Oh look, it seems everyone has been opted into the unfortunate "experiment" now. For everyone who has been blissfully using the old UI up until now, welcome to hell :)
Do you not like hell? Do you want to leave and crawl back up into the sunlight of the old UI? Well, have I got a link for you! A beautiful tumblr user (who is not me) has gone and fixed things beautifully for you already: https://github.com/enchanted-sword/dashboard-unfucker
You will need to have Tampermonkey installed on your browser of choice, and once that's done, just go to the github link above, and peruse the readme to install. And voila! You have your old dash back!
The authors of XKit Rewritten said during the experiments that at the time, since this was an "experiment" they weren't going to implement anything to revert to the old UI (although who knows if they'll do it now). And the dashboard unfucker has worked beautifully enough for me to where I genuinely couldn't tell if they had ended the experiment or not.

Making Predictions About Suo
Tumblr media
Suo is one of the most mysterious and complex characters, and I want to make some predictions about him. I’m aware that most of you already know what I’m about to cover but I need to spell out the evidence here to make my arguments. So let's get right into it:
Warning: minor manga spoilers ahead
GOING OVER THE EVIDENCE
1. Nobody knows about Suo’s past.
Not even Umemiya, who is basically the ears of Bofurin.
Tumblr media
That's a big deal. Not only is he a mystery to us, but he's a mystery to everyone in the story. Nirei has no real data on him. Hiragi says he heard his name a lot but went to a different school. Which also begs the question, why did he come to Makochi?
2. Suo talks about his master and his style fondly.
After he has a fight with man-bun guy, Nirei asks him about his fighting style and Suo says this:
Tumblr media
Notice the way he talks about his master. It seems rather fond. He doesn't flinch. He doesn't seize. He seems uncomfortable talking about himself, but he's still willing to share. If Suo has any angst it doesn't seem to be related to his master and style. So what is Suo's source of angst and who is this master of his?
3. Suo has a “diet” where he never eats with anyone.
Tumblr media
In a show were eating with other people is a big deal, he repeatedly refuses to eat food with other people. There is zero chance this is a quirk or an actual diet. He doesn't even eat during a leadership summit, where it's sort of disrespectful to refuse.
4. Suo is almost certainly hiding arm tattoos.
We NEVER see Suo in short sleeves. Even in the merch and advertisements. He never shows his bare arms.
Tumblr media
And in the beach episode, he seems to avoid taking off his clothes to swim, and doesn't even want to risk getting wet. Probably out of fear of water making his rash guard see through. (Also why does he wear a long sleeve rash guard if he has no intention of swimming.)
5. He’s going to fight Sakura at some point.
This is not a fact per-se, but it's been hinted. Sakura is already thinking about ways to get Suo to fight him seriously.
Tumblr media
Suo and Sakura have this strange rivalry were Suo has already conceded defeat. There's this strange tension between them. They're basically opposites. A man with nothing to hide verse a man with everything to hide. And the only way its going to be resolved is by "talking" through fighting.
Recap
Nobody knows about Suo’s past.
Suo talks about his master and his style fondly.
Suo has a “diet” where he never eats with anyone.
Suo is almost certainly hiding a tattoo.
It’s been hinted that he’s going to fight Sakura seriously.
Using these established facts we can start to make some deductions and predictions about his story arc.
DEDUCTIONS/PREDICTIONS
Questions: 4a- Why would Suo hide/be ashamed of a tattoo?  3a- Why isn’t he eating?
Tumblr media
Answer: He’s ashamed. He doesn’t eat for the same reason child Umemiya wouldn’t eat. He hates himself and the tattoo he's hiding has something to do with it. He’s so guilty he can’t even eat. So chances are Suo was a scumbag in the past. The only people in the scope of this story who do super evil things are evil gangs, which is likely where the tattoo comes from.
Questions: 4b- How can Suo be friendly/good if he was in an evil gang? 2b- How can Suo have a nice master if he was in an evil gang? 1b- Why does Suo even go to Furin in the first place if he’s not from around there?
Answer: His eye. Suo lost his eye somehow and that turned him into an angry resentful person who fell into the wrong crowd. We see this in the KEEL arc where he temporarily regressed back into his revenge obsessed "eye-for-an-eye" mindset.
