Sensitive, good listener, kinda melodramatic sometimes. They’re a star in their own right, among industry stylists. SJM Entertainment has only hired the best, after all. May you crack their glittery shell, behind the scenes. First of all, you’ll have to prove you’re not one of these arrogant celebrities they’re so used to working with!

KIM YISEO, 24, F ✧ If Yiseo had to be described in a word, it’d be angry. Don’t even ask at who, what or why. The answer is everyone, everything, and none of your business. She wants to be an idol, it’s her lifelong dream, she’d kill for it. A lone wolf, the edge of her white teeth glistens under the spotlight.

HOSHI MOE, 21, F ✧ Ever since she was announced as a contestant, people have been guessing it, and they’re right: Though it’s not something she talks about, Moe used to be a vtuber. Controversies forced her to retire, following intense bullying. Used to date an older vtuber, which wasn’t taken well by her fans and his. Upbeat as always, she’s determined to forget her past and earn her new beginning in a whole new country.

These notes are more so on her relationships with other characters! I don't know if I plan on adding more but for this section, so this is just focusing on specific characters {Feat. Yeonwoo's family, the McAdams, and Ping brothers}. :3 I hope you enjoyyy {Do know I'll probably edit some things just in case if I mess up some wording so 😭}

If there's one thing to add though, is that Yeonwoo's relationship is much closer with her mom. Yes, there's some... Complications, having to take over her mother's work and the many questions she may have for her mom, Yeonwoo still loves her mom. She just wishes that her parents aren't gone and that they're fine... Right?

Yeonwoo and Taemin's parents. Though not much is known, they're workers for Cassandra. Especially their mother, who happens to be Cassandra's secretary. However, due to some circumstances, the secretary role would be placed onto Yeonwoo for the time being.

It's even difficult between the two because Yeonwoo had to keep her work under low around Taemin, considering that she knows that Taemin tends to be very suspicious about secrets... Sometimes she holds deep guilt keeping these secrets from him, especially since she doesn't know herself about what exactly happened to their parents and why they're 'out of town'. But regardless, Yeonwoo has to keep all things under wraps until the time is right. All she cares about is that Taemin is well cared for and that he's safe. After all, he may be the only family she has left, if anything has ever happened to their parents.

Yeonwoo's little brother. Despite the small distance between their relationship, they very much care for each other. With their parents being... Well, 'out of town', Yeonwoo holds the role of most responsibilities, paying the bills on time, having food on the table, caring for her brother, the usual. Though, due to Yeonwoo's work, they rarely have any time to spend together as siblings like they used to.

...Except, it really isn't the case. Yeonwoo, despite being 'obedient' under Cassandra, it's more so out of professionalism. In fact, Yeonwoo holds deep despise toward the older woman she works for. Because while yes, she does follow Cassandra and does everything by getting her hands dirty, Yeonwoo very much believes that Cassandra is the key reason why her parents are 'out of town'. Her despise only grows more deeper whenever she's compared to "being a much better secretary" than her mother was, when Yeonwoo knows very well that her mother was a very hardworking woman under her.

Being her secretary, Yeonwoo very much does her tasks diligently and makes sure that all things are going to plan, where not a single flaw and detail is left behind... You'd think that with Cassandra speaking highly of her along relying on her most responsible secretary and Yeonwoo following orders as she asked while staying by her side, they would be close.

While she works away under Cassandra, there are definite points where she'll be secretly investigating and gathering evidence that related to her parents and their whereabouts. The only thing is, she needs to be very careful around her boss...Otherwise, who knows what will happen if Cassandra found out about her sidework.

It took a bit of time though until both of them do warm up {mostly on Kimmie's end since I like to believe that it takes ALOT to break down her barriers, especially when it comes to actually opening up about her vulnerability or her other thoughts}, having a bond of sorts. Kimmie, although she rarely admits it, she very much looks up to Yeonwoo like an older sister {which you know, Yeonwoo IS an older sister but anyways-}.

Being your boss's secretary, you're bound to multi-task on caring for her child at some point... But surprisingly? No complaints. Sure, Kimmie does throw some sassy remarks toward her and perhaps at some point threw some jabs at her, Yeonwoo isn't really too bothered since 1. Taemin does the same thing as Kimmie does, 2. Teenagers. They tend to be judgemental.

When it comes to the two of them having a close bond, there are points where Yeonwoo will always make sure to check in with Kimmie, whether she's tasked to or not. There are some moments where Yeonwoo will always know when Kimmie is down {although a bit subtle-} and will pull her aside to lend an ear, listening to whatever she may be feeling, whether it'd be about her mom, school, just anything. You could say it's an older sibling sense for Yeonwoo.

While Yeonwoo and Li tend to be professional when needed, there are points where they're exactly like cat & mouse! Or, rather snake & mouse- Because unlike Yeonwoo, who's actually trying to work and be serious, Li is more playful and teasing in order to get under her skin. Especially when it's just the two of them or if they're at the hydra casino together.

Ah. Him. Honestly it's a wonder how he, of all people, took an interest in her. You see, being co-workers? Let alone important co-workers since they're by Cassandra's side, their dynamic together is... Interesting. To say the least.

I like to think the reason why Li tends to try and push her buttons is that he's often so amused on how she's always so serious when playing professional. It's even fun where she'll snip back and such! Like an angry little mouse. Regardless, he actually does appreciate the help she does around the hydra casino, tending to paperwork and caring for Priscilla. {Believe it or not, it's not even Yeonwoo's tasks, she actually does care for Priscilla on her choice! In fact, she often keeps note to watch over the snake after finishing paperwork-}

And being the "spooky assassin", when Li comes back from rough missions, Yeonwoo drops everything in order to tend to his wounds and such. He finds it somewhat... Endearing. Even with the secretary being so responsible and reserved, it's nice to know that Yeonwoo isn't all that cold as she puts herself up to be. Li could always tease her about it but he'd rather not ruin the sweet moment between them, y'know? {Bro they make me ill so odfiidndosjd I'd like... Write more but I'm saving the other juicy bits of Yeonwoo and Li's relationship in another post maybe-}

Although it may take a few interactions, there might be a possibility where Lee may have the potential to aid within her case about her parents, or maybe even more. For now, Yeonwoo will have to keep an eye on him and see how it all plays out.

