I lost access to my Canva account so I've started up a new one and am now working on recreating all of my book covers from scratch 🥲 HOWEVER this has been a blessing in disguise in that I've been finding some shiny new graphics to mess around with. And while I wasn't planning to update the current cover for Agent Ace (the original feels like a classic at this point), I made a new one that's pretty bangin'!

But before I make any big changes, I wanted to send out a poll! I love all of these covers (in essence they're all very similar), but I'm interested to know which one stands out more to readers.

Helix, eyes rolled towards the off-white ceiling of the medbay as if praying for patience, repeats, "I said, unless you've been having some exceptionally weird sex I don't know about, you've got a prostate tumour." "Weird sex," Cody parrots, his mind helpfully replaying the most debauched trysts he'd had with his General in the past few months. 

The fandom’s usual take for Stewjon is that it’s a hybrid of space!Scotland-Japan and its people are dualsex (even though it’s more often wrongly tagged intersex, which is not the same thing). Not here. Here, stewjoni are half-octopi. They aren’t(?) were-octopi, but half-octopi. Read to find out how. I promise it works. Don’t be frightened by the tags.

What I really liked (other than this little pearl of worldbuilding), is the change to the usual mpreg trope. It’s not Obi-Wan, it’s Cody who carries. It’s not a secret, the main parties involved know about it straight away. Cody is not having A Crisis, the idea makes him happy. Just very refreshing all around.

Medical practices done right. “Normal” pregnancy happening off-screen for a value of normal. “Normal” birth. Started as crack taken seriously then somehow veers sharply off course toward the last part as it becomes bittersweet and happy and joyful and philosophical. Reflection on attachment, the circle of life and all that. Future unknown but ends on a positive note. Loved it.

There were two figures standing at the foot of General Kenobi's statue with their backs to Wooley, an adult with a hood, and a child with light hair. The child was pointing at a puddle of Temple tookas who were curled up in General Kenobi’s lap, lounging in the stone folds of his robes, the bend of his knee. Wooley: belay that. Child nuisance.

Clones overthrow the Empire and then… Well.

New Republic and all that.  Sure. They are free, which is nothing to scoff at. But the Senate still voted for the end of the Republic and the jedi are still dead. Aren’t they?

The end… My heart, oh, my heart. Prepare handkerchiefs. By the buckload.

And Cody thinks a part of him has spent the long years since, too, on his knees – in grief, in penance, in duty, in love, and in his memory. But Obi-Wan is alive.

WIP, just once chapter, but what a chapter.

Between hallucinations and dreams, a real communication through the stars with the ghost of his former general or what the spirit of Cody, the purge soldier, concocted to protect himself, a poem, a delirium, a mea cupla screamed at the stars, a fantasy dreamed by a soldier eaten away by the horrors committed by his hands, the State he represents and the atrocities we undertake by ourselves, reality or imagination, metaphor of guilt and forgiveness or real and visceral torture.

PT-2224 made a mistake. Vader makes him pay. Cody is there and not there at the same time. An escape and a voluntary march of his executioner's body towards the final destination.

Incredible. Fantastic. A trip like no other.

Primary functions are supposed to be useful: survive against all odds; shield one’s battalion; fight until the very last breath. Cody would prefer anything besides the bleeding heart he’s been dealt. Or: the General makes plans. Cody follows.

(...)” “You could lose us the war.” “Or we could win it,” Obi-Wan pointed out, “and win it by deserving to, rather than by giving in to that which this order stands against.” Adi’s proposal to offer the senate a bald refusal passed unanimously.

I really liked this one and it’s partly because the codywan is not necessarily romantic. It’s not tagged as such and the connection only happens at the end so I think it’s up to the reader whether they imagine it happening later on or not. It wasn’t necessary for me. 

Cody and Obi-Wan connected on the level of their souls. Nothing, not even romance, can be more meaningful than that.

It was heart wrenching at times and it made me reflect a lot. Not everyone get their happy ending. It’s also a great new take on the soulmate trope and what The Sign is (colorblind vs colored vision, tattooed first/last words, dream/pain/sexual fantasy sharing, ect. And now, A True Smile!!! Because you smile with your eyes, which are the window to the soul. Get it?)

Turn it on to a new kind of bright by rolo_rulu, Saerus2665 (41K)

Someone rolls him over onto his back. “Hnnngh…” Ben blinks his eyes open. There’s a man looking down at him, haloed in the bright light of the sun. (...) “Are—are you an angel?” Ben finds himself saying. He doesn't know if it's the heat or his poor instinctive attempt at flirting that makes him say it. The man squints at him, brow furrowing, clearly caught off guard. “Uh—are you a banana?” OR: The one in which Cody is a hot surfer and Ben’s a biologist who just so happens to be filling in for his brother at his summer job at a perfectly normal, definitely not shady, beachside banana-stand.