Tumblr media
But eventually Suo must have had a crisis of conscience, and Suo was likely redeemed by his sensei somehow. His sensei was a positive infulence in his life and may even be the reason he turned into a sinophile. His sensei made Suo into the friendly person he is today. In fact, he may have been the one to suggest going to Bofurin as a way to make friends and “further his training.”
Question: 5c- How are Sukura and Suo going to fight if they are close friends?
Answer: Suo is going to be blackmailed into leaving Bofurin. Sakura is going to fight him to stay but ultimately lose.
Tumblr media
Or more generally, Suo is going to do something Sakura completely disagrees with. And it will almost certainly be about his old gang. I don’t see Suo becoming a real villain, so he’s most likely going to be blackmailed. Suo will see this as a rational self sacrifice (which is on theme with the KEEL and Gravel story arcs). Sakura will challenge Suo to a fight on the condition that if he wins Suo will stay, but Sakura will lose. Sugishita will replace him as the third party member and this will force Sugi to grow, which is the first new plot element introduced after the Noroshi war.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Tumblr media
Given these deductions we can guess a SUPER VAGUE order of events. These are all vague predictions. Some of it could be false, but I’m 80% sure that 80% of this will be true:
>Suo will leave suddenly after his old gang blackmails him to return. >Sakura will fight to stop him but lose. >Class 1-1 will form a task force to find Suo. (This could take many chapters resulting in Sugishita taking his place.) >Class 1-1 will eventually find Suo at the evil gang base. >Sakura and Suo will have a rematch where he comes home. > The gang will declare war on Bofurin/Makochi unless they surrender Suo. (This could even lead to another Extinction war.)
But theses are just my guesses. Ultimately, I have no idea where Nii-sensei is going to take the story. But the evidence seems to point in this self-deprecating direction...

So, I just went through Nii-sensei's twitter and found some very, very interesting stuff!!
Nii-sensei came up with Sakura design as early as 2018
Nii-sensei drew an OC a while ago with caption "the top student got tattoo on his back" so I think all the theories that Suo is hiding mafia tattoo might be true...??
Nii-sensei has drawn another OC who looks like Kiryu and depicts them as a goofy character at school who's actually came from a strict traditional household, so this might be related to Kiryu's backstory...??
Nii-sensei drew Sakura getting along with tigers twice! I think it might be related with Sakura often being compared with a cat (tigers are basically just big cats, LOL)
Nii-sensei also drew a lot Tokyo Revengers and High&Low fanarts but I'm not sure if Nii-sensei is really into gangster stories or was just looking for some inspo since he said in an interview that he'd originally wanted to do a sports manga.

The book starts off establishing that Dalinar is bad at following his clock. Now the only connection they have to the physical realm is that Dalinar and Hoids clocks are synced
Who cares about hubris or being a tyrant, I think it’s clear what character flaw this book will adress

wind predictions (and some thunder ramblings)
so astc thunder just came out and it was fire!
(MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR THUNDER UNDER THE CUT)
So curlfeather was just the best and I loved her so so much, it was SO INSANE HOW SHE WAS EVIL??? i literally could not believe it. I mean, like, my brain went: “oh what? Is this a fake vision? Am I misunderstanding? Cuz she is NOT EVIL”
Before she had the “curlfeather is evil” vision and river star was like “ermmm you can’t see her in starclan rn” I thought maybe she could be in DF by a starclan misunderstanding? Or somehow died in starclan or DF? But it never crossed my mind she could be evil, what the twist!
I feel like curlfeather being evil is a little weird and doesn’t really fit in with the character they made her be, all nice and such? It kinda seems like a forced twist thinking about it, but cool and unexpected anyways.
AGHHHH I TOTALLY THOUGHT FROSTPAW’S FIRST VISIONS WERE REALL GRRRRRR it was by far the best part of the twist when we found out her first visions weren’t real. I think (hope) we all thought Frostpaw was becoming a warrior apprentice because she had too much pressure and stress and her visions were real, she just didn’t want to believe that.
but they actually weren’t real and just her mind??? That’s crazy, this book was INSANE
ALSO I FEEL LIKE FROSTPAW SHOULD HAVE REACTED MORE TO CURLFEATHER BEING EVIL?? After her vision she just went “Alr let’s head back now”
anyways, youre here for wind predictions, not thunder rambling.
