#the silmarillion #fingolfin #silmarillion art #silm #this one sure was a ride but i really wanted to get it done bc i couldn't get this fic out of my head #started almost three weeks ago i think but was never happy with the sketch #and then i suddenly set it into my head that i HAD TO switch drawing programs #which i've never really done i've been using SAI for over 6 years #well now i'm on krita #that was... a rough transition i really gotta say #took hours just to get my workspace into any kind of shape i could work with #then the keybinds of course #SO MANY problems with my pen and windows ink and whatnot #and then the fucking brush settings. that was. a nightmare #basically i had to entirely relearn how to color shit #which is also why this looks so different from everything i've ever done (at least color wise)#and bc krita is just Like That the file size is at 1.6GB lmao #but i'm done it's done #and i'm actually pretty happy with it #silmarillion #thedeckdraws

My friend, may I open up to you the broad world of clicking an AO3 user's bookmarks. <3

AKA: literally click any ao3 username, "bookmarks" should appear towards the top of the resulting page. You can then voyage into the additionally wonderful waters of filtering by length, "recommended", fandom, etc.

Also: if the fic you like is in collections, try checking them out, especially if the title appeals to you. Can be a great way to find essentially a fic playlist.

Friends. Mutuals. Followers. Internet strangers. Back up your data every so often. at the very least back up the drive your OS is on because theres not much more stressful than sitting down at your computer after work one day to find out that your computer straight up can't read anything from your boot drive anymore

#spitblaze says things #and if this happens. at least with windows. your drive MIGHT have mysteriously reformatted itself from NTFS or FAT32 to RAW.#theres some data recovery that can be done. dmde is a fantastic program. but dont get your hopes up about it going back to normal #you can reformat it just fine but otherwise............#if anything ESSENTIAL is on there you're better off consulting a professional #but especially if you just want a list of the stuff you need to replace dmde will probably do the job #and back up your data. get an external. store stuff somewhere in a secure cloud.#hell. put your long-term projects on git. even if its only you working on them #just like. save yourself the time and frustration should the worst come to pass
