for my mistyfoot-in-the-fox-trap au.
mistyfoot does not tell anybody what happened that day, when hawkfrost intended for brambleclaw to kill her. who would help? she cannot forget how her clanmates turned on her, the sneering remarks about her heritage. she cannot forget that leopardstar appointed her deputy only to push tigerclan into the past. she cannot forget riverclan's compliance in the moons of hawkfrost's scheming and undermining and stirring trouble.
so she cannot tell. she can only hope to outlive leopardstar. she can only hope that, once she's leader, riverclan will be receptive to change.
years later, bramblestar's life is stolen by a vengeful ghost. good riddance, mistystar thinks, relieved to never sit beside him in the great oak again.
but squirrelflight is shattered, and mistystar respects squirrelflight. the daughter of her old friend, brave and loyal. moreover, mistystar sees herself and blackclaw in squirrelflight's own tumultuous relationship.
and... if she's being honest... mistystar understands her birth mother a little more, after watching squirrelflight's life fall apart and be put back together again.
so mistystar approaches the grieving cat to offer her condolences. but squirrelflight hasn't forgotten those arguments over hawkfrost, those nights spend burning with anger. she hasn't forgotten hawkfrost's mysterious death or the way brambleclaw avoided her gaze after. she hasn't forgotten what her mate has been hiding from her.
the question slips out. what happened?

why Asriel? I mean I really like Asriel too, I am just curious on why you personally like him so much.
I dano ur gonna have to ask 10 yr old me on this one
yeah idk man essentially I just think if the very experience of playing this game and it's major themes were translated into a character study he is the ultimate subject <- (this is why hes my fav but this is also now my thesis for the derailed rambles below)

(this is about to be VERY nonsensical and all over the place)
no but for real. I actually kind of find it difficult to put into words just whyyy it is I like my favorite character (at any given time) so much... it definetly helps a lot that I have that nostalgia from 9 years ago but if I were to play undertale for the very first time today he'd absolutely still be my favorite. I think he's pretty much one of (if not) the best video game villains ever, particularily because his story could not work and exist in other media forms. at least to nowhere NEAR the impact.
obviously you hear a lot about how he acts as a mirror to you as the player, which yes holy peak. my god perfectly done. but the part that REALLYY sells his character to me, and my favorite aspect of this, is how the game essentially baits you into falling down the exact same path he did (and probably even faster than he did) by just.. promising more. its a short game, not so short you don't have to be invested, but not long enough for you to actually feel totally and fully satisfied with just one playthrough.
undertale is completely designed for replayability- it reads you up and down and fully anticipates that you WILL play this more than once. assuming the route of the average blind player is neutral -> pacifist -> genocide, if you were receptive to the game and, in a sense, played along and took this world and the characters seriously, neutral will probably leave you with much to be desired. it let's you get attached to these characters, but ends so unsatisfyingly. makes you wonder what would happen if you chose differently, especially with flowey (the little guy of the hour) coming in and goading you on to a pacifist ending (which you also learn later that this is part of his oh so evil scheme to keep you around forever). and if your receptiveness let you actually find yourself caring about the ending these characters get, you WILL replay the game to see it through and get the good ending.
ultimately in the pacifist ending toby fox decides to spend a solid 20 minutes making you feel really sorry for asriel, only for him to then be the only character you cannot truly give a good ending. and usually, most people (ive seen) are just shocked at how emotional this little game made them feel and how much they realized they cared about these little guys. and even though you did all that to get the good, preferable ending, you boot up the game again because you dont really want to let those emotions you just felt go. and flowey is there to ask you NOT to do it, because, isn't this what you just fought to stop him from doing?? and it's something he no longer wants- he's stopped seeing chara as the only possible vehicle to his own (self defined) redemption, and hes divorced that projection of the "perfect friend" from frisk, choosing instead to see them as not only their own person, but someone else he needs to let go.
your inability to let this world (that you've expressly chosen to take seriously) carry on in its most desirable ending is what will eventually lead you to try and milk all the possible content out of it, to the point of killing everyone you possibly can just to see what will happen. obviously that's wording it pretty dramatically (i literally replay geno all the time for funsies and i like to fight sans LOL) but I'm just trying to ham up the point that this is practically BAR FOR BAR what flowey says as he recounts how he came to be so bored and apathetic.
it was your own love for the game that made it stop feeling "real" to you, as the more you replay the game, the more dialogue you skip through, the less you truly engage with it. it's kind of an endless cycle of ever diminishing returns to try and replicate how it once felt. (does this sound awfully familiar to that little guy still is this sounding like that guy to anyone else)
I also think he's just kind of funny he's such an edgy little 10 year old man. everything flowey says and does is so irrevocably tied to who he is and the relationships he had and the fact that when he died he was a little kid being influenced by the most emo human to ever step foot on mt ebott LOL. also I feel like when people look at my page they'd probably instantly assume I think "asriel > flowey" but that quite literally means nothing to me that is a chai tea moment like I know everybody has their own interpretations but for me personally i feel that flowey cannot exist as his own character without acknowledging that he's asriel and how that constantly affects everything about him (as hes pretty much his own foil on purpose) and asriel without flowey is just not so much an interesting character to me.. I just think (and again!! everyone has their own interpretations!!!) (ik people like 2 argue ab this) that the most (personally!!!) compelling way to read him is as one singular, linear person. because like thats what he is. he didn't come back as a flower and immediately hop on that murder sauce, the game just intentionally simultaneously shows you both the very beginning and the tail end of his villain arc without you even realizing you are seeing two ends of the same person's life. I'm losing track I think hahao
yeah anyway I like him ibguess I dunno
#undertale#asriel#flowey#this might be indecipherable ive been up all night#and also its obv not comprehensive#like i could totally go on#and ive already talked ab him and chara in prev posts#so this is just ab him essentially

If given the motivation I would ramble more about Trod, specifically Tyren and how he's my little dude but also a character who's behavior I've based on being a victim of obsession and idolization myself and how it's very cathartic to write a character exhibiting all the traits, both good and bad I've experienced in the Lamb's position and then knowing exactly how his story ends
That and some Narinder rambles and how Lamb is more comfortable with him than a sweet dog that surely shows more respect for them (idolization that does not see them as a person)
edit: nevermind I did end up rambling. Some TROD spoilers
It's great, I love this stupid dog and his scheming ways and writing just *why* he's doing what he's doing with genuine belief it's to better protect what and who he loves without actually taking into account the subject of his affection's feelings on the whole matter. He would never hurt the lamb physically but clearly that three eyed cat is nothing but stress for them (and is he wrong? is Narinder not a source of stress? We are not light in the 'enemies' part of the friends to enemies to friends to lovers part of the trope)
Though the difference between Narinder and Tyren, the rehabilitation and the corruption, although all entitlement, is agency.
Narinder often touts himself as uncaring and hostile to the Lamb and is still angry from the betrayal, as they are, but their agency is still considered even in anger.
In the Fox chapter where Narinder wishes to sacrifice Grekimar and Tyren, Lamb refuses. They argue about it and Lamb stands their ground, Narinder is unhappy about it but does not go behind their back and sacrifice cultists anyway when he very well could.
After reuniting after the fight when Leshy is revived, Narinder and Lamb argues heavily over the subject of whether or not Narinder is allowed to kill Leshy, someone who harmed both him AND the Lamb severely, and even though he's bitter about it, Narinder acknowledges the Lamb was not given a choice prior and will sacrifice his own revenge and comfort so the Lamb can have their agency returned, at least a little bit.
^^^ This one is a complicated one because between both characters, neither killing the bishops nor keeping them alive would result in both characters getting what they want, with reasonable desires for it (wanting to have choice again, wanting revenge on their tormentors, ect)
so Narinder essentially sacrifices his comfort for the Lamb, someone who is constantly sacrificing pieces of themselves and sanity to keep everything in peace
It works the otherway around as well: Narinder demanding talismans and God Tears and Relics from the Lamb and they agree, not because they're required to do what he says but because that's their friend, and they trust him enough to help him with whatever he's doing
(and back to the argument where the refusal to sacrifice two followers was in exchange for some of their heart, Narinder refuses and breaks the deal off immediatly even though the Lamb was willing. The Lamb is obviously more important than whatever goal he had in mind, essentially scrapping his partnership with the Fox and method to gain power because he didn't want his usurper to be weakened. and other things.)
I won't talk about EVERY instance of this because this is already a long post, but overtime the two are forming communication, compromise, and even in anger, there is a respect there that puts them on the same level as equals.
Tyren does not really fall into that.
Tyren would never, and I mean NEVER hurt the Lamb physically. He would never yell at them, never be angry with them, never be upset with them, because he does not see them enough as a person to feel those things around them.
And if the Lamb does disagree with him or make him upset, he will simply....disregard their current feelings on the situation and do what he thinks is best for him and them, even if it goes directly against their wishes.
And unlike Narinder, he would do it behind their back to stay in their good graces.
Tyren does care for the Lamb. Genuinely. He did long before that necklace was around his neck. He was already a little obsessed before the loyalty necklace was on him, it just gave him a slight edge.
