#when team plasma is defeated

hey guys i've been playing through pokemon black and white (i borrowed a copy of white from my local library) and every time i play these games i always do it with a "Pip" and "Fluffy". Since the game would be unplayable if I kept Fluffy as a Swablu, I allow myself to evolve him into an Altaria when the time comes, but the whole point of Pip's character is that he doesn't evolve, because he just can't. Therefore, anytime I play a game that has Piplup in it, I use it without evolving it and treat it as my main Water-type Pokemon, sometimes even replacing my starter.

My question is this: I'm getting to a point in Pokemon White that it's getting a little too difficult for me to keep playing with Pip as he is (if I could only give him custom stats, I'd give him higher bulk and special attack with a small boost to speed so he'd be able to take more hits without being so helpless). Should I evolve him and forget about my little "anime challenge"?

I feel kinda bad, but since White isn't my game anyway, I don't feel as bad as if it were my own game, Pokemon Black or Black 2. I don't intend to evolve him in either of those games. Plus, if I evolve him in White, it would be as though, in another universe, Pip was born with the capability to evolve. I'll be able to teach him moves I couldn't teach him as a Piplup and pass those on to future eggs if I want to do any further breeding. It's just that I keep hesitating anytime he levels up and keep cancelling the evolution.

I've kinda found myself at a crossroads here...

Attack

“And remember: there is enough fuel in those rods for couple of maneuvers and a descent. That’s it.” Blitzwing said in a stern tone while adjusting some screws on minibot’s backplates. “I highly recommend you to not stray far away from your group for too long.”

He knew that his companion was not that reckless to go on adventures of his own on a battlefield, but it’s still difficult not to worry about mechs’ safety. Even if the targeting systems of an Autobots’ flagship "Endeavor" were supposed to be down by the beginning of an operation, its guns would still be working at full capacity.

Chances of being shot by a random plasma beam were still pretty high.

“I know, Blitzwing, I know,” said minibot sighed in defeat. His spirits were not that much higher than everyone else’s lately.

“But hey,” He continued, “Even if I wanted to, I doubt Megacon would allow me to go sightseeing without him… And if I indeed managed to do just that, my fear of withering away from his lecture about my recklessness definitely outweighs the fun of getting into troubles.”

Phew, third entry for the @blitzbee-week event has arrived at last. Prompt of a third day was "Attack", which turned out to be quite an interesting one to create a piece for. Eventually, I've decided to picture a scene of preparations for one of first major battles in a story of mine. Considering a fact that a mentioned scene takes place at the beginning of a second part/volume of a fanfic, I found it to be a good opportunity to show an evolution of relationship between characters (at least in comparison to previous entries).

Fanfic the scene is taken from is called "TFA: Icarus". You can read it by following a [link] for the series "folder" which also includes an existing teaser (future prologue) for a story. The updates are slow, I know, I am sorry for a delay, I was very busy with a job of mine lately and I do not know when the situation will change for better. Despite all of it, I'm still deeply grateful for every subscription and "like" you leave under works for this project of mine. Know that I see and appreciate every kind gesture of yours).

As always, if anyone is interested to know what's going on "behind the scenes" of a picture, I will provide the full snippet of a depicted interaction under a cut line. Hope you'll enjoy it. Especially those of you, who read previous "chapters" of mine, for you might find a reference here to one of them ;)

Bumblebee finally glanced at a Decepticon sitting on his haunches behind his back. The Warframe’s been checking on a Cybertronian analogue of a humans’ “parachute” for the last half of megacycle, trying to secure the massive carcass on a frame it was not meant to be worn by. 

“How’s it looking?” The Bot asked. Not out of vanity, for once, but rather out of practicality - a bleak, outdated “jetpack” was the smallest one they could salvage, and it’s still way too big for a mech of Bumblebee’s proportions. Several kilograms of metal more and it’d have begun to tip a yellow colored Autobot over. 

“… It’ll have to do.” 

A brisk, honest and not so uplifting answer. But, come to think of it, Bumblebee would’ve been more surprised to hear a reassuring comment coming from a Triplechanger. 

A notion that Bumbler was capable of periodically predicting Con’s responses almost made him chortle. The possibility of his team forming a bond with Warframes over the course of a stellar cycle after an escape from Cybertron was improbable at best. And yet, there they were - trying to work as a single unit despite ever present old grudges. 

For a goal they were fighting for together against a common foe was more important than any of their just (and unjust) beliefs.

The last comment earned him a snort from a companion.

“Yes, he tends to do exactly that. You’d be insanely lucky if that was the only punishment coming upon your helm,” Blitzwing agreed in a more lighthearted tone. “Especially since, it seems, Megatron’s already figured out where someone prefers to spend their shift at once in a while.”

“…what do you mean by that?” Bumblebee asked worriedly after a short lived pause - he could almost “see” a smirk plastered across Blitzwing’s faceplates with the back of his own helm. And if he’s learnt anything about a Con over the last orbital cycles, it’s that him being smug never promised anything good for a yellow and black Bot. 

“Let’s just say that if a certain hiding spot is indeed real, I’ll make sure to send you energon treats during a “home arrest” of yours.” Blitzwing mused out loud. A followed groan full of despair, which came from a small mech, made Blitzwing slip an amused laugh. 

And here a minibot hoped that Megatron would be any different than a so-called Bossbot of his.

Soon after the Trpilechanger’s done everything he could in order to make Bumbler’s descent to a flagship safer, a huge figure appeared at an entrance to a bay. Bumbler noticed a newcomer only when a said mech contacted him via personal comlink, voice commanding yet devoid of usual rasp undertones. 

“Time to go, minibot,” Megatron announced, as if wanting to make sure that his arrival was interpreted as a sign to wrap preparations up. It made both Cybertronians to pause their conversation and to look up at an arrived Decepticon. 

