You know whats rlly funny? Aside from the other side arguing whose book is next,
the people that think it doesn’t matter, that it can be a gwynriel or an elucien book bcs both ships can happen. Unfortunately thats not how writing and foreshadowing works. If you’re taking elriel completely out of the equation- its either an elucien book OR a gwynriel book. You cannot say it can be either one. Mass left clear foreshadowing for ONE book. You either believe its gwynriel or elucien.
its logic and common sense. The fact eluciens and gwynriels can’t decide whose book is next shows biase. They’re following their personal interpretations and not whats in the books bcs the books clearly tell you which couple is next hence why Mass said it’s obvious. Its not “oh it could be this or that there’s foreshadowing for both!” Wrong. Like w Nessian, one couple is clearly foreshadowed to lead the next book.
hate to be that person but let me remind you all of some basic facts:
Nesta and Elain were the only characters to have their books confirmed. Mass knew the protagonists of acotar 4 and acotar 5, acotar 6 she was unsure off. IF elucien and gwynriel is endgame - this ofc would not be the case as obviously mass would want to tell azriels and elains stories therefore she would have known exactly what all 3 spinoffs would be about.
Acosf - Nessian
acotar 5 - Gwynriel/Elucien
acotar 6 - Elucien/Gwynriel
But again: acotar 6 was left unplanned yet mass researched & planned Elains book therefore using common sense - acotar 6 cannot be elains book. ACOFAS is the bridge between the OG series and New series, it sets up the former. Who wasn’t in acofas…so why on earth does anyone believe she’ll get a book. This isn’t tog. Acotar is formatted completely differently. kepping that in mind - A gwynriel book would go against what Mass confirmed about the spinoffs: They are standalones from each other. You do not *have* to read acosf to understand acotar 5. Yet if gwynriel happens then these are no longer standalones bcs you’d obviously have to read acosf to know about Gwyns existence. and finally: TWO bonuses where released. There is a reason Mass had feysands bonus - the same one that is now being reintroduced in the special editions when we know the time for Mass announcing whose next is close - talk about Elain. She was part of both bonuses.
and finally - the real kicker:
Tumblr media
“I’ve got an idea for a prequel” there is every chance the last book is a prequel, Mass hasn’t told us otherwise. Therefore antis do not have two books where they can be fickle in choosing which of their couples is next. And there is no way in hell, Gwyn will get the book and not Elain.

Some more thoughts on ✨Feyre✨ and 🔥Nesta🔥 between the war and its aftermath...
I'm realizing that ACOFAS was so impactful for me when it comes to how I have thought the characters, especially Nesta and Feyre, were handling things after the war. And most of that remains true.
But in the final chapters of ACOWAR there are these small glimpses into Nesta's trauma response to everything that happened, and in turn Feyre's response to her, that are easy to miss because so much plot tying-up is happening, it's a jam-packed denouement that moves pretty quickly to the book's end and small exchanges are easy to forget amid all of that.
So color me moved and emotional over this exchange between Feyre and Nesta last night as I finished my reread of ACOWAR, where we are seeing these two sisters more healthfully interact than what we see in ACOFAS, and now I'm wondering even more why that is, i.e., what changed so drastically between this scene and the opening to ACOFAS when it's clear things have only grown brittle and distanced between them compared to what we see here (with my favorite parts in bold just cuz followed by my thoughts on it bc ofc):
“Where are you going? The meeting is starting.”
“Why should I be in there?”
“You’re the guest of honor. You killed the king.”
Shadows flickered in her face. “So what.”
I blinked. “You’re our emissary as well. You should be here for this.”
Nesta looked toward the stairs, and I noticed the object she clutched in her fist.
The small, wooden carving. I couldn’t make out what manner of animal it was, but I knew the wood. Knew the work.
One of the little carvings our father had crafted during those years he—he hadn’t done much of anything at all. I looked at her face before she could notice my attention.
Nesta said, “Do you think it will work—this meeting?”