Yeonwoo is probably one of the only people to immediately note the exact similarities between him and Li when first meeting him, especially since Yeonwoo is very observant on certain behaviours and mannerisms that Lee may have that relate with... Well, Li.

{I stillll might write more notes with Yeonwoo's involvement with Lee's story, maybe a side quest of sorts that relates to Taemin and how they'll interact with each other. Since y'know, Yeonwoo would be the one to ask if Lee is related to Li, without mentioning him.}

There are tons of kdramas about reincarnation and romance. But this drama is especially doing it well in using the reincarnation effectly in the portraying perspective.

I like how they used the first episode to build the budding love between Taeha of Joseon and Yeonwoo. They used the whole episode for the story and Taeha's heartbreaking death.

And for the next episodes where Yeonwoo is suddenly in 21C, they constantly go back to the episode 1. They cleverly bring back the lines and scenes of EP1 and use parallels to make viewers feel what Yeonwoo would feel. The sorrow, longing, and love she feels toward Joseon Taeha works the same from viewers. They encourage us to feel certain emotions, and it is working. Edit, music, acting, script... everything works so neatly with the parallels constantly coming up.

Yeonwoo deserves a brake after all the writing and thinking he's been doing lately, Haesol notices and does just that, give him a break. Does she go overboard? Maybe. But can it really be called to much when your adorable boyfriend really needs it?

Chapter 1

Hands above his head, behind his back and fingers interlocked, Yeonwoo stretched letting out a long groan as the muscles in his back loosened. As he leaned back a succession of pops and cracks reverberated through the dark room the tension he had built up throughout the day finally released. Pops and cracks he heard echoed the intense relief and satisfaction as warmth spread along his spine, soothing sensation so overwhelming he found himself sinking back into his chair, a breathy, contented sigh releasing after a long day of work.

Letting himself a brief respite, Yeonwoo settled into his chair for a good minute or two, his gaze fixed on the iridescent screen, as he immersed himself into the music he used to help with focus resonating through him. He was done. Finally finished with the final draft of the second installment in his series. Moving the mouse smoothly across the orange and white pad, the cursor on the screen dancing in tandem. Yeonwoo straightened his back, meticulously formatting the extensive 700-page document before clicking send, then sinking deeper into his chair.

The strain of staring at the screen all day left his eyes stinging, hands cramping from the frenetic typing, and his back still aching even after the satisfying stretch that gave him some relief. Allowing himself the courtesy of closing his eyes to rest, he was abruptly jolted by the notification chime that echoed through his headphones. The startle was so intense that Yeonwoo almost toppled from his chair, hastily steadying himself with palms pressed firmly against the desk, squinting at the screen through narrowed eyelids.

Great! I’ll make sure to get it edited and reviewed before you come back from your break. I know you’ve been working hard on this. Now go and take that well-deserved break!

It took a while as Yeonwoo had to read and re-read the message due to the irritated sensation he was threatened with if he so much as blinked, but he eventually got the gist of the message. Sending his thanks and gratitude to Yeseul, Yeonwoo felt the pull to sneak a final glimpse at his work but decided against it knowing if his manager were here at this moment she would scold him for spending what would be another hour unnecessarily editing what was essentially satisfactory.

Using what little strength he had left, Yeonwoo pushed his rolling chair away from the desk before rising on unsteady legs that needed to readjust to his weight. Alternately balancing on one foot over the other, repeating a small sequence of hoops before he slowly made his way to the door, pausing before opening it. After a breath or two or three, Yeonwoo swung the door open, promptly wincing as he shielded his eyes with his arm. The bright light of the corridor assaulted his eyes, and the warmth crashing into him almost staggering.

Yeonwoo was well aware that it wasn’t a healthy habit— writing away in the dark and cold confines of his room for hours on end. When stepping into the light of the living room afterward, the sudden sensory overload made him feel as though any contact would crumble him to dust, but despite this Yeonwoo couldn’t help it. The only way he could focus on his work for as long as it was required of him to do so needed complete solitude— dim room illuminated only by the glow of his screen, a chill in the air to stave off drowsiness. It wasn’t healthy but it worked and helped him meet his deadlines. Plus he always wore blue light glasses so his eyes were fine.

Making his way along the hallway, Yeonwoo staggered a bit, catching himself before he plummeted face-first into the thin rug covering that would do nothing to soften his fall on hard birch wooden floors.

Maybe his eyesight wasn’t as good as he thought. Balancing himself, Yeonwoo turned, the painting on the wall drawing his attention. There was just one on this side of the hall, and that was only because it was so big. He had seen it and wanted to buy it immediately as a piece that would brighten up the apartment more. It was simple, a field of white and yellow roses as the sunrise illuminated them, tinted the flowers with a golden sheen that added a calming aspect to the painting. It spoke to a part of him that lay just beneath the surface and Yeonwoo couldn’t help the small smile that slipped on his face, no matter how tired he was.

Struggling to the living area, Yeonwoo’s focus was captured by the sprawling, velvety, cloud-white couch that called his name to come and lay his throbbing head on. With a near-sprint, slowed only by how groggy he felt, he lifted his knee to recline on the sofa then flopped on top, grabbing a soft, oh-so-comfortable pillow mid-fall to rest his head on.

