swarls
Ever looked at something and felt like it was almost moving? That’s the magic of this piece. These swirling ribbons of color bend, twist, and tangle in a way that feels both chaotic and perfectly intentional—like nature and art had a beautifully messy collaboration. The soft curves and rich textures make this print more than just an image; it’s a hypnotic, visual dance that pulls you in and doesn’t let go.
With its bold, vibrant tones and fluid motion, this abstract photograph transforms any space into a modern, artistic retreat. Whether you see a wave of silk, a futuristic sculpture, or the physical embodiment of your last brain freeze, one thing’s for sure—this piece is designed to turn walls into galleries and ordinary rooms into inspired spaces. Hang it, stare at it, and let your imagination do its thing.

How Raven Met the New Robin
by OpheliasSong Kids, lemme tell ya a story. It’s got everything—angst, drama, emotional constipation, demonic trauma bonding, and enough sexual tension to set Gotham ablaze. (such as sunwoo and eric from the boyz, yeji from itzy, heejin from artms and moreee) and i want time to fully develop those characters as well as our mains ofcccc but at the same time one shots are cute cus it’s like a lil movie!!! but series…. idk so i’m gonna let you guys choose (if you wanna know more about the plot, the bullet points below explain it summed up. also, i’ve linked every single spoiler i’ve written for it — i hope this helps you make a decision)
btw if you have no idea what i’m talking about, i’m currently working very hard on a new jeno wip. (although i haven’t written an actual synopsis) the overall plot basically follows

jeno suddenly becomes intrigued of reader and one thing leads to another, they have hot sex! then jeno actively pursues her but she has attachment issues, trust issues and it will take jeno a lot of trying but he doesn’t back down!
oh and reader is really hot and mysterious and the quiet shy type but she is a bassist in a band :) and she’s very attractive and sexy but doesn’t really know it yet
reader isn’t the only one with any issues cus jeno has an ex/ex fling who stirs shit up!
i want the side characters to have a really lasting impact and become favourites, including the members in readers band (sunwoo, eric and yeji) also the 00 nct liners and readers best friends who are both oc’s

