SM Skating knows this all too well, as it has never let our being a tropical country become a hindrance to harboring big dreams of participating and excelling in sports events associated with the Winter Olympics.

Whether it’s Figure Skating, Speed Skating, or Ice Hockey; SM Skating has put forward the value proposition that the ice rinks that exist in particular SM malls can be more than just recreational or leisure pursuits.

Our Philippines Men’s National Ice Hockey team recently garnered Gold in Division IV of the 2023 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Ice Hockey Championship. That’s quite a feat for a tropical nation in a team sport competition.

Winter is here! What‘s better than winter sports disciplines? Kids my age might remember the 1984 14th Winter Olympics. That event made me a bob sled fan including a PLAYMOBIL play set. I also remember the horrible Sarajevo shout out with that stupid dog on telly. There‘s been better, such as the Kornelije Kovač Report from Sarajevo. I had no idea this existed until again the notorious folks from @fox.and.his.friends brought the tracks back to light last year. One of my favorite rereleases 2024! I still have the Sarajevo games in my heart, though the whole country went into a senseless catastrophe a few years later.

On the second day of our trip to Lake Placid, we hiked to the summit of Mt. Van Hoevenberg where many of the Winter Olympic competitions took place, including bobsledding. At the base of the mountain, we even got tickets for the cliffside coaster that allowed us to learn more about the Olympic games held there in 1932 and 1980 while we went through all the twists and turns of the bobsled track

The Guinness Men's Six Nations makes historic change to the 2026 schedule 🏉

Next year’s Six Nations will kick off on Thursday night for the first time in the competition’s history, with the defending champions, France 🇫🇷 hosting Ireland 🇮🇪 and will take place across just six weeks after organisers removed one of fallow weeks for the championship 🏆

It is understood the unprecedented move to begin the championship on Thursday 5 February next year has been made after input from broadcasters, with the 2026 Winter Olympics ❄️ ceremony taking place in Milan the following day.
