Hi, I love your blog and your edits. I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on how you combine multiple gifs into one in the first gif of yours MIKELOGAN’s 5K FOLLOWER CELEBRATION || GET TO KNOW ME MEMEFAVORITE ACTORS [2/10]Colin Firth (September 10, 1960) set? Thank you for reading this and helping me.

thank you so much, that's so kind!! this is the post in question (which was inspired by this gorgeous set) and i'll break down how to do it step by step below the cut!

i ended up saving this gif as a psd because i remember it taking me so long and being really frustrating, i just wasn't sure why. for reference, i posted that set back in september, just over four months ago. looking at the psd, i can see just how far i've grown as a gifmaker bc that thing is a hot mess. i made it about 3x more complicated than it needed to be, so let's do this the right way lol note: i was still using 0.07 frame rate at this point. i have since switched to 0.05 for smoother, quicker gifs.

what we're going to do is create all of these gifs separately and put them together at the end. in total, there are 6 individual gifs. let's start with harry.

i gif by importing video frames to layers, but if you prefer to screencap, load those in instead. because this ends up being a pretty large gif, both in size and length, i kept it to 20 frames per clip.

once you're satisfied with the frames you've chosen, crop your canvas to 540px x 540px. this is what i'm left with

this is when i sharpen my gifs. everyone's process is a little different. i created my own sharpening action, which converts my frames to video timeline and then sharpens.

the next step is to color your gif. if you're going for the overall look in mine, here were my layers:

a brightness/contrast layer with brightness set to 31 and contrast to 5. this will depend on the scene you're working with

a levels layer using the black and white eyedroppers. the top one is your black eyedropper. to use it, click it and select the blackest part of your gif. do the same with the white eyedropper and select the lightest part of your gif. you may need to play around with selecting different points depending on your scene and the original coloring

finally, a simple black & white gradient map layer on top

now we're going to add the thin rectangular border in the middle of the gif. i use the rectangle shape tool for this (press U on your keyboard) and these are my settings (x and y coordinates don't matter):

to center it perfectly, i use ctrl+T and drag it until it snaps into place with both the vertical and horizontal guides.

next, let's add the "choose your gentleman" text that goes at the top of the border. here is the font i chose and its settings:

once again, press ctrl+t and drag this to the vertical center of your gif and to the center of the top of the border. you should feel and see it snap into place. this is what we have now:

now, we're going to use a layer mask on the border so we can read the text. select the rectangle layer and click the layer mask button

with the layer mask selected (as shown in the second image), use the rectangular marquee tool (M on your keyboard) to draw a rectangle around your text, taking care to keep it just a little larger

as you can see, you'll know when you're perfectly centered through your text layer and vertically on the entire canvas. select your brush tool without deselecting this rectangle (B on your keyboard) and paint the selection with a black brush. this masks that part of the border!

let's add the small square gif that goes at the bottom of the border now. i think the easiest way of doing this is to use the rectangular shape tool (U) again. the size of this gif is 110x110, so create a black square of that size with no stroke. Use ctrl+T to drag it to the center of the bottom of the border (the x and y coordinates don't matter):

now duplicate your original gif layer (ctrl+J) and drag it to the top of the layer panel. right click on it and create clipping mask. this will make it so the gif only appears within the confines of the square we just created. resize your gif by using ctrl+T and, making sure the proportions are locked, drag the corners to the edges of the square.

this gif is not colored at all as we only duplicated the gif itself and not the coloring layers. i duplicated those as well and dragged them on top of our small gif, but it's important to make sure those are using the clipping mask as well. you can click this on the properties layer of each adjustment layer to make sure they do.

you'll know you've been successful when you see the small arrow next to each of your coloring layers. this keeps them from affecting the coloring of the larger, main gif.

we're going to change the gradient map adjustment layer from black & white to black & lime green (or the color of your choosing). click on that layer and then on the map. this will bring up the gradient editor. click on the small white color stop at the far right end of the gradient and then on the color picker, choose a new color.