Yeonwoo groaned the contact with the pillow and let his tired body sink into the embrace of the wool-soft sofa, bringing a soothing wave cascaded through every tired muscle.

Absently, Yeonwoo ran cold fingers along plush furniture and inhaled the scent of warm fresh oranges and sandalwood that lingered underneath, a surprisingly soothing combination. He peaked an eye out to glance towards the kitchen, the food he had prepared earlier waiting to be eaten. Pressing his head further into the pillow Yeonwoo sunk in further, food an afterthought with the overwhelming pounding of his head at the forefront.

Resting a little wouldn’t do him any harm. After all, he was on break and he needed it. He could eat later, and would inevitably have to eat something eventually, as if he had any say in the matter. While he rested, his eyelids gradually grew weighty, letting himself fall into a peaceful and tranquil slumber. A sleep that he very much needed after the past week of non-stop writing thinking and revisions.

Yeonwoo dreamt of nothing other than the very thing he was taking a break from— Different ideas and scenarios of things that could have been, character arcs he could have squeezed in that would have rounded out the characters and brought more depth into the story. Worlds he could have described in more detail, new phrases he could have used that would have been literary gold in the eyes of his readers and critics. Even in his dreams, he couldn’t get away from the ceaseless swarm of ideas that whirled around in his head.

After countless scenarios flew around and had to make themselves known, the sensation changed. Now he felt warm, they were always warm, hands caressing his face, always so gentle. Fingers brushed aside strands of hair that he was sure had fallen in front of his eyes out of the way, followed by a delicate touch. Light, almost ephemeral, graced his forehead, and it was so comforting he sighed. The same feeling moved from forehead to cheeks and even to the tip of his nose, provoking an unexpected giggle. To caught up in the wonder of how calming, how peaceful the dream was, Yeonwoo remained blissfully unaware as the boundaries between reality and dream slowly unraveled, until he felt that all too familiar soft sensation on his lips.

Eyes fluttering open Yeonwoo was met with none other than Haesol withdrawing from the tender kiss. Yeonwoo couldn’t help smile as he absorbed the sight, registering the hand caressing his cheek, as soft and caring as ever.

“Welcome home Haesol.” He greeted, raising a tired hand to rest on top of hers tracing the curve of her hand as it lay against his cheek.

Haesol returns his greeting with another kiss on the forehead and Yeonwoo can’t help the sigh that comes out of him, leaning into it and almost following when she pulls away, almost.

“Rough day?” She whispers, her thumb tenderly gliding along his cheek. Yeonwoo nods, eyes having finally adjusted to the light and willing his body to sit up on the couch.

Haesol remains kneeling in front of him as Yeonwoo readjusted his position, crossing his legs while rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

Looking down at her, Yeonwoo nudged her with a finger, “When did you get home, aren’t you a little early?” It’s not like he minds, more time with Haesol was always great given it had grown scarce recently, Yeonwoo just didn’t want to have another ‘incident’.

“I know what you’re thinking,” She leaned forward, “No this isn’t another ‘incident’. I’m taking a few weeks off from work. I have someone else managing the company while I’m off but,” Haesol moved closer, burying her head in his stomach, “I get you all to myself for the next few weeks. Isn’t that great?”

Normally Yeonwoo would have melted into her arms and let her cuddle him, he needed it given how tired he was but, “Now that’s great but,” Yeonwoo gently pushed her away, hands placed on her shoulders, forcing her to look up at him, “You Kang Haesol haven’t taken a shower yet and I will not hug you any longer unless you go take one. I’m on break and I can smell your work on you.” Yeonwoo scrunched his nose as she looked up at him with that all too familiar look in her eyes.

Pushing herself upwards, Yeonwoo sucked in a breath as Haesol placed her hands on his thighs, looking down at him while he cranked his neck up at her. Flowing black hair slid on and hung beyond his shoulders, creating a veil that separated him from everything else around them. Yeonwoo’s attention was on Haesol, releasing a shaky breath he was holding as she leaned down closer, raising a hand to lay on his shoulder.

Her lips inches away from his, Haesol purred, “Are you sure you won’t allow me just one more hug before I go?” She tilted her head, a sly smirk just barely peaking beneath the surface of utter calm, “Come on, it’s just a simple hug. I know you’ve missed me all day.” Haesol was close, mere inches of space between them as she wouldn’t tear herself away from him.

Yeonwoo took in a sharp intake of breath, he would not let Haesol get to him, “Yes, I’m sure, absolutely sure now please go take a shower.” Yeonwoo raised his hand to rest on her shoulder as he held her gaze unyielding.

“oh?” Haesol said, the hand on his thigh treacherously sliding up to sit on his waist.

“And what’s my reward when I’m done?” Yeonwoo almost scoffed, the corner of his lips twitching, all this simply because she wanted attention.

Pushing himself off the couch, Haesol raised to step back only for him to stop her. Sliding the hand on her shoulder to wrap around her tie, yanking her closer to him, their lips nearly touching, “Well, Haesol I don’t know that’ll have to be determined when you Take. That. Shower.”

Haesol blinked, seemingly shocked at how quickly Yeonwoo switched up on her. If these were under normal circumstances he might have given up, but Yeonwoo was tired after all that work and was not going to deal with Haesol’s teasing.

“Well Haesol,” Yeonwoo unwrapped the tie around his hand and instead wrapped his arms around her shoulders, whispering in her ear, “Do you want to find out what that reward is? Or maybe you’re not up to it hmm?”

The grip with which she held his waist increased and Yeonwoo knew he had her. She couldn’t complain now that he had given her the hug she so badly wanted from him. He just gave it to her in a way she didn’t expect.

Pulling away, smirking as he caught sight of her clenching her jaw, features otherwise remaining neutral. Yeonwoo sat himself back down on the sofa looking up at her, crossing his arms.