My SITCOM Journey
The First Sitcoms: A Teenage Blur
Okay, let’s talk about sitcoms.
So the first “mature” sitcom that I watched was HIMYM, but I was like 14 years old at that time, and I didn’t really get the jokes or the humor. I did not understand Barney at all. I was even questioning why they were still friends with him if everything he did was annoying to them. I think I wasn’t able to get past season 3. I guess I was still hung up on watching sitcoms like Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place.
College Era: When I Fell in Love with Sitcoms
I think I started getting into sitcoms when I entered college. I started watching FRIENDS. That’s when I fell in love with sitcoms! Then I remembered that I watched the Anaconda Don’t bit of Jennifer and David when I was in high school, and I did find it funny back then and until now. It’s a classic scene.
So yessss, my first real SITCOM was FRIENDS. Then I thought, why not rewatch HIMYM with a brand new set of “eyes”/view? Then bam! Finished watching it in like a week or so? I love it!!! LOVE! LOVE! IT! Finally, I understood the sandwich reference, I didn’t really get it back in high school. And yes, Cristin Milioti’s screen time was definitely abrupt, but it was worth the wait. I fell in love with her the moment she turned up on the screen, and honestly, I didn’t hate the ending. For me, it was still good writing, not that I know anything about writing, but still, I enjoyed it! It was a good wrap-up of every story told, everything connected.
I do hate it when characters are on and off and getting into relationships while they’re really still in love with their best/ex-friend, but in TV shows and movies, I can tolerate it (as a Pinoy who grew up in kabitan teledramas). But going back to the “Mother,” I don’t think Ted still loved Robin when the Mother was alive, she’s just really on another level. Or maybe this is just me, putting her on a pedestal.
Moving Forward: Same Formula, New Flavors
Anywayyyyyy, the next sitcom I watched was TBBT, and honestly, I enjoyed it too! I know people love to compare these three, but for me, all three of them are unique in their own way. Even though they do have the same formula, the roommates-friends-to-lovers trope, I still like them all, separately.
The next sitcom that I watched with the same formula was New Girl! I love it! I LOVE ZOOEY DESCHANEL, but what really made me stay and finish this series was Schmidt! I love his comedic timing. I think New Girl feels a little different from the first three sitcoms I’ve discussed, maybe because it doesn’t have a laugh track and it’s more modern, I think, and obviously because it’s much more recent than the previous three. But watching it feels like watching a rom-com movie (IDK if you get this, but it has a different “vibe”), maybe because Nick and Jess have the most satisfying first kiss in the history of sitcoms! Ghaddddd. I love me some Nick Miller! I remember the first time I was watching New Girl, and I was obsessed with Nick Miller, even with his disgusting dirty feet.
Enter The Office: New Humor, New Obsession
So nexxxtttt, I watched THE OFFICE! I was surprised a bit? I liked the first season, but it also felt like, wow, this is a different humor, so different from the first three that I watched. Then, as I continued, oh god, did I love it so much. I am no longer invested in the romance plot of a sitcom, I am just really invested in it as a whole! And Michael, Dwight, and Kevin, what diabolical characters they are! And oh, Jan and Ryan!!! I think this is the first time that I loved seeing a character spiral down and finding humor in the character’s downfall. The Office has opened me up to a brand new set of humor to appreciate. And I think The Office will always have a special place in my heart.
Chasing That Dry Humor
After watching The Office, I was looking for another sitcom similar to it, so I watched Parks and Recreation. I liked it, but not as much as I loved The Office. But thanks to this sitcom, I got to know about Aubrey Plaza! And the “straight to jail” bit.
I think after these two, I also watched other shows of the same creator, which were Community and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. They are good shows too (I love Troy and Abed and Amy and Jake), but I’m still craving that The Office cringe/dry humor. I also watched their other shows later on, The Good Place and Superstore, but I’ll talk about them a little bit later at the end.
A Show About Nothing
That’s when I found Seinfeld! I love it, a show about nothing, just some random moments in life that you’ll find humor in! And Georggeee fucking Costanza! He’s so angry all the time, it’s hilarious. I also love angry Elaine, and god, is she so beautiful!
Going Dark: Enter It’s Always Sunny
Then, as I was looking for another cringe/dry/dark humor, I found IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA! If you’re looking for dark, then. THIS. Watch. This! They are so chaotic, but I don’t think this sitcom is for everyone. A lot of scenes are sometimes too extreme? But absolutely funny! And c’mon, they got Danny Devito! They also have the greatest side characters like Cricket, the McPoyles, and the Ponderosas! This show is still ongoing, and you guys should watch it!
Top Tier: Curb Your Enthusiasm
Next show I watched, which for me, topped all the sitcoms, this is just really great comedy, and it’s IMPROV!!! (As far as I know, they do have like an outline for the plot but they don’t have scripts for their dialogue.) HOW ABOUT THAT! That show is CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM. YESSS! IT’S CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM. Fucking Larry David! Man, that guy is a comedy genius. The scenes are chef’s kiss. The way Larry David gets angry over things that, let’s be honest, we’d be enraged about too, but we’re not Larry David enough to rage over them, is so hysterical! There are also a bunch of times that Larry is being a jerk because apparently he just wants some rules to be followed if it favors him, which makes it more funny. And I don’t know what to tell you guys anymore to convince you to watch it, this show is pretty, pretty, pretty good!
Quick Thoughts on The Good Place and Superstore
Just a short discussion about The Good Place and Superstore. I’m gonna be honest, I didn’t enjoy Superstore as much as I did with the other shows from the same creator. It was still funny, but I didn’t got invested as much as I did with their earlier shows. The Good Place, on the other hand, really stood out to me. The storyline was clever, and the moment I finished it, I immediately rewatched the whole thing just to catch everything I missed the first time. It had plenty of hilarious moments, but what really pulled me in was its philosophical depth and the unexpected twists.
A Few More Sitcom Gems
Some of the other shows I love that I haven’t mention yet are:
Golden Girls (A classic!!!)
Modern Family (My favorite family sitcom)
Pen15 (Coming of age sitcom that is definitely should be on your watchlist, didn’t include it in my earlier ramble because I think it deserves a whole separate one 🤣)
Arrested Development (Currently watching this and really enjoying it)
Young Sheldon (I love meemaw 🥹)
Animated Sitcoms I Love:
Bojack Horseman (I think this is actually more of a drama than a sitcom, still love it, definitely got hang up on it for a while)
Rick and Morty
Family Guy (haven’t really watched it all, but I did watched season 1 to 2, 5 to 15)
Final Thoughts
I think what I love most about sitcoms is that they evolve with you. The shows I didn’t understand or like before make sense now, and the characters I once hated are now my favorites. Some shows made me laugh, some made me cry, and some just gave me comfort when I needed it most. Whether it’s the absurdity of It’s Always Sunny, the dryness of The Office, or the warmth of FRIENDS, each show gave me something. Watching sitcoms has honestly shaped my sense of humor and the way I see everyday life. So yeah, this is my sitcom journey. And I’m still not done watching. Pretty, pretty, pretty sure there’s more to come.