The red and grey mech stood with his servos being clasped behind his back, polished shoulder pauldrons proudly shining under a warm artificial light. One of his chest plates bared signs of a recent scuffle at one of remote outposts - the right side was adorned with a fresh wielding patchwork, performed by Ratchet himself, which hid an ugly and deep scar. 

The sight of a quickly healing wound reminded Bumblebee of an amusing memory he’d witnessed in a medbay the other day - Ratchet and Megatron bickering with each other about who’s a true madmech between two of them, while a medic was performing mentioned repairs. The fact that a Warlord received an injury during a rescue of a red and white Autobot, who stayed behind in order to cover their team’s escape, seemed to slip out of both of their processors. Ratchet was nigh unstoppable in his fury, and it seemed that Megatron’s finally found someone who could rival his own stubbornness. Something, all members of a team were certain of, both older mechs secretly admired about each other. 

With raised up spirits, minibot quickly picked up a bag of tools, which laid near a working bench, and waved goodbye to a Triplechanger, who stayed behind to tidy a working place up. 

Blitzwing couldn’t hear what his two comrades were talking about while standing at an exit to a bay, but he could still observe the interaction between them. 

The height difference between mechs was ridiculous. It became especially obvious when Megatron lowered himself to a ground in order to access electronic panel of a “jetpack”, while Bumblebee was checking on contents of a bag of his. To Blitzwing, the scene almost resembled the way human parent would interact with their child after meeting them from an educational establishment back on Earth. Come to think of it, Bumbler looked like a sparkling in comparison to all of Warframes, which made the situation even more amusing in Blitzwing’s optics. 

After switching on needed components, the grey Decepticon activated a program in his own engine’s software. Both mechs synchronized recently updated broadcasting frequencies of their flying gear, and the “jetpack” came to life with a faint glow of its side lights.

A model of a “parachute” may have looked old, but the technology behind an outdated surface was something to be proud of. As if to prove a point, Megatron shifted his wings from side to side, up and down. Minibot whirled his head around just in time to see his own wings mirroring movements of his larger partner with a barely there delay. Created during an expansion of territories on foreign planets, devices similar to Bumbler’s one allowed Autobots to join Decepticons in off-ground battles and explorations, going so far as to copy difficult maneuvers of Warframes with an impressive accuracy. 

A true forgotten marvel of Cybertronian engineering. 

To say that Bumblebee could barely keep his excitement under control would be an understatement. The way he puffed up his chest plates and spread his temporary wings reminded local workers of a young Warframe after the first successful training session at a boot camp, fears and doubts the Bot had about an upcoming battle diminishing at a prospect of taking the first flight in his life. Even if it’ll mostly be coordinated by a partner. 

Bumblebee faced a rising by his side Decepticon with a contagious smile plastered across his grey faceplates, blue optics glowing with eagerness. He said something to him, most likely a spicy remark about his immaculate skills as a Prime soon-to-be Flyer on a battlefield taking place in an outer space. Those jovial antics made Megatron roll his optics, after which he turned an Autobot around with a smirk and (lightly) shoved him forward in direction of a main hangar, where they would join other members of a boarding party.

It’s been a while since both mechs disappeared out of the view of Triplechanger, leaving him to his own devices. The grey and violet mech was in a middle of cleaning a working bench when he received a call. 

“Hey, Blitzwing!” A booming voice of Bulkhead sounded clearly over the comlink, only interrupted by periodic screeching of metal against metal in a background. “Are you and Bumblebee finished by any chance?”

“Fortune is on your side this time, my artistic friend, - Megatron’s already picked your yellow menace up.” Warframe answered while putting instruments into their designated slots. “What’s the matter?” 

“Lugnut and I would really appreciate it, if you joined us with loading ammo on a ship - these electromagnetic emitters are putting a strain even on him. Optimus is already helping us by operating a crane, but I don’t think it’s enough for everything to be finished on time.” A green Autobot admitted guiltily. When Blitzwing was about to say something, he added: “One more thing: Optimus said that he’d like to discuss a plan of an attack with you again afterwards - something about an established route through an asteroid field doesn’t click right with him.“

Of course it didn’t. But Blitzwing could hardly blame him for being extra cautious. Truth be told, he’d expected an ex-cadet to contact him sooner or later in order to go through a plan one more time. Meaning, there’s really no point for him to act getting annoyed at a prospect of doing an additional work during a current shift. 

“Alright. Seems that by helping you I’m going to kill two cats with one stone, so, count me in.”

“It’s “two birds”, Blitzwing,” Bulkhead corrected him with an audible smile. “Anyways, I’ll be waiting for you at an entrance 4-06. Thank you.”

With that being said, the bulky Autobot hung up the call, leaving a Warframe alone with his own thoughts, smiling to himself while cleaning the last of used tools from grease and oil. 

Many things have changed since the beginning of a new cycle of War, for better and for worse. With the amount of mechs switching sides and betraying their causes, sometimes it was easier to assume, that all around you were enemies rather than to hope you had at least someone to rely on. 

Yet, despite every obstacle Outcast Autobots and Earth-stranded Decepticons had to go through so far, the newly formed squad of theirs was a proof that some things stayed the same. That Camaraderie still had a value in an ever treacherous world. And Blitzwing had a feeling that no matter what lied ahead of them, the old healed bonds and recently blossomed ones would stand the test of time.

As if coming to an internal agreement with himself, the Triplechanger shook his helm and finally headed to an agreed upon place of meeting with his unlikely comrades, while silently humming a tune Bumblebee taught him once.

Perhaps, an Autobot known as Prowl was right after all?

Perhaps, it was indeed the right time to start having Faith and Trust in teammates once more?

Hilda and Hilbert are twins! Both their starters were oshawotts, Hilbert got a shiny and Hilda's eventually evolved into its Hisuian form. They were 16 during BW1.

Hilda considers herself a realist and Hilbert fancies himself an optimist.

After Team Plasma was originally defeated, Hilda and Hilbert began travelling around the world with N before Team Neo Plasma showed up and they went back home.

