They were told to investigate the murder of an informant and by looks of the detail the port mafia made the perfect suspect. With Ranpo busy on another case and kunikida out to fill the annual report, dazai took Y/N to be the perfect candidate.

As they passed the police tapes Y/N felt the sudden urge to puke, luckily she found a trash can near the alley. It felt wrong was she sick, was it food poisoning, or maybe the sight and smell of the dead body no that couldn't be it she'd seen so much worse or could it be... no it couldn't.

Dazai came looking like he knew it was the port mafia and even who was responsible.

"So we're done here"y/n said

" looks that way" dazai said

"Well i need to pickup a few things I'll see u back at ada then"

"where are u headed?"

"Oh just the store" y/n said trying to make it seem as normal and boring as possible.

"I'll come"

He just didn't want to do the typing work back at the office plus accompanying a co-worker didn't sound so bad.

They entered the store and dazai almost immediately strated trying out the glasses near the counter.

Y/N felt uneasy, she took the support of the counter while passing by, dazai noticed.

She couldn't be yes her period was late but maybe it would come tomorrow a week late wasn't that big of a deal or was it. She hadn't rly thought about it till now. she decided to take the test but that would mean buying them and with dazai at the counter he would surely notice but would it matter if he knew he could keep a secret right he looked like he'd kept many. Maybe she was overthinking it.

So she went over to the counter and bought two.

Dazai just looked.

She placed both tests below the sink and went out to see dazai sitting on one of the chairs meant for the workers. She sat on the other.

"So who's the father" he asks

"Oh you know"

Y/N decided to get a pack of cigarettes

She smoked sometimes when she got stressed. She was about to lit it when dazai came and took it out of her mouth.

"Hey" she said

"thats not good for the baby"

"i know, and there's no baby, not yet.

you should give me that back, maybe i dont want it, maybe smoking will kill it , if it even exists."

Dazai stands there listening playing with the cigarette in his hand.

"I can get an abortion there's always that choice. What would you do ?"

"Abortion would be an open option"

A few seconds go by

"Its too quite, say something"

"you're scared"

"No im not scared, im terrified. I never thought about wanting a kid, im not rly good with kids, i dont particularly like them either, they're rly hard to.. you have to raise them everything ill do it'll effect and be a part of them forever, gawd did 5 minutes always take this long"

"you'll be fine if your the only one but there's going to be the two of you"

"yeah he will be perfect"

"Can i be the Godfather" dazai asks eagerly

"hmm maybe, just maybe" y/n says as she goes to check.

She feels better a part of her now hoping its positive.

It turns out to be negative.

When she comes back out dazai hands her the cigarette.

Yes indeed I did search up about pregnancy for half an hour, because Ik Nothin, my moms sure gone get concerned by lookin at the search history, whatfun.