the hex code i used for the lime green is #00ff0c

our last steps are the angle brackets on either side of the gif and harry's name in the center. here are the settings i used for those (angle brackets on the left and harry on the right):

by now, you know how to utilize ctrl+T to move these layers where you'd like them. harry's name is centered horizontally and vertically and rotated at a bit of an angle and the angle brackets are centered horizontally and i just eyeballed where to put them in relation to the space between the border and the edge of the gif.

this is the complete first gif. what i would do for your own sanity since you have two more of these two create is 1) save it as a psd just in case something crashes and 2) don't convert it to a smart object until you have all 3 gifs completed and are ready to put them together.

the nice part about having the first one done is you've ultimately done the hard part. create your two other gifs, but you'll be using at least roughly the same coloring and all the same text, just with the colors adjusted, so you can drag those layers from your completed first gif to your others as you work on them.

once you have all 3 gifs completed and still on 3 separate canvases (and saved as psds bc this is adobe friggin photoshop and shit breaks all the time), convert all layers on all the gifs to smart objects. this will simplify the final gif and make things much easier.

then, bring gif #2 and gif #3 both onto gif #1's canvas. this is what it will look like at first on the timeline and in your layer panel:

(full disclosure, i'm not making the other two lmao, i'm lazy and i already did it once in a way harder way 😂)

to get the gifs to play after one another rather than simultaneously, you just have to drag them after one another on the timeline!

a little bit hard to show the actual process, but you're just clicking the bertie layer and dragging it down to harry's line after the harry layer. then do the same with the jamie layer, dragging it down to the harry layer after bertie. when you're done, it should look like this:

btw, the little slider i circled is what enlarges or shrinks the timeline view, so if you need to see something broken down a bit more/slower, drag it to the right. if you need to zoom out, drag it to the left.

and that's it! export and save your gif!

I use Photoshop CC 2018, which is old by today's standards but without all the AI Features that photoshop has now, which you don't really need tbh. I'm pretty anti-generative AI as it is. (PS: this blog will turn a blind eye at yohoho-ing it, especially subscription services like PS that shouldn't be subscription. God, why can't it be one time payment? Oh yeah, capitalism. ://///)

Honestly, I use very simple tricks in my edits, PS has several easy to learn tools (and I'm mostly self taught) and for anyone creative minded, I think it's got an easy learning curve if you're willing to just have fun and play like a kid, mess with the settings, watch a few YouTube tutorials, etc. There's lots of ways to be "non-destructive" with your images though masking, so you can use and reuse them. That is to say, as example, an eraser tool is destructive. What's it's gone, it's gone. But PS has a masking tool that lets your erase content visually, but it still exists on the layer and can be toggled on and off with one click. This is how I make many of my transparent comic panels

I also have a HUGE library of textures I've either bought, or made myself. (In my eyes, this blog is a investment in my creativity, so I don't mind spending money on stuff like that because I can use it many many MANY times over and still have new outcomes.) I think as a digital artists, texture making is a widely underrated tool, you can make textures out of anything. Even scanning old paper or taking pictures of a spray painted concrete floor. Both of which, I've done.

I think I went overboard and talked more than you asked lmao, but I like explaining my processes a bit. We don't gatekeep here, and if anyone has questions, feel free to send them my way. I'd even show ya PSD files if you wanted.

Everything has been prepared, as far as Elsie could've prepared, that is. She wanted to make sure that everything was perfect as it could be – in part because she wanted to show how perfect she is, of course, but the biggest reason for her demands was because of someone else.

Standing alone in front of school as she watches all her classmates and seniors alike make their way to their homes, Elsie awaits (or tries to) the person who's the reason why she hasn't gone home herself yet, although both Weronika and Neo have already left themselves.

Checking her phone every ten seconds, she was just running out of patience before she could hear the troubled sobs coming in her direction.