Some levity in this recc list!!!! There is no great plot with the Fate of the Universe at stake. This is one of these delightful type of fic that are just… fanfic-y. I don’t know how else to describe it XD

The premise is crackish. The execution is hilarious. The author and artist who work on this (check their accounts out!) were obviously having a hell of a time on this LSD trip together. It also has its sweet moments, its aching moments, moments serious or sad.

Fox is there and amazing. Vos too, stealthily. Obi-Wan is A Nerd and so loveable for it. Cody is so freaking cool. The story keeps throwing you off and making you laugh. The art blows. Uncomplicated and yet rich and varied. Have a grand old time, without becoming anxious about the Meaning of Life Itself.

Just… a cute, funny love story. Happening in a Modern Setting. This is the king of stuff I’m on ao3 for. Gold stars.

Six Months In A Leaky Boat by passeridae (47K)

The year is 1998. Australia is fucked to hell and back, but its neighbour New Zealand is doing surprisingly alright. Well, if it wasn't for the supply shortages, persistent earthquakes, and the government's increasing heavy handed attempts at censorship. Cody, a presenter at Radio Hauraki, is particularly pissed about that last thing. And he knows just what to do about it, too — all they need is a boat. Radio Hauraki started life as pirate radio back in the sixties, what's stopping them from going back on the waves? Also, if his coworker, Obi-Wan, could stop making his life a living hell that'd be great, but Cody is pretty sure the world will end for real before that happens.

Modern Dystopia happening in a 90’s Alternative Universe. Activism. Civil disobedience. The author must be from NZ itself because how else would they have so much knowledge about the slang, the culture, the places? Historical accuracy used like a punch to punctuate the story’s point. Fail gay men. Gay love.

I love the idea of a couple uniting while they are constructing something. This story, though, is less about the boat itself, but the journey they take toward that point. It’s mostly from Cody’s POV while the world, society and democracy is slowly imploding around him. 

At first, he tries to obey the law because he doesn’t want to suffer from discrimination. But as the story goes on, he just can’t follow it anymore because to do so would be to let people die when he could have helped save them. And so he fights.

Various characters take this journey too, along-side him, in the background.

In an extremely vivid New-Zealand setting, with an original format (written, audio, pictures, links to songs…), a story all the more impactful by what we’re currently all living through, two men falling in love and many people rallying for Fairness and Justice.

Amazing.

There, peeking out from between the grasses, was the glittering and unmistakable head of a grass snake. Cody blinked. Twice. “I – “ he began, and realized he didn’t quite know what to say. “Forgive me, are you – the grass snake, there?” The grass snake’s head twitched – as if reacting to his voice. He saw a flash of its forked tongue, and – “That would be me, yes.”

Between fairytale, folks tale Shakespearean-flavored, and TCW medieval AU. Obi-Wan is not a were-snake or cursed or about to give Cody an apple. He’s just… a snake. And not. I cannot explain too much away without spoiling the story but it was great.

No big, galactic stakes. Just Cody living in a village with his many, many brothers and meeting a snake. That’s it.

Done so well I kept thinking about it for weeks afterwards. Lovely.

A moment of silence, and the voice relented.

“Come to me,” it whispered, and he wanted nothing more. “Come to me, darling, and I will do my best.”

That author decided to slay their readers without mercy and I am here for it. Willing head on the chopping block. Chopchopchop.

2224 is starting to reach the end of his shelf life. Amidst a fevered dream (or a vision?), he embarks on a final mission. That he fails, of course, just like he failed at dying.

Past the reunion of two battered traumatized men, between a journey toward self-forgiveness and the acceptance of the horror of their past and present, a healing of the minds, while Cody’s body is hurling toward death.

Happy ending, of course. I couldn’t stand it otherwise. But boy, there was a knot in my throat the whole while. And that passage where Obi-Wan [insert spolier]... I had to stop to straight up cry.

They saw her around Mos Eisley, sometimes, lingering by the repair shop where her father worked or sitting atop the crates strewn about the street. She had strange eyes - aged and watchful and inquisitive, even more so perhaps than the other children around her, although all of them had grown up too early all the same. (...) There was something important that Reva Sevander had learned throughout the last hours she spent in what once had been a safe haven, lying atop her murdered clanmates and trying not to make a sound as the stench of their deaths grew more and more oppressive - nothing, least of all tomorrow, was ensured.

I have recc-ed this author and I will recc them again! This one is a WIP and it is announced codywan, which is why I gave myself permission to cheat by putting it there since where it stopped, it hasn’t happened yet. But, if it ever becomes finished, I know it will be as brilliant as the rest. 

For someone who had many, many, many, many critics about the Kenobi Show, how they created the character of Reva (who, by all right, should have been awesome) and that hasn’t found a fic where I was able to enjoy her, I was absolutely bowled over by how much it made me root for her.

Yoda and Obi-Wan go to the Temple, before they decide to split to fight Sidious and Anakin respectively. They find Reva. They pick her up. And then, of course, someone has to take her with them when they decide to hide. Spoiler alert: it’s not Yoda.