N is basically the twins' mom's third child.

Rosa was a Team Plasma grunt during BW1. Her older sister dragged Rosa into it after their dad used his pokemon to hurt them, believing humans would be better off without pokemon.

Rosa's snivy used to be Cheren's snivy.

Nate is hard of hearing.

Nate used to be really passive before finding the courage to stop letting people walk all over him during his gym challenge. His starter was tepig.

Iris is still champion, but Nate has come the closest to defeating her on several occasions.

Hugh eventually opens a pokemon shelter to help abused or otherwise undesirable pokemon (such as those with injuries and illnesses) recover and be released into the wild or find new homes. Anthea works there.

Concordia becomes a pokemon ranger.

N is the hero of truth and Iris is the hero of ideals. They don't meet until after BW2, but they click immediatly as soon as they do.

Rosa and Iris have been best friends since BW1, and Iris considers Nate her biggest rival.

After Bianca becomes a professor, Rosa becomes her assistant.

The Striaton trio eventually split up. Chili opens a restaurant in Virbank City, Cress takes over the Humilau City gym, and Cilan begins travelling to different battle facilities to grow stronger.

Roxie, Burgh, and Elesa have collaborated both in art and as gym leaders before.

Elesa is a lesbian and was outted pretty early on in her career as a gym leader. She decided to own it. She handled it so well some people still think it was a publicity stunt.

Compared to the media frenzy that occurred when Elesa was outted, nobody really cared when Burgh came out as bisexuality. Possibly because nobody was surprised.

Sonia has admired Professor Juniper's work for a long time. When Juniper reached out to Sonia to ask about her own research, Sonia almost passed out.

Ingo is a trans woman but she doesn't realize this and start going by Myrtle until the Hisui thing.

Lenora trained Cheren to be a gym leader. She tutored the Striaton trio, too. All four of them separately keep in contact with her as much as they can.

For their honeymoon, Lenora and her husband went to Lumiose City. After effectively taking over for a tour guide at the Lumiose Museum, they tried to hire her on the spot.

Shauntal helped Brycen write an autobiography.

Grusha and Brycen are pen-pals.

Since going back to acting, Brycen has remained closest with Elesa of his ex-coworkers.

Before Grimsley quit, the Unova elite four went out drinking together exactly once. Marshal and Grimsley ended up getting drunk and Marshal accidentally fractured Grimsley's wrist when he challenged him to an arm-wrestling match.

Grimsley has been in and out of rehab a few times.

Caitlin has several times burnt instant ramen by forgetting to put water in it before microwaving it.

League challengers will often find Shauntal missing from her room or with another elite four member. She likes changing up her location depending on the atmosphere of what she's writing.

Marshal is a huge tea person. He's got a giant collection.

Alder was champion for over twenty years before N beat him.

Drayden used to dread April Fool's day due to his grandchildren but ever since Alder pointed out Drayden could also play pranks it became Iris and Drayton who live in fear.

Burgh's favorite food is fried chicken. He is a fried chicken fiend. Nobody ever asks what he wants for dinner anymore because the answer is always the same.

Roxie and her dad are avid soap opera watchers. It's their favorite rainy day activity together.

Clay once tried to teach Skyla to drive a car and ever since Elesa and Burgh have been very careful not to clue Clay into the fact that they don't know how to drive, either.

During that party where Nemona met Lacey and challenged Clay, he actually did battle her. After she beat him, he mailed her his gym badge.

A lot of Clay's family still lives in Sinnoh, so he visits frequently. He loves the Sinnoh Underground and knows Roark and Byron well.

Bianca is lactose intolerant, but it will be a cold day in hell before she ever stops eating cheese, her favorite food.

Outside of her champion team, Iris is training an emolga and an excadrill, something Clay and Elesa are incredibly excited (and smug) about.

Elesa used to play soccer as a kid and is still a huge fan of the sport. Skyla also used to play, but is nowhere near as crazy about it as Elesa is.

Gladion and Professor Juniper got in contact to discuss the similarities between type: null and genesect. She dragged N into it and the two of them were pretty vital to helping Gladion figure out what to do with Aether Paradise after the mess Lusamine left it in. Gladion really looks up to them both.

N has befriended quite a few ultra beasts who can't return home through Gladion and Aether Paradise.

Brycen met Diantha before she became champion through their acting careers. She once gifted him an amaura egg.

Alder visits Cheren's gym often.

Piers is a fan of Roxie's music.

Colress has an ex-husband in Castelia City.

Lacey's birthday party is always a huge affair and one of the only places you can count on to find the entire Unova league, including retired members, outside of work.

When they hang out, Roxie and Marlon consider each other the annoying younger sibling of their dynamic.

A frillish almost drowned Marlon once, which is a story he will gleefully tell anybody upon five minutes of meeting them. That frillish is now his jellicent.

Skyla once got sued over her gym puzzle.

N, Anthea, and Concordia tried really hard to track down the Shadow Triad after BW2 to convince them to ditch Ghetsis, but they hid themselves too well.

Colress went to Area Zero and met the AI professor before the time machine was shut down. He pocketed a few paradox pokemon for his troubles.

Lenora treated Cynthia to a battle and a private tour of her museum when she visited Unova in BW1 and the two had a giant nerd fest together. Steven made Cynthia promise to bring him next time she visited- and she did, during the Pokemon World Tournament.

The purloin N uses in his first battle in BW1 is the same one Hugh spends BW2 looking for. The Shadow Triad lent it to him.

Bianca once tried to study the Abyssal Ruins but after realizing there was something down there with her she decided some things are better left alone. The stranger with the togekiss who was a little too interested in the plates Bianca had found also didn't help.

Hilda and Hilbert knew Rosa before BW2, but they didn't become close with her and Nate until afterwards.

The twins scoff at Rosa and Nate when they hear about their dates with Yancy and Curtis. They will never have half of what N had on that ferris wheel. Rosa and Nate think Hilda and Hilbert are annoying as hell.