He respects them but also doesn't. He takes their rejection at the party in stride and is completely unphased by it, completely understanding, but also plots to kill someone the Lamb called a 'friend' because the three-eyed hermit is clearly stressing them out and it makes no sense as to why they're crusading with him, or spending time with him when he's been nothing but a murderer and a blight.
I think a good summary of all this ramble is that when the Lamb tells Narinder to leave Tyren alone, Narinder goes 'whatever i fucking hate you and this stupid cult anyways. die forever' but does what they ask, while Lamb tells Tyren to please leave Narinder alone, and Tyren goes 'sure! :) anything for you my lamb' and digs up a corpse and drops it's mashed remains outside of the cat's hut with a fake letter from the Lamb saying it's 'breakfast'.
Narinder and Tyren are both very selfish, but in different ways
None of this probably makes sense
It is also 6AM

the villainesses scheme
✧ tags: yandere haikyuu male leads x villainess reader
✧ warnings: yandere behavior (later on), reader hits her head
✧ a/n: hi guys guess who’s back!! i love the isekai trope where the mc gets reborn a few years before their death and i needed to put my own lil’ twist on it! i’d love to turn this into something longer (like a series or something) so give me your thoughts!! my recent haikyuu obsession led to this one lol, inspired by: the male leads were stolen by an extra
You were a loser, well not exactly. You had a pretty stable job and a nice flat but lacked one major component in your life: friends. But it’s not like you were antisocial! Moving to a new city just a few months ago, you had been busy with moving in and didn’t exactly have enough time to make friends.
Besides you were preoccupied with your favorite web comic of all time: Flower of the Estate! A commoner girl that has three noble men falling for her? This girl really had some crazy cha(rizz)ma. You weren’t really into harem type stories but wow did it keep you coming back to see what happened.
It was another late night reading Flower of the Estate when you decided to head to the kitchen to get some snacks to keep you fueled. However, when you turned to retreat back you slipped on spilled water near the sink and hit your head on the granite counter! You mentally curse yourself for not cleaning it up as you drift into a deep slumber.
When you open your eyes and the lights blind you, quickly slapping a hand over your face you shoot up. Registering the soft plush beneath you you opened your eyes, when did you get in bed? Looking around your jaw drops, who the hell put you in a room like this! The whole room was illuminated by sunlight peaking behind the luxurious navy drapes and you gasped at the sheer size and extravagance of the bedroom. You were… in a castle?
Jumping off the bed you immediately fell to your knees with a thud. How long had you been out for that your legs were this weak? You push yourself up and stumble to the mirror on a vanity next to the bed. The satin fabric of your night gown fell to the ground, revealing the length that had been bunched up while you were sleeping.
In the mirror, the first thing you see is (e/c) eyes and a face eerily similar to yours. It was your face and body for sure but the state of it wasn’t, your hands were usually rough and your knees were scarred from playing as a child but now both were smooth and even. Then your eyes feel on a crest engraved onto the top of the vanity and your heart dropped.
The beautiful family crest of a black fox protected by two swords was a prevalent symbol in Flower of the Estate. It was the crest of the villainess. You, (y/n) Aleria, were the cruel villainess of the story, waking up here and looking like this had no other explanation. To see if it was true you quickly pushed the sleeve of your left arm up, on the wrist was a faint birthmark. A scar in the shape of a half moon, your fate was sealed. You fall back on the bed. ‘Shit.’
You were official the villainess of Flower of the Estate, who bullies the main character, get thrown out of high society, and then dies. You knew the path that the villainess followed and the actions she took, did that mean you could avoid facing the same death as her as well? The first mistake that she had committed that set her on the path of destruction was her bullying of the main character.
The villainess was notorious for her extravagant lifestyle and cruel manner, she didn’t have anyone close to her and the book never showed her point of view. You knew the basics about her but who was (y/n) — really? Was she really just jealous of the commoner girl that had managed to outshine her or was it deeper than that?
No matter why she behaved that way, you knew that following on her footsteps would only lead you to doom. You needed a game plan, plus you read enough reincarnation manga to know what basic things to avoid as the villainess.
Love Interests and Relations:
Tooru Oikawa - Childhood love (One sided) and (y/n)’s main obsession
Tobio Kageyama - Royal knight who pledged their loyalty to (y/n)
Ushijima Wakatoshi - Esteemed scholar who ended up being (y/n)’s tutor for a short period of time
Ok… this would a little harder than you thought. Why were all the love interests involved with the villainess anyway? Oikawa could be avoided easily enough, you just needed to distance yourself from him and considering that Oikawa was keen on getting rid of you. If you remembered correctly he was rather annoyed by the villainess who would cling to his side like a lost puppy. As for Ushijima, you knew that he would only be your tutor for a month, then leave your care to meet the main character who he would eventually fall in love with. Kageyama would be the hardest to get rid of compared to the other two, he would be around the villainesses the longest and somehow fall in love with her. However much like the others, he would fall in love with the female lead and leave (y/n) to be with her, withdrawing his pledge to be by her side.
Ugh. This is going to be a headache isn’t it?

Relationship HCs
Still unsure of how I wanna write the Sinners characters so forgive me if these are a bit choppy, I'm working on it!
Warnings: Mentions of blood, death, and very slight arson, brief mention of sexual talk(Stack), mentions of crime, brief mention of a gun(Smoke), mention of stalking(Remmick obvi), manipulation(Remmick), control(Remmick), kinda gaslighting(Also Remmick, damn this guy's a catch), AFAB reader in mind though it's mostly gender neutral, I think that's it
Characters: Smoke, Stack, and Remmick
Elijah "Smoke" Moore
His life has been full of corruption, backdoor deals, and distrust in the system. That's just how it is for men like him. Smoke reads people like newspapers, and you earn his trust slowly. If you're "not from around here," he watches you like a hawk at first.
On the other hand, Smoke doesn’t "date"—he courts. Expect slow-burn tension built through lingering glances, quiet walks through town at dusk, and handwritten notes left tucked in a book. It’s old-fashioned in the most soul-stirring way.
He doesn’t open up quickly. Early on, he watches you more than he speaks to you—measuring your words, your reactions, your soul. But once Smoke trusts you, his emotional depth is staggering. He doesn’t say "I love you" often, but when he does, it lands like scripture.
He isn’t the type to grandstand. He protects you with subtleties—walking on the side closest to traffic, checking the locks twice, noticing when your mood shifts even if you don’t say a word. He’s like a steady hand on your lower back guiding you through a crowd. And he'd kill for you without a second thought. But you’d never know—his threats are silent. Just a hard stare, a slow stand, a calm "We done here?"
Smoke doesn’t announce his anger. He doesn’t rant, or threaten. He watches. Measures. Files it away. If someone hurts you—really hurts you—he doesn’t need to raise his voice. He’ll simply make sure that person’s luck runs out. Even if that's simply pulling out his pistol.
Smoke likes smalls rituals. Consistency. Getting up at the same time, making the bed, making coffee, sitting down to eat. He’ll invite you to share those rituals, not to control you, but because sharing sacred things is how he shows love.
You'll never have to guess what he wants. Despite not being a talker, Smoke isn’t a game player. But you will need to read between silences. In return, you get loyalty and devotion that feels elemental.
He's not PDA-heavy, but behind closed doors? Smoke’s hands say everything his mouth doesn’t. He holds you like he’s grounding himself. It's deliberate, reverent. Like he's memorizing every part of you.
Elias "Stack" Moore
Stack falls fast and hard—if he's into you, everyone knows. He’ll drag you into a whirlwind of chaotic plans, late-night drives, half-baked schemes, and sweet nothings mumbled against your neck at 3AM.
If anyone so much as looks at you wrong, he’s ready to throw down. You're his, and though he’d never cage you, he makes damn sure you feel claimed—in the best, most delicious way.
He can sweet-talk you into anything—an argument, a kiss, a stupid adventure. But beneath the charisma is someone who feels everything too much, all the time. You’ll be the calm in his storm, but Stack needs someone who isn’t afraid to stand up to him, too.
He’s the kind of guy who says "I love you" mid-fight, throws his jacket over a puddle for you, and would absolutely get you anything you ask for, even if it's mentioned in passing.
A stolen locket. A nice coat he bought for you. A flower plucked from the cemetery fence. He shows love like a fox bringing gifts to your doorstep—part concerning, part suspicious, but still all sweet.
Physical affection is constant with Stack. Arms slung over your shoulders, kisses on your temple mid-sentence, rough hands tangled in your hair. Stack loves hard, and he needs to feel close to you to function.
He uses every possible term of endearment for you—"doll," "sugar," "honeybee," "sweetheart," "babygirl," "pretty thing." He’ll call you "trouble" with a grin and whisper sexual things under his breath in front of others just to see you blush.
You spend most nights at the Juke joint together. He thrives in low-lights with the blues playing and whiskey flowing. He’ll take your hand and twirl you through a crowd like you’re the only person alive. He might get into a fight. He'll likely win. He’ll definitely make it look like it was for you—even if it wasn’t.
Stack takes things personally. You cry? He’s already on his way to break somebody’s jaw. He doesn’t think first. He reacts. Wildly, passionately. His love is loud, so his vengeance is louder.