It’s told from the POV of Reva and Obi-Wan broke my heart as well as made me want to shake him until his teeth rattle. I would be hard pressed to find a child in a fanfic described and characterized so authentically. Obi-Wan goes straight on the Depression Train, like in the show, but he can’t just lie down and let himself starve and stew in his nightmares, because there’s a child who depends on him. Two jedi in a post-jedi world. One who should be starting their journey, but didn’t, and one who should be passing the flame to the next generation, but can’t. Jfc.

The End!

That’s it folks.

When I received the ask for a codywan recc list, I was in a waning enthusiasm period for codywan fics (not the ship itself!).

Because I’m very picky and I have dozens upon dozens of criterias for codywan “fics I loved so much I bookmark them and recommend them to everyone”. I could read literally all week sometimes and not find one fic that meet all these (very subjective and personal, mind you!) criterias.

It’s not ungratefulness for people writing fics (are you kidding?), it’s a matter of taste. Without new canon being produced, fandom/ship tend to stagnate a bit in terms of narrative after a while. It happens to literally every fandom I have been a part of and is no critic of anyone or anything. That’s just the nature of things.

But, well. Then, the number of fics that scratch all my itches and that I haven’t read yet start to get smaller and smaller until, to find new gems, I have to plow through hundreds of fics first.

But I considered it a challenge to myself and my habits and accepted it gladly! To shake things up and find actual new stuff, I put the restriction on myself to look only for fics last updated between 2023 and 2024.

Because I already made a recc list in 2022 and I wanted to give what I hadn’t seen yet a chance.

As you can see, some truly amazing stuff came out of this! If with this list I manage to make you discover new fics, I will consider it worth it!

At the time I am writing this, there’s still plenty of fics downloaded and waiting to be read on my e-reader. But we’re reaching the end of the year so I’m stopping it there so that people can enjoy the fics over the holidays.

If I find new things, I will edit it ;) As always, suggestions are always welcome too!

Twisted Wonderland RoleSwap AU_Master List (WIP)

I’m playing around with something called a TWST RoleSwap AU where characters switch lives with another.

For example:

If Grim and Lilia switch roles then Grim will be the wise eccentric mentor figure raising several cubs. And meanwhile, Lilia will be the gremlin who works as half a student with whoever fills Yuu’s role.

Backgrounds will be altered to accommodate characters.

Say Malleus; if he takes the role of Yuu then there will be an addition to his backstory where he was sent to earth. The basics will remain the same. Like how in Riddle’s story he has a toxic mother. Or how Vil’s has him being an actor who seems stuck in villain roles and in second place to Neige. The main change is how each character reacts to it based on their personality.

When all the roles are switched I plan to twist them all into a story. (Eventually...)

For now, let’s lay some groundwork. Due to the limited options in the polls, I won’t be able to list every character. So, please either tag or comment if the character you would like to see is not listed. I will count them the best I can.

Yuu's Role: Najma

Najma is a cunning young woman who suddenly finds herself in the mysterious Twisted Wonderland. To stay at the magical Night Raven College she pretends not only to be a mage, but a boy as well. Thankfully half the students are more feminine than her.

While at the school she discovers many strange mysteries of Twisted Wonderland’s past as well as her own involvement with the world.

Grim's Role: Yuu

Yuu is a mysterious figure Najma meets the moment she awakens in Twisted Wonderland. Though there’s trouble during their first meeting, Najma and Yuu are forced to work together in order to stay at NC. But what mysteries does this strange being carry?

(Note: The Shrimp is only used to represent “Yuu.” As of now there are no plans to make them a sentient shrimp.)

Ramshackle Ghosts' Role: Skully J. Graves

A ghost at Ramshackle who quickly becomes attached to Najma due to his years of loneliness. (Maybe overly so.) He has a very firm idea of how things should be and doesn't like to deviate from this mindset. Despite this, he is very gentlemanly and courteous.

Housewardens;

Malleus Draconia Role: Leona Kingscholar

Descended from a powerful magical creature and one of the most famed families in wonderland, Leona is one of the most powerful mages in the world. This immense magical ability often contrasts with his lazy demeanor. He tends to treats others with an imperious attitude.

Leona Kingscholar Role: Malleus Draconia

The second-born prince in his homeland, Malleus is highly respected on campus and extremely talented in skill, rightfully earning his role as the Savanaclaw Housewarden. Yet his frightful demeanor often deters classmates and leaves him by his lonesome.

Riddle Rosehearts Role: Ace Trappola

The Heartslabyul house-warden with an upbeat personality and a mischievous streak. Even though the house is famed for it’s strict adherence to the rules, Ace seem to have a blatant disregard for them. Often it’s as if he is an agent of chaos warring on “order” itself.

Idia Shroud Role: Ortho Shroud

Upbeat, forthright, and brimming with curiosity, Ortho is caring and attentive housewarden to everyone in Ignihyde. But despite his cheer there appears to be a dark secret behind those bright yellow eyes. His family is also rumored to have connections to the mysterious phantoms that no one seems to want to talk about.