I really hope the prologue is gonna be curlfeather in DF, but honestly speaking it’s probably gonna be Berryheart or Splashtail or something.
I really want an interaction with Frostpaw and Curlfeather, I kinda wish Shadowsight could still see DF now because I need some cat to talk to curlfeather and find out what her actual motive other than I wanna be leader isss
Let’s be real, her only motive is “I wanna be leader”, isn’t it?
I would like to know if her reaction is “yeah I totally made up all ur visions and never loved u XD” or “ummm evil?? Murder??? Whaattt????”
I assume nightheart n Frostpaw are gonna run into the gathering (or warriors is gonna disappoint us and have them only say it to RC, ofc) and say everything. Splashtail’s gonna be like “ummmm huh?? Huh?? Wdym???”
in the end, I really want Frostpaw to become lead??? Like we haven’t had a protagonist with even a slightly powerful role like mentor since the prophecies begin?
it would be pretty refreshing, although poor mothwing, still nobody in this clan can talk to starclan 😭, and she’s still all alone 🤡
I want you guys to tell me what characters could potentially be lead! I’m gonna hold a vote soon! I have nightheart, Frostpaw, sunbeam, duskfur, splashtail, and tigerstar down as choice so far!

Linked Universe Daemon AU Headcanons
WORLDBUILDING NOTE 1: The concept of daemons is borrowed from the His Dark Materials series. A daemon is a person’s soul manifested outside of their body in a tangible, physical form, which permanently settles into the form of the animal that most resembles them in character as the individual matures. Person and daemon are not separate beings, but two halves of one mental coin, which means that they each know everything the other does, thinks, and senses. Daemons are almost always the opposite gender of their person and have a distinct personality than the person to a certain degree, as person and daemon represent different aspects of the same whole. Touching someone’s daemon without their permission is taboo, considered a violation tantamount to rape in most cultures.
WORLDBUILDING NOTE 2: All Links have the same name for their daemon: Ellanharai (composed of the Old German elements ellan “courage” and heri “army”). However, because all the Links are their own person, their daemon’s form settles on something different with each incarnation. Just as the Links in the Chain go by different titles to differentiate them all, so, too, do their daemons. Links tend to settle early (12-13 years), as they generally know who they are and what they want from a young age.
WORLDBUILDING NOTE 3: The Dark World/Twili crystal magic combines someone and their daemon into one physical body. This new body has the form of the daemon but the gender of the person with size alterations or different markings/coloration and is controlled by the person, with the daemon part of their mind taking a backseat. For example, Legend is larger as a rabbit than his daemon usually is, and of course, her natural color is not bright pink. The lingering effects of this transformation only physically affect the person side of the person/daemon pair once they are returned to normal.
---
SKY + PSALM (RED-CROWNED CRANE)
Tumblr media
Red-crowned cranes are renowned for their lasting and affectionate pair bonds, having come to represent longevity and devotion in many cultures; they are cooperative and low-aggression birds, quite tolerant and relaxed around other animals, and only really become territorial and protective over their nesting sites and chicks.
Psalm is impatient, mischievous, and fierce. Sky is more easygoing, considerate, and gentle.
Sky and Psalm are very outwardly affectionate with each other, and both can often be found napping together in a patch of sunlight, Psalm resting her head in Sky’s lap or draping a wing over him. As the physically tallest daemon of the bunch, Psalm delights in teasing fawning over her smaller daemon sisters, especially the younger ones. She will often sit on someone and happily brood, and while some may outwardly protest, everyone secretly enjoys it.
---
FOUR + RHYME (ITALIAN HEBRAN HONEYBEE)
Tumblr media
Four's daemon is an industrious, adaptable, cooperative, sociable species of honeybee, known for being assertive but not aggressive insects; they have a high threshold for what they consider threats, and will communicate using pheromones, body language, and vocalizations to make themselves as clearly understood as possible, but they will not hesitate to defend themselves if something is deemed a threat.
Four is empathetic, observant, passionate, and composed. Rhyme is the emotional, pragmatic, impulsive, competitive part of his personality.