The Nacrene City Museum is Amarys's favorite place in the whole world. She likes to use the art there as inspiration for her own paintings. She's been given free access to the library, too.

Amarys admires Burgh's artwork a lot, as well, but his gym is too full of bad textures for her autistic ass to justify going there again after getting his badge.

Drayton isn't sure if he has a crush on Clay or wants him to be his dad, but Lacey wants him dead for it either way.

The BBA League once went on a field trip to the Gear Station Battle Subway. They had to cut their visit short due to Crispin's motion sickness. Amarys is still pissed at Crispin for that. From their brief meeting, Emmet thinks Kieran is the funniest person on the planet. The club spent the rest of the day dressing up their pokemon in the Musical Theater, which Lacey especially loved. This was Florian and Juliana's first time in Unova.

The favor of Victini is easily earned through giving them apple slices. Not whole apples, those are too hard to eat.

Zekrom cares for Kyurem. Reshiram does not.

Zekrom is an incredibly picky water. He will know if you are trying to feed him off-brand pokepuffs and he will find a new hero over it.

Rosa hasn't caught Kyurem, but Rosa often visits her cave to make sure nobody is bothering her and just to spend time together. They're close friends.

Nate is buddies with Keldo! Nate hasn't caught him since Keldeo is with the Swords of Justice, but whenever Keldeo is in town he finds Nate to have a battle.

Thundurus once approached Hilda during a storm and scared her so badly she instincitvely chucked her and Hilbert's only master ball at him. Tornados, Landorus, and Enamorus will never let him live this down, but Thundurus came to really enjoy travelling with N and the twins.

Hilda and Hilbert lost a shiny pokemon due to not having any pokeballs shortly after this

Hilbert once tried to hit Reshiram with the "this statement is false" paradox and Reshiram actually tried to bite his head off.

Reshiram and Zekrom are both incredibly stubborn. Only the will of their heroes may sway their hearts. Except in the face of off-brand pokepuffs. Or when they see each other- that's when they stop pretending to be the dignified legendary dragons who stood by kings and unleash the inner angry cats they truly are.

Virizion felt sorry for Iron Leaves for being ripped from their world by a human's folly, and more or less adopted them into the Swords of Justice. Keldeo was excited to have an underclassman. They parted on incredibly good terms after encountering Iron Boulder and Iron Crown, where Iron Leaves decided to go with them.

The Aether Foundation funds a lot of research into studying artificially created pokemon like genesect. Since genesect are too aggressive for most trainers to handle and too dangerous to be left alone, quite a few of them have been rehabilitated at Aether Paradise.

Meloetta befriended Rosa's older sister while she was in prison by singing outside her window.

Plasma—Mismagius—♀—Naughty Nature After spending the night in the forest near Ecruteak city, Dia found that one of her Pokeballs was no longer empty. Inside, was Plasma, the Misdreavus. Plasma doesn’t remember much from before this point, but occasionally has flashes from what she assumes was her life as a human. The last memory she has is being in the mountains at night, surrounded by rocks that look suspiciously like tombstones… Mischievous and a prankster, Dia often gets requests for Plasma to help with scaring away humans/Pokemon from entering restricted areas, working in haunted houses, etc. ✩Notes: taller than average, but not max size

Bun (Bunnicula)—Lopunny—♂—Adamant Nature Dia found an egg and a Lopunnite abandoned at her doorstep one day. Unable to find the original owner, Dia decided to keep the egg. Lulu (Dia’s Audino) hatched the egg and helped to raise the rambunctious buneary. Bun is quick to anger and often picks fights—especially when he’s mistaken for a female. Despite his tough guy demeanor, he really wants to become a strong Pokemon that can protect others and trains daily to meet his goals. ✩Notes: wears bandana with Lopunnite

Syntha—Leafeon—♀—Mild Nature Syntha was raised as a housepet by an elderly, retired singer. When she passed away, her children had no interest in taking care of their mother’s Leafeon and simply released her into the city. Alone and afraid, she was found by Dia’s older sister, Saku. Syntha was tired of being cooped up her whole life, and happily joined Dia when extended the offer to travel. Later on, Dia brought home a Vaporeon, Navy, that quickly bonded with Syntha and the two had three children—Nunnally (Sylveon), Dominic (Espeon), and Damian (Jolteon). Her favorite activities include sunbathing, spending time with her family, and singing.

Miloh—Lucario—♂—Quiet Nature The child of Dia's Lucario, Reiki, and an Absol belonging to Dia’s husband. Not long after meeting her then boyfriend (now husband), Dia was presented with an egg by her Lucario, Reiki. She left the egg in Dia’s care and disappeared. Dia’s husband Absol was disinterested in being a father, so Dia hatched it on her own. Miloh’s shy but amiable. He enjoys friendly competition and training for battle. His best friend, Flurn (Flygon) and him play and spar often. Unfortunately, Miloh has been unable to awaken his aura abilities and, therefore, is unable to evolve. ✩Notes: fluffier and has Absol eyes due to father; unable to mega-evolve

Azu—Azelf—Hardy Nature Not long after Dia qualified as a champion rank, she was approached by a trainer who demanded a battle. She agreed, and was met with an Azelf and Latias. They were clearly being mistreated and kept hostage in master balls. Dia quickly defeated him. With a little “persuasion”, he relinquished the two Pokemon to Dia and she released them. Latias flew away, but Azelf decided to tag along. Although they have been caught by Dia, Azu is free to come and go as they please. They rarely visit and, when they do, they only lurk or play with the other Pokemon—Azu’s not interested in battling or interacting with any other humans.