Yeonwoo played with the sleeves of his sweater, “Is that a yes or…”

Haesol turned heel and began taking off her coat, hanging it on the coat hanger as she answered him, “That’s a yes, I thankfully already have a reward I want in mind however, I’ll be looking forward to it.” She smirked as his cheeks reddened and walked off into the hall.

Uncrossing shaky arms and pouting at the place he had last seen her, Yeonwoo let out a long groan as he collapsed face-first into the pillowy sofa his face heating uncontrollably as possibilities of what she could possibly want plagued his every thought.

Having fully recovered from the attack that was Haesol trying and failing to entice him into more cuddles, eating the hot pot Yeonwoo made earlier in the day with her. Their conversation was brief yet entertaining. Yeonwoo was now seated on the couch with Haesol resting her head on his lap. That apparently, was what she wanted out of him, her request, a simple lap pillow. No strings attached, thankfully.

Gently combing through her once wet now dry hair, Yeonwoo watched a Christmas film playing on the screen, invested in the scene unfolding. The plot depicted a group of friends enjoying the festive ambiance of a Christmas market, filled with laughter and fun events. Yeonwoo had never been. Although he believed there might be a Christmas market in Seoul around this time, the distance from their current location made it feel quite impossible. If Yeonwoo wanted to go he would have to fly out.

“Isn’t that pretty Haesol?” Yeonwoo looked down at her, all the knots in her hair combed out long ago.

Haesol hummed, twisting her head to look at him, pulling her face away from where it was pressed into the covered flush of his stomach.

Yeonwoo stifled a laugh, “Are you listening to me at all? Or even watching this movie?”

“Well,” Haesol sat up blinking at the screen then looked down at his lap, “You were so comfortable so I kind of forgot to pay attention.”

Yeonwoo peered at her utterly unamused and sighed, straightening his back to pay attention to the screen and not her.

Haesol exhaled, the silence stretching before pulling him into her lap, “Yeonwoo I’m sorry, I’ll listen. How can you blame me though when you’re so comfortable.”

Grabbing the remote Yeonwoo turned up the volume ignoring her pleas and attempts to regain his forgiveness. While Haesol murmured in his ear her sweet nothings tempting and oh so inviting, biting his lip, Yeonwoo held fast. No matter the promises to listen or how comforting her warm body felt after he was cooped up in his cold study all day. No matter the promises to buy him gifts that included new books, clothes, and even offers to go on as many dates he wanted, Yeonwoo held fast.

Haesol didn’t seem to like his lack of a response, however, because she pulled the neckband of his sweater to lay kisses on his neck and shoulder, slow and purposeful as she ‘asked’ him to repeat what he said. And Yeonwoo tried, he tried so hard to focus on the screen in front of him, to ignore how good it felt, ignore hands that threatened to slip underneath his shirt, ignore lips that sucked on pink skin muttering apologies and promises. Yeonwoo tried, then failed.

He was weak, a weak weak man when it came to Kang Haesol, and she knew.

Managing, through some miracle, to keep his breathing steady and mind clear, Yeonwoo slapped the hand that was just about to go under and sighed, feigning exasperation, “I was saying, doesn’t that look fun.” He rolled his shoulder, Haesol raising her head moments after to look at the screen and he turned back to the moment that stuck with him.

“See? It’s a Christmas market doesn’t it look fun?” Yeonwoo said, finger underneath her chin, forcing her to focus on what he was talking about and not mess with him. “The lights are so pretty and that tree is huge. I wonder what it would be like to go there. It’s snowing too so it would be even better, and all those fun activities we could do? He leaned back into her as Haesol listened, “It would be great if we could go to one don’t you think?”

Resting her chin on his shoulder Haesol hummed, “You would like that? Even with all the snow?”

“Sure, I hate the cold but I’ll have you, and your my personal heater. So there won’t be anything to worry about.” Yeonwoo would have shrugged were it not for her chin holding him in place.

Haesol squeezed his sides, the faint whispers of a smile playing on her lips, “Is that all I am a heater for you to use whenever you’re cold? The way you make it sound I would think you’re just using me for my body.”

“Wha- You.” Yeonwoo could feel the heat crawling up his back, showing on now vibrant red cheeks as he sputtered a response, “You- You make it sound like it’s a bad thing. It’s not like you hate it. I know you too well to not know something as simple as that.”

Yeonwoo did. He knew Haesol too well. She loved cuddling up to him, touching him, and then some, any chance she got to the point where there were days she wouldn’t want to leave for work and would purposely show up late because Yeonwoo had given into her whims and let her sleep with him for 5 minutes. Minutes that turned to 10, 20, 30 to an hour, and the next thing Yeonwoo knew he was prying a clingy Haesol off of him, frantically rushing her to work.

Haesol smiled, and all petty resolve to get back at her vanished as he watched her lips curve upward, revealing dimples rarer than the most precious of diamonds.

“Yeonwoo you know something?” She asked, tilting his head to the side to look him in the eyes.

Letting out a shallow breath, Yeonwoo answered, “What?”

“I love you.”

God, she was so cruel to him. Shaky hands came up to rest on her shoulder, and the warm feeling blooming in his chest that never cooled, growing with the same intensity as when she first told him those words under a rainy Grey sky. Haesol brought their lips together for a kiss. A kiss that Yeonwoo leaned into, and Yeonwoo could feel the smile growing on her lips as she tried snaking her tongue in his mouth.

Pulling away Yeonwoo sighed, cheeks pink and heart full, “That’s not fair you said that to win didn’t you?”

“Guilty as charged.” Haesol nodded, poking his puffed-out cheek.