Vil Schoenheit Role: Epel Felmier

A famous actor and the Housewarden of Pomefiore. He is beloved for his dainty appearance with an ephemeral beauty, putting on pare with another actor. His looks often has him typecast to certain role and underestimated by the people around him. However, those who challenge him often come to regret this.

Kalim Al' Asim Role: Ruggie Bucchi

Despite being the heir to a rich and powerful family, Ruggie is someone always looking to make even more money through deals and schemes. In his words, “money makes the world go round, so let’s give it a spin!” He always tends to be behind the scenes of things, as if puppeting events.

Azul Ashengrotto Role: Kalim Al' Asim

Kalim is a kind soul who is always willing to benevolently help others. His generosity makes him an odd choice a house warden who are known for their calculating ways. It’s rumored that his merciful dispossession is just a sham as deals with him tend to never turn out the way they should.

Vice-Housewardens;

Trey Clover's Role; Deuce Spade

The brash and violent Vice Warden of Heartslabyul. He and Ace have known each other since childhood and are partners in chaos. He can be slow on the uptake, and his grades suffer as a result. (Note: He and Riddle tied, so I flipped a coin. [No, really.])

Ruggie Bucchi's Role; Jack Howl

Raising in a poor environment, Jack is always working and looking for opportunities to create a better life for himself. Often, this makes him too busy to hang out and make friends, making him an outcast within his dorm. He greatly admires Malleus for his leadership skills and strength.

Jade Leech's Role; Rook Hunt

Rook appears to be a kind, eccentric sort who is more than willing to lend a hand to those in need. Despite this, he seems to be one of the most feared individuals on campus and there always seems to be a playful gleam in his eye.

Jamil Viper; Azul Ashengrotto

Ruggie’s vice-warden and personal assistant, who always seems to be standing behind them. He and Ruggie have been together since childhood and appear to be quite close. However, there’s seems to be something other than cheer between those forced smiles and there always a plan waiting to unfold behind Azul’s gaze.

Rook Hunt; Jade Leech

Vice-warden of Pomefiore and Epel’s personal assistant. He is soft-spoken and courteous to everyone he deals with, the exception being his look-a-like Floyd with whom he has a sharper yet playful smile for.

Ortho Shroud; Idia Shroud

Ortho’s gloomy companion who shies away from socialization. He is so introverted that his body rarely—if ever--leaves Ortho’s dorm room. Instead, he will accompany Ortho through his tablet and create holograms when he needs to take form. He spends nearly all his time gaming online, or watching his favorite music bands.

Lilia Vanrouge; Silver

Leona’s vice-warden and overseer. He has a cool and collected persona and is so low-key that his calm demeanor often crosses over into a state of visible drowsiness. Some believe he passed this onto the Prince.

Other Students;

Ace Trappola Role; Riddle Rosehearts

A Heartslabyul first-year student who finds himself getting more and more annoyed with the chaos of his dorm that’s supposed to represent the strictness of the Queen.

Deuce Spade Role; Floyd Leech

An erratic first year whose mood swings make him fit in perfectly with the chaos of the dorm. That said, he doesn’t seem particularly happy about this fact. He is ofteen seen hovering around Ruddle.

Cater Diamond Role; Vil Schoenheit

A young man of striking beauty, he considers himself the fairest of all. He is big on social media and has many followers. He is one of the few voices of reason within Heartslabyul who isn’t afraid to stand up to the manic house wardens.

Jack Howl Role; Sebek Zigvolt

A LOUD live-wire student. In his zealous to impress Malleus, whom he admires, often expends a great deal of energy to accomplish very little. His brash nature tends to put him at odds with those around him. That said, he is one of the top students in his grade, often competing with Riddle.

Floyd Leech Role; Cater Diamond

One of Kalim’s assistants and one of his best friends. He knows his way around just about any social situation and a wizard with words, which comes in handy when dealing with Kalim’s clients. Despite his easy-going nature he seems to be the only one with his head not in the clouds.

Epel Felmier Role; Trey Clover

Trey is a humble first-year who constantly finds himself out of his comfort zone after Jade and Epel decide to take him under their wing. Though why they did so, even he has no idea. People often worry Jade is rubbing off on him.

Silver Role; Lilia & Grim

Lilia is Leona’s playful guard who often sneak up on unsuspecting students. Despite his easy-going nature, he takes his role as guard very seriously, though he seems more loyal to Silver than Leona. Despite being a fae he has no magic and thus had to enroll as one student with Grim.

Grim meanwhile, is a dire beast who often proclaims that he will one day surpass Leona as the greatest magician. He will eat anything and everything, and his tendency to get carried away often gets him and Lilia into trouble Jamil has to smooth over.

Sebek Zigvolt Role; Jamil Viper

Leona’s cunning and talented retainer. He is the most talented student of his year and isn’t shy about showing this. Though most his talent used to wrangle his fellow dorm members under control.

