okay now for some random jamiyuu dynamics/hcs/lore

yuu fell first -> yuu lost feelings (bc why would you trust someone who took advantage you) -> ✨ then something happened ✨ -> jamil fell next but harder.

highkey disliked each other -and showed it- in the beginning bc of the whole scarabia drama; then an -accidental- act of service got them to think differently about one another. like "holy shit maybe they're not so bad after all???"

extremely slow burn.

very competitive with one another which then bled into their "flirting" / affectionate acts when they eventually became closer.

basically: “sweetheart” but rivalry -> “babe” but platonically -> “bro” but romantically pipeline.

yuu kinda throws around “love you” a lot, especially to her close friends; so -during their “platonic” stage- for some reason, jamil was the only “friend” she has not said this to. but it’s okay it’s not like jamil had referred to her as the “f-word” (friend) anyway.

had a mutual agreement that their romantic relationship is temporary because of yuu wanting to go home; they’re just going to “try it out” “no hard feelings”.

yuu made jamil promise to never use snake whisper on her ever again.

jamil: personal beef w/ bugs + afraid of them; yuu: personal beef w/ bugs (w/ a few exceptions) + not afraid of them, just generally pissed at their existence.

dancing and music lowkey became one of their love languages.

kalim genuinely became one yuu’s best friends because of how much they hit it off. jamil always third wheels them no matter the circumstance.

yuu loves grim more than jamil; jamil knows this very well. and so does grim.

they're absolutely TERRIBLE at it

they will try their very best to follow recipes and will still end up with something undercooked, burned, or downright inedible. Miele's already bad enough with numbers in general, let alone quantities: groceries? They overthink what to get to the point they end up getting too much of an ingredient just because "it looked too small for a dish". Salting? They have no idea how much salt is enough (and they never learn), so it's either a fistful of it or none at all. Eggs? An average percentage of 80% of the box ends up on the floor, or outside the bowl.

Using a pan is the equivalent of taming a dragon, except the dragon wins everytime.

Once they managed to learn how to make tea that doesn't taste like dirty water for guests, they concluded that was the apex of their culinary career. Pre-cooked meals and takeaway will never fail them.

Someone [position open to anyone who wants to apply] bought them an electric toaster. It lasted 2 days.

It hadn't been just a few minutes ago, but one by one, for one reason or another, those who had been milling around during equipment checks and rehearsal had dispersed elsewhere. When the songbird opened her eyes, she would find that they had all left her, and that each seat was now empty, except for one - a familiar face reclined in the front row.

"I'd come to hear you singing no matter where I am," he said with an easy smile, as if to explain the unasked question about why he was here. Slowly, he rose to his feet and approached the stage. "Must be liberating being somewhere that doesn't know your face yet, eh?"

It happened in the space of a single moment. A blink that had gone on for too long, the gravity of butterfly lashes powered by a songbird's sentiment—and a breath that had lapsed into a brief yet somehow heavy silence. She had been contemplating which song to sing next, as it would be the last before they ended for the day. When Robin opened her eyes, however, she was surprised to find the rehearsal space deserted. The sound team, the directing team, the stage managers, even the passerby who had stopped to listen to her singing: It was all brought to egress.

The sounds of music and laugher echoed faintly through the air, but Robin caught it in her ears. Penacony had been like this once—laughter and music. She smiled a small, perhaps bittersweet smile. Would it ever go back? She didn't have the answer. Maybe she never would.

"Though I've come here for work, I've actually been here before as a tourist," she said, returning to Gallagher, "so I know that there are plenty of sights to see around Fontaine. If you have nowhere else to be, would you like to tour around the city with me? I'll take you somewhere nice."

There's also the fact that they still become friends in UTDP and DRS where Nagito knows Hajime is Reserve Course right off the bat

I know people like their enemies-to-lovers dynamics (which is valid) but personally I don't think that Nagito would actually truly hate Hajime for being talentless. He'd probably tease/make fun of him and be an insufferable little prick but I don't think he'd be outright cruel or a bully.

Yeah Nagito was mean in Chpt 4 but there was a lot shit going on in Chpt 4 and at that point he was just bitter and angry in general, so I don't think it's that accurate of a representation of what he'd be like in less dire circumstances

I AM ALSO NOT NORMAL ABOUT THIS the reason why he was so hostile to hajime ch4 was because he was actively trying to hate hajime, because in his worldview the talentless are worthless and meant to be hated (hence why he hates himself). but of course you cant just stop loving someone at will (“i know you dont matter at all, so why do i still care about you?”). his love for hajime and seeing how hajime was able to overcome his despair trial 6 was what singlehandedly broke komaedas worldview about the talentless and talented and therefore broke his reasoning for hating himself so deeply and this is WHY. I AM SO CRAZY. ABOUT THEM