speaking my truth: i know ted from himym is like, actually not a very good either, but it is BAFFLING to me when people think barney is better. the man who REGULARLY seeks out emotionally vulnerable women to sleep with them, lies to them about who he is, sexually harasses them, etc. and yes i know it's because he has 'character development' or whatever but barney treating the One Woman he happens to be 'in love' with at the time (robin, nora, quinn) marginally better than he does other women does not cancel out that in general he's a misogynistic creep w/consent issues galore throughout his 'conquests'. (i would also argue that he doesn’t treat most of them very well either.) nor does the fact that he has a daughter, which causes him to shame girls he was Just trying to hit on (and i know this is supposed to be a part of his character development and yeah don't sleep with the girls so much younger than you but also don't shame them for what they're wearing or wanting to go out and have casual sex, what the hell) all the while /never once saying the name of the mother of his child, instead referring to her as a number./
and again this is not me saying ted is better than barney. he Often does the same shit, especially as the seasons go on, but acts above it and thinks of himself as a 'nice guy'. this isn't me saying he's good, it's they're both awful lmao.
#to me himym can be a fun show only if you understand it as a group of villain protagonist friends#himym#anti barney stintson#ig#anti ted mosby#and before anyone says it: i know the idea that trd is overexagerating some of barney’s faults is a popular one#but A) if we take everything being shown in the story as inherently twisted when there are Often scenes not shown in-universe as told from#ted’s pov#then i don’t know what the point of watching the show at all is#b) ted IS an unreliable narrator sometimes but the show often goes out of its way to Point Out when that’s affecting the story

Immanent Signs of Fandom Death
OK, that might be overstating things a little, but there are definitely some signs that a fandom is ailing, that a ship will never sail, and that you may be left stranded on an island of rare pairs and furry fanfiction. 1) A Gifless Wonder - when artists stop creating art for a fandom, it’s a silent death knell. It means that either they have given up on the show or find it totally uninspiring. This is one of the last things to go in shipping fandoms, but tracking the number of gifs in the main fandom channel is a good metric for overall fandom health. 2) AO3 pornification - Yes A03 has smut. But! In a healthy fandom there’s all kinds of content being produced of all different rating levels, lengths, and divergence from canon. When stories on Ao3 start to be solely focused on porn, without much focus on characterization, canon, or plot - it means that the fandom is ailing, because the canon content is unfixable. That’s not to say that the fandom is going to die right away, but it’s definitely stopped growing and will slowly fade. 3) Bad, Meta! Bad, Bad! - to be fair, I’m not a fan of meta in general. Most meta writers approach meta with the same determined zeal as a deranged bomber approaches their manifesto. Many words with little sense. Textual analysis can be insightful, when combined with knowledge of the writing process and the general application of reason, but far too often, meta writers ditch critical thinking for hot takes and insultingly dismissive tone policing. (Of course I’m not talking about YOU. You write perfect meta. Why would I be talking about you?) 4) It’s ALIVE! - when fandom starts obsessing over furniture and calling it ‘discourse’, you know you’re at a low point of the fandom. It generally means that meta and metaphor aren’t enough and you’re trying to attribute strange symbolic significance to things that are just offhand references by writers who wouldn’t know how to create symbolism if there were cymbals involved.
5) Fight ME! - When your fandom starts fighting other fandoms over whether the writer(s) are bigoted: racist, homophobic, transphobic, classist, or recruiting for nazis. This also applies to fighting other fandoms over which fandom should have won the “WORST FINALE EVER” poll (Sherlock, HIMYM, Supernatural, Game of Thrones, etc).

“So they finally cleared me for field work.”
“Mum that’s awesome.” Maria grinned, hugging her. “Are you getting your job back? Wait, am I being demoted?”