Stack's temper is a match waiting for a strike. But with you? He softens. Even during the fights you may have, he'll barely raise his voice, if at all.
He is feral about making sure you’re taken care of. He grew up knowing pain and hunger, and you’ll never feel it if he can help it. Even if it means going back to a life of crime.
Remmick
At first, he waits. Watches. Learns what you like, what you dislike before you ever know his name. Then, Remmick woos like a gentleman—pulls out your chair, quotes poetry, knows exactly when to laugh, when to lean in, when to say your name like it means everything. But it’s never just romance—it’s strategy. Your reactions are data. Your affection is leverage. At least, that's how it started.
Everyone else is expendable, usable. But you? You’re different. Once you’re his, he doesn’t let go. He might test you, manipulate you, but it always comes with that unsettling devotion. You’re not part of his plan. You are the plan.
He'll act like some upper class man in most scenarios, folks trust easier that way. But when it comes down to it, he fights like someone who grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. Because truthfully, he did. That duality is part of his draw—and his danger.
With enough motivation, he can find anyone. And if they hurt you or insult you, you won’t hear a word about it after the fact. You’ll just see a headline the next day about a new missing person. And his only comment? "I warned 'em."
Whether you have money or not means nothing to Remmick, he doesn't want that. He wants your loyalty. Not the easy kind. The kind forged through shared secrets and dangerous truths. If he has your trust and you have his, he’ll kill the whole town for you. Burn the world for you.
He's possessive, but not always openly. You won’t always see it. But you’ll feel it when someone else touches your hand too long. That cold silence. The next day, the person is gone. "They had debts," "Shame, really."
Remmick doesn’t control in obvious ways—he guides. He convinces. Suddenly you’re wearing what he likes, avoiding who he hates, echoing things he’s said. But he frames it like care. And maybe to some extent, he believes that's what it is.
He doesn’t believe in second chances. Betrayal is met with ruin. But if you wrong him—hurt him, lie to him—he can’t let go. Not really. He might punish, withdraw, twist the knife—but he won’t walk away. You’ve been branded into his soul, and he hates that as much as he craves it.
Someone talks bad about you? They’re scared shitless later that night. Touches you without permission? Their business burns down. Hurts you? They vanish. He doesn’t just get even—he erases.
He trusts almost no one. Most people he keeps close are pawns and usually not even people. But you? You’re the one person he doesn’t use, even if he manipulates the world around you. He’d kill for you. He’d die for you. And though he'd never let it happen, he expects the same devotion.
You’ll never get the full story (At least not while you're human). Not until it’s too late. You’ll know pieces: his banjo, the letter in a foreign language he hides, the night he came home covered in blood with calm eyes. You’re not sure if he’s trying to protect you—or protect himself from what you might think.

A combined rec list for July & August ❤️
Before This, After That by @orchidscript (book-verse)
@dot524: Henry has a serious horse-riding injury and is in a downward spiral with his recovery until Therapist Alex pulls him out of it. I liked the sharp-edges interaction between them as they fall for each other. I actually read this one a while ago and it was just as good as a reread!
The darkest part of the forest by @everwitch-magiks (book-verse)
@suseagull04: I've loved this entire series, but this was my favorite by far so far! The way the author does world building in her fics is incomparable, even in a fic this short! I would love if she decided to make this a multichapter someday!
Count The Stars and Constellations by @everwitch-magiks (book-verse)
@suseagull04: I've said it once already this month, but it bears repeating: the way the author does world building in her fics is absolutely phenomenal! This one's an outer space saga for the ages, plus it's a multichapter, so we get to see Alex and Henry fall in love over the span of several years, and it's a bit angsty, but absolutely worth it!
An Exquisite Temptation by @tinyarmedtrex (book-verse)
@na-dineee: Henry became a Catholic priest to escape his homophobic family. Never did he expect to meet a stunningly attractive and equally charming, mouthy Texan who would seriously challenge his devout faith. Y'all can guess where this is headed, right? Delicious in so many ways: emotional, full of ‘80s vibes, angsty, smutty—an absolute masterpiece! Chef’s kiss!
How to get over Henry Fox: A list by dazedandconfused (book-verse)
@na-dineee: This AU is set in 2002, and Alex breaks up with the love of his life Henry. Even though it's clear they’d only be apart for a year, the story is still so gut-wrenching. The hurt and angst really got to me—reading that fic is a challenge, but it's absolutely worth it.
late night devil (put your hands on me) by @nine-butterflies (book-verse)
@suseagull04: The way this author took a 4 chapter fic and gave the world so much history and lore is absolutely incredible! Plus there are so many moments of Alex and Henry's relationship that're reminiscent of the book. Everything about this fic is amazing- and it's also definitely a good fic if you're looking for something for Halloween when it arrives soon!
right there beside him (all summer long) by @theprinceandagcd (book-verse)
@daisymae-12: The winter in Australia had me craving a story with summer vibes and this fic was perfect for that. Loved everything about this fic!!
Interrupted (series) by RadioFriday (book-verse)
@dot524: Henry is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, just like his dad was. This story follows him and Alex through their painful journey, including the end of it and beyond. Read this if you’re in the mood to have your heart broken, over and over.
the very essence of love by dollarstoreannabethchase (book-verse)
@suseagull04: It's RWRB, but from Henry's POV. The angst of the original is heightened in this (believe it or not, it can be done), but that makes the ending that much sweeter, and I loved the insight into Henry's thoughts!
somewhere in your world by @callmevenji (book-verse)
@na-dineee: Prince Henry, student at Oxford, tries to reach a hook-up gone wrong – and ends up texting someone else entirely: Alex. A deep chat friendship unfolds, while simultaneously Henry begins to fall for the charismatic FSOTUS. Whether it’s the universe at work, coincidence, or fate, the pleasure of reading this heartfelt fic is indescribably beautiful !!
In the Grand Scheme of Things by @itsmaybitheway (book/movie-verse)
@suseagull04: Meet cute at a wedding, instant attraction, intellectual banter- this fic has it all! Plus this is the best AU characterization of firstprince I've seen in a while, it's fantastic!
marked by rizcriz (book/movie-verse)
@zwiazdziarka: a soulmate AU with some extra drama - Henry learns that the reason he hasn't met his soulmate was his grandmother's plotting. Extremely well executed - my heart was breaking and then singing when it all turned out well.
Someday Soon I’ll See You (But Now You’re Out of Sight) by MaryaDmitrievnaLikesSundays (book-verse)
@dot524: In the mood for some intense angst? I needed like two business days to recover from reading this one. The story is a devastating view of complex grief as different characters deal with Alex’s death. I thought that the odd and asynchronous ways the grief manifests for different people was raw, real, and well done.
peace by @raysletters (book-verse)
@suseagull04: This is the Sky High AU I didn't know I needed! I love how this isn't a carbon copy of the movie but uses each character's strengths and weaknesses- and it's also just a very cute magic high school AU, which is just the cherry on top!
Son of a Gun by foux_dogue (book-verse)
@na-dineee: I hope you’ve all read 'It's not a secret' by now? I wasn't aware until it was published, but I needed that follow-up so badly! In this fic, which can be read as a standalone, Alex cuts down his work as a tattoo artist to take care of the kids (good thing Henry is loaded) and inevitably has to deal with the Milton-Saylor Academy Mom Squad. Absolutely wholesome, full of domesticity—just like, excellent!
You Set The Tone by @iboatedhere (book-verse)
@na-dineee: Alex is an emergency room doctor and Henry a pediatrician in the same hospital, and their animosity (read: infatuation) with each other began just as unfortunate as in canon. Their gradual coming together, intertwined with the medical emergencies, is wonderfully crafted. The tension is effortlessly maintained over 70k words, never feeling contrived. I was so moved while reading, it hurt phenomenally good, and I cried more than I have in a long time.
pick your poison babe (im poison either way) by sheWritesToLiveVicariously (book-verse)
@na-dineee: Co-workers to lovers with lots of emotion and a touch of angst—it never gets old, right? This 5+1 story is part of the "little moments that pass us by" series, and like all the stories in it, it's rather short, but full of feeling, very soft, and so touching. I'm already looking forward to hopefully many more fics in this series.
Down In The Valley by @aforgottennymph (book-verse)
@daisymae-12: This Stardew Valley AU was such a lovely read and as an avid stardew valley player, I thoroughly enjoyed all the little easter eggs and references to the game. Even if you’ve never played Stardew, this is still such a sweet and delightful read!!

Let's talk about he unwarranted Fox hate.
I often see that a lot of people tend to hate on Commander Fox, often portraying him as a villainous kind of character or very cold and selfish compared to the more heroic and beloved Commander Thorn.
I see these two characters portrayed as "the good commander" and "the bad commander" of the Coruscant guard, when in reality they are both pretty much the same character.
But just for the fact that Fox killed Fives, the public decided to label him as a "bad guy".
But that's not the case, in fact if we changed characters and placed Thorn hunting after Fives and Fox on the diplomatic mission, chances are both situations would have ended the same way: with Fives dead at the hands of Thorn and Fox dying heroically for the republic.
Why is this?
