody w a high arcana thing ig) i think, except you get special choices when you speak to wyll sometimes and chars like ethel will say smth about your pact 🤷‍♀️

of course, im only in act 1 still, so maybe there is something later???

It’s soo funny how everyone in milgram hates when they're treated as someone young. Amane complains about Es not taking her seriously at 12yo, Yuno dislikes her treatment as a naive little girl, Es is constantly reminding the prisoners to stop viewing them as a child -- Because if I was a kid there, I’d bring it up literally every chance I got. I’d be like “you’re gonna accuse tiny little me of murder? 🥺 I'm just a little guy! 🥺 How could you be mean to a cute lil guard like me? 🥺”

Francis doesn’t mind Halloween over all as an American tradition, though its the candy that comes with it he’s the most fond of. The aesthetic and weather of October he enjoys, the decorations, the ambiance of it, cool weather, change in colors and again all the candy. Didn’t celebrate Halloween in France, where he lived trick or treating and traditional Halloween celebration wasn’t a thing. 

They did have La Toussaint, All Saints Day followed by Le Jour des Morts, Day of the Dead (Nov 1-2). Had a bit of a culture shock in general when he came to the states though young. 

If he has to dress up, he’d be wearing something very casual, vest, dress pants and dress shoes along with wolf ears and a tail. Style his hair a bit, in a ponytail with his bangs slicked back or just a simple ponytail on its own and that’s about it. Go as a wolf but casual, he’s not going to go all out in costume so this is the next best thing. Still a higher chance he’d yank off the ears and tail.

Shockingly enough, I don't have a playlist for Maleane, but I do have one for Malstarion! I went through my spotify and found the songs that fit Mal the best:

'I am not a woman, I’m a god' by Halsey

'Love into a Weapon' by Madalen Duke

'Flicker (Kanye West Rework)' by Lorde

The first song encapsulates Mal's dual nature, the split between what she shows and what she actually feels. There's contradiction aplenty, she is torn between not knowing what she truly wants and feeling entitled to whatever feels 'right' to take. She's simultaneously both, a powerful manipulative sorceress and a deeply traumatized woman.

The second song relates more to her darker side. When she feels justified in her cruel actions, the apathy. She might pretend to be a sweet flower, swooning at the sight of her sweetheart, but beneath hides a calculating siren that won't shy away from spilling blood if she feels wronged.

And 'Flicker' is just such a perfect wrap up. For a brief moment in time Mal (just like everyone's Tav) was pretty much the most important person in the world. The hero of Baldur's Gate. The whole song gives me major Act 3 vibes when it comes to Mal and her journey.

             perhaps she should feel some kind of remorse regarding her actions --- feel wrong in the way that wet fabric rests against their thigh as she grinds herself down against them as they rest in their bed. except she doesn’t, not even a little bit... mind too full of haze & desperation for that sort of critical thinking. in her defense, they were the only reason she even got this idea in the first place. sure, maybe it was shana who said something about how tempting their thighs were after seeing them unclip their stockings from their garter after the two of them returned to their apartment post-work banquet. but it was the elder who made the joking statement   ‘feel free to help yourself to anything here ---- even me... awake or not’   before winking at her & retreating to their room. so after a couple of hours of tossing & turning on the guest bedroom, she made soft steps towards their bedroom. having originally planned something witty to say if the other woke up, the petite brunette was now far too gone in order to do that, a veil of lust wrapped around her mind. shana barely noticed when one of their hands drifted up her thigh before resting along her hip.   “fuck...”   word moaned out as their head turns to look at them--- unsure if they were still asleep or not, the moonlight doing a poor job of lighting the room.

I don't know what's worse; them knowing that Jekyll is the ghost and has amnesia, them just knowing that it is Jekyll, or them just thinking it is a random ghost???? Them being so incredibly pissed at Henry, Henry having no idea what he did??? Henry thinking he maybe caused the accident somehow despite being nowhere near the lab, feeling so incredibly guilty bc now Maijabi is hurt and it is all his fault and this could have gone so wrong and AHHHHHHHHHHHH... The lodgers forcefully banishing Henry from the Society to keep him from hurting more people since he hurt literally the only one that wanted to help him, maybe they didn't even have to banish him bc Henry just left incredibly scared and paranoid, Maijabi wakes up/recovers fairly quickly and is allowed back in his lab wondering where tf Henry went bc Henry always hangs around the lab??? Maijabi overhearing the Lodgers talking about how good it is that the ghost finally left after they hurt Maijabi???? Maijabi being incredibly confused bc Henry was nowhere near the lab and he knew exactly what he did that caused the accident anyways???????????? Maijabi going back to Henry's place of death/grave in hopes of finding him, finding him curled up exactly like when he chased him down there the first time, Henry refusing to get close bc he is convinced he hurt him bc the Lodgers said that????? Maijabi having to coax him out???? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

the issue i have with a fic is that it has different sex acts happening across months and even years (nation-people time)... what i have trouble deciding is not the acts themselves (already decided), is the order of the acts, meant to atypical: is a "game" more than actual dating, at least during the start—"we are NOT a couple, we are NOT..." i'm looking at the list i wrote before and i don't agree with the order anymore sdfsdfsd