For reasons unknown, he seems interested in Najma.

NRC Staff;

Dire Crowley’s Role; Maleanor Draconia

Malleus’ Mother and the Princess Consort of the King of Briar Valley. Due to events of the past she is bias against non-fae, which leads to many to wonder why she became the headmistress of a school that is predominately humans and beastmen. Everyone fears her for her temper.

Crewel’s Role; Sam

A professor at Night Raven College who teaches the school's science curriculum, including potionology. Sam is friendly and charismatic, often calling his students by nicknames like "little imps".

Trien’s Role; Rollo Flamme

A stern old teacher who teaches the school's social studies curriculum, including the history of magic. He is a widely feared professor who is strict with students both in and out of class. He seems to detest his job and magic as a whole.

Vargas’ Role; Baul Zigvolt

Sebek’s stern grandfather. Despite always snapping at everyone like a croc, he is the most caring towards the students and the most protective (particularly his grandson, Sebek). He would rather die than admit this, however. Sebek often brags how he used to be a high ranking general.

Sam’s Role; Ernesto Foulsworth

A trickster who runs the school shop with his brother Gidel selling several odd trinkets he “picked up.” Despite always smiling and acting friendly enough, there always seems to be a tone of resentment behind his words. He often talks about his “friends.”

Posting my old Sonic art Part 1

Anyway lets start this off with the AU that I still haven't finished! (I might finish it later but we'll see)(Ya'll get to see the deformed squids that used to be how I drew hands lmao...)

Unfortunately I never finished Rouge's bio thingy, but now that like, ya know, I'm hyperfixating again I might end up redoing all this.(We'll see)

All of these are back before I decided on my preferred name, so their all signed Fidget or Fluffeh-Shiba instead. like shit, I'm not sure I even knew I was ace yet back then lmao (I figured that out when I was in the middle of making my Lifesize shadow plushie, so maybe inbetween the classic drawings and the bios?) its still the exact same style of signature though, with the white letters and magenta outer glow. (some of this older art in the folder has the super old signature on it though, from before I started dating my art lmao)

ANYWAY since I just threw a bunch of AU art at ya'll, lemme explain some bits of it! Its a swap au (obvs) with mainly Team Sonic and Team Dark, but also with a lot of other characters that I never got around to drawing the stuff for. Essentially, Sonic and Shadow were both on the Ark, with Shadow having just been created (he was a smol babums) and Sonic just living on the ark/being adopted by the scientists. the Ark raid still happened, and like in Canon Maria got Shadow to an escape pod thing, but, ya know, died. Sonic this time was the one traumatized, and GUN, thinking he was the ultimate lifeform (he wasn't) put him in the stasis chamber, eventually leading to SA2 (my favorite game not even gonna lie- not my first game though, that was Sonic Forces) the lifepod for whatever reason had stasis stuff too (Plot convenience!) and the baby was in there for fifty years until it's systems started failing, waking him up. Vanilla, while out in the forest, heard the angy baby noises and investigated, finding said baby and decided "Oh hey, free baby!" and Cream ends up with an older brother when she's born. the original idea was that Vanilla dies at some point, thus making the two orphans like how Sonic and Tails canon are (or at least not around parents? dunno if their actually orphans. the basic idea is that fuck no Vanilla would not want her kids doing dangerous shit so I had to get her out of the picture) but tbh I might be able to think of something else? I can't just pull a disney and kill everyone's parents... (not to mention I like Vanilla and Cream...) eventually the big bad (not Egg) pops in. everything is business as usual (baby Shadow running deliveries for people) and Cream ends up coming across a Chaos Ruby (phantom ruby swapped). the big bad, who I had only called The Traveller so far (I know who it is obvs I just never said it cause baby me wanted to be like OHO REVEAL TIME BITCHES) ended up kidnapping her because he wanted the ruby, thus starting the regular sonic storylines. Rouge and Knuckles are also swapped obvs. Rouge is the last of a bat tribe that lived on Angel island and protected the Master Ruby. She's still obsessed with treasure, she just tends to be guarding the ruby so it's not as obvious. Knuckles is a GUN agent and owns a bar, later ending up with two impulsive blue hedgehogs for a team (Sonic and Metal, who's swapped with Omega.) Theres more obvs, like how the Superforms are silver now instead of gold and such. (I think Blaze and Amy were swapped???) Eggman was kidnapped by The Traveller somewhere at the start before eventually being rescued (probably somewhere around SA2/Heroes) and ended up being the adopted Uncle of Team Shadow (He's a semi-responsible adult. responsible enough to be concerned and all but Eggman-enough to be like "hmm teenagers in dangerous situations fighting demons? thats normal.") Anywhere theres more but like, I'm tired of typing this out honestly and my attention span is failing again LMAO so here have the WiP of my Shadow design in the new style I'm trying out

I have a ton of WIPs that I really want to complete but to help motivate myself to finish them I decided to write this

So Jerry’s personality seems to fluctuate depending on his iteration so I’m just going to tone down his more sadistic tendencies and make him more like the early shorts where he’s more mischievous and acts when provoked instead of going out of his way to ruin Tom’s life for no reason. 