Pouting, Yeonwoo turned whispering mumbles of how unfair everything was as he slid further into the comfort of her embrace and unpausing the film, watching. Haesol’s hands circled his waist and her teasing stopped as they settled into comfortable silence, her chin resting on his head. It was nice spending time with his girlfriend like this. In the sanctuary of their home, shielded from the frigid cold winds beating at their windows. Haesol was, warm, caring and most of all safe, and Yeonwoo wouldn’t have it any other way.

In the warm orange-yellow lights of the living room, making the place all the more inviting. Lights Haesol herself reinstalled in every room in their home simply because they reminded her of his eyes. Yeonwoo still didn’t understand how that was a good reason to tear the old white lights out but when she finished the muted satisfaction on her face was all he needed to agree with her.

Nestled together on the couch in comfortable silence, the exhaustion from hours of writing fading away. Yeonwoo would react to what he saw on screen with a series of tiny claps when something exciting would happen, a hum of approval when something satisfied him, or an occasional scrunch of his nose when he found an inconsistency in the writing. Resulting in them having to pick a different film and restart all over again. Haesol didn’t seem to mind, however, having picked up her phone halfway through the second film, not allowing Yeonwoo a peek when he asked what she was looking at.

Lounging on the couch for quite a while, Yeonwoo was growing tired. Haesol absentmindedly stroking the flesh of his stomach underneath his sweater was doing nothing to aid in his attempts to stay up and finish this movie. The writing was amazing and the romance was full of suspense. Yeonwoo was invested.

“Alright sweetheart, that’s enough,” Haesol whispered in his ear fondly as she carefully took the remote out of his tired hands, too weak to fight back, “It’s time to go to sleep we have a big day tomorrow after all.”

What was she talking about? Weren’t they just going to spend the day together given they were both on break? Yeonwoo was too tired to think about it any further, he murmured an incoherent response as Haesol switched the T.V. off, making sure the film was on the continued list to watch later, and turned him in her lap to sit parallel to her.

“I know, I know sweetheart but we gotta get to bed. You’re practically going to fall asleep any second now.”

"No'm not.”

Haesol sighed, adjusting her seating position before placing an arm under his legs and another supporting his back as Yeonwoo’s hands shot up, arms wrapping around her neck in shock.

“Don’t look at me like that,” Haesol affectionately nudged his cheek with hers, “It’s time to got to bed and you’ve had a rough day enough as it is. All that writing must have drained your mental power but you still wanted to spend time with me when I know it would have been better for you to rest.”

Yeonwoo… couldn’t argue with that. Despite his fatigue, being with Haesol injected a bit of energy into him after a day spent facing a screen with nothing but black letters on a white background, reading and rereading his work enough to break on the verge of insanity. Haesol had that effect on him, she calmed him. He had felt it when they first met in that park three years ago and even his cat at the time Bong Cha, who hated strangers, wouldn’t part with her when it was time to leave.

Yeonwoo vaguely heard the sound of a room door opening and felt softness envelop him. Haesol was special in that way, she could calm any worry, any grievance he had despite being someone of few words along with her caring touch. She had been there when Bong Cha had to leave and comforted him with the grief. Held him in his home, a home that no longer felt like one with the loss of someone who had been there since the beginning.

A clicking sound broke him from his thoughts. Opening his eyes and blinking Yeonwoo sat up, hand on their soft mattress, and looked around the dimly lit room. When had he gotten onto the bed? And when had he been changed into Pajamas? Yeonwoo looked around slightly confused when Haesol opened the bathroom door connecting to their room, a towel draped around on her shoulders. She was brushing her teeth and upon making eye contact with him spit it out, rinsing her mouth so fast he didn’t even register her putting the water in her mouth, closing the door behind her, and making her way to the bed in a fresh set of pajamas an uncharacteristic furrow to her eyebrows.

Climbing on the bed and pulling a confused Yeonwoo in for a hug, Haesol asked, “What’s wrong?”

“Wh- What are you talking about, I’m fine” He didn’t realize how horse his voice was and how tight his chest felt until now.

“Then why are you crying.”

Yeonwoo didn’t realize… no wonder his face felt unusually damper than usual.

Hands gripping the back of Haesol’s shirt Yeonwoo buried his head further into her chest, “Bong Cha. I was just thinking about Bong Cha. I’m sorry I got a little emotional when everything’s been fine all day.”

“There’s nothing to apologize for. There’s nothing wrong at all. You’ve just remembered someone who used to be here and now you’re sad. There’s nothing to apologize for.” Her hands were careful as they held him, and slowly laid them on the soft coverings of their shared bed.

Yeonwoo could only reply with a hum as he held onto her tighter, tears he didn’t want to show escaping him along with memories of Bong Cha that now flooded into him. Bong Cha was always there from when he bought his first apartment, to giving him advice on what to do about the mystery that was Kang Haesol and she was even the one who helped him realize his feelings for the woman and prompted him to confess. Coincidently Haesol and he confessed at the same time while Bong Cha lazily lay on the counter as if to say ‘It took you guys long enough, you idiots finally did it huh.’

A small chuckle escaped him as Haesol softly wiped the tears from his face, before sighing, “Thanks Haesol” Yeonwoo paused, “You always make everything better, thank you.”

“You do too.”

“Hmm?”

“You make everything better for me too.”

Smiling, Yeonwoo pulled away, slowly sitting up as he could almost hear protest from Haesol before Kissing her forehead, quelling any complaint as she relaxed laying further into the bed. Twisting his torso, Yeonwoo reached for the lights above their headboard and switched them off. The only light coming into their room now the moonlight slipping through semi-open blinds.

Laying back and falling into her hold as she pulled him close, pulling the soft blanket over them, Yeonwoo held her in return, the grief he had felt moments ago still there but subsiding.

“Good night Haesol.”

He heard a yawn before she mumbled, “Goodnight Sunshine.”