With so many Fae ears in the room beyond, I didn’t dare give any answer but the truth. “I don’t know. But I’m willing to try.” I offered my hand to my sister. “I want you here for this. With me.”
Nesta considered that outstretched hand. For a moment, I thought she’d walk away.
But she slid her hand into mine, and together we walked into that room crammed with humans and Fae. Both parts of this world. All parts of this world.
High Fae from every court. Miryam and Drakon and their retinue. Humans from many territories.
All watching me and Nesta as we entered, as we strode to where Rhys and the others waited, facing the gathered room.
ACOWAR, chapter 79
I know I promised a meta but I'm mostly just perplexed and heartbroken. This is such a beautiful example of Feyre being the best version of herself.
Feyre sees her sister about to retreat into herself, clutching a totem that is linked to their recently deceased father with whom Nesta shared a most complicated and painful relationship, and instead of letting her, Feyre extends her hand and uses her words to communicate to Nesta why her presence is wanted and valuable.
It hurts that this isn't Feyre's consistent way of relating to her sister Nesta both before and after this scene, but I'm heartened by the fact that she has the desire and capability to be united with Nesta and bridge that gap between them if she wants to.
What even happened to go from this sisterly instinct to the more hands off approach we see Feyre take in ACOFAS and feel guilty about even as she lets the distance and pain between them grow and compound with each passing day?
Despite my thoughts here, this isn't an anti Feyre post because I'm more interested in the idea that we know these sisters are capable of standing together united in this strange Fae world they are now a part of. I really, really want to see this restored between them in ACOSF. Outside of my Nessian wishlist and my Nesta healing from her grief and trauma wishlist, this is the third most important thing I hope this next book brings us.

WARNING: SAYO RAMBLES
Should I post my Harry Potter next gen head cannons on here?
By next gen I mean like... 2 gens hehe
I like minor characters ok it’s not a crime but ppl r always like “who?” when I say I like teddy Lupin but ahhhh can u think of all the angst potential?! Teddy x Victoire fanfiction lived rent free in my mind constantly playing 24/7 for like a year and a half nonstop. Then I got into Drastoria (bc WOW ALL THE ANGST BC DRACO AFTER THE WAR AND OH NO HE DOESNT DESERVE ASTORIA BUT WHEN THEY FINALLY ACCEPT THAT THEY COULD BE W EACH OTHER OH NO THE BLOOD CURSE HITS AND WELP WHAT IF SHE CANT HAVE KIDS AND CARRY ON THE MALFOY NAME BUT DRACO DOESNT EVEN WANT TO CARRY IT ON BUT ASTORIA WANTED KIDS AND AHHHH) and then ofc Nessian and then I was like ok that’s enough; Time to write some shit down and then I got ao3 and then i got tumblr
Oh wait I skipped the phase of next next gen — naming Teddy and Victoire‘s kids, naming Scorpius and Albus OR scorpius and rose’s kids, all that stuff (I’m more scorbus but I have read some rly good scorose fics hehe)
Btw I obv dislike JKR & all her TERF-ness
Anyway would y’all want me to make small posts abt what I would name the kids, some head canons, etc? I also made fake instas for next gen characters (ie: Albus Potter, Roxanne Weasley, etc) so should I post them on here?
Lemme know :)

Are their any TOG accs that make non-modern mood boards? like moodboards more accurate to the time TOG is inspired by? but also an acc that doesn’t suck and still has god tier moodboards? just wondering bc ur the queen of tog opinions n aesthetics but the one thing I love about tog is how it’s fantasy so modern aesthetics aren’t rly my thing. If there isn’t that’s fine ofc! 💗💗💞💞💞💞
first of all thank you so much that’s so so sweet of you to say omg!!! 💗💗💗second of all it’s funny it’s like i manifested this message into existence because i was just thinking the other day how odd it was that not once did i have the impulse to stay loyal to the original high-fantasy setting of tog - i didn’t even consciously do “modern au” for my moodboards it just ended up that way because half the time when i’m thinking about tog in my head i adjust it to take place in modern times idk why.