Rhyme is usually kept in a protective case Four wears around his neck to prevent any harm from coming to her either in battle or out of it, due to her diminutive size, but he will happily let her out to stretch her wings when around people he trusts. While she is too small to outright cuddle with her sisters, Rhyme loves perching on their heads or burrowing into feathers or fur when it’s chilly, and she’s surprisingly expressive with her body language, though one might have to squint to see it.
When Four splits into his Colors, Rhyme also splits. Which means instead of one being in two bodies, they’re now one being in eight bodies. As in LU canon, none of the Colors is their own individual in this AU, merely a fraction of a larger whole. In turn, each iteration of Rhyme is an alternate part of each of the Colors, with Four’s soul fragmenting into smaller and smaller individual pieces the deeper you go down.
---
TIME + MELODY (SPANISH FARON MASTIFF)
Tumblr media
While menacing in appearance due to their sheer size and bulk, Spanish mastiffs are actually known for being protective, affectionate, quiet dogs, with a long history of guarding livestock; they are patient, easygoing, and surprisingly playful, good with children and tolerant of other animals, though their strong wills and stubbornness make them a challenge to handle for first-time dog owners.
Time is authoritative, jaded, and stoic, while Melody embodies his nurturing, hopeful, mischievous side.
Melody can often be found at Time’s side with one of his hands resting on her head or back. As the largest daemon in the group paired with the tallest person, they make for quite the intimidating pair and are downright deadly in battle together. Outside of battle, though, Melody becomes a big teddy bear, utterly content to let her daughters sisters use her as a pillow or mode of transportation, quietly communicating all the warm care and tenderness Time is sometimes too awkward to openly express. She is the one who introduced the musical motif the other Ellanharais also adopted when coming up with nicknames for themselves.
---
TWILIGHT + ARIA (GRAY WOLF)
Tumblr media
Twilight’s daemon is a social, cooperative, dedicated apex predator, who routinely work together to raise their young, defend their territories, and chase down their prey over vast distances; they are not overly aggressive and prefer to avoid conflict whenever they can, using body language, sent marking, and howling to diffuse tense situations and prevent costly fights between packs or individuals.
Twilight is focused, cautious, and opinionated. Aria is his easygoing, empathetic, people-pleasing side.
Aria instantly adopts most of the younger daemons in the group and dotes on them as much as they’ll allow. However, she turns into a big, besotted puppy whenever Time and Melody come into the picture and becomes adorably bashful around Malon’s pigeon daemon Rosamu. She is often found at Twilights right side, guarding his flank and watching his back while he focuses his attention on what’s in front of him. She also loves scritches and belly rubs and has nearly smothered Twilight more than once by sprawling on top of him too heavily while they sleep. While their initial transformation into Wolfie was traumatic and scarring at first, they have both grown to enjoy the occasional opportunity to truly travel, fight, and exist as one.
---
WILD + TRILL (WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE)
Tumblr media
Wild’s daemon is a loyal, resourceful, resilient species of raptor that is often found alone or in monogamous pairs, but will freely cooperate together with groups of up to 15 other eagles to take down larger prey; they are straightforward and communicative with their vocalizations and displays and also surprisingly playful, wrestling or playing food games with each other.
Trill is Wild’s dutiful, reserved, focused side, while Wild is the impulsive, playful, lackadaisical side.
Trill is rather choosy with and to whom she shows open affection. She can be very standoffish, preferring to let Wild do the talking for both of them, but once she trusts someone, she will often become very chatty and physically affectionate. It is common to see her riding around or napping on Aria's back, but she has begun opening up more to the others as well.
Because Wild lost all his memories in the Shrine of Resurrection, Trill had become unsettled when they finally woke up, taking the most basic shape a daemon can take, normally only seen with very young children: a small, floating, glowing ball of golden Dust. As they regained their memories during Wild’s quest and discovered more about themselves, Trill began taking on some of their old favored forms before eventually resettling for good as her original settled form, the wedge-tailed eagle. Despite physically being the same, though, there’s still that distance between who they are now and who they used to be, most evident in how their personalities have seemed to switch; Wild used to be more serious, focused, and responsible, and Trill used to embody the impulsivity, rowdiness, and wanderlust he kept tightly tamped down for the sake of duty and appearances. Both of them are still coming to terms with how much they have changed.
