Hi, Elise bestie!

- This is creatively called 'Random Fic'. Caroline had an almost one-night stand that went really bad and a year later they meet again at Tyler's wedding. They hate each other but end up having to join forces to save the wedding because Carol hates the bride (Hayley) and they're having pre-marital issues. Also, it's possible the whole thing that ended up getting Caroline to bad mouth Klaus to basically everyone she knows might have been a misunderstanding.

Carol takes care of the small talk, asking Caroline about her life in New York. What she really wants to know, though - and is painfully unsubtle about - is whether she's bringing anyone as a date to the wedding and if that means she's not seeing anyone. Caroline smiles curtly and replies, "No one serious," pretending not to notice Klaus' amusement as Carol launches into a long monologue about how young people these days are too capricious and scared of real commitments and, when they do decide to tie the knot, they seem to do it for all the wrong reasons - which is not only taking a jab at Caroline, but at Tyler as well. Multitasking at its finest.

"You're absolutely right, Carol," Klaus says because, apparently, he's incapable of dodging a chance to torture Caroline if the opportunity presents itself to him. "I tell the same thing to my sister every time she shows up with a new boyfriend. Rebekah falls in love with someone faster than she changes her designer dresses. It's hard to even keep up."

Carol shakes her head. "It's just so sad. I guess romance really is dead."

"Well, how about you, Niklaus?" Caroline asks, stabbing her chicken with a bit more energy than necessary. "Why aren't you married with kids as a good, honest man of a certain age should be?"

"I'm still young -"

"If you say so."

"And I suppose I haven't found the right girl yet."

"You're a fabulous young man," Carol says. Caroline refrains from rolling her eyes, but only just. "It's a wonder you're still single. You must have women lining up at your door." Carol laughs like it's a funny joke; Klaus smirks like it's true; Caroline's lips twist into a nasty little grin because what she really wants to do is punch that pretty face of his.

"Oh, it really is a wonder," she remarks, words drenched in irony. "So you're not sleeping around?"

"Caroline -" Carol tries to cut in.

"Jumping from one girl to the next faster than you change shirts?"

"That's inappropriate -"

"Like, say, hooking up with more than one person on the same night?"

Carol lets out a nervous giggle. "I don't know what kind of man you've been seeing in New York, Caroline, but Klaus isn't like that. He's a gentleman."

Caroline fixes Klaus with an icy glare and a mean smile. To his credit, he has the decency of looking away from her. "Of course. Niklaus is definitely, definitely not that kind of guy. I must be too influenced by trashy new yorkers."

I'll put a snippet of Hoe Fic under the cut! 😈 Is there anything you enjoy doing that you think your readers hate? I'm not sure. Cliffhangers? Maybe? Never updating after posting? 🤣 🌝 Who is one character you haven’t yet written for that you would like to? At this point I think I've written for all the characters I genuinely care for. I have even written for the ones I don't like (*cough*Kol*cough* 😠). ✨ Choose three adjectives to complement your own writing. Uhh... 😬😬 Damn, this one's hard. Dialogue-y. IC (it's a word now, don't argue). Eclectic? 🤣 I don't know, I think my fics are varied in theme, style, etc. ANYWAY. lol Thanks for sending me asks, friend! ❤️ And if anyone else would like to play, send me an emoji from this list. Here's for the snippet! It's just a draft, so forive my French and also everything else.

"How are you enjoying the party?" Elijah asks conversationally, like he's a mere amicable acquaintance and not the bane of Klaus' tormented existence.

"Rather boring but not too daunting up until the point I was accosted by you," he replies with tersely. "What do you want?"

"Merely to make sure that you'll save a dance to Lady Aurora."

The scoff that escapes Klaus' lips is so loud people turn to look, which earns him a simmering glare from Elijah. "You cannot be serious," he says. "For Christ's sake, Elijah -"

"Brother," Elijah interrupts his complaint, raising his tone above Klaus'. "Need I remind you of our conversation just the other day?"

"I recall our conversation every hour of every day, brother. It rings inside my skull like the bells of hell chiming to announce the end of times. Gives me one hellish headache that never eases away, no matter how many spirits I try to quench it with. Do you sincerely see me attending a garden party on a Sunday morning if not for your abominable threat?"

Failing to notice the bite in Klaus' voice, or perhaps feeling all the prouder for it, Elijah grins. "Well, then. Make good use of your time by investing it wisely."

"In Aurora De Martel," Klaus snides.

"She's a perfectly -"

"Insufferable little pest," he finishes for Elijah. "Are you not satisfied with having me subjecting myself to the ton's ridiculous rites, must you also choose who I will or will not set my eyes upon?"

"The issue, Niklaus, is that I do not see you setting your eyes upon anyone."

He draws in a deep sigh, heavy with weariness. He places a hand on his brother's shoulder, looking him in the eyes with all the condescension he can muster. "Just because you married the first desperate woman who feigned a swoon in front of you, Elijah, it does not mean I must abide by the same idiocy. I'd rather take my time with my observations."

Elijah peels his hand away like one who touches something foul, lips twisting with irritation. Perhaps meekness would be advisable in such circumstances; Elijah does have the means to make Klaus' life hell in ways that will make a garden party hoarded with debutantes and their fearsome mamas feel like a delightful morning. But Klaus cannot help the satisfaction upon seeing he's touched a nerve on his ever-unflappable brother. Two can play this game.

"If you're observing, Niklaus," Elijah continues, "then there should be no problem with keeping tabs on lady Aurora. I hear she's a lovely dancer."

