Alien Covenant (Sci-fi / Horror) Don't go into this film expecting the main story to revolves around the xenomorphs, this is not what Ridley Scott has done here even though these creatures are in the film.
The main story revolved around the crew of the covenant but also mainly around David, as he meet Walter , this is where this film becomes this complex Cain and Abel concept story that is incredibly woven into the film story line.
But bewared if you are queasy at the site of blood, this film isn't not for you as this film is the bloodiest alien film todate with some of the goriest scene ive seen in this type of film.
Its a very underrated film that may need watching twice to understand if you didnt get it the first time, but answer alot of question but also leave more. But its a worth watching film to discover certain things it a must to watch. Hmm I think neomorphs would understand bonds and maybe could bond w humans?? I also think they *could* be smart enuf to understand human culture
Like imagine ur horny and u start shedding ur clothes and the neomorph immediately knows exactly what u want
I think I heard u say this abt breg in one of ur fics, but they would def also make low noises to comfort a mate bc I imagine them as very territorial
I also feel like they could have have a crush on a human if said human took care of them(or they just find them mate worthy) so they try to pursue u.. I remember one scene in a movie where rhe neomorph just stood quietly infront of a human (b4 getting killed oop) literally towering over them.. if I was there and had it staring at me like that I’d feel some romantic tension
Yes, that's what I was hinting at with this ask.
To me, I believe their ability to form bonds outside the species would stem more from the fact that they're the "blank slate" before David 8 starts fucking with them to make the xenomorphs we know. But take what I say with a grain of salt, I'm rusty on Alien lore. Anyhow, I don't think David could have made xenmorphs into such a social/colony-based species if the neomorphs themselves didn't already have some level of surprising social adaptability.
The scene you're mentioning is a tad dubious because the person standing in front of the neomorph was David, who is a synth. Xenomorphs can tell a human apart from a synth, so I'm keen to believe neos can do the same, and they might have hesitated purely out of morbid curiosity. It could also just be the fact that the neomorph had recently eaten, and therefore might not have had as much of a violent drive at the moment. Though the way they reacted inquisitively to David's exhale, as opposed to violently, is a good start.
My idea with that comic was to explore that hypothetical bond a little bit more, this time in a setting where you meet one in a premature stage and experiment with the possible outcomes of raising one of these beings (which makes absolutely no sense from a realistic point of view, but all my brain cells were effectively shut off when I sketched it). You're under the impression his obsession with you is typical of pack behavior, and to a degree it is, but you mean more to him. And that only sinks in when it's already too late to do anything about it. Now, I'm a yandere blog primarily, so of course the neomorph was implied yandere in that comic.
The bond implies that he'll get to know your body through scents and gestures. Just as he'll be able to decipher your intent from the tone of your voice and you'll pick up on the different meanings of his vocalizations. It's a learning curve, but they're very fast learners and extremely adaptive, so you might "synchronize" much faster than expected. Naturally, this would definitely lead to him understanding what abrupt stripping means, or if nothing else, gouge your arousal through some sort of scent stimulus. Mimicry is likely to happen at some point, wherein the neomorph will attempt to reproduce your own sexual gestures in an attempt to behave more like you and further erase any sort of communication barrier.
When it comes to noises, I haven't really thought about it too much, but I like to imagine they might be capable of differently pitched rumbles, judging from that same scene where they interact with David. Not all of their high-pitched vocalizations might be born of hostility/fear/alarm, but if they're quiet around you it's probably a good sign.
I'm on the fence about them being territorial. I can see neos being protective, but I just haven't seen enough to determine if they'd stick to one place and become attached to it.

Variety 500 Feature, states Ridley Scott is in Pre-Production of the next Alien Prequel. Ridley Scott CHAIRMAN / DIRECTOR / PRODUCER / WRITER Twitter: @Sir_RidleyScott (I am pretty sure this is a troll account, WTF Variety?) Instagram rsafilms With such oft-imitated and seminal works as “Blade Runner,” “Alien” and “Thelma & Louise,” the four-time Oscar-nominated director-producer alone seems to be equally at ease creating vast landscapes set in both the distant past and the distant future. He seems to channel David Lean, Cecil B. DeMille and James Cameron, on top of his own prodigious gifts as an epic storyteller and visual artist. Having attended the Royal College of Art in London, where David Hockney was a classmate, his art background and training have always informed his approach to cinema, not to mention his extensive work in advertising. He got his start in TV, founded his successful commercial company RSA with late brother Tony back in 1968 (an influential advertising director, his inspired “1984” campaign that launched the Apple Mac that year still resonates), and made his feature debut with “The Duellists” in 1977. His credits include such varied fare as “The Martian,” “Hannibal,” “Robin Hood” and “Legend.” He is exec producing “Blade Runner 2049,” the Denis Villeneuve-directed sequel to his seminal “Blade Runner,” and in pre-production on a sequel to his 2017 “Alien: Covenant.”