---
LEGEND + LYRIC (EUROPEAN HYLIAN RABBIT)
Tumblr media
Legend's daemon settled as a hardy, wary, sociable, territorial species of rabbit, able to survive and thrive in almost any environment; they are a keystone prey species, a vital part of almost any ecosystem they find themselves in, who must stay ever vigilant and rely on their speed, wits, and determination to stay alive.
Legend is blunt, private, and practical, while Lyric is the sensitive, sociable, sentimental side of him.
Legend has… a complicated relationship with his daemon’s form. He initially hides her away from the rest of the Chain out of paranoia and insecurity, keeping her in his pack at all times. What would Hyrule they think of the renowned Hero of Legend having a defenseless, soft little rabbit as a daemon? They would lose all respect for him, or worse, be disappointed. It isn’t until after the Twili crystal incident, and Twilight and Sky find out about Lyric’s form, that he starts to come out of his shell.
After the ice has been broken, Lyric leaps at the chance to interact with the other deamons more. She goads Aria or even Melody into games of chase, can finally properly pounce on Warriors’ daemon the next time she teases her, curls up into a little fuzzy ball with Hyrule’s daemon to nap, leaps up on Trill or Psalm or Wind’s daemon’s backs and coax them into giving her a ride, and holds Rhyme in her little paws to gloat that she finally knows a daemon smaller than her (Rhyme is not amused). She is the one who came up with the name for their group of daemons, which is a chorus, just like a group of Links is a chain.
---
HYRULE + CADENCE (YELLOW-BELLIED GLIDER)
Tumblr media
Hyrule’s daemon is a small, nocturnal glider species that is selectively social, close-bonding, and expressive, utilizing a number of chirps, whirrs, whistles, and growls to keep away intruders and keep tabs on each other; yellow-bellied gliders are incredibly active, hard-working creatures, spending up to 90% of their time awake foraging, and they can travel up to 2 kilometers in just 4 hours through a combination of climbing and gliding.
Hyrule is independent, wary, and agreeable. Cadence represents his dependent, connected, feisty side.
Cadence is generally quite a skittish daemon, who can normally be found clinging wide-eyed to Hyrule’s back, shoulders, chest, or arms, or hidden inside his tunic or pack. She has not interacted closely with many other daemons in her time (fairies do not have daemons), so she is still getting used to the physical affection the others offer. She does not dislike it; it is simply a lot. But she is gradually learning to love being nuzzled, cuddled, and carried, and she greatly enjoys riding around on the other larger daemons.
---
WIND + SHANTY (MILITARY MACAW)
Tumblr media
Wind settled just a couple months before the events of Linked Universe as a resourceful, gregarious, deeply loyal species of macaw; like all macaws, they can be quite loud, communicative, and expressive, and they have generally been described as having friendly, confident, playful dispositions, albeit with the occasional temperamental mood swing.
Shanty is Wind's meticulous, perceptive, down-to-earth side, while Wind is reckless, curious, and carefree.
As is befitting for a parrot daemon, Shanty spends much of her time perched on Wind’s shoulders or arms, though she does love being held and cuddled, too. She is still getting used to her settled form, and sometimes forgets she cannot shift like she once did, leading to some hilarious mishaps when she faceplanted on the ground trying to turn into a hermit crab, or one memorable instance where she nearly drowned while trying to become a yellowtail snapper. She gets very starry-eyed over the other demons and thinks all of them are the coolest for different reasons. She desperately wants to impress them and prove she’s just as badass as they are, so she can sometimes chafe under their well-meaning coddling.
---
WARRIORS + BALLAD (RED FOX)
Tumblr media
Warriors’ daemon settled as the confident, dependable, independent red fox, the most widespread and successful carnivore in the world, found in just about every available habitat, from jungle to tundra; despite being mainly solitary, these animals have a complex social hierarchy and can be seen in a wide variety of group settings, with vixens sometimes coming together during the breeding season to help raise each other’s cubs, and their mates bringing them food and also helping parent the new cubs.
Warriors is shrewd, charming, and diplomatic, while Ballad is more brash, cheeky, and candid.