“ELSIE-SAN!” She ran as fast as she could, which wasn't much, since she was tired from running already, “I'm truly sorry for keeping you waiting! I am such a useless being, I didn't even pay attention to the time!! I will accept any kind of punishment you'll give—”

Before Sophia could give the rest of her self-deprecating monologue, Elsie stops her; not without making fun of her a little bit, also.

“Leaving someone such as Elsie waiting this long,” this long being about 15 minutes, “is truly, unforgivable… But she might forgive you if you take her bag for her on the way~!”

Said and done, Sophia didn't even hesitate on picking up the smaller girl's bag, who praised her little "servant" a little before walking, with Sophia right behind her.

“So, what were you doing that was more important than me, anyways?”

“We had after school club activities today… You see, there is a legend going around the school that, a long time ago, a former student died in the second floor's bathroom, and her spirit could still be seen and heard by other students…” Her tone was increasingly more excited, as she kept telling the story to Elsie, “So, we decided that we would camp in the bathroom for the whole night, just so we could see if the legend was true! But, then—”

“You were seriously planning to sleep in the school's bathroom!?” Elsie interrupted Sophia once again. “Seriously, what is wrong with the people of your club~!?”

Sophia's small grin, turned back into a worrisome expression. “Th-That's when I remembered that you had requested my services after school today, so I apologized to the members of the club before running back to the school's gate!”

A small "hmph" could be heard coming out of Elsie's mouth, followed by mumbles in which Sophia couldn't understand, but guessed it was more of the white haired girl's critiques aimed at her. Because of that, she mentally scolded herself before promising for herself that she wouldn't open her mouth ever again until Elsie herself requested it.

…That promise didn't take long, however, once she noted that the walk back home seemed a little too long.

“Um… Excuse me, Elsie-san…?”

“Yes~?” The smaller turned around with her usual cheeky smile on her face.

“We… Don't seem to be going home…”

She pretended to be surprised, before answering, “oh, haven't Elsie told you? Elsie needed your services at the restaurant she wants to dine tonight. This one right there!”

Elsie pointed at the restaurant, and, if the surprise of going to a restaurant after school wasn't enough for her to scream, then the sudden "invitation" to dine in a fancy restaurant certainly was.

To say that Sophia was feeling out of place in this restaurant was an understatement; She really, truly believed that she didn't belong anywhere near there. Her thoughts were more paranoiac than ever before, she just couldn't stop thinking that everyone there wanted her dead. She just wanted to hide under the table and die there; what is she doing in a place like that anyways? Can't Elsie just say what she needs to do so she can leave there as fast as possible?

She was visibly trembling, of course that would have caught the attention of Elsie once or later – looking at the blue haired girl from the top down, finally breaking the silence with a simple statement:

“Elsie thought you would like the table that Neo-sama booked for us.”

The girl that was trembling a moment ago, suddenly stopped still. If Elsie didn't know her, she would be afraid that she would drop dead at any second now.

“N… Neo-sama booked this table…?” She said surprised, but still quietly, “for us, nonetheless…?”

“Yes, yes! She wanted to treat her favorite group member and you for something nice once in a while.”

“W-Well… If that's the case, then…” a smile began to appear on the corner of Sophia's face, accompanied with her cheeks slowly turning red. Soon enough she brought her hands to her face, and her dreamy eyes were probably thinking about Neo's kindness – not a single trace of her anxiousness from seconds ago is left.

‘A point for Elsie!��� Is what the shorter one thought for herself.

It wasn't really a lie that Neo was the one who booked the table for them, no, Elsie would never lie like that~! Neo merely did it… After Elsie's requests, of course. If anything, what made Elsie feel better about it was Neo's approval of her plan, claiming it was good for Sophia, after all.

“Elsie already knows what she's going to eat~! What about you, Sophia? Elsie is feeling nice today, so she's going to make your order too.” The white haired girl put down the menu and started looking around for the nearest waiter.

“Am I allowed to eat…?”