🟢 He had not been given much of an option for his transformation. His childhood was spent in the forest, after all. Youthful days spent languidly with wild pokemon. He understood them, and they in turn him. Yet, that was all to change after Ghetsis had taken him in. It was obvious due to the pokemon's reactions around him that Ghetsis was clearly something otherworldly. Though, in his childhood naïveté, it was far too easy to accept the man who offered him a place to be and a role in this world. This, and much more, was offered to him in exchange for one day becoming like the imposing man. N was truly too young to really grasp what all that entailed, so he agreed.

🟢 The green-haired man was turned soon after he has been crowned the King of Team Plasma. The experience was anything but pleasant, but it was a part of his agreement with his adopted father. Vampirism was truly something he quickly came to hate. Being unable to enjoy the sun was a cruel fate and bound to prey upon other living creatures for sustenance was a painful experience. Granted, Ghetsis offered him more than willing people to feed on, but his morals simply felt that this was awful. Then, the push for the pokemon human liberation movement was truly something messy. He felt determined in the idea that humans and pokemon should not be together, yet his transformation left him lost and desperate for something else.

🟢 He felt odd as he considered his new traits. Eerie blue eyes that shined within darkness, sharpened canines that could easily pierce even his mouth, and the feeling of just being something unearthly. His body felt simply different that it had. Colder and emptier, yet more powerful and terrifying. N desperately missed the warmth of his own body. His newfound strength had also been distressing to manage. The pokemon he communicated with and cared for, he felt scared that he would accidentally injure. Ghetsis had claimed it was important for his role, but he truly did not understand.

🟢 It was a cloudy day which he spent listening to one of Ghetsis's speeches that led to a chance meeting. A meeting that called to him in a strange sense of fate. One person within the crowd had stood out to him immensely. N felt at a lost for words as he wandered to you after the crowd had dispersed. Then, he heard your pokemon speak to him. He felt confused but opted to challenge you instead. Everything left him more bewildered, yet his beliefs still remained firm. Though, this was far from the last time you encountered each other. Each passing chance drew him more into you yet terrified by your resolve.

🟢 The time at the Ferris Wheel had truly brought his feelings out. Being so close to in such a small space… He understood that your blood was what called to him, and resisting was simply difficult. Admitting the truth to you was haunting, but relieving. You seemed unsurprised to, by both his admission of being the King of Team Plasma and a vampire. Rather, something blossomed between you both. You finding him in a moment of weakness within Chargestone Cave and offering him your wrist made him feel mortified. By the end of everything, when N stood across from you in his castle, he grasped the feelings that gripped him. He wanted you at his side, no matter what. His terror when Ghetsis had rushed in to take you down almost brought out something inside him to protect you, despite his sadness over his loss.

🟢 Within Ghetsis's enraged yells, an explanation to all his feelings had come out. An annoyance that N had found something that he should not have and that you had ruined everything. He felt shocked at the words, but you still had defeated the man he had called his father. With him defeated, people rushed in. An urge to rethink things and find himself had overcome him as he stared at the legendary dragon. When you offered to join him, he simply could not tell you no.

He never offers to turn you, finding this existence a curse. While you may not mind him feeding on you, the idea of causing others pain bothers him endlessly. Though, if you ask yourself, he may find himself willing to discuss.

"I get it now"

Public opinion on Pokémon Black and White has experienced quite a roller coaster since its release, at least in the English-speaking world. When the games first came out, people criticized so many different aspects of them, from character and Pokémon designs to the gameplay and everything in between. And now, they're some of the most highly-praised games in the series, especially for the story.

I never really jumped on the BW hate bandwagon when the games first came out. Sure, I didn't play them on launch, but that was more because I thought I was too old for Pokémon at the time. When I did come back to them, I enjoyed them but definitely wouldn't have said they were my favorite games.

As I was playing through White Version for this challenge I'd set for myself, I really didn't get what all the hype was about concerning the story. Certainly, absolutely, the games have amazing graphics, cool Pokémon, and much-improved mechanics compared to previous games, but I could never get into the story. At first, I thought maybe it was because N's dialogue was written in a way I found preachy and off-putting (his dialogue in Chargestone Cave was particularly condescending IMO). Then I started digging through Bulbapedia, looking for information about N, the other characters, and the dichotomy between truth and ideals to see if I had missed something, or maybe if something was lost in translation. I couldn't understand why NPCs would take myths and legends so seriously when the Pokémon games have such a modern setting, so N's plan to befriend Reshiram and convince Unova he was the true hero/worth listening to didn't make much sense to me. And why would N or anyone else in Team Plasma encourage the player to befriend Zekrom and try to stop their plans?

This bothered me so much that, right before the final fight with N, I actually wrote out my thoughts on the matter to get to the root of why this story really didn't gel with me. And then I remembered a comment from Shoogles' video on Brilliant Diamond: "In the West, we see science and spirituality as...incompatible. My understanding is that it's easier to reconcile the two in Japanese culture; the literal and the metaphysical are not necessarily mutually exclusive" (7:16:18-35). Seeing it that way, it makes a lot more sense that people in a very modern region like Unova would still put weight in the region's founding myth, whether you want to see Reshiram and Zekrom as gods or just as really powerful and rare Pokémon. N, too, clearly believes in the region's mythology, not just because he seeks to befriend Reshiram and become the next true hero, but also because he wants to legitimize his claim by defeating Zekrom and the other true hero, proving beyond a doubt that his values (in the case of White, truth) are the most legitimate. And Ghetsis probably just goes along with it because he thinks N is guaranteed to succeed, so even if Reshiram doesn't need to defeat Zekrom in order for Team Plasma to achieve their goals, it definitely won't hurt.

And when I defeated N, I realized that I had in fact understood the plot. N starts his journey with fiercely-set, black-and-white beliefs--that the training/battling system in the Unova region only leads to misery and abuse for Pokémon--because he had only ever met Pokémon that had been abused by humans. But when he meets the player, he's surprised to hear your Pokémon say that it likes you. This is the only time he's ever heard a Pokémon say something like that, so maybe he could write it off as an exception to the rule. However, as he travels across Unova, he finds more and more people and Pokémon who work together, communicate, and enjoy being each other's friends. He sees more and more evidence that he was wrong. When he encourages you to befriend Zekrom and become the other hero, he wants to affirm that he was right for his own benefit, maybe more than any other reason: "That was why I needed to confirm my beliefs by battling with you. [...] I needed that more than anything."