Well for starters we need to understand what a Coruscant guard is.
These were clones that were raised and trained differently from common clone troopers as their assignment was to act as a security police force for Coruscant. As a result, they dealt with different threats than normal troopers.
Clone troopers knew what their enemies looked like, the separatist forces were easy to recognize in the battlefield. But for the Coruscant guard the enemy could take many forms. They would not see battle droids on the streets attempting on the lives of the senate. They would have to deal with terrorists, dressed as common folk or unconscious work droids. They had to be more alert and more skeptic of their surroundings 24/7 as the fate of the republic laid in their hands.
One false move could cost the lives of the chancellor and the senate and with them the Republic would fall. That is the weight these clones carry on their shoulders. This is the responsibility that both Fox and Thorn carry along with the other commanders in red.
Both Fox and Thorn are very similar in canon.
Fox appears more than Thorn and we can see from his canon(and legends) appearances that he is a fiercely loyal clone to the republic, hard working and honorable like many of his brothers. He is the first to charge into battle, leading his troops with bravery and has little patience for criminals.
Thorn seems to have a similar sense of duty, loyalty and bravery that Fox has, as he also stands his ground during battle, refusing to surrender til the very last second. We sadly don't see more of Thorn beyond his one and only appearance.
So why do people hate Fox so much, when he and Thorn are not that different?
Well, he killed Fives.
But I don't think he should be hated for it.
To explain this, join me to see things through the fox's eye, and learn the other side of the story.
We as the audience know Fives since he is a Shiny, and we see him grow up, level up, become an ARC trooper and survive many perils. We see him discover that one plot that we know causes so much death and destruction and even tho we know the ending of the story, we want to root for him and we get frustrated when we see no-one hears him out. We also, as the audience, know that Palpatine is the bad guy, he is playing chess against himself and ruining the lives of countless people for his own sick pleasure in his path to rule the Galaxy.
But Fox doesn't know any of this.
He doesn't know Palpatine is secretly Dath Sidious. He doesn't know there is a secret plot to destroy the Jedi and that he and his brothers are just pawns in a greater scheme.
As far as he is concerned, the Chancellor is the head of the Republic, and if anything happens to him it might mean the end of the Republic and the death of not only him but all his brothers. It's his duty to protect Palpatine from harm. And there are a lot of people trying to hurt him.
He also doesn't know Fives.
He might have heard of him as Fives is a respected ARC trooper from the 501st. But he doesn't know him personally like we do, like Rex does. He has no real connection to him other than Fives being another Clone like him.
So when he hears that there is this erratic clone that tried to kill Palpatine and is now on the run, of course he would see Fives as a threat.
Remember that the Kaminoans covered the whole inhibitor chip thing by saying it was a behavioral regulator, that kept Clones from becoming aggressive and erratic. The Kaminoan even took the example of Tup's chip malfunction as proof that without the chip the clones turn irrational and unpredictable. This is the information the characters have. The ONLY ONES that know the truth are Palpatine, the Kaminoans and Fives.
So in Fox's eyes, Fives turned erratic because he also has a chip malfunction. He became irrational, unpredictable, erratic and has attempted to kill someone before. He might try to do so again and is now on the run. It's his duty as head of the Coruscant guard to find him and stop him before he hurts someone.
When he finds Fives, he has Anakin and Rex as hostages and is talking nonsense, acting erratic and paranoic. He could hurt Anakin or Rex, two very important and prominent figures in the GAR and their deaths could result in disadvantage against the Separatist forces. Fox cannot afford that. And yet he doesn't enter shooting, he points his gun at Fives and orders him to raise his hands and surrender. He gives Fives a chance to go peacefully, to de-escalate the situation. And when he sees that Fives looks at the blaster on his side he even yells at him to stop, he asks him not to do it, not to take the gun and make things worse. But Fives doesn't listen, he takes the gun yelling and Fox has to make a split-second decision.
In a moment like that, when you are a second away of a disaster, when you, your brothers or the hostages could get killed by the shot of a unhinged person. You don't get enough time to think.
Fox reacts and shoots Fives to stop him from harming others.
Sure, we could argue that Fox could have used stun instead, or that he could have shot Five's hand, anything to not kill him.
But we need to understand that in situations like that, when tensions are high, then it's life or death and you have to take a split-second decision, you don't usually have time to be rational.
Even the most trained people can't always take the most rational option, and often choose the best option they can.
Fox took the best option he could in that situation.
And I don't think that Thorn, Thire, Stone or any of the other Shock trooper Commanders would have done any different, any better.
They all would have been faced with the same dire situation, and they all would have had to take the split-second decision.
One could argue that the fact that Fox was not present in the circle of Coruscant guards taking off their helmets as they mourn Fives, could imply that he was indifferent to his death.
And maybe? However I don't think that's the case.
Remember that Fox tried to stop Fives, he tried to give him a chance to surrender and in the end he couldn't stop. He had to shoot a fellow clone. A clone whose face he sees in all his brothers, the companions he trained with, fought with, work with everyday. He did not wanted to kill Fives.
That has to be very haunting.
I like to believe that Fox is not the mourning circle, because he had to take a step back to come to terms to what he has done.
Fox has been proven to be an honorable man. How can he stand a join the mourning of a man he just killed? How can he see into Rex's eyes as he cries for the close brother he has lost? Maybe he felt like he had no right to be there.
Then again this is just my speculation, considering what little canon we have of Fox.
In general I don't think we should hate on Fox for Fives' death. Sure, Fives is easily my second favorite clone, way above Fox in my raitings, and I suffered a lot when he died. But I do think that the situation was way to out of hand and Fox did as best as he could to keep everyone safe.
Fives was not at fault either. Remember he was drugged, and he was feeling frustrated, paranoic, confused, he was panicking and not thinking clearly.
The only one at fault here is Palpatine and his schemes.
That said...
I'm not saying that you should stop portraying Fox as a cold and ruthless character.
Hell, I myself like to represent him as a more stoic and sarcastic person compared to his brothers and I've seen many different portrayals of this character, with many different personalities that I love!
You are free to a enjoy the fandom as you wish after all!
Just keep this post in mind and please don't hate on people who like Fox as a character.
We all deserve to enjoy Star Wars and it's wonderful characters that inspire us.

Hi, I have a fic idea. So Beron has somehow found out that Eris is scheming against him but Beron just doesn't know what Eris' plan is. So the reader is basically told by Beron to get close to Eris to find out his plan. But as time passes by, Reader falls for Eris and can't bring herself to tell Eris' plan to Beron in the court room but Eris over hears the their conversation and confronts the reader. He also asks her why didnt she snitch on him so the reader tells him that she loves him too much to do that. Then reader is attacked by Beron's soldiers or you can end it however you like. If you don't wanna write it, then it's okay but just let me know what you think of it🥺.
I think this is amazing and a twist on what we normally see for this storyline idea.
Tainted Love
Warnings - torture. Beron, cliffhanger. Angst and anger. Betrayal.
"Do you want to tell me why I caught you with my father tonight or do you want me to find out on my own?"
You took a deep breath, looking to the ceiling for strength. It had already been a hard day dealing with Beron. The last thing you wanted to be doing was dealing with an angry Eris now, too.
"Can we talk about it in the morning, please? I just want to enjoy dinner."
Eris looked at you as if you had grown a second head. "Tell now, or I will let Azriel tell me why he sent me there."
You had to hold back your eye roll at the mention of the shadowsinger. Since Eris pulled you into his bargain with Rhysand, a shadow has trailed you. Following you and relaying your every move to the Inner Circle and Eris.
It was fair at first. You knew that deep down inside. You were one of Beron's more talented spies, used for situations where the males just weren't enough.
You were soft, gentle, beautiful. It was easy for people to open up to you, and that was why Beron had picked you for this over his other options.
He knew Eris was plotting and playing against him. He's known for years. He just needed to figure out how.
That was where you came in. Eris has an eye for you since the two of you were children. He had loved you since you were teens. Now, as adults, Eris was absolutely in love with you. He loved you from the soles of your feet to the soft curl of your hair and every flaw in-between.
You, having never known love or safety, had walls he'd been trying to take down the second you began approaching him on Beron's command. You have naively expected his efforts to fail, but one night as you two danced in his kitchen, you realized they hadn't.
You were helplessly in love with Eris.
And your mission had changed.
You had started giving Beron information while also exposing fae in the court Eris needed taken out.
The master of coin? You caught him steal from under Beron and Eris's noses, in a ploy of his own to wipe out the family as a whole. You watched him burned by your High Lord the second that information was tortured from him.
His second general, the one Eris hated, you turned in for hiding tithes and embezzling from his territory. He was given a traitors death, sent to the forest to become one with the trees, ripped down flesh and all by their roots.
Beron had caught on, though. Each interrogation proved each fae you turned in was not working with Eris, nor aware of his plan.
You could still feel his hand below your dress, resting in your ribcage just above your heart. He was on to you, and if you weren't smarter, you too might meet that dungeon and those trees.
Eris cleared his throat and brought you back to him. "Don't make me ask again, little fox. Please just tell me the truth."