Yeonwoo was confused.

“Sweetie, how have you been? I’ve missed you so much!” His father’s arms stretched out, pulling him into one of his suffocating hugs. So confused.

Somehow managing enough brain power, Yeonwoo responded, “Me too Dad. I’ve missed you too.”

“We’re all going to have so much fun on this trip! Thank you for inviting us Haesol your so kind. We needed to get out of our comfort zone for a while. Isn’t that right dear?” His father asked arm draping around him as he addressed his mother.

His mother responded, hands wrapped around Haesol’s arm as they made their way to a hotel, “We really did dear, you’re such a nice girl Haesol letting us come along on this trip with you guys. You could have just made it a couple’s trip but you decided to invite us along such a nice girl. Yeonwoo if you don’t marry her you won’t hear from me anymore.”

Yeonwoo could hear himself emit an awkward laugh as he loaded the events of prior. Haesol had woken him up that morning telling them they had to get ready. She rushed him to get dressed and aided him in looking his best for whatever reason before they were out the door, in fully packed suitcases. Driving their way to the airport.

Yeonwoo tried to ask questions but she had stepped on the grass and was near speeding, in all the snow mind you, and he was too terrified to say a thing as he looked at her face, expression calm but something sinister lay underneath, something he didn’t want to poke. Haesol rushed him through the procedures and when they got on the plane his mind still whirling, they were escorted to first class and Yeonwoo couldn’t comprehend a thing.

Sensing this Haesol explained to him that she had booked a flight and preparations for them to come to the Christmas market in Seoul the night prior, her scrolling through her phone flashed in his mind, telling him she thought he deserved it and it would be a nice start to there vacation. Added that there would be special guests. Guests that he now knew were his parents.

Having made it to the hotel Yeonwoo had finally come to terms with what was going on around him, accepting his predicament. He knew Haesol was rich, Yeonwoo may not have known when he first met her but he certainly knew after going to her place for the first time. The expensive neighborhood and the even more expensive apartment left him in awe and somewhat self-conscious about what he could add to the place. Haesol of course, reassured him saying his mere presence in the home was more valuable than anything she owned. Yeonwoo begged to differ but at the time it filled him with pride.

Haesol had already made the reservations for their rooms the night before. Once they received their room cards they were free to go and drop off their things and then explore. Boarding the elevator Yeonwoo finely tuned into the conversation.

“Oh really?” His mother gasped, “His cooking is that good?”

Haesol nodded in response his mother’s arms linked with hers.

“Well, I’m not the least bit surprised our Yeonwoo’s cooking was always the highlight of our days,” She sighed, leaning her head on Haesol. “He would always add such cute creations he learned to make and was always so fun to see what he would make next.”

Huffing Yeonwoo interjected, the elevator door opening, “Mom you’re acting like I don’t still come over and give you food I’ve made fresh that day. It’s not like I don’t visit you guys often.”

“Oh honey I know I just wish you would come by more,” She giggled, “Though, with a girl like Haesol, I can understand why you would want nothing but to stay home all day”

“MOM!”

She had the nerve to place her hand on her cheek as they walked, confused, “What? I said nothing wrong?”

Yeonwoo could feel the fire tickling his skin as he sputtered unable to come up with a response. Haesol patting his shoulder wasn’t making anything better. His father, the traitor, agreed with his mother and ruffled his head before unhooking his arm, stepping towards his wife, and offering her his hand which she took.

“Well, son as much as I would love to stay here we’ve reached our rooms and need to unpack and get ready for the day ahead. Isn’t that right dear?” His father chirped, scanning the key to the room.

Haesol spoke up, “We’ll see you soon mother, and father.”

“Ohh so bold.” His mother swooned, “Please dear I’ve told you before Mom and Dad is much better. Come on now say it Mom an—”

“Ok, OK, that’s enough of that,” Yeonwoo pushed them into their room as they waved bye, “We’ll see you soon. Love you bye.” And closed the door leaving him and Haesol to stand in front of it.

“…”

“…”

Haesol reached over, a silent offer for him to take her hand, “I don’t mind you know. Your parents are great.”

“I know, but it’s embarrassing.” Yeonwo sighed, taking her hand and pulling his suitcase as they made their way to their room, “They didn’t say anything embarrassing did they?”

“They didn’t say anything but,” Haesol paused, amused by the suspenseful expression he wore, “Your mother did give me her blessing, and she showed me some baby pictures. Who knew your parents loved dressing you up in—”

“No, Haesol stop not you too,” Yeonwoo whined attempting to pull the hand in hers out of her hold but ultimately failed due to the grip she held it with.

“Is it so wrong to be curious about what my boyfriend looked like when he was younger?” She asked, fishing out the key to their room Yeonwoo didn’t realize they reached in the midst of his internal debate on whether or not his mother showed Haesol ‘that’ picture, “If it helps you were a lot cuter than I imagined that’s for sure.”

Just when Yeonwoo was about to let out a sigh of relief she added, “Especially in that dress. You were adorable.”

“…” Yeonwoo wanted to end it all then and there.

Face crimson and dark past exposed like a new open wound, Yeonwoo ripped his hand out of Haesol’s and pushed the door open, pulling in his suitcase along with him.

“What?” Haesol asked, closing the door behind her and coming up behind to hug him, “You were the cutest. I don’t see anything wrong with seeing pictures of my boyfriend though just a little smaller.” She squeezed him tighter.

A little smaller was an understatement. There was essentially nothing wrong with her looking at those pictures, but the teasing that he was 100% sure would ensue would be enough to kill him.

Turning around to face her, her fingers interlocking to rest on his waist, Yeonwoo squinted, pointing at her chest, “No teasing.”

“Come on not eve-” Yeonwoo cut her off with a finger to the lips.

“No. Teasing.”