Klaus huffs out with annoyance. "Elijah -"

"Allow me to make myself clear, Niklaus, in case I stuttered before. Believe me when I say that my threats were not empty ones, unlike your bravado and that ridiculous brazen attitude you sport like that makes you anything other than insufferable. I have been far too lenient with your whims, Niklaus, and I take responsibility for how unruly you've grown, but I wouldn't test me if I were you. Or do, and see where that takes you." He plasters a charming smile on his face, fixing Klaus' cravat. "Do enjoy your day, brother. And do be sure to keep an eye out for Rebekah, will you? She's a trifle too over-excited with the attention she's been receiving. I'm afraid her vanity will get the best of her." He shrugs one shoulder with an air of helplessness. "She's taken an awful lot after you."

First impression

- I wasn't that interested on Enzo when he first shows up as Damon's buddie? I don't know, it probably had to do with that whole Augustine plot, which i hated. So boring. And then that whole thing about him being in love with Mama Salvatore was just blergh. So not a great first impression tbh, I thought he was just there to fill the British accent quota left by the originals.

Impression now

- Still not a favorite tbh. 🤣 I think Enzo peaked for a while there when he started going rogue and had that hate to buddies thing with Caroline, which was probably my favorite Enzo part. But then he joins Damon with the sirens and all that crap, blargh. I didn't really watch much of the show around that time tbh, I was bored by everything and Enzo was just one of those things.

Favorite moment

- The whole Carenzo phase was the part where I really liked Enzo. He was his most charming and charismatic in those days, and I really loved him with Caroline. Was SO ready to board the SS Carenzo, but alas. :(

Idea for a story

- Involving Enzo lol That's tough. I don't usually include him in fics. I'm trying to think if I have him in any of my wips, but i'm not sure... I think the most I've used him was as Caroline's BFF in The Sound of Starbucks™.

Unpopular opinion

- Hated Bonenzo. It came out of nowhere and they had no chemistry. It was literally one day 'TA-DAM, THEY LOVE EACH OTHER!' All of their development and proximity happened through flashbacks. But I was still angry when they killed him at the end because wtf? They needed me to hate Stefan MORE at that point? Can't Bonnie catch a break and just be happy for once? Jesus.

Favorite headcanon

- Enzo and Caroline ending up in Nola during that roadtrip of theirs. Can you imagine what Klaus would be like when he met Caroline's new *friend*? LOL And Enzo obviously about him from Damon, he would be all 'So that's your type, huh?' Oh man, that would've been awesome. SIGH.

New Blog

9. Recommend something that you really enjoyed in 2021.

Thanks to @whywaitdarling I started listening to Old Gods of Appalachia this year, which is a horror antology podcast focused on folklore around the Appalachian mountains. The narrator is absolutely brilliant and the stories are amazing. They have two full seasons now and a few side stories, if I'm not mistaken. It's just amazing. Stuff about witches, werewolves, ghosts, devilish creatures... Also, talk to @whywaitdarling, cause she's from the area and she vouches for some of those stories, which makes me want to go there just to get haunted. 🥲 It's so, so good and also inspired me to write The Witch Queen. So I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoyed that story.

11. Name a fellow fan who you really appreciated this year.

I've already named a bunch of my favorite peeps on a previous post, so on this one I will name another of my patooties, who's also one of the most talented people I know in this fandom: @destellolunar. ❤️✨ She has been super busy and not as around as we all wish she'd been, but she still brightens up my day (and usually my timeline as well) whenever she shows up. ✨ Hope you have a wonderful 2022, Beenana! ❤️

14. What do you want to do more of next year?

Read books. I've said this before but I have also just bought five new books (on top of all the other ones I already have 🥲 I'm not a horder, ok? I just like my books), so I really REALLY want to go back to my 50 books a year mark at least.

15. What are you looking forward to coming out in 2022?

I hope covid LEAVES so I can actually take some time off from work this year and maybe think about traveling again.

I'm late to the party, but The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo was the best book I read this year and I can't recommend it enough! I would also recommend The Guinevere Deception to anyone who enjoys fantasy/King Arthur retellings, but the last book is kind of a disappointment, so maybe not. 🥲 For TV Shows, Midnight Mass and Mare of Easttown. I also FINALLY watched I May Destroy You this year and it's absolutely brilliant.

11. Name a fellow fan who you really appreciated this year.

Oh, man! Honestly, I appreciate everyone who came over to my blog to interact and talk to this silly clown here, because I love doing that, so thanks very much for indulging my procrastination! 😙✌️ But have to send a big shout-out to my tubs @recyclingss, @definedareasofuncertainty, @enniec123 and @diaz-eddie, who put up with me on a nearly daily basis and are also some of the sweetest, most supportive people I know. I have truly learned so much from them and they make my experience in fandom better every day. Nat and Luiza are my my target audience and sometimes my only audience and I do not know that I would still be writing if it wasn't for them (so if you don't like my writing, you can take it up with them). ❤️ Also bestie @whywaitdarling, who's one the funniest people ever and never fails to make my day with some very unexpected animal pic I didn't know I needed more than air. ❤️ @misssophiachase has been making The Originals a whole lot better than it truly is by watching it with me and it's something I have come to look forward to so much! @xdevilsheartx has been around through comments for such a long time, but we started talking this year and I'm very grateful. ❤️

And lastly, I'm just grateful to everyone who has kept feeding my KC addiction by creating stuff, reblogging stuff, writing, making gifs, edits, leaving comments, writing recs, rec lists, whatever. That's truly what keeps fandom alive, even so many years after both shows ended.