You set everything down and stepped away from the table, ensuring there was space between you two. "Beron knows you're working against him," Eris's face dropped before schooling. "He's known for awhile."
"For how long?"
You looked up, tears starting to fall as you realized this would be the end.
The second you told him, there were no more nights in his arms. No more shared kisses. No more hushed I love yous.
But telling him put him another step ahead of Beron. You had already launched him impossibly ahead. Beron would only figure out his plan when it was too late, when Eris had already made that final move and Death reached a cool hand out to take Beron.
"Since after the war with Hybern. He found a letter from the shadowsinger in your office. He had another of his spies decode it."
Eris nodded, processing everything slowly before standing himself. "And how, y/n, do you know all of this?"
"He told me when he asked me to get close to you and figure out your plan."
The confession was a hanging. Eris stood there nodding before taking his whiskey in his hand and downing it. "So all of this wasn't real. All the nights whispering about our dreams? All the plans we made? This all meant nothing to you?"
"You mean everything to me," your voice broke. "At first, yes, I was doing my job. But I fell in love with you when I saw who you were. When I realized who you wanted to be to this Court. To our home. I never told him anything. I've been distracting him with information regarding males you wanted taken out anyways."
Eris shook his head, his own tears beginning to fall. "I don't believe you. I loved you. I fucking loved you and you did this to me? To us? Even if you were telling me the truth, how am I ever supposed to trust you now? How can I trust you to rule at my side?"
No answer came from you. You stared towards your boots in shame. "Azriel can tell you everything that was discussed. I know you all have a shadow trailing m-"
"Because Rhysand didn't fucking trust you!" Eris broke down into anger. All formality has left him as he pulled at his short hair and paced the dining room of your small home. "Rhysand did not trust you and I should have never trusted you either."
You watched as he grabbed his jacket, "I am done. Do not follow me. Do not come find me. When Beron is gone, you will leave this court or I will have you killed. Your choice."
You couldn't help but to look up, tears falling and stinging your face. "Eris, please, I love you."
He paused momentarily, resting his head on the doorway. "I wish I could believe that, y/n. I love you more than anything, I always have, and I probably always will. But you lied. You played me."
"I did my job so he wouldn't kill me," you turned away from him, having thought he of all fae would have understood.
"Maybe it would have been better off if he had." Eris left, slamming the door behind him.
The news of your breakup hit the courts quickly, too quickly for you to pack and leave.
Which is why you found yourself tied to a whipping post in Beron's private dungeon. He had sent some of his men for you, allowing them to best you before dragging your unconscious body here."Turns out your cunt isn't as powerful as you think it is, is it dear y/n?"
You didn't respond, knowing that would only make day 3 of this torture worse. "You had one job, and you failed me." You felt Beron's hand trail your back before grabbing the collar of your dress and ripping it down to bodice. "Such a shame, too. I find you absolutely exquisite. Maybe my son just has higher standards or different tastes than I do."
You didn't have time to prepare as the first lashing came, ripping your skin open and causing your mouth to fall open in shock. "How many do you think you deserve, y/n? Not only did you fail me. You also allowed him to bed you, losing all power and worth you may have thought you had to me, and what little information you did give me, while useful, never gave us an answer on my son's impeding betrayal." Another lashing had you crying out, body leaning against the pull as the cuts overlapped and merged together.
Beron ran his hand up your back again, knee digging into your spine as he pushed you into the whipping pole and put your hair up into a bun. "Do not fret, little doll. I won't leave marks where anyone besides me will be able to enjoy them if you survive."
You lost count of his strikes after 20. You couldn't even respond anymore to them. You felt Beron's chest against your back as he untied you, allowing you to fall to the ground, body too broke to hold itself up.
He left you there bleeding on the dirt, unable to move to clean the deep wounds or even take a proper breath.
The last thing you remembered seeing was a flash of wings and red hair, rushing to you as the world faded to black.

Alright, here’s what I’ve got so far for my fic I’m currently calling “Unbreakable Bond”
It’s mostly an opening that fuctions as a synopsis of my idea for it, you know the whole “if Sonic and Tails never met, Sonic would die.” Thing.
Sonic and Tails, brothers who would always be there for each other, their bond unbreakable, forged through countless adventures. Together, they have stood against Dr. Eggman time and time again, flying high in the Tornado and racing side by side across the globe. Their courage, determination, and friendship turned them into legends, their names celebrated far and wide as symbols of hope and heroism.
But what if they never met?
What if, on that pivotal day, Sonic took a different path, or perhaps he was just a little too focused on the next thrill, the next challenge, to notice the poor fox getting attacked in the distance? Just a moment's difference, a small misstep in fate, and their lives would never intertwine.
Tails, the orphaned two-tailed fox, would be left completely alone. With no hero to look up to and inspire him, no friend to stand up for him, and no one to recognize the brilliance behind his quiet demeanor. The bullies kept coming, their jeers growing louder, their kicks sharper, their hands always reaching for his twin tails. And no matter how many times he would cry out, no matter how desperately he hoped someone would come, no one ever did.
And Sonic? His fate, though seemingly unchanged at first, would become far worse. Without his little buddy by his side, he carried on as always, living fast and free, ready to tackle whatever life threw at him. And when Dr. Robotnik returned with yet another grand scheme to gather the Chaos Emeralds, Sonic rose to the challenge. He tore through zone after zone, thwarting Robotnik's plans at every turn, pushing the doctor back. The battles felt familiar, the hedgehog’s victory seemingly assured. It felt like just another chapter in the never-ending fight between hero and villain.
Then came the assault on the Wing Fortress. As in the tale you remember, the Tornado was shot down at the last possible second. Sonic, quick on his feet, leapt from the cockpit mid-air and landed on the steel deck of the fortress, unfazed and ready to charge forward. He battled through traps, turrets, and robots, eventually confronting Robotnik once again, and beat him one last time, forcing the doctor to retreat yet again. Sonic gave chase as the self-destruct sequence activated and alarms screamed through the metal halls.
Robotnik fled to his rocket, and as usual, Sonic was just a little too slow to reach the rocket before liftoff, Robotnik’s rocket blasting off into the sky heading for the Death Egg orbiting far above the Earth. But this time, he didn’t have Tails.
Sonic had no one to fix the Tornado after it crashed. No one to swoop in during his time of need and help him catch the rocket. No way to reach the Death Egg and save the world, and no way to escape his gruesome fate.
The fortress exploded in a blazing fireball, lighting the sky like a second sun. And Sonic, Earth's last hope, was consumed in the destruction, his final moments lost beneath falling steel and searing flame. Putting an end to the blue hedgehog forever.
Dr. Robotnik won; he gathered the seven Chaos Emeralds aboard the Death Egg and pointed its insurmountable power at the earth. Holding the planet hostage, some nations thought it was a bluff at first, but the sudden destruction of a few cities around the globe proved the Doctor was telling the truth, and soon the Guardian Units of Nations and every governmental power on the planet bent the knee to Robotnik.
This is the story of what went wrong. A world where the friendship that was supposed to save everything never had the chance to begin.

Well-Read
it makes me sick to the very core of my being that the majority of subject two x reader fanfiction is one-sided, forces him to share with albedo, or just makes him a second choice in any way (not that yall shouldn't write fics like that) so this word vomit is my contribution to rubedo nation characters: subject two/dorian/rubedo, albedo tags: reader insert, gn!reader, reader is not traveler, y/n is used sparingly, subject two is called rubedo, rubedo is somewhat whimsical, rubedo is insecure, canon divergence ig wc: 2,068
Canon Revision
first and foremost, let's fix that tiny little error in hoyoverse's writing. albedo totally went to durin's heart for some samples and just found subject two plotting and scheming with a bunch of mimics, all of whom stared blankly at him upon being discovered
he was quickly surrounded by the creatures with subject two at the lead and, having realized it would be a losing battle, just asked, "Is there any chance we can come to a compromise?"
subject two reaaallly wanted to kill albedo and move forward with his original plan to assume his identity but he was willing to listen
the compromise was this: if subject two a) quit trying to kill albedo, b) stopped conspiring with durin's... corpse, and c) helped albedo with his little project, albedo would allow him to live a normal life in mondstadt as his twin brother
of course, subject two was more than willing and together they dispatched the imitations, who were displeased but not exactly surprised by subject two's betrayal
once the mimics were dead and the samples had been collected, they went back to the campsite together to craft a backstory that didn't involve multiple counts of attempted murder
Before Moving to Mondstadt
subject two was desperate to leave the frigid mountain but albedo insisted that he needed to learn how to be his own person before talking to new people. he was great at impersonating albedo but had no personality (or style) of his own, something that might arouse suspicion
in the months that followed the formation of their alliance, rubedo, finally bearing his own name, worked hard to discover things that were unique to him and not just echoes of albedo's character
after long hours running numbers in the lab and calculating the necessary quantities of the materials they sought for their experiments, he would stay up reading every night, hoping to gain some insight about the human experience from literature
his favorite genre by far is mystery, especially whodunnits, but he occasionally reads romance novels if they find their way onto his designated bookshelf. the best one, in his opinion, is called The Wind Whispers Her Name, which is a story about barbatos falling in love with a mortal. strangely, the book has no cover. almost like a manuscript, it's bound by punched holes but written lovingly by hand, albeit with poor penmanship and many grammatical errors
(he likes the genshin impact equivalent of 13yo wattpad fanfiction)
whenever he got frustrated, sad, or even just bored, he would leave the camp to feed the foxes. they were cute and he didn't feel self-conscious about his lack of personality when they kept him company
nearly a year after joining forces with albedo, rubedo had made significant progress. not only had he leaned into his more charismatic and emotional demeanor, his wardrobe had changed as well. he started wearing more red and black clothing and began to adorned himself with moons, not stars. he had also developed an interest in social experiments, which he read about when he tired of fiction
since rubedo has no job and is quite veritably broke, albedo suggested that he move into an apartment that he keeps for when he visits mondstadt. he really only uses it a few days every month so it's perfect for rubedo
When He Meets You!