Albeit Sophia's question was genuine, Elsie still couldn't help but be taken aback by such a question.

“Of course you're allowed to eat!” Elsie answered, but tried to not be so harsh on her, afraid that Sophia would go back to the anxious state she was in when they arrived. “And you better eat at least two meals of the full course they provide here! After all, how am I– I mean, how is Neo-sama supposed to know where to take you next!?”

Sophia shyly picks up the menu, and goes over the choices of every meal; Hesitant of troubling Elsie any further, but still obeying her requests, she only requested for an appetizer and a salad, instead of the full four meal course Elsie ordered for herself. Later, after much insistence on Elsie's part, Sophia got a desert as well – the same one as her friend, since she was in doubt on what to get herself.

They spent quite a while in the restaurant, so much so the night had already taken over the city when they made their way back home. This time, Elsie was alongside Sophia, not in front of her, talking about everything she could, while the blue haired one only listened to it.

However, there was something in the back of Sophia's mind, that she still hadn't got the chance to ask. Right in front of the mansion where Abyssmare lived together, Sophia gathered the courage to ask the shorter one.

“Hm… Elsie-san, may I ask you a question?”

Elsie simply nodded, with a simple ‘Go ahead’.

“What did you need me for anyways? I-I mean, you said that you needed me to do something for you after school… But all that I did was dine and talk to you. Have I… Done something wrong?”

Elsie's good spirits suddenly disappeared; her cute smile turned into a "angry" face, puffing her cheeks, she simply yells:

“You're the worst, Sophia! Elsie takes you on a date, treats you with everything, and you still don't get it!? Right before she was going to give you a kiss on the cheek too!” She stomps her feet on the floor before running inside. “Next time, you'll have to ask for a kiss yourself!”

Of course, Sophia was left confused and, honestly, feeling a little bad about the things Elsie said. But… Oddly happy knowing that there will be a… next time…?

Well, that’s the Daily Mail. I wouldn’t assume that was something pushed from Harry’s team. They’ve taken fandom chatter for headlines many times before. Plus, we know that both Harry and T*ylor’s name mean clicks. And honestly, H*ylor stans were the first people I thought of when I saw the photo of H with Haim. 🙄 I love that Harry has had so little contact with her since they “dated” that they have to use a twelve year old photo to connect them.

Hello, & welcome to my blog. This is a WORK IN PROGRESS, cross-over/multiverse inclusive & plot driven roleplaying account for Nano Kasura. Primarily set within the Honkai Star Rail & Impact 3rd worlds respectively - with other media inspiration into the portrayal of the individual itself. They are heavily intertwined with my Acheron & Yuri's Kiana Kaslana.

    Right off the bat, I'd like to say I'm quite new with world building & character building. A lot of things may not make sense, may change, may get twisted on my own accord, though this is part of the process. Things here will continue to be added or removed as I see fit to, in order to perfect what I wanted to do.

    Nano is a lesbian portrayed character on this blog, however, she may 'flirt' with male characters as a way to achieve what she wants - which is ultimately their blood supply. ( As they are considered a vampire in common, this is something that's needed in order to survive. Otherwise, it is a way to boost sales during her work as a bartender, or to satiate boredom & see what all the receiver could do for her. Please don't mistake this as Nano genuinely coming onto your character. )

To add* Nano is multiship, though everything is kept in an au sense unless plotted otherwise.

design notes: one of the main sticking points, if not the principal, was how you had to get out of the RV in order to access the fridges or freezers in the trunks deck

we have displaced the toilet seat which was too tight against the wall, posting these notes as they come order them by deck next, so there's different improvements, whereas I first thought of updating previous visuals no it shows progression towards a final version

then there's the best boy daiki, which we have a whole au where he gets adopted into the bakugou family after he and katsuki got along and katsuki's parents decided to provide some stability... well, as much as you can get in the bakugou household. these two are the best of friends and best of brothers, even when they collide with each other, but that's what makes them so fun to talk about? i just love the entire dynamic we've built for them around that concept. and eventually, daiki is gonna have to drag his adoptive family to meet his extended family in europe, because it's going to be fun watching poor katsuki out of his ELEMENT the entire time.