ok now to actually answer your question yes!!
for moodboards specifically (like the typical nine images in a grid thing) @laurenbacall has some great ones, like this one for celaena and this one for nehemia so you could always check her out!
for edits more generally (not just moodboards) there’s @acotars who made this incredible aelin edit, @nessians who made this gorgeous tog women of color one (plus this insanely good acotar one!! altho idk if you’re interested in that series), and, as always, @pocthroneofglass who consistently kills it with edits like this rolfe and aelin one.
also i’m always looking for more activities to distract from the screaming empty void in my heart so if you’d like me to make a high fantasy aes tog moodboard i’d love to do that! if you’re interested lmk what you want specifically (like for one character/setting/book or just for the whole series in general) and i’d be happy to make it

Helloo! I'm a little bit curious what's your favorite SJM series? Your top couple? Other favorite couple to least favorite? Top favorite character and least favorite character? And your favorite SJM line in her books?
Have a great night/morning!
Hi anon!
1. My favorite SJM series is ToG. I love everything about it, the world building, character development and insane plot twist! I love how sjm carefully crafted everything in ToG, she knows what she's doing there. But I also love acotar with my whole heart. I'm about to read CC so..
2. Ofc, Rowaelin and Feysand (is it okay if they're tie? Bcs I can't choose between them lol) are my top couple.
3. Other favorite to least favorite couple:
Elorcan
Ofc Elriel
Nestaq
Asterin and her hunter 😭
Manorian
Lysaedion
Nessian
Borte and Yeran
Chaolrene
(And may I add, I also love Manon's parents story and Gavriel and Aedion's mom.)
4. Hm, top favorite character, again there's two and they're obviously Feyre and Aelin. I'm sorry I cannot choose one lol. My least favorite are Beron and Darrow
5. Favorite Sjm line, again, there's two:
"Even when this world is a forgotten whisper of dust between the stars, I will always love you." EoS
"I would have waited five hundred more years for you. A thousand years. And if this was all the time we were allowed to have.. the wait was worth it." -acowar
Thank you for asking anon! Have a great day/night ahead 💕

you know, im actually tired of azriel's bonus chapter being talked 24/7 like its the most major thing ever. I never seen people get worked up on a bonus chapter that didnt even happen at the end of the book! acosf is the reason why this fandom is so toxic!
Hey anon 🫶
I definitely agree. Bonuses aren’t meant to be given such significance as Azriel’s bonus is given. At this point, His bonus seems to be more important then the foreshadowing in ACOSF it self.
“The shadows were ready to strike Nesta when she insulted Elain during their fight? Doesn’t matter because In Azriel’s bonus they disappear therefore that’s the only proof I need to claim that they absolutely despise and fear her 🥸”
Its a BONUS chapter, that too it was only part of a limited special edition. Let’s be realistic for a second - if someone hadn’t posted it online for everyone to see, those of us who hadn’t brought the SE, we would not know the contents of the bonus. If someone hadn’t kept up with SJM and JUST picked up acosf after reading acotar but is unaware of any bonuses, they too would not know about what occurred in Azriel’s bonus, why? Because its information that is not required to know. Its just an EXTRA. That confirms some suspicions in SF. I can go into detail to prove the irrelevancy of the bonus but ACOSF already tells you everything you need to know for the next book. I hadn’t read Azriel’s bonus until two years ago. Before reading it - elriel, much like Nessian, were blatantly obvious. After reading it? Elriel is still endgame. The reason the bonus is so talked about is due to the fact an entire ship relies on it. Gwynriel’s do not have anything in acosf to prove their ship, its just a bunch of out of context scenes and dialogues that aren’t in any way romantic or foreshadowing. Add in the bonus and GA have something to grasp onto even though it contradicts the book and well…the bonus itself lmfao. Then you have eluciens using the bonus as some concrete proof elriel is toxic and a future abusive relationship. That Azriel is an incel who only wants Elain superficially and Elain is just a little, clueless child who walks around lying to people about what she wants.