albedo wants to wait until dawn to start the trek but rubedo is mad impatient. like bffr, this man has been stuck in dragonspine for so long with his oh so perfect brother when there's a whole world out there, he wants to leave NOW, even if it's midnight
rubedo doesn't have a lot of stuff to take (it's mostly just books and clothes) so, as soon as they arrive in mondstadt, he dumps everything at the apartment and runs off, leaving albedo to chase after him
it isn't long before the mouth-watering scent of food that has actual flavor reaches his nose. as talented as his brother is, albedo rarely cooks anything appetizing so this is the opportunity of a lifetime for rubedo
his intentions are pure when he approaches the stand but once he looks up and sees your face, his objective changes
"Good morning, Mr. Albedo!" you greeted him warmly, not realizing this was a different person. "Would you like to order something?"
Too eager to care that you had misidentified him, he summoned his romance novel wisdom and responded in kind.
"That depends... are you on the menu?" he asks, elbow resting on the counter and his face contorted in a smolder that could rival Flynn Rider's.
The Albedo you know is always polite and never says anything untoward so to say that you're shocked is an understatement. As you stand there with your eyes peeled wide open, the real Albedo catches up and quickly infers that Rubedo has Misspoken™.
"Good morning, (Y/n), I see you've met my twin brother, Rubedo. I apologize if he's done anything to offend you, he doesn't get out much," Albedo explained before turning to Rubedo and quietly scolding him. "What did I tell you about flirting with random people?"
"I only called Swan 'hot stuff' because I thought it would be fun, this is different!" he whined not unlike a child.
When they finish arguing with one another, Albedo turns to you to order. "Sorry about that, (Y/n). I'd like two of my usual order."
You count the mora he hands you and confirm his order. "So two egg white omelettes with spinach and bell pepper, no tomatoes, cheese, salt, or pepper?" He nods and you respond, "Coming right up!"
Out of the corner of your eye, you see Rubedo grimace. Maybe he's not a huge fan of flavorless food? you think to yourself.
When you bring out Albedo and Rubedo's food, there's only one bland omelette to their confusion. "There weren't enough egg whites to make two omelettes,” you lied, “so I made one omelette and fried up some bread in the yolks. I won't charge you extra of course. I hope you like it, Rubedo!"
Albedo has a contemplative expression on his face but Rubedo looks at you like you put the stars in the sky. Before his brother has a chance to respond, Rubedo blurts, "It looks great, thank you!"
the serving of french toast is super cute, the bread is dusted with powdered sugar and topped with sliced strawberries; you even used chocolate syrup to write out "Welcome :)" on the plate
after he takes his first bite, his eyes well with tears and he looks back up at you because this is literally the best thing he’s ever eaten?? and it’s coming from someone who knows he’s not albedo?? (and is gorgeous?????)
suffice to say he has a crush on you from day one
Rubedo's Day-to-Day
after your first encounter, he stops by Good Hunter every morning for breakfast (which burns a hole in his pocket), partly because the food is good but mostly because he thinks you're cute when you laugh at his pickup lines
albedo is glad rubedo is adjusting so well but he's like bruh,, can you get a JOB your allowance is cutting into my research funds
he starts working with the knights of favonius but in a more administrative role. he's basically an HR rep but he uses it as an opportunity to observe people's behavior and collect qualitative data (ik this is unethical without consent but dw he's not publishing anything, it’s more like a diary)
rubedo with his bag up is something to behold. he likes to toss mora in bards' hats and instrument cases, pay for rounds of drinks at the tavern, and tip extra when he goes out to eat, all in the interest of being mondstadt's preferred twin
he does things for himself, too, though; the man was deprived of everything that being human entailed and now he’s greedy for any and every kind of human experience. when he he’s not working or currying favor, he volunteers, he participates in community events, sometimes he even goes to the church of favonius to people watch. if it rains, he’s splashing puddles with kids. if it snows, he’s helping them build a snowman or DEMOLISHING them in all-out snowball fights
he likes giving you flowers. he could use alchemy to make perfect flowers but he still looks down on alchemical creations so he mostly buys them from flora. occasionally, he’ll give you a random one he found while walking around the countryside that reminded him of you. he gives you one every day because he thinks you deserve them, not so he can upstage albedo.
Your First Date
he's very sweet to you but, until he asks you out on a date, you think he's just Like That
other people ask him out all the time but he only has eyes for you. the only reason he hasn't asked you out is because he's insecure that he's not perfect, not human enough for you
what finally pushes him to ask you out is when he overhears someone else planning to do so. the minute he hears them talking about it, he hurries over to good hunter and just asks if you want to spend the evening with him
the two of you go to the cat's tail tavern and play genius invokation well into the night, leaving only a few minutes before they closed
it’s late but the two of you are having so much fun that you leave the city and chase each other around in the whispering woods. your game of tag turns into a firefly catching competition and that gradually turns into the two of you murmuring about whatever comes to mind-- dreams, anxieties, loose ends you don't think will ever be tied up
yall totally would’ve slept beneath the stars if laying in the dirt was any bit comfortable but it’s not so he walked you home to springvale. he has the most euphoric grin on his face as he walks back to his apartment and it only fades when he goes to sleep. even then, a smitten little smile remains on his visage
Dating Rubedo
the MOST affectionate; holds your hands, links pinkies with you, hugs you (from the front, side, back, any way that a person can be hugged). many cheek, nose, and forehead kisses await you, you just have to get to that point in your relationship first
olympic gold medal in spoiling you!! uses alchemy to make extra mora so he can afford to buy you all the nicest things in teyvat <3 albedo quickly grew wiser to his tricks so he has to use real mora when he's in mondstadt but anytime you travel to another nation, he turns into mr. mora
makes sure that his apartment is to your liking; he cleans, tidies, reorganizes, repairs, repaints, and reupholsters his home and everything in it to make you feel comfortable. has a drawer set aside for you but hopes you'll need more than just a drawer one day
he's always there for you no matter what you're going through. he's empathetic, good at problem solving, and a true believer that you deserve nothing but the best. he's your ride or die (even if you're being problematic and pushing over senior citizens)
does NOT let you be there for him. he 100% subscribes to the whole "errare est humanum" ideology but doesn't allow himself the same grace. he tries to make up for being an artificial human by having fewer flaws, which is part of the reason he's so generous (i.e. trying to embody virtue)
you can tell he's upset when he starts acting like albedo. all of his flair disappears and he speaks monotonously
terrible at communicating his feelings en vivo; he writes so eloquently but if you make him explain what he's feeling in the moment he'll have a meltdown. he apologizes whenever he snaps at you but he doesn't always tell you why he was so upset in the first place
he's afraid to tell you about his true nature. the thought of you finding out keeps him up at night, even when he's tangled up in your warm embrace
when he tells you/you figure it out, there's a lot of sniffling and hugging but you don't dump him so he considers that a win
realizing that you love him for who he is and not what he is helps him feel more secure but isn't an instant cure (obvi). you're there for him though and he adores you for it
a/n: that's all i have, i hope i captured his character well enough. i probably won't make revisions to this, i just want it out there

God the Fellow brain rot is taking over me! AGH!!!!!
No lie though, aside from him being an absolute A-HOLE, I can't help but think of Joker from Black Butler whenever I see him, except for the fact that he holds no loyalty towards his employer.
I keep thinking of a scenario where Fellow was singing to himself mainly just to get his mind off of the verbal abuse the park's proprietor (who the underground "lovingly" refers to as The Coachman) would hurl at him and Gidel.
Yes, he did pay them handsomely, and it did give them a sense of schadenfreude whenever those wealthy cunts fall for their scheme and are turned into puppets, but even that couldn't satisfy the envy he felt nor would it numb the pain he felt every time the Coachman would call him just to call them worthless wastes of space and how if street vermin like them would rather die, then they should do it and decrease the surplus population.
Every day as both he and Gidel polished the park to a sparkling shine, oh how he wanted to rip the heads off of the statues of the friendly fox and the gentle cat, melt them down into gold coins and ditch the place but, money doesn't grow on trees and due to the limitations he had with his education, he was desperate for something so that he and Gidel could at least have food on their table.
On days like this one, Fellow got a good look at his reflection as the ship sailed to their next destination, but the Coachman's words kept playing in his head much like the cuckoos of the clocks in one of the displays.