And that was when I had my "I get it" moment (à la Fiona Sangster in her Stardew Valley Sebastian video). Not only did I feel like I understood the game's plot, themes, and messages a lot better than I ever had, I was also very happy that the game had made me think this much about that plot and those themes. I wasn't just picking it apart to decide if I was right or wrong, I was legitimately working to understand a character's experiences and how they informed his beliefs about the world. I used to think the philosophy explored in Black and White was too ham-fisted, but if it's making me think this seriously about its themes it's clearly doing something right.

Does N has the chance to meet his sisters in your AU?

Well he first meets them in the BW phase, where they approach him and Alder throughout Unova to tell them about Plasma's plans. Alder and N sort of brush them off as just members of Team Plasma people pestering them lol

He meets them again when he's captured in the castle, and they care for him while he's there. This is where he learns that they are the queens. The sisters are also fascinated with his close relationship to Pokemon, and begin to question Plasma's intentions.

After the defeat of Team Plasma, the sisters disappear for a while but eventually appear at Alder's doorstep, seeking forgiveness. Alder is a little suspicious but N welcomes them in with open arms. The sisters don't really know what to do with themselves, so Alder and N help them find their footing. Cue montages where they help the sisters build a cabin for them to live. N grows close to them in the process and Alder takes them under his wing.

Spouting some other impulsive thoughts, the sisters could maybe turn their cabin into a Pokemon sanctuary, similar to the one in the anime. Also I think Anthea would cut her hair, symbolizing a freeing of burdens and change.

[Side note, they likely won't be included in the fanfic Father and Son. I'm only planning to write up to N at age 13, and am uncertain if I'll cover the BW arc in a fanfic.]

Lissa (pokemon trainer oc)

Lissa Harmonia, One of my oldest original characters

For context, she is Ghetsis's biological daughter, and was born to then become the leader of Team Plasma, but was replaced by N as he was a much better candidate. Still, at 4 years old she was sent to Ghetsis as agreed by the woman who gave birth to her, but she was heavily isolated, to avoid potencially overshadowing N and suspicion on Ghetsis. None of the Plasma grunt even know of her existence, the only ones aware being the Sages, N and his sisters, and of course Ghetsis.

She was "banished" from Team Plasma, when N was crowned, and had to wander the region on her own when she was only 12. She followed some of the actions of Team Plasma, and helped the Player at times.

Only to accidently meet Colress and be brought back to Ghetsis, forced to work in Neo Plasma so she wouldn't mess with his plans. She's never allowed to leave the Frigate.

When Ghetsis is defeated, in the panic of Kyurem not being under control, Lissa steal his Hydreigon and runs out of the cave. She stays in the Giant Chasm for a few days, trying to be forgiven by Kyurem for letting him be used. Kyurem consistently attacks her, and she ends up recieving some small shards of ice that worsen her right eyesight. Colress finds her and takes her in with him to live in the Frigate, now used as a base for him and some lost Neo grunts.

Lissa then decides to go on her own adventure in Unova, meets new people and old friends, and is finally able to prove herself to Ghetsis.

I might make other posts for more details on her story or else this would be way too long

Fun facts/Details about her:

She inherited a lot of Ghetsis's traits. She has the same hair texture as him, which she would constantly re-style and flatten as Lissa didn't want to look like him. When she became an adult she started to accept them, and doesn't style them as much.

After the events of BW 2, she lost part of her eyesight on her right eye, while trying to be forgiven by Kyurem

She stole Ghetsis's Hydreigon, now taking good care of him, and the two and completely inseparable

She is terribly socialy awkward, spending her entire childhood by herself or occasionally with her brother, she doesn't know how to keep a conversation, or how to begin one.

She doesn't share strong opinions about the liberation of pokemon like Team Plasma did. She believes pokemon should be respected. She isn't against pokemon battles, as she's seen pokemon that want to participate in them. She focuses mostly on the consent of pokemon.

She resent N a lot after the events of BW 2, as he never looked for her after she was banished from Team Plasma. It's also because N was able to have the -albeit fake- affection of their father.

Although she isn't able to understand pokemon like her brother does, she talks to them a lot, her hydreigon being the main listener.

She likes to sleep outside. When kicked out of Team Plasma, she would have no other choice but to sleep outdoors, and wild pokemon would usually come up to her for warmth. Even now that she has a roof over her head, she likes to lay down outside at night to sleep.

Her and Colress get along well, after the events of BW2, he technically became her legal guardian, and was the only person that she trusted, and so they became pretty close.

As mentionned previously, Lissa inherited most of Ghetsis's genes. Except his height. Lissa isn't very tall, being only 1m53 (5ft) and she hates it. She stopped growing when she was around 14.

Lissa still trust pokemon much more easily than humans, from being around Team Plasma as a child and listening to N talk about pokemons when they were young.

Shen 10, He finds a magic gauntlet at his grandparents house and now he can summon mythical creatures to aid him. (I know it's ben 10 but I don't care.)

Night Fright is an intimidating, owl-like creature who once roamed the city at night, attacking criminals with calculated precision and terrifying efficiency. Her tall, sleek frame is covered in feathers of deep gray and black, with glowing yellow eyes that seem to pierce the darkness. Her sharp talons and massive wings make her a formidable foe, and her eerie screech can send shivers down anyone's spine.

Vigilant and Stoic: Night Fright is highly disciplined and takes her self-imposed mission of punishing wrongdoers very seriously. She has little patience for Shen’s more lighthearted approach to heroism but grows to respect his compassion over time.

Loner Mentality: Having worked alone for so long, Night Fright initially resents being tamed and struggles with cooperating as part of a team.