If you're still doing those asks! 1., 13., and 17.
1. Favorite feud I'm giving this to Bret and Owen Hart, which went from the spring of 1993 all the way to the summer of 1994, dotted with amazing matches and milestones, especially for the mid-90s. Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa's feud essentially defined what a feud should look like after 2010. The never-ending "destined to do this forever" of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Special shout out to Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels in 2005, because it gave us the "Sexy Kurt" promo. 13. Favorite entrance gear/attires My instinct is always to go with Bayley's Iron Man themed gear for the first ever Iron Woman match at Takeover Respect:

But true to life, my favorite entrance gear of all time is the Great Muta, coming out as a golden undead pirate:

There are golden bones UNDER the jacket.
Now that I think of it, his Venom/xenmorph entrance was pretty rad, too

17. Favorite bad/awful matches you somehow still enjoy?
My go-to for this is always Hollywood Hulk Hogan vs. the Ultimate Warrior at Halloween Havoc 1998. It's slow, it's stupid, it's quiet, it's too goddamn long. Hogan tries throwing a flash paper fireball at Warrior. It gets off his fingers and immediately floats back into his face, singeing off his eyebrows and his nostril hair.
Hogan qualifies again for his monster truck sumo match at Halloween Havoc 1995 against the Giant. Y'ever want to watch two monster trucks just kinda push on one another for about 8 minutes? Now you can! And then the Giant falls off the roof of the building, survives, and we're NEVER told why or how.
For total shitshow potential, Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg at WrestleMania 20. Shoulda been a hoss match for the ages, but both men's contracts were up, both were dissatisfied and grumpy, and the Madison Square Garden crowd let them fucking HAVE IT. So they phoned it right the fuck in. I found myself laughing the whole time.

@faegrifted : Hc Prompt;; ok if this has already been answered in canon or you’ve addressed it before yourself m’ sorry?? But this one is for Ripley and I wanna talk about Jonesy 😸. Was he/she originally Ellen’s kitty or did they belong to another crewmate? We’re they the crew’s companion cat that she adopted after the fight with the Xenomorph? If they were always Ellen’s I need to know how she got them please!
I ACTUALLY HAVEN’T ANSWERED THIS ONE EVER !! and i’ve been playing ripley for like 4 years lol. i feel like / get the vibe that jonesy was the crew’s cat overall. LIKE A SHIP CAT. place there to help with mice / rats / other small rodents that might sneak their way onto the ship. she’s seen as the most affectionate with him but brett’s the one that GOES AFTER JONESY when there’s the small scare. like if the cat was just ripley’s they wouldn’t have made brett go after jonesy. of course, since ripley is a sole human survivor, she couldn’t part ways with the ONLY OTHER SURVIVOR. that cat’s almost like a service animal to her. she also just has a kind heart -- she couldn’t just let jonesy be on the ship with the xenmorph either. spending a little extra time to save the cat.

the alien franchise is a perfect example of a series that becomes less interesting the further it's explained, yet it's so disappointing to me that they cut scenes from the original Alien movie that gave more insight into the Xenomorph lifecycle where there is no queen or hive, but instead a single xenmorph can essentially cocoon, dissolve, and mutate any organism directly into an egg vs. having to specifically use a facehugger, because with the lifecycle thats used in movie canon based off the theatrical release, they're basically just space bugs instead of something truly alien

my favorite gotg headcanon that i never posted is that bb peter quill saw aliens when he was way too young to see it and was justifiably afraid of xenomorphs, he was kinda over it by the time he got picked up by yondu until he finally put two and two together and realized that aliens are real and immediately started frantically crying at yondu like ‘ARE XENOMORPHS REAL??? YONDU, ARE XENMORPHS REAL?????’