Ballad, while generally friendly and warm with the other daemons (especially the younger ones), is also strangely skittish around them. She is fine initiating touch or curling up for a nice nap around or with someone else, but if touched unexpectedly, she tends to either bristle, growl, and retreat behind Warriors, or go very still and quiet. She shies away from any human hands except Warriors' (and even then there are days he doesn't touch her directly). They bring to mind other hands. Slim, small, elegant, painted hands that hurt, that took, that tainted- ...It’s fine. She’s fine. They’re fine. Everything’s fine.

Extinction Wars Trilogy Theory
Tumblr media
The WBK series is probably going to end with graduation, which means we have two more semesters left and possibly two more Extinction Wars. In this analysis we are going to determine what they might end up being about.
BIG SPOILERS for the Wind Breaker Manga. All photos used are from windbreaker, ads or stock.
PART 1: Defining the elements
So let's start off with what we know. The first Extinction War is based around Fire. Takiishi’s war is fireworks and summertime themed. Even down to names 焚石 (Takiishi) and 棪堂 (Endo) both contain radicals for “fire” and “tree”
Takiishi and Endo don’t just represent “fire” they represent “fire burning trees” or “fire as a threat to trees” If we assume there will be three semesters ending in graduation. Then it’s not too far off to assume we’ll have three extinction wars. So if there are three wars for each semester and the summer one is based on the “fire” element. What will the next two be?
Well, answering that depends on whether Nii-sensei goes with the Buddhist Elements or the Chinese Elements, but it won’t make much of a difference for reasons we’re about to cover.
(DISCLAIMER: I am not an expert on these religious topics at all. I’m just using general knowledge found on the internet to make predictions about a funny delinquent anime.)
It just so happens that Bofurin is based around the Buddhist Heavenly Kings. So let’s start there. In Buddhism there are four Mahābhūta or “Great Elements”:
Tumblr media
There’s five/six if you count Akasha (Space) and Vijñāna (Mind) but those are special, so we’ll sideline them for now.
Let’s assume
Bofurin itself is Vayu (Wind). (Obviously.)  Noroshi is Agni (Fire). (We just went over that.)
So that means the next two big wars will be:
Prithvi (earth) Ap (water)
But what if there’s a more literal connection between Summer and fire. Then we’d have to look at the element of the Chinese Zodiac or “Wu Xing”. In the chinese system there five different elements:
Tumblr media
Wood / Spring Fire / Summer Earth / Late Summer (or in-between seasons) Metal / Autumn Water / Winter
Let’s assume:
Bofurin is Wood / Spring  Noroshi is Fire / Summer
That means if we go by the Chinese Elements instead it could be:
Earth/Late Summer Metal/Autumn Water/Winter
To put it simply, the Chinese Elements have a specific order to them where they create the next one in the cycle, and overcome the one after that. In this system the enemy of Wood is Metal (Blades) so Metal is more likely than Earth, especially since it's associated with Autumn more directly. But even if they go by the Buddhist elements, Metal is considered a form of Earth.
So whether it’s Buddhist Great Elements, Chinese Wu Xing, or even Japanese Godai (which mirrors the Buddhist Elements) We’re looking at:
Tumblr media
Summer Extinction War based on Fire Autumn Extinction War based on Earth (Metal/Blades) Winter Extinction War based on Water (Ice/Blizzards)
Now, you may be wondering why I’m so hyper-focused on Metal and Ice specifically, instead of the broader Earth and Water elements. That's because Metal and Ice are natural enemies of plants and trees. Let’s go back to Takiishi’s name or “Fire as a threat to trees”. It makes you wonder: What are the other enemies of trees? According to Chinese Elements, it's Metal.
PART 2: The Metal War
Predicting the theme of the next war in Autumn is FAR HARDER to predict than the last one (which will almost certainly be about Winter itself) but we can make a few guesses.
-Sickles of Extinction -Scythes of Extinction  -Axes of Extinction
Sickles of Extinction / Titanium Theory:
Oh, did I mention we already have metal themed gangs fighting Shishitoren called Zinc and Cobalt.
Tumblr media
Yes, that’s right! Zinc, the weakest gang in the series is the key to figuring out everything. But not Zinc itself but rather whoever is controlling these petty metal gangs. It’s possible that these gangs are like tiny states in a greater Union.