She looked at him, those midnight eyes of hers softening before she nodded. Cautious, Yeonwoo pulled his finger away from her lips eyeing her as she leaned down to say something in his ear.

“You still looked so cute dancing on that stage though.”

Pushing her away, his once calm face now flustered Yeonwoo groaned,

“Haesol!”

“What? Am I wrong?”

“God no wonder they like you so much.” Yeonwoo rolled his eyes, “Just get over here and help me unpack if you’re done.”

Giving him a peck on the cheek Haesol hummed, a smile tugging at her lips, “Whatever you say, sweetheart.”

MODELING GIG 003 ( MODEL BRANDS UPDATE )

all of the MODEL BRAND OWNERS ( HAN JISOO, KIM JINYOUNG, KIM JINSEO, and ZHENG AMELIA ) were called to a meeting by the staff members in their creative teams. during the meeting, the staff members inform the brand owners information regarding the final details of their upcoming campaign, which are listed below:

( important note: there may be some minor changes to the original info given by the brand owners, so what is listed below is what was accepted and finalized. )

AURORA ( BRAND OWNER: HAN JISOO )

MODELS: jeon haru / @lgcharu ( character b ), xu lili / @lgclili ( character a )

CF CONCEPT: it's a spectacle for those on earth where during the day, it will be dark for a few minutes. at this moment, it's still bright, it is clearly daytime. the moon ( character A ) is running towards one specific meeting spot where it seems that the sun ( character B ) is waiting. you can see that both the moon and sun look excited as they make their way to the meeting spot. when they see each other, they sprint and embrace, and it pans away from what is alluded to as a kiss to a shot that focuses on a solar eclipse in the sky, over the ocean. the ambience is moody, dark, and everything is shaded due to the eclipse. the couple can still be seen holding each other close, until the skies start to lighten again. the darkness only lasted a few minutes, and the couple knows they must inevitably part, despite not wanting to. the commercial is ending as the two separate, and the sun stands there again, alone, waiting until the next time the two are permitted to meet again. the mood is somber, despite the sun being basked aglow from the sunlight.

CF CONCEPT: two friends go to the gym. one of them (a) is wearing an off-brand set of leggings and plain t-shirt while the other (b) is dressed in the newest babylon releases. the scene begins with a entering the set, clearly uncomfortable and tugging at their leggings while b is stretching. they each prepare to do squats with weights, equipment lined up beside them. b asks a if they're okay and a confirms while trying not to continue shifting in their clothes. b dismisses it and they both get to lifting their weights. as the guys begin working out, there is an audible ripping sound that can be heard with a's face clearly shocked while b attempts to hold his laughter. the scene fades into the background as the slogan "cause comfort matters" is being said out loud by b's voice while the babylon logo appears on screen.

ELYSIUM ( BRAND OWNER: KIM JINSEO )

CF CONCEPT: psyche is known throughout the land for their beauty that people have started worshipping them instead of the goddess aphrodite. in her envy and anger, aphrodite sends eros to cause psyche to fall in love with a hideous monster. but when eros sees psyche, they fall in love with psyche instead. disobeying aphrodite, eros carries psyche off to a hidden palace, where they become lovers. but though eros visits psyche every night, eros never tells psyche who they are and forbids them from seeing their face. psyche’s alone during the day, but at night, eros comes to see psyche. [night time will be depicted by the elysium candles hanging all over the place]. psyche learns to love eros despite not seeing their face. but somehow, psyche is curious to see the face behind their lover.  so one night, while psyche thinks eros is asleep, psyche takes courage and lights a candle. walking quietly, psyche approaches the bed. the light does not show a monster but the most beautiful of people. suddenly, eros sits up and looks psyche in the eye (has an intense look of both love and betrayal) before blowing out the candle.

NYX ( BRAND OWNER: ZHENG AMELIA )

CF CONCEPT: the commercial opens with a red screen. the camera begins to pan out slowly and it's revealed that the red was actually the pajamas of a young girl. she's dressed in a pajama set that is red and has dragon patterns on it. the camera continues panning up and around until her face is in the centre of the frame. suddenly, two hands cover her eyes. they are large hands and clearly belong to a male. the girl is riding a dragon along with a male. he smiles at the girl and she smiles back. her outfit has changed and she's wearing a red silk nightgown with floral patterns and she has a red silk dressing gown on. the camera pans back and the viewer sees the two riding the dragon as it continues flying through the air. soon after, it’s revealed that the girl was actually dreaming. she's laying in her bed, a red and black sleepmask covering her eyes as she smiles. the camera slowly pans out until the screen goes black and the nyx logo appears.

PRODUCT(S) FROM THIS COLLECTION: four items; a red silk unisex dressing gown with dragons printed on it. a red and black coloured sleep mask with a floral design and made of soft silk-like fabric. a red silk nightgown with a lightly coloured floral design. a unisex pajama set that is made of silk, is red, and has dragons on it.

due to everyone’s busy schedules, filming for the cf videos and photoshoot will be done sometime around late APRIL and MAY. the campaign will be set to launch around JULY-AUGUST and will last until the end of 2024.

a few days after the cf filming, the MODELS for the brands will be asked to sit down individually and film their own review video! the video will last around 10-15 minutes but they will be given all of the products in their respective brand’s collection and give their initial thoughts about it! release dates for when all of the cfs and review videos will be announced during Q3!

interview: TRENDZ wants to share their passion and energy with FRIENDZ through their music

After concluding the story from their [BLUE SET] series with their previous release, Blue Set Chapter. New Dayz, TRENDZ returns with their 3rd single album [STILL ON MY WAY]. TRENDZ shares more behind-the-scene stories about the album-making during a recent interview with global media outlets.