Honestly as a Tom girlie I felt so sorry for Thomas. There were times where that poor cat did not deserve what he went through - even when I was little I would root for him. Though this might just be an oldest child thing since my little sister and mum (who’s the youngest in her family) prefer Jerry.

LEONA KINGSCHOLAR 

Honestly, his first impression of you wasn’t the best. Yeah, you’re a girl and he chugs gallons of respecting women juice for every meal but come on - you’re this tiny little mousegirl from another world who can’t even do magic (not to mention that he’s heard rumours that you don’t even speak that much). You’ll get eaten alive!

Then he met you and all of that went down the drain

The meeting went as it usually does: you stepped on his tail, he angrily confronts you (whilst subtly warning you of the dangers of NRC) but then you just give him this flat, unamused look.

“Hey pussycat,” you deadpan, raising an eyebrow and crossing your arms as you jut your chin up so you level him with a glare, “maybe don’t go leaving your tail lying around everywhere if you don’t want people to step on it.”

Okay, so maybe you weren’t the meek little mouse that he thought you were. Even the predators in his dorm don’t have the guts to talk back to him. Honestly, respect.

Then word gets out that you defeated an overblot and his opinion of you gets more and more favourable.

Long story short, you start dating after his overblot.

And it does cause a few turned heads.

And who can blame them? A lion going out with a mouse. That’s definitely something.

And to the untrained eye, it does sound concerning. But to those who know you (read: have been around you for more than five minutes)? Well, they’re praying for Leona’s sanity because you are nothing more than an agent of chaos.

There was this one time before you and Leona got together where a bunch of Savanaclaw predators were trying to push you, Ace, Deuce and Grim around and without even blinking you just pummelled all of them right then and there. At one point during the curb stomp battle you just pulled a mallet out of nowhere and just started thrashing everyone until they were black and blue.

All that training with Big Cousin Muscles really does wonders

NRC have two new rules: 1) don’t even think about going after the nagicless prefect because you will lose and even if you try to use magic she will dodge and it will be your funeral and 2) DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES hurt Ace, Deuce or Grim because that will probably be the last thing you ever do (memories of Jerry completely annihilating Tom after he hurt Nibbles are resurfacing)

One thing he admires about you is your cunning and intelligence and how you’re always a step ahead of everyone no matter what their plans are. Even when you do find yourself in trouble 

Even Rook Hunt has trouble trying to catch you. Don’t worry though, he’s far too fond of ‘petite mademoiselle souris’ to be irked by that.

He does get jealous of how close you are with Ruggie though. Since the hyena is also a greedy little thieving bugger like you, you have found a kindred spirit in him. The two of you bond over raiding the NRC kitchen and making off with as much as you can. And also taking the mickey out of Leona.

 You also get along great with Cheka. He’s noticed that you have a soft spot for children and other animals. The pro is that he gets his nephew off of his back by pawing him off to you (who he knows will make sure that no harm will come to him) the con is that you get along too well and your chaotic natures mixing will probably send him to an early grave - if your mischievous and provoking nature doesn’t already.

One thing he loves to do is tease you over your mouse-like qualities. Yeah, anyone with eyes can tell that you’re nowhere near as innocent as you look but those mouse ears, wide eyes, squeaks and cute little tail are objectively and indisputably adorable. He takes great pleasure in telling you how cute ‘his little mouse’ is, especially when you give such sweet reactions when you're flustered.

Though he does get taken aback by how bold you are. You definitely did that thing Jerry does where he holds mistletoe above his head and made kissing noises at Tom.

Your high pitched laugh makes his heart melt and he definitely uses his rich boy money to buy you all of the expensive cheese you can eat.

CHE’NYA

He loves you so much. Finally, someone he can be chaotic with - you’re a match made in hell.

His interest in you starts when he tries to sneak up on you whilst invisible but you pull one over him and just turn around, look directly into his unseeable eyes and sprAY WATER RIGHT ONTO HIS FACE-WHAT THE HELL?! WHERE DID YOU EVEN GET THAT SPRAY BOTTLE FROM????

At first he was pleasantly surprised before his face broke into a Cheshire Cat grin. He felt cupid’s arrow hit him square in the chest and he just looked at you with heart eyes.

By asking Trey and Cater and hiding in the rose maze, he gathered enough information to decide that you are his future wife

Turns out that your troublemaking antics have you paired with Ace and Floyd for the position of ‘bane of Riddle Rosehearts’ existence’. Mainly because everytime you break a rule you always, without fail, evade punishment by avoiding getting caught - even when you are clearly the culprit

Trey has bribed you with so many cheese based baked goods to stop you from sneaking into Heartslabyul and causing mayhem (you felt sorry for him so you promised him that you’ll only steal from the main kitchen near the cafeteria. That’s not what he meant but he’ll take it)

One day he catches you kidnapping the dorm’s pet dormouse before an unbirthday party so that you ‘can help your fellow mice by freeing them from their subjugation’. He shrugs and nods in understanding before asking you if he should let out the flamingos and hedgehogs from their pens as a distraction. 