okay so i came across a buzzfeed article from like three years ago about tv couples that never got together but who fans wanted to which had the audacity to leave out elliot and olivia. thankfully one of the top comments underneath made buzzfeed’s pop-culture faux par very clear and it soothed my soul briefly. BRIEFLY.
(if this was a podcast i'd insert at this point that abby lee miller audio about who i assume was kathy from candy apples disturbing the peace. yes the irony is sending me)
one person, however, decided to comment the following
“Um, no. And it's gross that fans think they've been pining away for each other even though he was married to Kathy. And just because Kathy is dead now I don't think Olivia would be that disrespectful to his kids.”
and since it was over three years ago and i cbf making a buzzfeed account thought i’d subject y’all to my reply
firstly, calling any harmless fandom opinion “gross” is what is truly gross here. did i vomit in my mouth a little when i saw one of the entries being barney and lily from himym? yes. do i think the people who do ship those two are gross? absolutely not. i thought we left ship-shaming in the TLJC and destiel cesspools tyvm.
secondly, i am the first in line to get mad at the fact kathy just straight up died. it’s a waste of a perfectly good character (letter notwithstanding) and sends the message once again female characters on primetime are ten times more dispensable than their male counterparts. also i'm willing to give partial credit for it being said that it would be ooc for olivia to want to get together and that it brings up relevant issues of elliot never truly “choosing” olivia. but they have imo jumped over that hurdle (and some) and after an actual decent conversation i think with the way liv is now (can we hear a little commotion for the boundaries chat in the trial of richard wheatly ep) it would be perfectly within her arc to allow herself to fall romantically for elliot.
am i concerned that its dragged on too long? yes
am i fucking frustrated at the lack of momentum from s23 to s24? also yes
but i think we need to accept that what we have is a product of circumstance. both good (extensive evidence of one of the most chemistry-laden tv partnerships on and off-screen) and bad (CM leaving suddenly and WL jumping in to reinvent the wheel with so much force it might as well have been that scene from Cars)
with the latter we were always going to get the bare minimum of stabler references. under different creative influences yet the same chris circumstance – i totally think there could have been some like “he’s deep UC” or “last i heard he’s in rome and unable to communicate” moments which would have made the no contact one hundred percent more digestible
which puts me back on my kathy bs; i am wholeheartedly on team “they should have split up in rome and had to come back to NYC at the same time” or at least team “if you must kill her off at least have them separate them first". thus either way, i guarantee we still would have gotten the same grief dynamics and the initial (and current - let’s be honest) hesitancy we did in ROTPS (...and almost every moment thereafter)
TLDR; lets all be friends but if eo doesn't become canon i will sue

Hinny headcanons
They can read each other so well, it only takes a look or a touch to communicate when they’re out in public.
When Ginny was a Harpy, Harry was her biggest fan and wore her jersey to every game.
Harry sings her Valentine to her every year as a running joke and kept the get well card she gave him all those years because she was the first person to really give him one.
It doesn’t matter how old they get, Hinny is definitely the parental couple their kids keep finding in compromising positions. They never could keep their hands off of each other.
They always hold hands and/or are touching each other in some way when in public: A hand on their thigh or the small of their back.
They’re both competitive and love to make bets against each other and challenge each other.
They share everything. They don’t have secrets from each other and are essentially the Lily/Marshall of the group and are proud of it. (Sorry for the HIMYM reference).
OH yes. I love the idea of wordless communication with them!!!!
YES AND FACE PAINT??? YES PLEASE
ooooo I love this....and Ginny thinks it's only teasing at first and then realizes it actually was special to Harry??? but also he is teasing her hahahha
I'm just picturing Albus screaming and Harry and Ginny are snogging and Ginny is like WE'RE JUST KISSInG?! And then Albus is like "that's not how you felt about grandma and grandpa on New Years Eve!" and Ginny's like "we don't speak of that."
YES but not possessive, it's just comforting affection
AHHH COMPETITIVE HINNY FOREVER I LOVE
ohhh cute cute cute - that's a good HIMYM reference
share hinny head canons?

next on the list of rhink-coded songs: challengers by the new pornographers. mid-naughties indie ballad, and yeah yeah it's intended to be about ex-lovers, but listen. the second verse... good god. the imagery is basically rhett and link writing their blood oath:
On the water today
In the shade of the sun, we wrote down
Another vision of us
We were the challengers of the unknown
"Be safe", you say
"Whatever the mess you are, you're mine, okay?
If that is the custom, I'm down"
counting in the fact that "challengers of the unknown" was a jack kirby comic about superheroes traveling through multiple dimensions, i'm officially on the floor.
anyways. have a good morning/day/night!
-attachment!anon ☘
Sorry, I had to wait until I had time to relisten and properly reply, but OH MY GOD. I love this song. And the band, too. Originally from an ensemble fanvid of The Office that I couldn't even find to reference. I'm so old.
I got very into them (and A.C. Newman's solo work) during my time watching HIMYM (regrets, I have a few) and even wrote something Barney/Robin for a previous Yuletide with this as one of the thematic songs. 😂
It absolutely fits Rhett & Link. I honestly think I must've listened to this at least once while writing, since they're in my library.
I mean! Come on:
Yes I know it was late We were greeting the sun Before long And you live with someone I live with somebody too Leave it there
I love that because their music is so melodious and romantic that there's something upbeat about the heartache. It fits the vibe! 😫
Thank you so much for bringing this song back into my life. I'm going to listen to this album later while I finish editing something because it's perfect for mood setting. I'm sure you've listened to all of Twin Cinema, too, but there's a lot of Rhink-like songs there, too! The Bleeding Heart Show! Stacked Crooked! Use It! Perfection.