From the little recollection he had of his youth, there was a song he remembered hearing but it became something he would quietly sing to himself whenever something bad happens and he's grasping onto every last morsel of hope for a better tomorrow despite the Coachman saying that those two aren't and will never be worthy of anything.
Still, it always worried Gidel whenever he heard his big brother singing that particular tune because that meant that he was starting to lose his spark and he's trying to distract himself without lighting a cigar or a cigarette to numb everything going on.
On the week prior to arriving on Sage's Island to get new prospects, he walked inside his big brother's dressing room, seeing him sitting at the lit vanity that rested behind the Playful Stage as he dabbed the green eyeshadow on his lids singing that same, worrying tune.
He tugged on his sleeve, saying to him,
{"You're singing that again."}
"Is it wrong of me to? Who knows if we're going to gain some successful prospects again after we got chased out of The Port of Bliss."
{"We will! I know with your way of charming people, we'll be able to have food on our table again! Who knows, maybe the boss will give you the praise you've worked so hard for!"}
"I envy how much of a ninny you can be, Giddy. Men like the proprietor don't change. Sometimes I wonder if we made the right choice going back to that prick."
{"You're thinking we're like the old toymaker? That we're stuck in the belly of a whale?"}
"No shit, you dunderhead! As funny as it is seeing Ivory Tower fucks making absolute jackasses of themselves before reality comes crashing down, the more I polish those damned statues, the more I want to rip out my own tail and sell it to some sick freak who would get a kick out of that. At least they would respect me more than the boss."
Gidel let out a sigh as he wrapped his tiny hand around his.
{"Remember what you told me? You said that we'd get those wealthy jerks to dance for us and that we can go wherever we want."}
"It's not like before where we were roaming around and doing everything ourselves, plus it doesn't help that the law would be after us if they find out what we're doing. Petty scams aimed at those pricks are nothing compared to what we're doing now."
{"They never come back as people... That's what the boss said. With the way the boss keeping us, it feels like we're his own personal donkeys doing his dirty work while he gets to sit back and gorge himself. It ain't fair!"}
Gidel stomped before he kicked the wall.
"Hey, stop that! The park's magic can fall on us if we're not careful and last I recall, I'm the only one who can dispel the magic over this forsaken place. I don't want you to turn into a puppet as well. We can't be crude."
Gidel frowned as his ears turned downward.
{"Sorry, Fellow."}
In return, Fellow huffed out a breath before having his little brother sit beside him.
"I know it ain't fair. I hate kissing that prick's ass so we can eat. After that meeting in the inn... It really felt like I signed my soul away to the devil..."
As Gidel sat up on his knees, he threw his arms around his big brother, pulling him into a tight hug.
Despite the two of them growing up in such a dog eat dog world, in moments of pure hopelessness, the little beastman was always there to help ground him and to remind him to keep pushing forward towards bigger and better goals.
"Oh Gidel," Fellow sighed, gently patting the boy on his back before he ruffled his hair. "You really are a hopeless fool, but I'm glad you stuck with me for so long."
From there, Gidel grabbed his big brother's shoulders as he gave him an intense stare.
{"Don't worry, one way or another, we'll find a way out of here and we'll make that jerk pay for how he's treated us."}
"Heh, you're right. That day when we deal our boss a special sort of karma courtesy of us... That'll be the day."

I actually meant to ask about the one where Lila gets the Ladybug Miraculous, I wanted to save the serial killer for tomorrow... And I added a "future" for some reason, causing confusion.
Well then, I'll ask about the Lilabug & Marinette AU now.
Oh sorry, sorry! I thought you asked abt the serial killer Au! My bad! So, the Lilabug Au! Basically it's what it says on the tin! Lila arrives in Paris early, and Fu comes across her while searching for compatible Miraculous Holders. The reason why he senses her is because Lila would be an excellent Fox, but Fu can't tell specifically which Miraculous she has affinity with. So he pulls his scheme with Truck-Kun, and Lila saves his life. Because you know, there's people recording the damn incident and she wants fame!
Also, Lila is extremely (read: canon levels) cynical in this Au, and generally abhorbs being around other human beings. Sure, she'll play the happy-go-lucky new girl from Italy and smile sweetly at people all day, but she secretly hates every second of it. Anyway, Lila will later find a pair of magic earrings in her bag because she wanted to go viral. Is this Fu Bashing for picking that testing method out of every option? Sure. Will I salt the man? Nah, we have yuri to write!
Anyway, the rest of Origins goes normally, except Lila is also there, sweet-talking her way into sitting at the back of the class and away from all these weirdos. This will be important later. Anyway, Chloe bla blas about Adrien, gum on the seat, etc. Then Stoneheart happens, which also paints a big target on Marinette's back as the local goody-two-shoes! Lila doesn't plan to bully her though, no no. Being her friend is the better option, because she doesn't think Marinette will have the spine to accuse her of lying then. Totally not for the free bakery sweets!
Anyway, Stoneheart! Paris' resident furry is right on cue, and Lila gets an unwanted moral compass in the form of adorable Eldritch Deity! Tikki absolutely hates her btw, since Lila doesn't create anything of her own except lies. Still, they have a city to save and once our beloved Kwami pulls out the "people will love you if you save them" card, Lila's sold! Say less, she's already suiting up!
I'm giving her a more stylish outfit too, think black boots and gloves, as well as actual linings to separate different parts of the suit with some inverted coloring on the sides. Because Lila Rossi is nothing if not fashionable! Anyway, a cat boy falls out of the sky while she's learning how to rip off Spider-Man! One introduction later, Lila sticks with the name Ladybug because why the hell not? She'd have gone with the Italian word, but that's a dead giveaway. Generic means less clues to her identity.
Now, she puts on a great show for the cameras! If Chat hadn't heard her mutter insults about everyone not running for their lives, he'd be impressed! Alya gets saved from that overdramatic car flip, Ladyblog becomes a thing later, and Stoneheart gets absolutely destroyed because Lila is just as smart as Marinette! A bit more straightforward and "I'm going to rip you yo pieces with a spoon if need be"...but very intelligent! Chloe gets saved, Lila feels the urge to psychologically damage her someday soon, and she and Chat find a second to talk after the whole "as long as we're here Hawkmoth can't get you" speech.
Reminder that Adrien has been surrounded by actors and performers his whole life, so he sniffs out Lila's true intentions instantly. Still, she isn't immediately hostile to him. They talk, and decide that since they're the superheroes now, and Paris needs saving from a mentally ill mothman with a midlife crisis, they'll work together. Chat warns her that he won't let her abuse her Miraculous' powers, and Lila promises she isn't going to. Ladybug's reputation as this city's only hope needs to remean clean, after all!
The rest of Origins happens the same, umbrella scene included, and Fu is very proud of himself for making such good choices! Lila also decides to befriend Alya because a blog dedicated to Ladybug is 1) a great publicity stunt she will gladly abuse, and 2) this idiot needs to be kept in check, lest Alya accidentally connects the dots some day. Therefore, we now have the Core 5, consisting of Marinette (reluctant friends with Lila), Adrien (empathetic to the other new kids and thinking her confidence is cool), Nino (music provider), Alya (unhinged conspiracy theorist), and Lila (local lying machine). What a wonderful group of dumbasses! I'm sure everything will be fine!
Most of Season 1 stays the same, with Chat and Ladybug coming to an understanding that the other isn't actually so bad, and Lila secretly liking his stupid puns. No romance for obvious reasons, but Chat is why she slowly starts to open up a bit more in her civilian life. Lila still doesn't care about these people, but Chloe annoys her and Marinette is useful either as a distraction or a help when it comes to getting back at the Queen B. Plus Alya's incresingly ridiculous theories are generating so much popularity for Ladybug that the least Lila can do is listen to the yapping once in a while. She'd still kick them off a cliff just to "save" them for clicks, but her "friends" are at least not on the target list.
Actually, Lila doesn't really try to maliciously manipulate almost anyone here, because she's taken a different approach. The people in her class inexicably seem to have connections with famous artists, chiefs and whatnot, so keeping up the innocent facade is working better for Lila than herding them around like sheep! At this rate, one of these drains on her social battery might prove to be Jagged Stone's secret love child or something! She wants to be in people's good graces!
Due to all of this, her lies are kept relatively minimal and somewhat provable. Besides, most of her deception skills are busy keeping both Ladybug's identity a secret, and the heroic, dauntless persona up for the cameras. Many Akuma are roundhouse-kicked, uppercutted, and defenestrated, but Paris still loves Ladybug (and Chat Noir)! Surprisingly, Lila is actually willing to give him credit where it's due, since she thinks he operates similar to her, with how Adrien poses for the cameras and shoots out witty puns. Just that Chat has a Morality Stick somewhere behind his tail.
Things stay relatively the same until Evillustrator, where Lila's lack of understanding about so-called "normal people" puts her in a Situation. Chloe still exposes Nath's drawings of Marinette, and Lila cannot for the life of her understand the concept of a crush. Physical attraction, she gets. Attraction to someone's status or wealth? Of course! Heck, the free things Adrien usually treats their friend group over are half the reason she's nice to him! Social obligations regarding politeness? Completely comprehendable. But a crush? It just doesn't compute.
