He wasn’t at all thrilled about the next client he had to meet that day. They have always been a little too quick to anger and he usually could handle it. He has no idea as to why he wanted to meet today but it would probably be about politics and the upcoming election. A lot of politicians have been going to him lately for some kind of assistance or protection. Even the man’s opponent had ask a few favors so he figured he probably would ask the very same. “Don’t remind me, I’m not too fond of the fella’.” With Jia May by his arm, he rested his hand on hers, and guided her out of the room. He walked by her into the meeting where he immediately sensed something wrong. He looked over to her and tapped his finger at the back of her hand. Most people would view it as a simple and loving gesture but it was Luca’s way on telling her to be on her guard. He couldn’t quite place it but he knew there was something off by the look Mister Carter had dawn on his face. He pulled out a chair for the woman which was close by him while he sat across the politician. “Good evening, Mr. Carter. How am I help you today?”

Needless to say, Jia May was not all that familiar with Muggle politics. But if it was anything like the politics within the Ministry of Magic, then she understood why Luca might not be too fond of his next client. The Ministry of Magic had forbid Jia May from performing her fire magic, claiming that she was a danger to society. It was one the reasons why she had loathed the Wizarding World as a whole, being on the run from them and joining the Muggles, working as a hit woman before she eventually met the man who would become the love of her life. “I feel that way about most politicians, Muggle or not.” She admitted as she made her way out of the room with her man. The way he tapped his finger against the back of her hand was all it took for the witch to be on guard, and she gave him a rather quick nod.
She took a seat next to Luca, her hand clutching against her wand in the inside pocket of her jacket, just in case she needed to defend her boyfriend or herself. For the most part, Jia May remained silent, watching as Luca conversed with the man who looked slightly older - Mr. Carter was his name. A politician, she had been told. While she did not know much about the details behind this man’s relationship with Luca, it didn’t matter. Because the moment it seemed that the deal was going south, she noticed the man draw a gun towards her boyfriend. That was all it took for Jia May to rise to her feet, performing a quick fire spell to blind the man before he could hurt Luca. To hell with the promises she’d made. She wasn’t going to let anyone hurt him.

And it was touching on how she did worry about him and he hadn’t been in a relationship where that was the case. He’d always been a giver, someone who spoils his lovers senseless and protects them with every fiber of his being. Though here’s Jia May with her sweet and protective self, a passionate individual that he could never really stop even if he wanted to. He knew nothing of her world and the laws that she had to abide but if she was willing to break them for him then it was evident on who he was in her life. It was entirely reciprocated. “Powerful people will always have enemies, mi amore. It’s unavoidable.” He drew her hand close to his lips and pressed a gentle kiss on her knuckles, “But if that’s your wish then who am I to stop you?”
“But when it comes to it, Jia May. When there’s no way out- save yourself. I don’t think I could bare the thought of you gone from my life because of the things I do.”

Not that Jia May was someone who didn’t like being spoiled by her lover. She did. She enjoyed every ounce of love that Luca had showered her with, but that did not mean that she wouldn’t do just the same for him. While she wasn’t as wealthy as he was, all she had to give him was the protection of her magic. She did not care for the laws of the wizarding world. She just wanted for Luca to be safe. “Just becase it’s unavoidable, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t act with caution.” She pointed out, a small smile creeping upon her lips when he placed a kiss on her knuckles.
But when she heard what he told her next, she was quick to frown and shake her head. “How could you ever think that I would be willing to put myself over you? I knew of the dangers you came with when I got with you. If things get that bad, I’ll protect you with all that I’ve got, or I’ll die trying. Do you really think I could bare the thought of you gone from my life when I could have saved you? Absolutely not, Luca... I know I’m young, and you might think I’m naive. But I made my choice a while ago. You’re everything to me.”