Q: How was the creation process for this comeback?

ra.L: I would say that the creation process of this album wasn't easy, but we are proud of the result that we achieved. During our hiatus, we had to work on the album while we were abroad in Indonesia, Kazakhstan, and Japan. We trusted each other and communicated extensively to complete the lyrics for the album. We practiced the choreography thoroughly together to achieve a great end result.

YECHAN: The music video for the title track was centered around a concept of a movie club. It was something that we have never tried before, so the entire filming process was quite enjoyable as well.

Q: What has been the most difficult thing in preparing for this comeback, compared to your other comebacks?

YOONWOO: While preparing for our previous albums, we usually had good weather, though it could get a bit chilly at times. For this album, we filmed the music video during the summer, so I remember all the members struggling with the heat. However, the director and the staff were incredibly passionate, which motivated us to give our best performance on set. I believe this commitment helped enhance the overall quality of the final product.

YECHAN: Singing on this title track was a new experience for me. I was mostly responsible for the rap verses, so transitioning to a vocalist's role with different gestures was a bit challenging. To prepare, I studied references from other artists and observed how my fellow members handled it. I conducted my own research to make sure I could perform the role effectively.

Q: Are there any little or subtle details in the music video or the songs that you hope your fans would notice, or would like to point out?

ra.L: In the "MY WAY" music video, the beach scene was a later addition. We filmed it ourselves using our cameras, and we're thankful that the director incorporated it during the editing process. The music video also includes nods to several movies. For example, HANKOOK recreated a scene with Gang Dong Won from "Romance of Their Own," while EUNIL and I reenacted the iconic traffic cone scene from "Her." Additionally, HAVIT and EUNIL brought to life a scene from a 007 movie. These cinematic references are scattered throughout the music video.

Q: How do you feel like you've grown as a group with this latest comeback?

LEON: While preparing for our performances, we used to invest a significant amount of time to get everything ready. However, for "MY WAY", we were able to efficiently prepare a high-quality performance in a relatively short period. Additionally, we put a lot of effort into studying the gestures that would help convey a sense of freedom in our performance. I think these are some areas that we improved on.

YOONWOO: I believe our group has matured significantly since our debut. For this album, which demanded us to convey a sense of dreaminess and youthful spirit, all the members dedicated themselves to rigorous practice. The outcome of our hard work is evident in our more mature and polished performances in this album.

Q: "MY WAY" is a very positive and passionate song. Can you give us an example of how you professionally and personally have plans of doing it, your way?

EUNIL: Our journey as K-pop idols is, in itself, a testament to us following our unique path. We, who were once strangers, came together driven by a shared dream and created an album that's loved from many, a true miracle in its own right. Our collective pursuit of a common goal is a wonderful journey, and it represents the very essence of "my way" that we're pursuing.

Q: ra.L and YECHAN participated in writing "MY WAY". What is the message you want to tell FRIENDZ through the lyrics?

YECHAN: As the message of the album is very hopeful, urging the listeners to come with us, we aimed to convey a similar message in "MY WAY", expressing our determination to overcome any difficulties or barriers that stand in our way. Therefore, we focused on writing lyrics that are very hopeful and optimistic.

ra.L: To add, the essence of "MY WAY" is the determination to persist on our chosen path, undeterred by obstacles and challenges. So, we tried to convey the message that, despite the pain, our youthful spirit will help us triumph over any difficulties.

Q: Since you have finished the [BLUE SET] series and seem to go to new direction with [STILL ON MY WAY], was the approach for song-writing for these songs any different from previously?

YECHAN: While crafting the lyrics for this album, our primary emphasis was on fostering strong communication among the members. I engaged in extensive discussions with HANKOOK and ra.L, assessing which parts would complement the song best and determining the overall direction. We also provided feedback to one another after listening to the completed rap verses. We would also talk to the vocalists of the team, ensuring a collaborative effort to achieve the highest quality outcome.

ra.L: Additionally, [STILL ON MY WAY] served as the conclusion to the [BLUE SET] series, prompting us to showcase a more optimistic perspective on our vocal and rap capabilities. We aimed to convey positive energy through both the music and its lyrics. Consequently, we devoted significant time and effort to practice and excel in the lyrics-writing process.

Q: Have you ever stumbled upon writer's block when writing the lyrics? When you encounter such troubles, how do you overcome them?

HANKOOK: I faced several instances of writer's block while crafting the lyrics for this album. It's a common challenge when aiming to create meaningful lyrics. Often, I found myself struggling to find the right words or expressions. There were nights when I dedicated myself to writing, only to encounter these blocks. In such moments, I didn't hesitate to pause and resume writing the next day. This break allowed my thoughts to refresh, and I often came up with better ideas when I returned to the lyrics. So, I wouldn't hesitate to call it a day when I got stuck.

Q: To all the new fans and listeners who wish to get to know more about TRENDZ, what is the best way for them to do so?

ra.L: Content featuring us is uploaded daily, providing an opportunity for you to discover each member's unique charms and appreciate the chemistry within the group. To truly experience TRENDZ, diving into this content is the best approach.

Q: "MY WAY" is emotional and a motivational song. What is your message to your fans and listeners who are having a hard time right now?

HAVIT: In this album, we aimed to convey a sense of freedom and hopefulness that comes with youth. When you're facing difficult times, we hope our songs can provide you with the energy and solace you need. Likewise, when you're feeling great or dealing with worries, I hope our music can uplift you and inspire you to do better. We want to share our passion and energy with you through our music.

YOONWOO: This album encourages the idea that no matter what challenges life brings, if you keep moving forward, you can overcome them and achieve success. I hope our audience can resonate with this message and find strength and inspiration in our music, especially during difficult times.

With a tray in hand, Kijeon found an empty table by the window. He set down his latte and sandwich, then returned the tray to the counter to free up space for his laptop.