Computers don't understand what an image is, as far as they're concerned, everything is just a bunch of ones and zeros. Problem is: how do you know whether something is a photo, a video, a song, text, or some random junk?

Well, we make a promise that we'll structure each kind of data in a specific way so the computer can understand it and do what we want it to do. These are file types.

But there are many ways of storing data in zeros and ones, so a lot of people came up with different promises because they had different priorities.

For example, jpegs allow you to store images without taking up too much space, but they don't store the image perfectly, they'll cheat and create some weird visual glitches sometimes. This is very useful for high-res photography since those images can get huge, but the visual glitches only become visible if you really zoom in.

PNGs on the other hand, store the image perfectly, but they'll take up more space. Which is more appropriate for illustration or pixel art where you as the artist want full control.

I don't know what makes two computers connected to each other or not, and how computers connect to things like printers. I don't really understand what "connect" means.

There are two parts to connections: having a physical way of two computers talking such as Wi-Fi or a physical cable connecting the machines; and having a protocol.

Since computers only talk in ones and zeros, computers need a way to communicate with each other, and protocols do that! They'll cover things like "I'm talking now", and "I'm done talking" and "I'll send data over following this specification: <long technical talk>"

Connection means that the two devices are physically connected in some way (cables, or light wave bullshit), can understand each other and start a conversation (the devices basically say "Hi" and then go "If I have something important to say, I'll send it over here, so keep listening.")

Now, as far the end user needs to be concerned this means two things:

You need to ensure you have a physical connection such as the printer is in the same Wi-Fi as your machine, or the printer is connected to your machine with a cable;

You need to ensure your machine can talk to the printer. If it's a cable connection, you need to install firmware from the printer (basically a set of instructions that will tell your computer how to talk with the printer) - the manufacturer's website will usually have them for download. If it's over Wi-Fi, it should work as long as you're in the same Wi-Fi. When trying to print stuff, there should be an option to send it to the printer.

I don't know what a "program" is and how that's different from a "file."

Programs are instructions for the computer, you can think of them as Apps if you like - in fact, all apps are programs. Files are data.

So say, Discord or Firefox or Photoshop are programs because you can run them and they'll tell the computer stuff like "Draw the user interface" and "Do <whatever the app> does" and stuff like that.

Files are just a data representation. Stuff like photos, videos, music ... and programs.

Remember when I said the computer only understands ones and zeros? That also applies to programs, they're just a blob of ones and zeros the computer can understand without needing another program.

Some programs operate on programs (that's how we develop software! Imagine writing something like a browser by just writing ones and zeros, it'd be awful!), some only operate on data like Photoshop opening a photo, or a .psd, and some don't touch files at all, taking input from hardware (like a keyboard) or getting input over the Internet.

I don't know what a "network" is. If the whole thing of computers is sharing files why do I have to email files to myself to access them on a different device

A network is basically just a bunch of computers that can talk to each other. Wi-Fi is a form of network. Bluetooth is a network. Just cabling the computers together (and having the proper protocols installed via firmware) is another type of network.

Now, just because they *can* talk to each other, it doesn't mean you can do anything you want. If me and you were on the same room, I wouldn't be able to look through your bag if you didn't give it to me first - it would be 1) just not physically possible if you didn't give it to me and 2) a breach of privacy if you didn't consent to it.

So, you need to have some way to ship information across a network that's safe (don't want a third party in the same room being able to look through your bag before it gets to me) and consensual. There are a bunch of ways of doing stuff like that but stuff like DropBox, Google Cloud, iCloud or just e-mailing stuff is usually the more convenient and user-friendly route.

Now, there are a lot of small details that I wasn't particularly rigorous here, but those should be the basics for the things you mentioned. Does that help a bit?