Antis CLUTCH onto the bonus as most of their arguments and claims use it as “proof” for whatever anti elriel bs they want to spread. But their points only make sense with the bonus, not without which tells you all you need to know about how valid their arguments are.
Feysands bonus is not talked about bcs it easily disproves gwynriel/elucien. Wings and Ember is only used as a way to show how “toxic” Cassian is otherwise its kept under wraps bcs once again, it disproves antis takes. If you had something that dismissed your entire ships within a couple of lines - ofc you’d avoid it like the plague. Its only Azriels bonus that can give them some hope that their worst nightmare won’t come true. That too, the hope is given after they twist and turn the scenes to fit their narratives.
It’s so important to understand elriels bonus sorry, Azriel’s bonus happens during acosf and not after. Its not the end of the book, after the bonus - there is no change or shift in the dynamic between Gwyn and Azriel. They remain as your usual mentor/mentoree duo. Even more important to remember is in regards to Gwynriel, nothing in the bonus is mentioned. Not their session, not the “spark”, not the necklace. Absolutely nothing. Why? Because it is irrelevant. Yet we get told about Azriel’s mood being off which relates to the elriel part of the bonus directly paralleling Cassian after his bonus w Nesta. Because THAT is relevant.
YEP. The fandom was toxic pre-acosf but it’s nothing compared to now. Unless you’re surrounding yourself with content you like and want to see - you can’t just enjoy general fandom spaces anymore.
Acosf brought up:
Anti Feysand agenda
Nesta vs inner circle
critique of the IC
Pro Tamlin apologists to the point of invalidating Feyre’s trauma
The infamous ship war
Anti Nessian vs pro Nesris
Readers opinion being pushed more then Authors intent.
I hope after Elains book - the fandom goes back to being semi-toxic again and more tolerable/enjoyable then it is now.

i really don’t like the way GA’s try to shove gwynriel down everyone’s throats. and then try to get them to read the bonus chapter, the one that according to them ended elriel and confirmed gwyn and azriel are mates. where?? i mean they can ship who they like but claiming that it’s canon and “mate behaviour” please. are you lying to us or yourself? it’s so obvious. it’s literally right there on the page. azriel is already head over heels for elain, and that’s canon. it’s not lust. it never was.
The fact they *need* people to read the bonus chapter JUST to even understand gwynriel is crazy, especially when you consider the thousands of readers unaware of the bonus therefore gwynriel…but sure. They’re obviously the next couple. If you tell them you ship elriel, one of the first things a gwy/riel says is “have you read the bonus chapter?” That alone tells you how insecure and unsure of their ship they are. I shouldn’t need a bonus to understand where gwy/riel came from, or she is Azriel’s fibal LI and they’re mates. I should have gotten all that from acosf itself which ofc you dont.
They’re rlly dying on the hill that gwy/riel are mated which I find so bizzarre. Why would you want Gwyns mate to be someone who was ready to get on his knees for another woman? Someone who didnt bother to check up on her for 2 years and after she came back from a deadly rite. If gwy/riel are mates - Az is easily one of the worst written male love interests and mate ever.
“the bonus ended elriel!” Pray tell, why would Mass end elriel on a miscommunication? An almost kiss? Seperated from each other? Exactly the way Feysand & Nessian where? What type of author ends a ship in the bonus? Forget the bonus, where was elriel ended in acosf? Bcs last I checked, Elain and Az shared a charged glance, very romantic where as Gwynriel…talked about training. In a group setting.
Gwy/riels dont rlly care about whats on the page. They just want to mold the books to suit their narrative and HCs then argue with anyone that doesn’t agree. If elriel is lust - so was Feysand and Nessian at a point, lust can develop into love, its a trope most books follow nowadays