Secretly Caring: Beneath her cold exterior, she has a deep sense of justice and a protective streak, especially for the innocent.

Lumi Plays: Pokémon White 2 Bug Monotype Run- Part 20

We're in full swing of taking down Team Plasma, and it's not even difficult!

When last we left off, we were about to head through the Plasma Frigate, looking for the password and card key to open the way further in.

Doesn't take too long until we've narrowed it right down!

Not going to lie, the team handle Team Plasma with ease! The grunts carry a lot of Dark types, and with my Bug moves, they're dropping like flies. The Pokémon that aren't Dark and usually Poison, and I have Ground moves and Psychic moves to handle them, while our buddies aren't very threatened by them!

Soon enough though, we have all the pieces of the puzzle and can enter the password and head beyond the electric gate.

Beyond the gates, it's time for encounter number 3 with the cold man himself, Zinzolin!

And he's with a friend, here's Kyurem! But it's time to battle, and here comes Boot to help us out.

It goes smoothly, Lemondrop handles the first half before Volt Switching to Lava Cake for the second half! But Boot's Samurott hits itself in confusion 4 turns in a row.

Not being able to handle defeat, Boot and I are booted out of the Frigate, and it takes off- heading for their final destination, the Giant Chasm.

Of course, we pursue, after collecting Gumball from the Pokémon Centre now that we no longer need Surf.

I head into the cavern, and there are a few items to grab first before I continue on. Notably, we get the TM for Ice Beam, but none of our Bugs can use that.

Out in the actual crater part of the Chasm, we have more grunts to fight. Another multi battle with Boot, and he's a little less useless this time. I've learned that Candy is especially excellent in these Team Plasma double battles, not only does his type match up really well, but his strong Rock Slides do huge amounts of damage! He gets in a couple of great performances against all the grunts we fight.

Also out here is Rood and some of the Ex-Team Plasma. They keep some of the other grunts busy and we head back to the Frigate.

Inside we take on another puzzle, this time a classic Pokémon warp tile puzzle, with plenty of grunts in the way.

I won't bore you with the details, but needless to say it goes by quick and easy! These chumps aren't a problem for a Bug Catcher!

With that puzzle done, it's time for one more bout against Zinzolin.

Nor do you, old man!

This time, Drumstick gets to shine, switching in and handling his Ice Types with a few strong Iron Heads. And finally, Drumstick is our first team member to reach the heights of level 50!

And with the way cleared to the heart of the Frigate, next time we take on the final bosses of Team Plasma. And beyond that? The league! There's no stopping the Bug Type!

well sure! truth be told iridium is kinda just me going “here’s how i would change the plots of pokémon stories if i had creative control!” and being very self indulgent with it, so it’s not like it’s one big overarching story, but i’d say one of the major themes is definitely legendary pokémon and how they interact with the world! i treat them more like gods than really powerful pokémon (you know, how green myths will have stories of the gods screwing around and messing with mortals all the time) because i think legendary pokémon are so cool and i like them :]

i crammed all the protagonists together on this canvas so there they all are but i’ll try to summarize the different arcs as best as i can

RED AND BLUE (gen 1): team rocket has taken over kanto and johto and fused them into The Rocket Empire. giovanni has captured the legendary birds and keeps them as pets. red tries and fails to stop giovanni from using mewtwo to unlock travel to alternate dimensions. he gets so sad about this he goes to live alone on a mountain

GOLD AND GREEN (gen 2): green, red’s kid friend, wants to get red down from the mountain. gold, the heir to team rocket (he’s basically like if gold and silver fused) tries to stop her from messing with the rockets. archer, a former rocket leader who defected, befriends green because they both wanna take down the rockets. red comes down from mt silver at the end, revealing the legendary beasts were protecting him up there

EMERALD (gen 3): may and her family (norman and zinnia) are the last of the draconids. archie and maxie are trying to expand the land/expand the sea. near the end of their evil plans they get possessed by groudon and kyogre who are mad that nobody worships them anymore (because they’re jerks). may and rayquaza work together to beat them. maxie dies during a cave in at the cave of origin so archie puts on a magical suit of armour and hunts down jirachi at the battle frontier to try and get three wishes to revive him, with the help of frontier brain lucy who wants to retire in a big mansion full of hunky boys because she’s sick of being a frontier brain

DIAMOND AND PEARL (gen 4): dawn and lucas are the human disguises of dialga and palkia who get sent down to earth every time giratina gets incarnated into another human vessel that’s about to cause trouble (it’s a banishment thing). in the past they were sent to defeat volo (legends arceus) but now they’re sent to defeat cyrus. cyrus ends up breaking the cycle by going into the distortion world and living there happily

BLACK AND WHITE (gen 5): rosa is a plasma researcher and sees colress as a father figure. her and n take a journey across a slowly-freezing-over unova. ghetsis and colress are secretly behind it using kyurem’s ice powers, but they’re using panic and fearmongering about the great freeze to get people to release their pokémon. rosa has a crisis of faith about her mentor

X AND Y (gen 6): zeena (daughter of looker and anabel) is about to become a real interpol agent, she just needs to solve the mystery of team flare in kalos. it’s a bunch of rich kids who believe beauty is the only important thing and that the beautiful should be the judge, jury, and executioner since they’re the worthy ones. in a dramatic twist it’s revealed that professor sycamore was the leader of team flare all along. when he tries to use yveltal to construct the ultimate weapon, yveltal and xerneas get so mad at him that they curse him to be stuck in between life and death

SUN AND MOON (gen 7): moon is a rocket empire refugee that moved to alola. her and lillie have to stop an emotionally unstable guzma from teaming up with the great magician lusamine and basically hunting the ultra beasts for sport. alola’s tradition hangs in the balance as both outsiders and frustrated insiders attack it. poni island gets burnt down. episode rainbow rocket happens where giovanni finally returns from his multiversal travels, revealing successful versions of every team leader so far (and some guy named raihan) that he’s poisoned with nihilego toxins to get them to work for him. moon and a defector (named twozma) kick their butts so hard that giovanni retires and kanto and johto get to be individual regions again

SWORD AND SHIELD (gen 8): leon is of royal blood, having descended from leonidas, the first king of galar. through a series of events, eternatus (a lovecraftian cosmic horror) possesses leon to use as his vessel in his ultimate quest to take over galar and absorb all the power on the planet. raihan has daddy issues.

