My beloved went to bed early (that's okay he had the day off so we spent all day together!) so now I just know I'm going to be up the whole night working on art commission stuff... fine with me! :3 I'm a lil worker bee and I love doing it! Knocked out some quick sketchies to get approval for, and so the other goals for this early AM are:

- freaking finish that dang soccer commission for my work supervisor, format that and her other commission for canvas printing - concept sketch for my brother and his girlfriend's tattoos - continue normal work on approved concept sketches!

Edit: Got a LOT done! Tentatively completed something, got a lot of things started and conceptualized. Even started a gift art for my dang ol' Dad. Once again, avoiding that soccer commission like the plague... (I've done so much work on it but haven't been paid for it yet so I think my poor lil' self is just like: I'm unmotivated and I've done so much! I think if she were to pay me I'd be a little more invigorated again to work on it but it's just like... so many more people are paying me up front to do work and I'm much more compelled to do things for them... not to be money grubby or anything. Then again I think she's much more willing to pay for all the work I've done overall and I know she won't ghost me on payment because I literally work for her and she's wonderful!! Just ugh! Haha)

I just realized something. I have a lot of jewelry, makeup, and other accessories in what may be termed "professional coquette" style that I simply do not feel comfortable wearing to work, because I feel like if I did, people would see me as frivolous, like I don't know what I'm doing, or that I am not to be respected. I can't even manage a bold red lip style, because it's "too feminine."

At home, I sit in a pearl necklace and a pink velvet choker (yes, together, it works) and wear dark burgundy lipstick as I do my paperwork to get my kicks, and it's just so silly.

Because I know that I am not frivolous. I've got a great deal of responsibility and I do it quite well, and if I disappeared tomorrow, it would take some doing to replace me, and until such time that I am replaced, there would be much chagrin and chaos. So shouldn't that mean that I ought to be able to wear whatever I like, as long as it doesn't cross the boundaries of propriety?

Maybe this year, I'll start doing just that. I mean, some of the things I use on a daily basis are already millenium pink (see exhibit above), and nobody's died.

It’s not lost on me that Bernie Sanders is the only mainstream politician touring the country rn listening to Americans’ concerns, giving them hope that a better world is still possible. Not campaigning for President, not an election year, just inspiring swing town voters to use their power to incite change in their communities.

Bernie is 83yo, doing the work that every single Democrat could be doing simply in their own district. He’s packing overflow rooms by the thousands in suburban and rural towns, not “democratic strongholds”. It is possible to get through the next four years but the status quo Dems aren’t going to make that happen.

Imagine what a true progressive party could do for the US. Leftist policy is popular and wins elections. Bernie and others have told us this for decades. If you tuned out his message before, I have to wonder what side you’re truly on. Because his shtick has not wavered with everyday Americans.

i love it when characters are codependent. i love it when losing someone feels like losing a limb. i love it when two people "complete" each other so wholly and terribly that one can barely function without the other. i love it when the fear of losing the only person who understands them is so all-consuming they'll destroy anything to stay together, including themselves.