An Akuma gets yeeted out of Gabriel's attic, Nathaniel gets butterflied, yada yada. When Ladybug goes to check on Chloe however...the blonde is overjoyed to have her idol visiting her! Lila takes this opportunity to shake some rust off her insults for a bit, and spends the entire time "recipricating" the excitment, with backhanded compliments to boot. Chloe...feels very weird about the experience afterwards, and doesn't understand why. Lila is very proud of herself, and gets yelled at by Tikki later.
Meanwhile, Marinette is actually there when Sabrina shows up and they begin doing the project thing together. Until Evillustrator shows up. Sabrina is terrified, but Marinette's like "Oh, you want to go on a date with me? Yeah sure, let me just change into a better outfit." Nathaniel is overjoyed, and Marinette takes that time to actually wear something nice, and also tell Sabrina to get the heroes ASAP! To her credit, she does so very quickly, and totes not because Chat Noir was looking for Marinette specifically.
Anyway, the boat ride is still the same. Marinette actually notices Hawkmoth hurting Nathaniel, deducing it might be possible to get him to reject the Akumatization somehow, and keeps him busy with a surprisingly enjoyable evening, all things considered. Chat calls in Ladybug, who tells him to stealth after them and wait until she gets there, dumps Chloe, and heads over there. Lila yoyos Nathaniel's sketchbook away, tossing it into he river, trips him and breaks the pen, undoing the damage, etc. It's important to note that since Sabrina was already there with Marinette before, Adrien didn't get to do his "cool introduction" as Chat.
Anyway, Marinette tells them what she noticed about the Akumatizations, and Lila keeps it in mind. After all, if there's one person in Paris who can psychoanalyze people so badly their mental health would improve, it's Lila Rossi! Ladybug dips to go recharge, and Chat starts fawning over how amazing Marinette was. To the girl in question. Adrien is a dork and I love him for it.
He also rants about Marinette to Ladybug, and Lila makes up her mind to pay her a visit as Paris' friendly neighbourhood superheroine. For now, Chat gives her a ride home, and the next day, Adrien has miraculously "heard about" what happened last night. This tips Lila off to his identity, but she decides to figure it out later. Surprisingly, Nathaniel is sitting in the back with her today, and Lila takes that chance to try and understand yesterday's debacle.
They strike up some conversation, and Lila slowly thinks about what Nathaniel is saying. She doesn't feel any of the things he describes to her, but she kind of gets it, if as a abstract concept. Now, Lila still doesn't really care about people, but decides to keep talking to Nathaniel since abruptly going quiet after asking so many pointed questions would be weird. The result? He ends their chat by exclaiming that he's not sure why she's being nice to him, but that's it's nice to have a friend. Lila is so stunned by the idea of friendship, she doesn't manage to correct him in time. She officially has her first friend, and no idea what to do about it. Tikki is laughing at her misery.
A lot more things happen in this Au, like the Collector tipping Lila off regarding Gabriel (which she doesn't share with Chat since he might be Adrien, and while his reaction would be telling, it's too much of a risk), and meeting Fu for the first time since Tikki doesn't get sick in Princess Frangrace here. Needless to say, Lila is very tempted to steal that box full of magical jewels! She behaves, but does slowly begin to loan them out through Season 2. Marinette gets the fox on Sapotis, because Lila would sooner reveal her identity to Hawkmoth than trust Alya of all people to be a responsible superhero.
She and Marinette have been bonding a bit (over their mutual dislike of Gabriel), and Lila is slowly learning how to make friends as herself, while resisting the urge to slingshot stupid civilians off a building with her yoyo. She specifically hates Mr Ramier for getting Akumatized so many times, and repeatedly calls Hawkmoth a tasteless, unoriginal failure of a villain. Gabriel takes extreme offense to this.
Anyway, I'm going to stop here for now because I've been typing for a bit too long. You or anyone else is free to send me questions any time, and thanks a bunch for the ask martiya! Marinette is getting her superhero romance with this one, and ends up being the only person aside from Chat that Lila feels safe to be bitchy and snarky with as Ladybug. Ahh, toxic yuri my beloved! Marinette can totally fix her btw.

It really bothers me in ACOWAR how Feyre is near constantly looking for an underlying motivation when it comes to Lucien and his behavior towards Elain.
When she reads his mind in the library, she is genuinely surprised that he's actually concerned for Elain's well-being and isn't secretly concocting a plan.
She herself is mated. She fully understands how the mating bond can make you feel in regard to your mates well-being yet she has trouble believing that Lucien could feel that way towards Elain? It's ridiculous.
Also, the fact that everyone is constantly eyeing Lucien, waiting for a betrayal. Now, I'm not saying Lucien isn't capable of being cunning/sneaky. As Rhys said, he chose that fox mask for a reason, but the double standard of it all drives me insane! Rhys tells Lucien that he and the Inner Circle aren't exactly as rumors suggest, yet they are all consistently judging Lucien as a Vanserra even when he has proved over and over again that he's rejected his family/their ways and mindset.
This is not meant to sound Anti Feyre because I do like Feyre, I just don't think everything necessarily revolves around Feyre so in regards to what you're talking about, I agree.
In much of ACOWAR, Feyre was projecting her anger at Tamlin onto Lucien. Even if you're someone who thinks Lucien should have done more for Feyre at the start of ACOMAF (something I personally disagree with), none of it meant Lucien was a bad guy. He was never out to manipulate Feyre, in fact it was the other way around. Rhys manipulated every single court into believing he was a villain, that anyone who stepped foot into his territory would either be tortured and lose their mind, or killed and that drove much of Lucien and Tamlin's behavior when it came to trying to help free Feyre from Rhys. Then when Feyre returned to Spring, she continued pushing that narrative, even alluding to the fact that Rhys may have sexually assaulted her. She purposely used Lucien in her schemes to make Tamlin jealous knowing that Tamlin mistreated Lucien. She purposely used Lucien in her schemes to make Ianthe jealous knowing that Ianthe had sexually assaulted him. There is a HUGE difference between someone who struggled to stand up to someone in power on behalf of another because they themselves are also being abused and someone who actively plots to use someone in their revenge (which Feyre did with Lucien). So her being untrusting of Lucien's motivations toward Elain are almost laughable when Lucien has never purposely set out to hurt any female in his life whereas Feyre has set out to hurt others. I also think Feyre held Lucien to unfair expectations after UTM (and an unfair grudge toward him once she left for the NC) as she failed to realize that there were bigger things going on than her being locked in a house by Tamlin. That is NOT to say it wasn't a big deal that he stuck her in there and didn't want her to train, of course those things were determinantal to her mental health and well being but when you look at the things that were actually going on in Prythian? How Springs people were struggling to figure out how to live again after being locked away for 50 years? When there were really dangerous monsters threatening the safety of those people? When Lucien himself was also tortured UTM yet was still expected to be Tamlin's right hand man while also trying to keep Tamlin from falling apart? While he himself was being threatened by Tamlin while Feyre also expected him to do more for her? Feyre was struggling so she pinned it on Lucien to be the one to make it better for her with Tamlin and I don't agree with that when Lucien had way too much on his plate already. Feyre was Tamlin's fiance for goodness sakes, she should have been the one to stand up to him and if that didn't work than she should have told him she didn't want to marry him. She should not have expected Lucien to fight her battles for her. Rhys could focus on Feyre because he didn't need to worry about helping his people find their footing again after being locked away for 50 years as Velaris was protected during that time. He didn't need to worry that Feyre was being held captive by another HL who was notorious for torturing innocents. While Feyre was busy healing and falling in love, this is what Lucien was going through:
Lucien: “You don’t understand the mess we’re in, Feyre. We—I need you home. Now.”
Feyre: I didn’t want to hear it
Lucien: “You have no idea how volatile those first few months were,” Lucien snapped. “We needed to present a unified, obedient front, and I was supposed to be the example to which all others in our court were held.”
Lucien: “He was frantic. The scholars at the Day Court worked too slowly. I begged him for more time, but you’d already been gone for months. He wanted to act, not wait—despite that letter you sent. Because of that letter you sent. I finally told him to go ahead with it after—after that day in the forest.”
Lucien: “You saw your room. He trashed it, the study, his bedroom. He—he killed the sentries who’d been on guard. After he got the last bit of information from them. He executed them in front of everyone in the manor.”
Feyre: My blood chilled. “You didn’t stop him.”
Lucien: “I tried. I begged him for mercy. He didn’t listen. He couldn’t listen.”
Lucien was dealing with some major things in Spring while Feyre was falling in love. Yet when she returned to Spring for her revenge, she chose only to focus on how she felt wronged and not what Lucien had gone through, had been going through. She felt Lucien should have done more for her instead of acknowledging that Lucien was doing a lot for a lot of people and nobody was doing anything to help him. So rather than respecting that he was also struggling with everything that had happened in Spring, rather than caring that he was shocked by the reveal that Elain was his mate, rather than remembering that he had been sexually assaulted and was extremely embarrassed by it, she chose to believe he had bad intentions when it came to Elain, treated him like he did at first and that's pretty disappointing.