And so a beautiful relationship was born as the two of you ran off with a tray of choux pastries and a bunch of angry card soldiers chasing you.

The two of you have a competition over who can sneak into and stay in Heartslabyul the longest without getting caught and you’re currently the winner.

He loves that you’re not scared of anyone and you’re not afraid to stand up to people that are almost quadruple your size. In fact, he’s there cheering you on whenever you fight back or plot your revenge (he does know that he has a whole other school to attend, right?). One time you showed him one of your revenge plans and he even helped you set the traps and everything. Oh the two of you working together has NRC running for the hills.

Like Leona, he does like to tease you but what do you expect? He’s a cat, you’re a mouse - that’s nature. Though he does love the fact that you’re always one step ahead of him whenever he does try to outsmart you. He loves a good puzzle and you certainly keep him on his toes.

Its going to be a Multi-Chapter Story, I have to structure it more before I start with the chapters. You and Sabo were childhood-friends and the enemys Part is kinda vague to me still, maybe they will only be enemies on paper 😭😂

Synopsis:

When your parents lost their lives in an attack on your village by pirates when you were just a child, Garp, who had to witness the whole thing, took you in. He brought you to Dadan, where you became friends with Ace, Sabo and Luffy. But Garp saw potential in you that he didn't want to see wasted. After Sabo died in the fire, Garp took you to the Marines, where you would train to become a strong Marine-Officer.

You only remember your wonderful childhood with the three brothers when you read about Ace's death in the newspaper. Your memories return piece by piece and your distrust of your superior and the institution of justice grows with each piece of the puzzle. You tried to ignore it all. However, when you reunite with Sabo during a mission in the middle of a civilian uprising, the chaos in your heart comes to a head and you don't know who you are anymore.

Badly injured, the rebels take you in at Sabos request. Whether you will remain a prisoner or become an ally to the Rebels is up in the balance, especialy with the discovery of sleeper agents amongst deserted Marines. You want to show the Rebels, that they can trust you. But can you trust yourself with such a clouded past and the confusing feelings you have for your childhood friend?

And a little snippet from a flashback, because I love this:

Sabo looked down to you laying in the mud, stunned at what just happened. The other three [Garp, Ace and Luffy] watched from further away, just as tense. Where you hurt? After a short moment of silence however, they heared a noise that they never heared before. A birght giggle, as sweet as a songbird singing, errupted from your belly. You wiped the mud from your face as you calmed down from your laughing fit.

Pride swelled in the young boys chest as he heard that sound. He made you laugh! For the first time since you where with them, you laught. And it was his doing!Still covered in mud you where looking up at the blonde brother who was reaching a hand out to you. His bright smile revealed a gap in his teeth, as he pulled you up. “I will make you laught more! I promise!“.

So this question made me laugh, because regenerative healing is actually a major plot device in my WIP, Agent Ace. And I can guarantee that both Janus and Bellona have literally done this exact thing, in competition with each other. This is just a short summary since I am still working on the lore and character sheet of the two ocs I have, so lets do the Main Ace of the two, Outbreak.

Outbreak is the Main PSA Agent and The Secondary EPF Agent. I said “Secondary” for the EPF, since she didn’t joined the EPF officially until the PSA was decommissioned.

Outbreak joined the PSA after an agent saw her helped another penguin find a lost item of theirs. Outbreak was then formally invited and thats where she joined the PSA.

She was the one who handled all of the PSA missions, but she doesn’t know about the EPF until Gary was unexpectedly kidnapped. She worked with the EPF agents to find Gary, but also accidentally uncover a much more bigger operation and kept asking The Director to let her keep joining the said Operation. Which they did allow, but she still never knew about The EPF’s true identity until the popcorn incident.

Thats when she officially joined the EPF. She handled the mission like usual until Operation Hibernation, she had different mindset then the EPF (more likely Gary) about this Operation, after a harsh argument between Outbreak and Gary with some really harsh words thrown out, she left the EPF. She stayed like that for a few months until the unexpected incident of the Water Exposition happened with the disappearance of Herbert. She rejoined back with the EPF, officially.

And then bada bing bada boom, Operation Blackout happen, stuff like that.

Like I said, it is still kinda a wip and there will some changes— but I’ll probably try and expand it more after I finished the character sheets lol

Plu's 2024 Writeblr Intro

Hi!

I'm Aurora but I go by many nicknames. Plu is a popular one. I'm a writer in my 30s who's been writing since I could put pen to paper. I've been on writeblr for a long time so I make new intros now and then.

What do I write? Fantasy! My goal isn't to be published but simply to write because it brings me joy. I've been working on my series since I was ~12, but I've also got stand-alones in the making.

