addiesummertongossip Before singing her hit song “Lover Girl” as Lana Del Rey’s opener, Adelaide gave a short speech. The transcript is included in full below. “So, a few months ago, I released a little song called ‘Lover Girl’. It was an idea I came up with in the middle of the night. You know, like one of those random epiphanies you get right before you fall asleep? And, anyways, the thought was that it would be about a girl, who was once a hopeless romantic — a nod to one of my other songs — but suddenly met the boy of her dreams. He did more than just the bare minimum. When I wrote that song, it was a fantasy for me. I hoped it would connect with lucky members of my audience that actually were in a relationship, but I couldn’t relate at all. Most guys I’d met were assholes. Sorry. And then I met Lando Norris. It’s really funny, actually, how we met. We met on Omegle. Not Tinder or Raya. Yeah, you heard that right. He didn’t recognize who I was; he thought I was just some random, pretty girl, and maybe some weaker person would’ve been hurt by that, but I liked that. I could be myself, my true self, without judgement. He didn’t care about my celebrity status. After I told him the truth about who I was, he said to me, ‘I’m proud that you’re successful, but it doesn’t change anything. I was kinda under the impression that Xadhoom didn't like her new form and saw herself as a freak but now that I think about it she's actually way cooler than everyone else on her planet. Like maybe being made entirely out of energy is fucking dope actually.

Okay so. MANY THINGS JUST HAPPENED. And I have many mixed thoughts. On the one hand, this was kind of a perfect ending for Xadhoom. She said it herself, she got everything she finally wanted: She saw Xari again, her people are alive and safe, she destroyed literally all of Evron (packwatch RIP bozos). On the other hand: WAAAAAHHHH WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH I WANTED HER TO LIVE!!!!! I WANTED HER TO LIVE AND BE HAPPY AGAIN WITH HER PEOPLE NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOHOOOOOOO

LIKE. I can't say it's a BAD outcome they chose but also :( you're telling me she went through all that effort and she FINALLY got to Xari again only to see him for like, TEN MINUTES?? I mean they were running out of pages I guess so in my head they got to hang out longer than that but STILL. AND LIKE MAN IDK. I HAD HOPE. Especially after chapter 28! I have to wonder what the point was of showing us that Xadhoom is CAPABLE of healing and reverting to her old self at any time, and then just never coming back to it? Like it really seemed like they were setting her up to get better 😭 I JUST WANTED HER TO BE HAPPY. AND LIKE SHE WAS BUT ONLY FOR A LITTLE BIT!!!

I think I like the overall plot that's happening in this comic, but the execution could've been much better (this applies to the whole trilogy really). I think the Xerbians could've been brought in sooner into the first chapter (which already felt kinda slow) and then maybe the ending wouldn't have felt quite as rushed as it does. Xadhoom and Xari see each other for like 2 pages and they're just kinda like "oh good you're alive :)" and then Xadhoom immediately kills herself 😭 SHE DIDN'T EVEN NEED TO DO THAT JUST FIND ANOTHER PLANET OR SOMETHIIING

I'm sad though I'm SAD I'm DISTRESSED but not like in a bad way I just really miss Xadhoom. Like I've already read this series but I'm still sad and I still miss her. Nobody will be able to genocide quite like you could queen 🥀🥀🥀 Alexa play I Bet on Losing Dogs please

FREYJA the Frozen

for the longest time i wanted to make a sort of pirate character that ferries my vestige and the rest of the group around the coast of tamriel on their journeys (since all provinces have access to the ocean), and in the beginning i meant to make an old man named haakon or harald or something for that role but then i thought... badass pirate grandma is literally the coolest thing??

freyja was born in windhelm in 2e 508, was a soldier in her youth, but then deserted to seek a life of freedom sailing the seas instead! her ship, the frostmoth (heh), is a sort of part-time home for my other characters, and freyja and her crew (of many races and ages) are friends to spend time with on long voyages. she got her nickname, the frozen, because she would sail further north into the frozen sea of ghosts than most other captains would dare to chart new routes... and perhaps circumvent patrols hunting pirates in the area. she’s a pretty cheerful person, always up for drinks and, despite her advanced age, still very much able to kick some ass if the need arises!

freyja first meets the vestige when the latter needs a ship to travel to bleakrock isle, introductions made by captain jimila~