But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. Let’s take a look at Zinc and Cobalt’s culture. Zinc seems to come from an industrial part of town that has a redbrick and brownish theme.
Tumblr media
Zinc itself has copper and black colored jerseys and its base is a run down industrial warehouse or hanger of some sort.
Then there’s Cobalt. It appears to be a skater themed gang with jaggy shirts and jeans. Most of them are seen wearing work caps. But some wear beanies or have lost their hats.
Tumblr media
The background looks industrial, you can spot a few smoke stacks.
Tumblr media
All in all, having the two ore-themed factions come from a mine-themed area is not all that surprising is it? But how is that relevant to Shishitoren, who continuously has to fight them? Shishitoren is about meritocracy. Devotion to strength. It’s about striving to be the best. What is the opposite of individual strength and meritocracy?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
LET ME BE CLEAR. Wind Breaker is NOT and overtly political show and any symbolism like this will likely be downplayed. Nevertheless, it bears mentioning. There is a VERY long history of mining communities taking collective action across all cultures. Represented by a harvesting sickle. So let's assume all these petty gangs form a collective or pay vassalage to a bigger gang. Lets call it “Titanium”. It is only reasonable to assume they’d have a polar opposite ideology to Shishitoren. One based around equity. I don’t think it's going to get overtly political, it’ll be subtle like when we want over similar themes in the Gravel arc.
But this is just one of MANY ideas. For all we know, "Titanium" could just be a smaller player in a bigger story arc.
Scythes of Extinction / Reaper Triad Theory:
Tumblr media
Scythes are the bringers of all harvests. And you don't get much more threatening than scythes. Symbols of death itself. If there was ever a way to hype a powerful evil yakuza gang as a threat it’d be giving them reaper tattoos.
Tumblr media
Again, scythes are the natural enemies of all plants. Its the reason Metal overcomes Wood in the Chinese elements. But a scythe can’t take down a whole tree. No, there’s only one tool known for that.
Axes of Extinction / Ax-to-Grind Theory:
Axes are the iconic enemy of trees and a symbol of vengeance.
Tumblr media
Here are just a few adages about revenge:
“Ax to grind.”  “Bury the hatchet.”  “The ax forgets, but the tree remembers.” “An eye for an eye leaves the world blind.”
Let’s say hypothetically, there was a character who had issues with vengeance and anger. If this character ended up having a big storyline, maybe it’ll be about axes made from metal.
Also axes are historically held by raiders. If anyone is going to be raiding Makochi, it’d be a horde of barbarians with axes.
PART 3: The Winter War
Blizzards of Extinction / Winter War Theory:
Tumblr media
During the Endo fight we get an interesting comparison. Endo compares Sakura to a branch. He states that freezing the branch paradoxically makes it more brittle and easier to break.
Tumblr media
I think this is foreshadowing by Nii-sensei that the greatest enemy of all plant-life is WINTER. It’s what makes all plants die every year. When you pair this together with how WBK will end in the third semester, it almost makes it inevitable the final faction will have a winter theme. Even if I’m wrong and there are no other extinction wars, I still think this will be the case.
Conclusion
Take a step back. The manga is called WIND Breaker. The first big enemy was about FIRE. It's actually not that complex. The next wars will be Earth and Water themed, or more specifically:
We're gonna get a Metal war and a Winter war.
Probably. The "Metal War" might involve Shishitoren at the end of autumn. And the "Winter War" will be the series finale, right before graduation and the new Bofurin Leader is chosen.
I tried to be purposely vague with this theory because I wanted to stick closer to the facts and what we actually know. For example, I could see Umemiya’s rooftop savior being involved in the Winter War. But I can see a lot of things. And there’s also a chance I could be totally off base and there’s no ordained structure to the wars at all. And that’s okay too. But I do think the name “Extinction War” is oddly specific. Almost like it's part of a set…

The two towers (prophecies) of ASOIAF, with a consideration about arbitrary prophecy interpretations
From a smoking tower, a great stone beast took wing, breathing shadow fire. . . . mother of dragons, slayer of lies
This is the third of the HOTU "slayer of lies" prophecies, and the least clear one. Often, people think it refers to the stone dragons Melisandre wants to awake, Jon Snow's parentage or Jon Connington's greyscale.