My cast is primarily ace and aro, so if you want romance I am not your gal. Unless you want (gay) soulmates doomed to tragedy because I do got that wip.

Besides tragic soulmates I've got mermaid pirates searching for a sanctuary away from humans that have been hunting them for ages, a futuristic wip where the humans are gone so the dragons are returning or supposed to but only one does, and a dad who gets kidnapped by aliens.

My series is about alternate worlds/earths and the barriers between these worlds cracking, with monsters slipping through the cracks. Infected worlds are eaten by a colossal fog named Nothing. Three factions have risen to fight this.

We have Siruna, the mighty army faction. U.N.I.T are agents hiding in the shadows. The Rebels rose to protect the innocent with no one to protect them in this war.

And, now, we have space elves. They are not from any alternate worlds or on the side of any human.

Ok so I recently took part in a creative writing workshop where I shared Chapter 7 of Agent Ace as my piece to be critiqued. And I got a ton of great feedback from all sides, from parts people loved to thoughts to consider. But then something totally unexpected happened (for me, anyway).

We had submitted our works and read them over prior to the workshop, taking notes and leaving comments and whatnot. And y'all. Y'all.

One of the other writers made me a MOODBOARD. Based off of a single chapter. And it's so good?! Like it matches the essence of Agent Ace perfectly. I've never made a moodboard for a story before, nor have I ever had someone else take it upon themselves to make literal art inspired by my work so to say I'm excited is a massive understatement. In fact I am THRILLED!

multichapter edition in this one! the list is under the read more, for those who voted to keep posting a surprise (tho it'll be a surprise cause my promises mean nothing, i will still probably just write whatever i adhd myself into writing first)

i did this so you can ask me shit which is gonna kick start the problem solving and then i'll be writing more

the list is in no particular order beyond the grouping that's self explanatory, but the first one is a personal fave i wanna draft by september (and no 2 is a very close second because i studied art history and that fic has been worked on with a lot of love since 2014)

the fantasy au main story for this series - a "getting back together" fic after 20 years apart during which one of them got to follow his dream, and the other one got to experience all the world's hurts

the renaissance au with hints of assassin's creed - an old version of this used to be posted with sculptor marco and poor little rich boy ace navigating 16th century venice, politics, and family (and people get stabbed some)

the one true firefighter au - unlike the recent firefighter aus, this one was started many years ago and was also posted once, with a one night stand before ace joins a new station which grows into an unhealthy friends with benefits situation with a lot of life affirming sex instead of therapy (but they're ok in the end probably)

the dragon riders soulmates au - another fantasy fic with some good old dragons and soulmates and dragon politics (maybe some human politics too, but mostly dragons)

the neighbor au - an urban fantasy au with an apartment building full of weirdness and weirdos and really how could two of those weirdos not find each other

the big bois (anywhere between 50-100k)

the mob au - what happens when you end up running a gang on pure accident and realize you don't wanna do that anymore? it starts with a traitor and goes from there

the neighbor au (sex toy edition) - inspired by my previous job at a sex toy company, we're following an engineer with a fun job and his unsuspecting previously very promiscuous bf that lives across the hall

the werewolf mystery - the big centerpiece of this series where a family gets together

the mischief au - werewolf ace and his poor decision making that ends up not being so poor when he meets marco (and who knows what marco is)

the marine au - there has to be a world out there where ace joined the marines (for better or for worse for the marines)

let's dance the rewrite - the retelling (but better) of my very first marcoace fic with a set of 15 nudes ace took (with izou's help) to flirt with marco (it goes just like you'd expect)

the summer by the lake au - ace lives through a hallmark-esque romance in a small town with a buff man he meets in the woods

the lifeguard au - starts with a summer job between semesters and ends with some romantic breaking and entering maybe, what happens in the middle is mostly fun

the summer romance - a band au riding on the wave of inspiration

the might be hallmark au - inspired by random mobile game ads, ace inherits a mansion from a relative he's never known and meets the groundskeeper that's keeping it from falling apart (even more)

the arranged marriage au - inspired by this ficlet where marco gives himself a month to win ace over

the other werewolf au - where everyone is a little bit of an asshole (except the werewolves) and get what's coming to them (it's the werewolves, usually)

the fix-it fic - what's a list without a fix-it fic where ace has a secret and it comes out with a bang (for once, it's not the sexual kind of bang either)

the futuristic au - inspired by a map in overwatch, the story follows a former black ops agent through a transfer to the secluded antarctic research base to escape his problems

the florist au - yet another urban fantasy, with a werewolf and magic, but this one's got flowers too

unsorted cause they could end up anywhere since i'm not working on them yet

the chickens au - that one where whitebeard is inspired by my dad so he gardens and adopts random animals and his boys don't know how to deal with his hobbit tendencies

the viking au - it starts with a viking funeral and weaves through the moments that led to that point, but ends in valhalla which is just about everything they can hope for

the elf king au - the whole story this little ficlet was about because who doesn't like murder, mystery, and a long line of kings going insane