SCARLET AND VIOLET (gen 9): thanks to sada and turo, paldea gets shattered across dimensions, so now there exists two versions of it: one stuck in the past and one stuck in the future. the ai counterparts of sada and turo have to help two kids, marisol and pedro, fix it and turn paldea back to normal. champions are evil. blueberry academy is evil. kieran turns his enemies into cursed masks

You honestly cried when he lost just before the semi-finals, but once you calmed down, you vowed to yourself that you would be a great dark type trainer just like Grimsley.

You were eleven when you finally set out on your own, a Purrlion at your side as you traveled from city to city. You had gained a few badges by the time you reached Nimbasa City.

Yet your time in Nimbasa wasn’t pleasant at first, having run into a Team Plasma grunt shortly upon arrival.

He had defeated your team in just a few short turns, even threatening to take away your beloved Purrlion as his Watchog advanced on you.

“Liepaaaard!”

You blink, and then a Liepard had the Watchog on the ground, snarling at the Plasma grunt.

“A Liepard…?” You mumbled, holding your exhausted Purrlion close to your chest.

The Plasma grunt paled and quickly recalled his pokemon, rushing to escape as fast as possible before a hand fell on your shoulder.

“You alright, kid?”

You turn your head to the person and nearly cough up your lungs in surprise.

Grimsley was there, concern written plainly on his face.

“A-Ah, y-yes I’m fine. B-But my pokemon…”

“Let’s get them to the Pokemon Center.”

You were stuck to him like glue after that. You were chatty, asking him about his favorite dark types and his favorite moves and if he could teach you some tricks.

Grimsley was clearly taken aback by your display of eagerness, even more so when he found you waiting outside the casino for him. But at that point, who was he to refuse such a determined trainer?

Day after day, Grimsley would teach you something new, whether it was something for a battle or some new cool card trick.

But alas, all good things come to an end, and Grimsley had to return to the Elite Four.

“See you later, kid!” He had said to you soon before his departure, “Get to the Elite Four and show me all you’ve learned someday!”

And that’s exactly what you did.

" noct " : a male hydreigon, found as a deino in victory road. one of the later additions to her team that she had caught while she was on her way the first time to challenge the elite four. he only joined the team after her battle with the champion, and grew up while kira was traveling. she always carried that deino around with her in her arms, sometimes even as a zweilous (he's spoiled), until she eventually couldn't as a hydreigon.

" hoshi " : a female alolan ninetales that was a gift from her grandfather who was always traveling, given to her when she moved away from hoenn. loves attention, the star of the love and battles series.

" kazuki ": a female swampert, kira's main partner who she got as her starter pokemon when she was ten years old.

" ikki " : a female milotic, caught as a feebas when kira had gone fishing one time near fortree city in hoenn. unfortunately, she had already name her as a feebas, hence the name ikki. very calm, watches over the other pokemon and has the tendency of spraying both people and pokemon she considers unruly.

" tali " : a female espeon that kira had found as a stray eevee in slateport city, hoenn. definitely the most mischievous of the pokemon and hates staying in her pokeball, which is why tali's always seen walking around with kira. she has the tendency to wander off and get into her own trouble, but always finds her way back to kira.

" sanzu " : a male honchcrow that kira found as a murkrow when she was a kid and got lost in the woods. sanzu had been trying to steal some of her shinier things in her bag when he had stopped upon seeing a four year old kira crying. he helped her get back home and stayed with her, eventually staying in her house until he eventually decided to become her pokemon when kira went off on her own journey around hoenn, letting her keep him in a pokeball. he still tends to snatch things, though.

" nao " : a male chandelure that has the tendency of sneaking up on people, though is very shy. can commonly be seen hanging around tali, who he has always been most comfortable with.

the shirogane clan was originally from the hoenn region. kira had grown up in oldale town along with her parents and three brothers. she was introduced to pokemon battles when she would go and watch the pokemon battles her mother would participate in, during different tournaments throughout hoenn. masako shirogane had been a strong trainer, earning that reputation with her meganium at her side. it was kira's admiration for her mother that made her want to pursue being a pokemon trainer herself.

in the year she her family planned to move to unova, she had gone on her own journey as a pokemon trainer to attempt the gym challenge, leaving with her mudkip and vulpix at her side. although she hadn't been able to defeat the champion in hoenn, she had enjoyed the experience of her journey, finding it the most fun she ever had, and it only sparked her ambition to be able to become stronger alongside her pokemon.

eventually, kira had moved to accumula town in unova, where she had taken up working as an assistant to professor juniper to learn more about pokemon. with the rise of team plasma, kira found herself following the movement of their plans after witnessing their demonstration in her hometown, and witnessing them stealing their pokemon for herself. it was her research regarding unova's ancient artifacts and it's link to the legendary dragons that caught team plasma's attention, and in order to get a better understanding of their motivations, kira had played along under the guise of her ambition and greed to learn leading her to "cooperate" with them. though, she ceased the moment they had tried to take away her pokemon.

now : kira had chosen to follow her own path of research after her period of assisting professor juniper, though instead of devoting her research to just one region, she decided to continue traveling and continue battling all the while, simply because she found it fun. at one point, kira was approached by a pokestar studio's agent after witnessing one of her battles and offered her the chance to star in a movie, which she had taken for the fun of it. starring in the " mystery doors of the magical land " series had set off her career as an actress, being known for hits such as " ghost eraser " and " love and battles ".