Here's the problem with interpreting the smokeless Tower of Joy, the volcano Dragonstone or the castles Winterfell or Griffin's Roost as a "smoking tower": If Daenerys is seeing a non-smoking tower as smoking, or calling a castle a tower, how can we trust any of her narration? If a castle is a tower, then is the sword actually a torch? The crowd just one person? How can anyone discern a meaning in something this ambiguous? This wouldn't be a prophecy anymore, but meaningless drivel. Especially since the first "lie" - Stannis as Azor Ahai - is discussed as such in-story by Jon Snow, Maester Aemon and Melisandre, and is actually quite straightforward, making it improbable that the "smoking tower" is a castle or a mountain. (There are additional problems with these interpretations)
Euron Greyjoy is an oft-cited candidate, and he actually fits most requirements. As we see from the Aeron TWOW chapter and Samwell's last AFFC chapter (the sigil on the sunken ship is Euron's), he is preparing to attack Oldtown, which features a prominent tower with a beacon fire (AFFC prologue), the Hightower. Also, in AFFC Euron says that as a boy he dreamed he could fly (c.f Bran's coma-dreams) and that "Perhaps we can fly. All of us. How will we ever know unless we leap from some tall tower?" - perhaps he leaps/takes wing from the Hightower? Aeron TWOW has visions in which Euron is "no longer human" and wearing something called "scale armour" - stone beast. And he is seeking Daenerys('s dragons) so he has a connection to her. The "breathing shadow fire" part however is problematic; Shade of the Evening isn't a smoke and the Horn of Joramun "waking giants from the earth" according to TWOIAF refers to earthquakes not any kind of fire. Dust clouds from collapsing buildings as "shadow fire" is far-fetched.
Then the towers by the sea, crumbling as the dark tide came sweeping over them, rising from the depths.
"If it comes, that attack will be no more than a diversion. I saw towers by the sea, submerged beneath a black and bloody tide. That is where the heaviest blow will fall."
"Eastwatch?"
Was it? Melisandre had seen Eastwatch-by-the-Sea with King Stannis. That was where His Grace left Queen Selyse and their daughter Shireen when he assembled his knights for the march to Castle Black. The towers in her fire had been different, but that was oft the way with visions. "Yes. Eastwatch, my lord."
This is from Melisandre's POV chapter. Most interpretations of this vision disagree with her that the "towers by the sea" is Eastwatch, given her habit of confusing similar-looking things - e.g Alys Karstark for Arya, Renly's armour for Renly. Moreover, the black and bloody tide is associated with prophecies and visions involving the Ironborn - Moqorro sees an one-eyed kraken (Euron Greyjoy) on a sea of blood, Aeron sees Ironborn ships burning on a boiling blood-red sea and Jojen Reed's green dreams of Winterfell being submerged by a tide. That has nothing to do with the Wall.
So, many people read this vision as referring to Euron and his aforementioned attack on Oldtown. Euron has moved on from the Iron Islands, so Pyke and Ten Towers aren't plausible candidates. Nothing places Ironborn currently at Harrenhal, never mind that numerous characters refer to its towers having a characteristic melted appearance that Melisandre presumably would have remarked upon. The Shields and Oldtown itself aren't a collection of towers, it's the same problem as "smoking tower" meaning castle or non-smoking tower.
That leaves two possible identities for the "towers by the sea":
The Citadel, which the AFFC prologue says has multiple towers. They are however "upriver", not on the sea, and have domes too.
Three Towers, the castle south of Oldtown on the Whispering Sound that also faces the Arbor and is mentioned in Samwell's AFFC chapters. According to Aeron TWOW, Euron is setting sail from an island close to the Arbor and preparing for battle against the Redwyne and Oldtown navies, so the fleets will likely meet close to Three Towers.
One thing not often remarked upon is that it's not "Then some towers by the sea". It's "Then the towers by the sea". To me, it sounds like Melisandre has seen this vision before, explaining why she speaks of a bloody sea even though the vision we see doesn't mention blood. I actually think Melisandre is right when she says that it's where the heaviest blow will fall - the vision appeared multiple times because the "towers by the sea" are A Big Deal. Whatever Euron or whoever is intending there will have huge reverberations.
